summary: you had a little outburst in the control room, it kinda ended with a liability on your part, but it was nothing you couldn't fix. you just hadn't anticipated that miguel would come to visit you, see how you were doing, and... maybe feel your lips up a little with his own?

"well, this is unexpected." went a husky voice that you knew quite well. you didn't turn around, you knew exactly who it was–and as willing as you'd be to hug him since now was the perfect opportunity, you were not in the mood for it right now. you didn't ask him what he meant by 'this' being unexpected, you merely focused on the repairs that had to be done in the control room.
miguel placed his hands on his hips as he watched you fix up the panels you took apart from the control room. he sighed as he approached you and ended up a few inches away from you. "now i'm not even gonna ask anymore if this was the result of a freak accident or an outburst, but seeing as how margo didn't wanna elaborate on what happened... i can only assume what happened here." he said as he placed a hand on your shoulder, and he felt you were extremely tense.
you sighed as you put down your tools and looked at him. you had a look of fury in your face, but when miguel looked back at you with concern and sympathy for you... your gaze softened a little, and became one of disappointment. "...i broke it, but i'm gonna fix it myself." you said as you looked back at the practically demolished control panel. you rubbed your eyes as you shook your head. "i'm sorry, it's just, everyone kept bothering me today, and i... i just wanna hit something. it feels right, but when it's all said and done, i just... i feel like i was being more of a bitch than i meant to be, y'know?" you explained with a soft voice, laced with regret and shame.
you had so much pent up anger and frustration, and the worst part of it all was that they were all directed at such small, meaningless things–or small, meaningless things in the eyes of others, others who would never understand how small mistakes can be so irksome when you try your hardest to seem so put together and knowledgeable about everything because you're in charge.
miguel put a finger under your chin and shushed you gently. "i get it. i get it, you... you sometimes come off stronger than you intend to. and you know what, that's fine. we're heroes, but... people tend to forget we're human, too. hell, we even forget ourselves we're human." he said as he cracked a small smile up at you as you still frowned a little to yourself, at the shame you felt over your outburst. "again... don't get mad for wanting to do what feels right, not when you had no intention of hurting anyone and, like you are now, more than willing to fix your mistake." he said as he held your hand in his own. you slowly smile a little and chuckled slightly at his comforting words. "got it, o'hara." you said as miguel grinned at you.
after a while, he was helping you the best he could at fixing up the control panel–helping you replace and patch up whatever was salvageable. miguel admitted to you, though, he wasn't the most specialized in the field of technology, but he was here if you ever needed anything. he did as you directed him, and in a few hours, you two were mostly done. all you needed help with was for miguel to hold something down as you were screwing it down, and he did so, but... he did it from behind you, now it's like he's caging you in his embrace.
"alright, the control panel's fixed." you said as you turned to face miguel, whose face was now centimeters away from your face. he didn't look like he had any desire nor intention to move out of the way, even when you repeated to him he didn't have to lean against you anymore. "i know," he said with a sly smirk as your lips instinctively parted for him as he moved himself closer and closer to your lips. "why... you really know how to make the best out of a crappy situation." you said, to which he responded with a chuckle. "i always do when it comes to you, so of course, mi vida." he said as he wrapped his arms around you, evoking slight gasps to leave your lips as miguel locked his lips with your own.
you two had each other's tongues mingle with one another, exploring the depths of each other's mouths for quite a while–with no plan of letting go of each other, what with you clinging on to miguel by wrapping your arms around his neck, and his grasp on your waist tightening. he sang praises to you in between kisses, intensifying each and every one after he pulled away ever so often.
you two wanted that moment to last forever... but it ended as quickly as it began, when you two heard slipping from outside the control room's slightly ajar door. whispering came from the hallway adjacent to the room, and you two let go of each other immediately.
"holy–was that... was that seriously them? and–"
"i thought he had no emotions..."
"did we enter the wrong earth, or are we seriously seeing the two most horrifying spiders of the world make out right here right now after... oh i think i'm gonna puke."
"why were they–and you–why are we–don't they rip each other's throats out...?"
"what are you guys whispering about?"
"peter!"
you sighed silently as you grinned up at miguel. "i don't feel like telling stacy, morales, or parker off today, and besides... we need the day off, right?" you asked miguel as you rubbed at the back of waist, eliciting small groans of agreement from him. he chuckled lowly as he placed his hands on your hips and stared deeply into your eyes with a smile.
"definitely." he responded to you as he planted his lips gently against yours again, feeling the smoothness and softness that were your lips; the heavenly feeling of your lips upon his was one he wanted to feel all the time. he didn't particularly care if anyone saw you two, though it did embarrass him a little... he figured it's finally time to come out with what this little arrangement you two have got going on.

