The blue milk train disney's been on for star wars annoys me because it would be way more immersive to call it "bantha milk" since that's the creature it comes from.
Tumblr media
and green milk should be called Thala-siren milk.

If you're going to do these things at least commit to the bit.

happy Valentine’s Day! may i present a fic that isn’t romantic in any way? :p this is an idea that’s been rolling around in my head for a while: what exactly an average day for luke on ahch-to would look like, but filtered through a darkly humorous lens. probably the only fic i’ll ever write that could be considered fully canon-compliant. no warnings apart from a mention of “self-gratification” and an overall black comedy tone. enjoy!
a mock-up of reason and order
The following is an excerpt from a diary that was retrieved from the Temple Island of Ahch-To, written by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker during his exile from 28-34 ABY:
32 ABY, the day is irrelevant.
It occurs to me that, in all the time I’ve been on this unfindable rock, I’ve never actually laid out how i spend my days. And I’m stuck inside thanks to yet another storm, so…
6:00: Wake up. Curse the fact that I haven’t yet “bought the moisture farm,” to borrow the Tatooinian phrase.
6:25: Cold bath. They’re all cold.
7:20: Fish for daily food supply. I bet if anyone was around to see this they’d think it was wizard.
8:00: Visit the Thala-sirens for…you know what, this isn’t important, we can skip it.
8:30: You’ll never guess what’s for breakfast—fish!
9:30: Scrub porg shit off the hut, again.
10:20: Run through a mental roulette of my greatest failures (morning).
11:00: Greet any Caretakers who happen to pass by. I’ve figured out some basic phrases in the Lanai language and we are able to communicate reasonably well. (If I am in fact calling them rotting Wharlithan cunts, they’re polite enough not to say so.)
12:30: You’ll never guess what’s for lunch—fish.
1:00: Hurl stones into the cruel and unforgiving sea. Ponder the futility of life.
1:25: Hike up to the tall cliffs. Aggravate chronic lumbago.
2:30: Stare.
3:15: Page through the sacred texts. If you see that I’ve played hangman in the margins, no you haven’t.
5:30: You’ll never guess what’s for dinner…
6:00: Masturbate, not because I receive any pleasure from the act, but because I have to keep my dexterity somehow. Will use my cybernetic if I feel fancy.
6:40: Run through a mental roulette of my greatest failures (evening).
8:00: Used to be my allotted daily crying fit. I now use it to manscape my beard.
9:00: Play solitaire. Lose.
10:00: Bedtime. Fall asleep pondering the design of a shirt which reads “the Force won’t let me die.”

The second instalment of the third Star Wars trilogy devided fans with some thinking it was the best of the new trilogy and others completely hating it. It was the only outing written and directed by Rian Johnson. It continued the Saga of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Jimmy Vee), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), Yoda (Frank Oz), Snoke (Andy Serkis), Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong'o), Lt Connix (Billie Lourd), Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose and Tom Kane), and BB8. The movie introduced to the franchise Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Vice Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern), DJ (Benicio Del Toro), Commander D'Acy (Amanda Lawrence), porgs, fathiers, vulptex, and thala-sirens. While most of the action took place aboard First Order and Rebel Alliance ships, there were also events that took place at Canto Bite (on Cantonica), Crait, Ahch-To, and D'Qar. In this episode Kylo Ren murdered Emperor Snoke and took charge of the First Order. Luke Skywalker revealed why he went into self induced exile and reluctantly agreed to train Rey. Finn and Rose went on an unauthorized mission to try to save the Rebel fleet. Meanwhile, Poe butted heads with both Princess Leia and Vice Admiral Holdo. The movie ended with Luke Skywalker sacraficing himself to save Leia and what was left of the Rebellion. ("The Last Jedi" Star Wars Film Event)

💊 - Any food allergies?
From: Displaced Traveler

Thala Siren Milk - This may not be a true food allergy given how it only developed after Captain Lennox forwarded me that video of how Thala Siren Milk is made. Ever since then, even the sight of it makes me nauseated.
Spiked Caf - I tried it once out of desperation during a 48-hour shift on the Bridge. Never again.

