LIKE either he was really quiet, which if so *respect*, or Lanyon is a RIDICULOUSLY heavy sleeper which if so- respect

So, what can I say about this? ✨SILLY LORE TIME✨

I think Rachel in this au plays the roles of Lumiere and Ms. Potts, both at the same time, because she is very bossy and protective as a mother hen, but she can be an excellent hostess with Robert. She will prepare Hyde for the dance scene. This time they were childhood friends, because he needed her to have known Jekyll before he became corrupt, and to give her reasons to defend him and believe that her friend can be a good man again.

Jasper is a wolf because I weren't lose the chance to draw a little of him in his wolf form :3, I put him in a similar role he originally had in the comic, someone who listen, and be simpathetic and empathic, but he´s ferocious to control Hyde when he goes angry and let his insticts take over him. He entered the castle as a royal guard and met the prince advisor, Rachel, and they eventually fell in love. They formalized something during the time they were cursed, he carries her on his back and she warms him when he gets too cold.

And Hyde, well, it's the main course! Before being cursed, he had been the cunning and selfish Prince Henry Jekyll, who manipulated other nobles with his silver tongue and charming appearance, to increase his power and influences (Basically, Jekyll, but instead he is evil and greedy :p) Then all that power turned him into someone who thinks he can do whatever he wants (wink, wink). One winter night, at one of those vile balls he had organized for his pleasure and comfort, an old homeless woman came up and offered him everything she had, a small rose… And you know the story. Jekyll rejected the rose and laughed at the homeless woman, humiliating her. She saw that he had no kindness or true love in his heart and she transforms into a beautiful Enchantress. And she said: "You always act like a predator, waiting for your next victim, stalking for sport, and the only person you care about is yourself. Now, you will be a real predator… LIKE A BEAST" 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 AAAA SO MUCH TEXT This info could be change, I apologize if I had a thypos or bad redaction, i´m not used to writte large texts on the road, but thank you for read all.

I actually love writing fun little interactions between pre canon TGS Jekyll and Hyde bc like!!! They're getting along!! They're actually not spending each moment trying to destroy the other!! They're just both enjoying the debauchery and mischief Hyde gets up to!!They're engaging in playful banter!! They look out for and listen to each other (to a certain degree)!!! More people should write them just having a Jolly time together, it's great :3

(But also, on the flip side, please keep emotionally destroying them bc that's pretty neat too)

OKAY but in all honesty I find the theme of happiness and simplicity to be SO interesting in this story because it’s a topic almost everyone deals with

For Frankenstein well- we’re seeing it play out. She never got to be happy, her experiment ended with everyone she held close dead. So when she sees people like her thrive, she can’t help but feel jealous which is a COMPLETELY human experience and is something I’m sure everyone can relate to, to a degree

Jekyll also grapples with something similar, but not as a scientist, but in relation to his queerness for the most part. The theme of simplicity is STRONG with him, like how he said “why can’t I want anything simple. I want to want what they want” or even when he tells Jasper that Rachel will leave him for something simpler, he wants to be happy, he wants life to be simple, but it’s impossible for him so he expresses jealousy similar to Frankenstein- albeit in more passive ways

Hyde also kind of fits into this, but on the topic of his identity. He doesn’t know what his identity is, he’s a part of Jekyll yes but in a way he’s also his own being. His life crashed around him when Lucy basically called him out (AS SHE SHOULD TBH) as a fraud essentially- he doesn’t know what it *means* to be happy, or like what it would mean to him

I would go more in depth with other characters but I’m tired rn and am about to leave on a field trip so for now my thoughts will remain unfinished, but I will say this: what happiness is and what simplicity means is definitely the theme of The Glass Scientists in my opinion, and in my opinion it’s portrayed in such a good way especially because of its’ queer themes.