Apparently, in a leak, there's a made-up story about Wriothesley fighting a deep-sea beast but he says its fake.
Anyway, imagine him saving you from one or just fighting one to impress you.
I'm so sorry this took so long! Was in a writing rut for a while and then when I finally started writing, I lost my first draft of it. It was so good and I got so sad that I lost it😭... Anyways, now that we've seen his character and gotten to know him more in the main story and his character story, I can see him doing this lmao. He's likely to save you from one because he is protective of those he cares about. If you get impressed by him doing that it's a plus! Imagine him saving you from one and he casually walks over to you, holding his hand out to help you on your feet. He has a smirk on his face as he asks you, "impressed?" You could respond in two ways.
Either you blush and shyly thank him. He notices the hand he's holding is shaking a bit. He understands that you were scared and you're probably having trouble calming down. With a gentle look on his face, he gives your hand a comforting squeeze. "It's okay. You're safe now." You know he's trying to comfort you and you appreciate him trying to do that, but it just causes you to break down in tears. He hates seeing you cry. He immediately pulls you into a tight hug, letting you cry into his chest as he rubs your back. He lets you take your time letting your emotions out, giving reassuring words every now and then. He blames himself for not protecting you and can't even imagine what would've happened if he didn't get there in time. He tries to calm his own thoughts and focus on you. Once you finally calm down, you slightly pull away so you can see his face. He cups your face, using his thumbs to wipe the tears off your cheeks. "Thank you Wrio." He leans his forehead against yours and gently smiles. "Let's go home. I'll make you some tea." You slightly chuckle. "Okay." He picks you up in his arms. You get embarrassed and tell him he doesn't have to carry you but of course he says he doesnt mind. You smile, wrap your arms around his neck and kiss his cheek. "My hero." He's the one who's blushing now.
The other way you can respond is by messing with him and saying not really. Although you deny it, he notices the blush on your cheeks. He knows what you're doing and plays along. "Are you sure because I saw how awestrucked you were while I was fighting the monster." You blush more. "Fine, I suppose I was a little bit impressed." He smirks some more. "Thank you for saving me Wrio." "If you really want to thank me, how about a kiss on the cheek to show your appreciation?" You want to wipe that smirk off his face. "How about I get you some high quality tea instead?" You suggest. "Eh, that's no fun. How about you join me for a tea date?" "Hm? Is THE Duke asking me out?" You tease. "It's either the tea date or a kiss on the cheek. Your choice." You contemplate for a few seconds and ultimately make a decision. You pull him by his tie towards your face and kiss him on the lips. It only lasts for a few seconds but it leaves him stunned. You smirk and start walking away. You notice that you don't hear footsteps following behind you, so you look back to see him still standing in place, trying to understand what just happened. You chuckle. "Come on. I thought you said you would take me on a tea date." You turn and continue walking. He finally gathers himself and chuckles. Well played, he thinks. He finally follows you and catches up. While walking back to the prison, he silently plans a way to surprise you with a kiss next time.

