I am amazed
That the Todoroki family is as functional and well put together as it is, I really am. This isn't me going, 'they shouldn't want him back!', btw... though I do still think that, for the record. It's more that they go through all that, and at the end of the day only Dabi goes on to not be a productive citizen.
I'm... not really going anywhere with this, it's just... their dad is an abusive asshole, yeah, that's the baseline. He's rich, sure whatever. The important bit is, I think, is that he's a hero, and you have to remember that in that MHA context: a hero, in MHA, is more than just a celebrity, more than just a public servant. The only way I can really put it is like this; in MHA, a hero is expected to hold up the sky, and so is treated as such.
In a society fracturing under the weight of overreaching government restrictions, escalating societal pressures, civil rights movements that are starting to bloom into terrorist organizations for the sheer lack of progress being made, heroes are the glue holding it all together. They are that big, that important, that beloved.
And the Todorokis were raised by, and abused by, one such hero. But he's not just a hero, oh no: he's not some down on his luck no-name barely scraping by, or struggling to manage his job, he's Endeavor, the Number Two Hero. He's second only to All Might, which might as well mean he's first among all humans. His face and image is on toys and posters, his name known to every man, woman and child in Japan, and probably by substantial amounts on other continents as well. In short, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that he, and the other top heroes, are pillars of society.
That is the man that abused them, that is the man that ruined their lives: a man who symbolizes the very society they live in.
I'll say it again: the fact that only Dabi snapped, and went on to reject their father and everything he stands for, astounds me. After driving their mother into a psychotic break, to the point she spends the rest of her life locked away, after driving their brother into suicide, everything he does to them and they just... go onto being normal people.
In my imagination, Fuyumi is... the leader of a motorcycle gang. Why? I don't know; I don't even think one could possibly exist in a society where law enforcement can come down out of the sky and casually flip an eighteen wheeler, but... still, that's my mental image for her. I think it's the sheer level of repression she has going on being released in cathartic violence and wild rampage.
Natsuo, meanwhile, I picture having a normal job, a normal life, but being just... super subversive under the surface. Maybe he hacks hero's bank accounts, maybe he joins some crazed revolutionary organization (MHA has enough of them), or is some guerilla reporter devoted to exposing heroic corruption or something; I'm not sure which, but him having that level of secrecy in his rebellion when he's outwardly the most straightforward about his anger amuses me.
For Rei? At some point, Endeavour comes to visit her, and she's the one to give him that scar on his eye.
As a treat.
And as for Shoto? In a timeline without Midoriya correction... well. I always imagined he'd go to school and become a hero, as expected. Endeavour tries to force him into his agency, but he refuses, goes his own way, does everything he can to avoid the man, even if it damages his career prospects, but above all else he refuses to bow, refuses to bend even an inch to his father.
But Endeavour refuses to leave his prized creation alone.
And then, one day, he just... snaps. Goes full Sephiroth, in fact. He snaps, kills his father before he even knows what's happening, and just kinda... wanders off, to accidently his way into becoming a feared villain, either still not emoting at all, or again like Sephiroth (or his brother), just going full in on the crazy.
And for bonus points? The last straw that drives him over the edge? Endeavour's eye getting scarred, Endeavour looking more like him, both of them marked by Rei's hand; that last, unwanted, connection to the man he hates most, laced with some of his deepest, most unresolved trauma.

Pairing: Dabi x Female!Reader
Parts: Prologue, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Synopsis: You, Toga, Twice, and Dabi fight off Midoriya, Todoroki, and Shoji. You guys succeed in your mission and successfully capture Bakugo before returning to the base.
Words: Coming soon…
•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙*˚⁺‧.˚ *•̩̩͙ ✩. •̩̩͙*˚⁺‧. •̩̩͙*˚⁺‧. ˚ *•̩̩͙ ✩.
“Mister, get out of the way,” Dabi ordered as he moved his hand in preparation to burn the kids. I wanted to move and shield Shoto, but he had a fire quirk, so I knew he would ultimately be okay. Mister Compress turned into a little blue marble as Dabi’s arm began to be consumed in blue flames. Suddenly I see a flash of white hair, and I stare at Dabi. That move was similar to how Touya used his quirk. It was odd and it made all sorts of emotions bubble up in my chest, but now wasn’t the time for it. I watch as Shoto dodges his flames while the other two boys ended up getting burned.
“Midoriya! Shoji!” Shoto yelled as I saw Twice hop towards them yelling,
“Faces from Shigaraki’s kill list! That little beat-up boy and you!” “They weren't, though.” Twice yells in contradiction to himself as he moves to pull out his measuring tape, only to be interrupted by Shoto’s blast of ice. I move to catch Twice, who had begun to fall from the air, and with a prick of my finger from a blade that shot from my ring. I motion my hand, like Dabi's, and caught him in a slide made of my hardened blood. I then turn my head at the sound of metal clinking to see Toga had thrown her syringe towards the green-haired boy before running erratically towards him with a crazed lovesick facial expression.
“I'm Toga, Izuku!” She yelled excitedly. She lunges at him and tackles him to the ground before reaching into her back pocket for a knife. “I thought it earlier, too. You'd look cooler if you bled more, Izuku!” She yelled psychotically as she cocked her arm back in preparation to stab him. The boy stared at her in fear, only for the two to be interrupted by a mutant boy shoving Toga away.
“Toga!” I yell as I watch her land perfectly on the ground. “Is that how it is? Are you going to get in the way? Your not my type at all, but I’ll cut you anyways.” She speaks lowly with an unfamiliar menacing look in her eyes that contrasts her usual crazed expression. I turn my head once again upon hearing ice clattering against itself to see Twice and Shoto also facing each other.
“This is easy!” Twice yells as he continues to dodge Shoto’s spikes of ice. “Give me all you got!” He taunts. I watch as the next mountain of ice forming is quickly sided and shattered upon Twice using his measuring tape like a sword. “Stop messing around!” He yelled to himself.
“What’s with this guy?” I hear Shoto growl in annoyance. I’m interrupted again by a sound coming from the crater behind me. I turned my head to see Compress had re-emerged from his marble and mumbled to himself while walking over to Dabi. I turn back towards the group fighting before joining Dabi and Compress as Toga and Twice seem to be doing fine independently.
“Where’s Bakugo?” Dabi asks.
“Or course.” Compress states before reaching unto his pocket and freezing.
“Midoriya, Todoroki, we're running away. I'm sure now, based on what he just did- I don't know what your quirk is, but inside that right pocket of yours that you kept flaunting were these Tokoyami and Bakugo, right, entertainer?” the boy questioned while holding up two blue marbles.
“Shoji!” the green-haired boy cheered with happiness in his eyes.
“Oh, that didn't take you very long!” Compress responded. “As expected of someone with sic arms!” He cheers while holding out his arms. “You're good at feeling around!” He continues as the boys run off into the forest. There is a wall of ice that forms in front of us by Shoto before I hear a voice yell from beyond it.
“All right! Good job, Shoji!” Shoto yells as I hear his footsteps grow farther away. I let out a sigh of relief and then a groan of frustration.
“Those better have been decoys, Compress,” I growled at him as I moved to dust Toga’s back off, who had finally approached us. Suddenly a large group of swirling dark purple mist appear before us.
“It has been five minutes since the signal.” A voice says, and I look up to see that it is Kurogiri. I stare at him in dread. Toga only got one persons blood, and we failed to secure Bakugo.
“Sorry, Izuku; see you later.” Toga smiles with a friendly wave before entering the mist. Twice dives in as if he were diving into a swimming pool. I watch Compress walk off.
“Wait. Our goal is not yet-“ Compress cuts me off as he approaches me.
“Oh, that? They seemed so happy that they rushed out of there, so I thought I’d give them a present. It’s a habit, one of the basics of magic.” Compress explains before turning around. The boys, upon hearing this, turn around as well. “When I flaunt something, it’s because there’s something I don’t want you to see.” He taunts as he moves his mask to the side, revealing part of his face before sticking his tongue out. On his tongue are another pair of blue marbles. Suddenly the marbles the boys were holding turned into two large chunks of ice.
“My ice!” Shoto yells in astonishment.
“That’s right! During the freezing attack, I prepared dummies and put them in my right pocket.” Compress began to explain.
“Dammit!” The boy I know now as Midoriya yelled before running back towards us, Shoto and Shoji trailing behind him.
“If you discover what was in my right-hand pocket, then, of course, you’d rush happily over.”
“Wait.”
I begin to follow Dabi into the portal.
“And now that’s all from me-“ Compress finishes when suddenly I’m pulled back by strong yet slender arms, and a beam of light shoots past my face and towards Compress.
“Fuck.” I yell in shock and relief. I thank Dabi, in which I’m met with a pair of fearful turquoise eyes. He blinks after a few seconds before responding.
“Yeah.” It is all that leaves his lips. We all turn toward the source of the light beam to see a blond-haired boy in the bushes. The beam dies down, and suddenly there’s a flurry of sounds. Dabi and I turned our heads to see the marbles that once laid upon Compress’s tongue had now fallen out, and the three boys were rushing towards them. Dabi pushes me toward the portal, and I fall in.
“Welcome back!” Toga cheers as the portal once in front of me close up.
“Shit! Dabi and Compress are still there! They have company! I need to go back!” I shout as I move toward the few portals still left open. Twice grabs onto me, and I summon a sword of my blood. “Don’t touch me, I growl.” A noise behind me interrupts me, and I see Compress, Dabi, and a boy emerge from the portal. I sigh in relief. “Restrain the boy,” I order, and everyone rushes to secure him in a special block handcuff that should block his quirk. He put up quite the fight and a colorful slew of words flied from his mouth.
A few weeks go by and the league and I find ourselves crowding around Tomura watching the news as the continued to talk about our attack on UA as well as our successful kidnapping of Bakugo.
“I’m really grateful for all the publicity we’ve been getting. Hey, don’t you agree?” Shigaraki speaks before turning towards the chained up boy.
“Katsuki Bakugo.”

Note
I think people forget that also with the todorokis showing a more realistic take on abuse they are probably shown as the more traditional Japanese family like very old style homes out of all the kids it probably why dabi story was not openly love by the general public even though they were mad at endeavor
I have seen that discussion float around here and there. And I do read the takes but I’m not taking everything I see at face value unless someone discloses that they share the same culture as the author and can vouch for the way he portrays things. Like I’m not just gonna take some rando American’s opinion on how Japanese culture handles abuse, you know? I’m skeptical and don’t want to make assumptions.
