Here's a snippet of "alternate meeting":

She was hurt. He could tell even before he noticed the tiny drops of blood on the hardwood. Partially because she should have caught him by now, should have rounded on him blade at the ready before smiling that smile that warmed his chest and telling him that she’d clocked him ages ago and saw right through the mask he was wearing. Instead, she was in the bathroom, washing her hands under too-hot water, breathing a little harder than she should. He made sure the first sound she noticed was his voice. “Princess.” She spun, and even injured, she was fast — her knife was pointed at him exactly where he stood in the dark bedroom, harsh white light bleeding in from the bathroom. Briefly, he saw her the way any other might: a desperate animal, claws out, backed into a corner. But she recognized his voice, and the muscles around her eyes softened. The predator, soothed, faded away.

I don't usually go in for pre-canon AUs, especially in ongoing works that aren't complete yet, because I feel like... I don't have all the toys in the toybox to play with yet? And I tend to want to stick to canon as much as I can, for whatever its worth. But I've seen a few other people tackle this idea and some of them inspired me. It's definitely a way to focus in on the relationship between these two without that pesky kid and dog getting in the way!

Beyond that, I think it's a really cool idea to bring focus to things Twilight wants outside of the domestic. In canon, it's obvious he wishes he could be Loid Forger (and to an extent Loid Forger isn't really a mask at all) but I also love the idea that he might not actually want a simple family life with a simple civilian woman, but just... someone who understands him. Understands why he does what he does, has similar thoughts or feelings or experiences or background. The thought that he might still have found that with Yor under very different circumstances tickles the irony part of my brain.

Also it let's them meet on equal footing and display competency to each other, and since that does a lot for me personally I have to imagine it works for them too.

ANYWAY now here's "indulgence"!

"Gods, this is nice," he murmured. Karlach sighed, her hands playing with his, squeezing, tracing his fingers. She felt the softness of his palms as much as the brass scales on the backs of his hands. Her tail encircled and stroked his shin, and her feet tapped against the tops of his, doing a little dance. She always had so much energy when they went to bed together, energy he usually had to thoroughly expel from her in very satisfying ways… but tonight, he could tell this was all she wanted. He was happy to give it to her. “It is, isn’t it?” she said, laughing softly and kissing his palm. “Creature comforts.” “Mmhmm.” He nuzzled the back of her neck, closing his eyes. If he closed his eyes, it felt (and smelled) a bit like embracing a campfire, though a fair bit more pleasant. “Necessities, more like.” “You really are a bit of a ponce, aren’t you,” she said with a chuckle. “I am not,” he replied, feigning offense as he tickled the bottom of her foot with his toe. He felt her jump a little and it warmed him almost as much as her engine did. “I simply prefer the indoors to the outdoors. What’s precisely wrong with that?” “Pretty boring, really.” She elbowed him gently in the stomach. “Life happens outdoors.” “And I’d rather ‘life’ didn’t protrude up into my shoulder blades when I’m trying to sleep. Or seep through my tent when it storms. Or get into my bedroll and lay eggs. Or—” “Alright, alright,” she laughed, turning her head and looking over her shoulder into his eyes. “Baby.”

...so you can tell where the title came from!

I didn't really have a direction or a structure for this when I started it (the real reason for the title) but as I got further, I started to think about a selection of bedtime moments between my Tav (Sevistur the dragonborn paladin) and Karlach. The first time they sleep next to each other, the first time they sleep with each other, the first time they share a roof, the first time they share a bath or a bed. A sort of timeline of expanding boundaries and deepening intimacy.

I think the general thrust of it would be Sev coming to grips with how much he cares for Karlach, and then how much he needs to solve Karlach's condition, with him very quietly deciding what he wants to do about it. The thing is, he knows she doesn't wanna argue about it, so it's gotta go pretty much unsaid for most of it, living mostly in his interiority up until we get to the end, which has to take place in either Avernus or the epilogue. I haven't quite gotten that far!

I definitely want to, though. Karlach is easily my favorite romanceable NPC in years, and in a game that also includes Shadowheart that is saying something. It always makes me feel a bit strange to write an OC romancing a canon character, but that's kind of the whole point of BG3, and I like them too much to let that weird hangup of mine stop me, so here we are!

editor is 1) a guy who's bad because he can get profit of it 2) a guy who is very used to get all information from the computer and know everything about everyone and understand and control everyone with it

where should I put him 1) to make him the most distracted and confused (because I want him suffer because he is bad guy :)) 2) to see how he would act in circumstances where he don't have profit from being bad and can't use information technologies to control anything (because I want to see him in different circumstances because he is my little meow meow :))

What does your first draft look like? What kind of revisions do you do for a second, third etc? Do you drafts change a lot or a little between each?

