In TADC, some lines got changed between the dubs

My favourite of which is when Caine asks Bubble "why are you like this?"

According to my friend, in the Ukrainian dub, it got changed to "evolution did not have pity on you" LMAO

THAT LINE IS INFINITELY FUNNIER THAN THE ENGLISH VERSION

Don't apologise! I love answering questions about my aus :D

1. I'm trying to think of something that isn't too spoilery? Just gonna list a few things about it. I think I said before that it's gonna have a happy ending, Leo's gonna get home eventually but the Prison Dimension also runs on slightly different time so he's gotta survive for a good bit before that. Oh yeah, Mikey can't open the portal at the end of the movie - they have to open it like how the foot clan did so that's some extra time for Leo to bond with the Krang ig. I also really wanna go a little into some of my own headcanons about the Krang when they were in the PD which I think will be really cool when I get to draw them :]

2. Yes and No. The mask comes off and the arm/leg protectors can probably get removed too but Leo built the chestplate thing around himself to protect his shell so homeboy is stuck in that thing. (His shell likely also fused to the metal when it was healing so it wouldn't come off easy)

3. Yep! The chestplate especially since it's a pretty important source of protection for him. His family would probs want rid of the armour as soon as possible but Leo would be pretty reluctant to let any of it go.

4. They hate it! Donnie wanted to cut Leo out of that chestplate the moment he was home safe but Leo refused for ages to let him anywhere near it. Casey Jr also really hates the mask so Leo would hide that in his room until he'd be ready to get rid of it. They're all pretty worried about him for a long time afterwards and Leo not letting them treat his shell does not help in the slightest.

Didn't mention it yesterday, but friendly reminder that Revolution aired in english, as per the schedule!

Now we have 3 (4 if you include Action) weeks to go before we get the whole season in english! Ιt's really hard to choose, but I guess I'll go with "The Frond Files". I'm rather new to the fandom, so I don't know if people have talked about it a lot.

I never get bored of watching this episode! The kid's stories are so fun, unique and their interests and personalities are really shown through them.

And of course mr Frond's meltdown at the end had me laughing out loud! He wants to be liked like everyone else, he's just really terrible at relating to children, despite being the freaking guidance councelor!

I mean, i know my head wanted to connected dots just to connect them, bc James uses seed as a metaphor/simile quite enough, it's in his repertoire. He uses it even in interviews.

The funny thing is that the first other song that came to my mind after hearing "seed" was not the obvious one, the one with seed in the title.

It was, of course, Bleeding me.

I have several lol. But I asked my co-writer Bailey which one I should share and she asked me to take this one which she wrote (it's from our wip Aeternum where I write Thanea's pov and she writes Nevras' pov).

It's a flashback to the day Nevras met Gwenny for the first time. 🤍

In the next moment he didn't trust his eyes. A tuft of red wavy hair popped up from behind the rotten handrails. A young girl in a too long nightgown peaked over the rails.

Nevras kneeled down and said: "Hello, my little one. Who are you?"

Her head turned around and her piercing red and tear-stained eyes browsed the hallway, apparently searching for who he was talking to. Tears rolled over her cheeks when she turned around and ran through a closed door.

So the family's daughter has turned into a banshee. Poor little one, he thought as he approached the door through which she had disappeared.

He cautiously knocked at the door and asked: "Do you not like visitors?"

To his surprise the door slowly and creakingly opened after a click. He entered the room which was the only one that still had an intact window and a door that was still in its angles despite the long weathering. A dollhouse stood on a table in the one corner and in the middle a broken canopy bed made out of light pink silk. Everything was covered in dust as if one had locked the door and never gone into it again.

The little girl was hiding behind her wardrobe and flinched when he kneeled down on the floor and held his open arms towards her. It didn't take a minute of eye contact until the little one ran into his arms and started to weep bitterly.

"You held on so well, my little one", he said softly and stroked her back until the weeping let up.

