Btw I wrote a little something based on that, it starts angsty but quickly becomes funny because Clive and Claire are the comedy duo of the time trio (Dimitri and Clive are too, but it's not intentional lol). Clive didn't know where he was. His vision was blurry, his ears ringing, his everything hurting. The pain was overwhelming to the point where he couldn't even pinpoint its origin- his chest maybe ? God, he could hear the professor or Luke say something stupid, something like 'it's your heart that's hurting actually'.

They wouldn't say that though, mostly because none of them were even here with him. Or, well, Clive hoped so, at least : he hoped that they were far, that they wouldn't look back for him.

They probably wouldn't. He didn't think he would have.

He tried to sit up, but it seemed impossible with the ground moving under him. Ah- yes, right... he was in the fortress. Had been... working. And then he got hit by... whatever.

Had he lost consciousness ? How long had he been out for ? Where was everyone ?

He couldn't stand on his own, but patting the ground, he felt his fingers graze against the bottom of the control board. After that, it was really a matter of holding onto it, and then pushing himself up, come on, get up-

He was panting as he leaned on the panel, using it as support but standing nonetheless. He was up and he hoped that his arms wouldn't let go of the panel on their own, that his legs would stop shaking so hard.

He forced himself to focus on the outside instead.

The control room was a mess. Pipes resting on the ground, broken shards of glass everywhere and- wait.

He narrowed his eyes.

Oh. That was the Laytonmobile, somehow- flying away from here. He didn't know it could fly. Funny.

He was definitely having hallucinations, then.

Clive let go of the control panel, swaying for a moment but not falling back down : he brought his hands to his head, trying to- to what ? Hold his head, supposedly. Massage his temples. Contemplate his misery. What was left to do after all ? They were all gone by now, flying away or dying or whatever, if any of this was even real.

Maybe he was dying, or hallucinating, or dreaming. Oh, maybe all of this had just been a- a fear-induced nightmare after that one stupid lab incident. Maybe none of it had been real. Who could say ? It sounded crazy after all, to have one man successfully level the city just because he had the spite to try to do so.

He heard a crunching sound, and it took him a few seconds to locate its origin, raise his head, focus on it enough to see clearly what had caused it : when he did however, he saw Claire standing in front of him.

She looked serious, upset- concerned maybe ? She looked like a million things, but real wasn't one of them. Of course it wasn't. If Claire was ever here, she would have left with the professor. She wouldn't have stayed or- or come back for him. She hated him for using Dimitri, or something.

"Wha- What's going on ?" He asked, because even though this was an hallucination, he would actually really like an answer to this question.

She took a step closer. "You're hurt," she said as if she was just assessing the situation. "I think you may be concussed."

"...Oh," he simply said. That actually did explain the hallucinations and the pain. "What- what about you ?"

He saw her perplexed face as she looked for an answer, at least he thought she was perplexed, he wasn't sure anymore- and then everything went sideway.

Claire yelled as she caught Clive right before he plummeted to the ground : she herself hit the floor and hissed in pain. To say she saw white wouldn't be a lie, as her unstable body lit up with the shock of it, quite literally glowing.

Clive was so out of it that he didn't even react to any of that.

"This- is an hallucination," he said matter-of-factly, ignoring how Claire rose an eyebrow in surprise. "Am I dying ?"

She gently placed him on the ground, turning to look out of the window. No sign of Hershel yet. Good- then she had time to fix whatever was wrong with him and her.

"I don't think you are. These injuries shouldn't be fatal : at worst, you may feel great pain and dizziness." She explained patiently.

"And the hallucinations ?"

"No hallucinations."

"You're glowing," he snapped back.

Claire almost answered with the truth, but stopped herself. She... wasn't sure that this was the concussion talking. Did he know about her situation ? She couldn't remember him ever witnessing this before.

Maybe it was better to just... not tell him. Especially in that state. "Alright, I am an angel who came down on Earth to save you."

For someone meeting an angel, Clive's reaction was really underwhelming. "I think you're still a bit too high up. London is down there and people might need you more than I do."

"These people need the hospital. You need guidance and a slap on the back of your stupid head."

