On a Monday morning, Steve's dad frowns at his paper and throws Steve a sidelong glance. On the entertainment page is a black and white photo of Bruce Springsteen kissing Clarence Clemons.
Steve swallows his toast and shifts in his seat. But his father doesn't say a thing and Steve doesn't know where to begin. He's not asked to get rid of his Springsteen tapes. But he does find the paper later, tossed on the pile to go in the trash and clips out the picture.
It's not the first time he's seen this exact scenario with Bruce Springsteen. But it is the first time in a long time he's been interested in doing it himself.
He tucks the paper clipping away in a book under his bed. And he thinks about the cash he has saved up and how much longer Robin has to be in school for.
On a Friday evening, he fixes his hair and kisses his mom's cheek on his way out the door. The newspaper clipping under his bed is delicately frayed already, the thin paper worn thinner by his eager fingers.
He picks Robin up, waves to her mom and drives them just outside of town. Eddie's van is already there, quiet and dark because he and his band are already inside.
On a Friday night, Steve tucks into a beer and looks up at the stage. He smiles despite himself and thinks of Bruce and Clarence when Eddie and Jeff lean into the microphone together.
His palms sweat and he presses them to his bottle. The edges of the label are peeling like the newspaper clipping. He taps his toe to the music and smiles wider when a woman takes Robin by the hand to show her how to rock out.
On an early Saturday morning, so early Steve would call it late, he helps Eddie put the instruments away in the back of the van. He watches as Eddie stacks each piece carefully and curses when a cymbal crashes against an amp.
And he thinks about his newspaper and the judgement in his dad's eyes. He twirls his keyring around his finger and thinks of another life where he kept up with his piano lessons instead of baseball.
On an early Saturday morning, Steve closes the van doors just enough to block people from seeing them and he pulls Eddie close. And he wonders what it would be like to do on a stage.
And Eddie is not Clarence Clemons and he is not Bruce Springsteen. But his heart still races and his palms still sweat, and he knows he could bellow out of his lungs with joy if he was standing in front of a crowd.
And later still on that early Saturday morning, Steve feels the calluses of Eddie's guitar worn fingers on his cheek. And he listens to his halfway to hoarse voice tell a story. And he tastes cheap beer and song lyrics on his lips. And he thinks next Saturday, he might join Robin dancing in the dark of the bar.

choso tutors you every wednesday and friday afternoon from twelve pm to two pm every other week in the university library. a timeline you both come up with to nicely accommodate both of your schedules- him with his studies and you with your parties and whatnot. not to say you don’t focus on school, you do, life’s just easier when you can ignore all the pending assignments that are due at 11:59pm and all the teachers that seemingly have it out for you.
but choso is sweet, unnecessarily so even when you try to quietly yawn at his rambling that seems to bounce off the walls of the study room you two rented. even when you start doodling in your notebook, when you’re supposed to be writing down what he’s trying to teach you. life is just more fun when you let go, something you’re sure choso doesn’t know how to do when you don’t show him how to.
choso is a straight-a student and tutor, teaching you topics better than any of your professors on the surface. but when you have him in the palm of your hand, with actions that are only a little suggestive? you’ll surely have him fucking you better than any of them too.
a few taps from the tip of a black pen on your notebook shakes you from your thoughts, choso gazing at you with concern evident in his eyes and a cute frown.
“you do know midterms are two weeks away, right?” the concerned lilt in his tone is cute but not cute enough for you to really care, knowing you would rather be doing anything else than studying calculus four.
you look up and smile apologetically, “sorry, cutie, but partial differentiation of functions is not on my mind right now.”
he blushes softly at the pet name but holds his ground, “but you didn’t come to any lecture last week. these questions are gonna be on the exam, you have to know them.”
you stand up, going behind him to undo the two buns he keeps atop his head, “‘s alright, i have you, don’t i?” the locks of hair unravel like a pretty present as you massage the mop around, evening the spread of his pretty brown hair.
“that’s why i’m trying to teach you right now but you won’t even listen,” he softly whines in slight protest, distracted by the feeling of your fingers combing through his hair.
“i have a better idea- don’t you wanna have fun?” you twist yourself onto his lap, thighs fitting atop his as you straddle him. you twist your hand into a fist to garner a hold of his hair, pulling it back to lift his head to expose his pretty wide eyes.
“b-but-” he stammers, moving his head to the side to avoid your eye contact, not sure what excuse to use. you roughly pull his hair again to force him to face you again, a mewl falling from his lips.
you cut him off with a soft voice, “you want me to stop?” you press chaste kisses to his jaw and throat, leaving an especially hard one on his adam’s apple, a soft sigh slipping out from his mouth.
he groans, unable to find an answer in his now-muddled brain. “please-”
precious, sweet choso would never ever deny you in any way, always opting to let you do whatever you wanted for your own entertainment and satisfaction, even if it includes giving you his heart and body.
“please what, baby?” you smile lightly, knowing he would always give into pleasure, give into you.
“please make me cum,” his usual honeyed, deep voice is exchanged for a separate breathy, higher tone that’s reserved for your ears and your ears alone.
“all you had to say, bubs,” you lightly grind your core to his hardening, twitching cock, that seemingly was begging for some sort of stimulation that could help relieve the hot bubble that was forming in his lower belly.
something between a whine and a groan erupts from choso’s lips as you go in for another kiss, you swallowing up his sounds by connecting your lips.
“we’re in the library, darling. remember to be quiet, ‘kay?” you remind him with a sweet smile as if you weren’t the reason for his loud volume.
he whimpers, “s-sorry, mommy, please-” he chokes out, “c-can i put it in?”
you reach down and pull his cock out of his pants and give it a few jerks. “do you deserve it?”
choso scrunches his face in pleasure, eyes shut and lips wet with both his and your saliva. he manages to open his eyes a bit and breathe out, “yes- yes i do- please?” his brown orbs plead with you for stimulation- for pleasure- for mercy.
“put it in then, show me how desperate you are for me,” his fingers are fumbling around, pushing your skirt up and realizing you’re wearing his favorite lacy violet panties underneath, he groans quietly to himself admiring the wet spot on it for a second. set back on his prior mission, he pushes his cock into your panties, creating a large wet spot as he humps the scratchy material to find pleasure.
“my pretty prince, right? look at you, you just wanna get off, huh? i’ll let you use my pussy- so you better use it well.”
“thank- you, mommy,” he mewls softly before aligning himself with your hole. he quickly shoves it in- catching you off guard, forcing a hiss and moan from your lips that he quickly shuts up with a kiss that you dominate early on.
his hands have you in a vice-like grip that’s sure to leave bruises, holding you a few inches above his own body as his hips uncontrollably rut up into you, balls slapping on your buttcheeks.
“f-fuck- what would your parents say about this, huh? their p-precious little boy so desperate to cum inside of a woman?” you bite his earlobe, moaning directly into it, only serving to make choso’s dick impossibly harder.
“do-don’t-”
“don’t what, bubs? don’t tell your parents? but with how much you c-cum inside me, won’t we have to tell them when we have a b-baby?” you chortle in his ear, his face tinted red from embarrassment but still rutting up into you, desperately searching for release that feels so close with the way you’re clenching around him, still wanting to cum inside you as if it was his lifes goal.
“c-can’t- please- please let me cum inside.” he nearly sobs, his orgasm feeling like it’s approaching.
“don’t stop, don’t stop. you’re doing so so good for me, bubs. keep going- just a bit more, you’re almost there, baby,” you whisper into his ear, keenly aware of the effect your words have on him.
“please, please, please- let me-”
“you wanna cum? you wanna cum in me? give your parents a grandbaby? you want that huh- you want your parents to know what a dirty whore you are for wet pussy- my wet pussy? come, come inside me.” your filthy words spill out of your mouth and into his flushed ear like whispers of an eternal bliss in hell.
a chain of “yes”s leave his lips in needy murmurs as he nears his climax. his thrusts into you become shorter and sloppier as you hug him closer, quieting your own moans by putting forth effort in marking up his neck.
a long, languid moan is ripped out from choso’s chest with his hips still rutting into you, albeit slower now, steadily fucking his cum into you, although his cock is still semi-hard. “let me- let me make you cum, please?”
you breathily laugh, “keep fucking me, baby, i’m almost there.”
choso continues his actions through strained movements, overstimulating himself, still roughly but quietly moaning through his own pain and pleasure. pulling you closer and staring at your pretty face filled with pleasure, he seems to be mesmerized by every feature on your face that contorts to prove that you were finding as much bliss in this as he is.
“fuck, i’m close, baby. gonna make me cum? make me cum,” choso quickens his pace, grunting in exertion. with a hand slapped over your mouth to hold back your shriek, you cum, spasming around his cock. fucking you through your orgasm, choso whines. he was so focused on making you cum that he didn’t realize he was nearing his second orgasm and with one last thrust into you, he spills a second load into you.
“good boy, choso. you did so well,” your validation makes him feel tingles all around his stomach, butterflies awakening in his stomach.

this is something important about heartstopper that i think needs to be said, to aspec people specifically:
please be kind to isaac and the aroace representation we'll get come thursday.
aroace rep is something we get very rarely, especially on the screen. i can think of exactly two shows with aroace characters, and one of them is heartstopper. so it's not unfair of us to hope that we each get to see our experience represented in isaac.
but like. that's simply not going to happen.
isaac is one character. he can only represent one kind of experience about what being aroace entails. and every single aspec person has had a different experience with realising their identity and coming to terms with it. everyone has a different relationship with the complexities of their sexuality and labels.
and y'know, it could be disappointing to expect something from a character you thought was representing you and see them be something very different. hell, i can bet anything that at least a few aspec people will be completely disillusioned with whatever we'll get.
but 'i didn't like this' doesn't automatically mean 'it was bad'. maybe it means that 'this didn't represent me, which was sad, but it did represent some people, and it was a cornerstone in aroace representation in mainstream media as a whole, which is good.'
(i mean, i'm not saying there's a zero chance it'll be objectively bad and harmful rep, but the chance of that is extremely low, since alice is aroace themself. also, loveless is an amazing book)
i feel compelled to say this because we know that it's going to be a while before isaac is comfortable with his identity, which can be upsetting to watch because the 'you can't be happy without romance and whole without sex' is pushed pretty hard onto us on a regular basis, and there's this sort of defensiveness where we kind of want any fictional aroace characters to be immediately accepting of themself because no, we're actually very happy and completely whole without those things, thank you very much. this was the main criticism of loveless by many aspec people— that it didn't represent them because georgia struggled so much with her identity.
but. just because you personally didn't have to face that (and good for you!) doesn't mean it's not a very real experience many aroace people go through every day.
just because our first mainstream media rep of being aroace isn't an easy, feel good story, doesn't mean it's not important.
be as disappointed with isaac as you want if he doesn't represent you—but please still be kind to him. if we're too harsh in our criticism, the creators who worked on this story might feel discouraged from creating more aroace characters and stories.
more aspec rep, especially aro and aroace rep, is important! more rep means more variety! it means a greater chance of all of us finding stories we love and resonate to! but if we don't get everything we want the first time, please let's not call it bad and demotivate the very people who can give us more.

Zhongli x GN!Reader, Soulmate AU Part 2
Link to Part 1
Word count: ~2.5k
Tumblr media
He was waiting for you at the Stone Gate.
You hadn't known it was him at first, having taken to pointedly ignoring the sensations crawling up your arm from your soulmate mark once the phantom hand tugging you back to the harbor had turned clawed when you refused to listen to it.
Of course you could hardly be blamed for overlooking a lone tall man standing just at the edge of the border, his back to you as he looked out over Mondstadt's grassy plains. There was nothing particularly remarkable about him at first glance, save perhaps for his height and fine clothes. The way he stood—perfectly still with his hands clasped behind his back—made him seem more like part of the landscape than a living thing. It was only when you got close to him, just barely out of arm's reach as you made to walk past and he turned to face you, amber eyes meeting yours, that you realized who he was.
Your legs refused to move as though they'd been turned to stone, torn between hurtling back the way you'd come—as though attempting to run from a god a second time might somehow prove more successful—and throwing yourself the last precious distance between you and the border, like the invisible line of it would somehow protect you from whatever was to come.
Before you could commit to either however, your soulmate spoke.
"I apologize if the suddenness of our connection startled you, but it is very good to meet you at last." His voice was rich and smoother somehow than it had been during the rite, his expression one you could only describe as soft as he looked at you.
You'd thought gazing into the face of the dragon-qilin version of Rex Lapis was bad—somehow this was worse.
Words failed you as you stared at him. What were you even supposed to say? Your head felt like a hornets nest, thoughts flicking from excuses to questions to apologies until it turned into a garbled mess that made your temples throb.
"I don't…" you stammered out before petering off. Your chest felt funny, like it was trying to cave in on itself.
Rex Lapis looked you over from head to toe and whatever he saw caused his lips to press together slightly.
"You must be tired after the long journey here from the harbor. Come, you should rest for a moment." He moved to your side, a hand resting gently against the small of your back as he steered you away from the boundary of the nation of freedom and towards what appeared to be a modest tea stand nestled against the stone of one of the large cliffs making up the gate. You tried to protest, you really did, but your tongue felt like lead in your mouth, your skin prickling from how close you were to a literal god. Before you knew where you were, you'd been ushered to a table in the cornerーthe Archon only leaving your side to pull your chair out for you and then take the seat opposite.
The elderly man running the stand came over and Rex Lapis ordered for the pair of you while you watched mutely, noting that he’d seated you in a corner, placing himself between you and any route of escape. Your hands shook faintly where they rested against the chipped wood of the table.
Silence descended as the old man left to brew your tea, interrupted only by the faint howl of the wind against the cliffs. You fought not to fidget in the face of such blatant awkwardness, turning your attention instead to the other patrons scattered nearby. The young woman closest to you was dressed in a signature Adventurer’s Guild uniform, likely on her way to a commission judging by the heavy backpack rammed with supplies at her feet. Sitting a little further away were a couple with obviously graying hair, twin soulmate marks visible on their joined hands as they quietly enjoyed the view. A lump formed in your throat at the sight.
“You hail from Snezhnaya.” Your gaze snapped back at the sound of Rex Lapis’s voice. It wasn’t a question, but the tone left the statement open-ended, an offering of idle conversation in place of the one you should be having but obviously weren’t ready for.
Nodding, you mustered your courage and said quietly, “I came to Liyue three months ago.”
“May I ask what brought you here? It’s rather a long way to travel.”
