Hi guys. I just had my feet surgery almost a week ago. Today's the 5th day, to be exact, and I badly want to get out of these bandages already as they're looking quite a mess and it just feels too itchy inside. I'm due for check-up on the second week. Until then, I just have to sacrifice for now and gently poke my feet with Q-tips as a way to relieve the itching.

Btw, I think I'm recovering very well. It's still bruised but that's expected. I managed to start walking (by heel bearing) as soon as I was fully awake from general anaesthesia and was discharged on the same day. I bought a walking frame but honestly I only used it for a day lol

I also only took pain killers during the first three days but, because I feel like Codeine is making me too drowsy, I decided to stop and just reached for Paracetamol instead if needed. What I feel is more of discomfort actually, as every time I try to walk (which I only limit to bathroom breaks) I can feel my dressings get tight -- which means it's still swollen, so it really helps when I keep my feet elevated.

I'm so happy I went ahead with the procedure. It was postponed twice but finally happened right before another doctor's strike came about. One of the perks is that I'm on a three-month leave. This gives me enough time to recover AND study for NCLEX, binge watch on Netflix/Prime Video, read romance novels, and lose some weight!

ok so apparently Unova is pretty chilly right now, and while I can’t help directly I thought I’d share some tips on combatting frostbite since I know a thing or two about it (crown tundra make some noise)

Probably the most important piece of advice is to not expose the frost bitten area to direct heat like a fire, and don’t rub the affected area either. While both of these reactions may be instinctual or seem like a good response, they can actually cause further damage.

Instead, the rewarming process should be gradual. You should immerse the frostbitten area in warm - not hot - water, or use a sponge to soak it. This process should last at least thirty minutes, or until the body part can be easily moved.

Do not start the rewarming process until you are away from the cold environment. Re-exposure to the elements after an attempted rewarming could cause permanent damage.
