Hey Vee!! 8, 17, 22, and 26 for the HBO War fandom positivity ask game please 💙☺️
Hi Lou my beloved!! Thank you for visiting my askbox. I'm still listening to your song suggestion for me and I’m vibing so hard right now. Totally motivated to answer these questions 🙌🏻
8 - your fav hbowar content you've ever made? This one, because I tried something new with this for the first time. It’s including my favorite man Chuck Grant and I really like the vibe. And my most recent one, because I had so much fun working with @footprintsinthesxnd on this collaboration. We really thought up a wonderful concept. Including friendship and our amazing bob men. Im really happy with how it turned out
17 - your fav fanwork about an underrated character? My man Chuck Grant is an underrated character. So I will take this opportunity to talk some more about him. Here are some of my favourite stories for him. I love this story and it got me thinking about the Chuck moodboard I mentioned in the question above. This is the story that I love coming back to, because it was the first thing I ever read about Chuck Grant.
22 - what quotes from the show you would assign to your mutuals? Omg I’m so bad at this. You got me with this one. I’m trying my best. Please don’t ask me why I’m associating these with my mutuals. I think I did most of them just for fun and to get you guys to laugh a bit. Im so sorry if I didn’t include everyone. Again I’m so bad at this and I have so many amazing mutuals. So have this:
All my mutuals - Men, it’s been a long war, it’s been a tough war. You’ve fought bravely, proudly for your country. You’re a special group. You’ve found in one another a bond, that exists only in combat, among brothers. You’ve shared foxholes, held each other in dire moments. You’ve seen death and suffered together. I’m proud to have served with each and every one of you. You all deserve long and happy lives in peace.
@luckynumber4 - We lucky few, we band of brothers, for he who sheds his blood with me today shall be my brother.
@xxluckystrike - Don't do anything stupid? Who the hell is he talking to? A bunch of morons who volunteered to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Can you get any more stupid than that?
@footprintsinthesxnd - Oh Lord, grant that I shall never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, or to be loved as to love with all my heart.
@mutantmanifesto - I have every confidence in my scrounging abilities, and I have a case of Vat 69 hidden in your footlocker.
@malarkgirlypop - He shoulda shot Hinkel in the ass. Hey, Hinkel-Vinkel, eat ze armpit, huh?
@ronsparky - Hell, it was you, First Sergeant.
@panzershrike-pretz - Where you keeping the brass knuckles? I could use some brass knuckles.
@next-autopsy - Where are your boots? In Washington, up General Taylor's ass.
@whollyjoly - Hey, Sarge, ya think I overdid it on the cover for my foxhole?
@georgieluz - Yeah, now that you mention it. Except, of course, there's no snow, we got warm grub in our bellies, and the trees aren't fucking exploding from Kraut artillery, but yeah… Frank… other than that, it's a lot like Bastogne.
@iceman-kazansky - Point is, it don’t matter where we go. Once we get into combat, the only person you can trust is yourself and the fella next to you.
@holdingforgeneralhugs - It's called "wounded," Peanut. "Injured" is when you fall out of a tree or something.
@mads-weasley - I don't know whether to slap you, kiss you, or salute you. I told these scallywags you was okay.
@blvestxr - I'm guessing they were Hitler's photo albums, sir. Sure had a lot of pictures of him in it. So, you looked at 'em, but you didn't take 'em? That's right, sir.
26 - what meme do you associate with each of your mutuals? Can I like just reblog @panzershrike-pretz post about this? Like it can’t get any more accurate than that. Please don’t take any of this seriously. I am just joking around or am I

some media i have consumed this summer that has influenced me and left marks on my life in deep and profound ways (a very long stream of consiousness list of reccomendations for people to read/watch/listen to that i do not feel sorry for)
STONE BUTCH BLUES BY LESLIE FEINBERG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every queer person should read this book but especially butches, trans mascs, afabs, and wlw. lots of people are not big readers and i understand but my friends who have read this have all read like the first page and been absolutely sucked into it because it's incredible. for how intense and thoughtful it is it also isn't a difficult read, language is very understandable and it's not very long, i read it all in a few hours. also it's free online because leslie feinberg is the sweetest kindest parent to us all. remember her as a revolutionary communist. https://lesliefeinberg.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Stone-Butch-Blues-by-Leslie-Feinberg.pdf
Just Kids by Patti Smith is such a beautiful story and it feels like such a good book for any artist to read. i feel a little like the odd one out among my artist friends because my creative process is very different from theirs as a graphic designer and i don't create the same kind of art they do. it makes me feel like i'm falling behind in some ways, like i'm not as much of an artist as they are. it's something i've been thinking about a lot this summer, but this book kind of soothed me. maybe it's because smith kind of has a bit of an outsider quality, she was a poet and an artist before a musician or a singer, but she still had her place with some of the most skilled rock musicians of the time. reading books about musicians and artists really changes they way i interpret their work and listening to the album horses was so incredible after reading just kids.
hesitating to list Into the Wild by John Krakauer because i think chris mccandless is kind of a dipshit, but it still made me think a lot about free will and the earth and how we interact with the environment we live in. i had a lot of fun walking around my town and reading this book, i went on this epic walk to some places i'd never been before on foot while reading from this paperback. it gave me a bit of a chuckle sometimes because while i was reading it my partner told me how his mom thinks he should never go into the woods and how nature is scary. i also tend to think of it every time i am wading into a lake or a pond or river, the moment when i'm up to my waist and about to dive the rest of the way in.
Witness This! is an album by my friend's band, Tall Travis, and it totally blew my mind. they are a vermont/massachusetts based folk punk band, and i think they are so fucking talented it makes me want to put my fist through a wall. i listened to their album a while after it came out and was like holy shit i need to go see them live and talk to my friend RIGHT NOW, went to a concert of theirs the very next day. i keep thinking that they can't get better at making music than they already are and yet every album they release surpasses all expectations. my friend also wrote and sings a song loosely based on into the wild, it's such a beautiful song, and seeing it live felt like one of the most punk things that's ever happened to me even though it doesn't sound quite like a punk song. https://youtu.be/VE6w-LcUGbo folk isn't a genre for everyone and yet i feel like tall travis kind of has a song and a sound for everyone in their music. this are my two fav songs from witness this that i absolutely love, All Along the Riverside https://youtu.be/LUH4zOgs6mg and Fences and Laws https://youtu.be/sBstXES0tG0 also here is an article someone wrote about them! https://m.sevendaysvt.com/vermont/on-their-third-album-ascendant-burlington-folk-punk-band-tall-travis-embrace-change/Content?oid=38696552

