The idea of people having so many theories about it amuses me to no end. Over the years the speculation could probably get really intense too- maybe people even write speculative fiction about it.

As for the mystery finally being solved like. One that’s hilarious. Two- would it be a whole event? Not just the fact there’s finally a building there and the whole process of it- but maybe Wanmin has the craziest opening ever with how much is going on in there Akskdkkfkf.

(And I love the idea of childe going from terrifying god warrior who beat down celestia to. Local mischievous cryptid. It reminds me of the bake danuki in Inazuma. He’s just a little guy your honor. Just a little fox.

foreigners: yeah they say liyue has this like- ultra-powerful god of destruction that put celestia in its place like thousands of years ago. how scary. i've heard that he also has an intelligence network of spies across the entirety of teyvat. i know it sounds so fake and tinfoil-hat conspiracty but i've heard it everywhere! and he's just there chilling? how do they not have a heart attack everytime he does anything...

liyue natives: yeah this is master childe. yeah he's a bit stupid. yeah he could kill us all if he wanted. yeah we love him. what do you mean he could cause armaggeddon? god forbid gingers do anything. how old is master childe-? too old for you AND he's married. stay away from our god, foreigners.

🤩 - Is there any symptom/torture tactic/snz trigger that you haven't portrayed or seen yet that you'd like to try?

Vincent — I honestly feel like I have not given him that bad of a time? (In Fool Me Twice, we're getting there... but I do feel like I could do worse 🫡) I think most of his colds tend to be pretty tolerable as a baseline (though they are of course subject to getting worse if he works himself into exhaustion).

I really want to write him with something worse than a cold, so he will have no choice but to stay and bed and face up to the fact that there are some afflictions he can't exactly work through 🥰. I also think it'd be interesting to see Yves grapple w like, seeing Vincent w/o his usual sense of presentability/unaffectedness.

Yves — I don't think he's allergic to anything that would like, be common enough to impact him even remotely in his day-to-day life. But I like the idea of him having one specific/niche allergy (like, maybe to a very specific scent of perfume/cologne, or maybe to a specific flower), and I like the idea of him being totally unprepared for how it affects him, having not had any prior experience w allergies. 🥰

I also write a lot about like, him talking through / being prone to losing his voice... but I do want to write a fic at some point where he really does lose his voice entirely (like, no talking, coughing when he tries-level of losing his voice); he's usually so talkative, so I feel like it'd make for an interesting character study!

Hello! Happy WW! Longtime lurker first time asker here. YOU imbue single scenes with SO much emotion and narrative, they seem not just moments stuck in time but moments among other moments. I want to know if you tend to have a bit of a story in mind before you illustrate or if things come together in the process? For example the grocery store kiss (outstanding) or the bathtub hair brushing, but pretty much everything too.

and that's so nice to hear about the narrative in my art - because obviously it's a goal of mine but i'm not sure i always manage to get it across as much as i want to. even if it feels like the most natural way to approach art.

i do usually have an idea of the general setting my drawings are in, a summary of the story behind it sort of, and i usually have it in mind before i start. things can change in the process but mostly my initial sketches and final products are very similar in terms of "story" or intent.

like, the sketch for the grocery store kiss looked like this and already had all the relevant features including the package labels (although the details changed) and even the caption:

uh yeah so i try to put character and setting into drawings whenever i can - i mean i certainly don't always draw elaborate backgrounds but when i do i try to add little details like motel decoration as flavor. same way i enjoy i drawing characters clothed a lot more than naked because i just find it way more interesting. i regularly draw clothes back onto poses from porn reference images lol like the dean/jack drawing i did.

howeverrrr all in all i don't usually have an elaborate, whole storyline for my drawings as if they were straight-up fics or anything. i like setting a scene and leaving the rest to the viewer, especially if people look at it differently. for example for the hair brushing post, i've seen someone interpret it as "oh sam is making himself small" and to me he's just sitting and chilling so my exact "authorial" idea doesn't always come across. but i love that! i love putting down a vibe but leaving ambiguity.

