So I've been unhappy about the lack of physical media these days (and, unrelated to Good Omens, mightily pissed off at streaming services), which made me decide if I want to have my favourite shows on my shelf, I will do it myself if I have to. And since Amazon still doesn't look like it plans to sell me a nice DVD or Bluray set for season two, I went and did it my bloody self. I own a DVD writer and a printer and nobody can stop me.
Had lots of fun playing around designing sleeves, labels and on-screen menus. Behold my beautiful creations!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used some of the very cool official posters for the covers. I loved the one that became my front cover; there's so much to see on it. (Also has this super handy scroll bit at the bottom where one only had to remove some Amazon logos to have space for labeling!)
Splurged on a couple of sheets of glossy photo paper to print the sleeves on. You wouldn't believe how much of a difference good paper makes for printout quality. The photos don't do them justice. The black is really black, the colours have great depth. I sat here giggling gleefully when these came out of the printer.
Tumblr media
Here's the spines, sitting next to my season one Bluray (which I was happy to buy, hey Amazon please sell me stuff, you love selling things, I will buy things if you sell me things!) and my other self-made fave-show-on-shelf-putting-project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I do something, I do it properly. Disc labels with pictures on them!
Designing them was a blast; printing them was a fucking nightmare. I had a few pages of premade disc labels (sticker paper with perforated circles of the right sizes, so no cutting, yay). Already printing the sleeves took a good amount of test prints and template tweaking; I don't know why printing exactly to scale is still so difficult in 2024. I think Crowley was involved in designing printers. The things are definitely haunted. Printing a rectangle to scale? Difficult, but okay. Printing two circles to scale, in the exact correct position? Oh god I cursed so much. But look at them, aren't they beautiful? Definitely worth all the sweat and tears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Menu screens! (Had a video of the first disc menu, mostly to show that it plays the Good Omens theme, but Tumblr hated it. Please imagine that all discs have this menu and that you can hear the theme playing while on the menu, thanks.)
DVDs fit 120 minutes of video, and I was super chuffed that I could get two episodes squeezed on one disc. So I have three discs with episodes, and an additional one with bonus stuff. Deleted scenes and VFX breakdowns with Muriel and Making Ofs. You know, the kind of things that are fun and cool about a box set for a show you like. Which I now have on my shelf. You gotta do everything yourself these days.

Sunny podcast is back after hiatus!
So many things were teased in this episode and we heard about some scenes that were never aired or featured on the DVDs!
Featuring...
Charlie on piano
Sun-damaged Glenn back from Hawaii
Complaining about 80s comedies, Three Amigos and Paramount+
Discussions about what works in film comedies from the '70s to early '00s and how sketches function differently
Brief talk of Mac's mommy issues
Episode chat
Premise of the episode came from Glenn watching "Intervention", a popular reality tv show at the time and discussing it in the writers' room, leading to Rob Rosell wondering what the difference between an intervention and a roast was
Gail the Snail was created as a pair with a brother Not Quite Right Robin, who was never introduced, as the Garbage Pail cousins in contrast to Dennis and Dee, the Cabbage Patch kids
Mary Lynn R was cast without an audition because she was a friend and she developed the character of Gail with rcg's notes in an unaired deleted scene shot opposite Frank at Guigino's before the funeral of Uncle Max
Nora Dunn who played Aunt Donna might have been unhappy when she came on set and realized how cheap and low-quality the show was
Marder and Rosell came up with all the insane quotes and concepts like nightcrawlers while writing this episode
Glenn and Charlie couldn't keep it together while filming the scene where Dennis writes Charlie's intervention letter to Frank but these outtakes didn't make it into the bloopers so we don't get to see
RCG were probably responsible for the idea that Dennis and Dee blame Gail the Snail "for making them salt her" (which is not a good feeling she's making them have)
They've previously mentioned the story of the reporter on location in Philly when Frank is doing his beer volcano bit, but in this ep they added that Danny got into an argument with her on live tv
Frank's volcano eruption was a nightmare for wardrobe and continuity because his beer gurgling was unscripted
[Talking about their shitty cameras] "We've destroyed our careers by presenting ourselves as clowns on videotape."
