1. list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s) [which ofc im answering for gaalee]

the discord i'm in for it is the highlight of my day and forms approximately 65% of my social life! who knew you could hyperfixate on some gay ninjas and as a result, end up visiting people irl and getting christmas cards and making incredible friends all over the world? pretty sure i have standing invites to homes in at least 3 different countries rn. incredible

fic quality is fuckin'. superior. and i'm not saying that because i write, i'm saying that as a reader. it's a smallish fandom and yet there's folks who can write full-length novels like @sagemoderocklee and @the-moss-project, people who can write every possible trope and au greyson's georg @ghoste-catte and @urieskooki and so many others i couldn't list them all. it's beyond obvious that the authors who write the gaalees are SO passionate about them. writers i lov you evryday

seguing from that into art!?!? pleas i have a dragon hoard of fanart only for my fics and there's over 100 pieces. A HUNDRED ARE TIOYU GIKISDINDIGME. giving u all a kissy rn. also the way i can get on discord and get immediately smacked in the face with bespoke paneenis liike every day help. gheelpp don't look at me. i will save my money and commission every one of u if its the last htign i do

2. a headcanon you weren’t sure about at first but have come to like!

oho! ready for this one? i was initially not super on board with hairy!lee. what was i on actually. me, a Wrong, and now i will purposefully include it in every fic as a sign of penance for my sins

4. say something nice about a ship you don’t ship (it can be another ship in your fandom, a mutual’s OTP, etc)

those who know me know that i strictly see leesaku as a brOTP, like those dudes are buddies to me. but that being said, i think leesaku as a romantic pairing is far healthier for sakura than her canon partner. lee is capable of so much love and forgiveness and they do parallel each other so much as the like... "underdog"/non-gifted member of their respective teams. she deserves love and support and understanding and lee would be genuinely ideal for it.

5. something you see in fics a lot and love

sunans (and team gai) being multilingual. oml one of my fave headcanons. you cannot tell me these different countries with different isolated villages are all casually speaking the same language when in big chunks of nart they didn't even like. get along properly. i loooove the concept of a shinobi common tongue and regional languages. further on that same thing, given team gai is pretty chinese-coded, i think it makes sense that they'd also be speaking another langauge, whether taught by gai or just because of their own independent histories or whatever. @sagemoderocklee has some truly stunning worldbuilding and it where i got my love for this hc from <3

6. something you see in art a lot and love

ok joking aside i refuse to believe gaara made it past like 5'3" that man did not sleep for his whole adolescence. conversely lee was probably on the Optimum Macros and that healthy eating would 100% contribute to maximum height gains etc. that man deserves to be 6 feet tall, that's my opinion and im right

All of it. I think I get repetitive with my word usage or the the like rhythm and pacing of my sentence structures. Also action sequences are really hard. I think my dialogue is kinda eh too

Um no thoughts, im not like against it or anything, I just don’t at all trust myself—or google translate—to properly write another in language. But I guess I sometimes will include certain words, or have alluded/implied to characters speaking in another language

19. First fandom you wrote for?

First ever was ATLA, it was written down in my lil notebook  in gel pen, the dialogue was color coded aha, that had to have been like 2006. First I’ve posted online was for Nart in 2022 

20. Favorite fic you've written? uhh maybe the unpublished Kashi-Kami 17th century Japan au, she’s an Oiran and he’s a Samurai. Of the published stuff I guess the long fic. ok, i have found something! originally i planned to write a fic for @foolishk s birthday this month thats a short fic of her OC kaiya and Gai in my Ikigai Au. To keep a long story short, kaiya becomes a shut in after a failed ANBU mission leaves most her squad dead and then she lives alone until Gai comes in one day and like forces his way into her live with sunshine and good vibes and yeah they marry eventaully and have a daughter. i thought i oculd summerise their story in like 5 chapters or so as a birthday present. but now i have a different plan, sorry kali

Chapter 1: They are finally dating

In October, the Ame trio came to visit Naruto's family, having promised to stay until Naruto's 6th birthday.

Nagato was staying with Naruto while his parents were on their busy schedule. Naruto was scribbling a drawing of a frog while his big brother was reading a book.

“When I'm done with it I'll give it to you!”

“Aw, that's very nice of you Naruto.”