the We're Having Gay Sex podcast hosted by comedian Ashley Gavin is kind of my obession. it's a queer comedy podcast where the hosts have a new guest every episode and everyone shares a gay sex story. sometimes it's not gay and sometimes it's not even technically a story about sex but it has taught me a lot and made me feel more comfortable and confident in my body, my sexuality, and my queerness. they have all different kinds of guests on the pod, they have youtubers, actors, influencers, comedians, podcasters, scientists, they have people who are queer, straight, ace, any perspective you can think of they have someone. it's really funny and destigmatizes sex and our weird human bodies. love this pod and think it's really useful when you don't really have people around you who you can have totally open conversations about sex with, it's like a little friend <3333
Happy-Go-Lucky is a movie that i watched with my dad recently, it stars sally hawkins as this adorable optimist making her way through a much more cynical world and interacting with people who make a lot of assumptions about her based on her femininity and her attitude. feminity and girlhood has been an important part of my life experience, but i'm also questioning that and learning to accept myself as gender fluid and trans masc (I THINK? SEND HELP) so a lot of stories about traditional femininity make me feel a little alienated sometimes. but i really related to happy-go-lucky and sally hawkins character and it made me hopeful in a lot of ways. this movie is not craziest most spectacular movie you will ever see, it's just so so real and matter-of-fact, and that's why i love it. also sally hawkins character is so intriguing because she totally shows you who the people are that you are watching this movie with, her voice and personality are such an incredible test. i personally find her so charming and cute!!! and i may be trans masc but her outfits are so cute!!!!! like babes i want that layered dress outfit and those cool tights

HELLO CARROT!
Given how apparently I’m immune to playing OW games without recording them now, you’ll audibly hear my thoughts within the next few weeks (I’m posting tomorrow because I’m an absolute maniac), BUT I WANNA SAY THINGS HERE BECAUSE APPRECIATION CAN’T WAIT THAT LONG!
Also Merry Christmas! It’s midnight when I’m writing this, so ‘tis the day of caroling and festivities and woah. Or happy holidays if you don’t celebrate!
Back to the Our Cinderella topic, I have only played Genzou’s route as of now (I’m sure that’s hardly surprising, he is my fav), but the others are next. Their time is coming. They cannot escape. SO SPOILERS FOR GENZOU’S ROUTE!
First off, I saw you included the little dancing in front of TV Iggy pose and the joy I felt seeing it was off the charts. I kept bringing it up, I was very happy. And seeing Iggy moving about was really cool in general, even without the novelty of seeing a suggestion I made exist in the game.
NEXT UP! Genzou drunk singing is an image I didn’t know I needed, thank you for the visual and the brain food. BUT ALSO I HAVE BEEN CONNECTING JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR SONGS TO OW FOR SO LONG AND HEARING THE MUSICAL BE MENTIONED BY GENZOU THREW ME FOR A LOOP. Great musical, very nice. Last Supper reminds me of Genzou and Orlam. Judas’s voice in general reminds me of Orlam. Musicals and OW can further connect in my brain hobby drawer.
The text interactions in general were really funny, actually. I liked the absolute chaos that was Iggy and Genzou’s text conversations, I was laughing while trying to read a lot of the time. I remember the aforementioned drunk singing conversation and the puddle one both got me pretty good while I was reading, and it was overall fun to see more lighthearted conversations from the characters, even if it’s in a different universe from the main canon.
To end things off, ‘cause again 1) I haven’t finished all the game’s routes yet, and 2) you’ll be able to hear my thoughts in the moment if you choose in future anyways, I wanna mention the version of Cinderella Bucks tells at the end? I can’t get it out of my head. When I was thinking about the game after having just played it, my mind kept flashing back to CinderJesus. It absolutely decimated my brain function, but in a very fun way. More slice-of-life Bucks, please, she’s peak comedy.
Very fun game, 10/10, very sad I couldn’t buy the Kirby in the first playthrough but it’s on my to-do list, aaaand yeah! Thank you for making this! I loved every minute of it, and I’m really excited to play the remaining routes once my irl festivities are over.
sob this is so sweet! 😭💕 i'm excited to watch your playthrough too -- things are a bit overwhelming in general for me right now as i'm still with my family and doing a bunch of things, but even if i'm unable to find time this week i will for sure watch once i'm back home next week. i'm really happy that you're enjoying it so much already tho ahhhh and that you're finding it so entertaining 🥺
i'm glad you liked the poses i had so much fun with them and also using some of the suggestions to add more! and LMAO JCS is a musical i grew up watching (my parents used to play the original album in the house lol) so i get the songs stuck in my head a lot, hence why it randomly worked its way into this (among many other random silly little references or inspirations from my own life hahaha). that is extremely funny to me 🤣
i'm glad you liked the convos they were the epitome of silly. and also bucks's part hahaha. i was half-worried it would end up being too ridiculous and random for people because it just got so weird in places hahaha
thank you so much for this lovely message and all of your thoughts and for playing the game! 🥺💕 i look forward to watching the playthrough so i can see all of your reactions in real-time lakjdfs

i actually got into fob around the end of hiatus so i usually feel quite a bit of disconnect to fans who hate everything post hiatus, like i really don’t get it tbh 😬 sr&r is by far not my fav album either, probably least favorite if one wants to be pedantic about it (even tho it was the first one i was “present” for the release of) (i grew to love it much more the last five or so years idk why), but myyyyyy fucking gooooooooood do ppl annoy me that just blanket statement dismiss anything they did post hiatus when every single album has a story and a vibe and a coherency and is rather a work of art… ESPECIALLY the mania haters btw, you know who you are and pls know i hate you! idk it just… i get loving the pre hiatus stuff more if you grew up with it, hell /i/ feel like pre hiatus bc futct has been my favorite for the loooooooooongest time (it’s folie now) (yes im Deranged) but i would die for every single post hiatus album and im just not sure why some people can’t enjoy them At All when it’s literally still. fob. that part never changed, the inherent quality to the music and the lyrics never changed, so really i just feel like people are being shitty for no reason and those among us who DO get it have to suffer for it bc we get them put “i know i won’t be in your year end best ranked” in the lyrics of a fucking song like PETER. YES YOU WILL. DO NOT STOP MAKING MUSIC ILL LITERALLY KMS. GOD. idk im very passionate about this once i get rolling sorry about that but of all the bands who came out of a hiatus with arguably worse music than before, fob is not among them. they are indeed on the exact other side of that situation. IN MY OPINION. WHICH IS ALWAYS CORRECT.
hi anon :) yeah you're that it's really annoying how people dismiss post h stuff, and especially mania. to me it feels like a complete disconnect with how pre h fob albums are too because they have ALWAYS been willing to grow and change as artists, and i think it also just dismisses the way music culture itself has changed, clinging instead to imagined ideas of what was rather than what is (cause not all post h haters were even around for pre h too like!).
i totally agree also about how each fob album has a coherency, I remember finding out people disliked mania because 'it has no flow!' and being baffled because it absolutely does? the songs may not literally flow into each other like folies do, but that doesn't mean there isn't any consistency between them (I wonder if some of this comes from that whole wrong track order being released thing? because I think mania as it stands now flows better than that order) plus I think the pursuit of art is always worth a shot lmao
and like you said, it's fine to prefer one or the other, but it's like. the difference between personal preference and trying to make everyone else fit your exact tastes to me?
honestly my thoughts with music as a whole is i think its a disservice to dismiss anything out of like, 'oh well its in the Bad Genre I Will Never Listen To', like how people assign that to country or ska (i really like ska so this has frustrated me for years) or rap (this one is just racism and we all know it) OR APPARENTLY JAZZ? (INSANE TO ME?), I think if you really love MUSIC itself, it's best to truly just be open to trying anything, especially these days with how much the lines of genre blur, like I don't know just give things a chance to connect with you instead of shutting out the world based on strict lines... sorry I got off topic but basically yeah agreed lmao

