Behind the Camera by Folerdetdufoler on AO3. It is a gorgeous story that I consider found family. Wilmon and Isak/Even platonically with firm boundaries. There’s a prequel SKAM story (no YR) called Mondays at Sixteen with Isak/Even meeting. The whole universe is called Mondays at Sixteen. I love this universe with my whole heart. It’s lengthy absolutely but oh so good. If anyone needs a fic rec.

Hi! I wanted to recommend The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling to you, if you haven't read it already. It's sci-fi hirror. It explores a really interesting and fucked up relationship between two desperate and fucked up women, all while one is caving (and cave diving), solo (minus the horrifying suit she's encased in's digital connection to her handler on the surface), on an alien planet.

I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it was one of my favorite reads of last year (along with Some Desperate Glory, too! I enjoyed your review). I still regularly think about the characters' relationship with each other. Your post about those real caves reminded me of it; the setting is similar. If you think you'd enjoy a horror story with that sort of setting, and just based on some of your reviews, I think you'd enjoy it! I definitely did

So did add this to my (...currently 192 book long) tbr when I first read this ask, uh, two weeks ago. Just forgot to actually respond.

Anyway, that does sound potentially really compelling, and I've definitely heard people mention this book positively before. So looking forward to it whenever I get around to it! (so like by new years 2025 probably)

Since I know you're a fellow enjoyer of stinky awful horrible theatrical garbagemen, I was wondering if you had any interest in adding another dramatic trashlord to point and laugh at? When not pointing and laughing at Genesis and/or Astarion, of course.

I was introduced to the newest Mortal Kombat game, and the main antagonist Shang Tsung is literally the worst creature I have ever seen. He stole Genesis' vibe and cranked it up to 1000000, then added genuine malice and cruelty, and it is honestly so unbelievably funny. He's mean, he's petty, he's homicidal, and he's serving the entire time. If Genesis makes me want to put him in a jar and shake it to hear him thunk around, Shang Tsung makes me want to put him in a centrifuge and spin him down to a goop.

I've never played Mortal Kombat tbh. Or any of the games. So I don't know much about the actual lore beyond...idk that awful movie from the 90's???? I've been meaning to play at least one of them. And your description entices me 😈😈😈 So I will check it out once I am done with Baldur's Gate!