(Little spoiler because I didn't want this to get too long: Nevras will buy this property and basically adopt Gwenny. ^-^)

trying to explain that gender essentialist thinking is harmful just on principal of upholding the concept in society while also acknowledging how like. trans men have noticed more confidence and physicality once they went on testosterone without undermining the point.

#trying to talk to my siblings abt it has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my whole life #like am i in the wrong?? if i squint at my sister using words like masculine energy and feminine energy in her spirituality #to describe a different between forward / penetrative / hardworking energy versus a receiving / being energy in her spirituality?#like to me. wanting to describe those ideas is fine. but why are you using gendered words to do it #it is partly because in english we haven't thought of many replacement words that Aren't gendered #but like. is the reluctance to change that vocabulary a matter of convenience or some room to clear out gender essentialism?#is gender not real but hormones and traits associated with them real? is making a distinction between the two worth it then?#EYE think so. because you can have women with low estrogen who feel masculine but are still content as female #and you can also have women with high testosterone who don't want hormone therapy yet still identify as female #so to link the two feels? unnecessary? even IF there is a likelihood to more easily acquire certain traits with each individual hormone #I DON'T KNOWWW enough about all this i unironically wanna get into gender studies just bc of this conversation hsdfkjsl #which was prompted by me subjecting myself to j*rdan p*terson bc my brother listened to him in the past btw lol #my brother has many disagreements with him and both he AND my sister are trans allies by i feel like...#they still have some concept of gender essentialism and i don't know how to properly confront it when i haven't even done that much researc #and honestly feel like i can't given my schedule #god. if you read all that thank you. also pls share ur thoughts if u have any #i've been thinking abt this for days #and would love any and all extra input especially from trans voices but not exclusively i am desperate #*edit my sister also like acknowledged how my squinting was justified but also saw me acknowledging peoples' responses to hormone therapy #and the difference they've felt in behavior as like. contradictory lol #and how like. if there was a trans woman who didn't want hormone therapy like. these two are idiots. hate each other for the longest time.

Something shifts, at some point, and one of them starts to notice how much they have in common. Maybe it's Tam singing a song Keefe likes to himself as he walks down the hallway. Maybe it's Keefe saying exactly what Tam was thinking in a meeting. Maybe it's them getting shoved into a situation where they have to get along. But whatever it is, they take a step towards each other, and then bam.

Bam.

This is friendship like no one else has ever seen it.

Fitz and Keefe were childhood friends, they based their friendship on liking the same things, going to the same school, all that jazz. As they got older, it took hard work to keep them on good terms, and their friendship took a lot of blows it couldn't absorb over the years. Keefe isn't great at communicating with Fitz, and Fitz is a wreck, who relies really heavily on his sister and on Sophie, more than he relies on Keefe. Mostly because Childhood friends aren't always the best adult friends. But Fitz and Keefe work at it, and their friendship survives, and gets stronger after Keefe starts dating Sophie, because Fitz finally figures out what the pain in his friend's eyes was.

But that's nothing like Keefe and Tam's friendship. They're a friendship of pure choice. It's a slow snowball effect into friendship, and the first time Keefe calls Tam when he wakes up screaming is the first night Tam realizes that he loves his friend. Like, really truly, wholly and platonically, he'd die for Keefe.

It's an odd character progression, but it's a good one. He talks his best friend through a panic attack, and Keefe's heavy breathing goes normal slowly. When Keefe hangs up, he realizes, almost wonderingly, that you can have two best friends.

Because Sophie's his best friend. He's known she is for years. She's been a constant support and someone he'd live and die for all at the same time. But there's a difference between that and how Tam is to him. First of all, he'd never want to kiss Tam like he wants to kiss Sophie. Second of all, Tam almost understands him in a different way. A way that boys understand boys, a straightforward, relatable, uncomplicated way. Just like girls understand girls, in a backhanded, complicated, fraught and dangerous way. Tam understood the workings of Keefe's mind like Fitz had, but stronger, almost.

Maybe it was just that Tam really, really, really tried to understand. Tried to meet him where he was at and say the right things. Keefe had noticed that. Tam was deliberate, with his words, and when he said something, he always thought it through and meant it.

