I have some extra thoughts if anyone cares if I ramble

I did write quite a bit on wattpad back in the day. My account is still up and kicking but my username there isn't the same anywhere else LOL so you might be able to find it ? I had a moderately successful fairy tail one-shot series and an unfinished doctor who self insert fic (i wrote these when I was 14 i want everyone to remember that lil fact.

I currently beta read for @noaafishfieldguide so I get alllll the juicy sea foam drama >:) (its literally so fun i love doing it T-T. I don't have any beta readers except that squid does get to read 'in the meadow' early to help me make sure it actually is good LOLOL

Every fic i write is self indulgent, isn't that like.... the point of a fanfiction ???

So I am a multifandom writer, but as of late I've been stuck in trigun (the Fandom that got me to start writing again). But I technically started writing for royai just before then because Fullmetal is one of my all time favorites and royai is so special and perfect to meeeeee (I also wrote a kacchako fiction which is technically my most popular by kudos??? Which is wild?)

I cannot tell you how closely i watch my phone after a chapter of itm is posted. I just like, stare longingly and wait for comments to roll in T-T

canary really deserves to just go ham on graves and kira tbh, like if he was capable i'm sure price would string graves up like a piñata and let canary go wild (and maybe take a few swings himself)

i know i've said it a million times but price loves her like so much, like if she wanted him to he'd probably step down from running the 141 for her. and even if she never loves him back again, he would do anything for her to make sure she feels safe and comfortable for the rest of her life, which i think canary is realizing 👀

a lot of canary's reactions and feelings are based on my own experiences and similar experiences i've seen, and the anger esp was something that really resonated with me. and like she knows she's being mean, and she doesn't want to be, but she doesn't have a way to really work through those emotions and that trauma yet. and i think the 141 knows that she's going through something and it'll help once graves and makarov are gone, so they're a little more lenient and willing to be there for her despite her jabs at them. plus, y'know, the guilt.

but it's also a little self-indulgent way for me to see a character getting the comfort and patience i wish i would've gotten when i was going through something similar. i'm so glad canary and what she's going through and how she's slowly healing feels real enough to resonate with people. it's something i always worry about because i know reactions and processing aren't the same for everyone, but it's comforting (ig??) to know that people find her realistic.

it's a happy ending so i feel like i have to say she's okay, but i guess we'll just have to wait and see......tho i wouldn't blame her if she decided to stay away from cars for a while

the house def hurt to write, but we don't know the full damage yet right??? it could still be salvageable!!!!

it’s also fascinating to see how much more “mainstream” (if you will) the gaylor perspective has become over the last few years. I was talking to my sister about this very thing and she said she feels like so much of her co-worker swiftie subset are borderline gaylors as well and that was so wild for me to hear. (it took my sister some time to be open to the idea herself) but all this to say, I’ve witnessed the perspective gain “traction” more and more

but I also find it funny how it’s only happening as of late when I felt like she was signaling just as heavily (if not more) during rep/lover years but it didn’t feel as mainstream then (inside our side of the fandom, yes we were buzzing, but generally speaking, it felt clouded behind CH, TH, and JA

anyway all this to say, it’s incredible to me to see it become a more well known topic. which leads me to believe it’s because Taylor’s “Easter-eggs” ARE in fact giving reason to believe she’s not straight. 20. Scars

I think Toph has fewer scars than we'd probably expect... She can be reckless and loves a good fight, but she's smart. Her moves are calculated and precise, and she knows how to handle herself for sure. But, I'd say she does have a handful of scars, and they likely mean the most to her.

I can see her having a burn from the war. The war balloons were made of metal, and there was a lot of fire wielding happening. Maybe she got a little burn on her leg or arm? If it's on her arm, I see her absentmindedly tracing it when she's thinking or a little nervous.

I feel like she has a scar or two from protecting her friends/family. Yes, she keeps her cool while in a fight for herself, but if you bring in her babies or her loved ones, things get a lil wild. Maybe a scar or two on her shoulder and back?

Her hands always have scrapes on them, too. They never hurt, but earthbending and using her hands a lot has led to calloused hands and some scars that will never fade. She doesn't mind, though. The scars are to show how much she's worked to get where she's at.