“My grandmother. She… She was from Liyue, she used to tell me stories about the harbor and the er— the Adepti growing up. After she passed, I decided I wanted to see it for myself.” You stammerred your way through your explanation, all too aware that it was only a half truth—the rest being the obviously Liyuean symbols swirled into the soulmate mark inked starkly upon your skin.
“I am very sorry to hear of your loss," he said with a sincerity that put all the others you'd had this particular line of conversation with to shame. "Has it been all you expected, your time in Liyue?”
"That's…" You trailed off, dropping your gaze to the table. How were you supposed to comment on a nation when the god who'd presided over it for thousands of years was sitting right across from you?
Obviously picking up on your inner turmoil, Rex Lapis spoke again, "There's no need to be anxious, I would not ask if I did not want to hear an honest answer. Though I have played a part in shaping Liyue into what it is today, it is but one of the seven nations and I would not expect it to appeal to all."
Your drinks appeared just after he finished, providing a short but welcome reprieve as a warm cup was pressed into your hands. You inhaled deeply, the rich scent of expertly brewed green tea filling your nose as you did so. It was not until the old man had left that you gave your answer.
“It’s… prettier than I’d thought it would be. My grandmother always said the harbor was beautiful but it’s been another thing to see it in person.”
You glanced up quickly, meeting amber eyes through the faint trickle of steam rising from the cup in his hands. The Archon poised to take a sip, waiting for you to continue.
“Fitting in has been harder than I’d thought it would be. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, moving so far away from home, but I thought I’d done enough research that I’d be ready for it. I guess there’s nothing you can do to really prepare yourself for living somewhere completely new though.”
“Indeed, it’s true such adjustments can take time. Has it grown easier over the months you’ve been here at least?”
Not really, you thought. You’d been hoping that something would click upon meeting your soulmate, that you’d feel like you’d finally found your place in the world. Instead you now felt like you wanted to be anywhere but the land of contracts and stone.
It was that thought and the warmth seeping into your fingers that finally gave you the courage to stop dancing around the issue at hand. You shifted in your seat, straightening your back and lowering your shoulders so you looked at least a little more sure of yourself than you felt.
“Look, I think… I think there must have been some sort of mistake.”
Rex Lapis returned his cup to the table, the cor lapis gem on the back of his glove gleaming in the evening light.
“Mistake?”
“Yes, this—” you gestured between the two of you “—this can’t be right. I mean you’re a god and I’m just some human from a small village in Scheznaya—I don’t even have a vision. I don’t know that much about soulmate marks honestly,” you instinctively placed your hand over your left forearm, missing the way your conversation partner’s eyes zeroed in on the gesture, “but this has to be a false alarm or something.”
Rex Lapis’s expression remained neutral as he let out a deep exhale—it wasn’t quite a sigh but reminded you of the controlled breath someone might take before they had to explain something to a child.
“Over the many years I have watched over Liyue, I have been witness to numerous soulmate connections. While the reason behind a pairing is not always immediately obvious, not once have I observed a soulmark responding to anyone but the person’s intended. It’s true that differences in personal status between soulmates can act as a source of friction, though that is usually between families rather than the individuals themselves, something that will not prove to be an issue in our case.” He paused to take a sip of his tea, his movements measured and steady, a stark contrast to your white-knuckled grip on your own cup.
You were painfully aware of the sun slipping lower in the sky, the cliffs slowly being stained amber in the fading late. You’d hoped to be safely in Mondstadt before nightfall.
“And though it is not common knowledge,” Rex Lapis continued, returning his cup to the table, “ours is not the first case of an archon having a human for a soulmate.” Though the words were perhaps meant to serve as some sort of reassurance, his voice held a somewhat wistful tone, as though lost in a memory from long ago..
“I just—” you sucked in a breath, the words ‘never wanted something like this’ caught in the back of your throat. It was true, of course, you didn’t want the pressure of being soulmates with Liyue’s exalted archon; of being the supposed other half of a being you likely would never be able to truly understand, let alone measure up to. It felt unfair, however, to throw that in his face. There were tales up north of various ways the story could play out when one soulmate rejected the other, none of which ended well.
And it wasn’t as though he’d actually done anything to deserve your rejection either—you wanted to cast your connection aside because of what he was rather than anything he’d actually done. You weren’t sure you were really capable of that kind of cruelty, no matter how badly you might wish to vanish with the setting sun.
“This wasn’t what I expected,” you said finally, after a long period of uncomfortable quiet.
“And that is not something anyone would fault you for.” If Rex Lapis was upset by your lack of enthusiasm for the bond that existed between you, he made no show of it. “I doubt many who were not intimately familiar with the gods would dare to even dream of the possibility. I hope however,” he continued, his gaze falling to the mark hidden away underneath your sleeve, “that with time it will become easier to accept.”
You swallowed uncomfortably. It wasn’t the words themselves that made something in your guts twist—if anything you should probably be grateful that a deity referred to in some stories as the Warrior God was granting you so much grace—but there was a certainty in his voice as he said them that didn’t sit well with you.
Rex Lapis lifted his eyes from where your arms rested on the table, looking up at the slowly darkening sky. Taking a final sip of his tea he said, “It’s rather late for the return journey to the harbor, but there is an inn on the way that I believe we should be able to reach before nightfall.”
“I’m sorry, what do you mean we?” you asked in a small voice, casting a furtive glance towards the path to Mondstadt.
“Ah.” For the first time since you’d met the Archon, the slightest crack appeared in his composure, a minute shift in expression that you’d almost call bashful. The look was gone as quickly as it had appeared and you found yourself meeting the deep amber of his eyes.  “Please forgive my forwardness but I’m afraid it would be remiss of me to allow you to be exposed to the dangers that come with traveling alone at night, especially with… so few preparations.” A polite way of remarking on the fact you’d basically legged it with no supplies to your name.
“That’s…” You trail off, no good defense coming to mind as to why you should continue your journey alone with only the clothes on your back and scarcely a pocketful of mora.
As if sensing your desperate fumble for an excuse to not go with him, he continued, “If your business in Mondstadt is urgent then I will escort you come morning, once you have had adequate rest. Otherwise, perhaps it may be best to return after you’ve had a chance to recover from the shock of recent events. It has been some time since I last had reason to visit but I would be more than happy to share the sights with you after ensuring matters will run smoothly in Liyue for the course of my absence.”
“I—” The sun was only half visible at the horizon now and as it sank further you felt your hopes of slipping away go with it. “I barely have any mora on me, I’m not sure I can afford a night at an inn.”
“That will not be an issue, I am more than willing and able to cover any of your expenses. Speaking of which,” Rex Lapis placed a large pile of mora on the table and you felt your eyes nearly bulge out of your skull at the amount—it had to be many, many times however much your tea had actually cost. You were suddenly struck with the utter stupidity of trying to use a lack of mora as an excuse to the very being who was responsible for creating it. That and the fact you were completely out of ideas on how to get out of this situation short of simply making a run for it—a tactic which had failed to provide much success thus far.
“If you are feeling up to it, we should begin our journey to the inn now before it gets much darker.” He stood and rounded the table, extending a gloved hand out to you.
You were backed into a corner in every way that mattered, the stone of the cliffs at your back as unyielding as you suspected the god of this land was. With nowhere else left to go, you place your hand in his, the leather of his gloves cool against your skin as his fingers curl around your own. You could only hope you wouldn’t regret not trying to run when you had the chance.

Dirty Talk - Peter Parker
Tumblr media
Anonymous asked: Peter parker smut were he learns how to talk dirty?
hi anon! thanks for sending this in, hope you enjoy it. please read the warnings!
Peter Parker x Reader [Smut] Warnings: smut, semi public, dirty talking, very small mention of hair pulling, unprotected sex/no use of condoms, nervous/timid Peter, no aftercare mentioned Word Count: 1.5k
-
It was his idea that led to you two out on a balcony, naked and cold, during a party. The party was something to celebrate one of the latest missions that the Avengers succeeded in, and Peter had been horny the entire night after seeing you in a dress covered in smooth golden silk. It was incredibly beautiful, and you looked like the definition of beauty itself to Peter.
When he finally got to dance with you, he whispered, "Join me outside for a moment." And now you two are here.
Peter pushed you up against the wall, shivering slightly as the wind hit his back. You were nervous and cold as well, but the look in Peter's eyes was amazing. You've only really seen him like this when he really needed something, and lust now bit down on both of you.
"No one's going to see us. Everyone is busy inside, and there's no one on this side of the building that'll be able to see us from outside." He explained, lips traveling against your ear and then down to your neck.
But before you two could continue, Peter whispered to you, "What do you want?" And instantly you knew what to say. It was the perfect moment, and you knew if you asked him now, he would definitely want to try it. You two never really got to talk dirty to each other because sex was something usually more loving and calmer, compared to rough and dirty - something that Peter was willing to do now.
"Please, talk dirty to me." You mumbled back, and Peter somewhat froze, having no clue how to talk dirty. He watched some videos before about it - knowing it would come up in conversation sooner or later, but still he really was confused.
"Babe..." He trailed off, hesitating to tell you that he wouldn't be able to do that tonight. "I can't. I don't know how to." He whispered, finishing his sentence.
Your eyes widened slightly for a moment, looking into his eyes, wondering if he was joking. But he wasn't, you saw it. It didn't stop you though, as you wanted to continue with him no matter what right now.
Your legs pulled him in closer, and your hand tugged some of his hair. "Do you feel what I'm doing to you?" You asked him softly, your breathing increasing as you tried to control yourself from continuing.
"Yeah, I do." He whispered back, slightly confused, but wanting more. He kissed over one of the bruises you covered up for tonight, and you flinched slightly, a surprised gasp coming out from your mouth.
Your body now was flush against his, naked as ever. "Then tell me exactly what you want to do back to me. Tell me how I'm making you feel." You tried to explain, but it was a little difficult to explain. Peter understood you though, his eyebrows furrowed slightly as he tried to think about how to tell you.
"I want to kiss you until you're breathless... I want to see you feel good. I can make you feel good?" It almost came out as a question, but you smiled, trying to encourage him.
"Good!" You spoke up, now bringing his head back up to yours. You kissed him hard, and he kissed you back instantly. One of his hands slipped behind your head and protected your head from hitting the wall.
He quickly glanced to the window, making sure no one was around. They were all still on the dance floor, and everyone seemed to be drunk or entertained. He quickly went back to paying attention to you.
"Okay, um, I want to hear you say my name when I make you cum." He spoke again, a dark blush covering his face as he explained. You felt a surge of proudness come up, happy that he was trying.
"How are you going to make me cum, babe?" Your question only led him to nodding, and kissing you again. He was nervous to continue, feeling like he might mess up, but you didn't say anything about it before.
He pressed into you though, his cock twitching against your pussy slightly, making you moan. "Oh Peter... I need you. How are you going to make me cum? Are you going to make me sit out here all night without you?" Your voice came out again, trying to let Peter continue his expansion into dirty talking. He was doing really good so far! You could tell he was nervous though.
"You're doing so amazing babe." You whispered up to his ear, and he sighed out, feeling slightly relieved.
"I'm, uh I'm going to fuck you." He tried to say, but it stumbled out. He cursed slightly in his head for messing up, but you kissed his jaw, letting him try again.
"I'm going to fuck you until you're crying out loud for more. Even after you cum, you're going to want more of me." He tried again, now sounding more confident. You grinned against his cheek, now lifting your hips up, grinding against his.
"Then fuck me. What are you waiting for?" Your voice came out with some giggles, and Peter groaned, shaking his head slightly.
"Is it okay if I do?" He asked in a timid voice, but you instantly nodded back to him, letting him know it was okay.
"Yeah, of course. I want to feel your cock in me." You responded and his eyebrows jumped up in surprise at the need in your tone that he could hear.
Instead of replying, he pushed his cock up into you slowly, pausing as he groaned out your name in a slight cry. This was so much better than trying to talk dirty.
"Just like that, Peter, give me more, please, I need more! Tell me what you want me to do, what you're going to do to me, please!" You moaned, eyes fluttering as he pressed his cock all the way into you slowly.
As he settled in, his eyes landed on yours and he felt a rush of confidence fly into his brain as he started to spew some dirty talk.
"I'm going to fuck you so hard. You love it, don't you? You're such a good slut, huh? My little good slut." He stuttered at the end, feeling wrong for calling you such a thing but you clenched around him tightly at that - making him wonder if you liked the degradation. It was something he's heard a lot in the stuff he's watched.
"Do you like being called that? Slut?" He asked timidly this time as he pulled out of you before thrusting up again, going in and out at a set pace.
"Yes, baby, I'm your good slut, I'm yours. Only your little good slut." You encouraged him, whimpering as his dick hit you just at the right angle, he grinned and started to fuck you harder.
"Are you going to cum, slut? Huh, wanna come on this dick? Whose pussy does this belong to? Only me. You're mine, only mine. And I'm yours too." He rambled, a bit of it feeling like gibberish was coming out of his mouth but he knew it was all some dirty talk that he hoped you'd enjoy.
It seemed like you did because you moaned and kissed his lips again, with more passion. It was an open wet kiss that had Peter sinking into you deeper and faster.
“I’m going to cum, sir. Can I cum please?” You asked, whimpering, and crying against his mouth. You two didn’t care how loud you were being because of how intense it was. Peter really forgot that you were both at an event with the rest of the avengers.
“Yes, be good and cum for me, only me.” He voiced out just as soon as you started to cum hard. Your orgasm was loud, and had you panting against him, weakly holding his hair in your hands. He followed soon after, but he pulled out, coming on the side of the balcony that you two were on, still hidden from view.
His cum came out in ropes and ropes, spurting onto the floor.
“That was so hot, Peter!” You spoke up a minute later, after calming down from your orgasm. He nodded weakly back to you with a dopey smile on his face.
“I think I like dirty talk now.” He laughed and you smiled at him, silently thanking him for giving it a try. He pulled you into a hug once you two were sorted out and dressed again.
“Shall we?” You asked – pointing to the door. He gave you a grin as he pulled you back into the room.

Adore You ☠︎︎ Shanks x Fem! Reader
Tumblr media
a/n: apologies for the disappearing act, but I’m back and I come baring gifts of soft! Shanks.
warnings: shittily proof read, mentions of bullet wounds, language, fluff (still don’t get why fluff is a warning), kinda short but sweet.
It was stupid and it was reckless and you knew that. But for Shanks? Anything.
In the heat of the moment you took a bullet meant for your captain, and even now as you lay wounded and fatigued, you still have yet to regret a thing. Hell, you’d probably do it again.