Season 16 teases
Confirmed that The Gang Goes Bowling was directed by Meg and shot in three days + one scene
It was a difficult shoot because of the number of side characters and continuity troubles during bowling, especially block shooting
There's a slow motion sequence in the episode which might have to be degraded to fit in with the rest of the show
Some colour grading/correction will have to be done on the s16 footage, which they usually never do, because they look red
Glenn was away for the first week of editing since he was at SXSW, sick and then on break in Hawaii, but he's back in now with his fresh pair of eyes
Charlie wants to add grain to the picture to dirty it up for the modern tvs and automotion plus
Return of a character from season 1 who fans have been asking about. Implied that the character was potentially dropped and hasn't appeared since season 1. Charlie's sister is the most obvious choice.
Other options include Mac's other gay cousin, any of the kids and teenagers from Abortion or Underage Drinking and Nikki Potnick, though she was mentioned again in season 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upcoming projects
Scott Marder and Rob Rosell are coming on for the S5E10 pod!
Glenn Howerton double feature on May 12 with Blackberry and Charlie's film Fool's Paradise.
Charlie only had Glenn in the movie until he did reshoots when he added a lot of Sunny cast. He offered Rob a role but he was busy. David Hornsby is also in it (not seen in the trailer).
IASIP season 16 is coming out in June.
In the meantime, RCG say to watch Succession and Tommy Boy.

Burn Notice extras stuff
I’ve been doing my third full watch of Burn Notice on the DVDs with all the extras*
Most of the deleted scenes were cut early during editing, and it shows. The audio’s terrible, the look of it isn’t polished. It’s also pretty obvious why they were cut. A lot of them just weren’t necessary, reiterating something already said elsewhere. Some of them were funny, but didn’t add anything to the story or the characters, and were cut for time.
And then we get to Army Of One, and the deleted scenes are broadcast quality. Look at what we lost! Backstory on Sam and Dixon that expands on a line earlier in the episode. Sam telling Fiona that Michael’s lucky to have her. It obviously killed somebody (presumably Matt Nix) to have to cut that material; they held on to it as long as they possibly could, until the brutal 42 minute network show run time couldn’t be avoided any more.
I love that Sam and Fiona scene. They communicate almost entirely in snark (and I am 100% there for the snark, obviously), which makes those rare moments when they’re actually genuine with each other incredibly sweet. Mostly, we get that side of them through Michael, because they’ll both tell things to Michael about each other that they would never directly say to each other. The development of their relationship over the years is one of the great things about the writing for this series.
One funny thing that comes out of the commentaries is that the cast and crew all interact that way too. Everyone who’s in the room spends 45 minutes taking the piss out of one another. You get serious analysis about the acting choices and writing/directing of the people who aren’t there.
Other interesting stuff coming out of the commentaries – Matt Nix talking in the commentary for Larry’s first episode about Larry as the anti-Sam, the two of them as opposing forces in the battle for Michael’s soul. That’s something that didn’t come out in the show until later. At the time they were doing that commentary, Larry’s second episode had already been written, so they knew something of where they were going with the character, but I’m left wondering how early that thought was in there? Did they realise how great a character Larry was going to be and that they were going to have to keep him when they were first writing him? Or only after they filmed and Tim Matheson did such an amazing job with him?
*Yes, I bought the DVDs even though it’s all on Hulu.
1. Physical media, it’s mine.
2. Residuals – I want the people who made the Crazy Brain-Eating Thing to have my money!
3. Extras, yay! I do wish there were more commentaries, but I also understand the schedule those kind of shows are made on, and yeah, there’s not much time for cast and crew to sit around and do those.

Overanalysing Analysis
Me, sitting at the desk, suit and tie, glasses on: Ladies and gentlemen, today I regret to inform you that I have been overanalizing something that doesn’t needs to be analized to begin with, I completely lost about 3 hours of my life rewatching the same footage over and over, in very bad quality as well, so I could bring you content, not high quality content, quality is sold separatedly as DLC, just content. And that is: The brilliance of the only good parts of Cars 2, The race scenes.
So you better click out of this post right now else you’ll be reading the ramblings of a madman, don’t say I didn’t warned you.
Also, the less quality screenshots belong to the few footage of the Cars 2 DVD, that includes the deleted scenes of the movie.
