talking entirely character wise. do you think today was a bit of a wake up call for bad. do you think he heard red screaming out of their minds begging for toxic gas and thought about how they’ve lost their minds just a little bit. do you think that when he was given an immediate no when he asked where the red egg was to help them defend he understood how deep of a rift he created. do you think as he sat there silent while the rest of red cheered at killing the egg statue, he wondered if he could have pushed them a little too far. do you think that maybe, just maybe, with the red sun beating down on him in that desert, the gas mask team cheering and dancing, he felt for a single moment the consequences of his actions? that maybe, if he hadn’t started out so hostile with extreme tactics, if he hadn’t been so bloodthirsty and ruthless, if he had had just a little bit of hesitation, that his own attempts at diplomacy would have gone over better? that the rest of the teams would have listened? that red would have trusted his judgement on the egg statues, or at the very least respected him enough to honor an agreement? do you think he realizes that burning his bridges may have fucked him over?

oh no! never! he's not the violent type At All - with aus, i like to adhere to canon as much as possible, and from what i can gather... Wally is quite the pacifist!

so in this au, he's occasionally violent, but only by Necessity. out of a need to protect his friends. he doesn't enjoy it in the least, and in the early stages of the timeline, he himself got hurt quite a bit due to his hesitance to fight back / inherently peaceful nature. it takes him many years to get to the point where he attacks perceived threats on sight. it doesn't come naturally to him, and he Never looks forward to it - even when he's used to it. he avoids conflict when he can & does his best to prevent it

#and even then he attacks out of fear and again! a desire to protect his friends from All harm! #he'd Hesitate to let someone else take the arm #or straight up Won't Let Go #but he'd never snap or lash out #especially not at his beloved neighbors.... #he's very gentle with them. usually #sometimes he can get a little (unintentionally) harsh when the danger level is heightened #but even that is like a 'i need to keep them safe & undamaged no matter what' #he gets stressed and scared and as a result is less Careful #like how when julie wakes up wally fully tackles her to the ground to keep her from alerting nearby threats #rambles from the bog #wh lights out au #and also wally has his Routine #and during much of it he leaves the arm at 'hq' to keep it safe #its something for him to find comfort in when he's not Doing Things #so actually i think he'd be fine handing it over to... say... Y8 Thoughts I Guess 🤔

I keep pacing the kitchen while repeating the same things in my head over and over again so here is my thought vomit. Long vent post incoming

• Really concerned about how likely it is that we’ll only see the Jimas interact with Kiryu one or two times in a similar manner to 6. It’ll feel even worse this time for me considering Kiryu has cancer. It’ll also be a grievance for me given something I’ve complained about a lot. How weird they are about Kiryu and Majima’s relationship. It feels like ever since the ending of 3, they haven’t allowed them much of any interaction while simultaneously making a point that they’re close to each other even with the distance and it throws me for a loop every time. It’s made even more frustrating that their social medias have no problem posting about them (especially from Majima’s angle) as though they’re an actual ship. Plus, recently sharing blatant Kazumaji art on stream. If they keep doing that after this game I’m going to catapult myself to the sun. Obviously, I never expected the ship to actually happen. All I want is for their bizzaro relationship to have some sort of proper conclusion, but I have zero hope of that. It just makes no sense to keep making them out to be besties of some sort and then not allowing any follow through on that. Hell, they were weird in Ishin, too. It’s just SUCH a strange thing to do so often.

•At this point, it feels like the Jimas are only together because no one knows what else to do with them so they just end up together for years and years. My issue here is that it puts all of them on the back burner even though there’s still stuff missing about them. Like the biggest one being that we never get to see the real Daigo. They tell us about him a lot, but we never get to see him. RGGO of course bridges this gap. It’s just disappointing to know that’ll only ever exist there.

•If Mine is back (Yokoyama talked like the only thing stopping him from that was his voice actor), would he interact with Daigo? He was such a core part of his character, and it’d be interesting if they did see each other again. I would of course like it if Mine got to tell Daigo that he loved him straight to his face even though I’m more than certain they’d never do that.

•The Ichiban and Saeko proposal and all that still has me on edge. I do N O T know what all that’s about. Yokoyama claimed the game isn’t romantic, but he’s been on a kick lately with saying one thing and the exact opposite happening so I’m feeling pretty hesitant to believe him. I admittedly have a very hard time with media that contains a prominent pairing that I do not care about, but the plot keeps pushing in my face. Like with the second Kiryu saga game. To expand on Ichiban and Saeko, I mean that in 7, there’s nothing to show they have anything romantically going on despite the player’s ability to choose to date her or any other lady. I made sure to date nobody in my playthrough since I don’t care about that kind of stuff personally. They do, however, keep teasing Saeko and Nanba in a subtle way that really surprised me. I did find it interesting since visually they’re a really unexpected pairing and a possible romance that doesn’t involve the lead character seems pretty rare. RGG also typically isn’t that good at writing romantic notes so it was another surprise for me. All in all, this is just a personal issue I have pretty often with romance in media.