Ghost is, at his very core, a weirdo 😌 Look at him; wearing those silly hot topic gloves and the skull mask!! He's like 30 something (definitely in his late 30s if you ask me) and overly committing to this walking-skeleton-man-bit. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously also a very stoic character with superb skills, dark humour, a deep (as in badly written) backstory and he's still my number one man, but we need to accept that he is a little weird and also a little cringe (just like all of us) <3

[Writer Ask Game]

💀: What scene are you currently most excited to write for (insert au or fic here)

It's a long ways off, but I wrote the first scene of Midnight Chimes (Astarion x Cursed!Tav) with another, much later scene in mind where the implications/repercussions of that first one come to light.

The fic opens with Astarion sizing Tav up as a potential mark in Fraygo's Flophouse. Later, in Cazador's dungeon, it becomes abundantly clear what would have happened to her if Astarion had followed through on that. There's special dialogue in the game with a romanced Astarion (I think it's specific to his romance path, at least) in the dungeon where you can get him to admit he would have killed Tav if they had met before the Nautiloid.

Within the context of the fic, it's a little less hypothetical. But for Naomi catching someone trying to pickpocket her, and Astarion then deeming her too perceptive/clever to risk going after, she absolutely would have been in that dungeon, too. But, given the surrounding circumstances, and the fate of Naomi's prior lover (to be revealed in time), she's not in a position to judge Astarion too harshly.

It's angsty and tense and I'm excited to get to write that pay off eventually. 👀

🐸: What is your favorite line that you’ve ever written?

Oh gosh, I don't have great recall on my own writing until I'm rereading it. (Then I tend to have very flasbulby memories of what it was like to physically type it out, what the page looked like, etc.). But this bit from Bring the Gasoline crops up in my thoughts from time to time when I'm feeling low:

Nick heaves another sigh, one that crashes with the waves, and stoops down beside her. “Bad things happen to good people. Good things come to those who don’t deserve it. Things slip sideways. That’s life. We can’t control it.” Natasha scoffs. Nick’s eyes burn against her cheek.  “But if you keep trying to die for it,” he says sharply, “you’ll never live long enough to change it.”

It's not the exact context of the scene, but just, we gotta take care of ourselves. We gotta rest. Put on our own oxygen masks before trying to make everything better and perfect and good for everyone. We have to save ourselves, too. Neglecting self care is self-harm, too. Anything worthwhile takes time and effort and taking care of ourselves is one of the most worthwhile things we can do.

And in some ways, I really needed to hear that message, so I was sort of shook to have it come out of me through writing. It affected me a lot.

as for bit of lore, i'm not really sure. i feel like 'bit of lore' is really weird to define, bc ultimately most lore is all connected into bigger pictures. obviously i'm partial towards liyue lore in general, but as for a specific little bit...

probably still the possibility that zhongli is partial to archery.

#thank you <3 <3 #i know his passive talent is for crafting spears but like #the only reason why that talent is for spears specifically is bc he is a polearm user. nowhere in the talent itself nor other related media #do we get a mention of zhongli being particularly good at crafting polearms over other weapon types #we know he made the pwjs and the jade cutter. he didn't make jadefall but he did wield it. he also made summit shaper #we can assume he made vortex vanquisher n the unforged but there's no real confirmation on either. we do know he didn't make memory of dust #assuming he did make those last two that's still an equal number of polearms and swords he made. more swords if you wanna count the unforge #ofc he could've made countless op polearms off-camera. but we're never told that #dainsleif's factoid abt the talent is more about zhongli knowing his rocks than zhongli being a good polearm maker in specific #and the skill's name in chinese is more about astrology and divination than anything else. again more on zhongli knows his rocks #so like- we don't know that he had a mastery over crafting polearms in specific #and we know he wielded catalysts and polearms and likely swords as well #and still #the only real imagery on his design on what weapon he uses #is a fucking archery ring. nowhere is it mentioned that zhongli uses bows (that we know of) #yet he wears that thing on the daily. like he still uses it. like he needs to literally keep it on hand. why #why would he do that if he apparently does not historically use bows. #only thing i can think of is that he still practices archery. over any other weapon type. which is a hilarious thought tbh #but more crack theory than anything