Tumblr media
First of all, the mockup SPEED Network titles and presentation, which resembles the official intro sequence of all FIA championship races, also the fact that they are using 3 official motorsport commentators.
Tumblr media
They kept the logo on as the camera goes around as if this was the live feed from any race day. Normally this type of thing is done on the grid as these are the moments that preface the formation lap on any discipline, but I can see why they kept it inside the pits, else the pre-race chatter and the warmup wouldn’t be noticeable, also to cut production time, as pre-formation lap preparations tend to look like this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A bunch of equipment, umbrellas, engineers, media and overall clutter all behind the SC, considering that in Cars everyone is a car (duh, is in the name), this wouldn’ve been hell to fit in without making a random ass huge main straight, or making everyone be so awkwardly positioned on the grid.
Then we get the cars themselves
Tumblr media
Francesco, obviously being a Formula 1 car, according to my guess (Source: trust me bro) being a hybrid between the F2004 and the F248 (2006 season), his swaying on the heating is minimal, slow reduced speed and pace on the out so the engine, electronics and brakes won’t overheat.
Tumblr media
The GT cars (I actually have no idea who that is supposed to be), strong swaying and quick revving to keep the engine on the mark, as those cars, although specially fitted for racing, are still commercially available cars that you can buy, so keeping perfect temperatures and being “on the zone” at all times is not their main purpose unlike the LMP1, 2 and Formula cars
Tumblr media
Next we have “Raoul ÇaRoule“, or, as I like to call him, offbrand Sebastien Loeb, because that’s totally who he is supposed to be, the french flag and the “rally champion” title give it off, considering he is still the one with the most titles in the WRC, which in the Cars universe is called the GRC but for just a name usage and some vague likeness, it just wasn’t worth the money, which is honestly an understandable choice; notice how his swaying is the most pronounced, and his rev periods are longer than anyone else’s, and that’s on point with rally cars, they are high torque high accleeration cars with a very open differential and a loose steering to allow for easy corrections and compensation without overdoing it, as they usually race on ice, dirt and other slippery surfaces that would make precise track-like steering a one way ticket into a tree.
Tumblr media
A deleted shot, see the ammount of detail on that Vanquish GT.
Tumblr media
Yes, that’s motherfucking Lewis Hamilton, portrayed as none other than a McLaren, as that’s the team he was racing for in 2011.
Tumblr media
They even included a DMT/WTC car! And it seems to be a Mercedes CLK.
Tumblr media
This shot is just beautiful, I’ll allow my suspension of disbelief to simply take the wheel here as those boxes are too close together and right next to each other, but who cares, the painted-over asphalt like the one in street circuits, the small “belly” at the bottom that McQueen’s tires get as his car-type is on the quite heavy side, the stiffness of Francesco’s tires with the toe in camber at the front wheels, the different tide width for each car, this show is just amazing.
Tumblr media
A small shot that we get from McQueen’s POV, you can see the heat thing where it becomes blurry, you can see the details on that (obviously not licensed) LMP1 car with all the details on it, the classic Aston Martin GT body 3 places ahead of McQueen is also a lovely sight to see, with the high wing as they tend to have on GT Competitions.
Tumblr media
The starting sequence is a pale where I can see that they put a lot of work and detail on, the rally car and the TOCA cars simply taking off as soon as the lights get green while the GT cars like the Corvette and the Aston Martin taking a bit longer, moving off the grid slower
Tumblr media
But as soon as they move forward, they build speed insanely fast, also the huge detail of the Corvette’s bad start as he gets stuck on the first gear and can’t advance until a few seconds later, when he has the McLaren behind him already taking an overtaking line on the left. And don’t forget the AM’s diffusor almost touching the ground.
Tumblr media
Another great shot, you can see all of their eyes looking to the left, where the distance to corner indicators are on, everybody looking for their insividual braking point, cars with slower speed but higher acceleration stay on the middle while high aero cars try to go for the inside like the LMP1 as it can brake faster than any other, or Francesco going for the outside so he can do the corner while braking the less, relying entirely on his aero.
Tumblr media
Although out of focus, time to appreciate the detail of the back of Francesco, that’s some high detail modelling right there, you can see most of the components and how most of the car is actually empty underneath, you can even see how the suspension moves up and down as he goes thru the track, if I were to be picky the only thing he is missing is the recovery light at the bottom.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A million different lines all based on the specific car taking the turn, TOCA cars going for the inside at all cost so they can accelerate quicker, GT cars preferring a more open line to use the entire width of the track to be less aggressive on the tires as they weight a hell of a lot more.