“Heehee”

Nagato glanced up from the pages to see the little boy frantically coloring his frog with a very bright shade of green and smiled.

“If you want you can give this frog two friends so Yahiko and Konan can have one too.”

“Ohhh! Yes, a good idea!”

He abandoned his coloring to pick up a red crayon and added another round frog to the drawing, then another. After a bit he looked at his drawing proudly then looked at his big bro for approval. Nagato took the drawing to inspect it, smiled and ruffled the boy's hair to congratulate him.

“Thank you Naruto, it's very nice, I'm sure Yahiko and Konan will love it too.”

“Tell big sis Konan that I even added flowers on the frog for her just like the one she has!”

“She'll love it, Naruto. Good job.”

The little kid smiled and started another drawing then stopped and bit, thinking, then turned to Nagato.

“Big bro Nagato... Yahiko, Konan and you aren't related, right?”

“No we're not, it's just you and I who are of the same clan.”

“I knew it! Because I saw Yahiko and Konan kiss the other day!”

“Oh really?? They kissed? That's nice, it was about time.”

Yahiko and Konan had been mutually expressing interest in each other for a little while now. They've been timidly going out together and holding hands briefly and Nagato knew it was only a matter of time before they got closer.

Nagato's thoughts were interrupted as he heard the little boy's stomach gurgle. He smiled at him.

“Naruto, do you want to come with me? I'm going out to get some food.”

“Oh sure!!”

The little boy put his shoes on as quickly as he could and waited at the door while Nagato put his own on.

Nagato bought taiyakis for Naruto and himself and they wandered a bit around the market when suddenly Nagato froze. Naruto pulled on Nagato's black coat and asked him what was wrong.

“Oh, nothing lil bro. Look. There's Yahiko and Konan doing groceries over there.”

“OHH!! Let's join them!”

“NO- nononono. Look. They're holding hands!”

“Huh? And? I want to say hello to big sis Konan and big bro Yahiko!”

“Oh, I know sweetie, I'm sorry. But they're on a date right now, we shouldn't disturb them, let's have them enjoy their moment just the two of them.”

Nagato was looking at them smiling, as they both hid from the main street to be able to see them without being seen. But Naruto thought his big brother looked kind of sad in the way he smiled. Naruto pulled on his sleeve.

“Are you okay Nagato?”

“Hmm? Yeah don't worry. I was lost in my thoughts.”

He didn't know why, but watching his friends having fun like that without him kind of pinched his heart a little. He brushed the thought away from his mind and took Naruto's little hand to get him somewhere else.

synopsis: Shino goes to Kiba's football game to try and see Seina; Naruto finds out how long Seina has liked Shino for.

“You wanna what?”

“Come to the football game tonight.” Kiba laughed, leaning against the tree in the middle of the courtyard. 

“Why?”

“Because–”

“There’s a cheerleader in our class,” Shikamaru started, interrupted by a yawn, “who Shino’s interested in.”

“Oi!” Kiba wiggled his eyebrows at the Aburame, smirking. “Which one? Do I know her?”

“I hope not,” Shino muttered, looking away and spotting Seina with some of her friends; some he’s seen in the halls with her and others he’s never noticed before. 

“Iruka sensei’s sister,” Shikamaru yawned.  

“Seina Umino?!” Kiba shouted it so loudly, her head whipped around from across the way. Shino was quick to cover his mouth, sheepishly looking at her and spotting her little wave. Kiba licked Shino’s palm, the latter scrunching his nose and pulling his hand back. “Ain’t she roommates with Nart?”

“Who’s roommates with me?” The blonde questioned, sitting down next to Kiba. 

“Seina.”

“Iruka-sensei’s sister?” Shino hid his face in his palms, groaning low. Naruto smirked, spotting the blush Shino was sporting as he tried to clear his throat and change the subject. 

“The game starts at 8. Come to the dorm at 7.” Shino nodded, trying to hide in his collar from the complete embarrassment he was still feeling. He laid down on the grass next to Shikamaru, in hopes the position would rush the blood away from his face and Seina wouldn’t have to see him being awkwardly flustered by his friends.

“Oi, Seina!” Naruto shouted the minute he walked through their apartment door. The brunette shuffled from her room, in the middle of wrapping the bandage around her neck with a slight confused expression.