"Hello-oooly shit," was the complete idiocy that escaped you.
The man at your front door stared down at you.
He was tall and insensibly handsome, with a mop of scarlet and white hair and two mismatched eyes. He wore a dark turtleneck that stretched over a set of broad shoulders, belted neatly into a pair of jeans that clung tightly to his muscular thighs.
He had to be the most utterly perfect human being you had ever seen in person.
He was also absolutely, horrifyingly familiar.
Pro hero Shouto.
"You are not Fuyumi," he intoned, his voice low and soft, the way you'd heard it on a hundred TV broadcasts. Except it was also, inexplicably, slightly accusatory.
It took you an incredibly long moment to fish the name Fuyumi out of the recesses of your brain, and realize that you knew it.
Fuyumi was your neighbor a couple doors down—a white-haired, friendly girl who taught elementary school and baked what had to be the most unreasonably delicious welcome cookies this side of the Noto Peninsula.
And apparently, her family name was Todoroki.
"Neither are you," you said pointedly.
Pro hero Shouto blinked at you, long and slow like a cat. "I should hope not."
You stared up at him, absolutely mystified by this response. The hell did that mean? "Uh...good that we're on the same page then?" you ventured.
Shouto's brows creased ever-so-slightly, as if you were equally as mystifying to him. As though you were the one who had turned up at his apartment and accused him of not being someone.
Which—oh.
"You're looking for Fuyumi's apartment?" you guessed.
Shouto nodded, holding up a piece of scrap paper with your building's address noted in an utterly atrocious hand. You were immediately clear on how the mix up had happened.
"Oh! That's supposed to be a seven, I think," you said, touching the final digit of the unit number. "I'm three oh one, she's three oh seven. Did someone with a broken hand write this?"
You'd meant it as a joke, but Shouto floored you by nodding. "She called before medical check in," he said.
You could have slapped yourself. "Oh my god, I—you literally had a broken hand."
After he'd rescued someone, probably, too, and here you were being a dick about it!
"I'm so sorry, I'm such a weenie," you said. "Yeah, she's a few doors down that way, you should find her in a second. I—uh—it was cool to, um. Meet you. In person. She's—tell Fuyumi I said hi."
Shouto nodded seriously, pocketing the piece of paper. "Shall I tell her you say 'Hello-oooly shit'?" he asked.
You spluttered wildly, an embarrassed heat licking up your veins so fast you thought you might be spontaneously combusting.
"You—that's—! In my own home!" was all that you managed.
A tiny half-smile pulled at Shouto's mouth. He watched you for a long minute, those famous heterochromatic eyes flickering over your face.
"Thank you for your help," he said finally, his voice going light and gentle. "I hope we will see each other again."
And then he stepped away from your door, and you had the good sense to gasp out a, "Yes! Goodbye!" and slam it shut behind him, your heartbeat racing.
A low, soft chuckle echoed in the hall.
And you wondered how soon, exactly, you might see Shouto Todoroki again.

Sex is quite the bonding moment (or so I have heard) and a great deal of fics and snippets have to deal with something of that nature. Which is completely normal and fine mind you, but as someone on the demi/ace spectrum it can be a little more difficult to place myself in these scenarios as I personally am waiting for a little bit longer than most to engage in that moment.
So I was curious of your input. However, no worries if you're not feeling up to it of course darling, just wanted to pick that brain of yours if you're feeling up to par.