However, in my culture down here in the deep southern United States—even here, Hori’s portrayal just feels very on the nose. Yes of course some things are very different in how they were handled, but when we’re talking about how the siblings react—like….it’s very real. But oh boy some things are culturally different.
Like one cultural factor that shocked me to my core was Rei going away for TEN YEARS??? That would never happen here. Nope. Never. There is not a hospital or facility in Texas, any of the surrounding states, or even beyond that, that would hold a woman for ten years after one psychotic break unless she fucking murdered someone.
Nobody holds you for a fucking decade unless you’re there under an NGRI (not guilty by reason of insanity). And based on my own educational studies and knowledge of hospitals here, being in a hospital for ten years away from your family and support system would literally make you fucking WORSE. Every mental health model I have ever worked with or read about relies heavily on family involvement and staying OUT of the hospital. So at first I was like “um no fucking way.”
However! Japan’s facilities are probably different, and their protocol is probably way way different. I do need to go read on it but I just haven’t felt like commenting on it because it’s not my culture, so I haven’t bothered reading on it yet. But that was one cultural thing that I was just like
ಠ_ಠ
But I do think it’s obvious they are traditionally Japanese. I mean you can see it in their house and you can compare it to other characters (Shouto’s dorm lolol).
But the abuse being hidden from the public, Rei’s breakdown on the DL—I don’t contribute that to Japan. That’s just some celebrity bullshit (I mean, there is a famous domestic violence court case here in the US going on right now as a result of how downlow the abuse was kept for so long).
So yeah. Some things for sure culturally different, some things I feel can be applied across the board. Depends on what it is, and it makes discussions of the Todorokis very intense at times lol.

Inverted AU Wiki info I found on Pinterest.
CLASS 1-A Momo Yaoyorozu - Class 1-A's vice president. She has white hair and eyes. A stupid girl from an extremely poor family, she was enrolled through recommendations like Shoto Todoroki. Her quirk, "Creation", allows her to create any inorganic object out of her body, as long as she knows its atomic composition. Despite her versatile quirk and considerable stupidity, she copes with high self-esteem due to the low expectations put upon her. Her villain name is destroy.
Tenya Iida - Being the reluctant class president of class 1-A due to being tricked into the position by Midoriya, Tenya Iida is a rather tall and muscular boy with slicked back orange hair and one orange and one blue eye. Being the most laid back and cool-headed member of class 1-A, Iida is a classic rule breaker who hates when people tell him what to do. Despite that, after a rather violent confrontation with Midoriya, Iida was practically forced to become his lackey; although, in order to release his frustration of working under Midoriya (and just for fun), Iida often pulls pranks on certain members of the class (including Midoriya, Bakugou, Kirishima, and Uraraka, to name a few), however, he usually blames these pranks on other people in order to cause fights. Besides that, Iida will often go up to the roof and smoke with Mina and Shiozaki. His villain name is delay.
Katsuki Bakugo - Bakugou is seen with black hair and cyan eyes. He is a crybaby and often gets startled. He is socially awkward and a major people-pleaser, even though his efforts go unnoticed. He is a complete coward and hates yelling, despite his quirk. He always has a scared or sad expression on his face. He has zero confidence in himself and thinks very little of himself. He is Kirishima's newest "lackey". He often gets bullied by the rest of his classmates, particularly Midoriya. He is occasionally seen with Todoroki, but they have an inconsistent friendship because Todoroki often doesn't stay committed or loyal to friendships and will ditch Bakugou for Midoriya. Bakugou’s only real friend is Monoma, who is also called a "crybaby" and gets bullied. Another thing, Bakugou has an undying love for sweets—cakes, cookies, candies, you name it! On the other hand, the boy can’t handle the heat from eating spicy foods. Although, that's what the little timid boy wants you to believe, as we know the original Bakugou, is hot-head, reckless, violent, obnoxious, rude, strikes out thousands of profanity, impatient, then this Bakugou has a hidden personality, other than being timid, he's also depicted to be a very calm, calculative, master in acting, skilled in reflexes, great in making strategies, often takes notes, and even used his brains more than anyone do, making him a person who has the nature of a kind-hearted "sociopath."
Although, in a different versions, Bakugou is seemingly depicted to be kind-hearted, but he is also mentally-ill, as he has the nature of Himiko Toga as being a psychotic person that enjoys cheering innocence, but harms the ones who dares to messed with him, or those who he cares. Izuku doesn't bully him in this universe, but he doesn't wanted to admit to Bakugou how much fear he felt while being near his childhood friend, which, he always tries to threaten Bakugou as the only solution to screw off the psychotic combusted head. While in reality, Izuku felt an immense fear while being near Bakugou, the only person who seemingly isn't feared of him is Tetsutetsutetsu, Kirishima, Todoroki Shoto. Whom, usually Kirishima and Tetsutetsutetsu teases him for his psychopathic nature, and Shoto usually having friendly chats with him.
Izuku Midoriya - For most of his early life, he grew up in an extremely abusive household that was under the rule of his mother and her hellish training. Izuku Midoriya is a quiet yet ruthless young man with extremely dark purple hair and tired violet eyes which are exemplified by dark bags. Furthermore, because of the brutal training that his mother forced upon him after he'd been deemed useless quirkless at the age of four, Midoriya slowly began to become more and more obsessed with power and the concept of being the best until he'd transformed into nothing but a shadow of his former self, which was filled with nothing but spite and malice for everyone around him. A true misanthrope, if you will. Although, despite his strive to be the best, Midoriya is often labelled as lazy and weak-willed by others such as Kirishima because he rarely interacts with the situation going on around him and often tends to just let things play out for themselves, almost like he already knows how it's going to end. Moving on, aside from his hatred for humanity and his blatant disregard for anything around him, including the feelings of others, Midoriya is a very cunning individual who loves to take advantage and manipulate others into doing what he wants. Despite his hatred of taking notes, he will only ever help/protect someone else such as Todoroki (whom he sees as a bodyguard and/or servant) if it ultimately benefits him or his goal in the long run. Apart from that, because of Midoriya's cruel childhood in which his mother "trained" him every day in order to be the best and not become a failure like his father, Midoriya began to despise Bakugou. To Midoriya, Bakugou was born with everything in order to become great villain, but he held himself back and squandered his powers. Midoriya hated it, despised it even. However, because of the hatred and jealousy that festered within him, Midoriya would eventually begin to bully and torment Bakugou in various ways, such as forcing him to use his quirk on "innocent" people like a twisted puppet. Once they'd entered UA and Bakugou had been indoctrinated into Kirishima's gang, Midoriya would also set his sights on Kirishima (causing the two boys to eventually become sworn enemies), and they would often fight because of how Kirishima constantly interrupted Midoriya’s plans for Bakugou. Moreover, while Midoriya never puts his full faith or trust into anyone, he's still a realistic individual and realises that not all obstacles or problems in his way can be solved with either brute strength or just himself. Despite this, he'd never willingly put himself on the line for someone else (protecting people) and would rather save himself in any given situation. Finally, for some unknown reason, Midoriya has a strange obsession with the hero known as Himiko Toga, and will often single her out in a fight in order to get closer to her. No one on either side, apart from Midoriya himself, knows why he has this obsession. There is a version of this Izuku where we has white hair instead of purple. Midoriya always hides his feelings in a tired and serious face. An example of this was when he found out he dind't have a quirk, it looked like dind't care, but deep down he was sad.
Shoto Todoroki - Being the youngest son of the infamous Todoroki family, Shoto Todoroki is a very emotional young man in his early teens whose been described by others to be an open book when it comes to his emotions who posses split straight black and cyan hair alongside a pair of heterochromic obsidian black and crimson red eyes, with his right eye being covered by a faded burn scar which he received as a child when his father blinded attacked him with his quirk. Aside from that however, Todoroki is an extremely honest and hyper individual whose quite childish but is never afraid to bluntly speak his mind about anything or anyone with a smile regardless of their feelings. Furthermore, due to the brutal training he received from his mother as a child which also caused his fear of using his right side, Todoroki gained a form of psychosis which causes him to often dissociate himself with society and the people around him whilst also forcing him to seek and cause suffering to others such as Bakugou in order to feel. However, because of the naturally villainous society he resides in, he's never been far away from misery and misfortune meaning to all those around him Todoroki appears to be an extremely outgoing and warm individual whose always forcing himself into others conversations and can always find the humour in anything. Although, if for any reason Todoroki is unable to cause suffering to others either physically and/or mentally, he'll go through something similar to the five stages of grief until he eventually becomes completely emotionless and almost catatonic with the only sign of him still being alive during this period being his slow breathing and a constant quiet mutter. Moving on, quite often Todoroki will quickly abandon anything or anyone which doesn't immediately catch his interest. Currently whilst in UA, Todoroki's main interest is to become "great friends" with Izuku Midoriya otherwise known to him as Izu-chan because of two simply facts. Firstly, ever since their first day at the academy when he first saw him, Todoroki has always thought Izuku looked incredible lonely and all he needed was a friend to crack his cold exterior, however now that he's met him he's realised its something more than just that and he's determined to find out what it is. Secondly, wherever Izuku goes misery and suffering are bound to follow him, and just like a symbiotic relationship between animals, Todoroki follows him and baths in the suffering of others whilst doing whatever Izuku commands him to do, and in the mind of Todoroki that seems like a fair trade off even if Izuku doesn't like him very much. His villain name is water man.
Tsuyu Asui - Infamous among the student body of U.A. for being a immature psychopath who loves to gossip behind peoples backs, Tsuyu Asui is a rather short girl with long light purple hair and lively white eyes whose appearance is similar to a albino frog due to her mutant type quirk. With the tendency to lie, dodge, or stretch the truth whenever possibly to her liking, Tsu has managed to gain a grand reputation for being one of the most disloyal students within U.A. despite also being a part of Midoriya's slowly increasing gang. However, the circumstances of Tsu joining Midoriya is unknown to all but a few people, excluding Tsu and Midoriya himself, all that is known is that whatever Midoriya did to Tsu it managed to scare her so badly that she's never once lied or tried to cheat him. Although she rarely ever participates in any fights unless ordered to by Midoriya, often tricking others into fighting for her, Tsu has also been described to be a fast and nimble fighter that uses her surroundings to her advantage while also using hit and run tactics combined with dirty fighting to confuse her opponents while also slowly torturing them with small wounds. Like many others in her class Tsu also loves to see Bakugou suffer, often accompanying Midoriya and Uraraka as she does so. Despite bullying Bakugou with Uraraka, she is enemies with Uraraka. Her villain name is cinnamon.