“I thought you were hanging out with your friends before the game. Are you by yourself?” The blonde nodded, putting his bag on the counter and Seina wandered up to him, holding the wrappings in her hand. Naruto finished securing it for her. 

“I wanna ask you something.”

“Sure”

“How do you feel about Shino?” Seina’s cheeks immediately flushed at the name, and she was thankful her back was to Naruto so he wouldn't see it. Or so she thought.

The Uzumaki flicked her reddened ear, laughing. “I knew it!”

“Shut up! You know nothing!”

“You like him!”

“Shhhh!” 

“Since when?”

“A-A few months?” She said it more as a question, wanting to avoid the fact that it’s been for the better part of a year that she’s liked the entomology student. His ocean blue eyes widened as he spun Seina around. 

“Is he the one you were talking about all those months ago that you thought was “super cute” and “checked all the boxes”?” Naruto grimaced at the memory. He was forced to listen to Ino and Seina squeal about boys because none of his friends were free that night to hang out.

“Stop putting them in air quotes!” 

“It’s what you said!” 

“Just,” Seina pouted up at the taller man. “Don’t tell him, please. Don’t tell him I like him.” Naruto could only smile and nod, patting her head. 

“Here’s to socializing, Shino!” Naruto shouted as Kiba handed everyone their own shots. They were surrounding the outside of the locker room – Choji, Kiba, and Naruto standing in their jerseys while Shikamaru and Shino leaned on the wall together. 

“This is what you do before a game?” Kiba grunted, shoving on his shoulder pads while Naruto followed suit. 

“It’s tradition, Aburame!” One of the other players interrupted, patting him on the shoulder. “First time I’ve seen you outside of school.” 

“Yeah, I wanted to try new things. Reason being–”

“Hey, Nart. Have you talked to Seina about me yet?” Sora rudely interrupted, looking at the Uzumaki who just rolled his eyes. 

“Yeah and she said,” Naruto stuck his finger into his open mouth, pretending to gag. His other hand moved to smack Sora’s shoulder. “Also, don’t interrupt my friend.” 

“Shut the fuck up.” He shoved the other before turning and leaving to go talk to some of the other people littering the bleachers. 

“He’s still after her?” Shikamaru rolled his eyes, pushing off the brick and getting out his cigarettes. Meanwhile, Shino hid inside his collar, a frown etched onto his features. If there was someone already pining after Seina, he wasn’t going to get in the way. He would just be her friend and offer advice if she needed it. 

“Y’all ever wonder why Seina wears a bandage ‘round her neck?” A quick glance at Naruto and Kiba added, “Maybe not Nart, but anyone else?”

“Naruto, do you know why she wears one?” The blonde nodded, slipping into his shin guards and cleats. 

“I do, and I won’t tell ya why.”

“C’mon. What is she hiding?” 

“Oh, I bet it’s a tattoo–”

“Maybe an ugly birthmark–”

“It’s probably a scar–” 

Shino drowned out the sounds of his friends' voices when he saw the subject of said discussion walk by. It must have been the first time Shino had seen her without her seeing him. Her phone was pressed to her ear and she spoke animatedly, a smile on her face. She carried her pom poms in her other hand, occasionally smacking herself with the ends as she laughed. Shikamaru, who had been silently keeping an eye on his friend, patted the taller man’s shoulder. 

“You alright?” Shino looked at him confused. Shika just pointed his chin in Seina’s general direction. “You know, Sora’s been pining after her for years, but she’s always said no.” 

“Why?”

“I guess she’s not into jocks.” Shino tried not to let it set the fire of hope in his belly, but he couldn’t help it because, maybe he did have a chance.

Shino felt out of place. Literally. He was the tallest student in his class. He could easily see over the heads of multiple people even sitting down. He wanted to hide in the crowd, wanted to keep himself hidden just until the game was over and he could quietly slip out with his friends and head home. Really, he had no intention of finding Seina and making small conversations outside of class. At this point, he was regretting even coming out.

“Why are we sitting so far away?” Sai asked, not unkindly. Ino shrugged, tugging him down next to her. 

“Because Shino doesn’t want to be seen by Seina.”