I know the game is still months away, and I’m not jumping to any conclusions. Just voicing a few concerns and one thing that’s sort of me hoping for something. It’s going to be a long wait to have all my questions answered 💀

#atla #azula #this is about zuko & azula's finale agni kai. while i adore it + it's such a beautiful fight... #i saw a poll about who would've won if katara hadn't been there; and most people were saying it wouldve been zuko #but to me zuko would've lost not because azula wasn't in her right mind but because he wouldve had restraint and she wouldnt #restraint in the sense of... she's still his SISTER so he's aiming not to maim or kill; unlike azula who in that moment has no qualms abt— #—inflicting lethal injuries on anyone present. and it just got me thinking about how we were robbed of their sibling relship #a more nuanced sibling relship at least. like without katara there would we have seen zuko hesitate before dealing a winning blow #would he have seen his little sister who their family failed just as much as they failed him? #because even iroh says at some point that “[azula] is crazy & needs to go down” like... sir that is your niece #idk #i wish we could've gotten a zuko who not only fears envies pities and opposes azula; but also loves her in some way #they're constantly pit against each other and i wonder if the younger idealistic compassionate zuko wouldve been protective of her #up until his banishment; then a once loving relationship (if strained) becomes so horrifically complicated #like the narrative spent way more time establishing azula as a terrible manipulative person (which she is) but also glossing over the fact— #—that she's a child. she wasn't born evil & the writing does not condemn ozai at all for his failure in raising her #the writing clearly shows how he fucked up with zuko but not how he fucked up with azula #which is a missed opportunity for zuko to empathize with her. they were both kids under the same abuse; just pushed in opposite directions

Something bittersweet I didn't take strong note of on my first playthrough was in the VERY beginning, when David is attacking Javi on the front lawn, no matter what Gabe (10 y/o) lingers on the steps even after David tells him to go back inside and looks cautiously over to Javi (who at this point he really doesn't know all that well) to get additional confirmation. He only goes back in when Javi tells him that he's fine -- and he listens to Javi but hesitates again, unsure if his uncle is actually okay. He knows better. David repeats, "Go inside".

Which really makes me wonder what David's done to make his son who is FIERCELY loyal to him hesitate. That right from the get-go shows us that Gabe isn't cruel like his father and has trouble believing the harsh things David has said to him about his uncle. If Gabe agreed that Javi was worthless I doubt he would've been worried about him at all and wouldn't've come out calling for Javi.

#original post #listen listen please understand that im not saying bill is obsessed with ford in Any kind of traditional relationship sense #im saying he is obsessed with ford the same way someone sees a weird little bug crawling around in their backyard and goes 'wow huh neat!' #he is interested in ford because he is very entertained by him and has fun spending time with him #he turns him into a golden statue in order to Personally Taunt Him because no other human has ever made a gun specifically to kill him with #because no other human has ever survived for 30 years in the multiverse before #because no other human has ever successfully installed a metal plate in their head to keep him out of them before. #ford is unpredictable and funny and cute in the adorable sense of 'cute' sometimes #he is Endeared by Ford. *That's* it *thats* the term. #He would hate to see ford die because then he'd never be able to watch fords antics and find out what his funky little human is doing next #but he would also love to see ford die because it would make ford really mad and bill thinks its really funny when hes angry #i dont know if i can think of a scenario where bill would die for ford. but ford wouldve died for bill prebetrayal #tbh maybe bill *does* genuinely believe it deep down when he says ford is special and better than other humans. #he is the only human to ever Swiftly Eagerly and Competently accomplish bills one and only dream of having a portal that he can come through #maybe bill is even Impressed by ford deep down in spite of his very very low capacity for how impressed he can be by any human #like. the ways he is interested in ford are Purely ways that entertain and interest bill #it is 100% Selfish Fascination #the same way ford is fascinated with the creatures of gravity falls but would not hesitate to put any of them in a cage!! #and there are plenty of magic creatures ford would not hesitate to kill if he felt it was necessary #*thats* how bill feels about ford. fascinated and endlessly eager to find out how fords funky lil mind ticks #but also sees him as ultimately disposable and just-a-puny-human #but the thing is. ford kinda *agrees* with bill on this. at the very least he does prebetrayal. #he is like 'wow bill is way cooler and smarter and is a higher being than any human will ever be but he still wants to hang out!!!' #the thing he was angry about was the fact that bill was lying to him about his motives and was trying to end the world. #i honestly think if it wasnt for the shitty motives and the lying. ford would hardly be upset at All about bill 'just using him' #like.... yeah the realization would suck because bill lied that he was there to inspire ford in general and not just to build a portal. #but also deep down. it seems like common sense that an eldritch interdimensional being doesnt reach out to mere humans just for Funsies #note: this is an early draft and my thoughts have changed in some ways since the time i wrote these tags

whatever happened to the quiet no dialogue scenes like that in chapter 3 where din doesnt utter a word but we get to see his thought process on screen as he changes his mind and decides to go save grogu. whatever happened to the little show dont tell scenes like those. screaming into my pillow