top albums of 2023 for me. i dont have spotify so i gotta do this manually.
rankings approximate except the top one. links and thoughts under the cut
greenhouse - arc,regn
ok this may sound silly but: in the 90s, necros (among others) were making some rad tracker music with a very very specific synth sound and overall vibe that i simply have not heard since. this hits that for me.
"露華" necros md tracker idm revived. "spur" feels like it's that tracker sound, removed from tracker limits.
"føn", my second fav track, feels far more Halley Labs, but still carries a hint of that turn-of-the-century tracker spirit.
the opening track, "eko", is SO choice though. fav.
---
DJ Shadow - Action Adventure
kind of fascinated with this! it’s extremely 80s but not always. “You Played Me” is just an 80s hit. i keep coming back to it lol (idk “when” you’d place “Free For All” but its also a fav) how is “Fleeting Youth” so beautiful
im really excited to see DJ Shadow enter the 90s in 2035 or w/e
---
PROGedia - Diõscuri
prog hip hop? 6????
yeah that opening track grabbed me and did not let go. holy hell what a banger.
the aoty status is mostly carried on that, but like. it left an impression damnit.
feels like brainfeeder.
---
Liminal Warp - Nocturnal Edge 3
downside: anime VO, mixed kinda loud too...
upside: INTENSE.
I've had "Reina" on loop for ages. easy fav, but the rest of the tunes Don't Slack. still deeply fascinated by "yag si urowak". it's like breakcore 2 or smth.
---
Skrillex - Quest for Fire
I was really scared when i saw the number of features here but uhh... nope this went hard.
and also i didnt notice at first but one of those features is Joker. like... purple music Joker. and it's the best damn track on the thing.
"Xena" second favorite. insane drum production there.
---
Oneohtrix Point Never - Again
This covers the mind-exploding fringes of sampledelica but fresher. Or, actually... maybe that's too reductive.
I remember chimeratio hyping up "Locrian Midwest" specifically, and... yeah I can tell why. That's very him-flavored. The timbral selection is top notch. That last sentence applies to every other moment in every other track, though.
"Plastic Antique" would have murdered me in 2013.
---
Patricia Taxxon - TECHDOG 1-7
Of course this would grab me.
I would've just thought it was a delightful romp if it stopped at TECHDOG 1, but damn did it keep going.
"TETCTEHECDCHOHDGDOGOG" was an instant fav, but as time goes on, I keep finding new favorites. I think the build from birds to walls in "OCOTOCODCTCETDTHDEDGEHEGHGHG" is my fav as of writing.
That said, something that struck me imemdiately, got the most replays from me this year, from TECHDOG7: "THTCTHTOTHTCTHDHCHOHCECOCDCOGODOEODGDEDGDEGEGEGEG"
Never has a song so viscerally teleported me to a specific scenario: being a child, alone in a room without knowing why. I can feel the dust in the air. Insanely good.
---
Blawan - Dismantled Into Juice
Man.
This one hit my DNA.
The title track, "Dismantled Into Juice" not only is my fav here but it's influenced how i think abt music.
AOTY. ...EPOTY?

Was tagged by the illustrious @harbingerofskulls , thank you! :D 3 ships: Well. I don't really get into ships so to speak. but I DO like ships. so allow me to be a rascal here and misinterpret this question :3 off the top of my head- The King of Red Lions from Wind Waker, Kapp'n's boat from Animal Crossing GC, and of course, Saira's UFO from Saira (it's got radio!!! and pinball!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First ship: Now that'd have to be the beauty that is The Flutter from Megaman Legends. Oh how I wanted to take her for a spin as a kid. Still do. Look at her.... Fishe.
Tumblr media
Last Song: 2D or not 2D has been back on my mind the past few days for some reason. Sometimes one simply must return to one of the greatest music videos of all time I suppose. (Forever thinking of you, skeleton saying Oh Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet)
youtube
Last Film: ...if concert dvds count, then Susumu Hirasawa's The 9th Mandala....if not. I genuinely don't remember haha. Have found it hard to sit down for a whole film as of late. Currently Reading: Regrettably, nothing...I keep meaning to pick up Blame! though. Swear I will get to it eventually Currently Craving: Honestly? Can't think of anything. If I can expand the scope past food and drink then I really want to get some hairspray and try to make my hair defy gravity like a Visual Kei dude. Just to know if it's possible. I feel like I just have too much length but those guys do it somehow right?.. WAIT hold that thought actually I also want a hot doughnut. have not had a hot doughnut in a hot minute. Somebody help me anti-grav my hair and then lets go out for doughnuts. Fav Color: Black and white and red. but among close company I am known for my love of purple and teal as well. Relationship Status: Single Last Thing Googled: Honestly no idea. Things I have to google leave my brain immediately after I'm through with them and I've got a habit of searching everything in incognito so I can't even check. Sad Current Obsession: hmmmmm......Wataru Kamiryo (I mean he is always an obsession but. been particularly on the mind lately...beautiful beautiful vampire man.. I wish he would release another solo album.) Not directly tagging anyone because my brain is kinda cooked atm BUT consider yourself tagged if it suits your fancy. tell em ol' higherhell sent ya.