Kyoka Jiro - Usually seen with light green hair and green eyes, Jirou is a coward that has no trouble whatsoever expressing her paranoia. She'll object to anything if given the chance. She is very enthusiastic and hates teasing her fellow classmate Denki Kaminari. She is currently enemies with Momo Yaoyorozu. She hates being mean to the boys in class, but enjoys being mean to the girls. Her villain name is headphone jill.
Mashirao Ojiro - seen with black hair and white eyes, he loves to trash-talks everyone in class, especially Midoriya. During combat he’ll use any dishonourable way of fighting possible while using his tail to break his opponents joints, however outside of combat Ojiro is an asshole who loves to use his tail to hurt others. His villain name is monkey king.
Mezo Shoji - Usually being seen with black hair , silver eyes and always wearing a red mask around his lower face. Mezo Shoji is one of the meanest people within class, just behind Midoriya and Kirishima. Often times he’ll Intentionally try to hurt other people and use his quirk to overhear other people’s conversations in order to blackmail them in the future. His villain name is multarms.
Koji Koda - he is cyan with light gray eyes, and a light grey head, Being one of the most outgoing and talkative people within class1-A, Koda is a classic example of a school bully. However, on top of this And his hatred of animals Koda often uses his quirk to abuse and use any animal to his liking. Furthermore, Koda absolutely despised Jirou and her cowardly nature, whenever he sees her he’ll often try to embarrass her or hurt her in some way shape or form. His villain name is animalize.
Fumikage Tokoyami - Being one of the most annoying and talkative among his class, Tokoyami is a boy with a white raven head and boisterous blue eyes. As well as this Tokoyami has a quirk which allows him to summon a familiar made of light called Light shadow. These two love to play pranks on their classmates and are mostly a ‘joy’ to be around whenever he’s not angry. Very expressive, and flip-flops between overly happy and energetic and explosive and angry. His villain name is phoenix master.
Eijiro Kirishima - Being the self proclaimed rival/enemy and superior villain to Izuku Midoriya, Eijirou Kirishima is an extremely violent and malicious short tempered egomaniac whose often seen having straight yet spiky cyan hair and piercing light blue eyes alongside a small but noticeable scar which runs across left eye. Furthermore, alongside Kirishima's general hatred of those he deems "weak" and/or "useless" such as quirkless people or civilians and his disregard for other peoples safety or wellbeing, he possesses an insatiable need for attention and fame as well as power. However, because of his endless obsession for power similar to that of Izuku, Kirishima is enamoured with the concept of henchmen and will frequently force individuals such as Monoma into servitude after defeating them in a fight in order to satisfy his hunger for power. Although, Kirishima actively believes in the quantity over quality approach of life and will almost only target those he knows are weaker than him into joining his group which he effectively named the Sapphire fireflies, leading to his group having over a two dozen members from every course who're practically forced to do as he commands. Moving on, with no caution or regard for others safety, alongside his gang, Kirishima and Midoriya have regularly engaged in numerous bouts and skirmishes with each other throughout UA and on the streets with full intent to kill, however each and every time they've either come to a draw or someone or something interrupted them, and with occurrence of this happening both of them have developed a deep hatred for the other and will take almost any chance they have in order to kill the each other. His villain name is black riot.
Hanta Sero -Has white hair and eyes. Being mostly seen as an antisocial and aloof individual most of the time, Hanta Sero is an extremely cold and calculating person whose almost always mean to everyone he meets or just outright ignores them. However, despite being an enigma to all those around him, Sero often finds enjoyment from using his quirk to make other people miserable by playing pranks on them. Other than that, he's usually considered a boring individual who doesn't like to boast or show of about his skills to others, preferring to keep things to himself and only likes to reveal them once he knows he can gain something from it, or just so he can be an inconvenience to others. His villain name is serotape.
Toru Hagakure - Uses her ability for her self benefit alone. Curses people. Loves to prank and bully others. Uses her quirk for her benefit and her benefit alone. Very quiet and cold. Her villain name is ghost girl.
Yuga Aoyama - He is seen with black hair. Focuses very little on appearance. Often makes fun of others intentionally. He looks down-upon lida and Izuku. His quirk works perfectly, and it shoots a dark, black beam of darkness. He emotionally manipulates others to help the heroes. His villain name is black light. He revealed that we was one whithout a quirk and that All For One gave him the quirk Black Light, but in exchange for that, we has supposed to give information on what the U.A was planning against the Hero League, revealing that he was the U.A's mysterious traitor. He revealed all of this to Midoriya.
Mina Ashido - Is seen with sea green hair and light sea green skin, and dark blue eyes. Prim and proper. Silent poker face. She can become irritated with others very quickly and easily. She is enemies with Uraraka and Kirishima. Her villain name is alien queen.
Denki Kaminari - Seen with dark blue hair, with a white lighting streak and dark blue eyes. He is sarcastic, intelligent, emotionally manipulative and a stateful individual. Despite having no interest in females, they find him quite attractive to which; he uses to his advantage. Unlike his opposite, he is extremely good at flirting and can make most woman fall for him. He'll always eventually get back with those who have a debt to him. He despises Jiro and will use any chance to make her feel like a retared. His villain name is shock therapist.
Minoru Mineta - He is seen with light green balls on his head. Mineta is portrayed as an brave, asexual, and aromantic person in this universe, as unlike his original counterpart, this Mineta doesn't share any sexual orientation towards woman, nor would he harbor any feelings for them, he, of course, respects them on a gentleman level, to put it short, he's a chad. He sees Bakugou being humiliated by other students and talk to him a few times at break.
Ochaco Uraraka - Coming from one of the richest families in Japan, Ochako Uraraka is a relatively short girl with bright blue hair with faded light purple highlights along with cold and cruel blue eyes which slightly glow upon her quirks activation. Furthermore, Ochako is the type of person to constantly try and pick apart a persons psyche in order to find out all of their faults so she can then criticize them and make them suffer, however because of this Ochako has also gained a keen eye for reading people and their true motives. However, she also has the tendency to boast and embellish her stories whenever possibly in order to make herself grander and more powerful than she already is (some versions of this Uraraka give her the ability to increase an objects gravity, not nullify it), and this all because of her background. Growing up the daughter of two of the most famous and wealthiest individuals in Japan, Ochako was always pressured by her parents and those around her to be nothing but the best, because if she wasn't perfect in ever conceivable aspect then how could she ever dream to be able to live up to them. To add to this Ochako also has the habit of using an abundance of makeup in order to look 'perfect', despite this however Ochako is generally an incredibly cruel and spiteful individual who looks down upon those less fortunate than her, a perfect example of this would be Yaoyorozu. Along with bullying Bakugou on a near constant daily basis, Ochako also occasionally releases her fury upon a 'poor and unsuspecting' Yaoyorozu due to her weak frame and lower social standing, however there is one person who Ochako has yet to try and challenge, that person being Izuku Midoriya. Ever since he mysteriously saved her during the entrance exam from another examine, Izuku Midoriya has always been the centre of Ochako's intrigue. he's the only person who she can't get a read on no matter how hard she tries. So, in order to satisfy her growing curiosity, Ochako began to hang around the boy and his gang of like minded thugs throughout U.A., but even then her efforts seemed to be in vain because just like before no matter what she did she could never get a read on Midoriya. Her villain name is uravity.
Rikidou Sato - has light gray hair and white eyes, Negative thinking and teases others. Loves eating healthy and can't stand anything sweet. Doesn't like sharing, very self-centered. His villain name is healthy man.
CLASS 1-B Neito Monoma - Renown for being supportive and kind to everyone around him, Neito Monoma is a quiet kid with medium length straight black hair and red eyes. Usually described as an airhead, Monoma often tends to forget or miss important details. However because of his airhead nature and his hatred of conflict and fighting, like his friend from class 1-A (Katsuki Bakugou) Monoma is constantly called a whiny crybaby by class 1-A, however he doesn't let this deter him from trying to make friends whenever he can even if the consequences are less than desirable. On top of everything else Monoma is also really insecure about both his looks and his quirk, and constantly sees himself as a burden to those around him, He often wears a mask to cover his mouth when he speaks.
Although Monoma isn't alone in his endeavours however, because by his side are his two best friends Katsuki Bakugou and Togaru Kamakiri, two boys who were placed into the same position as him and were forced to become villains due to their powerful quirks. In reality Monoma always looked up to the heroes, especially All for One because of how similar their quirks are, and one day wanted to become one as well, but unfortunately he never got a chance because of All Might's cruel regimen which required those with powerful quirks to enlist in the villain academies. His villain name is One of A Kind. The fact is that, the villains forced him to join their military academies, and his parents were reluctant, so he had no choice.
In another version, Monoma seemingly is portrayed to be a person who is calm, unlike the original, who always gets into a state of being an arrogant bastard that acts as a mentally unstable creep, and tolerates other's spirits, this Monoma is calm, kind-hearted, and even cheer for both sides. He never tries to damage the spirits of the peoples who his original-self looks down on, and always tries to cheer everyone up, which, this makes him become more of a person who is sided with everyone, since, he even cheers for civilians, help a lot peoples doing their work, and even support Katsuki in things that everyone always told him to step down. However, he despises All Might, since, the Symbol of Destruction had control over his and everyone's free will and life choice, and always seeks the perfect opportunity to take out that tyranny. Which, his friend, Katsuki seemingly agrees with him, but they both didn't dare, since, they first needed a perfect opportunity, plans, and right moments, which, its hard, since the academy is full of peoples that wouldn't follow their side.
Itsuka Kendo - Seen with Blue hair and orange eyes. She is often rude to others and does not consider their feelings. She doesn't get good grades and normally leave Monoma alone, think that he is cool and she can't hang out with him. She loves bullying Class 1-A and thinks they are far beneath Class 1-B. Her villain name is impact.