thank you so much for asking this. as someone who is on the aroace spectrum (surprise!!), i do understand your struggle, believe it or not *shoves all the horny posting i've been doing lately under the rug*
so below are some headcanons for how the rise turtles would handle having a partner who wants to wait to have sex, how they would manage their mating season, and a bonus! one way they would bond with you instead
General: Mad respect. It doesn’t matter how they personally feel about it, they will respect your wishes in this department and do their best to treat you properly. How they do that differs with each turtle though.
Raph:
He’s going to be a little confused at first. Once you explain that it’s not him and there’s no disease or injury involved, though, he is 100% on board. He does get a little anxious about being supportive in the right way. You’ll catch him looking at you nervously when anyone so much as mentions sex-adjacent topics while you’re in the room, trying to gauge your reaction and what he should do.
Raph is… well, a very physical turtle. It’s going to be a bit of a struggle for him to not take things further when he’s ready. But he is also very determined when it comes to you and respecting your wishes. You will have to get used to him leaving a situation every once in a while when he feels the urge. He’s always apologetic about it. Totally the kind of turtle to ask your permission before masturbating to thoughts of you, despite how it makes him blush and stutter to do so.
When Raph is in his mating season, he disappears. He won’t tell you where he goes, and he won’t let anyone else tell you either. He does not want you to find him, he is uncertain he would be able to handle the temptation. Once his season is over, however, be prepared for cuddle central. He still wants that closeness, so you spend a lot of time in his arms.
One of Raph’s favorite things to do with you is read. No, really. The two of you discovered that it is easier for him to focus on the story when you read to him. He loves to listen to your voice. You’ll snuggle together with his bears in his bed and read all kinds of books together. Now that he has you to read to him, he’s finished so many books.
Leo:
He’s going to have a lot of questions. He’s going to have emotions about it too. Hopefully you will talk about it before you have to reject his advances, because that is definitely the worst case scenario. You will have to make sure that he doesn’t feel insecure or rejected. It’s going to be a long conversation. However, once he understands and is secure in his place in your life, he has your back. He’s so smooth about removing you from potentially uncomfortable situations that you barely even notice he’s doing it.
His love language is physical touch, so he always seems to have a hand on you. However, never once does he ever touch you in a way that is suggestive or makes you uncomfortable. When you cuddle together he is a perfect gentleman. If things ever head in a way that might turn hot and heavy, he’ll stop. You may need to give him a moment, but he’ll be okay. Will masturbate to thoughts of you without asking and then feel guilty about it. May or may not admit it to you.
When Leo’s in his mating season, he asks you to please stay away from the lair for the duration. However, he cannot go without you completely. He is constantly texting and calling you. He will hang up on you suddenly sometimes, if you do or say something that turns him on. He’ll apologize when he gets back in touch with you again. Once his season is over, he immediately finds you. He’ll be almost constantly in your presence for a few days, he missed you a lot.
Leo really likes to train with you. It started as a way to teach you self defense, because he worries about you. As time went on he realized that he really enjoyed the time spent together doing something physical but not sexual. It serves as a way to touch you and get his physical needs under control without pushing your boundaries. Plus, he gets to show off a bit, that’s always a bonus.
Donnie:
Nothing appears to really change after you discuss the next steps of your relationship with Donnie. He was very accepting and supportive when you spoke about it. This is just another facet of the person he loves. He doesn’t feel the need to ‘defend’ you from uncomfortable situations, he knows you can take care of yourself.
Donnie does get a little weird about touching you for a while. Doesn’t want to overstep on accident. You’ll probably have to have another talk with him about that, a little more in depth on where the boundaries actually are. He’ll probably start checking in periodically, to see if the boundaries have changed any. Won’t masturbate to you at all, he’s going to wait with you.
He is okay with having you around during his season. He’d rather see you than not. However, he will leave if something happens to arouse him. He’s always going to warn you when he’s getting uncomfortable, so you know to not come over. His lab is completely off limits. Seeing you there among all his creations is particularly pleasing for him.
Dancing. What else? Donnie loves to dance with you, anything from silly jumping around to dance battles to salsa. One way you have of pulling him out of his lab (that almost always works) is to ask to learn a new dance together. Nothing gets him to laugh more than when the two of you are learning a new dance. However, his favorite way to dance with you is a waltz.
Mikey:
Mikey is going to be a little put out at first. He was really looking forward to exploring new horizons with you, and he’s not the most patient of turtles. But anything that is important to you is important to him, so he’ll get over it quite quickly. There’s a lot of other things the two of you can do together after all! Mikey will take some time to observe you and see how you react to potentially sexual undertones to figure out if you need his help or not. He’s very good at changing the subject or pulling you away because he has to show you something right now!
Talking with him doesn’t change the way he touches you at all. He still slings his arms around you at every opportunity and snuggles close on the couch. He does get hypervigilant about how others touch you though. If there’s even a hint of inappropriateness he is immediately pulling you away. He gets a reputation as a jealous boyfriend, but it’s not his fault all these strangers keep putting their paws on you! He doesn’t care what others think of him as long as you are comfortable. He’s absolutely shameless about asking if he can masturbate to thoughts of you.
Mikey avoids you for the most part when it’s his season. He gets whiny and needy and he really doesn’t want to push you. He asks his brothers to intervene on your behalf if he does start getting pushy. It’s the only time he hesitates before touching you, gauging his own response to you so that he doesn’t accidentally do something to make you uncomfortable. You’ll often put your phone on speaker and listen to him chatter while you go about your day.
One of Mikey’s favorite things to do with you is meditate. He struggles with the practice, and only makes it through because he knows how important it is for controlling his powers. But when you’re there with him it’s so much easier. The two of you will sit back to shell and lean into each other. Matching breath with you really helps him, and he likes that doing this together makes him feel closer to you. Sometimes he’ll hold your hand while you meditate together.