Okay im not On here often enough and my tumblr skills is bad. Sabs, please explain Who fletcher is and why we (yes we) are obsessed with her??
oh bestie it's such a fucking wild ride 😭 I apologise in advance for how long this will be but you don't understand how obsessed I am with this, it's probably unhealthy
fletcher is a really awesome queer musician! she writes beautiful lyrics and is known for being super honest and blunt, some would even say too much but it's kinda iconic. I met her last month and she's the sweetest angel and she has a new album coming out on friday!! absolutely worth listening to
basically the relevant bit here is she dated a very popular lesbian youtuber (shannon) from 2016 to 2020 and they had a pretty intense love story that they never actually discussed publicly UNTIL they broke up and fletcher released an ep called The S(ex) Tapes all about their relationship and shannon directed every music video for it and starred in two of them too. at the same time they also released a huge amount of pictures, videos, text screenshots and voice notes from their relationship which was just insane. oh, and this was during 2020 where they decided to spend 4 months quarantined together despite having broken up before that. this was an iconic era and still one of my faves music-wise and if you want more details, this is such a good thread
the whole thing really became more mainstream in 2022 when fletcher released her debut album, a lot of which was about shannon still, and in particular a song called 'becky's so hot' that seriously took off on lesbian tiktok. becky was shannon's new girlfriend and the two had a whole beef on tiktok about it and there were tshirts involved and it's a whole thing but honestly not my fave so I won't expand too much 😅
anyways the next chapter is they happened to run into each in 2023 at an eras tour concert and fletcher wrote an amazing song about it called 'eras of us' and around the same time shannon started a podcast called exes and o's where she said she'd talk about her relationships among other stuff.
which leads us to today when she released a sneak peak of this episode and there was it includes an 'um' that is very obviously fletcher to anyone who knows her voice. and of course the internet is breaking over it because this is huuuge, no one really thought it would ever happen and again, they never ever discussed their relationship so it's crazy it's happening 4 years after they broke up and 8 years after they met.
also, it is both of their birthdays tomorrow (stream 'birthday girl' by fletcher, it's my fav), podcast comes out on wednesday and then fletcher's album on friday so everything is crazy

I loved every moment you mentioned too! The greatest is so good, it was one of my immediate favourites on the album on first listen so hearing it as the opener was awesome. SIBWAWC delivered as expected!!! So good. It was just such a strong setlist! I agree about the 1D songs, I never really listened to 1D (other than how everyone my age did, in the sense that the music was everywhere so you picked stuff up) so I wasnt that familiar with WDBHG but Louis made it fun! I'd be fine with only one 1D cover (especially if it gave us headline, common people or TTWLG which im keeping my fingers crossed will get rotated in)
The production was really good, I'm a fairly new fan so haven't seen too much of Louis' last tour (mostly just clips) so it was really cool to see all the screens and lights. You can tell a lot of thought goes into making it feel cohesive.
I was soooo pleased to hear Copy, it's just SUCH a good song and he looked confident singing it.
Also back to you!!! I really didn't expect that, it was such a good version. And "Miss you" was one of the first Louis songs I discovered and really loved (very late discovery as this was like...last year? Haha) and I've always thought it would be SUCH a great song to experience live so that gives me a bit of hope that maybe we'll get a version of it at some point on this tour. (Whishful thinking maybe!)
Also got to mention going from saved by a stranger (Also so good) to WAOYF...the emotional whiplash!!!! It worked though!
Honestly, I could probably run through every song with something I liked (I've barely mentioned HOTH and Saturdays and silver Tongues!) but I've already ranted in your inbox enough but what a great first show!!!! So excited for the next one!!!
I'm glad to see the greatest appreciation, it was one of my favs at first listen too. Louis writes the best tour openers. He really did transport us to another world with sibwawc didn't he 😌 his mind is just superior. The production was mind blowing and a true step up from last tour (ltwt's production was still amazing though). Copy is a masterpiece no doubt about that the imagerie of the lyrics is insane. BTY in 2023? If someone told me that before the show i would never believe them but it made me so happy for many reasons. There is hope for miss you after all 😭 ( i think at some point he's going to replace bty with miss you and if it happens idk how i'll survive). There was so many surprises last night but honestly the biggest one for me was him singing saved by a stranger ❤️‍🩹(the bravery, the grace!!). Not only that he also made it kind of rock and followed it with waoyf (that fan in the live stream who was silent the whole time but felt the need to shout "can we pls go back to fucking" instead of " loving" didn't go unnoticed🔪🔪). Tbh, i always thought if he really had to perform a 1d song, night changes would be a good one (his solo is so angelic in it) and i enjoyed it when he performed it in the past. But this time, even i was surprised that the 1d covers didn't work for me. I think fitf is just a beast on a whole other level and performing 1d songs among such a brillant setlist emphasizes the quality differece between Louis' solo songs and the band's, sorry. Night changes followed by Chicago and wdbhg put between ooms and saturdays (and then silver tongues) was almost humilating for them if it weren't for Louis' perfect delivery and witt (and angelic voice). I can talk about the show forever and in detail about each and every song but i didn't want to make this any longer. Feel free to rant about Louis' music and performances in my inbox i love those kind of rants 🥰. The second show is today and i couldn't be more excited 💙

39, 56, and 65!!
39. Which was the last concert you went to?
Last one I was at was Roger Water's 2022 tour (which was supposed to be back in 2020 before covid hit). I've had to be a lot more cautious about attending concerts this past year because of that, but thankfully masks were required for entry at this show.
I've been wanting to see a Pink Floyd member live for over a decade now and let me tell you, that show was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Great music and incredible stage effects, and it was really nice to see one of my fav musicians straight up display the words "Trans Rights" in big bold letters on stage (among all of the other rights we still need to fight for) <3
56. A song/album/artist you wish you could forget so you could have the experience of hearing it for the first time again
Too many to count. At the moment I was reminiscing on the 1st time I listened to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" in its entirely so that's certainly one I would want to re-experience again if I could. That was a straight-up religious experience for me ✨
65. Are there any songs you know the entire lyrics by heart?
Many! One that I sing to myself often is "Golf Girl" by Caravan because the lyrics are just really fun and easy on my vocal chords. My most impressive feat is being able to sing all of "Supper's Ready" by Genesis from memory, since that one's got a LOT of lyrics to remember