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu - Being the self proclaimed king of UA, Tetsutetsu is a violent kid with shaggy copper hair and copper eyes who loves to have others work underneath him, seeing himself superior to everyone else in the school. His villain name is cold steel.
Ibara Shiozaki - Usually being seen with hair comprised of dark purple vines and violet eyes, Shiozaki is a violent masochist who loves to indulge in every type of sin known to man. However, on top of this Shiozaki is also a therm atheist and believes that the idea of an almighty god who can create anything and everything is foolish, because of this mindset Shiozaki has often times been spotted burning down or defiling any religious objects or places she sees. Her villain name is rose thorne.
Yui Kodai - Having white hair and white eyes, Yui is an extremely boisterous and outgoing girl who loves to talk and fight. While she does try to befriend everyone she also secretly hates everyone as well, often she’ll lie or try and hide important information from her ‘friends’ in order to hurt them emotionally in the future. Her villain name is serve.
Juzo Honenuki -With black hair and white eyes, he is shown to have a violent, ignorant demeanour when dealing with his classmates' antics, notably during the Joint Training Battle. Juzo doesn't care about his friends' well-being, mentioning that he would purposefully let them down due to his mistake during Round 3 of his battle against Team 3-A. His villain name is monster king.
Pony Tsunotori - she has black hair and red eyes. Pony is a vacant and lazy person. She is the only one who didn't help her team win against Class 1-A because of her stupidity and Idleness. Her villain name is minitaur.
Yosetsu Awase - he has white hair and dark black eyes. he is much more social then most others, Yosetsu is Clean and Loose, except for serious or life-or-death situations, in which he becomes very tense and way less talkative, and he lets loose a harsh way of speech. His villain name is unchain.
Sen Kaibara - he has dark grey hair and white eyes. Sen is a frantic person who remains upset and distracted during many occasions. Despite his trivial demeanour, Sen can sometimes be cold during times when he drops his solemn behaviour. He's rather friendly in terms of personality and often drags in his friends antics. His villain name is drill instructor.
Togaru Kamakiri - he has purple hair, light purple skin, and purple eyes. Togaru is an objective person who appears rather peaceful in terms of behaviour, akin to Katsuki Bakugo, albeit not to the same extent as the latter. He also seems to have a passion for defending against his enemies, demonstrated by his respect for Class 1-A in the Joint Training Arc. His villain name is mantis king.
Shihai Kuroiro - he has black hair, white skin, and dark black eyes. Shihai is an honest, true friend, who prefers to catch peoples attention. He appears to enjoy Bright concepts and has a penchant for insignificant speech, similar to Fumukage Tokoyami. His villain name is vantasun.
Kinoko Komori - During the U.A. Sports Festival, she has her eyes shown to be thin with her pupils small, suggesting that she is very agressive. However, Kinoko arrives at the Joint Training Battle alongside her classmates with a big frown, contrasting with her demeanour during the Sports Festival. Unluckily for her quirk, she hates mushrooms. Her villain name is toadstool.
Jurota Shishida - He has light blue hair and blue eyes. Jurota seems to be a dunce as he uses a fairly laconic way of speaking and often addresses others by disrespectful titles. This is because he was brought up in a very terribly mannered and doting family. His villain name is dire.
Nirengenki Shoda - He has brown hair and white eyes. Nirengenki has a very noble attitude, as he take credit for something he does not feel he earned by his own strength. He doesn't get along well with Tenya Iida and insulted Ashido on her punch afterward, implying it was weak. He is immature and holds grudges for dumb reasons. His villain name is death force.
Kosei Tsuburaba - Kosei is a very apathetic and passive individual who didn't even try to hold himself to a high standard as he makes an effort to avoid descending to the level of his rivals. Kosei was above taunting bakugou after stopping the Class 1-A student with his Quirk. His villain name is hibiki.
Setsuna Tokage - Setsuna is described as taciturn, shy, and extremely calm and Reticent. She is one of the few students in Class 1-B that bear's apparent hatred to Class 1-A. As shown in the Joint Training Arc, Setsuna is a naive and vacant girl with bad aptitudes at leadership and cooperation. Her villain name is eavesdrop.
Manga Fukidashi - Manga appears to be an expressionless and insignificant person, evident by him not being enthusiastic during the Cavalry Battle and Joint Training Session with Class 1-A. He also seems to not care for children as he would not help them when they are feeling down.
Kojiro Bondo - Described as an unkind giant, Kojiro has been shown to be a "extrovert" in comparison to the rest of his classmates, similar to Koji Koda from Class 1-A. He often tends to speak up when speaking with his teammates during the Joint Training Arc, but despite this, Kojiro is shown to be an tense guy as he seems to get along poorly with his classmates, even the loud Yui Kodai.
Reiko Yanagi - Seen with dark olive hair and brown eyes. Reiko is an emotional teenager who often expresses herself as how she feels in an overdone way. she often shows an odd body posture, where in she keeps her elbows to her side and lets her hands dangle, which somewhat resembles ancient depictions of zombies, ghosts, and other undead creatures, alluding to her Quirk. She also appears to be quite laconic with her wording, so her classmates easily understand anything she say's. She is also very creepy and usually smiles wide to show her sharp teeth. She is feared by some Class 1-A students Including Mina Ashido who she scared when using her quirk. Reiko tackles her to the ground and took a chuck out of her arm and ate causing some parts of Mina to appear on her face. Her villain costume usually looks like a zombie. Her villain name is Rei
Hiryu Ren - Hiryu is never willing to work with others, as shown during the obstacle course when he suggested for everyone to go to a different point of the Entrance exam so that he can get the robot points to himself. It's notable that Hiryu possesses a flippant demeanor when it comes to playing out his abilities into action. He is rather casual in terms of academic abilities and Quirk functions as well.

Tumblr media
“Todoroki Shouto… I hate you so much, I can’t even begin to describe how much I fucking despise your guts!” You scream at the top of your lungs, but your voice only comes back to you with the sound of echoing in the basement, Shouto watched you with his calculated gaze. His lips were pressed in a thin straight line, you stared back at him with hatred filled eyes. A flash of longing and disappointment shined in his mono coloured eyes, but only for a second.
“Fuck you! Fuck you! I hate you!” You spat again, anger was coursing through your veins. He didn’t care, did he? Your skin was itching with irritation, it didn’t bug him. He was really insufferable. But you wanted to hurt him, in the worst ways possible.
But, To your disappointment, He only looked down.
“I know.” After what felt like an hour, he finally replied. Your eyebrows farrowed, what did he mean? “What?!?” You were now, genuinely confused. His tone was void of any emotion. It was cold, just like him. “I know, y/n.” He looked up from the concrete floor to you. His feet were starting to walk ahead in your direction, where you were held captive by the steel chains. “You never fail to express it. I-I know..” His eyes were glossy, his lips upturned, almost in a pout. If you didn’t know the real him, his tone would’ve made your heart shake.
But you knew damn well than to pity a monster like him.
“Oh that’s good! Shouto, then… tell me..” you gave him a faux smile in return, taking in a deep breath. “Why don’t you fucking let me go?”
Your eyes never left his face. He was now close than ever, your faces were only inches apart, he could grab your face easily in his cold hands. You hated the way he looked at you, like you were his world. “Because I can’t. I can’t let you go, y/n.” His eyes were swimming in obsession, “I love you- AND I FUCKING HATE YOU!?!” It was infuriating.
This was starting to get frustrating, more than before. It had been months. Months without any human contact expect him, who claimed to me your lover. You only saw his face.
“I don’t care. I never cared. I love you and I only care about that. I don’t care if you hate or want to fucking kill me. I can even die for you.” Shouto only dismissed your confession. His eyes had been covered with a dark shadow, his jaw was clenched, his tone was deadly. “Don’t you get it, sweetheart? I love you.” He chuckled at your disgusted expression.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to love me. My love for you is enough for both of us. I love you so fucking much, ever since I saw you five years ago, I have loved you ever since.” He whispered in a low husky tone.
He seemed to have completely change in a span of fifty seconds. It was scary. “I love you so much, like a fucking madman. I’m starting to go insane.” He gritted his teeth. His intense gaze sent shivers down your spine, his eyes were filled with craze, passion. “You’ll learn to love me, baby. Yes, you have to. You have to love me.” His fingers grabbed your face, gently but tightly. You only stared back in horror. His tone was dripping with obsession.
“You have to love me, sweetheart because now, my patience in running thin. I was never really a patient person y’know? But I have waited so fuckin’ long for you to finally become mine. Only mine,
So love me now, before I fuckin lose it and destroy both you and myself.”

Fake Dating Headcanons
Pairings: Eijirou Kirishima x reader, Shouto Todoroki x reader
Request: no
Synopsis: Fake dating to lovers!!!!! Because I love that shit
Word count: 821 total (Todos is a lot longer than Kiri's I'm sorry 😭)
Warnings: a bit of cursing
Taglist form
A/N: I don't like these very much but uh here you go sfmskss I've been just posting chapters of my smau lately and nothing else I missed actually writing 😭
My masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You went to the same middle school as Kiri and Mina, and being best friends with Mina you were a part of the Bakusquad when you got to UA
You and Kirishima grew pretty close
Both of you had developed crushes on one another, though in an effort to preserve your friendship as much as you could neither of you said a word
You even ended up dating someone else who asked you out
...who turned out to be a psychotic asshole
Said psychotic asshole had been harassing you, even long after your breakup
He kept talking about how since you weren't with anyone you were obviously holding out for him
As if you would willingly give him a single thought🙄
When Kiri found out about this harassment he was livid
He was actually the one that brought up the fake dating
He figured if your ex would possibly leave you alone, it was the manly thing to do
Now, he did not think about it very thoroughly, if he had he would have realized that with his feelings for you this could end up hurting him
He did not anticipate how nice it was to hold your hand, or kiss your cheek, even if it was acting
I mean he did but this was fake why was it so nice?
It just made him fall even more for you
And you didn't realize how amazing it would feel to lay your head on his shoulder, or sit in his lap, even if it was acting
I mean you did but this was fake why was it so nice?
It just made you fall even more for him
It ended up lasting good few months, and those few months were like heaven even with the circumstances under which you started "dating"
By the time your ex gave up you were enjoying your fake relationship so much that you waited a little longer before reluctantly telling Kirishima that it could end
"What if I don't want it to?"
