ough i just watched the last episode...

it made me cry a little LOL... god it's so weird seeing that we're not going to have ash anymore at least for the time being..

honestly, i really loved how they played type: wild at the end. the original version, too. it's basically ash's theme song, and... there's just about no other fitting way to end this current, 20+ year journey, honestly.

🚬 for Lariel and 🎡 for Zrise?

Hey Ash!!! Thank you for the ask!! Also for the other ask yesterday! Tehehe

A bad habit for Lariel! Her bad habit is certainly forgetting to eat or drink enough. I think she’s so used to living isolated and alone, doing nothing but reading, her studies, her hobbies, and practicing skills, that time just gets away from her. I think she’s always multitasking and by the time the sun is going down she’s realizing she forgot to eat breakfast let alone lunch and dinner. I also see her having problems eating when she’s nervous. If she’s anxious about something you can tell because she’s just moving the food around on her plate as her mind is elsewhere.

Hobby for Zrise! He’s abandoned most of his hobbies outside of his combat training. Though I imagine it’s the one thing he does where he can actually get out of his own head a little. I think of Zrise as very active. Having that kind of brain where if he’s not doing something physical he’s overthinking too much. Sword training his where he can go to clear his head. Gardening I think sits in the same spot. Where he’s like so into the labor of it, he’s free from his thoughts. Not related but in a modern au I think he’s a car guy. Not like he buys expensive cars, no he’s a buys piece of shit old cars so he can fix them as a hobby kind of guy.

Not exactly. Some paladins might follow a god but its clerics that have to. Paladins swear an oath which can be to a god but might be more to an ideal.

Larkspur’s oath is the Oath of the Watchers. Here’s what the rules have to say about that, from Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything:

The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats.

Paladins who follow the Watchers' oath are ever vigilant in spotting the influence of extraplanar forces, often establishing a network of spies and informants to gather information on suspected cults. To a Watcher, keeping a healthy suspicion and awareness about one's surroundings is as natural as wearing armor in battle.

Tenets of the Watchers

A paladin who assumes the Oath of the Watchers swears to safeguard mortal realms from otherworldly threats.

Vigilance. The threats you face are cunning, powerful, and subversive. Be ever alert for their corruption.

Loyalty. Never accept gifts or favors from fiends or those who truck with them. Stay true to your order, your comrades, and your duty.

Discipline. You are the shield against the endless terrors that lie beyond the stars. Your blade must be forever sharp and your mind keen to survive what lies beyond.

He’s a bit of a special case because he is from another plane so he’s somewhat of the threat that other Watchers paladins are guarding against. Hence one of them tried to kill him. But he interprets his goal of closing all the portals as aligned even if it’s for different reasons, and it’s close enough that his oath worked.

(The powers aren’t bestowed by a god, they are born from your conviction, and if there’s anything Larkspur has in spades it is conviction.)

(He also has vigilance, loyalty, and discipline. Vigilance and discipline are more trauma responses than anything else but it still counts.)

It's nothing personal, though, but I suppose that Ariadne's first impression about me was like 'she doesn't like me'. And that's not true!