You woke up, head pounding as your eyes scanned the surround area. A wave of relief washed over you upon noticing familiar decor and warm wood panels. You were back on the Red Force, in the sanctity of your own bunk.
A light cough caught your attention and your eyes fell to the door where Shanks leaned, resting against the frame, staring at you. He didn’t look angry per say but unpleasantry was written on his face.
You were racking your mind, trying to think of something- anything to say. Something that might ease both his mind and his sour gaze.
You tried opening your mouth hoping the words would find you on their way out, but he just shushed you.
Love makes people do crazy things and maybe you panicked, but he won’t entertain whatever reason you had. He didn’t blame you, of course. How could he? It wasn’t your fault. For fucks sake, right now Shanks blamed everyone but you. The enemy, the word, himself.
Letting out a deep chested sigh, Shanks slowly made his way you to your side, his gaze softening in the process. “it doesn’t matter. Whatever you had say, whatever excuses you were going to make,” he paused, moving a strand of hair away from your sweat deluged forehead. “it doesn’t matter. I owe you my life and I am lucky to have someone like you by my side. But my sweet girl, you must understand how reckless that was. I'd rather get myself shot than have you bedridden in exchange for my safety.”
Smiling tight-lipped, you nod saying. “I can’t promise it won’t happen again. Not unless you can promise to stop getting yourself into such compromising situations.”
Shanks almost laughs, and you frown. “I’m being serious, Shanks. Surprisingly I have yet figure out what exactly it is about you that provokes others to start shooting, but it needs to stop.”
But his smirk only grows. Reaching down he touches your face, caressing it gently and turning it to the side. His thumb running down a fresh bruise as he tuts, not at you, but at the situation. “I’ll try my best, but you know as well I, if someone else starts it then that’s out of my control.” His smirk turns to a smile as he presses a quick kiss to the top of your head. You let out a hum in response, leaning into his touch.
“I adore you.” He mutters into your hair.

-Back on the Beat-
Part 4. 06
One year later
November 19th, 9:50pm
Kim hits a high note and the crowd goes wild.
He’s sweaty and high on adrenaline, approaching the end of his largest show yet.
It’s only a few hundred people, but it’s also a sold out show, and Kim still feels a little overwhelmed with that knowledge.
Tumblr media
Porchay is in the crowd.
He had walked into their apartment five weeks ago and announced to Kim that he was going to celebrate the end of his first year of university by devoting himself wholly to being WiK’s #1 fan; a job he then applied himself to with as much, if not more gusto than he applied himself to studying medicine.
He looks ridiculous right now, dressed head to toe in unofficial, homemade WiK merch. He’s also holding a handmade sign above his head and Kim has to stop himself from smiling like an idiot every time he looks over at him so his fans don’t start rumours.
They'd agreed to keep their relationship on the down-low, for now. Only while Kim builds his audience, since being single sells.
Tumblr media
He holds Chay’s gaze throughout the entirety of the song they wrote together and the people around Chay are definitely noticing. Kim isn’t doing a very good job at being subtle, he thinks.
Oh well.
He’s exhausted, but he raises his arms over his head and makes a heart with his fingers to thank his audience as he closes the set. The crowd goes wild once more and Chay is giggling into his hand over something.
He’s so cute.
He’s probably laughing at Kim though, Kim thinks warily.
~~~
A few days later, Chay announces that a photo of Kim from his concert is going viral on twitter and is doing wonders to boost his popularity both nationally and internationally. Something about people thinking he’s cute?
Kim considers how much he can press and the wary way the bodyguards back at the compound look at him when he walks past.
He’s definitely not cute.
Porchay won’t let him see his phone though, and he can't be bothered to check himself.
Whatever. So long as it’s getting him good reviews.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
May 23rd, 6:05pm - a few months earlier
“I think Jimbo likes you more than me now.”
Porchay scoffs. “That’s just because I’m the one who feeds him most of the time. You’re always out these days, being all popular and in demand. What will we do when you become proper famous?”
“You don’t like having a popular boyfriend?” Kim pouts, turning to look at Porchay from where he lies on the bed, watching him play with their cat. Porchay only moved in last week, yet he’s taken on being a cat parent like nothing else. Kim has barely even cleaned the litter this past week. It’s been a weird disruption to his daily routine, but it has given him a lot less to worry about with his increasingly erratic schedule.
He released the song they wrote together last month and it hit the national top 10. He’s had three different studios reach out, wanting to sign him.
Kim tries not to think about it too much; it’s too overwhelming, how good he feels about it. The bars he usually performs in are starting to become too small for the crowd that he draws.
He should probably hire a manager.
Porchay looks up at him. “P’Kim as your biggest fan, I could not be more thrilled to be dating my idol. It’s like I’m living inside of a fanfiction.”
Kim hums, hesitant.
“Does that mean we get to live happily ever after?”
It’s way too soon, they’ve only been together six months. Kim was ready to spend his life with Chay from the moment Chay unblocked him, but he’s pretty sure there are rules around these things.
Kim isn’t good at this. Porchay told him so himself… though he was smiling at him fondly when he did.
He’s smiling that same smile at him again now.
“Yeah,” Chay says, soft. “We get to live happily ever after, p’Kim.”
Tumblr media
February 10th, 9:28am
“I want to study medicine.”
Porsche looks at him with almost comical surprise, and Porchay tries not to laugh at his expression.
They’re out at their new weekly brunch date together, and Chay has been waiting for the right moment to bring this topic up. He’s spent a lot of time over the past few months, both on his own and with Kim’s help, figuring out what he wants to do with his future. He’s feeling pretty confident in his choice, but he hasn’t even begun looking at universities yet and enrollments are coming up soon.
“I’m not sure what field I want to specialise in yet, but I’ve thought a lot about it and medicine feels like the right direction for me. I should have at least a year of classes before I have to choose my field - I want to feel it out a little and see what feels right for me. I was hoping you could help me look at university courses?”
Porsche puts his fork down and settles back, serious but obviously trying to hold back his glee. “Of course, Chay. We can get you into any university you want.”
“No!” Chay interrupts him, “I want to get in on my own merit. I only want help finding a good course… please…”
Porsche smiles at him, big and wide and happy. “You can do it! Come around here, let’s start now!”
Chay gets up and moves around to join Porsche on his side of the table, bringing his phone with him.
“Okay, so I’ve already been looking at a couple courses. Tell me what you think, hia…”
Tumblr media
February 6th, 11:39pm
“What about some sort of doctor?”
Porchay looks up at Kim.
They’ve been going through lists upon lists of career ideas and quizzes and self help guides. It’s been nearly four hours and Porchay really shouldn’t have been as surprised as he was with the seriousness and intensity at which Kim approached the task.
Kim loves solving cases and sorting through things. It’s something Porchay discovered recently, and even though the topics themselves sometimes aren’t so cute, the way Kim gets when he has something to solve in front of him definitely is.
He reaches over to smooth the little furrow between Kim's brows. “What kind of doctor?”
“I don’t know. You said before that you wanted to do something to help people, but didn’t put your own self at risk.” He's right, but it’s also a little left field. All the results from Porchay’s quizzes have pointed him in the direction of something creative, and they haven’t done much research outside of creative careers yet.
Doctor.
Porchay thinks about Porsche and his new, scary job. He thinks about Kim and his tendency to push himself too hard.
He thinks about Khun, and Kinn and all the bodyguards.
Doctor.
Yeah. Something about that feels right.
Tumblr media
January 26th, 10:45am
It’s their two month anniversary and Porchay is nearly jumping on his heels as he waits in the lobby of Kim's building. Kim approaches slowly, trying to look cool and not at all as nervous as he feels inside.
Chay has been secretive about today, only telling Kim to keep his schedule completely clear. He's been distracted every time they've seen each other over the past couple of weeks abd Kim has had to put a surprising amount of effort into not trying to suss out what Chay has been planning for them.
An effort that proved even more challenging when Khun's crytic texts began rolling in even couple of days.
Tumblr media
Of course it turns out Khun was on the money with everything. As usual.
November 28th, 10:35am
“I’m a little nervous.” Chay is sitting across from him, boba tea in hand and a light flush to his cheeks.
They’re at their usual boba tea spot, but it’s also their first date.
Kim is feeling the same.
“Mmmm.”
Chay laughs at him lightly. “P’Kim! Are you nervous too? You’ve hardly said anything since we got here.”
Kim takes a moment to consider, looking up from his tea at Chay’s slowly growing smile.
“...mmmm.” Chay laughs loudly enough that a few people around them turn in their direction. Kim smiles.
Success.
A Dash of Villainy within a Hero, Part Two
Part One can be found here. Warnings ahead for murder and mentioned/implied though not graphic torture, mind manipulation and human experiments. Please take care of yourselves.
***
'I know a place' Madness had said after Song had landed, dropping him first and keeping her wings slightly flared after touching down with you, keeping a wary eye on him. You knew the only reason she didn't protest his presence was her trust in you. She trusted that you had a reason for this.
So you had followed Madness with careful caution, for there was no way either of you would lead him to your little hideout for the conversation you all wanted to have.
And, well, considering the glimpses of what you had gotten this night, it looked like you would need allies. You had no idea if villain allies were the way to go, but in this instance it might be something to consider.
Madness led you through a complicated route after sending a text and receiving one in return. The old house he ended up stopping in front was most likely a safehouse that he was going to burn after bringing Song and you here.
To your surprise, there was already someone waiting inside. A kid, sixteen at most and once they opened their mouth and said, "Hey!" you immediately recognized Doctor.
You felt Song tense at your back, heard the ruffle of her wings. Song had always had a massive soft spot for kids and even you had to admit that it unsettled you whenever underage villains or heroes showed up. The latter at least were put into training and were sent out with mentors until they were eighteen, but villain kids seemed to have fewer protections.
You glanced at Madness and noticed the way he watched you and Song from the corner of his eye, the angle of his body. He was ready to protect the kid, no matter what and somehow that made you feel a little bit better.
You were suddenly glad that Doctor was largely known for breaking in and stealing or destroying things and less for going up against heroes the way Madness did. The thought of having attacked a kid made you feel vaguely ill.
"So, I heard you know about Phoenix Project now," Doctor said, casting a quick glance at Madness, their shoulders relaxing a tad at whatever they saw on his face.
"Someone tried to kidnap me last night," Song answered. "Do you know anything about that?"
Doctor glanced at Madness again, a silent conversation taking place that ended with Madness sighing and Doctor looking smugly happy.
"Possibly," Doctor said and reached over the counter of the kitchen island and produced a laptop. They opened it, tapping away with quick fingers and then held it out.
Song and you stepped forward, you taking the laptop while Song leaned a bit onto your back, one wing coming up to curl against you as she looked over your shoulder.
"We don't know a whole lot yet," Doctor said, voice quieter than before and you still tracked Madness from the corner of your eye as he came to stand beside the kid.
His eyes were a slightly darker violet when you glanced up. He was trusting you around Doctor about as much as you trusted him around Song, it seemed.
Then you focused on what was on the laptop and the more you read, the grimmer you grew. Doctor and Madness had created a chart, heroes retiring without ever being seen again, or dying with no proper proof of their death. They had even dug up a few caskets, only to find them empty.
And then they had stumbled across the term Phoenix Project and had traced it back to The Defenders. Where you had most likely run into Madness after he had broken in.
And now you had the name of someone involved in whatever the project was, one of your higher ups.
"Why do you care?" Song asked, looking up while you studied the chart again. There were more heroes they considered 'missing' rather than dead than you had thought.
Doctor was silent for a long moment, then sighed heavily. "My older brother," they said quietly. "He was a hero and one day a year ago we got a call, that he died in the field. It was a closed casket funeral because of how mangled and burnt he supposedly was."
You glanced up and the kid looked angry and grieving and mulish. "I believed it at first," they continued. "But I kept thinking that something was off. When I asked his teammate, Quake, he was super evasive. And, uh, maybe one night I got super drunk and decided to dig him up. To see for myself that he was really gone. But his casket was empty."
Quake. It seemed he was another person you should chat with. You pulled out your phone after handing the laptop to a very quiet Song, showing Doctor and Madness the photos you had taken, catching them up on what you and Song knew.
Song glanced at you. "Guess who knows where Quake lives," she said and you found yourself grinning. It was not a nice grin.
"How about we extend our truce?" Madness offered and when you looked up, he had a smile on his face that looked the way your grin must have. "I bet my powers come in handy for interrogations."
As would yours. Song glanced between you and Madness and you could tell that she was imagining the sort of 'questioning' you two would create. She knew that you would not hesitate to hurt Quake in order to get your answers.
You weren't as much of a good person as Song was. After what he had intended to do, what he had already done to Song, you absolutely were vindictive. A part of you hoped he would resist interrogation.
"If we do this," Song said quietly, "We may never be able to be heroes again."
"And if we do nothing and they catch up with us, I am dead and you will get dragged off to whatever and wherever this Phoenix Project is," you answered and she grimaced but didn't argue.
"Alright," Song said after a moment of silence, her voice grim. "I'll lead the way."
*.*.*
Quake was visibly agitated. He was pacing and continuously calling someone. Dawn was only just starting to break and despite this being a very long night, you were too wired to feel tired.
Whoever Quake wanted to contact, he clearly wasn't getting through.
Crouching side by side with Madness was...quite frankly, it was very weird. There was no way you trusted him, nor did you stop tracking his movements from the corner of your eye. It was best to be cautious, especially with someone who could mess with your mind at the drop of a hat.
"I can send him to sleep," Madness whispered and when you glanced at him, one brow raised, he shrugged. "My powers can do more than drive people to temporary insanity."
"Never would have guessed," you muttered and at his unimpressed look, you gestured for him to go ahead.
Madness moved cat-quiet, lowering himself from the ledge of the building to set down on the balcony across from Quake's home. You felt the hum of his power in the air, as did Quake, but he reacted too late. Most people reacted too late, and even then all one could do was try to run to escape from Madness' range.
Quake's eyes rolled back and he dropped limp to the floor. You felt Song's hand grip the back of your jacket and a moment later you were airborne. She dropped you onto Quake's balcony and landed, shifting her wing to the side to make space for Madness to leap across.
Breaking into the apartment was easy and it looked exactly like the sort of place a hero like Quake could afford. Until you looked closer and you saw that everything around you was expensive and new.
From his fridge to his dishwasher, shiny marble countertops and solid wood furniture, things had been paid for with the sort of money Quake shouldn't have.
Little rat.
