what happens if sonic goes baby and tails and the other have to watch him would it be the same with tails and would sonic recognize his brother or no

If Sonic alone gets turned into a baby, he doesn't hold the memories of his older self but the bonds and feelings and sensations are there. He instinctively knows his friends are people he can trust. He gets picked up by one of them and he just knows that these are family, that he is safe with them. He doesn't consciously remember Tails, but he knows Tails. A part of him knows that's his brother... He feels the most comfortable and happy around him.

Now, please enjoy some baby shenanigans under the cut :]

Sometimes he wants uppies. He'd keep tugging at Tails' sock to get attention and then hold up his arms with a whine. Tails leaves everything to pick him up and hold him so Sonic could happily snuggle up in the floof.

Other times he would wanna be placed down. He'll struggle and whine and kick his legs and kick and kick and kick till he's placed on the ground. Baby cheers and runs off, instinctively holding his arms forward for balance.

He is two apples tall and he's running before he even learns to crawl.

He doesn't want milk, give him those delicious smelling chilidogs instead.

"You can't eat chilidogs right now, you're too small."

He doesn't care, Amy, put it in a blender and give him chilidogs.

Something startles him, makes him sad or gets him angry and he'll find Tails to complain about it even though he only talks in babbles. Tails gets the gist of it somehow?! It surprises others but the bros know how to read each other, they don't need words to communicate. That is made clear when Sonic grumbles at one point, then Tails gives him an unimpressed raised eyebrow and baby Sonic whines, his ears lowered. They are clearly discussing something but no one can tell what.

Knuckles doesn't hold baby Sonic like you would an infant child, he always holds him like :

Then he'll carry Sonic outside into the sunlight because nature and daylight is good for him. Only to lower his wiggling feet in a stream to spook him, just a little. It's funny. Baby Sonic gets back at him by biting.

He carries the mad child back to the workshop and complains to Tails only for the fox to go, "Well you shouldn't have scared him then, that's what you get," while picking Sonic who grabs onto Tails and blows Knuckles a raspberry. He's taking the gremlin's side, unbelievable.

You take baby Sonic to a Chao garden or somewhere similar and he'll be glomped by chaos or critters or flickies or wisps just like his older self always is. The smol creatures recognize him and adore him still. Baby Sonic is giggling the whole time.

He sits on Tails' head and steers him by the ears and Tails follows along with pretended jerky movements and monotone robotic voice. Sonic giggles. He's piloting a giant robot :] It's only fair the 'giant robot' ends up being led towards a fridge with his head lowered in front of the shelf holding his own juice and he pulls back with an indignant shout when his gremlin babified brother steals his juice by using him. Preposterous! Betrayal! Tails says it all in the most dramatic manner much to the laughter and amusement of baby Sonic.

Aside from this one, there are a few baby Sonic posts I've made which are more inclined towards the Prime Bros au and you can find 'em on my blog in the 'baby sonic' tag, hope you enjoy them too.

I´m really sorry for taking so long. Truth is, I started multiple times, but scrapped it every time, because I find Vlad really hard to draw. So this is probably the best I can do. For now at least.

I'm actually writing something a little longer related to my other post but here's some little drabbles while I finish that up.

once the ghouls realize that they've failed Phantom so much as a pack, some of them would immediately start to feel remorse towards their actions but others would remain hostile towards him for a little longer.

The ghoulettes instantly realise how they had neglected their youngest member because they had been too focused on their grief and teaching Aurora about the surface (I like to think that she was summoned just before Phantom, not at the same time). They start to include him in their lessons with Aurora with more basic content than she gets so that he finally starts to better grasp the surface and its complexities. They also induct him into their little sub-pack, which means that he MUST be present whenever it's ghoulette pile time or it doesn't count.