32. Something guaranteed to make them smile/laugh

If I can be self-indulgent here (and to stray a lil away from the answer twinkles gave in an ask lol), I think she'd smile and laugh at hearing Kanto and their babies playing around. No matter the situation, Kanto sounds rather silly, and the babies will be giggling or totally entranced by his words, and she just can't help but crack a smile. For such a big, strong man, he really is the goofiest for their kids.

35. Their idea of a perfect day

For Kanto, I think that he likes simple, ordinary days. He starts work early (but gets to have breakfast/coffee with Toph and the kids), he gets off work early, picks up the kids, and then immediately starts cooking dinner for the family. During his free time, he loves planting new plants in his garden and teaching the kiddos about them, and he loves it when they ask questions or want to help plant.

Kanto loves alone time with Toph, too. Even after all these years, he just craves her presence and can't help but smile when she enters a room. They don't have to talk, really, but being together is what makes the day so special.

If you asked the man, he'd probably say that every day is a perfect day, and I may have to agree with him on that <3 LOL.

49. Favorite toy as a child

Ooo yes! Kanto's favorite toy as a lil bubba Kanto...

I think he loved stuffed animals. His favorite was of a badgermole, and he carried that toy with him everywhere. One time, he ran off with his badgie and even found a badgermole cage! His mother was worried sick about lil Kanto, but he was just playing with real badgermoles while he talked about his stuffed badgermole.

And then if we add angst... I think the stuffed badgermole was probably the only toy that made it out of the fire that burned his family's house down. So it holds a lot of meaning for him, and he clings to it quite a bit.

a fair amount!!! a lot of my older fics were inspired by some of the wild things i got up to in college lol (see: the sex party). there's certain motifs that make it into a lot of my fics (right foot injury LMAO) as well <3

38. What is your most self-indulgent posted story?

ohhh sensibilities for sure. it's just a snippet of a larger a/b/o that was lovely and so indulgent and fun!!! the a/b/o elements added some fun spices And i got to play around with like Society a lot in it (though not much of it made it into this specific fic). the fic itself is very... gooey trauma comfort. sometimes you just want someone to stay, even if when we aren't are best.

43. Is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?

YEAH look. i've wanted to write a cathartic d/s spanking/discipline for a Long Time. It's on the docket!!! it's one of those dynamics that i ADORE reading and seek out, regardless of fandom!! its one of my favorites to read and i'd love to try my hand at it >:^))

77. Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction?

fuck it just feels good. it feels SO fucking nice to sit at my lil gaming pc, and tap away on my mechanical keeb and put words down. i love getting to craft stories. writing fanfic has allowed me to meet SO many amazing people and share stories too!!! i really enjoy getting to like.. Share comfort with people too. its nice :^)

klsdjkld thank you also I'm super flattered you'd come to me for tips 🥺💖 I can give a lil insight from things in the games so I’ll try not to be explicitly spoilery but just giving a heads up in case

so obvs I speak from a shippy dippy perspective but they do genuinely care about each other, especially in y3. Majima's a person Kiryu trusts and Majima's equally someone who would willingly do whatever to help out people he cares about. Majima's the type to be like yeah I'll die for you (serious)

since you've played 2, then you can very much see how Majima's willing to get back into Tojo bullshit cuz Kiryu asked him to. It's certainly telling that Kiryu goes to Majima of all people for help when it comes to Tojo shit which I think is a nice way to show he respects him to some degree. As nice as Kiryu is tho, he can still be a rude lil turd and likes to make jabs. He’s got a tendency to say shit he thinks is cool even if its inappropriate lol

also like, Kiryu doesn't really know how to read Majima but also I don't think Kiryu knows how to read many people tbh. There's a wild freeness about Majima that Kiryu enjoys seeing and indulging in, like when they fight and he seems to actually have fun with it. I don't think he's 100% aware of why he enjoys it or why he's willing to put up with Majima's dumbassery but Kiryu doesn't really need answers. Majima is Majima and that simplicity works for him