Now the boxes are also a delight to see
Tumblr media
“Gorvette” the GT Corvette gets an F150 (another Ford manufactured car) as its engineer.
Tumblr media
A french car, the Citroën DS for the french offbrand Loeb.
Tumblr media
A japanese car for the Japanese LMP1 car.
Tumblr media
Francesco gets a 250GT Convertible, of course it is another Ferrari, lol
And you can see it on the back of the shot, the Spaniard racer gets a SEAT (possibly a SEAT Leon) as his engineer.
Tumblr media
First of all, great lighting and great detail on the track; second, everyone but the rally car is racing on the wrong line, trying to take the path that is the straightest and with the least elevation changes, yet the rally one is the only one that takes the right one, the side with the most camber to help reduce the speed coming into the corner without having to touch too much of the brakes, an enviromental lift and coast if you must, and at the same time it takes advantage of his higher suspension rebound as he has less of a cahnce of bottoming out, unlike literally all the other cars.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OMG Is this Dirt 6?
That’s a pretty good shot right there, a classic “Left 4 DC Tightens, Right 4 Cut Opens”
Tumblr media
Those red brakes, THOSE RED BRAKES, Beautiful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, suspension of disbelief taking the wheel because that shot was amazing, but McQueen got the plot armor, do that big of a jump and see how you faceplant the dirt and roll over.
But at the same time, great how the other car is doing it the way it should be done, and even in the next shot you see how it has gained on McQueen by doing that.
Tumblr media
The dirt on his body. The sense of speed of the scene. The way the sound echoes. I know this is “average japanese tunnel” but this whole sequence gives me “Monaco Tunnel section” vibes. If only this movie was as great as these shots
Tumblr media
Another great backshot, nothing else to say.
Tumblr media
Another deleted shot, this is what I meant by Monaco vibes, seeing his wheel so close to the wall and have the sound reflect that by echoing even louder is just great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Absolute classic TV coverage angle, simply great.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Turn 13 Singapore my beloved, the section is longer than it is IRL and for obvious licensing issues it doesn’t has the metal arch that oversees the straight between 11 and 12, but it even has the small kink right that is turn 12 into the hairpin of Turn 13 just like in the real track
Tumblr media
Even on a movie, Lewis is an asshole, brake-switching lanes and not allowing anyone to race on his side of the track, very IC representation of him (and this was in 2011 mind you, even before we saw more his.. interesting... interpretation of the F1 rules, was this some next level foreshadowing?)
Tumblr media
Singapore Sling my beloved, I miss you (actually I don’t, I hope you never come back).
Notice how McQueen doesn’t even blinks until he is out of the section, and how every driver that comes moves their eyes from apex to apex
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More Sling pics with moving eyes, I love it, also, look at the tyre marks, so beautiful, also that Vanquish nose, so beautiful x2, and lets not forget Loeb in the back doing the most open turns known to man (car?) so he doesn’t has to press the brakes and can just high-rev the entire section like in RXC.
Tumblr media
Look at the muddy teardrop, look at the exhaust gas, look at the everything. I’ll never have enough of these low angle sideshots in any Cars movie. Also, mandatory Wangan mention.
Tumblr media
You guys really pushing the suspension of disbelief here lol, no way in hell that a NASCAR (insert laugh emoji) car is able to hold back and gain from two prototype racers and and F1 car. Although Francesco is really pushing forward in that shot, but still.
But.
I don’t care, still a great shot, nice to see how much depth and detail is actually there.
Tumblr media
He readies it and...
Tumblr media
Amazing, as it should be, right on the tail, getting all the reduced drag possible before pushing out into clean air and passing the car like its standing.
Tumblr media
Forget what I said earlier, no I am not going all the way up to correct it, if you made it all the way down here you can just pretend that I did, he has the recovery light, and is so pretty, the wing is so on spot, everything really, look at the dirst from earlier, how it splashes back, look at the closeness to the ground, everything is there, absolutely everything.