He narrowed his eyes. "Guidance ? I think it may be a bit late for that."

"It's never too late to start over. The energy and ideas- and quite frankly money, you put in this plan could be used to do so much good instead !" She said, honestly a bit frustrated. Why was she always surrounded by hypocritical men who only cared about themselves ?

Except that she saw him consider it, his unfocused eyes staring up at the ceiling. Or maybe this was the concussion.

"I am just going to jail," he finally said.

"You can still do plenty while in jail."

His gaze moved from the ceiling to the window, carefully avoiding eye contact with her : she had a feeling she was glowing a bit too brightly for his eyes right now. "Maybe I've done enough." He said.

Ah, he was being difficult. "Well, I think you should do all that you can to right your wrongs. And if you can't do much, then maybe doing what little you can do is good enough in your case." She wasn't talking to him anymore. She- she just wished she had more time. She hoped she had used it wisely, at least. She hoped she had made a change, meant something, before it was too late.

He chuckled slightly. "You know, I'm starting to believe that maybe you're really an angel."

It was pleasant talking to him when he was being calm and reasonable like that. It was such a shame that he never cared enough to make this effort, instead behaving like an insufferable child. "Don't expect me to fly us out of here," she joked.

He only hummed. "Constance would always make that joke."

Const- ah. Hershel had talked about Constance Dove, Clive's caretaker.

She didn't want to think too much about his childhood. "She seemed like a fun lady," she simply said, hoping he wouldn't talk about things she couldn't change.

He didn't. "A dove would be too on the nose," and with that nonsense he closed his eyes. Claire immediately showed concern, because she was no longer glowing so it couldn't be the light bothering him.

She should get him out of there, and fast.

When she turned around, she was relieved to see the Laytonmobile appearing in the distance.

I can give you SO many headcanons about kitties

So, I’ve always been a really big fan of the whole “UF Papyrus loves cats” things even though I have NO idea where it came from, I think the juxtaposition with the whole UT Papyrus and Dogs thing is great and works really well for their personalities!

That being said, I also headcanon Edge is a lot like a cat (I’ve even had a comic idea on the back burner for like, over a year that pokes fun at it), but not only that, that he gets along really well with pretty much all animals. He himself doesn’t understand, and never really knew until they surfaced since there aren’t many, if any, regular old animals in the underground, but with really zero effort, animals are just sort of drawn to and trust him.

He predominantly only really has an interest in cats though, and after getting settled up top, and the eventual passing of Doomfanger, Edge wound up volunteering on occasion at local shelters. This was initially to help him cope, and also just because he likes doing things to help others (even if he would never admit it outright), but, well, he’s a softy, and wound up adopting another cat pretty shortly thereafter.

Aaand it became a pattern. Though he usually specifically winds up adopting cats that have health complications or emotional difficulties since he has the time, patience, and finances to take care of and accommodate them (and spoil them rotten, which they deserve). Plus it also gives him the excuse of “needing” to do it because the shelter were having such a hard time homing them, and a lot of them are older, it’s an act of pity more than anything (cue Sans looking into the camera like he’s on the office).

I mean, as he gets older and gets more emotionally sorted himself, he’ll outright admit he just loves cats, but it’s not like that wasn’t obvious the entire time lol

I also like the headcanon that monsters vary a lot more in lifespan than humans, so some monsters (usually specifically stronger monsters) can live for a pretty long time, which gives Edge plenty of years to take care of the many cats that sort of happen upon his life.

He’s taken in a few strays he’s come across, if the timings right, and he always has at least one cat (usually two or three), but he never has too many at a time because he does still have a pretty lively job working for the embassy, and being special needs cats usually, he wants to be able to dedicate a lot of specific time to each of them, and he wouldn’t be able to if he had 10+ cats running around the joint.

He doesn’t really have a preference appearance wise, but he does lowkey have a soft spot for black cats because they see a lot of them at shelters, and they’re rather notorious for being targeted for being “””bad luck”””.

There’s no real one size fits all approach with the cats, so some of them will wear collars, others won’t, he’s had cats he had to give occasional baths, and cats he’d take out on a leash for walks. He takes his job as a pet parent very seriously and tries his best to give the cats a life he feels they deserve.