Mountain also comes around to him fairly quickly. He's always been the type to be pretty laidback about things and if the ghoulettes accept someone he's usually quick to follow. he starts to invite Phantom out on walks with him where he shows him different plants and bugs. mountain is not the most talkative of ghouls so he tries to show his regret for how he behaved by introducing Phantom to things that he loves. I like to imagine that they can be found together in the greenhouses a lot where Mountain picks lots of new fruits, veggies and herbs for Phantom to try given how he's still not acquainted with most heart foods (plums are some of his personal favourites)

Swiss chooses to sulk a little instead of trying to make up with Phantom straight away. He will leave a room when the other ghoul is in it almost immediately because he thinks that he will just make the younger more upset. It takes Cirrus and Cumulus cornering him and telling him to pack it in for him to realise he's actually making it worse as now Phantom feels like because they got in trouble for how they treated him, Swiss now hates him. Swiss then finally stops his sulking and starts to interact with the other more. he notices how Phantom will often watch whoever is cooking with eyes full of wonder so decides that he's going to teach the new one how to cook. It's a complete disaster. Phantom is still unable to read so can't follow any of the recipes Swiss presents to him and Swiss has a bad habit of skipping the steps on accident, but hey at least Phantom learns some curse words to use.

I think I'm going to do Dew, Rain and possibly Copia in a separate post just because of how carried away I've gotten already but be assured they and the longer work I've got currently half-written will be coming soon!

What is your opinion on the books hinting that Moon shouldn't have existed but the Faz-pads most expensive menu items is moon themed? And the posters, plushies, and the infamous sphere? I loved your other 'rant' (for lack of a better term in my sleep deprived mind) and it got me thinking...

I’m guessing you mean the Moon that appears in The Bobbiedots who was originally built to be the “dark side” of Sun and once worked as a theatre animatronic?

Okay spoilers for The Bobbiedots, Somniphobia and Security Breach and some rambling thoughts ahead:

In short, I think the books’ canon (even from one book to another like say Bobbiedots and Somniphobia) and the games’ canon are more like AUs of each other than anything else, so basically different explanations will be given in different stories to fit that book or game in particular. So, Bobbiedots Moon wasn’t meant to exist in the daycare, but it looks like Security Breach Moon was. That said, I LOVE exploring the different versions of Moon and how he’s used in different stories, so if anyone wants to take the long scenic route with me, here we go!

Bobbiedots Moon

Theatre kid extraordinaire. A little too committed to the bit. Bobbiedots Moon doesn’t fit in his world - not in the daycare anyway. In The Bobbiedots, they’re busy dealing with an evil apartment. They don’t have time for poor Moon, no matter how badly he wants them to sleep.

Bobbiedots Moon feels like a bit of a throwback to the animatronics in Sister Location who had all these “interesting” design choices, like a stomach hatch for storing children (which totally wasn’t going to be used for evil, come on guys …).

In Moon’s case, he’s so good at being a pantomime villain (which is what he was made for from what we can tell - who bets he got booed because the kids wanted the sun to come back up and when the lights went out they’d fake snore and he’d go hunting down the naughty ones who couldn’t help but laugh?) that he’s no good in the daycare (personally I think the staff just weren’t imaginative enough in that universe to do naptime, or to appreciate the charm of a weird clown telling off wobbling toys for not sleeping when his recognition sensors inevitably failed him because they couldn’t be bothered to fix their broken animatronics). And he’s easy to exploit because he’s so committed to his role.

I don’t think Moon was evil by default when he worked at the theatre - at least not beyond his villainous role. He had an audience of probably more people than he could grab, and I’m guessing Freddy’s wanted repeat performances so their customers would keep coming back. Did he kidnap a child or two when the lights went out and everyone was confused? Maybe, if he was virus-riddled enough. Did he become a lot more unstable when he and Sun were moved to the daycare? Probably, but it’s not his fault he was an afterthought in a cheapo organisation that seems to think using precariously-placed backup generators is a better solution to their problems.

Security Breach Moon

Meanwhile, the Security Breach version of Moon has a TON of merch, a dish at the restaurant (Masa-Moondrop curry, yum! 💖 By the way, I totally recommend checking out this recipe ), and even his own little candy adverts. He’s on a statue, balloons, plushies, and even on the daycare pass right next to Sun. It would take a LOT of accidental advertising to put Moon all over the place if he wasn’t supposed to exist in Security Breach.

I think that, unlike the Bobbiedots Moon, Security Breach Moon was supposed to exist. Like you said, he’s got merch everywhere. It’s a big deal. And Moon’s merch matches all of Sun’s merch, so to me it makes sense that in the backstory of the game’s universe they both had a friendly role to play (I can’t imagine why they’d make a Moon plush with no one to hug him. The thought makes me sad. It also seems like a bad business move on their part so I’m opting to believe he was originally meant to be a friend to the kids).