Angsty Gen and Seph dream I had that I figured I’d share below:
This was probably inspired by a fic I have been reading where Sephiroth was warned by Hojo that if he didn’t succeed in Nibelheim and actually kill Genesis, he would be considered no longer useful as Shinra’s weapon, but only for Hojo’s research as a lab rat like he was as a child. A very BAD outcome lol.
In the dream, canon diverged and Sephiroth actually was pulled away from the library mid-breakdown by Zack and they planned to escape, but Shinra was evil as usual and bombed Nibelheim like they did Banora. Zack was seriously injured and barely crawled away with his life, but Sephiroth got taken back in by Shinra, also barely aware of what was happening thanks to the impact of Shinra’s ambush.
I don’t even want to say what went down with Hojo afterwards but it was…bad. Hojo being the sick dad of the year he is, just got everything he always wanted. Sephiroth failed the mission so yeah…
But good news, Genesis found Zack! In the dream it was so sweet and pleasant to see, but Genesis actually came to his senses and realized that Sephiroth had rejected him in the reactor because he thought Gen was trying to use him for his cells. Gen had this big epiphany and was thinking “Oh shit I fucked up. Seph thought I was pulling a Shinra and trying to use him.”
Gen realized that what needed to happen was that they all escaped Shinra and Gen could find a cure for his degrading that way. He also was saying something about Zack being Angeal’s worthy successor iirc? Anyway. My favorite thing was seeing Gen redeem himself and save Zack, then decide to be a real hero by saving his friends and standing against Shinra.
So he rescued Zack and they decided they needed to go get Sephiroth. It was a longgg process in the dream because Genesis was still dying actually. But holy shit the angst was brutal because Gen did NOT fucking care. His degradation meant nothing. He had to get Seph out of Shinra and burn the whole place to the ground if it killed him.
Alto it was sooooo sad though. The end part destroyed me😭
Basically Gen finally broke into Shinra, fucking wiped the floor with Hojo, and saved Sephiroth’s life, who was barely functional by that point but ALIVE at least, and Gen was able to tell him he was sorry for everything and that he only ever wanted them to be equals, friends, even if they were both monsters. Once Sephiroth understood what Genesis had done and realized that they were still real friends, he forgave him and it was all made well but…well…you can probably guess….
Genesis didn’t survive. Zack and Seph made it, but Genesis had put all his energy into getting through to Seph. For him it was worth it because of the reconciliation and knowing that when Sephiroth was back to normal, he would avenge them and destroy Shinra. Gen died a hero. Aaaaaa!
It hurt so much but I loved this au that just randomly invaded my dream?? I’m only wondering now if Cloud survived the Nibelheim bombing 😐
If I had skills I would write this into a fic but since I don’t, I just wanted to share on the Sephcanons blog as an au headcanon!

I seriously can’t believe the phrases “Always in Pittsburgh, only with Sid” and “When I saw you in Latvia for the first time I knew how lucky I was” are not from fan fiction. That shit really happened. Not even at my cringiest teenage girl writer stage could I have made fic Sid say “It’s me AND Geno” because it’s so hacky. But it’s real.
I think maybe they think that it’s totally normal to be like that about your friend and everyone around them is like wtf?
Sid’s like “yeah doesn’t everyone think ‘wow I’m so lucky’ the first time they are their new coworker?’

I'm thinking of writing a female Yan. I'm not sure what I want her to be yet. I was considering either a witch or a fairy. (both pretty cliche ik lol). The details are currently in the works but I have a general idea of where I want the story to go.

I'm a little worried since my finals are coming up. I was going to post my 1000 followers special event after finals! So probably around the later half of may.
Also I'm probably going to have to do a 2 week haitus after I post Yandere Space Adventure pt 2 this week to prepare for finals :(

3rd QUESTION:
so the reason i started writing is a bit silly lol
During the 2020 lockdown/quarantine, I got into genshin impact hardcore. I had multiple character skins (uhh dropped 50 dollars for the Diluc one too), spent actual dollars for character banners and was AR60. Surprisingly, did my dailies everyday and was in multiple genshin impact discord servers and purchased so many genshin impact cosplays.
Genshin Impact was genuinely my life for two years. However, the enjoyment of it has gone downhill for me. I struggled to find a hobby or something to fill the void. Life for real felt empty without purpose after I stopped playing. For a while, tiktok took over but it didn't feel as fufilling.
Then I remembered in early high school how I would read and write yandere stories. (Exclusively on quotev lmao). I figured it'd be fun try Tumblr since it was a fandom staple. I never had it because I was always way too confused on how it worked. So this is my first Tumblr account!
I would just use my blog to read some stories. Before bed, I'd have a million ideas for yandere stories. I never thought I'd write anything since these were just cute stories in my head. It wasn't until a month later that I decided to start writing somethings.