there's a lot of stuff in Dead Souls that gives insight into Majima and because I'm ill of course I know all of it. Lots of softie moments, Majima's a bit of a control freak about his appearance, he's an ass but it's playful assholery, he loves his subordinates even if he's a turd @ them, he's forgetful as shit, he's a bit of a stickler for rules - by the book type of stuff. THERE'S ALSO a part with a lil girl and he's so cute and awkward with her and it fulfills my dadjima addiction. I think Maji would love Haruka very much and Kiryu would be pleasantly surprised by that side of him

in y3, it's Kiryu's big dad simulator so you get to see him being a wise old fart even if sometimes he's a total boomer and embarrassing. He tries his best and has the best intentions but honestly his lone wolf attitude is often his downfall. Kiryu's very much a "I'll take a bullet for you even if there's other options to definitely not take a bullet" type of guy. He blames himself for a lot of problems out of his control and he's got quite the track record of running away from things if he feels like it'll be for the greater good of everyone else (it isn't lol). Suffer in silence sort of dude

they honestly don't interact much after 3 tbh cuz I guess it was too gay lmao but uhhhh they're definitely still motivated by each other's actions. 5 is very big on Kiryu beats up a lot of people again™, due to something that happens to Majima. At that point, Kiryu's life is quite far removed from the whole yakuza thing so I think it says a lot that he throws himself back into the fray for this bowlcut bitch

also! Majima’s wacky but it’s most certainly a façade. He’s very capable of toning it down in serious situations and equally, Kiryu’s a funky dude! Majima’s the type to put up fronts for his image while Kiryu’s very reserved but will absolutely go all out on something cuz he just can’t not put his 100% into everything even if it’s silly

I tried to keep things mostly factual based on the games with a couple of my own hcs thrown in so I hope it helps!!

sorry but i have been thinking about this for ages and it’s time 2 get it off my chest

kind of wild to be a gamer & a lady & engaging in fandom in 2020 because in my social circles/life in general there is a HUUUGE disconnect (long post goes behind a cut)

growing up, Games Were Only For Boys. my first interactions with games in a sense where i was actually engaging with the story of them did not involve me at the controller, it involved me watching my brother play

in my late teens and early adulthood up til now, Fandom And Especially Fan Fiction Is For Women - obviously there are exceptions to this, but in this post i am speaking in a very broad, general, stereotyped sense

which is wild because when i began writing fanfiction (for video games, in 2003) there were a LOT of guys who also wrote fanfiction that usually just involved action/adventure plots and little to no romance and i think that stopped because the stigma of fanfiction is that it’s romance/erotica aimed towards the ladies

the Fandom That’s For Women is very very VERY focused on shipping, romance, and sex

games, especially story-heavy games, can often also be full of sex shoved in your face - but that’s sex aimed at men, not women - women in skimpy outfits, jiggly boob physics, etc

true irony is that nowadays in fandom if you DON’T write the slash or you ship m/f characters you’re more likely to get hate for being homophobic or whatever but in 2006 when i was writing fma and ff6 slash i got shit on ALL THE TIME for publishing “that gay shit” and while i’m well aware slash as it exists today existed also way before 2003-2006 i wasn’t in those spaces i was in video game spaces and They Were For Men

so if you’re not in the engaging in fandom in the Stereotypical Dude Way (no gays, only boobs & violence against women, fanfic is stupid) or the Stereotypical Lady Way (ship everyone with everyone, romance is the focus, obligatory sex scenes) you can like sometimes find this section of fandom (SOMETIMES) that’s like...all gen only gen 110% of the time ONLY wholesome content ONLY fluff canon romances get a pass but nothing else and it’s like you’d write your mom and dad, not like, Romantic, it’s innocent in an almost childlike way, because there is also the stereotype that games are Only For Children

which is fine but it’s like...a lil boring...sometimes...not that i don’t have my “gen and fluff ONLY” days/fandoms because we do get tired of pointless sex & romance - i also definitely have my “oh they are ALL fuckin” days/fandoms...experiences are fluid...