You know it's funny, I was just talking to me sister (they/them) about this.

I have a really bad habit that I theorized started back in high school. When I was ordered to write an essay on whatever topic they tried to hammer it into my head to write a rough draft; I thought the concept was dumb since I'd have to go back and re-write the whole thing. SO I just edited ideas in my own head and only wrote things down once I liked what they said (or just spammed out the words and refused to edit them).

I've noticed that concept has carried over into my modern writing and it has caused problems. I don't actually start writing something till I already know what it looks like; which is a problem because I've run into many walls of "I don't know where to begin with this idea". So I'm in a needless loop of "don't write till it's fully formed" and "just write bullshit so you can fully form an idea". As such most of the "rough drafts" of my shorts just turn into the full 'release' with a few edits.

I'm trying to teach myself how to let myself write 'badly' lol

If we talking abt HC regarding Nightmare it's not that much:

Nightmare used to be a human back in a very old day. He probably remembers Earth before it became a Shiver Star. He remembers only some vague details, to be more precise

The way he became a great Nightmare Wizard™ in the first place is by making a wish upon Nova. Over the course of decades chunks of his memories and personality got erased by an inability of human brain to process the eldrich abilities correctly. The Monkey Paw hit him hard

Doesn't remember his own name in a both metaphorical and very literal way. Not that he misses or needs it, which makes the situation even more ironic

"Careful, Marx, that's might be your future" isn't even a joke at this point, bcuz Evil Clown is on highway there. As both of them were granted unspeakable abilities with a pretty similar wishes - parallels are there. The difference between Nightmare and Marx being the fact that Marx doesn't really wants to be next Evil Wizard™. Not because he regrets his actions, but because he wants to keep enjoying the life he is living - you start to appreciate simple things like tasty meals much more when you are about to loose them. Don't get me wrong tho: Marx is full of ambition like never before.

Despite this seemingly sad past with "forgetting his own name" Nightmare always was a bastard in terms of personality. Living on dying cold rock does that to ya sometimes. Most of those traits are still there, just too exaggerated. The Nightmare Wizard in general is pretty much a caricature of himself 

And yet he is very knowledgeable man

Did I mention that he wanted his own champion, based on Galacta Knight? But there was a pretty grave miscalculation on Nightmare's part (Several, actually, his simple inability to raise said champion with a loyalty due to not taking the emotional attachments into account is one of them) - it's not like he has any access to remnant of a Void. But he had plenty of a Dark Matter around. What I'm saying is that MK by some percentage is a Dark Matter or DM related 

Nightmare and Yin Yarn are actually know each other by some Wizard Network and get into petty arguments over smallest unimportant things

And regarding MetaSusie I have only this HC on the top of my tongue:

MK sometimes struggles with reoccurring nightmares so Susie tends to sing to him while he's asleep. It actually helps for some unknown reason. The Knight had no idea at first, but turns out he didn't hate her voice as much as he though

Susie herself doesn't really enjoys singing anymore - it brings her back at the HWC performance with a dad who doesn't recognise her. And yet singing to a shivering borb eases the pain

2. I burned almost all my artwork when I was 13, so I have have only few things I created before that age.

3. I have problems with pigment in my body. so, I was born with almost black eyes, but they changed to brown and then some greenish spots appeared which actually turned out a lil blue after some time. i think I might reach blue eyes at some point of life.

Alright, I've read xxxholic long ago so I might miss out some things but I believe answer to that isn't so black/white. In actuality only person themselves can put labels on what they're feeling; or be at six's and seven's about what nature of their feelings are.

Now of course - Watanuki is a fictional character. He cannot answer those things himself. But I'm somehow lead to believe he's not sure either.

In beginning I think Watanuki's feelings for Doumeki were mostly platonic; or if not, then he simply wasn't aware of them as Watanuki lacked normalicy in his life had no outer reference as to how romantic love looks like; let alone how he'd experience it. So it won't be too far fetched to me if Watanuki wasn't able to pinpoint what he feels for Doumeki.

Something started shifting from whole eye accident thing. Culimantion was reached when Watanuki decided to take over the shop. From that moment on most of their interactions had subtle tension attached to it. Some readers joke it's sexual tension and whilst that could partly be the case, I believe it's more emotional one. Doumeki wants something for Watanuki that Watanuki doesn't want for himself: to be free.