It’s such a shame that we really only have 1 full race, and the racen is constantly being cut out by some decaf 007 bs that nobody actually cared about; the whole plot of “multinational racing event that is just a big conspiration” was great as it was, because the sport has had lots and lots of those, just the name “Briatore” should be enough to make like 3 movies out of that, and that’s leaving out the lesser known but equally interesting scandals like Multi 21, and the sport defining moments like Jules’ incident (RIP), both the FIA and the FIM have enough drama by themselves to make a movie with this plot interesting enough with just that, racing, cars doing car things like the first movie (Even tho the first one is based off the year-round april’s fools joke known as NASCAR), zero need for Mater to be turnt into a James Bond LARPer

Something I wish I had known earlier
I started having favourite characters and therefore becoming part of a fandom at the age about 4/5.
I started writing stories at the age about 9/10.
I started collection pictures of my favourite characters/movie stills at the age about 13/14.
I started making and editing videos about my favourite characters also at the age about 13/14.
I started out poorly. The first things I wrote were nothing but childish scrabbles about nonsense stuff my twisted 10 year old brain came up with. Most of my scrabbles from the past cringe me so out that most of them have been destroyed and thrown away (but my mum saved like my first scrabble I did in a booklet I made for her) By the age of 14 I saw Frozen for the first time and I wanted to write a story about a character like Elsa ever since. I made like 1,000 attempts (That is by the way my longest ongoing project).
Also with the movie stills. The first movie stills had the pause sign from the DVD player on it, the display structure fully visable because they were (not well taken) shots of the DVD player screen (Screenshots in their raw original meaning). They were taken by a digital camera from like 2003 with a tiny screen and a poor quality. Still I was finally able to capture my favourite characters, looking at their photos. They meant everything to me. I literally had an entire album filled with them.
Same for the videos. The first one was also shot from the DVD player with my Nintendo 3DS. Then tried putting music under it, timing it to the video (still couldn't put music under the video as it's sound, I had to start the video on the 3DS and play the music on the DVD player, also 3DS videos are silent without sound). That's how I started video editing.
Then, with the 3DS I also started photo editing, like putting a sparkle brush on it.
And still I was trying to improve my works. Did I watch Youtube tutorials? Not til this very day. Everything I do today is "handcrafted", if you want to call it that way and all the quality you see is coming from 10-14 year long journey of doing it. Literally learning by doing. You don't know how many times I have spent on recording movie scenes to get stills like this:
Tumblr media
And often, even to this day, I decide to delete thousands of stills for the dullest reasons only to remake them months later (although I think it's time now to set up something lasting and I'm working on that). There is something someone told me in my youth:
"Being creative means you make 95% shit and 5% real good stuff. But you have to make that 95% shit to make the 5% good stuff".
The person was actually talking about dancing positions spefically because that was the task at this moment but still the message is universal so I changed the quote a bit.
So, you see, the things I do today have been there in my life for a very long time in my life. Basically my entire life, if you consider how young I was when I started having favourite characters and writing.
But the thing is, it took me a very, very long time to realize these are my hobbies. You know, for a long time, my answer to the question "what are your hobbies/interests?" was like "Reading... baking*... watching movies" because I was brainwashed by those kids whose answers were "Horseback riding! Ballet! Playing the (insert ibstrument here)!"
Watching movies wasn't considered a real hobby by my teacher in ninth grade (she literally said it would make us look lazy if we put "watching movies" as a hobby in our job application) so I felt like I had no hobbies. I was insecure about who I was. You know that was that time when the question "what are your hobbies/interests?" was a frequently asked question. I was 16-17 years old.
Until one magical day I realized that it was all there. Right before me. Ever since the description of my hobbies/interests always says to this day: "telling stories, writing texts, editing videos and photos, reading, acting, watching movies and shows."
Don't let anyone tell you your hobbies aren't hobbies. If you like doing something and you enjoy to do it in your free time it's your HOBBY.
*baking was considered one of my hobbies because I really enjoyed it at school and I was better at baking then at cooking although my cooking teacher in the last for 4 years of school was like HELL but that's a whole different story.

I’m curious what your cc folder looks like. In your build buy folder can you list 20 creators? If so who? Do you ever purge old build buy cc? Is there one particular creator you always look for updates on new cc? What’s your absolute favorite type of build buy cc ie: plants, books, sculptures, kitchen clutter, wall art etc. last question… are you maxis match or mix and do you have any alpha items you can not live without?