You couldn't believe your eyes. Here, the man who had raised you, the number one hero, your dearest old man was currently slicing open your mother as if she was nothing more than a goddamn potato or something!
It was sickening, truly.

Lmao, the way that I think every single one is just a low-key unfiltered 'oh, they're pretty, we should keep them For Reasons' bc this would be girlie's first day without any anxiety in her literal life and so she'd just be a bull in a literal china shop. But specific ones:
Upon recruiting Gale: umm... he does realise we already have a wizard, yes? I'm literally stood... right here.
Upon recruiting Karlach: Yes. Good. Yes. Wonderful. You're very tall.
Upon recruiting Wyll: Wyll is just so nice! He held my hand when I needed help jumping over a puddle. *sigh* He truly is like a hero from a storybook.
Upon recruiting Astarion: So um... if we're taking bets. What do we think that hair is compensating for, exactly?
5. Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
I actually thought about this. I feel like, although she's good-aligned, Rosalie would stay with the party regardless of the alignment of the playthrough. In an evil-aligned game, she would gradually be persuaded to choose logic and rationality over emotion, and this would result in her volunteering to become the mindflayer in the final confrontation with Orpheus (if you're not siding with the Emperor). That being said, I think if the PC was directly responsible for killing a companion at any point, e.g. Minthara, or Gale, or whoever Orin kidnaps, that would trigger a dialogue with a high persuasion DC to get her to stay bc she's got so sad that 'the power of friendship' wasn't enough. So if either the Persuasion DC for logic over emotion, or for that dialogue were failed, then she would leave!

I love your Dream x Hob posts so much, there is not a whole lot of them around here :(
I wanted to ask you, since I’ve been curious and no one around me really ships those two (cry) can we agree, in between us and whoever wishes to confirm, that the ear touch Hob makes after they’re done fighting against Lady Johanna and her dummies is the equivalent to hair twirling? As in is the equivalent to flirting? Besides just asking him to find another bar right after that (or before, can’t remember correctly)… My point is, my boy Hob was totally head over heels by this time, and I will not accept no for an answer, but! I wanted to know if like, it’s just me seeing things, this ship has me bad lmao.

I love reading and reblogging posts about them, and I want to make more gifsets, but theres not enough of Hob in the series so far 😭 I hope he will be there more in s2, bc with the way they're setting it up, it seems like he will be even bigger part of Dream's life from now on.
When Tom described how the show isn't really about Dream being a hero or main character of the story, but it being more about stories of the people and their dreams, it seems really important how they brought Hob and Dream's backstory as something very personal for Dream- specifically Dream learning how to keep this one important friendship,(and we can hope maybe something more, if they will have the foundation of trust and friendship first)!
And you're absolutely right about that ear touch during the 1789 part. I think Hob could have slowly realize how special this relationship was, because even through his lowest points before, Dream was still interested in him, in learning more, in seeing him. Hob was probably already in love! At least that's what I'm gonna believe!!
And I feel this part was also Hob putting together the pieces, what this all means to Dream, and trying for Dream to stay longer.
But it was Dream who didn't stay, and in the next meeting, 1889, Hob had it figured out already - Dream wanted (needed) their friendship, he was lonely, and he did slowly changed. But Dream wasn't ready to hear it and wasn't ready to accept Hob's full love and what it would mean for them both.
And yet Hob kept believing Dream would return, so he kept the tavern and possibly built The New Inn just beside it, waiting for his return.
And it's sad we didn't get to hear anything from their present day reunion 😔 but even Hob's words of 'You're late.' speak so much - his full trust in knowing Dream would return and so he was waiting for him; and Dream having had a LOT of time to think about his relationship with Hob and decided to apologize and acknowledge that, yes, they're friends.
I just can't wait to see what happens between them next, and I definitely believe in 'Hob fell first but Dream fell harder' !!