You dragged Quake away from the windows to his bedroom, where Madness pulled the curtain closed beforehand and Song took up a sentinel position.
"Alright, ready?" Madness asked as soon as Quake was tied to a chair and you gave him a nod. A moment later, Quake woke with a ragged gasp. He was, unsurprisingly, not pleased.
"Traitor," he hissed at you and you couldn't help but bark out a sharp, incredulous laugh.
"Pot, meet kettle," you said with a grin that was more a baring of teeth. "Tell me, how soon after Nightingale's disappearance would you have found a way to murder me?"
Quake grit his teeth but mulishly kept his mouth shut. "Madness," you said with such artificial sweetness your voice rivaled overly sweet, artificially colorful candy. "Would you like the honors?"
"My, I thought you would never ask," Madness answered with that same sort of over-the-top sugary sweet voice. "With pleasure."
He reached out a hand and you felt dark satisfaction at seeing Quake's eyes grow wide in fear. You shoved some of his balled up socks into his mouth just in time to muffle his howling.
Madness eased up after a moment and Quake was panting, his face having rapidly grown damp with sweat. He spat out his socks, shivering and gasping and his eyes were darting from side to side wildly.
From witness accounts you knew, while people didn't remember whatever Madness had put into their heads, the intense fear lingered. It faded within a half an hour, leaving them confused and vaguely unsettled, but nothing else.
"Now," you said and snapped your fingers together, creating brief sparks. "Wanna talk or do I get to play too?"
Quake swallowed harshly and audibly and you saw the exact moment he caved, the panicked hopelessness that gave way to grim resignation. Pity, you really would have loved to hurt him a bit for what he had done to Song.
"I'll tell you what I know," he grit out and you clapped your hands together, smiling brightly.
"How lovely, but do be truthful or my new friend here is going to have another jaunt in your gray matter."
Madness shifted his stance to something smugly satisfied, looking for all the world like a relaxed big cat after a successful hunt. "Indeed. Now, what do you know about the Phoenix Project?"
Quake swallowed again and seemed to want to resist just a little anyway – hero pride, you didn't blame him for that – before he caved, "I know they want heroes for it. The occasional villain too." He shrugged. "It's not really like the public can check the prison records."
You hadn't even thought about how unexpectedly...vulnerable captured villains could be. Considering the way a muscle in Madness's cheek jumped, neither had he.
"Who is involved?" Madness asked and Quake wet his lips.
"I don't know." He saw you lift your hand and Madness' eyes grew dark and hurriedly added, "I'm serious. I get a burner phone and laptop when I'm supposed to get them a hero or a villain."
"Who introduced you to them?" you asked and Quake looked away.
"I...might have done some illegal things," he said, shoulders hunching a bit. "And whoever 'they' are, they found out. I had a package delivered home, with copies of their evidence and demands to do what they wanted or I could kiss my job and reputation goodbye."
"And people like you dare to call themselves heroes," Madness sneered and you couldn't help but agree. What a selfish coward.
Quake gave up the rest of the information willingly. He told you which devices the information was on, that he had tried to gather as much blackmail as he could in return. He told you the passwords for all of his things and at last, Madness reached out and touched his forehead.
Quake went limp, staring dully into nothing, his breathing slow and even.
"Don't ask what I did," Madness said without looking at you. "And don't say he didn't deserve it."
You could take an educated guess on what he might have done, considering Quake's catatonic, empty eyed state. You shrugged. "I won't complain." Madness looked at you, surprise openly visible on his face.
You held his gaze. "Don't think you're the only vindictive one, Madness. He hurt my friend and tried to kill me and he has done so to other heroes in the past. Leave him trapped in nightmares for eternity for all I care."
As you left to join Song in the living room and start collecting Quake's things, you felt Madness' gaze on your back. Weirdly enough, the hostile air from before was gone.
Instead, he seemed almost...thoughtful.
*.*.*
Madness was infuriating and maddening and brilliant and you had to admit, after weeks of working together to uncover more about Phoenix Project, he was, maybe, possibly, perhaps growing on you. Like stinky fungus.
You could admit that you were grateful to him and Doctor. Thanks to the two villains Song and you had an actually safe place to hide in without going mad in the process. They offered protection as well, more than Song and you would have had on your own.
And tonight, at long last, you had a chance to get your hands at your former superior. Both Song and you had been declared rogues and to be captured upon sight for questioning.
Song, sadly, had a hard time going anywhere incognito, her wings were a dead giveaway, so she was staying in the hideout a lot. It wasn't easy on her, but Doctor had found an old factory, a place with incredibly high ceilings so she could at least fly around and train.
Which meant you were teaming up with Madness in the meantime.
You once again crouched at the ledge of a building and watched the woman you were after leave her car, her butler opening the door to her mansion for her. The very same mansion you were already crouching on, ready to strike.
"Pretentious," you muttered, just as Madness whispered, "Tacky."
You didn't look at him, but you felt a smile tug at the corners of your mouth. It was perhaps softer than the usual sharp, toothy smiles that you aimed his way.
"Let's go," you whispered and got up, Madness following you.
With your powers it was easy enough to disable the lock on the rooftop door and slip inside. Madness took care of all the guards, though he was far gentler with the maid and butler, who he caught after putting them into a dreamless sleep for the next hour or so.
And then you were back to the fun part: questioning assholes.
The woman, a hero who had retired early and had made a ridiculous amount of money by taking a top-notch position in The Defenders, blustered and threatened but caved almost just as quickly as Quake head.
One of these days you'd have to ask Madness what exactly he was putting into people's heads.
This time, at least, you got some zaps in before the former hero, Paralytica, gave up. She had far, far more information than Quake and while it took some more persuading in-between the questions, you at last got names. You got names and you got a place.
"You won't get away with this," Paralytica snarled, sweating and panting and trembling slightly in the chair she was tied to.
You sent all the information on her computer to Doctor, who would make sure nothing could be traced back to them. Her gaze burned into your side. "I will have you hunted down like the mangy dog you are."
Before you could so much as roll your eyes, Madness had gripped her head, making her flinch and go very still, her eyes wide. "And yet, somehow, this 'mangy dog' is worth more than all of you combined." Madness' eyes were a dark violet when they met your surprised gaze. "I might even start believing in heroes again."
You looked away, a near overwhelming mixture of emotions rising within you at his words. You felt touched and all soft and gooey-sweet inside and at the same time, you wanted to bluster and curse at him. Stupid asshole, what was his deal, saying nice things out of nowhere? That wasn't what you did, you sniped and argued and verbally elbow-checked each other. Not whatever...whatever this was.
"We're done here," you said just as the door was kicked down and previously silent heroes rushed in.
Paralytica had just one second of smirking in ugly triumph, before Madness' eyes turned almost black, his grip on her head tightening. She went limp, staring into nothing like Quake had, while the two of you sprung into hurried movement.
Madness wanted to fight, but when you hauled ass for the window, to your surprise, he followed instead of going on the offense. You jumped first, arms raised to protect your face, while he tossed out his powers, sending the all but one of the heroes to their knees with screeching, blood curdling screams.
You landed on soft grass, surrounded by glass shards and looking up just as Madness was forced to topple backwards out the window by a powerful, telekinetic wave. Huh. The Defenders had dug out one of ten people capable of withstanding Madness' powers it seemed.
You didn't even think about it as you took a step forward, arms rising and you grunted as you caught him. He wasn't too heavy thankfully, especially since you were used to lugging Song's weight around in training.
His eyes were wide in surprise and the next moment you tightened your grip and zipped away with him. You were faster than Madness, even with his added weight. You were among the top ten fastest heroes currently employed in The Defenders and it really came in handy right now.
Or well, formerly employed, you were pretty sure after today at the latest your fellow heroes would no longer consider you one of them.
The moment you were far enough from the mansion, you set Madness down, clapping him on the shoulder, "Let's scram."
You felt his gaze on your back again, staring and strangely heated.
*.*.*
You winced when you heard something break, exchanging a look with Song. Doctor wanted to come to the location where the Phoenix Project was supposedly taking place, while Madness was very much not in agreement. They were arguing very loudly and intensely.
"I'm not letting you risk your life!" Madness shouted.
"That is not your decision!" Doctor screamed back. "This is about my brother, you fucking asshole. I know you don't care, but I sure as shit do -"
"I care about you," Madness snapped back, Doctor falling silent. In a forcibly calmer voice, Madness continued, "I want you to have a life, to actually get to enjoy having your brother back. He'll need you. Whatever they've done to him in that hellhole, he's not going to be alright."
"If he's alive at all." You could barely heard Doctor's voice now. "And he'll be so disappointed in me. He always said I could do so much good with my brain."
"And you will," Madness said, voice as unyielding as the ocean tide. "Look at all your inventions, at all the good you will do for the medical field once you are ready. He can't blame you for taking what routes you had available in order to find him. Just let me go in and help me from the outside, like usual. Alright?"
"But what if something happens to you?" Doctor's voice was unexpectedly small. "I don't have anyone else, you know? No one else listened to some scrawny kid, especially not a dead hero's sibling."
"I'm not alone," Madness said and you felt a jolt at surprise at his words. You hadn't expected that he'd believe Song and you would watch his back. And you would protect him, you owed the infuriating man that much at least. "I'll have someone at my side and you for backup."
Doctor huffed a soft sound that was almost a laugh. "I thought heroes were pretentious bullshit people selling a long dead dream?"
"Most of them are. But...maybe there are one or two that are alright," Madness said and his voice had gone a little softer around the edges in a way that did funny things to your insides.
Oh. ...oh fuck no.
When you glanced at Song, feeling slightly panicky, she blinked, then snorted. "Finally figured it out, huh?"
You made a face at her, she made one right back and you gladly hopped upon the distraction. That was how Doctor and Madness found you, with your tongue sticking out at Song, who was wriggling her fingers at you beside her temples.
"Children," Madness said with a mock-heavy voice. "I am surrounded by children."
"And I am surrounded by idiots, but what else is new," Doctor shot back and before you knew it, you were laughing.
It was a mixture of stress release, nervous realization about feelings and giddy anticipation for the upcoming infiltration. Along with the simple fact that Doctor was right, they were incredibly smart.
It had also been a while since you had last laughed like this and Song's smile turned warm, one of her wings extending to curl around your shoulders.
To your surprise, even Madness seemed to soften, a little smile playing in the corners of his mouth that had no right to look this cute. You forcibly shook the thought away. You had no reason to look at a villain and consider him cute. That would only end in disaster. Any of these newly realized, far too soft and squishy feelings would only end in disaster.
Heroes and villains didn't work out, that was a song as old as time.
"So," Song said, removing her wing to shake them both out. "What's the plan?"
The plan wasn't overly complicated. None of you were under any illusions about this. You didn't have the forces to storm the old prison the Phoenix Project was in, but you could infiltrate the place, set as many if not all of the captives free and gather enough information to present a case to fellow villains and heroes respectively.
The Defenders itself wasn't involved in the whole thing, but enough people in high positions along with a good handful of heroes were corrupt to cause problems. You would need a lot of good, hard evidence to convince everyone else of the truth. To make them fight back and clean the rot out of their ranks.
Villains didn't care about the troubles of heroes, but they would not like the thought of getting kidnapped once heroes defeated and imprisoned them either. Most villains were solo fighters and crusaders, but Madness had mentioned that there was a sort of unspoken codex.
That sometimes, if necessary, all the different people and factions worked together to protect their collective future. And considering that goal of the Phoenix Project was to create synthetic powers or transplant powers, this would be of interest to many.
Who knew what other goals the Phoenix Project had, Paralytica hadn't known everything after all. She had just been interested in making more money.
"Song and I will create chaos," Madness said. "While Doctor's robot and you will infiltrate the building."
"I insulated my little helper well enough that he should be able to withstand your powers to a certain degree," Doctor said when you glanced at them. "And I can make it explode if necessary. It packs quite the punch."
Which was how you found yourself squished into a box in the back of a truck. Doctor had been the one to figure out the deliver routes to the old prison and now you were going to infiltrate the place through the backdoor. With a robot squished in beside you, all hard metal edges that were going to leave some weird looking bruises.
You were meant to wait until chaos broke out and sneak your way further in, hopefully encountering less resistance. No one would look at the delivery ramp when Song and Madness were attacking one of the side entrances. The main entrance would have made it too obvious that they were just the diversion.
The moment the box was set down with a grunt and people complaining how heavy it was, alarm sirens rang out shrilly and shouts were heard muffled through doors.
You waited until you couldn't hear rushing footsteps anymore, before you cracked the top of the crate open and slipped outside. Doctor's robot followed you silently and with surprising smoothness. The kid was really going to revolutionize so many fields once they went public with their inventions.
You had a comparatively easy time slipping inside, knocking out distracted guards as you went. Doctor's sleeping darts helped a lot too, if you couldn't sneak up on people to touch them.
You got a brief glance out the window once to see Song and Madness fighting in tandem, people littering the ground around them. Some were clutching their heads, screaming, others just grew slow and sluggish and then fell asleep the moment they heard Song's lullaby.
They were a nasty team, you had to admit. If Song had turned to villainy instead of heroism and those two had ended up working together, the world of heroics might just have been thoroughly fucked.
"This way," Doctor hissed through the speaker on the robot, which looked more like some kind of alien dog than humanoid. They had mentioned it had made balancing easier at the time of its creation.
Doctor and you made it up to the main control room, which doubled as an office for the big boss, with relative ease. You cracked open windows along the way to let Song's song in, your special ear plugs – made back when Song and you first started heroing – the only thing currently keeping you safe.
People inside the building grew ever more sluggish and sleepy, which made it easier to take them out. If they weren't already asleep by the time you snuck past them.
"I'll get the data," Doctor said the moment you knocked out the big boss of the place – a tall, muscular man with a shaved head that had turned a startling, angry red when he had spotted you too late. "You go free the prisoners."
You went to the control panel at the side of the room and started flicking switches. On the monitors cell doors opened with metallic screeching and the first person stepped outside.
You were horrified to recognize her as Supernova, a famous hero celebrity that had been widely mourned after her death. Even on the slightly grainy feed she looked half skeletal and very, very desperately determined.
You bit back a wince when she immediately tossed out her powers, shredding guards that rushed towards her with a miniature black hole. Supernova had never killed before, if anything she had been so very careful to never hurt anyone with her destructive powers. She staggered and sagged, only to be caught by a villain who had rushed out of the neighboring cell.