Keefe could appreciate the honesty.

Tam invited Keefe over to Solreef, a lot, after Keefe had mentioned not liking his own house all that much. Tam hoped that Keefe didn't think it was pity. Keefe doesn't think it's pity. And besides, it's fun. There's food and laughter at Solreef, and there's his best friend. The third one he's ever had, one of the two he has right now, and it's great.

The two of them are idiots, together. They do stupid stuff, plan stupid escapades, throw things off of high places, climb trees and yell at each other. They're kids. They make each other feel like the kids they are, like the sixteen year olds they've always been. They don't have to grow up, be more than they are when they're around each other. What they are is enough.

There's inside jokes between them, and one of them is insulting each others' hair. The other always feigns horror, and it's just this funny routine the two of them do, and it's stupid and funny, and Sophie always rolls her eyes and Linh face palms and Biana laughs.

Tam really likes cooking, and Keefe is practically a pastry chef. They make first class food, and that's one thing the Keeper Crew really enjoys about Tam and Keefe getting along. Even when they're out on missions, the food is always amazing, and for some reason, it tastes better when two best friends work on it together.

Tam's been over to Keefe's house more times than Sophie has. Honestly, Keefe only really trusts Tam with being able to deal with the danger of being in his house. It's not that he trusts Tam more than Sophie, he just knows Tam can deal with hearing his father spit a few insults at him far better than Sophie can. Sophie would go on a murder streak. Tam just listens. Clenches his hands into fists. Watches his friend with a worried glance, but when Keefe doesn't talk about it, lets it slide. Tam knows exactly what it's like to love your parents but hate what they do to you.

Keefe went with Tam to Choralmere once. It was an experience, to say the least. Neither of them talk about how hard Tam's hands shook when he grabbed Linh's three books on Hydrokinesis she wanted, but was too afraid to go get herself. Neither of them talk about the broken glass of the family portrait that had clearly been on the floor of Linh's room for months.

Keefe does crack jokes about how bad Tam's hair looked in the pictures, though. Tam actually smiles, right as they leave. Miraculously, they managed to avoid his parents.

Honestly, Tam and Keefe getting over their hatred of each other was a huge step for both of them and self acceptance. Everything that they hated in each other was something they each hated in themselves, and to stop hating that in someone else made it harder to hate it in someone else. It made them better people, whether they wanted to or not, and the both of them love themselves more for loving each other.

Thats interesting that they named Brer Fox, Honest John, in one dub? Was the intention to make Brer Fox the same as the Fox in Pinocchio?

THAT'S EXACTLY WHY IT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH AHSJAGS !! Bc I honestly hate the fox from Pinocchio and hate that they were given the same name. Esp when Br'er Fox is already way less known than him >.>

But no, in the dubs he's never refered to as Honest John. His name was adapted to Comrade Fox / Fox / Brother Fox / Mister Fox in the movies. It was only in the comics and further material that he was renamed Honest John. Br'er Rabbit's name also changed to Quincas Rabbit and Br'er Bear's name was Big John in the comics.

Idt they tried to imply they were the same character, I think it was either a coincidence or homage of some sort, who knows. I highly doubt the people translating the comics even knew who Br'er Fox or what Song of the south was, tbh. That movie was never big here (even less so, i mean)

This is smth that most english speakers will never really see in their media, since english is usually the default. Adapting and dubbing over material to a different language is a hella MESSY process, and sometimes we as the public end up confused. Sometimes you end up with bad translations, bad adaptations, or several different studios that dub/adapt the same characters in different ways. Which is why he doesn't even have a canon name in Brazil, the way you call him will depend on which dub you used to watch.

He doesn't even have a canon gender in some places. Latin languages are gendered, and most animals are male. However, Fox (Raposa) is a female word by default. So in a few dubs in Italy he's actually changed to a female to make the translation easier.

So, yep, it was just a messy process and dumb decisions. Im still mad about it tho. I usually just call him Br'er Fox anyway, but if you ask me then his 'canon' name here is just Raposa (Fox) bc thats the dub i gew up with