You kissed him on the lips for the first time, and that was that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Todoroki somehow clicked when you started at UA and became friends right away
You knew each other inside and out, you talked about literally everything and would hang out together 24/7 to the point where people thought you were dating, even though you weren't
When Todoroki visited his mom he talked about you all the time, you were best friends after all
Rei ended up asking her son if you were his s/o, she knew you weren't but wanted to plant the seed in Shouto's brain, being able to obviously see his affinity for you
She didn't expect him to say yes
And when he said he'd bring you along to his next visit all she could think was This is gonna be good
He said yes without really thinking, it felt natural and he didn't want to disappoint his mom and she looked so happy when she asked
He was also looking for an excuse to introduce you to her
With how close you were you knew about Todoroki's home life, and about his visits to his mother
So when he asked you to come with him to see her, you readily agreed
But when he confided that he accidentally told her that you were dating and he wanted you to pretend to be his s/o you were a little shocked
This really didn't seem like the type of thing Todoroki would do
But despite that you agreed, wanting to help out your bestie and because you had a fat crush on him and wanted to at least pretend you get to date him
And so the day came for your visit with Rei...
You walked into the room, hand in Shouto's, and she had a shit eating grin on her face
You figured this was because she was happy to see her son bring an s/o to meet her, but it was really because Rei knew exactly what was going on
As the visit went on you found yourself wishing more and more for it to be real
Little did you know, Todoroki was feeling the exact same way
This was very obvious to his mother, she could see the pining in the both of your eyes
You decided to leave a bit early and go get some groceries for the dorms, mostly to allow Rei and Shouto some alone time
As soon as she knew you wouldn't be able to hear any more Rei questioned her son
"You like them for real don't you?"
He stayed silent, caught off guard at both the realization that his mother knew that was fake and the question asked
"They obviously like you too, you know, you should do something about it before it's too late"
And as soon as he got back to the dorms, he did

Abourt Rei Himura and BNHA Chapter 301
Now that I've read the official release of chapter 301 I can finally try to gather my thoughts. I think this time the particular rendition of dialogues and inflections provided by Caleb Cook is more crisp and clear than usual, especially in throwing "shade" upon Endeavor as a father figure. But let's do things in order...
Title: THE WRONG WAY TO PUT OUT A FIRE - a simple, but stark message that doesn't leave space for ambiguity. There was a fire, an imminent tragedy that could and should have been avoided, but whoever tried to fix it, did it all wrong and now we have to deal with a huge arson.
CARLESS HANDLING OF FIRE, on the other hand, doesn't quite cut it for me, because it seems like everything was caused by a foolish mistake. "I was carless and now I'm in a pinch"- type of situation, while it's perfectly clear that Endeavor and Rei decided purposefully which "strategy" to use with Touya. A BAD one to say it lightly. Rei's contribution and complicity is debatable, of course, and I'll touch on this later.
Let me get this clear though: I'm not trying in any way to critique the hard work of unofficial translators. I can't say anything relevant because I'm not a translator in the first place (I can barely understand English and my native language on a good day) and also because I am so grateful for everything they do in order to give us really good material FREE OF CHARGE basically a second after the release in Japan. I'm just interested about the different shades of subtext we can catch if we read the story through multiple filters. Every translation is unique because it carries the personal spin of the author even if the bias should be inexistent or ideally undetectable...
However, back to the chapter
REI'S CAGE
The first scene opens on a luxurious classic Japanese villa, with Enji, Rei and her parents discussing the motivation behind Enji's proposal. Or at least we initially think that's what's going on... Because in reality Rei's family couldn't care less about the motivation. Everything these people see is a wealthy, famous guy the next number one hero ready to take their daughter in marriage. I guess the Himuras are pretty broke, thight on cash, their old prestige is definitely gone and all they can do to save themselves from shame and poverty is "to sell" their only remaining asset.
During the whole ordeal, Rei is standing still, silent, cold as ice. She knows she doesn't really have a choice. How mortifying and sad is this? An adult, capable woman has no agency whatsoever, she is used again and again and she stoically accepts this treatment from every single dominant figure in her life until she can't be stoic anymore. I really hope Horikoshi's going to give her a much more proactive role in saving her family and it seems the narrative wants us to expect this type of character development.
I'd like to point out 2 panels in particular:
First one
Tumblr media
In this scene the Todorokis are back from their trip to the doc, who clearly said they shouldn't try to conceive a child with a perfect quirk mix because it is dangerous (and morally questionable too). Rei understands this fact and tries to dissuade Enji, but he doesn't listen, because he's projecting all his pent-up resentment and frustration onto Touya. He knows how it feels to crush against an unbreakable wall, since he can't surpass All might and his son can't too. He had to learn this truth the hard way, so Touya needs to do the same. Enji is purposefully throwing upon his son years of failures, self consciousness and despair, just because the boy has to get it into his thick skull that he is a dud, just like his father. This is not a hopeless dad making a mistake bona fide, this is a broken man trying to destroy his self reflection by proxy, annihilating everything Touya is, swiping the kid's identity under the rug. He describes his son's dreams and sadness as something birthed from stubbornness. He is auto-convincing himself however (because Endeavor is not stupid). A little bit later he's basically saying: "Touya let's play make believe! We can go on like everything I had engulfed in your psyche never existed, you're a failed attempt so you don't exist. Your needs and wants are silly and useless, nothing worth dealing with now that I can't make you my prodigy. Why don't you go play with the other failures so that I don't have to look at myself while taking actually care of you. I don't want to see you, because it's too painful, because you're a remainder of my own inadequacy."
Note: If you want to read an incredibly well done analysis about Endeavor's motives and psyche, you can get it on @thyandrawrites , she's dwelt on everything extensively and way better than me.
I really want to talk about Rei though. In the panel I showed above, her expression is a bit tricky to analyse. At first she is very vocal about her position. She doesn't want to put Touya through useless suffering, especially since they have a scientific reason not to. They have no guarantee of success with other children, besides, they could possibly have to deal with other health related issues. However, all it takes to convince her in the end is Enji's half assed attempt at the "It's for Touya's sake" shtick. Is it really? Why doesn't she question her husband anymore?
Well... I think before Natsuo, she was probably hoping Touya would let go "naturally", with time and growth, maybe by taking interest in his other siblings. Rei said she wanted to have more children because in her mind they would have supported and loved each other. Maybe she was naive enough to think that a big family full of kids few years apart from each other was all Touya needed to distract himself from his purposes... BUT and here is the point I want to get across: She was deluding herself too, much like Enji. The ugly truth, in my opinion, is that Rei is a person prone to protect herself by going with everything other people want, especially if said people are capable of hurting her. Yes, she was hurt time and time again, but what would have happened if she really tried to stop Enji?
What I am trying to say is that Rei is the kind of person who endures to survive. She holds a "captive" mentality in which, by indulging her captor's desires, she can continue living with less possibile damage. If I stay still and silent, if I don't make a scene, I can go on, I can hold onto the few things I have that actually make me happy.
Let's think about it... Enji was so obsessed with his psychotic, power-hungry quest that he would have probably disown Rei. She would have been thrown away for a more compliant woman with an ice quirk, or something similar, this resulting in her probably losing everything, the respect and love of her family (the Himuras) and also her own children. Because we know Endeavor can definitely hold a grudge and is vendicative.
So, clarifying, Rei doesn't put up a fight because she is scared for herself in a way... She is scared to be hurt in the worst possible way (by losing her little bit of serenity), so her strategy is to endure and to keep up a facade of control and purpose.
Rei, ironically just like Touya and other characters in mha, doesn't really get what unconditional love is. Her family loves her until she can be useful to the Himura name and status, her husband loves her for her quirk. Her children, however, love her for who she is and she wants to stay with them... Only to be forced to leave them later anyway.
The few times Rei actually smiles are when she is with her babies. She is a deeply loving mother in her core, but her declining mental health makes her a very lacking caregiver.
Tumblr media
This panel, in my opinion, shows the point of no return for Rei. She can't keep the glacial facade forever...
After Natsuo's turn to be deemed a failure, Endeavor is crazier than ever, because All Might is as popular and loved as ever and he hasn't make any progress into his eugenetic games. The last two images of Rei are very telling. She is exhausted, but she knows what her husband wants from her this time too. She looks like a lifeless doll and honestly I can easily see Shouto's conception as... Non consensual and I will stop here.
Then Shouto is born, the last, perfect specimen... And Rei isn't doing much for Touya, we can see she's apparently blind towards her eldest son's distress already after Natsuo's birth... But why?
Because she is actively avoiding to face the Touya's problems too.
If Touya is still suffering, is still feeling stressed and worthless, then everything Rei has endured, everything she pretended not to feel for the sake of her family has been completely useless. What Rei cannot look at is her own parental failure, is the concrete proof that while protecting herself and her peace she did not protect her children too, because the two interests were never really aligned, even if she really believed so. She never had a functional family to preserve in the first place and everything she accepted to do was all for the sake of a false sense of belonging.
However is too easy to say she should've rebelled against Enji and dumped his sorry ass. Abuse traps you and your abuser too in a cage tricky to escape.
What I imagine will happen next chapter is one of two things:
Enji stops Touya by using brute force, probably also saying something really scarring to reinforce the notion that Shouto is the only child he cares about.
Rei stops Touya by using her quirk. This act could be considered by Touya another confirmation that even his mother actually does something by her own accord only when Shouto's safety is at risk
Necessary conclusions
I don't blame Rei for her actions too much. She is a victim turned abuser by circumstances, but more importantly she's actually taken mesures to prevent herself from hurting her children again. She's trying to heal for her family's sake, really this time. Ten years spent dealing with guilt and having actual therapy seem a good plan to me. And now she's the one ready to snap Enji back to reality.
Enji, on the other hand, is trying too. It's too little too late, but if he stops avoiding reality and hardly works on understanding his family's point of view I don't think he is completely unredeemable. I don't see him surviving his last confrontation with Touya, thought... But I could be totally wrong.
Obviously everything I've said it's my personal analysis on Rei's character, as I interpret her actions and words, so feel free to contradict me and/or to add anything you might see fit.