Hi Hi hi ANOTHER ANON HERE (I just wanna be private) I just wanted to say I love your work and your writing rocks!
I was wondering, despite the obvious voice lines and what we kinda get from Galactic Emperor Sigma's depiction (for the crumb it was - thanks Blizzard) how do you go about characterizing him? I kinda like how you aren't afraid to make him into a bit of an asshole (lol) do you have a headcanon you go off?
There are quite a few of you guys! And it's all cool - as long as you're all comfortable! Never wanna force anyone x
This is an interesting one as it relates to my personal views on Sigma as a whole, which I could go on for HOURS ABOUT. Mainly because the trailer makes him come across as this maniacal hubris-based scientist who is incredibly intimidating and self-interested in his own research. Then you have the in-game characterisation which is this rather tragic figure being manipulated by an organisation that uses him as a weapon.
There is this beautiful dichotomy in his character (which is why he's so beloved, as he has this depth on a self-referential level). I do not doubt that he is equally as gentle and a tragic anti-hero as he is an egotistical and (at times) a vicious-mad-scientist force to be reckoned with. That's due to the in-game Canon!Sig voice lines range from quite endearing to being quite callous (to me at least). And I could go on and on about my personal feelings about the mental health allegories that can also be gleaned from him (I'm someone who has pretty bad anxiety and PTSD, so the drifting in and out of thoughts is something that got to me).
So for Emp!Sig, I wanted to magnify those aspects and dial them up to be more ruthless and more arrogant. And I loved that we got this antagonistic-bad-guy version who will call you a "pathetic worm" if you get in his way. But then I like the thought of him being multifaceted here too (I have this saying that I talk to my friends that I think of 'salty and sweet' when I write him). And I like giving him these little anxiety-fuelled moments where he's painfully vulnerable.
I have a lot to thank @akoiromanticstudent for (I tag her a lot as it's her help that's made her indulge this hard, and I love how she writes sig in his professor ways).
I have a literal page-by-page list in my notebook (because I'm crazy and do this for fun HAHA) of who I've taken some inspiration from for his characteristics so here we go I shall list a few (and this isn't even all of it so - lmao YOU ASKED)
Game of Thrones' Tywin Lannister is a massive influence on me as well. His dialogue is excellently written, and he was my favourite character in the series for being this rather diabolical yet magnificent bastard. I love how Charles Dance plays him as this character hardened by the world around him and too far gone with using violence as a means to an end. He's undoubtedly cruel and has this stubbornness that is fun to emulate and spar with.
I also take some inspiration from Hades - the Hellenic god (being a bit more of a neutral yet incredibly threatening force within ancient Greek polytheism). And his representation from the HADES game series and the Disney-fied version (for the back and fourth in his dialogue and dynamic).
I also really loved Peter Stormare's representation of Lucifer from the 05' Constantine film - I love how terrifying and threatening he is with his presence and invading personal spaces. Stormare plays him as this ancient, wise, sinister force, and I just adore it. Despite the film being of typical noughties-popcorn-movieness (but I love it for that too). So I've taken little pieces of that there as well.
Obviously, Star Wars plays as an influence (Darth Vader/Anakin being the tragic villain he is and Palpatine because I just love that silly evil old man.)
There's obviously a few Lovecraftian cosmic horror elements in there as well.
Also adding loads of representations of various Gods, Kings, and Emperors in history, Leonidas being one of them, Ceaser, Odin, Ra the list goes on and on all of which are in the mixing pot.

Hopefully next week 😭 ... want to chill with my husband for my birthday in a few days and then I can pay attention here and do some much needed cleaning (threads/asks/followers/what have u) and hopefully that will keep me on track! I hope you are having a super duper awesome day too! And that you're eating something yummy!!
And, hmmm. Good question! I kind of take inspiration from characters I'm currently vibing with, or shows/things I like. When I make OCs I just think of a like. Vague concept or personality trait I'd like to explore and then I just go off from there and add things to complement it.
Examples I can think about: Adonia was made was I was very into CRK and Pure Vanilla was a guy I was obsessing over! So I made somebody who would fit my current likes and what I was into at the time. And he just turned into his own person, completely different but still having some hints of my original inspiration. Aeron takes inspiration from Karna (FGO) and Siegfried (GBF), but he isn't quite exactly like that? But the fierce knight who is a bit awkward at talking to people normally / charitable hero traits are things you can see in him. Luc takes inspiration from Phantom (Arknights) and. well. POTO. And the funny thing is that Arknights just stole back from my guy so I find that horribly funny. But my method is just 'what are interesting themes I want to explore' and it just goes off from that. Or even a song sometimes, one of my oldest OCs I just kind of took a lot of inspiration from a song from my favorite band. This is more of my character creation process than my inspiration, but I feel like they go hand in hand.
For actual book authors I get inspiration from, I feel like once you read something you start to assimilate some parts of their writing/how they do stuff. That goes for your RP partners, too. So for book authors I cannot really give you a list of things that inspire me, since your brain likes to absorb these mannerisms like a sponge! And in the end you're left with an amalgamation of things you like that... makes you a better person and writing more comfortably at the end of the day.
But I'd like to reserve this space to give a shoutout to some writers in the RP community that amaze me and inspire me to do better, and 500% of my will to write is really like. 'This starter/reply/ask was amazing and I want to give it the attention and love it deserves'.
Which means I probably read their replies over and over, even if it is not directly addressed at me. Thank you for inspiring me to be better, and for sharing your writing (which can be such an incredibly personal thing, sometimes) with the world! It ain't easy and it ain't much!! But it's honest work!!