“But doesn’t she–” Sakura was quick to cover Ino’s mouth, hushing her while Sai just laughed. 

“Shino’s like a tree, anyway. It’d be hard for her not to see him.” 

Ino added, “And take your sunglasses off. It’s night time.” Before Shino could snarl a response, the drill team started and the cheerleaders came running out. 

Finding Seina was easy; she was the only one with a scar on her jaw. Shino tried his best not to stare, he always did, but seeing her flying through the air with a bright smile on her face made it oh so impossible. She was like a magnet, his gaze always coming back to her. 

“Nana, don’t look now, but the cute guy with the sunglasses is up in the bleachers.”

Shino’s here?!

Despite her teammate telling her not to, she turned her head slightly, eyeing the sunglass clad student. It was hard not to miss him. He was sitting directly behind her brother and his boyfriend. 

It was almost impossible for the brunette to not be excited about Shino coming to the game. Maybe he was here to see Kiba and Naruto, but he was still there and she was still able to see him. Seina couldn’t thank the lights enough for the crowd being unable to see the blush creeping up her neck and cheeks. 

After their set, Seina sat down beside one of the other cheerleaders, sipping from their bottles and panting their lungs out. 

“Hey, you should ask him if he wants to come to the party tonight.”

“Oh, I don’t think he’s like that.” 

“C’mon. You could try. Besides, I know Sora is going and at least if Shino comes, you won’t be subjected to his annoyingly terrible flirting.” Seina sputtered a laugh, shoving her friend by the shoulder. She leaned back against the wall, watching the football game come to a close. Once it was announced that their school won, Seina jumped from her seat and looked up the bleachers again, only to frown. 

He’s not there..

She spun around, finding Kiba and running over to him, firstly congratulating him and then to question where Shino was.

“I’m not sure. If he’s not up there, he might have gone home.” His amber eyes caught the brief pout before she hid it with a smile and nod. 

“That’s okay. I’ll just see him on Monday.”

“Yeah,” Kiba hummed. Naruto stopped beside the two of them.

“See you at the party.” She waved, running back to grab her bag and run up the bleachers to meet her brother. 

“What happened?”

“She was looking for Shino.”

i’m SO SORRY this took me so long to complete; i know i said it might take a while but i still never meant for it to take THIS long;;; i’ve been really busy lately and when i actually get some free time i just don’t have any mental energy left😫 ANYWAY, this is by no means an exhaustive list of my faves, but my memory’s p terrible, so this is the best i could do😭 I’M SURE there are many excellent fics that i just couldn’t recall on the spot, but I TRIED😣 listed in no particular order:

40m² by winterdesu: rating: mature; words: 11,544; post-war cohabitation; nar & sask emotionally support each other, cook together, and grow a balcony-full of houseplants. a smidgen of angst.

Scores, Settled by hanakage: rated: M; words: 8,908; bartender naruto, ad-exec sasuke. sasuke goes to the bar naruto works at during the world cup to research an ad campaign he’s working on. naruto shares his love of football w him and stuff… idk it’s rly cute i’m bad at summaries just read it lol

Advantage: Us by sirona: rating: Teen And Up Audiences, words: 30,947; tennis au; the boys meet when they’re kids at a tennis camp and then go on to compete against each other at Wimbledon when they’re older! idk if u can tell but i looove sports aus, even though i know NOTHING about any sport lol. there’s a short vignette that follows this fic, Home is where you are, rated Mature.

bleary by upottery: rating: Explicit; words: 2,813; this one’s basically a pwp, but w a looot of emotions and intimacy and j u s t 😌 it’s v soft n good and i love it. ninjaverse!

Spacey ramen and the idiotic two by taeggukswitch (rooxynroll): rating: Teen And Up Audiences; words: 10,950; idiots in spaaaaace! nar is a pilot and sasuke’s a programmer, they meet when they’re paired up for an exploration trip. as one of the author’s tags says, ‘they’re intelligent af but also share one brain cell’ and this is extremely correct. it’s just a v cute and enjoyable read! 

prairie town by applecrumbledore: rating: Teen And Up Audiences; words: 8,698; sasuke’s a research scientist who moves to a small town; his car breaks down and he meets hunky local mechanic naruto. i’m sooo bad at summaries lmao, but this is super soft and sweet and i read it whenever i’m feeling down as i consider it to be a p reliable cure for depression! 