anyway much more women play games and engage in fandoms for games now & thats dope as hell but for me personally there’s still this weird disconnect of like...i want to enjoy fandom (maybe especially game fandom bc fandoms for games are almost always very small) in a way that’s adult and explores the depth of the stories available to us but i don’t want to do it in a “obligatory bikini-clad woman and blood & guts scene” way or a “obligatory sex scene & everybody’s shipped with everybody” way either so like......idk. i’m not wording this very well i don’t think

i guess i miss how game fandom was in the early/mid 00s...despite the sexism and homophobia and etc...obviously all that is bad

but i think it’s harder these days to find good solid adventure/action fics these days ESPECIALLY for video games 

bc 1. most men don’t typically write fanfiction anymore and they are less likely to write romance 2. there’s this unspoken pressure that if you ARE writing fanfiction they Gotta smooch (or do more than smooch) & if you don’t stick it in there your fic falls anywhere on a scale of “boring” to “problematic” - there’s a huge focus on romance especially between same-sex characters - and i think PART of it is because we staaaarving for seeing those sorts of relationships written BY women and queer people in proper mainstream media which is valid but also partly that it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy - everybody thinks fanfic is for romance so it continues to be about romance

i just want like a middle ground...is that too much to ask...especially in game fandoms...

ok for an example...ff13 is the WORST offender re: fandom stuff 

what little fic there is is like focused on shipping fang/vanille which i dont like bc i see her as fang’s lil sister or hope/lightning or hope/snow which is like ?!?!?! because he’s like 14 or hope/noel because they’re literally the only 2 dudes who are in their early 20s and romantically available even though they BARELY speak to one another...like half the appeal of 13 to me was the very limited romance and YEAH i love me some fang/lightning but where’s the gen?! there isn’t any because gen’s too boring!!! men would write gen but they don’t write fanfiction!!! (or there would be needless sexualizing of/violence against women. i’m not going to sit here and say i actively want to read stuff written by men more than i want to read stuff written by women when i know that’s usually how that goes lol) and when you do find gen it’s like...VERY wholesome and thats great sometimes i have written that tooth-rotting fluff but ff13 is a dark game that deals with dark stuff sometimes... you see what i mean?? 

anyway. drives me batty

and it’s wild too that the PEOPLE in my life who engage with fandom all distinctly fit into Guy Fandom or Girl Fandom or Gen Only Fandom...i rarely ever see crossovers...my brother is the first most of my friends from tumblr are the second and a lot of people i met thru undertale are the third...Girl Fandom does not engage in game fandom much, most of game fandom is Gen Only Fandom or Guy Fandom...but i want the lessened romance/sex of Gen Only and Guy Fandom, the adultness of Guy Fandom and Girl Fandom, and the “please stop objectifying and victimizing women” of Girl Fandom and Gen Only Fandom...HOW do i get this...i don’t...i can’t...Gen Only Fandom tends to stay so far away from heavier darker stuff too and i like my heavy shit...it’s a Problem...

again there are obvious exceptions to these generalizations...these are just personal observations...nobody send me mean anons...i just had to get that out there

Ok, I’ve read chapters 1-11 of The Secret Commonwealth and this is my set of impressions so far. I’m using the audiobook, which is wonderful and I recommend it! Under the cut for spoilery reasons:

First and foremost, the audiobook: Michael Sheen is A-MA-ZING! And because he did La Belle Sauvage too, lots of voices are recognisable and I love it. Pan sounds a lot like young Malcolm, but less sweet and more sharp and snappish and it’s beautiful. Marcel has hints of Bonneville = Papadimitriou aka disgustingly smooth but scholary and witty. Lyra sounds amazing; Alice and Hannah have the same voices as they did in LBS (i love you michael for this). Malcolm has a mix of Coram’s voice and Asriel’s voice, he sounds worldly and sexy scholarly at the same time, I love it! Olivier sounds like a lil bitch.

I love the part where Lyra is telling Miriam about her origin story and it’s added that she wasn’t sure about the horse, but she liked it. She won’t give up on the romantic vibes of Asriel saving her, first the swordfight, now a horse lmao;

“I saw someone being mudered” Pantalaimon no chills lmao I love this adult Pan, he is so special to me, but then again I always loved him and his grumpy mood.