You recognized that one too. Their name was Sun and they pulled one of Supernova's arms over their shoulders, slamming a foot against the ground and making it erupt with intense enough fire and heat that you heard people scream somewhere outside the camera focus.
More and more heroes and villains left their cells, all working together to break out. To help each other escape. Not a single one was left behind. It seemed you wouldn't have to tear the place down later after all, not much would be left standing in the aftermath of their escape. Good.
"My brother?" Doctor asked, sounding half focused and half desperate.
"I haven't seen him in the cells," you answered and you heard the click-clack of the keyboard grow faster.
"Found him!" Doctor half shouted. "He's currently in one of the examination rooms."
"I'll go get him," you said. "You focus on downloading everything."
"Understood," Doctor's robot looked up briefly, the single camera lens visibly focusing on you. "Please, be careful."
You threw him a quick salute before you slipped out of the room. The old prison was in such brutal chaos, people running and rushing about, the smart ones even running away, that you had it laughably easy.
The examination rooms were half filled with doctors and a handful of heroes and villains when you arrived. The electronic doors were locked and the doctors looked tense but vaguely, grimly victorious at the same time. They considered themselves safe, behind these thick, reinforced doors that could withstand a lot of superpowers.
But this was where your powers really came in handy, because they could not keep you out if you fried their pretty little mechanical doors to death.
Those doors always clicked open when they were overloaded, a safety mechanism to avoid locking people in, in case of emergencies. They had to be able to leave if they wanted to after all. You made quick work of the doctors, most which had no powers at all.
The second you had knocked out the first set of doctors and freed two of the people on the tables, they threw themselves into the fight alongside you. They didn't have much stamina anymore, but they were fierce, bringing with them a brutality born out of a soul-deep desperation to finally make it out. They knew this might very well be their only chance to escape.
You found Doctor's brother last, he was unconscious and looked rather awful. Scarred and thin and visibly exhausted even as he laid there limply. You pulled the needle out of his arm – it was most likely feeding him sedatives – and threw him over your shoulder.
"Everyone out," you shouted just as the last doctor fell after a big, burly woman had grabbed his head and slammed it hard enough against the wall that you knew this man was never going to get up again.
In all honesty, you did not care, there was even a part of you that felt quietly and darkly vindictive. If anyone asked you, those people had gotten their just desserts – if anything, they deserved worse.
As you led the group of limping, swaying people up the stairs, most of them supporting each other to keep going, acrid and thick smells filled the air. Smoke and acid and ozone, along with something that tasted metallic on your tongue.
You made it past people half dissolved in acid, past scorch marks and walls that looked like they had turned liquid and pierced inward, impaling guards, before turning solid again.
Doctor's robot slid up to your side as you rushed towards the delivery hangar and you heard his audible gasp as he saw his brother across your shoulder.
You heard more gasps and even a sob as you broke out the door and into sunlight. There was an audible fight still going on elsewhere, so you entrusted Doctor's brother to his robot and told the group to follow them. They'd be led to safety.
When you joined the main fight, it was a brutal showdown between the fighting forces of the old prison, along with some suit and ties that had shown up and the banded together heroes and villains.
Most of them were no longer capable of battle however, swaying in place and some were already crumpled on the floor. Song had stopped her lullaby and was now swooping in and out of the rows of enemies, knocking people over, while Madness extended his powers further.
When you reached his side, he was out of breath and sweat was rolling down his chin.
"We're ready to leave," you told him and he grinned briefly, an expression of such fierce, relieved victory that you could only grin back. "Don't hit me with your shit."
With those words you threw yourself into the fray, dodging around the guards to square up with the three suit and ties, for they had brought rather strong powers with them. If you could take them out, everyone could get away with little trouble.
They were nasty pieces of work, forcing you to duck below blades thrown by telekinesis – and the bodies of some of the guards – as well as dodge conjured vines that wanted to tie you down.
One vine snapped around your arm, ready to fling you back and you grit your teeth against the pain as you threw yourself forward. You heard a bone crunch before you felt the pain, a dagger slicing past your cheek, another finding the meat of your thigh.
But now you were right in front of them and they clearly had no idea who you were outside of your hero costume, for they did not dodge back. Their eyes grew wide in realization when the one with the vine powers crumbled at a single touch and now they were hurriedly trying to get away.
Which was when Song swooped in from overhead, dropping her full weight on the suit and tie to the left, arching her wings up high to ensure she would not block your path.
Her rapid descending and distraction was all the chance you needed. You slammed the bare palm of your good hand against the woman's nose, who fell like a sack of bricks, daggers clattering to the ground as her limbs twitched slightly.
"Are you alright?" Song asked, wings snapping out to topple two guards that tried to rush in.
"I'll be fine," you said, her gaze already spotting the knife in your leg and your awkwardly held arm. A heavy wave of power in the air caused the rest of the guards to scream, all of them dropping their weapons, half of them running away, the other half clawing at their own skin.
You'd really have to ask Madness about the details on his powers one of these days. Song gripped you around the waist and with a quick hop and flap of her wings, brought you back to Madness and the rescued heroes and villains.
Madness' face grew tense and pinched when he saw you, eyes briefly turning black, before he exhaled roughly and focused on getting everyone up and moving.
At least the escape part was easy enough with the old prison utterly disabled. It was in a remote location, so no one had to worry about outside help arriving. Not that anyone in that cursed place would have called The Defenders for help, they wouldn't want the scrutiny after all.
You got first aid treatment by none other than Madness. His hands were surprisingly gentle, while Song pointed out all the cars around the place, getting the rescued heroes and villains organized.
They were soon ready to head to a pre-prepared place to group up and decide what they wanted to do. They would need proper medical treatment soon though, that was for sure.
You drove back with Madness and Supernova and Sun, the two considered-dead people conked out on the backseat, while Song flew overhead to watch for danger. She wouldn't have fit in the car anyway, not with passengers and her large wings.
"Get some rest," Madness said after a couple of minutes of silence. "If you think you can sleep around a villain."
You snorted and closed your eyes. The pain meds you had gotten were really starting to kick in. "I let you at my injuries, didn't I? And I think our truce can extend until we're all ready to go home."
Madness just hummed quietly. "Could be more than a truce," he muttered, but by then you were already slipping off to sleep, so you weren't sure if you imagined it or not.
*.*.*
The Phoenix Project made headlines everywhere. Doctor had made sure this horror story could not and would not be kept secret by anyone who wanted to keep heroes from looking bad.
The Defenders had a lot of hard work ahead of them, convincing the public that they were still trustworthy, that arrested people would not disappear without a trace again. That the heroes they employed could not be bribed too.
Song and you, meanwhile, were lauded as heroes. As in, a different kind of heroes. The kind that, well, that heroes were meant to be. Saviors, defenders of the weak. People who did the right thing, no matter who else was against them.
It was weird, was what it was. Song and you picked a new apartment with the help of Doctor, who made sure no word of its location got out. The kid had contacted you a couple of days after everything started blowing up, letting you know that they were hanging up the villain mantle.
They wanted to go back to school instead and take care of their brother. Though, they had mentioned that Madness was helping them get allies so that, when they did decide to present their inventions to the public in a year or two, no one would take advantage of them.
Madness had gone quiet and you were absolutely not thinking about that one frigging bit. He was a villain, you were a hero and your truce was over. You'd go back to the regularly scheduled program soon enough.
"Don't look so sour," Song said as she fixed her dress, turning once to show off the way it swirled and sparkled. Her wings were freshly groomed and shone beautifully in the overhead light. "How do I look?"
"Drop dead gorgeous," you answered honestly. "If people don't lay themselves at your feet so you can step on them, I will be sorely disappointed."
She laughed, reaching over to haul you into a tight hug, her wings encircling you. You hugged her back, some tension leeching out of you.
"Let's have a good night, alright?" Song said. "We deserve that much after all that we've been through."
"It's a party in our honor, it's going to be weird," you said and Song snorted.
"It's a party to celebrate the survivors. And maybe us, a little bit." She pulled back to grin down at you. "But what this really means is that we get to eat all the cute little fingerfood and if anyone looks at us weirdly, we just remind them that we were the ones to save the day."
You couldn't help but laugh, giving her arms a pat. "Alright, you win. But if I get tired, I'll just go home."
"Let me know and I'll go with you," Song offered. "We can put in one of the movies that came out while we were in hiding. I'll go make drinks and you make popcorn and we kick back for the rest of the night."
That actually sounded preferable to the party, but you had already agreed to show up. And, as Song said, the fingerfood was amazing. To die for, really.
The party was, indeed, a little bit of a stiff affair. Or rather, it was meant to present a united front to the press, show forgiveness on the side of the survivors and it allowed people to network.
You spoke with a couple of the rescued heroes that had shown up, Supernova frowning heavily and looking ready to bolt. You didn't mention the sun necklace she was wearing and fiddling with like it was a good luck pendant.
"Hey," a familiar, cheerful voice chirped behind you, just as you gathered as much fingerfood as your plate could hold. The server meanwhile looked on in horrified awe.
Surprised you turned around to see Doctor with their older brother. The brother looked miles better since you had last seen him. While he was still a bit gaunt, he had lost much of his thinness and his smile was sweet and charming, if a bit tired.
His scars had faded a bit too, clearly the work of some great medical care. You wouldn't be surprised if Doctor played a part in that.
"My little sibling said I have you to thank for freeing me," he said and held out his hand. You quickly handed your heavily laden plate to the poor server, shaking his hand and then taking the plate back before any of the precariously stacked fingerfood could tumble to a sad little floor-death.
"No thanks necessary, but I am glad to see you're doing better," you answered, while Doctor stood beside you grinning and swaying back and forth a bit on their feet.
"Oh, I doubt you are as glad as I am," the brother answered, only for the smile to slip and crack like fragile glass. "I thought I was going to die in there," he said quietly and Doctor's cheer vanished instantly. "We all did. And then you guys showed up. You have no idea how grateful we are."
This was making you uncomfortable. "Are you still in contact with the others?"
He gave you a surprisingly sharp look, before relaxing a bit. "Yeah, we meet once a month to talk about things. In there...being a hero or a villain stopped meaning anything." He smiled a sad, shy little smile. "Can't count the amount of times a villain held me while I cried."
He cleared his throat, quickly moving on before you could respond. "But that doesn't matter anymore. Now all that matters is healing and making sure my sibling doesn't drop out of school. Again." The last word was said with a bit of reprimand.
You couldn't help but glance at Doctor, wondering if they had told their brother what they had been up to during his presumed death. Considering the stiff, warning smile Doctor gave you, they had said nothing. Fair enough.
"Are you going to eat all that?" Doctor asked instead, nodding at your full plate.
"Double if no one stops me," you said, which made both of them chuckle.
"Don't let us keep you, then," the brother said. "And, again, thank you. You're my hero." Well, now you felt too touched for words.
Mumbling something incoherent but vaguely nice sounding, you shuffled off to one of the open balconies to eat your fingerfood in peace. Your position gave you a good look across the large ballroom, where Song was dazzling a group of people with an adoring shine in their eyes.
She deserved it and considering the brief wink she threw your way, she was making sure to hog all the limelight to give you some peace and quiet. If Song ever wanted the world, you'd damn well fetch it for her.
Your gaze wandered and you nearly choked on a piece of food when you saw Madness of all people brazenly striding towards you.
"How?" you said when he leaned against the balcony railing at your side. "are you here?"
He tapped his temple. "People think I'm Doctor's uncle, they don't see me when they look at me."
...you really had to ask him about his powers in detail one of these days. Well, if he ever properly talked with you instead of going radio silent.
"The brother must know you're no uncle of theirs," you pointed out, instead of asking him why he was talking to you now when he hadn't reached out once since the prison breakout. Since bandaging your leg and putting your arm into a temporary sling.
"He knows who I am," Madness answered. "Doctor said I was the one they reached out to for help. They are hiding what they've been up to, though I think their brother is going to find out soon enough."
Doctor's little jaunt into villainy was hard to ignore, that was true. You hummed in agreement and you half expected Madness to move on. That he had just come here to say hello and keep you from making a scene.
"Why come talk to me?" you asked when he just...remained. Quiet and steady at your side. "I haven't heard from you in a while."
Madness was silent for a long second, then he took a deep breath and straightened. His shoulders rolled back like he was ready to fight, but he didn't feel dangerous. You were still ready to toss your plate of fingerfood at him as a distraction.
"I tried to forget you," Madness said, his words surprising you enough that you paused. "I thought it was for the best. But I couldn't and when I saw you here today...well, I'm a villain. Taking every chance I can to get the things I want is what I do, isn't it?"
You stared at him, befuddled and you allowed him to, ever so gently, take the plate of food from your hands and put it onto the wide railing of the balcony beside you.
"If I overstep let me know and you'll never hear another word from me," he said and his fingertips brushed your hands, leaving warm tingles behind. "But if there is a chance you are interested in me the way I am in you..."
He trailed off, his pale eyes searching yours, hopeful and hesitant in a way you hadn't really seen him before. He was...he was actually showing vulnerability right now. It made you swallow.
"It would never work," you said, because that was the first thing that always came to your mind when you thought about kissing him or holding his hand. About reaching out to him. "We're on two opposite sides of the law. Maybe it's fun at first, but what afterwards? When we have to keep hiding things, have to clash out there in battle?"
Madness didn't brush you off, growing more serious instead, while the hope in his eyes sparked brighter. "You and I are going to retire one day," he said. "Maybe even soon, our lot rarely grows old in this field of work. And I would refrain from attacking you, no matter what."
"It would be hard to make this work," you pointed out, gesturing between you and him, but considering how his eyes sparked with a challenge accepted, that wasn't a problem. "Are you sure? I thought you didn't like heroes."
"I don't," he agreed easily. "But you're different." He tipped his head slightly to the side. "There is a dash of villain in you, isn't there?"
You could admit that he was right and maybe, there was sometimes a bit more than just a dash. You knew that if Song turned to villainy for some reason – it would be a good reason, knowing her – you'd ultimately end up following her.
"My morals are...flexible, sometimes," you admitted. There was a reason why Song was your anchor and compass, your lodestone. Why her light guided your way and you knew, if someone ever took her from you, you would not stop until that person was dead.
Madness smiled and you liked it. A lot. You liked the way he looked at you, as if you were something amazing. As if he never wanted to look away.
He reached into the pocket of his suit and pulled out a beautiful bracelet. "Doctor made this for me, it blocks my powers." And, just like that, he held it out to you.
"Why trust me like this?" you couldn't help but ask and his answering, crooked smile had no right to be this charming and sweet.
