Happy WBW! Are there any gender roles in your world? What are they like and what are their origins?

This is an easy answer for Rituals and Red Tape, not really. I can break it down into a more informative and interesting answer lol.

The Board are so far beyond the concept of gender or sex or anything of the like, however, for the ease of interaction with their employees they have adopted the use of pronouns and stuff. They still don't fully grasp this concept but if it makes the employees happy and more productive they will comply. So when you see someone like Dave being referred to as a he or Hivemaster as a she, it is based on a mutual understanding.

Dreamers are in a similar boat. These are beings of pure cognition and consciousness; as stated in previous things the body is a vehicle of interaction and expression. Perfectly mutable, perfectly impermanent. So it's kind of hard to have gender roles in a place with no concept of gender as we would have here. What you more have is departmental roles (those in manager positions can be those who have worked their way up the ranks but it is more a position that is bestowed upon someone when they come into existence) and roles based around what a Dreamer has their body like (if that make sense).

Denizens are about the only things I would say are close to having gender roles. But similar to The Board, they are beyond our scope of understanding. There is something there that seems like an order or regulation but it's importance is not worth trying to understand.

Hope that was more interesting than a short little, Lol nah this place has no gender.

What would they do if stuck in a room with the person they’ve been avoiding?

Darkmoon Knight Adrian's philosophy in this situation would be "When in doubt, if you're avoiding someone and it's not a life or death situation, talk so much that they become annoyed and leave." Doesn't work all the time, but that flex is less obvious than "immediately go into one corner and try desperately to pretend that person doesn't exist." No, he'd rather be so obnoxious they wish he didn't exist, and thus leave the vicinity.

What’s the lie your character says most often?

It would seem to be a cop out to simple say "I'm fine," even though it's completely and utterly true that's an oft repeated lie because he is indeed Far From Okay, but it's true, and he even deluded himself into thinking he was happy for years (spoiler alert: he was miserable actually). Coming back from the dead as a Tarnished was just a catalyst for realizing not only how much he lied to himself, but how said lying was pointless in some aspects and could have easily been avoided in others.

You ever want to just bite someone ?

Good question anon. If you are willing, I definitely would be keen to hear who (or if) you would want to bite.

I have a relatively newfound (past 2ish years or so lets say) oral fixation that is pretty strong, and has not waned in intensity since. I do not feel like I am a biter though, but I would be lying if seeing some queens in costume does not initiate a response of wanting to nibble a bit. It is like an automatic inner held feral feeling of wanting to lick down legs and thighs. Maybe even bite down on them (very gently) to know what they feel like in my mouth.

I actually have a past ask relating to if the queen themselves are into biting, so please read over that as well for more handy corellated information.

The short answer to your question either way is yes anon. I do sometimes just want to bite someone. It is the so-called 'cute aggression' that is innately found in everyone, and I can totally understand how that drive can take over.

Somebody mentioned in a tag on one of my posts the scene where Marco Animorphs is showering after antmageddon and he finds an ant stuck to his hip by the pincers where it presumably was trying to bite him in half when he was an ant and then it died from him becoming very big very fast and I feel like that scene, and the scene where Cassie finds a sliver of a sentient person’s flesh between her teeth while she’s flossing and then flosses until her gums bleed, really deserve recognition in the literary canon. Applegate deserves an award. There should be a TV Trope named after whatever the fuck that is. Like fridge horror but diegetic. Bathroom horror. Your bedtime bathroom routine as an opportunity for personal confrontation with the violent detritus of the dead which lingers in and on your body even after you have ostensibly stripped yourself of weapons and healed over all your wounds.

green eyes widened at THUD. immediately, gaze unmasked settled upon other. had they already succumbed to whatever injuries may have resulted from drop? no, no. that was movement. kirkhammer - wielding executioner stepped, slowly && nigh silently, from prior place, each footfall carefully plotted.

“ oh . . . ” silence - breaking came quietly. worry, only PARTLY an act, twisted expression. “ that was one nasty fall. ” hand lifted, preparing to draw weapon if needed. whatever monstrosities watched over, let it NOT be needed. even executioners deserved a break. other hand extended, an offer of assistance. “ are you alright? " // alfred for bloodborne verse!

If the Good Doctor's now unneeded pince-nez hadn't been clipped to the top of their waistcoat, they would have surely gone flying and unceremoniously shattered on the cobblestone below when the Vileblood had lost their grip on the weathered masonry of the building as a result of a slimy, somewhat oily substance on an otherwise convenient outcropping. It still coated the fingertips of their right glove as they laid there for a moment on their stomach, unable to breath, pain blossoming throughout their entire body and their heart drumming loudly as tinnitus deafened them to everything else. Adrian tried to remain calm as their diaphragm stopped spasming enough to allow them to finally breathe again in a loud gasp. With a slight groan, the Vileblood pushed themself off the ground on all fours for a moment, then forced themself onto their knees.

They shook as they began to rise, their long and curly hair now completely undone from their updo, their normal hearing returning—

Adrian nearly launched themself backwards upon seeing the hand, still far too frazzled to take note of their surroundings, much less the person to whom it belonged it. They fell onto posterior with a gasp, and then looked up—

Like a deer, their brown eyes widened, and they froze perfectly still. The thought that they were still in their attire from their day job hadn't even occurred to Adrian, and yet they felt naked and seen through and suddenly incredibly small. It had sent the Vileblood enough that in their already panicked state, their mind would play through events like they were a child all over again, and that was before their terrified primordial reptile brain fully realized the garb in which he wore....

Thump thump thump.

Mouth dry, Adrian answered in their thick and resilient accent that managed to sound calm in contrast to their trembling limbs, "I've been through worse." They coughed, covering it by ducking their mouth into their right shoulder.

Not wanting to give more away about themself, the Doctor tentatively took the hand with their left, not wanting to get whatever greasy substance they got into onto the other person.