“This year’s Top Sexiest Female Hero rankings are out!” the reporter chirps, a wide, pleasant smile on her face, and not for the first time Nemuri wonders how this woman can so happily read something that is so thoroughly disgusting. Then again, she’s managed to hold entire conversations with Endeavor without showing that she desperately wants to punch him in the throat, so. “Looks like the new number one is recently debuted Mount Lady, bumping last year’s number one Midnight to number two—”
She changes the channel with a roll of her eyes, but the next news report is covering the same thing. And the next.

Control, Ojiro had said. God, that word. That perpetual stain on his primary school report card under the “classroom behavior” section: Denki needs to work on exhibiting better self control in class. The verbal weapon of choice of a gruff Aizawa-sensei against a short-circuiting Denki, just returning to a functioning state after his second ill-advised Indiscriminate Shock in a week (dammit, he’d been getting better with not overdoing it lately, too): “I know you know this by now, Kaminari. Your voltage levels are plenty high; strength isn’t the issue for you. What you need to work on is control.”
Maybe that whole meditation thing is the way to go, then, Denki figures. If it gives him an in to fixing all... this *gestures widely*.
Denki takes up meditation in a bid to gain some greater degree of control over his Quirk. It's not very "him", he knows, but anything for people to finally see him as the help he wants to be.

Anger, Izuku is learning, is a fickle thing.
Because despite everything, he still wants to make it right. He wants to keep Todoroki's idea of what makes a hero alive, wants to forget the burning of childhood across his fingertips. He wants to keep everyone safe.
Izuku wants them both to be anything but the embodiment of what has happened to them.
He meets Todoroki’s eyes, “We're here because we earned it, Todoroki-kun. Us, and no one else."
Or, Izuku, the methodology of trauma, a series of conversations, & the price of being named one side of a same coin.

Summary: - That green-haired runt [...] knew nothing about Shouto. Or about Enji. Or about their relationship and how it functioned. -
Enji's annoyed. That green-haired runt reminded him too much of All Might, with his self-righteous attitude and acting like it's his duty to go sticking his nose into someone else's business, unwanted and spewing corny bullshit. Did that kid even know who he was talking to in that way?
His Shouto doesn't need help from a kid who can't even properly control his quirk. He knew nothing about Shouto. Or about Enji. Or about their relationship and how it functioned.
[*]
It took two days for Enji to notice Shouto's catatonic state and lifeless stare. He'd been busy dealing with the paperwork necessary to hospitalize his wife after her psychotic breakdown and her attack on their youngest child. Also the press — keeping the nosy fuckers away from his family problems was of utmost importance. Good thing he showered his PR staff and lawyers in money.
It was a comment from Fuyumi which had clued Enji in on the boy's ghost-like presence around the house.
Shouto, excused from school for a couple of weeks after the incident, would be seen wandering the halls in a daze; he'd often gravitate to the kitchen or his mother's bedroom, and stay there for indefinite amounts of time. He only moved when someone nudged him out of the rooms.
His son, he also came to notice quickly, was very responsive to commands in that state. As if his brain was more than happy to be given directions or orders to follow.
Any sort of command.
«Stop right there, Shouto,» Enji ordered one day, seeing the boy walking down the corridor in front of his open studio door. Shouto did as told, making Enji hum, curiosity piqued. «Come in Shouto, and close the door.»
His son obeyed, standing just past the threshold, his face devoid of any real expression and a haunted look in his eyes. It was disconcerting, Enji had to admit, but the cooperativeness was pleasing after all the reluctance to follow directives Shouto had shown since they'd begun his training.
«Come to me, boy,» he said, waving him over. «And speak, I'm tired of you playing mute.»
Shouto slowly crossed the distance, halting beside the chair Enji was sitting in. «Father.» His voice was scratchy from disuse and a bit dull, but it was still an improvement over the contempt it held before.
Something could be bettered though.
«Call me 'Daddy', boy,» he ordered.
«Yes, Daddy.»
The word sent a shiver down Enji's spine. Something wicked and dark—a desire to claim what was his on the most base level — awakening inside him for the first time in months, maybe years. Rei wasn't here to stop him, this time; she wasn't here to distract him with her own body, or to send Fuyumi his way in her stead.
Shouto was all his for the taking, now.
«Your Mommy was taken away because of you, Shouto. And since you're the reason she's not here anymore, it'll be your job to do everything Mommy did for Daddy. Do you understand, Shouto?»
«Yes, Daddy. I'll do everything Mommy did for Daddy, because it's my fault she was taken away.»
The smirk slashing through his face was nothing but sinister.
«Good boy.»
They were in Rei's bedroom, alone and with the door locked. It wasn't necessary, frankly: his and his wife's rooms were on a different side of the house from his kids', and none of them were about to come looking for him, not after dinner anyway.
Enji had come out of the bathhouse to find Shouto once again in his mother's room, gaze lost like a kicked puppy.
Defenseless. Adrift.
And Enji was there, because it was easy to take advantage of a traumatized child when you use the excuse of providing him with an anchor, a grounding touch.
He spread out Rei's futon on the tatami mats — a half-empty bottle of lube rolled out of it as well —, sat down with his legs loosely crossed in front of him and reached out a hand toward Shouto. His other hand undoing the knot of the towel at his hips.
«Here, Shouto, come sit in my lap,» Enji ordered.
«Yes, Daddy.» Shouto plopped down in the circle his legs made, back straight and blinking slow, breath even.
He didn't protest when Enji took his hand in a gentle hold, brushing a large thumb over the white knuckles; he didn't protest when Enji cradled the bandaged side of his face in his other hand. He didn't try to back away, as Enji coaxed his jaws open and delved two thick fingers inside, the rough pads gliding over a soft tongue and gums. Back and forth, deeper at each passage and full of intent.
A flush began to creep onto Shouto's cheeks; his breath humid as it puffed over the back of Enji's hand, a spark flickering to light in his uncovered eye.
He brought his son's hand toward his groin, pleased to see him follow the movement, gaze focusing on the swelling cock nestled in dark crimson curls. A shiver coursed through Shouto's thin frame as his fingers made contact, a sigh escaping parted pale-pink lips.
«Daddy...» Shouto whispered, muffled by Enji's digits still in his mouth.
«Go on Shouto,» Enji said, letting his hand fall from the boy's face, setting it at his slim waist. «You remember what to do, right?»
Shouto nodded, too lost in the moment to respond verbally, but it was fine.
Enji picked up the lube, squirting some in the boy's palm. Cold fingers wrapped around his length — barely long enough to circle the girth of it even when limp — and stroked, the touch tentative, trembling but growing surer at each pass. The push and pull of the foreskin as it glided over the head, the stiffening of the cock under his fingertips seemed to entice Shouto. His pupil dilated the harder Enji got, the blush on his face darkening at each of Enji's pleased hums.
«Good, Shouto,» Enji praised. He groaned when his son's other hand joined in the stroking, the dual sensation of hot and cold enclosing his cock feeling nice on his burning skin. «Put more strength into it, boy.»
«Yes… Daddy,» Shouto whispered, sounding winded as his whole body shifted with his movements. Sweat started beading at his hairline from the extersion and the heat radiating off of Enji.
«Remember, Shouto, this is your duty now. Taking care of my needs, of my cock, is your responsibility.»
«… Because it's my... fault Mommy's not… here anymore...»
«That's right.» Enji smirked, dripping corruption and lust unbecoming of a hero. «Get your mouth down there, c'mon. Like I told you.»
Once the bandages came off his face and Shouto was cleared by the doctor to go back to school, the vacancy in his stare finally began to recede day by day. He no longer wandered around the house like a ghost and he talked more often, as stilted and curt as his sentences were.
A positive thing, according to the majority of people Enji spoke to — a phrase which never failed to make him raise an eyebrow. He could understand such naivety from Fuyumi, but from adults who should know better than to sweep PTSD and trauma under the rug? Bullshit. They were just trying to appease him, Endeavor, the #2 Hero.
They were lucky that worked perfectly for Enji.
He could do without the new-found sparks of defiance in Shouto's eyes whenever they crossed paths or trained in the dojo, sure, but in was worth it when all the fight bled out of his tiny frame at the first glimpse of Enji's cock. He knew playing his hand while the boy was in a malleable state would be beneficial in drilling some key concepts in his brain.
«That was weak, Shouto! Fuyumi could have punched harder than that!» Enji reprimanded, eyes narrowed in Shouto's direction at his poor attitude.
He received a glare from the other side of the dojo, Shouto then kicking the dummy in the dick with an angry yell. Enji almost rolled his eyes at the display, but a sudden groan caught his attention.
«Ah— nnh…!»
Shouto was squirming where he stood, face pinched in discomfort and the heel of one hand carefully rubbing at his groin. Ah, Enji thought, it's the cage isn't it. Of course it was — it'd been only a week since Enji had put it on Shouto; he wasn't used to it yet.
«Stop touching it, Shouto,» Enji said. «It won't help—»
«Shut up! Take it off of me!»
Enji stood up, growling low and stalking toward his son. He gripped a fistful of bi-colored hair and shoved Shouto's face into his crotch none too gently, grinding him against his clothed, soft cock. Any protest died quickly. A breathy moan warming Enji's bulge, which twitched in interest as Shouto nudged his nose further into the crease between his thigh and pelvis.
«I told you not to touch the cage, Shouto,» Enji said, looking down at the boy.
«Mmkay,» Shouto muttered into the fabric of his sweatpants; his tiny arms embracing Enji's waist. «Daddy… wanna…»
«What do you want?»
«Daddy's… Da— haa!-» Enji rubbed a knee over Shouto's trapped little dick- «cock! Nnnh— Daddy's cock! P-Please...»
Enji chuckled. «And what d'you wanna do with it, mh, Shouto?»
Shouto looked up at him, flushed face and eyes swimming with desire to please. Enji could imagine the boy's mind quickly being overtaken by thoughts of his cock; touching it, stroking it, feeling its weight and warmth on his tongue — the way he'd been primed to in the weeks after the incident.
«S-service you— ah! — Daddy… please!»
«Since you're being so polite-» Enji patted his head, then undid the pants' drawstring and pulled them down enough for his cock to bounce free- «go ahead.»
Shouto's eyes light up, a needy whine falling from pink lips. «Thank you Daddy!»