Hey @therichantsim and thanks a loooot for these asks ♥ Sorry it took a while to answer it but I tried my best to complete every section ^^
As my mods folder is pure chaos (I never organized it ...), and around 40gb imagine the time it took me ^^"
Can you list 20 creators ? Who ?
@cross-design; @anvilesi;@wirefiish; @sg5150; @radioactivedotcom @peacemaker-ic; @aroundthesims ;@notegain ;pilarambientes @mimoto-sims ;Chisami ; FriendsMR; @veranka-s4cc; MXIMS ; iyaS; [W]; @luumia
here's already 17. I have a lot of "one cc from creator", especially during Simblreen season and, as you can see, I can't find their proper blog (so sorry T_T) for most of them. I REALLY should clean and organize that mod folder one day ...
Do you ever purge ?
Well, nope but I should. I do it only when I found out that a creator is manipulating us and its files infected of viruses and all, I delete everything from a creator like these.
Is there one particular creator you always look for updates on the new cc ?
Sadly, not for buy/builds as I tend to not follow those kind of creators anymore. I still follow some of them but rarely download new buy/build because soooo many items I have/had and used, don't work after some update and it's sometimes never updated or it's super hard to find the original blog you got the cc from the first place
I do download most of @cross-design, @anvilesi, @wirefiish and @aroundthesims because it's pure quality and most of the time, super hyper usefull for stories :)
I do have some favourites creators I download everything from but it's mostly CAS thing.
Favourite kind of items ?
I really love plants and clutters of any kind, everything that can help me create the specific room I need for a specific character/scene. You people create so many amazing items everytime it's really hard to choose a favourite. Books, DVD and everything that add some realism and real life best sellers are also always welcome. As I said above, I tend to not download anything else otherwise it could break fast after using it for a major scene and there's nothing worst to redecorate a room you spent hours on because the cc you used broke ^^" At least with clutters and plants, it's just a detail I can easily switch most of the time.
Alpha, Maxis Mix or Maxis Match ?
I'm mostly Maxis Match when I play but I have a lot of alpha items I cherrish because they're super detailed and look awesome in stories.
Favourite alpha items ?
There's a lot ^^ It's mostly clutters that specifically fit some characters or situations. For instance I have some guns that fit William, Destiny's dad. For Destiny it's the suitcase full of spikes, for Leïla it's an old magical book, Hiro as a manga statue in his room, Renji's coffin ... I've also planned to turn some CAS items into clutter/accessories because I will need some specific ones for DH3 ...
I hope this is completed enough, I'm so sorry I couldn't add all the links but always feel free to check my likes and following page to discover a lot of simblr wonders :)

Rediscovering the Magic of Old DVD Movies: Timeless Classics Worth Watching
In the fast-paced world of ever-evolving technology and streaming services, it's easy to forget the charm of old DVD movies. While the convenience of online platforms has made accessing the latest releases a breeze, there's something incredibly special about the timeless classics that reside in our DVD collections. These dusty old discs hold not only cherished memories but also stories that continue to captivate audiences. Let's explore why old DVD movies remain a treasure trove of entertainment and why they are worth revisiting.
Nostalgia Unleashed: One of the most significant appeals of old DVD movies is the sheer nostalgia they evoke. Whether it's the first movie you watched in a theater or a film that holds a special place in your heart, the act of holding a physical disc can transport you back in time. The tactile experience of selecting a DVD, popping it into the player, and watching the opening credits on a television screen is a ritual that many remember fondly.
Quality and Resolution: While streaming platforms have certainly improved their quality over the years, old DVD movies have their own unique charm. The video and audio quality of DVDs can often surpass streaming options. The physical format allows for higher resolution and superior sound, enhancing the overall viewing experience. For those who appreciate the details in filmmaking, old DVDs offer an unrivaled visual and auditory treat.
Special Features: Old DVD movies often come with a treasure trove of special features. From director's commentaries and behind-the-scenes documentaries to deleted scenes and blooper reels, these bonus materials provide a deeper insight into the creative process behind the films. Exploring these extras can be a rewarding experience, shedding light on the filmmaking journey and allowing fans to connect with their favorite movies on a whole new level.