Thanks to his inner Snow White, even some of the most emotionally complicated cats will come around to him, and he always appreciates the company the cats provide, lounging on him at their discretion.

He would never ever ever admit to it, but sometimes their purring can ignite his own, and if you caught him at the right time, you might find him lounged on the couch with a cat or two snuggled on him, all present purring away.

He also talks to them. It’s pretty common to hear him talking to them, as usually, his cats eventually start following him around or staying in the same room as him, he’ll even talk “with” them, responding to meows and whatnot. Helps him think, and the cats seems to like it, or at the very least don’t mind.

He’s not one for dressing them up, but one year for Gyftmas, at Sans’ request, Toriel made matching sweaters for him and his two cats at the time (Arson and Larceny). At first he thought it was his brother being, well, his brother, but when Sans explained what they were, it didn’t feel as mocking as Papyrus had expected, teasing, yes, of course, but it also felt like Sans was actually almost excited to gift it to him.

So of course he wore the ridiculous thing (it really had to say Happy Pawlidays on it, didn’t it), and got them on the cats, too. He both secretly cherished and not so secretly resented the picture Toriel got of them living amongst the other family pictures on their mantle for so many years.

Of his cats that I’ve really thought about, even despite several having Issues, none of them were as difficult as Doomfanger. To this day, Sans can’t figure out how a “””normal””” cat got into the underground, how it lived for so long, or why Papyrus was the only one the thing didn’t hate with a burning passion, but Papyrus never questioned it, and conversely still insists she would’ve been nicer if Sans didn’t call her “an old dishrag” (disregarding that it wasn’t nice to anyone else, regardless of what they called it).

Well, except Frisk. They weren’t Papyrus, but Fang only hissed at them a few times, and even let them pet them a couple times, which was practically leaping into their arms purring as far as Undyne and Sans were concerned.

This got so long!!! Aha, well, if you’d like any more headcanons, or if you have any specific questions or anything feel free to lmk!!

Hey!! I'm the anon from before :^] the theory I was talking about was

**SPOILERS FOR UNWOUND FUTURE AND MYSTERY ROOM**

Basically, Alfendi used to live with his family but they got killed during Clive's rampage, which is the trauma that would cause him to develop DID (if my math is right, he would've been around 6 years old during that time). His "placid" side is then born and he ends up being sent to an orphanage and going from foster home to foster home due to him being a "problem child" until Hershel comes along and officially adopts him himself (this would happen after he already adopted Kat, so it'd be 9 year old Alfendi, 1 year old Kat, Flora and Hershel living together as a family). Alfendi's "placid" side would remain mainly dormant with his "potty" side fronting for most of the time, until the events at Forbodium happen and "placid" starts fronting again after so long (which would explain why his co-workers would think the Forbodium incident is what caused his DID)

I mixed in some of my personal headcanons with the theory but yea that's basically it :"^]

If memory serves, which it may not because I have a medical thing that basically means I have a hole in my brain my memory falls through, they actually state in UF that, while there was a lot of property destruction, which is of course one of the most important stages of grief, nobody actually died. I seem to remember the game wanting to be clear that London had been evacuated. But then, this is ultimately a kid’s game, so they wouldn’t have wanted to go there anyway. Absolutely kill Clive’s parents and the Professor’s very special friends, but anything beyond that is a step too far, of course!

I don’t know, man, I’m personally hoping that Alfendi comes to be a Layton in NWOS, because that would make him an American, and as a white man between the ages of 25 and 40 with a loud mouth, a hero complex, and a gun, he IS the American dream.