The Hyperchorasmians: this was such a wild moment, I laughed out loud and was like “is this a self meta?” but someone did brought to my attention it may be a self parody, I love it regardless.

Pantalaimon saying "I do exist (...) we exist” and so on, was really powerful, because it feels like a horrible existential crisis and I get his anger with Lyra and I feel his entitled to it. Right now, they’re struggling with their sense of self, yet they are one, and while Lyra finds that concept interesting, Pan is afraid because the same concept suggests he ain’t even real. In our world, our existential crisis consists of asking “do i exist or not?” but in Lyra’s world, is like asking if only a part of you is real and that’s bloody horrible to even think about.

I love how smoothly Pullman retconned Alice’s age, in “Lyra now thought she wasn’t as old as she first thought” like yeah my man, nice try, but I see through the lies of the jedi your retcon, yet I love it all the same lmao I’m glad she’s alive and well.

I love that remark of Lyra having learned how to charm people and manipulate information out of them with her wits and small talk. That’s such a Marisa trait, at least as I always perceived her and it really made be bubbly and cheerful as I noticed that.

I also noticed how Lyra refers to Asriel either by his name or as Lord Asriel, and she still refers to Marisa as Mrs. Coulter, although she acknowledges them as father and mother when other people refer to them that way. I’m a little sad she doesn’t refer to them as mom and dad, but then again i feel like they never earned that treatment from her and I get it.

Pan suggesting Malcolm and Alice may be lovers and Lyra stares at him then ignores him because the mere thought of it it’s inconceivable LMAO

Lyra remembering Asriel’s moonlight walk with her was too much for me, that’s as emotional as I’m gonna get. It really made me sad that Asriel was living hand to mouth and that he left her nothing; to think that his most recent luxury was his house arrest on Svalbard is, well, sad.

On a happier note, Dr Carne supporting Lyra is my favourite thing. He cared enough about her to actually give her a home and support, and I think people should respect him more. This guy is the father Lyra had, however quirky the entire situation was and I have an immense love for this character.

Oh my God, I cannot believe they kept Lyra in the dark for so long. She is so fucking clueless about everything! What is wrong with those people? Tell the girl everything for fuck’s sake! The moment she snapped I snapped too; for fuck’s sake, she should have known about that stuff the moment she came back from the other worlds. Also, the fact she does not know about Asriel and Marisa is infuriating, but that one I can forgive because they kinda did threw themselves into a fucking void and didn’t wanr anyone about it, so...

HOW THE FUCK IS THE MAGISTERIUM STILL STRONG???? I am so fucking angry! I can understand why it takes a long time for them to dissolve entirely, but they are still strong and influential and Asriel’s war was for absolutely nothing. He and Marisa died for nothing, everyone that died there died for nothing and I am so angry because I hate theocracies with every fiber of my fucking being and I AM SO FUCKING SMAD;

Lyra does mention “the witches of the north” and that got me thinking that there may be more types of witches around the world and that not all of them have split daemons. But I don’t know, just a thought.

I only read 11 chapters, but so far I am 95% percent sure Lyra and Olivier are going to end up together by the end of the third book. I will not elaborate on this now since I have very little to go on with, but I will speak more as I read more. I do not approve of this, but I fear this may be the route Sir Phil is going for. I hope I am wrong.

Malcolm’s description of his feelings for Lyra are creepy and cringe. If he only, I don’t know, “discovered” his feelings for her recently, I could overlook it with a certain frown, but he’s been having those weird ass feelings since she was his student and a minor and that’s creepy, to say the least. I know he acknowledges that what he felt wrong was wrong and weird, and wow, thank god, but the fact he indulges himself on those feelings now that she’s older is weird. I feel like Pullman is deceiving us, I’m just not sure. I love Malcolm, I do, and I am slightly attracted to him now lmaoooo but no, you see? No. Not okay, but as I said before, I don’t think they’re ending up together. I hope I am right.