"Because you never used a situation against me," he answered, with an earnest shine in his eyes that made you want to look away, your heart going all soft and vulnerable. "Not when the building collapsed and you had the upper hand, nor any time later when you could have just knocked me out with a touch."
"I don't even know your name," you said.
When you didn't move to take the bracelet, he took your hand carefully, turning it palm up to press the cold metal against your skin, curling your fingers closed around it. Once you put this on, he wouldn't be able to use his powers against you, not even in defense should you decide to turn on him.
"Then I'll tell you," he said quietly, his free hand coming up, slowly enough for you to pull back. When you didn't, he cupped the side of your face, this thumb brushing gently over your cheek. "And anything else you want to know."
"We'll need as safeword," you blurted out, because this was already getting too important to mess up needlessly. "When we do encounter ourselves or just in general, to make this work." To not hurt each other by being heroes and villains.
"What do you propose?" he asked and you almost said tic-tac-toe, but that was kind of long, wasn't it? Before you could say something, his eye brightened with mirth. "How about checkers?"
You huffed. "I did have you beat in checkers."
He laughed, low and amused and very fond. You were fonder of him yourself than you liked to admit on your good days. "Keep telling yourself that, my villainous hero. Checkers it is. So, what do you say? Want to give me, us, a chance?"
You tightened your grip around the bracelet and leaned your cheek into his palm. His eyes darkened with want and something soft as you allowed him to cradle you. As you allowed him so close to your mind that he could ruin you, could destroy you forever, before you could ever hope to stop him.
"Touch civilians or Nightingale and I will end you," you said, a steel-solid promise uttered in a low, dangerous voice that made a darkly pleased grin appear on his face. He liked you sharp, he liked it when you showed that villainous streak that lurked below the surface. "Alright. Tell me your name, Madness, and then kiss me."
And so he did.
Summary: Hinata meets her new neighbor in a very unconventional way.
Written for NaruHina Fair, NH Month 2023 Day 11: New neighbors - Thin walls.
Rated T.
"Proper Introductions" - Short One-shot (maybe part of a 2-shot?)
The next door unit at the end of the hall had been left vacant for so long, she thinks at first that all the thumping and yelling noises are happening right outside her own door.
Slightly afraid, she peeks through the door’s peephole, and…it’s some guys who might be around her own age…and they’re lugging boxes across the hallway and setting stuff down in front of that vacant unit.
A new neighbor!  Or neighbors!   She doesn’t know what to think.  On whether to be happy or concerned.  Despite the less-than-stellar living accommodations, she has at least been doing well with her neighbors on this floor.  She recognizes and trusts her neighbors, even if they don’t really talk.
Tenants have come and gone from a few of the units over the past year, but for whatever reason, the unit next door has always been left vacant.
Until now.
Rather than go out there and be friendly to some guys she doesn’t know if she can trust, she tests that her door is locked, backs away, and returns to her dinner preparation for the next week.
The energetic yelling, the heavy thumping…she thought it would all become background noise.
It really sounds like it’s coming from her living room.
“This apartment really is crap!  Check out his sink!”
She looks up from chopping carrots, attention at the wall where the vulgar speech is clearly coming through.
Her own sink is fine.
She returns to her chopping, but now her curiosity is piqued.
“Why did you agree to this shithole?”  A different voice.  Some laughter and agreements.
“His stove is a burner.”  “The paint is peeling.”  “You’ve got, like, one wall socket in the living room.”
“I can afford it, and it’s cheap!”
“How did you even find this place?  I’ve been checking all the listings and I never saw this!”
“Oh, I didn’t tell you?  The landlady’s my godfather’s friend.  And yeah, the other units aren’t like this one.  It’s actually a part…”  Suddenly the voice gets muffled, and she can’t hear the rest of his sentence.
“Whaaaaaat??”  Laughter.  Scoffs of disbelief.  “Is that even legal???”
Frowning with bafflement, she dumps the carrots in the pot.  Grabs a potato, washes it, and starts peeling.
The masculine conversation turns to the furniture and what’s going where, and she continues peeling potatoes.
About twenty minutes later, she’s got all the vegetables and chicken boiling in the pot, the curry blocks are melting, and her stove’s vent is noisily fanning out some of the heavy aroma.
She’s settling into her old couch when she hears the grunts of exertion and occasional discussion become something else entirely, tearing her attention off her phone to the wall.
“AGH, FUCK!  Oh, shit!  Shit!  Naruto!!”
“Wha-, AH-”
A huuuge thunking, breaking sound.
And the top half of a shelving unit of some sort.
Is sticking through her wall.  Their wall.
That was apparently hardly a wall.
Utterly shocked and uncertain, she stands, and voices fill the air again.
“Oh shiiiiiiiiit.”
“Ugh.  Fuck.  Fuck.”
“Oh fuuuuuuuck.”
She's never heard so many swear words so frequently as today, but concern has her taking a deep breath for courage.  In the few paces it takes to get to the wall, she manages to ask the hole, “Are you okay?”
Deathly silence.
“Um.”  She tiptoes to try to look through the hole, and just at that moment, the “wall” crumbles some more, the weight of the bookshelf too much.
Pieces of “wall” fall to the ground, and she finds herself standing in front of the group of boys.  Guys.  Young men?  One is holding his shoulder and arm.  Another is holding his foot.  The others have their mouths gaping open in shock and maybe even amusement.
She stands there, taking in their interesting expressions, recognizing for herself how ridiculous this situation is.
“Oh, man.”  The rather tall, blond guy who had been cradling his arm looks like he wants the earth to swallow him up.  “I am so sorry.  I’ll fix it.  I swear.  I’m so, so sorry.”  Hands gesturing spastically, he’s the most apologetic person she’s ever seen in her life.
“Oh, it’s okay-”
“I’m really so sorry.”  He bows so deeply, all his friends begin copying him.
She’s never had so many people apologizing to her all at once before.  Pulling her eyes off the incredible sight of all these tall guys bowing to her, she quickly decides to pass the uncomfortable attention off of her.  “It’s, um, the wall’s fault.  I didn’t know it was so thin.  It shouldn’t have broken so easily.”  So really, this isn't his fault, but rather, the apartment complex's.
The blond one stands straight, obvious stress still lining his features.  “Ah, yeah-”
“I should call Senju-san-”
“No, don’t!”  He has his hands out to stop her, nearly lunging over his fallen shelf and the pieces of wall between them.  “Please, don’t call her, please!”
The begging has her take pause, and she recalls him talking to his friends about his personal connection with their landlady.
“She’ll kick me out if she hears about this!  She’ll end me for sure!  Please, please don’t tell her.”  He’s bowing repeatedly and has the most kicked puppy, begging expression she’s ever seen in her life, and she feels bad that he feels this bad.
She’s never had anyone groveling this much to her before.  “Okay, okay, I understand, I won’t tell her,” she soothes, and it’s such a relief to see him relieved.
“Thank you, you’re the best.  I have such a nice neighbor!” he gushes in such a sincere tone that it feels like an exaggeration.
His friends apologize and thank her repeatedly in turn, and just to get them to stop, she runs away to retrieve a broom, dustpan, and trash bags.
They insist on doing all the cleanup, so she pretends to be busy in her kitchen as they go back and forth in and out of her living room, and before long, it’s just them and a giant hole between the two units.
“Excuse me.”  That blond guy’s voice draws her attention up from her phone.  He gives her a meek smile from his side of the hole.  “I’ll try to get this fixed up as soon as I can… I don’t have the money for this right now, but-”
“I’ll help since it’s partially my fault!”  The brown-haired guy who looked like he might've hurt his foot raises his hand.
“Oh, okay.”  She nods her head, feeling the awkward tension still palpable in the air.  She decides to brave it and venture closer.  She steps out of the kitchen toward their shared wall.
They cleaned up really well.
She passes her scrutiny along the edges of the cracked wall, raises a finger, and feels the material.  “Walls are supposed to have framing, right?”  There’s none here.  She’s not quite sure, but this wall might only be stiff, thick foamboard.
“You should tell her.”  A guy with long black hair tied into a ponytail has his hands on his hips, looking at the blond one pointedly.
She turns a confused look at him.
Her new neighbor sighs heavily.  “Umm, well, to be honest… My unit is supposed to be a part of yours.”
She turns this piece of information over in her head, and despite the cautious and meek look on her neighbor’s face, she’s not angry or disturbed.  Instead, she feels interested, almost amused.  “What?  Really?” she asks, genuinely curious.  “Why?”  She ventures another step forward, and they make way for her to peek into his unit.
“Uhh…” he intones.
She spots the burner stove on a counter that looks like her kitchen counters.
“I’m not sure why.  I’ll ask my godfather.  He’s the landlady’s friend.”
She gapes at a toilet tucked in a corner of the room and one simple sink.
It’s like her living room and kitchen were supposed to be twice as big.  Instead, this area got cut in half.  His door should be her door.  Instead, it seems like her door was cut somewhere it's not supposed to be.  That closet next to his door should be hers...
“When you get a good deal, you don’t ask questions, you know?”
She knew her unit was cheaper than others.  She didn’t ask why.  “Yes, I know what you mean...”  She certainly understands now.
“Ahh, I didn’t get to introduce myself.”
She blinks up at him, realizing that they completely skipped over introductions in all the chaos.
“My name is Uzumaki Naruto.”  He bows and straightens.  “I’m 22 years old and just graduated from the University of Konoha.  I’m starting work at Representative Hatake Kakashi’s office next Monday.  I swear I won't be a bother to you anymore.”
She bows.  “It’s nice to meet you.”  She offers him a small smile.  “My name is Hyuuga Hinata.  I’m also 22 years old, but I graduated last year from Biwako Women’s College.  I work with Konoha Tourism Authority.  I hope to get along with you.”
He gives her an impressed look that she shies away from and without letting her stew in her awkward feelings, he rapidly introduces his friends to her in a blur of names, schools, and jobs.  A cry of “The smell of her curry is making me die!  You promised to feed us if we helped you move!” and, before she can even offer them any, Naruto and company practically run out the door, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
She stares at the massive hole in the wall.
She honestly has no idea how they're going to fix it.
After checking how much longer she still has to cook the curry, she settles back into her couch to finally relax, but her thoughts quickly return to her new neighbor.
Well, rather than a new neighbor... Nerves race up her legs, and a blush heats her face.
She thinks it might be more accurate to say she just gained a new housemate.
A housemate who's...a man!
My (unofficial) PJO season 2 episode 5 script part 4/4 (part 1 | part 2 | part 3)
The last part! Thank you for reading I just couldn't get the vision for this episode out of my mind and had to write it down.
Images of script and copied text (bc I'm lazy and don't want to write out alt text) under the cut, just in case I didn't tag enough spoiler warning or people aren't interested <3
Annabeth Tries to Swim Home
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CUT TO: INT. DARK VICTORIAN HOUSE – NIGHT.
Continuation of first scene/flashback. CYCLOPS is grinning at YOUNG ANNABETH menacingly. Behind him, the fire rages, and LUKE, THALIA, and GROVER are tied up in the corner. Annabeth’s attention is taken up by the large monster speaking to her.
CYCLOPS: (in her father’s voice) Annabeth. How nice of you to join us. Now, Annie, don’t you worry.
Annabeth draws her knife. As he speaks, the Cyclops approaches her.
CYCLOPS (CONT): I love you, Annabeth. You can stay here with me. Don’t worry. You can stay forever.
He reaches out for her. Annabeth stabs him in the foot, keeping hold of her knife as he reaches forward and grabs the door in shock. She runs around him towards her friends.
The Cyclops rips the door of its hinges and throws it across the room with a roar.
Annabeth reaches the older kids.
THALIA: Annabeth! Thank the gods you’re okay.
YOUNG ANNABETH: (determined) Hold still.
Annabeth cuts the ropes around Thalia’s arms and legs. Thalia takes up her sword and stands defensively in front of the others.
THALIA: Cut them free, Annabeth. I’ll hold him off.
Annabeth turns to Luke and Grover as the Cyclops roars behind her. She saws at their ropes as Thalia goads and fights the monster.
THALIA (CONT): Come on, ugly! Can’t you take me?
She slices at him with her sword. Now free, Luke can barely stand, Grover supporting him. They all turn to watch Thalia defending them against the monster.
Suddenly, the Cyclops roars, and Thalia’s sword can be seen buried in his eye. As he rears back, she pulls it out, turning to her friends.
THALIA (CONT): Come on. We have to go.
Annabeth leads the way through the house, back the way she came through the servants kitchen into the orangery. They escape through a side door, standing in the storm.
Sirens and howls can be heard, the sounds of the monsters they have been running from closer than before.
THUNDER rumbles as they look around desperately in the dark. Grover sniffs.
GROVER: Come on. This way.
They walk away from the house. The Cyclops roars again from within.
CUT TO:  EXT. POLYPHEMUS’ ISLAND – DAY.
SHEEP hooves/underbellies walk across the screen as POLYPHEMUS calls them. Under one of them hangs PERCY.
ANNABETH: (invisible) Just don’t let go!
Polyphemus drags aside the boulder sealing the cave. He addresses each sheep as they pass.
POLYPHEMUS: (patting each sheep) Hasenpfeffer! Einstein! Widget! Widget? Heavier, huh?
WIDGET stops in front of him, Percy clinging to her wool.
POLYPHEMUS (CONT): Soon you will be big enough to eat! Go on, Widget!
WIDGET enters the cave, followed by the rest of the flock.
ANNABETH: (invisible, from outside) Hey, ugly!
POLYPHEMUS: (looking around wildly) Who said that?
ANNABETH: Nobody!
POLYPHEMUS: Nobody! I remember you!
ANNABETH: You’re too stupid to remember. But Nobody remembers you!
Polyphemus throws a boulder, aiming for the invisible Annabeth.
ANNABETH (CONT): Your aim hasn’t improved!
POLYPHEMUS: Come here! Let me kill you!
ANNABETH: You can’t kill Nobody! And you’ll have to come find me!
Polyphemus yells, running down the hill to find Annabeth. Percy drops off Widget, glancing back outside at the island and the Cyclops before moving further into the cave.
CONT: INT. POLYPHEMUS’ CAVE – DAY.
Percy moves through cavernous hallways, turning a corner into a dead-end room of sheep memorabilia. He backs out, going back the other way and turning right instead of left.
He turns corners through a set of “rooms,” something that might be a bedroom, a room full of bones, and another room full of sheep memorabilia. He turns a corner and trips, catching himself against the cave walls with his hands.
