Absolutely moving all your titles (mine feel very plain in comparison lmao) but I have to know more about Light Touched (Elrond's Eldritch Silmaril-touched Parents (all 4 of them))!!!!

Haha its funny you should say that, I very much agonize over coming up with titles. It's often the last thing I add to a fic, so I'm glad they are effective.

Anyway, Light Touched is about how the Silmarils change Elwing, Eärendil, Maglor and Maedhros in both body and soul after the end of the First Age, and how they become legends and rumours and figures of supertitious folktales throughout Middle-earth, doing heroic deeds (some of them more descreetly than others)

Here, have a snippet of Maedhros discovering that he's not so elven anymore:

The Silmaril shone radiantly, still in his hand even after he had let himself fall into the earth’s fire. No, he wasn’t holding it anymore. The gem was literally in his hand, embedded in his palm like it was its rightful place.

Horrified, he reached to touch the gem inside him with his stump, only for a perfectly intact hand to grasp at it.

Air escaped him, and shock seized Maedhros’ body. As his mind began to spiral towards panic and answerless questions, it all became too much, and his right hand was suddenly dissolving and oozing away into a puddle of molten lava.

He yelped and jerked his large frame backwards, animal instinct telling him to get away, despite his hands – the jewelled and the now handless – being attached to his body. Fear and confusion warred within him as he kept backing away.

Then Maedhros caught on fire.

Jaskier dies.

Maybe it's heroic. Maybe it's not. Maybe Geralt and Yen were there. Maybe they weren't. Maybe Ciri still beats herself up about not being fast enough. Maybe she doesn't. Maybe Geralt knew when it happened. Maybe he didn't. Maybe it was traumatic. Maybe it wasn't.

Point is, Jaskier is dead. Jaskier has been dead for centuries.

Geralt and Yen and Ciri are on the path still, when they stop for the night. There's a fire burning, and they're all exhausted, but Ciri is still cold, and struggling to sleep.

She could swear someone just draped their coat over her. Is holding her close. Is humming a tune long forgotten by the world. There is no-one there, but somebody is stroking her hair regardless. She closes her eyes, pretending they don't sting, that she isn't deluding herself into thinking that he is singing her to sleep, because surely Yen and Geralt would notice if they had been being haunted for the past several hundred years.

Years later, Yen is striking out on her own for a bit. It's not that she doesn't love her family, but she does need a break from them at times.

She is taking the long route to what was once called Cintra, because if being functionally immortal has taught her one thing, it's that she has the time to get lost in the woods. If she didn't know better, she would say that she was being followed. But there is nothing there, magical or otherwise. Even so, she is being followed. Or, perhaps, haunted. She doesn't deal with hauntings much- it's more of a Witcher's job than a Mage's, but every Mage knows the basics.

For whatever reason, her ghostly companion can't or won't show their face, but are present enough that she feels followed. She abruptly sits where she stands, and addresses the air.

"I don't have the equipment for a proper seance on me, but I am willing to allow you to perform a minor possession on me." The air is still for a long moment, as is her mind, before she gets-

Ophianne has spent a long time cooking, she had to feed herself and Q'ihnn for most of their childhood and signed on to the culinarian's guild in Limsa as young as she could manage to learn more. It's become one of her favorite hobbies, being such a practical skill, but as such she has a LOT of opinions about food.

Her favorite flavors always come from ripe peppers and fresh eggs, especially together. Poached eggs in particular she finds best to pair with anything, but the rich yolk with a crisp spice is her favorite combination!

it went so good!! we put a lot of planning into it and got a hotel room on valentine's day with plenty of space to be playful and do what we want!

for the scene, my dom got me my own dog bowl (and then made me take it home :P) and i had dessert out of it one night (apple pie hehe) and some water, and then the next day (cus he let me do it for two days!!), i had pasta! it was super hard to eat out of cus i had my hands taped up like paws, so sometimes he pushed my head down (or stepped on it) and got my face and hair all messy lol

he also walked me up and down the room a few times (by leashing my day collar) and got me to speak for him, which was a ton of fun too :3

my main tip for any scene is to try to pay attention to your body, even in headspace, and trust that your dom will pick up on cues if you're uncomfortable. if you need to change a position, let your dom know, if you need to get off your knees, do it (cus i got some gnarly carpet burn on my knees ;u;).

otherwise, go puppy mode and have so much fun!!

What are the RO's plus the others opinion on the horror genre? Are they horror fanatics, scaredy cats or just neutral about any horror content?

I would say around the board its generally positive!

Mori loves horror but sometimes has bouts of inappropriate laughter during slasher flicks or particularly gruesome scenes because he likes the thrilling aspect very much. He Will try to scare you afterwards so don't be afraid to hit him with something.

Amir doesn't much care for a lot of horror but BOY he gets enraptured by really tense psychological horror. Detective stories/murder mysteries get him, a good ghost story with complex lore to unravel, and really tense build up even in something like Alien is his absolute favorite. Don't be surprised to find he's got a whole five nights at freddy's timeline hashed out in his notes app after he watched you play the game once.