Also the way Pullman describes it lmaoooo “Malcolm Polstead, age 31, was in love with Lyra” or something like that. It was so funny, I felt like I was read a very well-written fanfiction that suddenly the author had a stroke and wrote as if they’re 12 and in love. It was very cringe, I don’t know, I was embarassed on Malcolm’s behalf.

I really love that Oakley Street is still going strong, sort of lol and that Malcolm is now a member and I hope we get to see more of them. I love spies and I love Oakley Street and I’m sad Nugent is dead.

Makepeace referring to Pan as “my boy” warms my heart because it shows the daemons’ treatment we should see and treat them: they are people and they have feelings and they exist and should be acknowledged. I just cherish the whole conflict between Lyra and Pan because this is what it feels so far: the struggle of being who they are and the pain that comes with it.

I have an unpopular opinion here, but I love the relationship between Pan and Lyra; I love their banter, their fight, their anger with each other. It feels right, although I am sad that they are fighting a lot because of the existence business, I think Lyra is really being inconsiderate with Pan. But, I think their constant disagreement is in-character; they always disagreed with each other, they always were very different from each other, so I love that they struggle with that, it’s just sad that they’re bordering on self-loathing and they need to work on that. I want them to find the spark of love they had, but not to the point where they are clingy again; they’re people and they’re different and they are the same person, so they need to come to terms with that. It really hurt me when Pan had to yell that he exists, that hit so close to home and I don’t know, I felt speechless for a moment.

Pan saying: “You are in a world full of colour, and you wanna see it in black and white” was a powerful. I really appreciate how that argument was handled. It’s beautiful and sad and painful to listen, there’s so much emotion in Lyra.

Back to Malcolm, I think that Pullman is going for a weird route here, not gonna lie. But so far I think that Malcolm’s awareness of its weirdness is alright, I think and as long as he never acts on his feelings, we’re gonna be fine. I want Lyra to end her story alone and with a healthy relationship with Pantalaimon, because that’s what really matters in life.

Now, more Oakley Street: I’m sorry but Glenys Godwin is awesome and I am so happy that a woman is the head of my favourite spy organisation, thank you sir phil for this gift. bc welcome to being a broke college kid im calling myself out

so you decide that youre gonna go to the library on campus bc sis,, cash in on the tuition money ok

so you go and youre like wow hahahaha i dont have a library card better sign up for one

so you go to the desk and theres no one there

just your luck really

you decide to wander around a little to see if theres anyone who can help you

and low and behold you stumble across someone

this young man knelt down by a shelf with a book rack next to him just humming softly and organizing books

and you catch his attention by clearing your throat slightly

he looks up and his eyes are big over the rims of his wire framed glasses that are clinging to the tip of his round button nose

and his hair is a little mussed from being bent down

but holy hell

youve read enough novels to know that this must be exactly what the characters are talking about when they say things like ‘love at first sight’

“sorry” he says as he standcs and brushes himself off “can i help you with anything?”

starstruck really

you manage to stutter out something about needing to register for a library card and he smiles so kindly it makes u want to melt

“sure!’ he says, motioning for you to follow him back up to the desk

he asks you a few basic questions, like your name, your age, and what building your dorm is in so he can put it all on your new nifty library card

the kid is all business really

he tells you that his name is doyoung if you need anything else

you ask how he got the job there, out of curiousity

because really, both of the librarians youve encountered seem pretty young for the standard librarian stereotype

doyoung explains that its a work-study job, so nearly all the people that work there are students at the university and work in between classes or on their off days to make some extra cash or pay off some tuition

and you can get behind that!!

so doyoung is cool and you decide you can go to him to ask questions instead

because while dream boy is a dream boy with pretty cheekbones and nice lips and a smooth voice and a good sense of style and a great height without insoles and looks great with glasses and has the most captivating eyes

hes a lil distracting lol

anyway you find yourself in the shakespearean section

and you grab a hamlet off the shelf and head back up to the front to have doyoung check the book out to you

and as hes handing you the book back you get a classroom notification saying that, despite common belief, the book rental wasnt due by tomorrow, but the whole book reading is due by tomorrow

you wonder how the fuck professors get away with shit like this and then you remember that you didnt bother to read the syllabus so you cant really get too mad at anyone but yourself

so you find a table that looks like it has the comfiest chairs and cozy up for a long evening of reading and annotating