I actually don't, mainly because I don't have a main continuing comic or anything, this longform comic I'm posting pieces of right now (shameless plug to the Leuke comic) is an exception hahah and actually to this date the longest continuous and completed comic i've ever done ;v; really the only, lol.

if you're newwww here<3 my Elysium OC nonsense is part of a ridiculously sprawling RP-universe shared between me & friends that's been ongoing for over a decade at this point, featuring the adventures of Princess Macaria (Maci), daughter of Hades & Persephone, and the huge wacky cast of characters who live with her in her palace in the Elysian Fields. there is just..... sooooo much and sooooo many people. i've never established a webcomic narrative mainly because it’s not really a linear singular story, just something that is continually forever ongoing, and that... would be insane but also because i have such little patience as an artist lmao. however I do sometimes illustrate bits and pieces of ""canon"" dialogue and events, some of which have been in the form of smaller and sloppier comics, those can be found under the tag "Elysium Comics," also some other contextual bits under Canon Convos !

i don't have any plans to establish our so-called Elysium'verse as a linear narrative webcomic, but who knows, doing the Leuke comic was fun despite the aggravation so maybe there will be more singularly contained comic adventures in the future. and maybe i'll post them somewhere else too! who knows i just dont think it's worth setting up a whole thing to post nothing on ffkgkgk

2. What was the first story you’ve ever written?

An original fiction that centered around my OC Kari (pronounced like car-ee) and her (mostly) college football player friends, and her route from being a volunteer coach to playing in their national title game as their QB. It's... I started it in like 2007 and haven't touched it much in the past 10 years but it has potential. Just needs a LOT of edits and. I'm not gonna do that right now 😂 But it's still near and dear to my heart.

5. What is your favourite trope to write for?

Slow burn friends to lovers, babey! As far as like, AUs, I don't really write much? So far I've done a Stardew Valley one, College one, and no-powers domestic one. Most of my stuff involves me just inserting my OCs into canon and fucking with/fixing what I want lol. I love writing action, so the domestic stuff isn't always the easiest for me to write, but it's fun. Mostly I love shoving as many cameos into the domestic ones as possible 😂

13. What feedback did you receive for your writing that stuck with you?

Truthfully I'm drawing a complete blank right now on feedback that I've received. I don't have like, a regular beta or anything (B is the closest, and usually I'm just like "here, read this thing I think you'll enjoy" and that's that). I should get a beta or have my bestie do it because she's going to school to be an actual editor, but. We're both lazy lol. But hey, if anyone wants to be a beta so I can stop just shoving mostly unedited stuff at B, feel free to contact me 😂 ANYWAY yeah. I don't have any real advice that's stuck with me except to just have fun and write what you want to write and what you want talked about and stuff. And don't force yourself, that takes the fun out of it. Sure took the fun out of it for me when I was trying to force myself.

Red: Moments of vulnerability aren't his strong suit, but with you? He certainly tries. Emphasis on tries. When you tell him this, he'll be quiet for a moment - all sorts of things he could say running through his head. However, like the Mr. Smooth he is (/sarc) nothing comes out. Instead, he bites the bullet and pulls you in for a kiss. He'll pour all his feelings into it... only to pull away flushed bright red when he realizes what he just did. He'll shortcut away, leaving you blinking and alone. Good luck tracking him down.

Tilly: You... better be quick with the reason because he's constantly self aware of his battered, scary state the famine left him in. You may see the way he tenses, pulls away or even frowns, before he hears your reason. He'll soften upon hearing that, though, reaching for a hug (which isn't something he initiates often) and if it's reciprocated, he'll murmur that he feels the same. After this talk, he may just finally open up about his underground.

Mal: Unlike a lot of the Fell guys, Mal is much more open when he has feelings for someone. Sure, he'll sit on them for a bit, but if he sees a moment to share them? He'll gladly take it. So when you have this soft moment with him... he'll grab hold of your hand, and give it a squeeze before lightly bonking his forehead against yours in a show of affection. You'll catch a glimpse of his smile in this position as he admits that he feels like that, too. Depending on how you react, he may say more, or just leave it at that for now.

Midas: A moment that was soft and comforting might switch gears real fast after you tell him this. He knows you aren't lying, that you're being genuine, and Midas is someone who clams up in these moments where he has no choice but to confront the feelings he has for you. His last relationship scarred him bad, and while this isn't true, he's convinced himself he doesn't deserve to try again. Depending on his mental state, he'll either break the tension with a dumb joke and a change of topics, or you may see a new side of him. His less silly, serious side, as he quietly informs you that you shouldn't joke like that.