"eren isn't an average person" anon here.
i had to vent, because, after the ending, i've been seeing many weird takes about the point of snk being to show what war can do to an ordinary person, or that everyone would do the same in eren's shoes. when people aren't saying that eren was just a cornered good guy or giving excuses that there was no other way other than the rumbling.
even if i can understand where isayama was going with the ending, i feel he kinda fumbled? i really think the way he wrote it gave the fandom what they wanted the most: many ways to justify what eren did and water down/erase the bad image of eren that the rumbling left on them. i got impressed how showing eren in a slightly more sympathetic light in chapter 139 made many people yell "i knew it. i knew he wasn't the bad guy" at the top of their lungs, others even considering he was redeemed and calling him a hero, since his actions ended up saving his close friends (despite they got in real danger and almost died most part of the last arcs).
the chapter technically doesn't redeem him, but the way it was delivered made many people see eren as "just a boy" again, and that the "bad eren" was completely a facade, because they'd desperately trying to disassociate what they think the real eren is from the things he was doing post-timeskip at every opportunity. people couldn't handle that eren is everything together.
many stuff contributed with that: not showing the consequences of the rumbling properly (post-rumbling); the rumbling not affecting the 104; all the main characters alive crying eren's death and implied to visit his grave; "thanks for becoming a mass murder for our sake" - even if armin was only trying to comfort eren before his death; excessively cute eremin and eremika without a drop of real resentment scenes; ending the original 139 with mikasa thanking eren for wrapping the scarf around her (inviting the readers to remember the good things he did), and associating him symbol with a bird, a symbol of freedom; etc.
anyway, here i am venting again lmao
ps: i swear i'm not an anr enjoyer/er*hisu. i'm just an average ending hater who felt isayama got so close yet so far to deliver something memorable.

Where I differ is that I don't mind the idea of the ending. I think it does exactly what Isayama set out to do. Concept wise it's not a fumble. If you read the August 2017 BSM interview, that's pretty clear:
I don’t think the series passes judgment on what is “right” or “wrong.” For example, when I read Furuya Minoru’s “Himeanole,” I knew society would consider the serial killer in the story unforgivable under social norms. But when I took into account his life and background I still wondered, “If this was his nature, then who is to blame…?”
But considering the root of the issue, rather than evaluating “what is right” […] I think that’s what Shingeki no Kyojin’s ending will resemble.
Isayama was never interested in establishing right or the wrong. His goal was to write a sympathetic character who was twisted both by nurture and nature to do unthinkable repugnant things. Rather than dictate morality, Isayama's goal was to let reader determine how they felt about it. This is exactly what we've seen in the fandom with people on all sides when it comes to judgment on Eren.
But I do agree that the ending was harmed by the issues that have plagued the series as a whole - terrible pacing, inconsistent tone, and too much emphasis on the mystery instead of the resolution. This series is a case study for "interesting ideas clumsily executed". It all culminated in a speeding train wreck of an ending.
As I write those words, I want to say again, I like the concept of the ending. While the whole "Thanks for becoming a mass murderer" vibe makes my skin crawl, I don't mind the actual events that happened. If the story and the ending had been presented to me as a bulleted list, I'd think it was outstanding.
As far as the ending being embraced by the worst of humanity as a justification for their hatred and bigotry, I don't know what to say about that. On one hand I've often wished Isayama had done more to discourage that or had spoken out against it, but then I think about how it is often the goal of authors to pick at the scabs of social issues and leave them festering and open. This series might have been a gateway for some into fascism, but flip that around and it was also a gateway for exposing it. The series has made me more aware of the issues in my own country and has strengthened my resolve to fight back on things I might have otherwise ignored.