on my shelf: soundtrack to MA year 2 - summer
HAPPY 50TH POST APPARENTLY! My last post feels like forever ago, but it's only been a couple months. Classes went back to being fully offline which meant constant commuting and no time to do any of the work I needed to do... but somehow I managed to get through it. More important, though, is that since my last post I finally started going to concerts again! It's been so so so fun being in that environment again, being part of a crowd of people singing and dancing along to music you all love. My first show back was actually KPop Flex festival day 1 which was.. interesting. The artists were all amazing and the vibe was wonderful but the organisation was a bit chaotic. The other shows were Lorde (finally!!!), Coldplay (my second time!), and Loona (12-3). Though I always swore I would never, me and my friend stood at the back of the crowd for all of these shows, and we still had the absolute best time. 10/10 would recommend. Wearing a mask wasn't uncomfortable at all either and has helped me evade the plague so far, so 10/10 would recommend, too.
Okay, I think that's enough intro now - let's get into my summer soundtrack (everything since my last post until now):
BTS: Proof (2022)
An anthology album that features all of their lead singles on disc 1, one solo and one sub-unit song chosen by each member on disc 2, demos on disc 3, and 3 new songs throughout. It's so cool to hear how they evolved musically but stayed true lyrically, all in one compact place. There are some true gems among the CD-only demos, like Jin's alternate version of "Epiphany" and SUGA's "Seesaw" instrumental demo. I'm glad we have the final versions we now have, but being able to hear what other directions some of my favourite songs could've gone into is so cool. The three new songs are both unlike anything they've done before and unmistakably Bangtan. "Yet To Come" is hopeful and comforting, "Run BTS" is cool and driving, and "For Youth" is soulfully sentimental. They're a great interlude as they (and we) move into chapter 2.
Fav: "Run BTS"
j-hope: Jack In The Box (2022)
Speaking of chapter 2, j-hope started the more "me" focussed era with a truly outside of the box album. While 2018's Hope World was both bright and a smidgen darker hip-hop, all in all danceable and what we know Hoseok to be like, Jack In The Box does its name justice. Genre-wise it moves around between rock ("More"), old school hip-hop (basically every song) and some soulful moments ("Safety Zone"). Lyrically, he's never been this raw and open, touching on being stuck between feeling like he's worked too hard and not worked enough, feeling like he has no place of respite, but also feeling fairly sure of his own identity between all of it. His hopeful demeanour isn't gone, he's just showing it in a new way and reflecting on it more. j-hope also headlined Lollapalooza in Chicago shortly after the album's release and the only word to describe that performance is MIND-BLOWING. He commands the stage and crowd like no other.
Fav: "Safety Zone"
Tomorrow x Together: Minisode 2: Thursday's Child (2022)
Though they have showed a darker side at various points in their discography, this EP has been the most consistent at running with the theme and does it in a new way for them. It's well-crafted, telling a story from one song to the next, but each song can easily stand on its own. The story of a boy who gets his heart broken moves from the devastating, pull-at-your-hair emotional "Opening Sequence" to angry and energetic "Good Boy Gone Bad" to sad and beautiful ballad "Trust Fund Baby" to low-key, trap-based sub-unit track "Lonely Boy", ending on a euphoric high note with Beomgyu produced sub-unit track "Thursday's Child Has Far to Go". Their vocal skills have been amazing since their debut album, but they really show off what they can do here. You can't help but be pulled in by them.
Fav: "Thursday's Child Has Far To Go"
Red Velvet: The ReVe Festival 2022 - Feel My Rhythm (2022)
This EP feels very much like a natural progression from last year's Queendom EP, with a similar more mature but still undeniably Red Velvet sound. Title track "Feel My Rhythm" masterfully incorporates Bach's "Air on the G String", giving the song a fresh but also eery vibe - the quintessential description of Red Velvet. I had fun spotting all the nods to art works in the music video, especially the Hieronymus Bosch references, since I wrote a paper about him almost exactly a year before the MV was released! The album artwork partially has the members dressed up as ballerinas in music boxes, which I LOVE. I'm not entirely sure why the album title references their 2019 album series The ReVe Festival, since the music isn't very similar. This EP is more understated, but still rich. The Bach reference really influences the rest of the songs in attitude: they all share a kind of elegant confidence, which suits the members well at this stage in their 8-year career.
Fav: "Beg For Me"
LOONA: [Summer Special] Fl!p That (2022)
This EP was released very shortly after LOONA's participation on the girl group competition show "Queendom 2" (which they should have won imo BUT ALAS) and showed a completely different side to them than on the show and their previous EPs. The other contestants often criticized them for not doing the strong performances they've become known for and then they release this EP that is full of the opposite of what people have come to expect. I love that. Their discography is so diverse and this EP adds yet a new flavour. It's quite understated (except for "POSE", their final song from "Queendom 2"), yet full of heart. Especially "Playback" stands out, as its heartfelt lyrics were written by members HaSeul, Kim Lip and Yves, a first for the group. The show showed how involved they are (and have to be) in so many aspects of their performances, so seeing them involved in the songs itself gives me hope that they'll get this chance more often. Considering the LOONAVERSE lore, it's interesting that intro instrumental "The Journey" and title track "Flip That" sample "Frozen" by the sub-unit yyxy's 2017 album. I'll leave what it might mean up to the lore detectives among Orbits. Amidst a stressful year for fans and the group, I'm glad that at least all 12 members are on the EP.
Fav: "Need U"
fromis_9: Midnight Guest (2022)
I got into this EP a couple of months after it was released. I loved title track "DM" immediately and have been karaoke'ing it consistently, but didn't listen to the full EP until the spring. It kicks off with the bold R&B of "Escape Room", which is easily my favourite song on the EP. It also includes the pretty ballad "Love Is Around", bouncy but smooth "Hush Hush" and city pop inspired (even referencing the genre's most famous song "Plastic Heart") "0g", ticking off so many of my favourite things. The girls have great vocals and the instrumentals are so satisfying to listen to.
Fav: "Escape Room"
NewJeans: NewJeans (2022)
One day, I get a notification from the HYBE YouTube channel: the official music video for "Attention" by NewJeans has been uploaded. Hold up. Who is NewJeans? I thought I knew everyone who's under HYBE?! Well. "Attention" is the perfect title for the first song released by this new girl group because they immediately had mine (and apparently many others' too). The sound is clearly inspired by girl groups from the early 2000s with the lush vocal harmonies and lowkey instrumental, which is something you don't hear in K-Pop, where the credo is the more the better. NewJeans, through all 4 tracks on this EP, are like a breath of fresh air. The members are very young, so I hope the company goes easy on them workload-wise. But looking at their styling, which is quite trendy according to current teen fashion (which is also inspired by the 2000s so it works well) but not too exposed or too cutesy, it seems like they're in good hands.
Fav: "Attention" (but all 4 songs are so so great)
---and here's some more that I'm not gonna write a whole thing for:
Kep1er: Doublast (2022)
Le Sserafim: Fearless (2022)
Mamamoo: I Say Mamamoo: The Best (2021)
(G)I-DLE: I NEVER DIE (2022)
STAYC: WE NEED LOVE (2022)
BTS: Dark & Wild (2014), Skool Luv Affair (2014)
---and some singles:
benny blanco, BTS, Snoop Dogg: "Bad Decisions" (2022)
Psy feat. SUGA of BTS: "That That" (2022)
Crush feat. j-hope of BTS: "Rush Hour" (2022)
Balming Tiger feat. RM of BTS: "Sexy Nukim" (2022)
Jimin & Ha Sungwoon: "With You" (2022)
ADORA: "Trouble? Travel!" (2022)
Sunmi: "Heart Burn", "Childhood" (2022)