Righting himself, Percy looks around, breathing heavily. He looks back and forth, choosing a hallway and running into another room, full of wool and smelling of sheep. He covers his nose as he looks around the room, faced with three separate doorways.
Percy makes a choice, going through the left opening. Down the hallway, he finds a room with a spinning wheel and loom. GROVER and CLARISSE are inside, trying to undo Clarisse’s ropes.
CLARISSE: It’s no good. You’ve been working at it for hours!
They spot Percy.
CLARISSE (CONT): You’re supposed to be blown up!
PERCY: Yeah, good to see you too--
GROVER: (hugging Percy) You came!
PERCY: Yeah, of course, dude. Now, Clarisse, hold still.
Percy takes Riptide out of his pocket and cuts Clarisse’s ropes.
CLARISSE: (rubbing her wrist) Where’s Annabeth?
PERCY: You’re welcome. She’s outside.
CLARISSE: Great, come on.
PERCY: Wait. Was... It was just you in your lifeboat?
CLARISSE: Yeah. Everybody else... I didn’t even know you guys made it.
Percy looks down at his sword.
PERCY: Okay.
GROVER: Come on, guys. We need to go help Annabeth.
They move back through the cave, Grover guiding them. As they come back into the first room Percy ran through, they hear a loud crash.
Annabeth screams.
POLYPHEMUS: I got Nobody!
Percy, Grover, and Clarisse move to the doorway, peeking through to the main room. Polyphemus is standing at the doorway, holding his arm up. He shakes his fist, and ANNABETH’S CAP flutters to the ground, revealing Annabeth, hanging upside down from his hand.
FADE OUT. THE END
A few things about Cyril Rose, Chevalier Michel and Lucian
I was always curious about Chevalier's behavior towards Cyril, especially after Lucian was introduced as the covert and the royal guard later on for Chevalier. The question in my mind was, if Chevalier really trust Cyril to become the lead knight of the foreign affairs faction, then would he ever call him by his name? The post is based on Chevalier's election promise party event
Spoilers and facts about Cyril (and a few about Lucian) under the cut!
After obtaining Chevalier's Early Clear Bonus from this party event (promise from 2nd anniversary/election):
Tumblr media
The story was in his POV and fully voiced (meaning that his thoughts and dialog were voiced, except for a few lines of narration).
But from this story, we are able to see a few sides of Chevalier that we never saw before, nor did we hear him talk about. Including Cyril Rose.
The story starts with him training with the knights, before "killing them" as he said after knocking them out. And it ends with Cyril being the only one standing. From the Mc's POV, Cyril could keep up really well, but Chevalier kicked his sword. In Chevalier's POV, Cyril actually got distracted, else the battle would have continued.
This whole training thing was never something that Chevalier would have done, but he feels the need to show off in front of Emma.
Back to the topic, while training and inwardly praising all the knights, who were able to keep up so much longer against him, Chevalier thought of Cyril.
And while thinking of him as Clavis' knight, he also acknowledges his name!! The same way Lucian's name is acknowledged, meaning that it's written right on top of his job in the castle:
Tumblr media
Translation:
Chevalier's thoughts: 'Usually, I leave the management of the knight's to Clavis and the red head (Cyril),'
So he does, indeed, acknowledge him with his name. Conclusion: Chevalier loves to "make fun" of others with these nicknames (more like he points out what describes them XD). Lucian is also called the long black haired royal guard (Since Chevalier is the king, Lucian is the royal guard).
A few things for Cyril:
In the party event story (previous discussion), it shows how much more familiar the knights are with Chevalier and how much more they are scared of Cyril (as their master in training). Chevalier told them to run 100 laps around the castle, making the knights complain about it (with no fear towards him). Translation of the moment:
Knights:"Hyahhhhhh.....100 laps!?"
Chevalier:"Even if I'm showing the losers mercy?"
Cyril:"Thank you for your mercy! Everyone, keep your mouth shut!"
When Cyril told them to shut their mouth, they all stopped complaining and run out to train
Before that, Chevalier admitted to Cyril that out of all of the knights, he would be the only one standing at the battlefield. And not only that, but he told him to make sure to withdraw if something goes wrong and return to the castle before he dies. He also said that he should help and save as many of those around him, leaving Cyril at a loss but he was quick to agree with Chevalier.
Thank you for reading this far! This event was truly enjoyable and definitely worth to get the ECB. A small flashback of Chevalier and Clavis is also in there, but in Chevalier's thoughts.
Chevalier was drawing Benitoite in huge detail and Emma was watching in amazement, before she complimented him. Chevalier thought that he never payed attention to drawing before, but he once tried it, because Clavis made him draw to find a weakness, but Chevalier knew how, so Clavis threw a tantrum when he saw the finished project.
And of course, after he finished drawing Benitoite, he drew Jade and gave attention to the huge greenhouse, because it looked like it came out of a fairy-tale, so he knew Emma would love this the most.
Although he finished with the drawings, gave them to Emma after she asked to keep them, knowing that all he was doing was useless and had nothing to do with their lessons, he still asked her to draw something for him.
(Keep in mind that Sariel doesn't give Emma lessons as much anymore, it's mostly Chevalier when he is off of work).
Emma drew roses, books (Chevalier's thoughts were that this was a rose garden with her favourite things), and in the end, she added added tiger! And Chevalier took the quill pen from her hands to draw a little rabbit too. He started praising Emma a lot and her expressions changed a lot, so he laughed very hard at her (his thoughts were that he never laughed this hard in his whole life).
Birthday Girl - Tom Holland
Tumblr media
happy birthday to my best friend!!! i love you very much and i hope you're having a great bday today :) this is for you! ilyy you have brought a lot of joy into this world and i want you to have the best year possible! thank you for being such a sweet person, you deserve so many great things in life!
Tom Holland x Reader [Fluff and Smut] Warnings: Cursing, smut, little bit of praise, fingering Word Count: 5.2k
Tom was so excited about your birthday tomorrow to the point you weren’t really surprised when he pulled out a list on his phone about possible things to do to celebrate your birthday. It was currently 11pm, the day before your birthday and Tom was grinning widely as he wrapped an arm around you as he showed you the list.
“Alright, so I had way too many ideas about what to do for your birthday tomorrow that I had to put it in a list. And I know you’d like each of them, but I couldn’t choose what to surprise you with because each of them were too good to disregard. So, I was wondering what you’d like from this list to do, think of it like a spa brochure, and we’ll start once it turns midnight.” Tom rambled happily and your jaw dropped as you stared down at the list.
There was two pages of notes and ideas of what to do! “Oh god, Tom, how in the world did you think of all off these?!” You gaped at the list, scrolling through it.
“Oh, I’ve been preparing since the day after your last birthday.” He shrugged like it was no big deal, but you stared at him with wide eyes, completely flabbergasted.
“What?!” You laughed slightly but turned your head to kiss his cheek gently. “You’re so sweet to me. I love you so much.”
His cheeks warmed just a little, “I love you too. I just wanted your birthday to be an extra special day for you since you’ve been working so much.”
You looked at the very first suggestion on the list and felt your cheeks warm slightly, “Aw, love making? And – oh you scheduled it for 3 hours!” You were flustered but you found it a little funny that he added that time suggestion to it.
“Only if you want to!” He cried out, shaking his head and looking incredibly embarrassed. “It’s completely up to you, seriously. I just put that there since I thought maybe you’d like that suggestion.”
“It’s okay, I like it, don’t worry.” You shrugged and smiled at him.
You smiled at his words, feeling grateful for him. You gazed down at the list again and laughed at one of the funnier suggestions, “Did you really put this one down? A brigadeiro making party?”
“Yeah! I know you love them – I also put down acai making party. If you want to do either of those, I can go get all the ingredients at the store and I’ll invite our friends over.” Tom responded, pointing out the other option on the list.
“You’re ridiculous.” You giggled and shook your head, “But they do sound fun.”
Tom smiled at that, “Yeah, and there’s also some stuff we can do by ourselves, and we can celebrate your birthday with friends and family another day.”
You hummed and nodded at his words. You did want to hang out with him one-on-one since you guys haven’t been able to spend as much time together lately. You had a lot of work since you took on a new project at the company you worked at, and you were in and out of meetings most days, so you only really saw Tom at night. You were glad you had tomorrow off!
“I think I want to just hang out with you tomorrow, babe. I miss hanging out with you.” You confessed and Tom’s face softened, and he leaned closer to you and kissed your lips gently.
“I missed that too. Remember when we’d slow dance on the balcony whenever that song came on the radio?” He stopped for a moment and smiled even more, “I keep thinking about how beautiful you looked out in the sunshine – even in the moonlight too, you’ve got this glow that I always miss.”
You practically melted into him, bringing him into an embrace. “Such a romantic sap,” You teased softly, and he added onto your words, “But you love it.”
“That’s right. We’re definitely dancing out on the balcony tonight. Right when it turns midnight, that’ll be a perfect way to start my birthday.” You murmured to him, and he squeezed you extra tight at your words, kissing your cheek.
“That’s perfect, darling. And we’re about forty minutes away too.” He stretched his arms up and leaned away, “I’m going to put some music on now and set things up on the balcony. I’ll clean the dishes up too.” He pointed to the dishes on the coffee table. You two ate a late dinner and snuggled on the couch for a while.
“Mm, thank you.” You said as he stood up from the couch. You shivered from the loss of the heat coming off his body. He quickly picked up a throw blanket and pressed it over you, smiling and leaning down again to peck your lips softly.
“You don’t have to thank me for anything like that, I’ll do it any day and anytime.” He paused as he picked the dishes up from the table, “Also don’t come in the kitchen, I got to get your surprise ready!”
You laughed and shook your head, “Baby, it’s not a surprise anymore if you say there’s a surprise.”
“Oh shit, yeah.” He chuckled at himself. He took the plates away and a minute later, you heard him setting up the speakers and playing some music. It was a slow romantic song that started first and your smile widened when you recognized it. It was the first song on the playlist he made you for Valentine’s one year.
He started singing the lyrics and you sung along with him softly, as you looked through more of the list on his phone. A few more of the options made you giggle a bit. “Tom, baby, what does it mean when you put ‘Taylor Swift’?” You wondered if it meant you two would listen to her albums for a while, which sounded like a fun time.
He walked back in and pushed a hand through his hair, “Oh, yeah, that’s a birthday gift that’s coming in a few months. I got us some front row tickets to one of her concerts!”
Your jaw dropped and you stared at him in silence. Tickets to her concert were extremely hard to get, especially front row ones. How in the world did he get them!? And why is he acting all nonchalant about it?
“Y/n? Are you okay?” Tom looked nervous and concerned, “Do you not like that gift? We don’t have to go.” He continued, walking closer to you.
“What! No, we’ve got to go! Oh my god, how did you get two front row tickets?” You snapped out of your shocked silence.
“I emailed her manager and asked politely.” Tom laughed and you were still completely shocked, and you laughed along with him.
“You are so crazy.” You breathed out and wrapped your arms around him, pulling him into a hug. He happily squeezed you back in the hug.
“I’m happy you like this early birthday gift – oh there’s like twenty minutes left now until your birthday.” Tom chuckled as you pulled away.
“Hmm, are you done with the dishes?” You asked, peeking over his shoulder to look into the kitchen.
He nodded, “Yep, but I have one more thing to do. I’ll be back really quick.” He leaned down and pecked your lips again and you smiled happily at him. He was so sweet.
“Okay… but don’t leave me trying to slow dance by myself for so long!” You called back laughing as you walked over to the balcony. You opened the doors up and sighed as the heat from outside hit you. You put the blanket back on the couch, no longer needing it. You and Tom had the habit of turning the AC on super cold all the time, even to the point you two were freezing during the heat outside.
“I won’t!” He said back. You walked back to the balcony and went outside, peering down to your garden, happy to see that the flowers were doing good down there. You and Tom planted a few a while ago when you guys had some free time. You planted some of your favorites, including tulips, and Tom planted one of his favorites and one of his mom’s favorites.
The music got louder when Tom adjusted the speakers, and then you gazed at the doorway to see Tom bringing in a mini cake on a platter, with a candle on the top. He turned on a few lights to make the balcony brighter.
“Aw, Tom! You didn’t need to get a cake!” You gasped as he brought it closer. It looked like it was one of your favorite types of cake too. A few pieces of fruit were surrounding the cake on the plate, all of which were fruits you liked.
“I wanted to! And it’s just a small cake. The one your family is planning to make is huge.” He responded, placing the cake down onto the outdoor table. Your eyes widened at the mention of your family making a cake.
“Oh god, not again.” You burst out into laughter. The last time your family made a cake, it was so large that there was barely a dent in it at the end of the party.
“Yeah, I’m prepared for it this time. I’m going to eat all the cake I can when they celebrate your birthday.” Tom snorted and you shook your head at him, amused.
“Alright, cake man.” You rolled your eyes playfully and motioned for him to come closer to you, “Come get your cake.” You joked and he looked shocked at your joke, before laughing with you.
“Don’t mind if I do. I didn’t expect you to start calling your ass cake after I started calling it that.” He chuckled and walked over to you.
“My ass looks good today, I couldn’t help it.” You responded and he nodded enthusiastically at your words.
“Very true. Looks great every day.” He said and wrapped his arms around your waist, lowering just slightly right before they hit your ass. You put your arms around his neck, and you both started to slow dance, swaying back and forth in the nightlight.
A new song started, and Tom grinned, “Aw, remember this one?” He spun you around and brought you back to him, then lowered his head and kissed your lips softly. “It was the song that you had sung at karaoke that made me blurt out how much I love you. The first time I said it.”
You smiled and nodded, staring up into his eyes. You could see all the love and joy in them, you almost swooned. “That was the point I really just confirmed you were the one. I could tell you actually meant it when you said it.”
His hand stroked your back up and down, “Yeah, I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I wanted to say it for a while, but I thought I’d sound a bit crazy since it wasn’t long since we officially started dating.”
“You know, your brother, Harry, actually told me before that, that you were in love with me. He said he’d never saw you so lovestruck before.” You murmured, “I didn’t believe him. I thought he was just saying it to be nice.”
Tom raised his eyebrows in shock, “Oh god, when was that?” He stopped dancing at that moment, but you continued to pull him around, smiling at his expression.
“Our first Christmas with each other when we had dinner at your parents’ house. We were watching The Princess Diaries, and I went to go get more snacks and he helped me in the kitchen.” You recalled the memory, smiling as Tom shook his head.
“He’s so sneaky, but he’s good about it.” He smiled and you nodded, agreeing with him.