But it looks like things took a turn at some point (as they so often do in the FNAF universe), as Security Breach also has the cheapo lighting in place, and Sun is pretty adamant that we don’t wake up Moon. And in this case it’s pretty clear that Moon has been infected by the Afton virus. He sounds like a bot with just one thing on his mind: putting you to bed at all costs.

Moon is a major player as far as the evil Afton operation goes in the game too. They picked a perfect bot to do their dirty work. He’s super strong - he knocked out Freddy and dragged him away with no problems. He’s also super agile - he can navigate all the tight twists and turns in the Daycare with relative ease (I pointedly ignore the version in my game while I make this statement as he seemed to spend most of his time getting stuck in the tunnels and slides kekeke). And he always seems to know where you are - the Glamrocks wander until they have you in their sights, but Moon makes a beeline for you the moment he can get his hands on you even if you’re inside Freddy’s stomach compartment. He works in the dark when no one can see him coming. He’s basically the perfect replacement for the night staff and makes it a million times easier to capture wayward kids.

There are also a lot of hints in the game that suggest that Security Breach Moon might have actually been reprogrammed to respond this way, and/or that he was used to reprogram the others.

The back areas with the endos are FULL of Moon merch, advertising, and so on. There are also a lot of posters teaching the animatronic endos how to behave, as well as a little room that looks a LOT like a little replica of the daycare play area. I’m pretty sure that this is where the animatronics (or at least the virus-riddled endos) were reprogrammed to capture children - maybe including Moon.

(There are a million things I could say about this poster and how it bears a strong resemblance to a bunch of things from earlier games but that’s for another time and another ramble …)

Somniphobia Moon

Meanwhile, over in Somniphobia, we have Moondrop’s dream sphere, where Moon ponders his orb, or perhaps his new friends who are now trapped inside it forever since it seems like he’s been stealing more than a few souls over there.

The dream sphere is not mentioned in The Bobbiedots or seen in Security Breach as far as I can tell. Whether it exists or not in those universes is open to interpretation, but it serves a clever purpose in Somniphobia. In this book, our favourite uncanny night jester spends his time luring unsuspecting victims into the dreamscape slowly without them realising. The protagonist actually has a few opportunities to escape the pull of the orb, but he just can’t put the dream sphere down because it takes him back to his favourite memories with his (now dead) father, and it makes their time together feel so real.

The dream sphere is advertised as a study guide, and it’s popular with older kids and teens. (Moon has the range). Our regular chase-you-down-and-force-you-to-sleep Moon is nowhere to be found in Somniphobia (whether he exists at the plex in the daycare or anywhere else in that universe is anybody’s guess) and instead we have sweet little Moondrop from the dream sphere who doesn’t speak but will let you see your wildest dreams. At the cost of your mind, which is now going to live in a sphere I guess or be harvested.

Can you befriend the little Moondrop from the dream sphere? Does he know he’s part of a creepy soul-stealing operation? The book doesn’t really say, but if he’s anything like most of the other animatronic/AI characters in the FNAF universe, I’d be willing to wager he’s just doing his job (showing people what they want to see) and being used as a prop for more nefarious soul-snatching schemes. (Curse you Fazbear Entertainment for giving us this funny little guy in a magic snowglobe and making him steal our souls along with our hearts!)

Conclusion

Essentially, I think Moon is being used in basically all the universes he appears in because he’s so perfectly built for capturing and retrieving wayward souls, but the way he’s being used differs a little between universes. In some universes it’s just not as convenient to have him showing up in front of a large audience thanks to his programming, but when the lights inevitably go out he has a tendency to show up nonetheless!

how much of alex rider would you recommend someone read/watch to get the full experience of the fic? i know you've said you're making it understandable to people who haven't read/watched it, but i personally like knowing some backstory before reading fanfics! Hi! Thanks so much for this ask and sorry for the delay in answering! We are using a blended canon of the books and show (mostly bc the show is only in its second season so far) But we're also playing just as fast and loose with AR canon as we are the DP canon. That being said, our recommendation is to watch the AR show! (It's free to watch with ads). Even if you only watch a few episodes, it's really great to establish the tone that this fic is set in. (I would personally encourage you watch the entirety of the show becuase it's really just so well done and the three of us agree that it's... honestly better than the books. merely because of its more serious and darker tone. The books were written in the 00s-10s for kids and the show is adapting it in a way that reflects that they understand that their audience are all adults now.) Books wise, if you want to know more about Yassen, (one of the main characters of the fic) we ARE keeping Yassen's canon backstory; Russian Roulette, the Yassen origin solo novel, is a really great read and will give you TONS of context. Yassen is unfortunatly not a HUGE part of the AR book canon. He only shows up like 3-4 times in two of the books and then haunts the narrative for the remianing majority.