He delved right in, mouth parting to suckle on the head, tongue sneaking under the foreskin and swirling around it like an ice-cream cone. Popping off the tip, Shouto moved down the hard length, kissing and licking every pulsing vein all the way to the base; he coated Enji's cock in saliva to ease the stroking of his small hands while he nuzzled up to the sac under it.
«Suck on those, boy,» Enji grunted, a large hand on the nape of Shouto's head. «That's where you came from.»
Shouto's tongue lapped at his heavy balls with careful brushes, lips puckering over the sensitive skin, sucking gently. Over and over, he kissed Enji's sac with something akin to reverence in both his touches and his eyes. His breath was humid and hitching as he worshiped Enji like the all-consuming being he was.
A low rumble reverberated in Enji's chest, his palm caressing red-and-white hair in silent appreciation. «Yeah… like that, Shouto. You like Daddy's cock, don't you?»
Shouto moaned, long and trembling with need. «Ah! I… I-I— yes! Like-» his lips attached to Enji's cock-head once again, drinking up the pre-cum oozing from it and mewling- «mngh— l-love it Daddy!» He rutted against Enji's leg, no doubt trying to find relief for his tiny dick trapped in that cage.
«Good boy. Now back to sucking.»
Enji unceremoniously pushed Shouto's parted mouth down on his twitching cock, fucking into it fast but controlled, thrusts shallow as his son let himself be used. Flushed cheeks hollowing and puffing out in time with his movements, and small hands cupping his balls, it didn't take long for Enji to feel himself starting to cum.
«Here it comes, Shouto,» he groaned, fingers dipping into the boy's nape to keep him still. «My seed— shit! Ngh!— don't spill any!»
Shouto's muffled assent sent jolts of pleasure up his cock, pushing him over the edge until he was dumping a load of scorching cum down the awaiting throat. Shouto drank and drank, lips tightening around his length to coax out every drop.
The sight alone — of Shouto's still-developing Adam's Apple bob — arousing him enough he could go for a second round immediately. «Like mother, like son: she loved to guzzle it down too.»
«Quit your squirming, dammit!» Enji growled, a rough palm on his son's hip.
«Nooo…! Back— put it back Daddy! Too empty...» Shouto cried.
Enji ignored the whining and the wriggling hips, too busy trying to reach for the lube one-handed, to appreciate the desperation Shouto was showing. At last managing to pop the bottle open, Enji poured the lube over the boy's slightly puffy hole — a huff of laughter escaping him at the squeak it earned him — and sank a finger inside.
Shouto's body shivered, no longer fighting. «Daddy...»
«Yeah,» Enji said. His digit moving back and forth, taking stock of how prepped his son's ass was after pulling out the plug which had been stretching him. «This is better, mh? A minute without something filling you up is unbearable, isn't it.»
The only answer he got was a whorish moan and Shouto pushing back into his hand.
Enji had introduced butt plugs around three months into his molding of Shouto into his personal, perfect cock-slut. He'd been dreaming about fucking his son well before Rei had snapped and gotten herself locked away in a hospital, and after teaching Shouto how to pleasure him with his mouth, Enji had decided it was time he started training that cute, round ass to take his cock. It'd been a couple of painstakingly long years. Years filled of better and better blowjobs, thigh-fucking — and occasional Fuyumi-fucking, because sometimes he missed the familiar feeling of a cold and wet pussy soaking up his boiling-hot cum —, and the slow-increasing girth of butt plugs up Shouto's hole.
The wait was finally over.
Enji was already rock-hard at the prospect of sinking balls-deep in Shouto.
His son seemed eager as well; spine curving sharply upward, hands gripping the futon under his shaking body in a vice. «Hhhnggh…!! O-oh! Da-Daddy! More— aah!— moreee!»
Enji smirked, a second finger pushing alongside the first to scissor and loosen Shouto; a third was quick to follow, and a fourth, the blushing rim stretched deliciously around his fingers, shiny with lube and fluttering. Enji shifted his hand back a little, calloused pads prodding at his son's prostate, licking his lips at Shouto's shocked yell. He kept up the touch until Shouto's walls were quaking and he was orgasming with his ass, his little caged dick limp but twitching uselessly over the sheet.
«Look at that, Shouto, you mastered the art of cumming like a woman,» Enji praised, fingers popping out of the boy with a squelch.
Shouto was out of it, drowning in post-coital bliss. «… Like a wo… man… did good?... Daddy…?»
«Yes, you did good. So good, you deserve my cock.»
Shouto didn't have time to say anything, Enji lubing himself up quickly and thrusting inside the small body in the next minute. Both moaned, when he bottomed out, then he pulled the boy up to sit on his thighs. Hands at a slim waist — leaving bruises on the milky-white skin —, Enji began ramming Shouto onto his cock at a brutal pace, the slapping of skin on skin loud and obscene, a nice background to the gritty grunts and the breathless mewls they made.
«How's Daddy's cock, mh, Shouto?»
«Mmngh! Aaah! Oh— l-l-loooove it…! Daddy!! Oh! Hhhgaah— yes! Cock!! Co— AH!»
Shouto was a mess of snot and tears and drool, with barely enough functioning brain cells to form words while he was mercilessly bounced on Enji's cock. His guts were speared continuously, his stomach visibly bulging every time Enji thrusted into him; his prostate was brushed against over and over to the point of pain, but Shouto kept moaning and sobbing in pleasure like Enji had molded him to—a slut for anything Daddy's cock gave him.
And Enji made sure to tell him.
«What a... whore! Happy to be a— ngh— rag-doll in my grasp...  just to get my— shit!— cock. Ready to crawl— haa!— on your knees and choke on it! You're a bitch in heat, Shouto— my bitch. My cock-slut!»
«Yours, yes! Yesyes! Slut— AH! DADDY! AH! AH!»
Shouto orgasmed again, body like jello in Enji's hands as he shook and shuddered and pissed all over the futon. He kept up his onslaught anyway, fucking up into Shouto through his walls' clenching down on him until he was cumming violently inside, still thrusting while he rode it out, uncaring of the seed spilling down his cock and adding to the nasty mess.
«Thank… you… Daddy...»
«Mmh, good boy, Shouto.»
[*]
He sees his son walk towards him, on his way to compete in his first match. «Shouto,» he calls, «I'm expecting to see you use your fire today.» Shouto scowls, seeming determined to ignore him and that won't do for Enji. He steps in front of his son, blocking the passage with his large frame; this time it's him who ignores Shouto's gritted «Get out of my way». He bends at the waist until their faces are as close as can be with Enji's quirk active. «I put up with this defiance at home,» he says. «but here and now? It's going to ruin your performance and I won't have that.» «Fuck o—» Shouto starts, only for the words to die out as soon as he sees Enji unzip the fly of his hero suit and pull out his limp cock. He smirks. The change in demeanor is instantaneous: Shouto's pupils swell, black overtaking gray and blue irises; his jaws grow slack and his lips part; a rosy tint blossoms on his cheeks. Tense shoulders sag. In the next second, Shouto's on his knees in front of him. «Daddy...» he whines. «Aah, that's better,» Enji says. He reaches out, weaves his large hand in bi-colored hair. A low moan leaves his son's throat. He can practically see the saliva gathering on the boy's tongue in anticipation, can see him squirm on the floor as the seconds pass by. Shouto moves closer, nosing at the crimson pubes at the base of Enji's cock but not touching the half-hard shaft. He wasn't given permission to yet. «Need your Daddy's cock to calm down, mh?» Enji teases. «Like a baby with his pacifier-» with his free hand, he strokes himself, quickly growing fully hard at the sight of Shouto panting and sniffing at his crotch like a dog- «wanna be a good boy for Daddy?» Shouto nods wordlessly, slowly humping his boot and Enji can vaguely feel the chastity cage rub on him through Shouto's clothes. «Yes! Yes, please Daddy...! Please, your cock— oooh I want it! Daddy, please... pleasepleaseDa— mgahghn!» Enji grabs a fistful of white-n-red hair and pulls on it, shoving his cock past slack jaws without hesitation. «Suck Shouto,» he orders. Shouto moans around him. His hands grope Enji's thighs, blunt nails digging into the muscle as an anchor while he starts bobbing his head over the massive length. His tongue swirls around the shaft in just the right way to make Enji groan; Shouto's throat constricts as he's swallowed past his son's gag reflex, the vibrations from the mewls travel all the way up Enji's spine. His son's mouth is perfect. «Yeah, that's more— nngh— like it! Fuck, Shouto— you love my... cock mh? That's a good whore—» Wet and tight around him — it almost reminds him of Rei's and Fuyumi's pussies. «Cool yourself down a bit boy,» he grunts. When his son does as told, Enji moans at the feeling and fucks himself deeper, harder past Shouto's lips—they're stretched and puffy and red, with drool oozing down his chin. Shouto chokes on his cock yet keeps working it like the greedy slut he is. He ignores the tears running down his flushed cheeks and the snot mixing with his spit and Enji's pre-cum. His face looks dazed and Enji knows Shouto's brain is mush right now: the only words blaring in there are "COCK" and "DADDY" and "DADDY'S CUM". Exactly the way Enji wants him. It's what Enji's taught him ever since Rei had disappeared from the house, eight years ago-and his youngest cock-sleeve has grown up to be exceptionally great at giving head. The most talented at it since his mother. «Take Daddy's spunk, you slutty boy!» Enji says through gritted teeth as he feels himself getting close. He rips Shouto's mouth off him, gripping his cock and stroking himself quick and harsh until his balls draw up and he's throbbing in his own fist. «Open up and say— fuck!— thank you!» Shouto whines, swollen lips parted and tongue lolling out, waiting to be fed. It's enough to push Enji off the edge. With one last stroke, he's cumming, the thick ropes of seed landing on his son's eager tongue as well as on the bridge of his nose and his left cheek. He milks his orgasm to the last drop, staring down at Shouto with a dark glint in his eyes as the boy slurps up all the cum sizzling on his face. «Thank you Daddy...» Behind him, Present Mic's voice calls for Shouto's name.

Hello 👋🏼, sorry if I’m bothering u but ever since the recent chapters of BNHA I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the Todoroki family. Not many of my friends are into this anime and I just couldn’t stop myself from sharing this with you because I need to let this out.
[SPOILER ALERT 🚨!!! IF U DONT READ THE MANGA THEN U CAN JUST IGNORE THIS]
First of all:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!