Collector's Value: As technology evolves, physical DVDs are becoming a collector's item. Many enthusiasts appreciate the aesthetic appeal of DVD covers, the collectible packaging, and the thrill of finding rare editions or limited releases. Owning a collection of old DVD movies can be a hobby in itself, and the discs themselves often hold value for collectors.
Hidden Gems: While streaming platforms often prioritize the latest blockbusters, old DVD movies offer a chance to discover hidden gems that may have been overlooked. Classic films, foreign cinema, and independent productions that aren't readily available on streaming platforms can be found in the depths of your DVD collection. Revisiting these films or sharing them with friends and family can lead to delightful surprises and a broader cinematic experience.
Physical Connection: In a world dominated by digital interactions, there's something uniquely satisfying about holding a physical DVD case, flipping through the menu, and placing the disc into the player. It's a tangible connection to the art of storytelling that transcends the digital realm. Watching an old DVD movie can be a more immersive experience, where you can focus on the film without being distracted by notifications or buffering issues.
Economical Option: Old DVD movies are often an economical choice for movie enthusiasts. You can find them at thrift stores, garage sales, or online marketplaces for a fraction of the cost of a streaming subscription. Collecting classic movies on DVD can be an affordable way to build an impressive library of cinematic masterpieces.

BEHIND THE SCENES JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK MOVIE
BEHIND THE SCENES JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK TV
The audio, video, and special features are very good bordering on great.
BEHIND THE SCENES JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK MOVIE
Not only is the film stupidly funny (dubbed “The Muppet Movie on Crack” by Kevin Smith), the DVD presentation is fabulous. If you want to laugh at some vulgarity, and/or want to re-live the days of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, you NEED to own this disc. To access this scary feature (18+ only please… hehehe), press the up arrow when you are in Jason Mewes bio. Also be warned… there is an Easter egg to avoid. All of these goodies are presented very nicely through very simple but animated and scored menus.

This DVD also includes music videos, storyboards, many trailers and TV spots, DVD-ROM features, and a feature on Morris Day and the Time. You can also check out the “secret stash” to see many combined clips from the film. You will laugh while you learn a little about the film and the antics that take place behind the scenes. The making-of featurette and the Comedy Central feature are both very funny and give you a behind the scenes look at Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. Also, be sure to check out the gag reel, which will make you chuckle at mistakes made by the cast. Due to time constraints, these clips were shaved down or cut from the film. The 90+ minutes of deleted and extended scenes, all this the aforementioned introductions, are mostly very funny and worth of this film. These two are so funny, and they play off of each other like no others. Disc two is where the most fun is packaged…Īlmost as entertaining as the deleted scenes themselves were the introductions to these scenes by Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. Disc one contains the basics such as sneak peeks, audio & video options, scene access, and a wonderful commentary featuring filmmaker Kevin Smith, producer Scott Mosier, and co-star Jason Mewes. It is crazy the amount of special features jammed packed into this 2-Disc set. It is very nice to see a quality transfer for another quality (if you can call it that) Kevin Smith film. Some edge enhancements are noticeable at times, but nothing too distracting. The colors and darks are both very sharp and clear, and the 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer is as clean as can be expected on DVD. This could be the best looking Kevin Smith film on DVD yet. You will also notice a very pronounced bass presence in this mix that is quite rare for comedies on DVD. The surrounds are used effectively to convey the effects and the score, the vocals are sharp and clear, and the soundstage is quite full. It is very rare to see a comedy (especially a stupidly funny film such as this) receive a decent audio treatment. to Southern California.” – BVHEĬonsidering the type of film this is, the audio here was very good. Their adventure attracts a crazy cast of characters that create laughs from New Jersey all the way across the U.S. In JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, when they learn that t… ere’s a film being made in Hollywood based on themselves, Jay and Silent Bob set off to make their fortunes in the movies. “First seen in Kevin Smith’s breakthrough film “Clerks,” Jay and Silent Bob have continued their adventures in both live-action movies and animated television shows. Oh well, at least we now have one “Strikes Back” on DVD, and it is a dandy DVD release. It is about damn time that The Empire Strikes Back made it to DVD… oh wait this is Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, not The Empire Strikes Back (Damn it).