Realization (In a Drunken Haze) by playitagain: rating: Mature; words: 25,509; major warnings for alcoholism/alcohol abuse, so if that’s something that really bothers you, you should maybe avoid this one! personally, i think this is the most realistic depiction of alcoholism & recovery i’ve ever read in a fanfic- so often, even when it’s pretty clear that one of the characters has a drinking problem, it’s never really addressed, or even if it is, there isn’t a realistic portrayal of the recovery process. like, the character will just fall in love and then miraculously get over their problem and then it’s happily ever after. and while having a caring, supportive partner can be an essential part of recovery, love isn’t a magical cure, yk? ANYWAY, nar’s an english professor working toward his phd, sasuke is a student (not in any of nar’s classes) working on his master’s degree. iirc, sasuke’s age was ever specified, but i don’t THINK it’s implied that there’s any more than a few (maybe 2 or 3?) years difference between them, so no ugly a/ge g//ap business going on here. nar’s in steadfast denial throughout most of the fic that he’s an alcoholic, but with sasuke’s support, he finally starts on the (sometimes bumpy) road to recovery.

What about you? by cambion: rating: Teen And Up Audiences; words: 14,974; nar’s two best friends both come out to him, forcing him to get introspective about the exact nature of his feelings for sasuke. this one’s ninjaverse, with sasuke AND team taka back in konoha, and idk it’s just v gooood…

here comes the sun (and his kid, and a whole lot of love) by moonwatcher: rating: Explicit; words: 34,808; modern, single parent au. this one does have past ss and nh, but they’re really almost never mentioned so even if that’s typically a disqualifier for you, you still might enjoy this one. sas n nar meet at a pta meeting at their kids’ school, where nar is also a teacher. there are a looot of cute sasuke & sarada moments in this, some cute nar & boruto moments as well (no himawari in this fic tho; both guys each have only one kid), and some gooood mutual pining. it’s just really sweet and cute and i liked it a lot!!

Tough Love by Rasengan22: rated T; words: 5,729; this one’s p angsty compared to most of the other recs on this list; sasuke’s suffering from PTSD and depression following a car accident, and he’s isolating himself and having difficulty leaving his house as a result. he’s successfully managed to push most of his friends away, however naruto proves to be incredibly persistent and won’t give up trying to help him. as someone who is struggling with a lot of the same issues that sasuke is, this one hit home really hard for me. i just WISH i had a naruto who refused to give up on me;;;;

Change by stammi_vicinora: rating: mature; words: 18,378; naruto convinces sasuke to take an unprecedented day off from work, and sasuke uses his free day learning to relax and unwind a bit w his bf. this one’s just really fluffy and sweet!!!

All things of dearest value hang on slender strings by sirona: rating: Mature; words: 15,713; hokage naruto and anbu captain sasuke. during a particularly hot summer in konoha, naruto plans a beach festival for all the villagers. this one’s really fun and cute, and it may already be on virtually every fic rec list ever made, but it’s one of my faves so i still have to include it!!

Love Is Blind by OfFansAndFlames: rating: Teen And Up Audiences; words: 992; after an accident causes him to lose his vision, sasuke plays it pretty safe for the first couple of years, until naruto convinces him to put his trust in him and take a risk: by going for a ride with him on the back of his motorcycle. this one’s short & sweet, and i just loooove the element of taking a leap of faith with someone you feel safe & comfortable with to do something that’s seemed impossible to you for so long. it reminds me that with the right support, you can do things that have seemed beyond your capabilities and find a new appreciation for life! ❤

the hard-knock life of a walmart cashier by geminiuchiha: rating: General Audiences; words: 26,650; nart & sask are college students and co-workers at walmart in this one, and it’s just!! rly funny and cute!!! i know i’ve described p much every fic so far as cute sdjslfjdssd but that’s my favorite kind of fic, so !!! mutual pining ftw!!

Mirai Kissaten by fourangers: rating: General Audiences; words: 3,586; despite the fact that he doesn’t really like coffee, sasuke ended up becoming a regular at a coffee shop near his work. it might have something to do with the cute owner that always serves him when he stops by every evening on his way home. this is a really cute coffee shop au, super fluffy and sweet!