“Mm, yeah, he’s a good guy, even though he accidentally drove into my dad’s car that one time.” You joked, laughing as Tom started too as well.
“He’s still so sorry about that, he doesn’t trust back up cameras on cars now.” Tom laughed loudly then sighed and shook his head. He looked towards the clock inside the house, on the wall nearby and his eyebrows shot up.
“Oh! It’s almost midnight.” He pulled away and went over to the cake and lit the candle with a match he had in his pocket. You grinned happily as he excitedly walked over to you with the plate in his hands.
“Happy birthday, my love. Make a wish.” He whispered to you, after he checked the time again. You closed your eyes and blew out the candle. You opened your eyes and Tom cut a slice of cake for the two of you.
“It looks so good. Thank you, baby.” You whispered to him and kissed his cheek as you two sat down next to each other.
“You’re welcome, I love you.” He replied, yawning slightly as he took a bite of the cake. You took a bite as well, groaning in pleasure at the taste. It was delicious and you could practically melt in delight from it.
“I love you too. We should get to bed after this.” You said, snuggling into his side. He nodded in agreement and you two finished eating the slices of cake. He went and put the rest of it away to eat later and you turned the lights and music off before you two went to your bedroom.
You slipped your body under the covers on your side of the bed as Tom yawned again and got in the bed as well.  He set a hand over yours and you scooted closer to him in the bed. “Goodnight baby, thank you for tonight – and tomorrow.” You smiled sleepily.
“Goodnight birthday girl.”
-
By the time you woke up, you could smell a delicious breakfast waiting for you in the other room. Sunlight drifted into the room from the blinds, and you stretched in the bed, shifting as you got up from the bed.
“Y/n?” Tom called out gently, walking into the room. You tiredly walked over to him and hugged him, making him chuckle and hug you back.
“Hi baby.” You whispered to him and pulled away, walking with him to the living room. One of your familiar favorite tv shows are on and you gazed at Tom with a happy expression, “You even put my favorite season on!” You gasped at that, and Tom nodded.
“Yeah, I also made us some breakfast. I made a few of your favorites.” He grinned and went over to the kitchen to start pulling out the food. He set it all on the dining room table and you walked over to see what he made. You gaped at it when you realized he really did make a few of your favorite breakfast foods. A lot of it!
“Tom! How are we going to eat all this?” You laughed, sitting down when he finished putting everything out. He sat beside you and took a sip of his tea.
“Um, I didn’t think of that – but we can save it all for the next couple days, I think!” He said, laughing. He picked up some of the food and put it on his plate, then offered to do the same for you but you shook your head.
“It’s alright, I can get it.” You responded and he pouted but nodded.
When you started to cut a pancake, he stopped you, “Wait, I’ll do that for you. I can cut it into pieces. How many pieces do you want?”
You furrowed your eyebrows once you realized he was being genuine about that, “Tom, baby, what?”
“I can cut like 4 big pieces of like normal 8 pieces – oh do you like it being cut in triangles? I can do that.” Tom rambled a little, about to cut your pancake with his fork and knife.
You started laughing silently, shaking a bit, “I’m good with cutting it on my own!”
“Eh? But it’s your birthday, I want to do everything for you, so you have the perfect day.” He explained, looking like it was a completely normal thing to say. You shook your head and set your hand over his.
“Baby, no. It’s alright. I can do it by myself. I’m not a kid.” You giggled a bit more as he looked a little bit down at your answer.
“Aw okay, well if you want anything just tell me.” He responded, putting his silverware down and squeezing your hand.
“Thank you, you’re incredibly sweet.” You mumbled to him and kissed his cheek, causing his frown to disappear.
When you were done eating a very full breakfast, you and Tom moved over to the living room, where you saw a huge box sitting in the corner of the room, with a few more gifts spread around. You gaped, “When did you do this? I was just in the living room before breakfast.”
“Oh, I did it when I put the dishes in the sink. These are just a few of the gifts right now, I’ll give you some more throughout the day!” He said happily, pleased to see your expression.
He pulled the huge box over to the couch and you started to open it with a pair of scissors, laughing when Tom started to stare at you with obvious excitement. “Ooh, what is this? I’m really confused.” You spoke up, trying to look in the box, but there was something hard you could feel.
“Open the box a little bit more, you’ll see.” He grinned widely, scooting closer to you.
Once you opened the top of the box completely, you pulled out the gift, eyes widening as you realized what it was. You pulled out a new guitar case, and you opened it up as quickly as you could, gawking at the very beautiful new guitar. You ran a hand over the wood, blinking a few times before it really kicked in that he got you a guitar!
“Wh- what?! You seriously got this?” You gasped, falling in love with the guitar instantly. It looked perfect, and you could tell it was great quality as well.
“Of course! Since you’re good at playing it, I thought maybe you’d like to have another one too.” He said sheepishly, but he looked extremely delighted to see how happy you were with the gift.
“I love it, thank you seriously. This is one of the bests gifts I’ve ever gotten.” You mumbled, still in awe of the guitar.
“Aw, yeah, you’re going to play it beautifully, I can tell.” Tom responded, brushing his hand up and down your back.
After opening a few more amazing gifts, you turned to Tom with a big smile on your face, “I think I know what to pick from your list.” You spoke up, changing the subject.
“Oh, what do you want to do?” Tom asked, shifting in his seat on the couch.
You cheekily leaned closer to him, going up to his ear and whispered, “Number one.”
His face was blank for a moment before he realized what you meant and then his expression shifted into an excited one and he moved his neck slightly to turn to face you and he brought his hand up to cup your cheek softly.
“I would very much like that too.” He whispered back and you giggled softly, closing the gap between you two with a kiss. It was firm and loving, and slowly turned a bit harder as you opened your mouth a bit and his tongue slipped against yours delicately, then messily.
He pushed himself closer to you, his other hand slipping underneath your shirt and squeezing one of your breasts before pinching softly around and on your nipple. You moaned against his lips, feeling him move closer and closer as you fell back against the couch.
He climbed on top of you, moving his hips against yours, grinding and making you gasp his name loudly when you felt something poking down there after a few more seconds. His hard on rubbed against you, and you shifted, letting it hit your clothed clit.
You moaned heavily, dragging your lips against his as you pushed your hips up to grind against his harder.
“Need more.” You panted out and he nodded, pulling away hesitantly from your lips, “Fuck,” He breathed out.
“That got hot really fast.” He continued, starting to take his shirt off. He threw it across the room, not caring where it landed. He got up and undid his pants and pushed his underwear as well. Your vision focused on his dick, and you squeezed your thighs together, feeling your underwear dampen even more. He got a condom from his pant’s pockets, rolling it onto his dick.
You took your top off, glad you weren’t wearing a bra and then you pushed your pants down, not caring that they didn’t go off your ankles as Tom climbed back over you, kissing down your neck and pinching your other nipple.
“I love you so much.” He sighed against your neck, licking, and sucking a certain spot that made you press up against him even more.
“I, ahh, I love you too.” You gasped out as his hand slipped down to your pussy, rubbing two fingers over your clit in circular movements. He hummed against your neck, moving to your mouth. He paused as he sunk one finger into your pussy, pumping in and out.
“You’re taking my fingers so good.” He whispered against your lips, pushing another in, causing you to shiver from the pleasure.
“I need you, Tom. Please, I need you in me.” You whimpered against him, chasing an orgasm.
“Ah, okay, shit, you’re going to make me finish earlier than usual because of what you’re saying.” He huffed out before he pulled his fingers out. He put them into his mouth as he pulled away from your lips, and he groaned deeply.
“Tastes so good, all the time.” He muttered and with that, he slowly pushed himself in, making you gasp loudly.
“Fuck, oh, yes, yes, Tom!” You panted, moving to push his cock into you even more. He finally was fully in, and he started to rock in and out of you slowly at first.
He pushed up against your g-spot, making you moan more, eyes squeezing shut as waves of pleasure continued to hit you faster and harder. “That’s it, keep taking me like that. You’re such a good girl.” He cried out against your neck, and his hand snuck back down to your pussy, starting to rub your clit again.
It sent you over the edge as he started to rub it in tempo with fucking you, going a little faster. Your legs wrapped around him tightened just a bit before they loosened as your orgasm hit you. “Tom, I’m coming!” You shouted and he continued his actions, groaning your name out.
“Yeah, fuck, I’m almost there too. Keep going, baby.” He cried back, and he started coming, your name falling from his lips.
“I love you, so much.” You struggled to get out.
“I love you too baby, happy birthday.” He panted back, kissing you once more.
He continued to pulse in and out until you both were breathing heavily, and when he stopped coming. He pulled himself out of you, taking the condom off as he stood up and tied it together before throwing it in the trash near the door.
“That was so good.” You sighed out, wiping your forehead to get the sweat off.
“Yeah, birthday sex is always the best.” He laughed gently as he sat next to you, pulling you up softly from the couch.
You felt a little sleepy but just being next to him, seeing him all hot and sweaty from what just happened made you want to do it again. You stood up, holding your hand out to help him stand up from the couch.
“Round two in the shower?” You winked at him, and his eyes widened, and he immediately took your hand, standing up to walk with you to the bathroom.
“You are insane, but yes please! Round two of love making!” He laughed, following you.
-
After finishing three more rounds, you and Tom were exhausted, laying on the bed together. It was around 5 in the afternoon now and you were checking your phone, texting back your friends and saying thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes.
“I’ve got to call my family, I’m going to put it on speaker. I know they’ll want to talk to you too.” You spoke up, shifting to put your head on his chest. He smiled gently back at you and nodded.
“I like talking with them, they’re pretty nice.” He yawned slightly.
You called your mom, who answered after the second ring. “Daughter! Hello! Happy birthday!” She shouted over the phone, and you heard some shuffling over the phone before you heard a lot of voices singing the birthday song together.
“Aw, guys. You don’t have to sing that.” You laughed as Tom started to sing happy birthday too.
“Happy Birthday to Y/n, Happy Birthday to you!” Your family sang loudly over the phone. You heard your dad add on, “And many more…”, clapping at the end. You chuckled a bit at it.
“Thanks everyone. How are you guys doing?” You spoke up, feeling Tom’s fingers going through your hair. You sighed, feeling relaxed and sleepy as he continued.
“We’re all good! How is your birthday going? We want to celebrate it next week when everyone is able to get together for some lunch!” Your mom asked.
“It’s really good, Tom surprised me with some good gifts today.” You answered and your dad gasped.
“Oh! Tom, how’s he doing?” He questioned and you gazed up at Tom to see him smiling.
“I’m doing good, sir. We’re celebrating Y/n’s birthday all day today, but we’re taking a little rest right now.” Tom responded.
“Ah, good. Are you taking her out to dinner?” Your dad asked, and you laughed slightly.
“Dad, I’m right here still.” You commented.
“Well, I still want to know. Are you romancing my daughter? Is she happy?” Your dad continued.
Tom silently chuckled, but spoke up, “Yes, she is happy! And it’s her choice if she’d like to go out to dinner. I have a few reservations saved for tonight if she does want to go out to dinner at three of her favorite restaurants.”
“Hm, that’s very thoughtful of you. Good work. Keep it up.” Your dad responded and you heard your mom sigh.
“Okay, enough of that. Send us some pictures! We’ll see you next week. Happy birthday again, sweetheart!” Your mom said goodbye and ended the call after you and Tom said goodbye.
You shifted to look up at Tom, “Did you really reserve all those restaurants? Even with the one with great burgers?”
“Yeah of course.” He nodded.
You pouted as you tried to sit up, feeling extremely sleepy. “I want to go get those burgers, but I’m so tired.” You said, stretching your arms up in the air.
“Oh, that’s okay! I can order them and have the food delivered here.” Tom responded and you grinned widely, collapsing back on the bed next to him.
“Really? This is the best day ever! We’ve got to get extra food too because we skipped lunch.” You said and he laughed, agreeing with you.
“Yeah, we got to get those chili fries too. And milkshakes.” Tom added.
The two of you ordered a bunch of food and moved over to the living room. You started to tune the guitar that he got you, still so surprised with the gift. Tom was happily watching you before he got up and moved to the kitchen to get something.
“I got you one more gift.” He spoke up, walking back to where you were. You looked up at him, wondering what it was, but you were also a bit surprised. He was giving way too many gifts!
“Baby, this better be the last gift.” You joked.
“It is! I promise. Here you go.” He handed you a small box. You looked at it and shifted it in your hands, before opening it. The box had a dark red, crushed violet feel to it, and when you opened it, you saw a stunning necklace with the letter T on it.
“Aww, Tom! This is so cute.” You were shocked and in awe of it. It was so pretty, with a few jewels on it. “Can you put it on me, please?” You asked, watching as Tom looked relieved to see you like it.
“Yeah, sure.” He delicately put it around your neck. It sat down on your neck neatly, and Tom smiled as he watched you grin happily as you looked down at it.
“I love it so much. I love you, Tom. You’ve made this day absolutely perfect.” You whispered, gazing up into his eyes.
Tom leaned down and kissed your lips gently, pulling a breath away from you, “I love you too. You deserve every great thing in life. You’ve brought me a lot of happiness and whenever I look at you, I feel like I can see the entire world in color for the first time.” He murmured sweetly to you.
“Thank you, Tom, really.” You responded.
The food arrived about thirty minutes later and you and Tom devoured it all. It was delicious, and you absolutely loved it because it was from one of your favorite restaurants. You two ate while watching another one of your favorite movies.
When you two were finished, you guys cleaned up and threw the trash away, then went over to the garden to go sit on the porch swing to watch the sunset.
“It’s so pretty tonight.” You said, loving the view. You and Tom swung softly on the bench. You were finishing up your milkshake, while Tom got himself a cup of tea.
He gazed at you as he responded, “Yeah, you always are.”
Your eyes shifted over to him, and you realized what he meant after a moment and you felt your cheeks flush slightly, “Tom…”
“Mm, just speaking the truth.” He mumbled back, enjoying your reaction as you playfully rolled your eyes at him.
“I love you. I’ll always love you.” You spoke up after a moment of silence. Tom shifted his hand into yours and squeezed.
“Love you too, birthday girl.” He replied, scooting closer to you.
“I think this is one of the best parts of the day.” You said, a smile forming on your face as you gazed at him. “Because I’ll remember each time I see the sunset that you’ve given me something so precious in life. I feel so lucky to have your love.”
Tom squeezed your hand, “And I’m lucky to have your love as well. If I could, I’d give you all you’d want in the world, just to see your smile.”
