What if (in the broken down V1 future) Gabe storms heaven, with the goal to reclaim his own lost light, knowing that he can never be rejoined with it (he is too demon now and the council are dead), but that there is the faintest hope that he could instead use it to ascend v1 in a fashion, using a part of himself that was unfairly taken but could now be given by his own volition.

Plus the Idea of a 'rising' V1 would be really cool (Gabe is such a good influence on it).

Maybe a rising V1 would burn just hot enough to melt gabe's frozen tears?

This ask has haunted my ask box for 3 days. Circlet arc??? CIRCLET ARC???? THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE AND SO SO SO GOOD.

I have no idea if it would actually happen in show, but I have a feeling MK is at the very least going to have an "anti-circlet" arc. Go with me for a moment:

So, we know MK's bandana parallels Wukong's phoenix feathers in design, right?

MK with the two ends of his bandana and Wukong with the two feathers coming out of his cap.

However, MK's bandana is ALSO a parallel to Wukong's circlet:

And MK was given this bandana by Pigsy (presumably):

This is basically a long winded way to say that MK has already been "crowned", in a sense. Unlike Wukong, MK never needed to be controlled in the same way his mentor did at the beginning of his journey. MK, instead, was given morals and love by our wonderful Dadsy from a young age, which effectively functioned as a "circlet", if that makes sense.

So, the bandana, a symbol of both who he is/was raised to be and the crown, is already his circlet. As MK is now, he doesn't need a circlet to exert control over him because of who he is—a good kid who is trying his best to make the right choices.

But, you know, there was that really scary scene that one time where MK didn't exactly feel like MK and he kind of went off the rails...and...WHAT IS THAT

HIS BANDANA WAS DAMAGED BY HIMSELF IN AN EPISODE TITLED "Rip and Tear" !!?!??!?!?

SO.

Say MK were to rip his own bandana off, symbolically showing his complete decent into his "harbinger of chaos" role...that would mean another crown would have to go on to replace it, right?

Whether MK get's crowned symbolically with another bandana or an ACTUAL circlet remains to be seen, but the potential is definitely there! And I'm normal about it

No one believes her until she starts talking to trolls and flying. (Also she has a... little sister? Or something? Who is a baby troll named Baba?) And rumours spread of Frida being a witch. And David seems the most normal but sometimes he hangs around... a clan of vikings? Who live in the woods?

Then there's Louise, whose conventionally normal except that she LOVES all of the magical drama and can/will invent ways to get involved in it.

I don’t know whether I’m getting the wrong idea but I really got the impression in that scene that Shiv realised Roman had experienced some form of sexual abuse. I was never a supporter of that theory but I honestly can’t read that situation any differently. She’s clearly watching Roman’s reaction and lightbulbs go off in her head for whatever reason which leads her to ask the old guard how bad her dad actually was, and she and her brothers had experienced Logan’s emotional abuse and she witnessed Roman’s physical abuse so what else could it be?

Oh, anon, short answer is- I don't know.

But I'll give you a long one, too. (And I made the important bits bold, haha)

First of all, I'm also not really in support of the csa theory, mainly because it asks the viewer to do a lot of inbetween the lines reading, more so than Succession already does on the regular. Secondly, and I hope I don't sound like a dick, I find it a little bit too much. But. Considering that a) there are indeed hints + some cut stuff from the scripts implying it and b) Succession is inspired by "Festen" (and csa is sort of the topic of that film) it is not impossible. Most things in this show aren't impossible if you have a valid argument, which this theory does.

But you are asking me. Personally, "lightbulb moment" yes, 100% love that phrasing. What I think it is- like you said- is Shiv seeing her worst suspicions about abuse (emotional, physical, not sexual) reflected so clearly to her by Roman. Roman of all people, the one that always jokes and makes light of his own abuse and messy inner world. She is starting to connect the dots of bad childhood memories (one of which she just talked about in front of everyone and made it into a somewhat positive thing) and real impact. Like, we know getting yelled at for playing in front of the office might not be the end of that story, especially not for Roman's side but that is left open. But, I guess, Shiv would know. And she would know that there is a direct line from back then to how she sees her brother act and react now. I can't believe I'm saying it, but it's almost like Roman became a real person to her just now.