What are mun’s ships for their muses?

     [ A good question, nonny! In truth I don’t have that many...? A lot of the charries I write here I consider either VERY difficult to ship, or have one set ship for them. I’m gonna put this under a cut cuz it’ll probably be long, lol ]

Itachi: So this particular Itachi, by default (as with all the muses here, actually) is from a very long RP before Tumblr with two friends. In that RP, he was paired with the main muse from @kusunokihime! And because of the nature of how that story went (which I call A Light Amongst Shadows, the primary verse here), I don’t have him open to ship with anyone else. T’is just how the narrative works!

Sasuke, by default, I ship with Hinata (typically mine, but also with @historias-multorum in our little blending of verses). I...really don’t see him ever shipping with anyone else simply because of how closed-off I write him? I could talk about it for days but in short, he’s just not really a shippy kinda guy.

Hinata is probably my most openly-shippable canon bean! By default I do write her with my Sasuke, but honestly she’s a very loving girlie, so I can see her opening up to other muses! I actually do love Naru///Hina, but not so much the canon version. I’d love to write out a romance with them from scratch! Otherwise, with her, I don’t have much planned / established beyond with my Sasuke, but she’s very compatible imo!

Shisui is...complicated. I’ve shipped him twice in the past, on a different blog I had: with @wanderingmelodies‘ Rin, and @quiet-kunoichi‘s Kimiko. In all honesty Shisui’s a very charming, flirty guy? But he’s actually really flighty when it comes to actual relationships, and he’s not about hookups. He just likes to tease. In actuality he’s very hard to pin down, mostly because of how I write his time between his “death” and his reappearance post fourth war. He’s got some unpacking to do. So while he might flirt with a muse, it wouldn’t be easy to actually ship with him. Otherwise, I don’t have anything set up! And I’m not sure if either of those ships are ongoing with the new blog~

Neji I by default ship with Tenten - I have another muse who is his biological child with her, and another they adopt! Given how prim and proper he is (very...old-school. Kinda conservative?), it’d take some work to get with him in an AU. He’s haughty and proud. Proving themselves to him for another muse would be hard, but...not ENTIRELY impossible?

Hanabi I don’t really ship. I think Kono///Hana is cute, but I’ve never actually written it. I don’t have her paired with anyone in the ALAS fic as of yet! She’s a bit like Shisui: a little precocious, but also conscious of her role as Hyūga heiress.

Tenkai (my older Sasu///Hina babb) I pseudo-ship with Akane on my other blog, who is a Naru///Saku daughter! I say pseudo cuz...they only get up to 14 in the fic, so...not really the age to fully date, imo lol. I haven’t gotten to write him much, so I’m not fully sure how well he’d open up to other ships? But we could try!

Chikyū (the younger Sasu///Hina babb) is...a strange bean. I don’t ship her with anyone, and...I’m not sure how she’d react to shipping lol (tho again, since they stay minors, it wouldn’t be anything hot and heavy unless written at a point in their timeline where they are adults). But again, I haven’t written her much, so we’d have to just see!

Higure (Neji’s adopted pseudo-clone...see her bio for details cuz it’s a long story lol) I pair with Fugaku II on the main blog. I’ve...never really considered shipping her! But she might give it a try. They’d have to be very patient though, she’s a fragile bean.

Hinode is the Neji///Ten bean, and by default he’s with Reika II on the main blog. But he’s a good kiddo, he’d probably get along with someone else all right! Keyword is kid, tho - just fluff unless aged up!

Manami is my OC I made to be both Mikoto’s older sister, and Shisui’s mother! I write her with another OC, Junichi, meant to be Kagami’s son. But she IS originally slated to marry Fugaku, so...that’s something I sorta ship? Otherwise she’s pretty chill, so honestly I’d say she might consider a ship if she got on with someone okay! I also guilty pleasure ship her with Reika on the main blog, but...that’s a major AU lol

Hanako, Hinata and Hanabi’s mother, I really only ship with Hiashi. But I haven’t had any inklings of other ships? Maybe with Mikoto in a random AU, I dunno!

Hotaru, Neji’s mom...I dunno. She’s very staunch in her beliefs, so she’d probably only ever get with another (male) Hyūga. But hey, things happen!