TAYLOR SWIFT'S COLLABORATIONS RANKED. (Part 2)
Tumblr media
(GIF credit to @fadesintoviews)
(Part One; Part Three)
20) I Don't Wanna Live Forever (feat. Zayn Malik)
Ugh, this was a really tough decision, I wish this one was more close to the first tenth songs, but I did all my calculations (yes, like Albert Einstein) and I arrived to the sad conclusion that I have to sacrifice some songs and this was one of them. When this song first came out (and in the following year) I was obsessed, but now I don't listen to it as much so I think this is a right decision.
19) No Body, No Crime (feat. HAIM)
Another crack in my poor heart for this decision, but I do have to admit that off of all the folklore/evermore (yes, I do consider these two albums as just one huge inseparable album) this is my least favorite collab, and I don't listen to it quite as often as the other ones.
18) I Bet You Think About Me (feat. Chris Stapleton)
I have to admit that off the Red TV this is the collab that I like the least (is this sentence's syntax correct?), but that does not mean that I don't listen to it as much as the other ones. It's a really fresh, fun, upbeat song and it always puts me in a great mood, but – I've said it before – I'm an emo kid, so it's logical that I prefer the sadder collabs.
17) Breathe (feat. Colbie Caillat)
Man, this song is so fucking sad. You think the end of romantic relationship is hard, the end of a friendship is harder and this song just tears me up every time I listened to it, so obviously when I'm in a – I'm not gonna say good mood, cause that would be an hyperbole – decent mood, I naturally skip it so I don't get depressed.
16) You All Over Me (feat. Maren Morris)
This song DOES NOT deserve to be out of the top 10, but what do you wanna me to say? I had to make a choice and this is the one I made. Anyhow, I LOVE this song: when it came out I streamed it like crazy, I still listen to it, but simply not as much as I used to. Overall, among the Fearless TV's vault track, this is not one of my favs...
15) Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar)
I definitely don't have an explanation for this, I was sure this one was going to be in a higher position (I thought ninth or eighth)... Guess I was wrong. What can I say about it? Great song, a bit overrated and the lyrics are not her best ones. But who doesn't love a classic? (me, apparently).
14) That's When (feat. Keith Urban)
I'm ashamed of myself. That's all I have to say. That's all I'm gonna say.
13) Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran)
Something is definitely wrong here: how is it possible that this song isn't in my top ten? Taylor, you have to stop making such good songs, you make it impossible for me to rank it and it drives me crazy. Anyhow, I LOVE this song, it's just that – since she released Red TV – this isn't my favorite one anymore. Your fault, TayTay.
12) Endgame (feat. Future, Ed Sheeran)
*cries in reputation*. I really don't know how happened. I really thought this was gonna be in my top 5, but I looked at the remaining songs and the only thing I know is that the second after doing this homicide (to my reputation... lol... this was a good one). I'm really ashamed of myself (pt.2).
11) Safe & Sound (feat. The Civil Wars)
Okay, last sacrifice before entering the top 10. This DOES NOT mean that this didn't hurt. Safe & Sound is a masterpiece. Great music production, such an ethereal sound *chef kiss*. And that bridge (!!) that gives me literally chills. Music perfection.
That's all for now. If you arrived this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and if you want to see my top 10, go check Part Three.

here’s my own wrapped because the amount of times i listen to something isn’t necessarily related to how much i like it or treasure it (+ fav albums / tracks of the year used to be a popular tag game on 2016 tumblr and i miss that), so here we go:
2021 RELEASES
💿 “magic still exists”, agnes — don’t you love it when an album’s tracklist is arranged into a seamless flow but its songs don’t blur together in your head? a package of 4 impeccable interludes and 7 delicious pop tracks
💿 “my mamma”, la rappresentante di lista — who does electropop like them, who? no skips album 😘👌
🎵 “coraline”, måneskin — while zitti e buoni was special in its own way (those sanremo stages, the delirium of the esc grand final, this post & many other highs) and i like teatro d’ira vol.1, coraline is the best their discography has to offer (so far). i play it sparingly; there’s something about its palpable rawness as your car’s speakers blast it while you’re the only vehicle for a long stretch of the motorway at twilight...
🎵 “t’amo”, mahmood — his 2nd album wasn’t exactly *bad* but it was a disappointment compared to his debut imo. this song though ❗❗ when the chorus where the choir sings no potho reposare hits...
🎵 “year to year / 29”, yaeji & ohhyuk — a textured double single, a conversation between two artists.
🎵 “飞天 (flying apsaras)”, lay
DISCOVERED IN 2021
💿 “shabrang”, sevdaliza.
💿 “the beirut school”, mashrou’ leila.
💿 “gore”, lous and the yakuza.
💿 “the moon and the melodies” — cocteau twins.
🎵 “all is full of love”, björk — i gave another chance to further tracks of hers i had previously discarded, too (& i have a feeling i’d love homogenic once i put in the effort), but “You'll be given love / You'll be taken care of [...] / You have to trust it / Maybe not from the sources / You have poured yours / Maybe not from the directions / You are staring at / Twist your head around / It's all around you" absolutely stands out (maybe because it personally doesn’t feel like a platitude)
🎵 “我愛你”, cody lee (李) — a bop with a great video, too (thanks @elipsi for the rec)
🎵 “mesecina / moonlight”, goran bregović — makes me belt out gibberish that should resemble serbian & go absolutely apeshit, i love it so much!
🎬 “bless your heart”, serpentwithfeet — its absolutely gorgeous mv was directed by andrew thomas huang, the same guy behind fka twigs’ cellophane & the “kiss of the rabbit god” short film
@cybermaenad thank you so much for your led zeppelin primer 💜💜 (“achilles last stand” is def among my 2021 highlights)
chaoyang trap’s episode on taiwan’s influence on chinese music yielded many names i’d never heard of before (thanks @elipsi for that playlist, you know the one)
arca — pots! and! pans! reggaeton in the year 3000! the maximalism of it all!
K-POP TRACKS FROM 2021 WORTH LISTENING TO EVEN THOUGH YOU BLACKLISTED THE TAG
“vanilla”, kai (the whole EP actually but i’m restraining myself)
“lullaby”, woodz (+ his “only lovers left” EP but i’m restraining myself)
“bad love”, key (the whole EP actually but i’m restraining myself)
“advice”, taemin — *obviously*
“don’t call me”, shinee
“moonshot”, n.flying
“lazy”, woosung feat. reddy
“spider”, hoshi
“bittersweet”, wonwoo & mingyu feat. leehi
“crush”, seventeen
“metamorphosis”, mrshll it’s actually k-indie but shh
“bad sad and mad”, bibi
“red lipstick”, leehi
“nakka”, akmu feat. iu