(depending on who you are you either love or hate hamlet, either way it is exhausting to annotate anything from that man so bear with me ok)

five hours later and ⅔ of the annotations later it is 11:56pm

and you havent noticed

you hadnt noticed much of anything happening in the real world after you popped in a headphone and started reading about guards seeing a ghost

that is until someone plops down in the seat in front of you and asks

“so what are you studying”

and you look up, a little delayed because youre finishing a notation

only to find that its dream boy

and your brain blanks for a sec bc wow every time you see him its kinda like?? ouch???? my heart bro

so you just kind of shake your head and mutter some “im not really sure anymore”

he flashes this cute fucking grin that you know is supposed to be slick but just comes off as wholesome and says

youre probably just exhausted from annotations but maybe that was actually funny

and his smile softens like hes made progress on something

he smiles and reaches across the tabe and you take his hand

its warm and strong and you try not to think about it too hard

“well, y/n, library loses here in another two minutes or so.”

he sees the look on your face fall

“but never fear!” he leans forward and lowers his voice

you hold your breath

“i told ya you could stay, didnt i?”

his smile is closed lipped and cute and genuine

before you can say anything hes up and ushering the last few people out of the library, telling them good night and good luck with their classes tomorrow

youre kind of caught in a brain dead daze after finally being pulled from your studying to watching this cute librarian named jaehyun bustle around and lock doors and turn off lights

and when he finally gets back to you he clicks on the lamp on the table youre working at and sets a cup of coffee in front of you

he mustve made it as you were falling asleep with your eyes open

you thank him copiously before asking

“i thought you let everyone stay after hours when you closed”

he shakes his head as swallows the clearly too hot coffee

The Wild 

-FLUSTERED NEJI FLUSTERED NEJI! YAAAAS

-If his s/o is wild in the way of dancing on top of bars, tables, dancing with strangers, getting low with their pals then Neji is going to feel like he’s been thrown into another universe. If his s/o is generally a wild personality but it escalates when they are drunk then he is going to be more prepared, cups of water at the ready with warning signs memorised to know when to take them and leave. 

-This means he will be warning them not to drink too much, take it easy and make sure they don’t get too out of control. Because if they get too wild and in everyones face he’s going to get really embarrassed and awkward. 

-If they aren’t normally wild but suddenly once there is alcohol in their system they let out their inner party animal, Neji is going to be shocked to the max. Like that cute lil open mouth stare with furrowed brows type shock. When it’s only escalated a little he will actually find it quite adorable - like he isn’t used to having his s/o be so comfortable, having fun and coming out of their shell. There will be moments where is watching them with a big smile on his face, he will try to hide it but if they suddenly look at him they will see it, causing him to blush. (it’s such an innocent smile full of pure affection ahhhhh)

-Once they get too wild though he’s going to step in and say something, it may come off quite snarky but honestly he is just so flustered he won’t know what else to do. It’s just not Neji to be wild and if they are out in public then it’s going to be a big no no for his s/o to be as well. It’s not that he doesn’t want them having fun, he just doesn’t want them making fools of themselves only to regret it later.

-Also if they are the kind of wild to also get frisky too (in public) then that’s going to set of warning sirens inside the boys mind. Neji is not one for public intimacy let alone his s/o trying to get hot and heavy while drinking. If they try anything that crosses the line (cupping him through his pants for example) he will grab their wrist or hand and drag them straight home. Following this would be a long lecture. 

-Now if they were like this in private it’s going to be a different story. Neji is still going to be flustered as heck but because they are in the comfort of their own home, he let’s himself (not without internal struggles) to indulge in it. Honestly the wild confidence turns him on waaaaay more than he would care to admit and would only dare succumb to the wiles of his s/o in this private situation. (only if they weren’t drunk though, Neji boy does not take advantage)

-If the s/o is feeling especially wild while at home and decides to say…do a strip tease, put on some hot underwear (or lingerie) the boy is going to get hard instantly and all the arguments are going to fly out the window. If they’re really drunk (even just more than 2) then Neji won’t dare touch them only put them bed, tuck them in while he goes to take a cold shower. If they’ve each only had a drink or two then get ready for a wild night. He will totally let them have their way with him too since they’re in a wild mood.