Akello's probably the most neutral, tends to appreciate the classics and movies along those veins a lot. Loves big monster movies, Shin Godzilla is one of his favorites. He likes monster and supernatural horror the best, will get legitimately creeped out by a well made serial killer horror.

Kazu's a fan of mixed genres but isn't picky over all. He likes the super hero plot mixed with elements of body horror and hyperviolence in old Kamen Rider, The Fly, and things along that line. But he also likes splatterhouse movies too and particularly loves Jason movies.

Raath wants DRAMA and EFFECTS. He's kind of a fan of super gorey movies where the horror comes from watching human trauma unfold because he's a shameless, maladjusted sadist. He will cackle during Saw.

Marcel talks big game but he's kind of a chicken shit under his posturing. Ghost/Supernatural movies scare him the most, he didn't answer his phone for like two weeks after watching The Ring. He's the guy that overreacts in a Haunted House so he'll sit through anything but end up spilling his drink or something.

Ask game: soft and/or melancholy 🤍

oooh thank you so much, friend! this was such a pleasure. unsurprisingly, i use "soft" often, mostly referring to hands or the way light looks. this excerpt is an outtake from my 2022 wireless, Meet Me at Midnight. an earlier version of the story made one of the main characters a far more sinister/mysterious figure -- those more frightening aspects were eventually transferred over to an OC character, 'Chiara'. this would have been right after the climactic scene, had that tone persisted!

Malfoy was waiting for him when he arrived.  It was a quiet scene — waves on a beach, the sunset red in the sky and the smell of salt on the air.  He looked… ordinary.

The blanket was black and white checkered. There was an open picnic basket, but Harry couldn’t see inside.  Malfoy’s shoulders and nose were sun-pink, unhidden by his thin white tee.

The beach stretched for miles, far beyond the end of vision. Harry could walk by the water.  He could dive into the sea.  He could run and run until he reached the colored lights in the distance.  The dream would allow him his usual escape, if he wanted it.

“Malfoy,” he said, hesitating at the edge of the blanket.

“Hello, Harry.” And oh, but Harry had forgotten the posh tones of that voice, the way Malfoy’s mouth folded around his name, like it was something forbidden. Malfoy’s voice was a revelation. 

“I can hear you.” 

“I can speak.”

“I’d forgotten…”

“What, you missed my voice? Come now, we don’t need to lie to each other.”

Harry knelt down beside him on the blanket, tucking his legs underneath him. The sand was warm to the touch and soft where it shifted under the fabric, spilled onto his shoes. “I’d gotten used to your silence.”

“I can, again. If that’s what you prefer.”  It was short, and sharp, but Harry caught the nervous grey in Malfoy’s eyes before Malfoy turned back to the sea.  The waves rolled uneasily — pale blue in the bright sunlight — and settled at the shoreline.

Can you remember your first impressions of Dan and Phil/how you reacted to them when you first watched them?

Yes I do! So, before I even knew what tumblr was, I watched a lot of YouTube, and saw all kinds of random videos. Some of those were the "supernote contest" videos where ppl would hold a not as long as possible lmao. Dan was one of the team captains or sth. I enjoyed the whole thing but then I forgot about him again. Then I migrated from DeviantArt to tumblr and saw Dan's face everywhere. So my first impression of Dan was literally:

"Who is this guy who keeps popping up on my feed?"

So I fell into a youtube hole and quickly noticed Dan was a true cheerleader for Phil. So I watched Phil's videos and was instantly hooked. So my first impression of Phil was:

"Wow what a gorgeous person with mesmerizing eyes"

That was the beginning of it all for me!!

Ok so I love crimson peak so so much and any ship is going to get a gothic au setting no matter what.

For this one specifically it has Lethyan with both Calcazar and Heinrix, where Lethyan marries Calcazar while Heinrix secretly pines for her. They all head off to this mansion in the middle of nowhere and ends with a big twist and tragic ending for Lethyan and Calcazar.

Idk if I'll get around to it, but it would be similar in story where there is a love story with ghosts.

i'm not realy a enemies to lovers type of person but holy fucking shit, somehow you have gotten the right amout of ''i care, deeply, truly, about this person'' and ''oh ny fucking god, can they shut the fuck up FOR ONCE. i need to fuck them. but because of my own issues, sure, but i need them dead like rn. for the love of god, can they fuck offf-''

and i think that's great. steve dosn't feel ooc, him feeling annoying and demanding without his softnes, also feels in character

sparky is wonderful, she'd messy and snarky and sharp around the edges as a means of survival. Of course steve wants to help, but she's not bucky so it's weird, comes off as entitled, ''lectury'' to sparks

i also think that it would be realy cool to expolore how, maybe, a relationship between bucky and sparks would function (i mean this fully platonicaly for both of them), cuz both are kinda fucked, and somewhat in a similar boat (with the whole...activation thing) the uncertainty if the people in your life can ever see you beyond the things you've been put through and all of that, y'know,

(but also it's your story, and it's realy fucking cool as is)

I tried to give both Steve and Reader traits that could either clash or bring the other balance, and also not make one All Good and the other All Bad. I love enemies to lovers but it can be really hard to find harmony between that hate and affection, and make the progression feel natural - that's what I've been trying to do and it's sooo good to hear that it's been working!