Fav music 2021
Again I feel the need to put, what I consider to be subjectively, the absolute crème de la crème of 2021, no particular order, but the first two maybe stand out from all the rest...
FLUISTERAARS  - Gegrepen Door de Geest der Zielsontluiking
Tumblr media
Absolutely incredible release, this is one of those records that showcases the beauty that can be achieved through black metal. I would put this among my all time favorites in the genre. Truly outstanding work.
The Bug - Fire
Tumblr media
What is there to say about this one that hasn’t been said already, Kevin Martin truly outdid himself here, and that says a lot considering his back catalogue. Absolute bangers from start to finish. The praise this album gets is well warranted. Masterpiece!
Mdou Moctar - Afrique Victime
Tumblr media
I love Mdou Moctar and this is the best album they released so far, the songwriting is absolutely stellar, I don’t know any band that sounds like them. I don’t understand the lyrics but I can feel them through the music. Perfection.
KA - A Martyr's Reward
Tumblr media
Last year’s “ Descendants of Cain “ was probably one of my most listened albums this year, it always takes me a long time for his albums to truly show their depth. This album released during summer even though it’s not an easy summer listen. This is KA so I had to listen more and I’m glad I did. The pen game is of course godlike, the production is also something that should be appreciated since it compliments his delivery so much. Not for everyone but those who can appreciate this type of work are gonna find a well that just keeps giving. KA is on a level of his own.
Vince Staples - s/t
Tumblr media
One of the most listened albums as per my music app on my mobile, so I wouldn’t be honest with myself if I didn’t put this one here. I love Vince Staples’ albums and I really didn’t like this record when it came out but it grew on me over time. I don’t mind short albums, especially ones that work so well as a whole. A bit different from his other work, at least production wise, but still extremely good.
Lord Huron - Long lost
Tumblr media
This is a really late addition to my top favs of this year, never heard of this band before (I see that they are somewhat famous), found this on a top list on some site like a month ago, and I haven’t stopped listening to it.

what kind of music do you listen??? thats kinda personal question but i'm just curious like bands, groups, genres, your fav songs or some recommendations :) I need to update my playlists
... anon you underestimate just how weird my music taste is. Spotify Wrapped isn't fun for me at all, it's just me getting roasted. There's just no way to feel good about yourself after learning that you spent eighteen hours listening to the same four Kalafina songs (Kalafina being a popular Japanese band who do a lot of anime theme songs. Before you ask, yes those four songs where anime theme songs...).
In 2020 I was among the 0.005% percentile of top listeners to Florence and the Machine. So anything Florence and the Machine goes. Check out the rarer tracks, though, Ceremonials was a great album but she has a lot of other stuff that's just as good, if not better. (I feel the need to say this because I only ever see people linking to Ceremonials, or Lungs.)
For several years in a row I've been among the top 1% listeners to the alternative rock band Kaizer's Orchestra. Every time I think I'm cured I listen to Begravelsespolka again and bam, we're jamming.
I would be amiss not to mention Queen. This playlist is great, and my recommendation (though I had to make own spinoff playlist because they keep changing and shuffling it).
2019, I had just discovered Jesus Christ Superstar, and, uh. I'll let this image speak for itself:
Tumblr media
Ted Neeley was my top artist that year...
(Fun fact, @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin listened to JSC when she wrote The Unwinding Golden Thread. Reading it, you can tell.)
I'm a musical fan in general. Special shoutouts go to Phantom of the Opera (this recording being my preference), The Fiddler on the Roof, Hamilton, french Les Misérables (which for the record is much more accurate to the book. Used to be on spotify, disappeared), and The Prince of Egypt.
Apart from that we have a lot of anime OSTs. Fate/Zero (there was a video that had all the soundtracks, youtube ate it. I'm still in mourning), Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Revolutionary Girl Utena (I'm linking three videos for Utena because I have yet to find a playlist that has every piece of soundtrack in one place) are probably my top three.
I'm weak for Eminem.
Eurovision too, I unironically listen to Eurovision songs.
Louis Attaque is a French folk rock group I sometimes remember exists. If I'm not careful, I'll listen to nothing else for a month.
Further recs...
All chapters of Kingdom of Heaven were written to Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.
Nebuchadnezzar's Dream has largely been written to anime OSTs, though the most recent chapter needed thematically correct background music so things got Christian. My favorite psalm, Puccini's Messa di Gloria (with heavy emphasis on Credo), and the Norwegian composer Knut Nystedt at his absolute angstiest each got a lot of mileage. For the next and last chapter I'm listening to the beautiful soundtrack Emilie Simon made for La Marche de L'Empereur because goddamnit, penguin music can be inspirational too!
Apart from that I'm a slut for movie OSTs, John Williams especially, Peer Gynt with vocals, and 90's rock band Garbage.
Hope this helps.