The Quiet (but emotional)

-If they’re normally quiet then Neji won’t pick up on it at first, but he is very perceptive so will notice eventually. And if they aren’t normally quiet then he will begin to worry really early on. Either way he will be constantly asking if they are okay, if they would like some water or if they want to go home. 

-He won’t even focus on anything else the entire evening because his s/o is his priority, keeping a close eye on them when leaving their side (if that ever happens tbh boy will stick the them like glue). As the evening progresses he will hold their hand giving it a comforting squeeze every now and again. This doesn’t sound like much but his s/o will know he isn’t usually one for PDA in the slightest but in the moment he doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is making sure they feel loved and that he is there for whatever reason.

-When the emotions come, whether they are a waterfall of tears and the whole “NOBODY LOVES ME” feels or less excessively expressed ones with them feeling down, Neji would suggest them going to sit by themselves or going home so they can talk. If they are REALLY drunk and talking won’t work on it’s own then he will run them a bath. It’s the sweetest thing, he will wash their hair, wipe their tears and tell them how much he loves them. If they don’t listen to him he will get a little irritated especially if they keep repeating themselves, his answers will become more blunt however he won’t ever snap unless they get angry with him.

-If they are happy emotional then Neji will sit back and enjoy the moment with them. Long and intense stares across the table, casual hand holding under the table and a sneaky arm around their waist occasionally throughout the evening. Neji never really relies on words to express his feelings most of the time so these little moments will be full of so much love and affection.

-Honestly Neji won’t really mind if his s/o is a quiet drunk, it suits him just fine but if they’re really emotional then that is going to make him worry. He would probably want them not to drink if it gets too out of hand. 

The Clingy

-If his s/o is by his side the entire evening then Neji is not one to care, in fact it’s probably what he wanted to happen, considering he has missions all the time he wants to be with them as much as possible. If they are there sort of just clinging to his arm (casually not over the top) or holding his hand then he won’t mind since they’re most likely in the company of friends.

-As the evening progresses they might get super lovey dovey and whisper sweet nothings in his ear while hanging close-by. If it’s just innocent affections then Neji will blush, smile and occasionally whisper something back (mainly I love you’s). If the things turn dirty or sexual then he will be red as a tomato and sternly tell them to stop. There’s no way he’s going to risk getting aroused in public or amongst company, especially when he knows how strong a hold his s/o has on him… boy can get hard in an instant. 

-It’s when they start getting to touchy feely Neji will start to get irritated and will tell them to stop. He’s never been a fan of PDA and probably won’t ever be with things more than a chaste kiss or hand holding. So anything beyond that is pushing it! The thing is if his s/o attempts to do anything sexual he will not have it. One because his s/o is drunk and he won’t want to take advantage and two he doesn’t like being caught off guard - mainly in public.

-If they don’t lesson after he tells them to stop then he’s going to get REALLY annoyed and whisper a harsh lecture in their ear, taking them aside or straight home. If they ignore him again then he’s definitely taking them home, putting them into the shower and bed.

-If they’re that over the top clingy drunk, refusing to leave his side even for a moment (whining and complaining) then he will be a bit annoyed. Mainly will give them a “come on don’t be ridiculous I’m just going to the bathroom” look and “you can last one minute without me” line. Deep down though this will give him one heck of an ego boost. 

-If they’re in private and his so gets really clingy through cuddles and craving affection then Neji will think it’s absolutely adorable. Seeing his s/o want attention and love from him when they are comfortably spending time together (even if his s/o is drinking) he revels in it. It may catch him off guard with minor flustered moments at first but he will settle into their hold quite quickly. 

-He’d probably make them drink a couple glasses of water, take them to bed and cuddle up with them once he figured they had enough. Neji would probably enjoy the heat they radiate from the alcohol they’ve consumed and snuggle closer than usual with a firmer grip on them. It’s really sweet and super adorable.