I love that you think that! My favorite Steve is CATWS Steve. He feels real but also holds all the traits we love about him. What's happening in this movie is also happening here: our man is under a lot of pressure from multiple sides (including Sparky's) and it's hard to let his true personality shine when he has so much on his shoulders. But with time we'll get some more of his softness, it's there

I added some of this glimpses already, but I hope to touch more on the post Civil War Accords soon, and show that he had to compromise a lot to get his team back to the comfort and resources of the Compound.

Their distrust of one another definitely made things more difficult than they could be. I'm so glad you touched this subject because it's for sure going to happen! I've started to set that up on part 5 and I want to get something going on part 6. Reader and Bucky have had very similar experiences, and that's the reason they've kept their distance so far - it's too close to home. If I may give an itty bitty spoiler, someone is gonna spill the beans about the record player, lol Also! Bucky has been Steve's wingman since the 1940s 👀

13 Did you write any jokes into this work? Which is your favorite?

I wrote quite a few jokes into The Acolyte. Despite it being a heavier work, Ailani’s internal monologue does tend to get a bit…loose. She jokes a lot, mostly because she’s so melodramatic.

I don’t really have a joke that stands out to me that I want to share, but I did really enjoy exploring the humor in melodrama.

14 If this fic was a TV series, which song would play during the opening credits, and which song would play at the end credits? What do these songs say about this work?

I really really love discussing music, so thank you for asking this!

So I have two very different vibes that I would love to approach this with. Part of me really wants a very vintage feel, a sort of surreal aesthetic, but another part of me really wants some more modern music. I think I’ll give two answers for each, one vintage song and one modern song.

For the opening credits, I would choose either Only You by The Platters or DVD Menu by Phoebe Bridgers. Though DVD Menu has no lyrics, I think both songs capture the weight that Ailani feels constantly. It’s this looming feeling that she must hold the entire world on her shoulders.

For the closing credits, I would choose either Dream by The Pied Pipers or Francesca by Hozier. I think both songs capture a different part of every inevitable end. Dream leans into Ailani’s desire for escapism yet the looming inevitable, where Francesca leans into how Ailani feels doomed to the inevitable but still determined. She would do everything a hundred times again, no matter how painful. I think both songs work, just at different stages of Ailani’s life.

15 Which character was your favorite to write in this work? Why do you enjoy writing them? Do you have a favorite line/quote from them?

This is a hard question. The obvious answer is Ailani, but my true answer is, I enjoyed writing canon characters through Ailani’s eyes. I really liked writing these misguided and distorted understandings of canon characters.

For example, Ahsoka Tano is a key figure in Star Wars canon, she is determined, powerful, intelligent, impulsive and reckless. However, Ailani does not want to perceive this complete reality. She doesn’t want to acknowledge Ahsoka’s flaws, especially her recklessness. Ailani wants to look after someone—she wants a sister and a friend. So Ailani often imagines Ahsoka as a gentler spirit than she actually is. Ahsoka is kindhearted and can be gentle, but Ailani clings to these traits, and glosses over everything else.

Due to this perception of reality, Ailani often misunderstands Ahsoka’s motives. Ailani often ignores how she and Ahsoka share a similar obsessiveness and stubborn attitude. Ailani doesn’t want Ahsoka to turn out like her, so she ignores so much, simply to comfort herself.

I loved writing these canon characters through Ailani’s eyes. It was so interesting.

This lady was born without any innate Magic despite coming from a bloodline chock full of it. Despite being taught day in and day out, being above average at the theory, she has never been able to cast alone.

After years of put downs from her family she makes contact with a being outside of reality. Neintur, A God of Knowledge, he claims, one banished for his actions, consuming the eyes of not only his followers but those innocent and unsuspecting. He knows things Nintora had never dreamed of, about things and people she thought she knew.

Nintora has a yearning of her own. She was taught to want and need and desire, and more than anything she wants a power of her own. She asks if he can grant this to her. He says no, but knows of a way she recieve it if she helps him.

Godhood. Just one should be enough to retore what is rightfully hers and more, though they are hidden and fleeting and usually only come out for those chosen by the already powerful.

So, she plays the villain. Attempting to lure out chosen Heroes by causing problems and snatching their potential from beneath their noses by using her cunning and pool of near infinite knowledge.

She's cheery and bubbly, prone to stupid impulsive decisions, and has a superiority inferiority complex. She loves no one and is attatched to and obsessed with her associates instead.