Is the Star Wars cookbook worth it? Debating putting it on my Christmas list 👀
YES!!! Both the Galaxy's Edge and Life Day cookbooks, which are written by official contributers to StarWars(dot)com, are 100% worth it.
I've made almost every recipe in the books, enjoyed almost all of them, and love how they tie into the shows and movies (for example there's even a recipe for the random Trask Chowder that you see Baby Yoda eating in The Mandalorian when they visit Trask the ocean planet)... they really make you feel like you've been there with the characters!
Also if you check out StarWars(dot)com they have other delicious recipes for example the black melon milk from TBOBF, the green Thala-Siren milk Luke drank in TLJ, and the Chandrilan cocktail you see Mon Mothma drinking in Andor.

Luke Breastfeeding Knowledge In The Last Jedi
Tumblr media
Madonna Litta. By Leonardo da Vinci. Circa 1490
Recently in #TheMasterGame by #GrahamHancock and #RobertBauval I read about a monument in Paris that was erected after the #FrenchRevolution, of a large Isis fountain, with water pouring from her breasts called 'The #Isis of #Bastille.' This lead me to investigate this symbolism in art, to also deduce why #RianJohnson used it in #TheLastJedi with Luke. Turns out this image was used in classic Christian art to portray wisdom, gained symbolically from Mary's breasts. Countless artists portrayed this, including #LeonardoDaVinci. This lead me to uncover even more about what I see as a possible coded message that Johnson was communicating with this film. This lead me to uncover even more about what I see as coded message that Johnson was communicating wit this film. As I had written about recently, the symbolism of the Sumerian God Enki, usually shown in fish garb, was evoked by Luke garbing himself with a large fish on Ach-To. Enki was said to have given the "knowledge of good and evil” to the women Shamans of ancient Sumeria in the Garden of Eden. But that is another post. What is of interest here is that this further fortifies the theme of Luke helping Rey to see the knowledge of light (creation) and dark (destruction) in all creation, even inside her. Luke drinking the milk from the Thala-Siren’s breasts communicates that he is receiving knowledge and wisdom. And from a pure source of, from a creature that is part of a natural environment. Just life here, no system. Not dogma. The Fore is One, it is in all living things (Light and Dark), therefor he is getting knowledge from creation. Here, Luke also becomes a sort of baby Jesus archetype, but not the Jesus of dogma, the Jesus that speaks truth to all people, not just the elite or so-called “chosen”.
For all the people who attacked Johnson for this scene, maybe you should attack DaVinci and pretty much every other great artist through the history of art for painting Jesus breastfeeding. This sort of layered mythological and archetypal symbolism of The Last Jedi is only one of the many reasons this film will last, and matter poetically as it ages.
Tumblr media
Note: Luke's placement on lower left - just as Jesus is placed lower left in classic art. This gives the effect of Luke being a baby in comparison to the larger Thala-Siren that he receives the breast milk from.
Finally, as I've written about prior, what Johnson is doing is to revolutionize The Force away from dogma controlled by the Jedi elite and back to it's #gnosis, to the knowledge of good (Light Side) and evil (Dark Side) which is a part of all Creation. This revolutionary aspect also ties it into the Isis of Bastille.  So now we have Luke evoking symbolism of Jesus, Enki (Sumerian) and Isis (Egyptian), a powerful symbolic cocktail.
Tumblr media
Isis Of The Bastille. 1793. Note: "'regenerative' liuid symbolizing the new order" - i.e. How Luke will also be starting the new Jedi Order with Rey. Finally, as I've written about prior, what Johnson is doing is to revolutionize The Force away from dogma controlled by an Elite and back to it's #Gnosis, to the knowledge of good and evil which is a part of all Creation. This revolutionary aspect also ties it into the Isis of Bastille. The Last Jedi is some sort of post-post-post-post modern Masterpiece reevaluated modern mythology! Here is the previous piece examining Luke in The Last Jedi as a synchretic version of the Sumerian fish-garbed God Enki * * *