Mikoto’s primary ship is, of course, with Fugaku. But I dream of a modern AU (or maybe even canon >w>) where she and him end up seeing things differently and divorce...and she ends up with Kushina. At first as friends, but then things...y’know...it’d be cute xD LET NART AND SAUCE BE ACTUAL BROTHERS. Otherwise, I’ve never planned or plotted anything with her!

Fugaku is again with Mikoto, maybe Manami. Otherwise...no idea. He’s a bit of a grump, but just...overly serious (as laid out in his bio). I dunno how he’d get on with other muses. We’d have to see!

Obito I don’t really ship. Maybe in an AU with Rin, tho I kinda prefer Kaka///Rin, tbh. I DO sometimes indulge @abyssaldespair‘s anons about OUR ship on THIS blog, but otherwise...I just don’t see him derailing his plan for a romance. It just doesn’t seem viable to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Madara I also don’t really ship? I only write him in a few AUs, and...they’re not too flashy with him. AtLA he has whatever NPC wife to carry on the main Fire Nation family. Pokémon he’s too busy running Team Rocket. DL, he’s kinda lost it. And OMaM...he’s open to brief flings, but not anything solid. He sort of treats partners like...an entertainment. And things get old. Heck he even treats the one ship I have on the other blog like that. So...actual romance? Prooobably not. MAYBE flings in OMaM, but...I’m not that great at writing random smut? So I doubt I’d actually write anything out.

     Anyway...I guess that’s everyone? There’s a lot of...variety in how I perceive each muse and their ability to form relationships. My more “main” muses (those toward the top on the muse page) tend to have very severe mental and emotional trauma. Forming bonds isn’t easy. And I don’t wanna make anyone ooc of how I write them just to ship, y’know? But thank you for asking! 13. Favorite writing song/artist/album of this year:

I tend to listen to instrumental music when I write so I’m not distracted by lyrics and the two artists that I listened to the most are: Yo-Yo Ma and Ali Farka Touré. There’s so much passion and emotion in their performances that I can’t help but be swept away. They have the incredible ability to make their respective instruments (cello, guitar) to seem to speak and sing.

14. A fic you didn’t expect to write:

I answered this one in a previous Ask, but I can easily give a different answer to this same question because, honestly, I’m surprised that I’m writing and sharing stories in the first place hahaha!

I never, ever thought that I would write AU’s (!!!) Most of my hc’s come from wanting to weave my ideas into canon--it’s a challenge that I love. But this past year, I’ve written 3 (I think?) AU’s: one modern teacher and one forest spirit AU for the KakaYama event last May, and recently a time travel story where I sent 4 of the Nart knuckleheads to the Warring States Period of Japan.

Each of those stories presented their own challenges to write, and I enjoyed the process, so I think I’ve almost convinced myself to try writing other AU’s haha!

Thank you so much! I’m putting it under a cut bc its Long but please read as it includes fic recs, possible upcoming fics from myself and a whole lot of other author appreciation!

1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.

Hm…Fantasy AUs, Mundane AUs with a REALLY GOOD twist (either mentioned or as a surprise), Canon-Divergent fics that either delve deeper into a character development and ‘what-ifs’, and stories with more to them than ‘character A + B (+ C, etc) get together - I like stories with relatable or interesting plots.

4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

Hm…I have MANY ideas tbh, but if I were to write them I’d need to fill out the plots a LOT more! 

I think that my fav idea that I would have the most to work with rn is my Nart Pitch Perfect AU (Which sounds a little strange but me and @artlessictoan have worked out the entire plot and its Good Shit) but I don’t know whether I just wanna make redraw scenes and write up a few snippets or draw a few comics of the plot and stuff? Idk, I’m still debating on that one, lemme know what you think!

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

‘ November 5th was certainly going to be remembered by every one of their classmates, but for all the wrong reasons. It was no one’s fault, the firework had simply been a faulty one. Accidents caused by them happen by the thousands every year.

But the memory of Sakura, still only in her second year of Uni studying to be a doctor, saving Naruto’s life with a blanket and plenty of pressure, the ambulance rushing him off to A&E for emergancy surgery, huddled as a group of eleven in a crowded waiting room with nothing but hope and fear until the early hours of the morning… It was a memory that would haunt them their entire lives.