Bastard has the gall to say this after dropping you mid flight as a prank.

You had taken to the occasional flight together to chat and blow off steam without the depressing atmosphere of the Nemesis. You had been growing to like the banter, the bitching, and the show-off aerial acrobatics you could sometimes convince the seeker to pull off while you were in the cockpit.

Starscream had been in the midst of complaining about how fragile and squishy humans were, 'What kind of pathetic species can't handle mach ten?' when you suggested that he could just say he didn't have the precision and fine motor control necessary to hold an uninjured human. Really, you don't-

-aaaand that's when he transformed and fucking dropped you from the stratosphere.

"Aww, what's the matter?" he grinned and wiggled his wrist and you tried so hard to shoot lazers from your eyes into his sodding smug face. "I caught you, didn't I? And not a scratch to be seen!"

That your life flashed before your eyes for a good minute and a half because Starscream played gravity-chicken to catch you as close to the ground as possible apparently doesn't bear discussion.

After that first incident, on another flight, you accused him of it being a fluke.

This time he tosses you upward and lets you fall. This time, your scream is of delight more than terror (but still with a lot of terror. Like a 60-40 split). This time, you can watch him as he angles himself perfectly against the wind to soar down with you.

It becomes a game. Over and over untile your throat is hoarse and his engines whine with the strain.

After all, if no-one's around to hear you scream, no-ones around to hear him laugh, either.

Man okay so in early S2 I had this like whole anthology that I never actually wrote (in my head I always refer to it as the "Son of a Dad" series loool) that basically follows the kiddads between the events of S1 and S2, particularly as they relate to dealing with the doodler.

Among those is a more Sparrow/Nicky-centric one (could be read as platonic for sure tho it was kind of intended to be ambiguous), when both of them are quite young and Hero is the only one of the children to have been born yet. :3 Basically, Nicky is like "damn Sparrow is taking care of a baby when he should be at the club", goes to uh wherever Sparrow and Rebecca and Lark woulda been living at the time (undecided on that), throws rocks at Sparrow's window until he opens it like in the movies, and (oh it's nighttime btw lol Rebecca and Hero are fast asleep already) is like ">:] Come to the club with me Sparrow let's go dance" and well it takes some convincing but eventually Sparrow agrees and sneaks out the window to get crunk with Nicky haha.

So they do that, and MEANWHILE some doodler-related shenanigans is afoot, and the rest of the kiddads are freaking out cause they can't reach Sparrow or Nick (cut to them just having a blast). Back at the club, a drunken Sparrow eventually spills the beans that Rebecca is pregnant again, *and* that he's pretty sure Hero is technically Lark's. Oh SO in this version of the timeline Nicky and Lark actually had a brief fling years before this story takes place, and when Nicky learns this from Sparrow he does the math and realizes that this means Lark cheated on *him* (importantly, Nicky isn't correct about this, but that would be explored in a different fic in the series lol) and so. Well he doesn't say this to Sparrow, but when they regroup with the gang by the end of the fic (eventually doodler-related stuff starts to happen *at* the club, so the other kiddads wind up there anyways), Nicky gives Lark a punch right in the nose before storming off! Afterwards on the way home Lark asks Sparrow if he has any idea what that was about, Sparrow has no clue, and Lark concludes that he "probably did something to deserve it".

*Otherwise* (also near the end of the fic, when all the doodler stuff has been dealt with), Sparrow says to Grant that this might be the only night of his life since the forgotten realms that he's felt normal, even if it was just for a little while, and that he looks forward to when the world is fixed and his kid(s) get to have nights like this, in response to which Grant looks Sparrow dead in the eyes and tells him that things are never going to be normal again, ever (Grant definitely means well here but it kind of shocks the whimsy straight out of Sparrow haha). AND THAT'S WHEN SPARROW COMES UP WITH A NAME FOR NORMAL mhm as a wish, and kind of to spite Grant lol. I can't quite remember what I wanted to title this one, but I know it had "normal" somewhere in the name!