Is Watanuki aware of said tension? Yes. Is he aware of Doumeki's devotion? He probably wasn't aware of what it meant in beginning but somewhere along the way I guess Watanuki were to realize Doumeki's feelings weren't solely platonic. Now, keep in mind Watanuki's lack of self-worth and overall whole self-destructive personality. I wonder if Watanuki would try repressing his feelings by thinking nothing good would come put of them being romantically involved? I'm sure Watanuki sees Doumeki as 'different from the rest', but is he able to pinpoint what that 'different' means?

In summary: from objective perspective I don't think Watanuki views Doumeki in solely platonic light. From Watanuki's perspective, I'm not sure if he understands what he actually feels deep down. And in case he does, whether he sees those feelings as ego-dysonic or not

Tav questions 2, 9, 10, if you please?

2.) What relationship did your Tav have with their family/guardian(s) growing up? Has that changed with age?

Oh, he was extremely rebellious. His parents were relatively rich and well-off, mingling with higher society types. Pretty far from like, Wyll's circle, but far removed from the average person, right? And they were social climbers, concerned with things like "propriety" and "etiquette" and "politics" and by god he just hated it. Hated the dishonesty of it, the way it made him feel penned in and restricted, and so he took every opportunity to push back against it.

I think sending him away to seminary school was a last-ditch effort, I truly don't think they wanted him gone, but they sure didn't want him as he was. And... I really don't think he ever went back! I think he sends them letters, because it feels right to do that, but I don't think he stays in one place long enough to get many replies, and I don't think he misses them as much as they miss him.

That'll probably come back to bite him! If one of them gets sick or something happens, he's gonna go back and feel awful about it the whole way. And there'll probably be some kind of reconciliation, as much as that relationship even needs reconciling. But for now? That's where he's at.

9.) What was your Tav doing when they were taken by the mind flayers?

Okay, so that happened in or around Baldur's Gate proper, right? Canonically that's where we got taken. So... hm. I imagine he was probably finishing his first major sojourn out of the seminary, having gone up and down the mountains or the Chionthar or the Sword Coast or what have you, done some good, slayed some beasties. He was probably in the middle of considering going back home to see his folks, or just picking up some supplies and getting back on the road. One or the other. And before he could decide, bam, teleported by mind flayers!

...I'm basically realizing now that because the whole game is about getting to Baldur's Gate, that of course he has to reckon with this family stuff sometime during act three. Maybe he keeps putting it off because the world is about to end and only deals with it after the game is over? Or else Karlach convinces him otherwise, because she's like "live like you're dyin', rocky mountain climbin'" and so on.

I'll be real, I hadn't fully considered the answers to a lot of these before people asked? I'm discovering a lot about this character through these asks!

10.) What would your Tav consider to be their greatest skill? Is this accurate?

Oh, that's a good question... judgement of character, I think! He's a friendly guy, personable, approachable for a dragonborn, y'know? But he gets a read on people pretty quick and decides if he wants to invest a lot of himself into them. Hence why he collects the party of weirdos he does -- he could tell even when he met Astarion he wasn't ALL bad! And it's also why Minthara didn't survive -- he got nothing but bad vibes from her. If dealing with Astarion's horseshit and wrangling him into something approaching a good person took as long as it did, he could clock immediately that dealing with Minthara would be a Sispyhean task. (If Sisyphus existed.)

I don't often have big inspiration for my writing in a thunderstruck sense. But I do love a good thunderstorm and where I live we have monsoon season, which is known for Big Storms if it's a really good year, so that was definitely on my mind as I was writing. LOANSHARK DUO: also perfection I genuinely almost love them more the tnt duo. The idea of an 1000 year old god being stuck working for a tiny mortal man with an attitude issue has a such great comic potential. But it’s also so so angsty. It’s Quackity traumatizing Foolish to “help him” a fucked up selfish move that comes from his own trauma with death. It’s Foolish grinding for hours to get Quackity armor and Quackity’s genuine shock and gratefulness. It’s Foolish cannoncaily liking to hang out with Quackity even as he plans to turn against him. Its Quackity thinking Foolish wanted to fuck him. It’s Quackity setting off the fireworks knowing Foolish well enough to know he would be annoyed and trusting Foolish to help him. It’s Foolish helping him without thinking twice. It’s them. They break my heart, they’re so complicated and fucked up.