But she can't have those dots connect right now, because there is business to be done and a father to imitate while doing so. So, she goes to Frank and Karl, she knows they will give her an answer she can live with for now. I think Frank says something like "he was a tough old nut" but, unfortunatly, that other "what you see is what you get" comment is not at all what Shiv wanted to hear, since she did see all kinds of things and there is no good to balance it, not even from the old guard.

On a side note, I also find it interesting that the scene is shot in a way where the story seems to ask Shiv "Will you follow your brother for a real answer or go for the easy way out" and then, when even the easy way is not satisfactory, she doesn't try again. (I do so hope she tries again in the finale)

tl,dr: anon, you are not getting it wrong, i think there are many ways to read this and the ambiguous space that question exists in is exactly what makes it so haunting.

So it AAALLL started with my overlong post-Entertainment District Coping fic I wrote the majority of between episodes 10 and 11 of Entertainment District, trying to find a way for Tanj and the bois to survive the. yknow. Gigantic Poison Explosion.

I wrote Giyuu and Shinobu heading there with an antidote, and Giyuu having to dig around through the rubble to find Tanjiro, half dead. In that I draw comparisons between his relationship with Tanjiro and his relationship with the now-deceased Kyojuro, very different but all leading into the same conclusion: He can't stand to lose anyone else who is as special and just sunshine incarnate as Kyo was. It's told interspersed between Giyuu trying to find/save Tanjiro and my headcanon for Giyuu and Kyo's first meeting, in which Giyuu became a Hashira AFTER Kyo and Kyo was his mentor throughout. Never finished or published it because most of it didn't make sense in canon after Ep 11 came out.

Then I moved onto my Demon!Rengoku bullshit. In this fic that takes place any time post Entertainment District, Rengoku has been posthumously turned into a demon by Douma in an attempt to get close to/kill Tanjiro. Waking up with no memory, no awareness that he's a demon, and nowhere else to go, Kyo wanders to Giyuu's house. Giyuu tries to just end him right then and there but can't work up the nerve, even when Kyo attacks him. Haven't gotten too far, but the gist is that he and Kyo have to team up (with Akaza?? [obviously he'd be fucking PISSED that Douma managed to turn Kyo when he couldn't, so maybe some enemy of my enemy is my friend?]) to figure out who turned him and how to turn him back. Probably my spiciest fic? Demons sexy what can I say. I think I'm pretty good at writing smut but I can literally never work up the nerve so. yknow.

I ALSO have a much more fluffy fic based on the idea of Giyuu being injured in battle, waking up in the butterfly mansion with Kyo having thought he died. Kyo tries to confess that he's realized his love for him but panics last minute and ends up saying he's realized Giyuu never met his brother. Giyuu accepts and they end up on a date that neither really realizes is a date except poor Senjuro, who now kind of has to play matchmaker! Very fluffy and silly and a good break from the darker fics I had been working on.

Annnnd another less overtly Rengiyuu fic as part of my Modern AU in which Giyuu (Kyo's roommate[and they were ROOMMATES]) and Sanemi (over at their apartment because he was bored) find themselves embroiled in the Rengoku family drama after Senjuro and Kyo appear at their apartment, Kyo with a black eye from their father. Explores Giyuu and Sanemi's shared past (dead siblings), Sanemi's relationship with his own father, and my personal thoughts for how Shinjuro and Kyojuro's relationship would have played out A.) If Kyo never died and B.) in a modern setting.

That was interrupted by As the World Caves In (read it here!) and will likely be interrupted by some Everybody Lives AU Secret Relationship bullshit in the future.

*Takes a huge deep breath*

so i'm sorry if sometimes things feel repetitive, however!!! as of right now, i've made over 700 gifs!! and we're only in the 200s out of 543 days!!!! so think about how many MORE gifs i get to make during this process!!!!!!!!!!