MT EPISODE REWRITING: DARK BLADE
Okay, this one is longer than the previous because I introduce some of my OCs and because the setting is different/takes longer than in canon. For continuity and character’s depvelopment’s sake, there will be more episodes like that, I hope you will enjoy them too. Btw, it’s one of my fav episode of the first season (mainly the akuma, I still find it very fun!)
Dark Blade, Miraculous team version!
Tumblr media
(Takes place after Reflekta, early/mid-September)
Ms. Bustier announce to her class that the class rep election will be held in a week; she quickly reminds her students what the class rep role is, and their duties, before asking who would be interested in the job and/or the deputy. Chloé, Rose and Kim raise their hands for the class rep while Sabrina precises she goes for the deputy position. Ms. Bustier writes everything down and tell them they still have a whole week before the election and the bell rings. As the students get out, Alya notices that Marinette looks a bit down -jaded even- and asks her what’s wrong.
“Chloé is going to be class rep no matter what. She’s always been since 6th (first year of middle school) and it won’t change anytime soon.”
“Wait, you really think others want that blonde bully as a class rep?! She certainly doesn’t get my vote; Kim seems a better option even if he’s a bit dumb!”
“Yeah, if Kim maintains his candidacy. But the past two years, each time, all Chloé’s opponents gave up before the election, leaving her the only option. We didn’t have a choice.”
Alya is both shocked and annoyed to learn that, and the two discuss about it more before they split up to go home. They didn’t notice their teacher heard some of it. Once Marinette is home, she rushes to do her homework and finish her secret box, in case an akuma would appear in the evening or night. Tikki is a bit anxious that she writes all her secrets in her diary until she gets trapped in the box (like in canon). Marinette also assured her she wrote the part about her life as Ladybug in Chinese, so only her mom (or family on her mother side) could read it but they were little chance they’d get their hand on the diary or even want to read it. Before going dinnertime, Marinette confides in Tikki that she would have liked running for class rep, but she’s afraid she won’t have the time to do properly. Tikki tells her it will not hurt to try and that it would be a shame to leave the position to Chloé of all people, especially because she thinks that Marinette would be a great CP. Marinette feels a bit flattered but doesn’t change her mind (yet).
At dinnertime, she hears her parents talking about the incoming elections. They’re not really happy with either candidate, but they’d rather have Mr Bourgeois again as the mayor than Mr D’Argencourt. She listens with a distracted ear, choosing not to talk about the class rep elections.
Meanwhile, at the Agreste mansion, Gabriel and Nathalie have a similar conversation. Adrien listens carefully, curious about it since D’Argencourt is his fencing teacher. When Nathalie points out that D’Argencourt is too backward-looking (among other things) for her taste, it amuses Adrien who tells them that, indeed, his teacher has an old-fashioned way of speech and is sometimes too pompous. He imitates D’Argencourt shortly, making the two laugh a bit, then Gabriel reveals him that he had been seriously considering Adrien to change fencing lessons for a while because D’Argencourt tends to speak of politics too much in front of the children, imposing his point of view on them. “I am not paying him to spread his own propaganda.” While Adrien respects his teacher for his skills and enjoys fencing, he admits that he wouldn’t mind having a new -friendlier and more open-minded- teacher. Nathalie takes her tablet so they can show him the options they found.
As the week goes by, both Rose and Kim go to Ms. Bustier to tell her they withdraw their candidacy in turn. The teacher tries to change their mind, but when she realizes the two are really scared and were threatened/blackmailed, she stops. Ms Bustier is very upset, she speaks about it to some of her colleagues and the vice-principal (Damocles) only to hear that they can’t do much about it. The principal eats out of the mayor’s palm hand and so, he lets Chloé do whatever she wants. She goes to some of her students, asking them if they would be interested but they are either not interested at all or don’t want to confront Chloé. Only Adrien, Alya and Marinette answered “I am too busy, I won’t have the time to do it”. Marinette feels kinda sorry for her teacher who seems quite glum because of that, she starts having second thoughts. Tikki gives her a pep talk, then Marinette remembers that compared to Miss Tigri and the two giant snakes, Chloé seems ridiculous, which is why she manages to hold her ground and keep her seat, so she decides to go for it. Ms Bustier and her classmates are thrilled by her decision, whereas Chloé fumes and is already on the war path.
The following events are quite the same as canon then, all Marinette’s classmate congratulates her for her courage and have some requests for her. All of them are already planning to vote for her, Adrien too: he sees that Marinette will take her duty seriously. Then Chloé tries bribing them with albums and autographs of Jagged Stones. While Marinette rushes to the hotel, Sabrina goes to the bakery and uses the geometry book excuse; Sabine hesitates a bit because she doesn’t recognize Sabrina and cannot go and look for the book herself. Then, a young woman Sabrina doesn’t know speaks up:
“I can go and look for it with her, auntie!”
Sabrina is confused and wonders who that girl is, but Sabine, relieved at the sight of her niece, allows them to go. The girl introduce herself as Ryma -Marinette’s cousin- and the two climb to Marinette’s room. Sabrina is bothered by Ryma’s presence; she cannot search the room as she wishes nor talk to Chloé (who is hopping mad since Sabrina hung up on her in panic). However, she notices the diary in the box, and the moment Ryma turns her back on her, she rushes to take it. The two girls jump at the loud snap.
D’Argencourt is still bitter because he lost the elections and takes it out on his students, being harder and more demanding than usual. After showing off his move to Adrien, he makes his speech about his ancestor during his class (like canon). Adrien only listens out of politeness, eager for him to stop so he can go – plus, he (deep down) thinks D’Argencourt is a jerk, just like his ancestor. Gabriel comes to pick him up with his bodyguard, and while Adrien goes to change, Gabriel argues with D’Argencourt. The latter doesn’t take well that Gabriel wants his son to leave his “school”, nor how he cannot counter any argument Gabriel throws at him.
The fencer leaves only to be approached by Nadja Chamack and the sight of André Bourgeois’ picture is too much, he gets akumatized. Nadja and her cameraman are changed into knights, Gabriel and Adrien’s bodyguard see it and they both try to get Adrien to safety. They are changed as Adrien transforms and rushes out as Chat Noir.
Back at the hotel, Marinette feels a bit offended that her classmates (seem to) accept to be bribed; but when she asks them, most of them put it bluntly that they don’t intend on voting for Chloé.
“She will never keep her promises if she becomes class rep, so why should we keep ours?”
Marinette is left speechless, but she cannot blame them for making a false promise to her bully. Her phone rings, and she’s surprised to see it’s her cousin Ryma calling her. She gets more and more confused until Ryma arrives, pulling Sabrina behind her by her wrist.
“That girl was literally caught left-handed!” she tells Marinette, holding out Sabrina’s trapped hand for her to see.
Chloé runs to pull them all asides and is shocked as Ryma grabs her too then terrified by the older girl’s expression. Marinette tries to calm her cousin down, but they are interrupted by the akuma’s arrival. Like in canon, Marinette takes the lead, and they barricade the doors while Chat Noir and Pandora fight the knights outside, then she sneaks away when she can. Pandora is quite irritated as she fights off the knights and takes jabs at Dark Blade whenever she can, to both LB and CN’s surprise and amusement.
When the knights catapult themselves up, Chat Noir is the one who cries out “The flag! They are aiming for the flag!” and the three quickly climb up to prevent them from taking it. Pandora stations herself near the flag, fending them off (some Les Misérables references? Maybe!) while Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm. She gets a little bag full of itching powder and she throws it at Dark Blade after he tries to pull his move on Chat Noir (“Not twice!” yes, a Saint Seiya reference too sorry not sorry), CN uses his cataclysm on the sword and LB can capture the akuma and uses her miraculous healing.
The younger heroes have only a few minutes left, so after a group “pound it”, they leave. Pandora turns to D’Argencourt and offers to help him down the roof, but he is so rude and condescending to her that turns away. “Suit yourself, Messire. Good luck!” D’Argencourt stays stunned and huffs, trying clumsily to go down. A shadow appears behind him and reaches out:
“I think you would have been an amazing ruler, sir.” A smile. “We can help you restore your family’s former greatness, let us help you and together, we will lead the people of Paris to glory.”
D’Argencourt remains silent a moment, then takes the hand in his.
“Welcome among us, Armand D’Argencourt.”
The hands shake firmly.
Marinette sneaks back among her classmates, claiming she had been changed into a knight. Adrien does the same (and no one questions how and when he arrived at the hotel) before Chloé tries to make a scene, calling Marinette a quitter. It doesn’t last as Ryma butts in, still dragging a tearful Sabrina behind her; Marinette frees Sabrina’s hand and expose Chloé (well, she betrays herself but still). When Chloé tries to shift the blame on Sabrina, everyone rolls their eyes “yeah right, we know Sabrina is more your minion than friend.”. Although her victory is obvious, Marinette still makes a nice speech, showing them all that she does deserve to be class rep and gets a round of applause.
The following day, Marinette is officially the class president and Alya her deputy. She sees Ryma at the bakery later, who congratulates her. They both hug and Marinette thanks her again for defending her.
Adrien then joins his new fencing class and meets his new teacher, Laura Fleuret.
AN: Adrien’s new teacher is inspired by a real fencer Laura Flessel ; and if you wonder what Ryma looks like, here’s a reference)
