Im so sorry I chipped ur paint to shit #ngl the texture on the new one's better off the bat. the grip's better and it has good kinetic feedback #too bad abt the touch buttons tho... I was confident I could make use of them but alas #things need actual feelable buttons again please I can Not tell where anything is when Im drawing and cant look at the tablet #my eyes are on the screen!! Im bad at gauging distance!!! please give me buttons I can find in the dark. please #even the old huion which has actual buttons I still couldnt use them. bc theyre not raised #theyre flat to the tablet's surface. you know what I shouldve tacked raised stickers on them I was stupid there #well! the more u learn. the more u learn #I'm happy with the current tablet tho!! buttons stuff aside it's nice to draw on. and thats what important. wrists dont hurt no more #almost said ''I miss the wacom eraser end" I don't. not really. every time I used that thang I was like wow you are so imprecise and blunt #litcherally why would you want basically a mappable stylus end but it's 50 times the size of a normal nib and you cant see where ur drawing #especially on a screen tablet. the dynamic there makes absolutely no sense #I can really do the same thing now by mapping one of the stylus buttons to swap foreground color to transparency #anyways. this has been my testimonies on tablets. in the tags of a dip pen ink post lmao #well! this is a late post I shouldve posted this before art fight. thank u again to that anon who reminded me #have a good day lads! we can answer emails together. hands in professional hands

s/o to this person and their thread for allowing me to actually use my actual pen tablet driver and not one of the older/diff versions. for context i use a Huion 610PRO v2,,, i installed a 15.0 ver. 610PRO v2 (actual one), a 14.0 ver 610PRO (8192) driver, and a 12.0 610PRO (2048) driver. after some tickling around the bones it works :') never has before

my huion tablets though? 2/2 they've been great!!! they fucking LAST and have worked completely!! it's . literally just the software or my computer thats an issue HAUWHGFJHAW!!! i'd still have my old one if i didn't give it away... girl works perfectly since i got it..? 6? 7? years ago

you’ve probably received this question before but what program and brushes do you use? i love how your color/ paint! and do you or would you upload any speed paints?

Hello and thank you!! It's almost a bit embarrassing to admit but I've generally been painting on autodesk sketchbook on my Samsung note since I've started 😳 I'm a sucker for the tattoo inker brush!! (in fact I love it so much I attempted to port it over to clip studio paint too but failed)

Mostly because of how it flows, reacts to pressure, its texture and versatility. It can also look like pencil if I use thin, even-pressured strokes!

Also I do have speedpaints! I did record some over the years but admittedly only posted a few on instagram... Reason being the speed paint capture on autodesk ALSO captures all my crazy panning and zooming on the canvas, and when sped up it'll probably make people feel a little sick 🥲

I'll probably try recording again when I get to my commissions/future pieces!

How big did your canvas end up for your merman piece? It looks so clean and crisp!

thank u! funny enough I was fully eyeballing the majority of the process, I committed to using the soft pencil brush at size 100 to fill in most of the details which ended up making everything look kinda blurry (which I don't hate! it just looks like wrongly resized at any level of zoom except all out and 100%) anyways this is the size

I know plenty of folks draw on like 10K canvases all the time but this is double the size of my usual canvas lol. and it is at 350dpi bc it's the SAI2 preset and I love stressing out my beautiful, traitorous laptop

LORE | REKINDLED EPISODE 42 - TO THE RESCUE

Y'all, this episode. Holy crap. I know it's not a very long one and not much in terms of plot happens compared to previous episodes, but it's one that I've been looking forward to for ages now because it gave me the opportunity to pay tribute to that original sequence in S1, a sequence that captivated so many fans and former fans of the comic such as myself (I had the final panel as my phone background for like 2 years LMAO). Being able to redraw that scene with our own twist on it was such an amazing process, made all the better by @banshriek's amazing contributions in the background art (seriously, the background art is CARRYING this episode, I'm so grateful and proud of their work and how much they've contributed to this little spite project).

What also helped immensely was our recent anon savior who provided us with so many brush names and design notes for how they're used in LO, we had waaay too much fun using these brushes every chance we got LOL and we're gonna continue to use them because goddamn they're beautiful. Buckle up because the new year is gonna be LIT (•̀⌄•́)

In other news, halfway through the production of this episode I finally replaced my PC drawing tablet! I'm still using my Huion Kamvas 22 Plus as a monitor, but in searching for a new screen tablet, I got cold feet and decided to settle for a cheaper desk tablet instead, a Huion Inspiroy Giano. So far it's great, it's a bit on the larger side which I didn't fully realize when I bought it, so it's taken quite a bit of adjusting (plus I haven't used a desk tablet as my main drawing tool in... geez, 8 years??) but it's like riding a bike, you never really forget LOL So yeah, it's gonna make my drawing workflow a lot faster and more efficient now that I don't have to rely purely on my iPad (goodbye touch screen mishaps, hello keyboard shortcuts!) so I'm hoping it'll show in the episodes to come!

what kind of app do you use?? sorry if it's been asked before! i'm new so.. also, if you don't mind recommending a drawing tablet? thank you !! also i love your art sm, it makes my heart burst 😭💙

I still use SAI, as for other programs I haven't used them but I heard Krita and Ibis Paint can be good as free(?) options, if u want something more modern/with a lot of options there's CSP, there's something about it that just doesn't click for me but a lot of ppl use it and if ur planning on getting an ipad for any reason there's always procreate

as for tablets any small/medium tablet you can get for 100€ or less can be good for starting out, personally I recommend wacoms, they perform well on their cheaper models as well, for other brands you have to go on their more expensive models to get the same performance (just in my experience)

I currently use the Huion Kamvas pro 16 and I've been using it for years so I got no other recs but I wouldn't get something too expensive as first tablet, hope that helps!