And as for their failure of a relationship, that was the last straw. It wasn’t as though Hinata wasn’t supportive of Naruto, of course she was - all of their friends were, but the stress tore the two apart. But what was even scarier, was the fact that, apparently, if you break up with someone, it’s impossible to stay friends with them. But how could they not stay friends? They were simply too important to each other to loose.

As Hinata staired at Naruto, the golden light bouncing off the frost dusted windows catching in his hair and highlighting his olive skin in an orange glow, real arm reaching down to change his car’s gear, face alight with new hope and happiness… The content warming her heart like a fire in a harth told her that she wouldn’t have life any other way.” ‘ - Exeunt, Chapter 2.

I think this is my favourite piece of writing that I’ve done recently because it starts of very jarring, really the first angsty/darker part of this fic - and there will be more of that to come, just some warning - but it ends in a really peaceful, warm way that I think really ties that section of the story up nicely. I’m also really happy of the way it flows and builds back up from the trauma into something lighter.

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Make characters flawed, conflict one of your best plot-bunny devices, find yourself a Writing Alpha bc Artless is The Best tbh and my writing is improving tenfold after just a few sessions with them talking abt my stories.

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.

I’d say when I’m REALLY in the Mood to write something/the scene I’ve been stuck on, or if something has just Clicked in trying to work out how to progress with a fic. In my bed with comfy clothes and fairylights on in the evening after dinner. Listening to a playlist that immerses me into the story and scene I’m writing and no distractions.

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

If I could then I would re-write, or continue (because the sequel hasn’t updated in 3 years) the Coming To Terms series. It was actually one of the first fics I completely fell in love with and its super mundane and there are lots of different plots for various characters while still keeping the pace and keeping track of various storylines. It had a REALLY GOOD ending to the 1st part but there was SO MUCH more potential for the sequel and there was a lot of unresolved things and it was all leading up to one big bang which it didn’t get around to. Honestly I highly recommend it though, its super nostalgic for me and still one of my fav works of all time!!!

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

Exeunt, without doubt. It’s the Magnum Opus of all my Naruto AUs and something that I want my writing to develop with as it is created. I think it has the most potential too seeing as it is completely different to the original Naruto series so it has the potential to be a stand-alone thing.

27. How do you feel about collaborations?

Oh boy, oh man I LOVE collabs. Have you even read A Time For Change, holy shit that AU is just like my Happy Place and its SO NICE to talk about the plot with someone else without spoiling anything bc you’re both in on it?? Its just a really special experience!

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Hooo boy here we go.

@artlessictoan, holy shit, their works are just. Goals. Absolutely, this isn’t even coming from a ‘i work with them a lot so i have to be nice 2 them’ this is a legit thing like their fics are some of my favourites of all time and their characterization is SO SPOT ON. They’re REALLY GOOD at writing dialogue and they really delve into the root of the story when it comes to writing them, their research shows through so well and they cover things that you wouldn’t even think of. They’re one of those writers where you have to just step back after reading one of their works and think ‘Oh my god. Oh my god what a wild ride why didn’t I think of that oh my gOD.’ Check out their work, seriously guys!

@linddzz Oh my god, their writing, where do I even begin. They NAIL the characters completely and utterly when they write them, they really bring to light Credence’s personality and the problems and issues he had to face and faces still, especially in my favorite of their fics A Study on the Habits of the Adult Obscurial. I really like the way they represent Newt also, he doesn’t know how to People very well and he’s just so very in-character that once you read their fic you just accept it as canon honestly.

@jinglebellfic Listen up folks if you haven’t read Riptide Lover then you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD, its one of my favorite works and it’s been updating for YEARS and its still being updated bc they talk abt it all the time and this AU just gives me LIFE. Just a warning for those who aren’t keen that it is Very NSFW but the story just has SUCH A GOOD PLOT and it starts BANG in the middle of the action, no messing around, it’s so well-written that I was sucked into the story (and the fandom, this fic is what got me into it in the first place!) so quickly and I enjoyed it so much that I spent abt a week reading it whenever I had the spare time to. It’s very nostalgic to me now and it makes my entire month when it updates.
