I put on a video essay that had been reccommended to me for background noise and the YouTuber said something along the lines of "media is so over sexualized and hyperviolent and gritty which is why people are turning to Bluey to nurture their inner child" and I was like "what the fuck" and all the comments were like "yeah! If media wasn't so dark we could improve as a society, the companies aren't evil, media is just trying to brainwash us into thinking the world is bad and horrible" and this came from a million subs channel and I thought of how much you would hate it which is why I'm describing it to you so you can share in my pain and fantasize about lighting Bluey on fire

This sounds like something the CIA would blast into my cell for sleep deprivation torture ngl.

(Also one of the surest signs I'm getting old is that at some point they apparently replaced the blue cartoon dog on children's tv and I didn't even notice. Does this one even look for clues?)

My Favourite Albums of 2023

I listened to a lot of music last year: 231 LPs, plus EPs and compilations. This year, I listened to a lot less music: 141 albums and 24 EPs. I got a lot more into podcasts in 2023, and that meant a lot of audio time got eaten up listening to people talking instead of people making music. Renthe booktok/ice hockey post - there's a book on there thats been doing the rounds called icebreaker by Hannah grace and it's a romance between an ice hockey player and an ice skater. Obviously this is the only reason people are interested in ice hockey.