(I’m still screaming as I write because the backstories RUINED me.)
Poor Touya having this horrible obsession over heroics and having his father acknowledge him but ever since his quirk started reacting against his body the whole family got negatively affected by it.
Rei and Enji wanted to stop at two kids but with Touya’s sudden disadvantage and the latter’s craving for power, Natsuo and later on Shouto was born (the youngest getting titled as the perfect heir from the moment he was born). I got torn seeing Touya’s eyes succumb to absolute madness at the birth of his younger brothers.
What scared me the most was how when it was just Touya and Fuyumi, the two hardly interacted despite being only a year apart in age. Touya claimed that ‘girls just don’t get it’ this small foreshadowing was later brought to light in the most recent chapter where he once again rejects Fuyumi’s company in favour of ranting to only Natsuo and where he disregards his own mother— another ‘girl’ that doesn’t understand his obsession passion for surpassing All Might and someone who plays along to the acts of those stronger than them. Touya saw his mother as a weak person who had no choice but to marry for the sake of her family and have custom children. Little Touya firmly believed his very existence depended on getting acknowledged my his father and defeating All Might but it sadly didn’t come true😭😭
Also..... LOOK AT THE BABIES!!!! They’re all so CUTE!!!
Chubby Fuyumi!!!
Natsuo with a running nose
And Baby Shouto with a meme like face since the day he was born🤣🤣🤣🤣
So ADORABLE!
And another thing. FUYUMI WAS EVEN YOUNGER THAN I THOUGHT TO HAVE STARTED ACTING LIKE A SECOND MOTHER TO HER BROTHERS!! Look at the way she defended Natsuo when Touya went on a rampage and tried to attack Touya! And during moments when Enji and Rei fought the two most notable heroes were Shouto and Fuyumi; the former fighting on the frontlines to face his father while the latter stood behind to once again care for her remaining family that though weren’t involved in the fight, they still needed emotional support to get through it.😭
I AM SO SORRY TO BE GETTING TO THIS SO LATE ANON BUT I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY!!!
TW: Spoilers, Brief Mention of Child Abuse (Physical, Emotional and Mental), General Fandom Wank
So, like, SO MUCH HAPPENED in those chapters and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALMOST ALL OF IT! There’s obviously all the things you mentioned above that were just amazing to see and learn! I know that a majority of the fandom has been absolutely livid about the reveals involving Touya being drastically different than what fandom thought they were all this time, but I think it honestly highlights how smart Horikoshi’s writing really is.
In Shoto, we see the effects of physical and mental abuse on a child, and how easily he could have ended up going down a troubling road much like Touya. Shoto’s saving grace is facing off against Deku in the Sports Festival, giving him an outside perspective and makes him realize that he can choose to be better, but that doesn’t just magically fix all of Shoto’s problems. Shoto still struggles with his feelings towards his Father and how he is perceived by simply being Endeavor’s son. We see that in the Provisional License Arc, where Shoto is so thoroughly rattled by Inasa. It’s even further pushed through how Shoto struggles with his feelings about Endeavor trying to better and whether or not he should forgive him. I feel like Shoto’s arc is incredibly strong and that his struggles are very realistic, which is why people love him so much. This whole concept is another thing I could rant about but I’m going to leave it here.
Meanwhile, with Touya, we see the effects of mental and emotional abuse on a child and how it can completely destroy them. I think people that act like Horokoshi “down played” and “ret-conned” Endeavor as a character to make him more sympathetic/ redeemable or that he’s simply writing Touya as “always being a bad seed” are missing the mark. This is, admittedly, something you see a lot when it comes to victims of abuse in the real world as well; the idea that if you weren’t physically or sexually abused on top of emotional or mental abuse, your abuse is somehow less “valid.” Now I’ve seen more voices speaking out against this mentality - which is relieving and positive - but it’s still a problem. The way Touya was abused is no less valid or scarring to himself as a person as what Shoto has been through was. Touya and Enji clearly had a deep bond as father and son. Hell, the fact that Enji is sobbing and saying he “can’t fight his own son” in regards to Touya, but clearly had less issue training Shoto until he got ill or passed out says a lot.
Touya was put on an incredibly high pedestal by Enji’s constant praise and attention. He was the apple of his father’s eye until the limitations of his Quirk were discovered. Enji had filled his head with promises and goals for what his future would be, essentially selling him what turned out to be a lie. We see Rei herself tell Enji that Touya “knows you expect something out of the kids.” Touya’s whole life up until that point was being told of all the great he would someday accomplish, and equating that to being deserving of his Father’s love, attention and affection.
And then he couldn’t live up to that expectation. And then his parents had two more kids following that revelation. The idea that Touya doesn’t realize that Natsuo and Shoto were meant to be his replacements - unbroken models that “deserved” Enji’s love - is clearly not missed by him. It’s evident in the way he looks at Natsuo after he’s born. He sees this as a sign that he is no longer deserving - no longer worthy - of love or support from the parent he absolutely adores.
We see this mostly from Enji and Rei’s perspectives, so we know the reasons they did it, but it’s clear they didn’t stop to think about the way this would be interpreted by Touya himself. This whole matter is only worsened by the fact that Enji refuses to make sacrifices for the sake of his oldest son. He pushes Touya to live a life outside of Pro Heroics while Enji himself refuses to do the same, thus setting a positive example and showing solidarity with his son. He instead pushes him away and distances himself, loses himself in focusing on Natuso and, once his Quirk turns out to not be what he wants, Shoto. Touya continues to push himself despite his limits in a desperate bid for Enji to look at him the way he used to; with pride and love.
What caused the fire that “killed” Touya? His anguish over being neglected and abandoned - left unloved - by his father yet again. It’s clear that Touya’s mental health is in need of some real focus that he has never gotten - due to both his parents negligence as well as the fact that mental health is highly stigmatized in Japanese society - and pairing that with the emotional and mental abuse he suffered at Enji’s hands broke him.
So many people are claiming Horikoshi is trying to make Enji “more redeemable”, but how do you get that? Enji abused Rei, his own wife, physically and emotionally and mentally until she had a psychotic breakdown, hurt their youngest child, and then robbed her the right to mother her children further by having her locked up in a psych ward for the next decade or so; built their oldest son, Touya, up only to then emotionally and mentally abuse him to the point he damn near killed himself in a frantic bid to garner Enji’s support only to return years later completely unhinged and looking to murder his entire family out of spite; neglected Fuyumi and Natsuo to the care of each other and hired help; alienated Shoto, his youngest son, from his siblings for his entire formative years, physically and mentally and emotionally abused him, groomed him to accomplish a task he never wanted, put him through such extensive physical training that Shoto would get sick or pass out.
Enji was a shitty father. He has a long ass road to continue walking if he ever wants redemption. The fact he didn't physically hit Touya doesn’t mean that Enji didn’t abuse his son and it doesn’t make Touya any less of a victim.
* End TodoFam Rant*
On a slightly lighter note, I also like all the information with Hawks’ past and all the parallels we’re seeing develop!
I’ve rambled briefly about this in other places the Huwumi discord but I want to expound upon this a bit more here.
I feel like Touya/ Dabi and Keigo/ Hawks are meant to be parallels to one another.
Back to back, we had proper name claims by these two characters. We had Dabi reveal his true identity as Todoroki Touya and then we have Hawks choosing to abandon his hero name to instead step up to fight as Takami Keigo.
I feel like “Dabi” was always a mask, of sorts. Dabi is typically pretty calm, cool, composed with the occasional bites of snark and cruelty. Meanwhile, we see Touya emoting and moving in a manner more akin to himself as a child, dancing about in manic delight over revealing his true identity and intentions. The pair of them are two drastically different people when you stop and look at it. “Dabi” was the mask he wore to gain ground to enact his revenge, and now that he is there? Now Touya can burn everything tethered to it down to ground.
Meanwhile, we have "Hawks” as he was forced to become as per the Hero Public Safety Commission. We had it revealed quite a while back that Hawks was a man of many faces, jumping from laid-back and chill to serious and focused quite frequently. “Hawks” is the presentation for the public and the Commission, groomed to be the perfect little canary in the mine that was Pro Heroics. The reveal of his true heritage, however, is not the killing blow Touya wanted it to be. Instead, it allows Keigo, the one who wanted to be a Hero to help people, the chance to truly dedicate himself to that. In being freed from the cage of “Hawks”, he is given the change to really soar as Keigo.
Now, I feel that “Dabi” and “Hawks” are most certainly parts of Touya and Keigo as well, respectively. Even though those titles were masks, they were masks made from parts of the men who wear them. I think what we’ll see going forward is the true elements of those masks bleeding back into the whole, and seeing the truest forms of each character.
For better or for worse.

can I ask for famous pro hero! bakugo and todoroki coming home from work to a crying s/o in bed after being harassed by some psychotic fan girls? I’m sry if it’s too detailed🥺
Pointing fingers
Bakugou:
(I took the picture from a tumblr post)
Tumblr media
"That bitch is dating THE Ground Zero?"
"God, did she ever look at the mirror before getting out? She looks disgusting..."
"Yeah I know right? She doesn’t even have a sense of fashion... Let's not even talk about her looks..."
"For real, what does someone as hot as Ground Zero see in her? He should be with someone of his status, not a stupid sidekick."
"She totally doesn't deserve him."
These words were being played on a repeat in your head as soon as you reached home from Ground Zero agency. You were a sidekick at your boyfriend's agency, infact that's where you met him and the two of you fell in love. Ground Zero was the number 2 hero and even though most people didn't like him due to his shitty attitude, the fanbase he actually had was very devoted. Most importantly, the fangirls that he had were mostly psychotic. Bakugou went public about your relationship yesterday after dating you for an year and let's just say, while most people were shipping you with him like crazy, the psychotic fangirls were absolutely livid. Which is why, you heard a group of girls saying all that about you when you were done patrolling and on your way home. They stood right next to you in the train (cause Bakugou took the car for a last minute meeting with an investor which meant that the other car was home).
You were always insecured when it came to Bakugou. Sure, he always reassured that he loves you but you just couldn’t help it. He was the number 2 hero and you were just a sidekick. He looked like a damn God and you looked like...well, you. Therefore, to say that these comments broke your heart was an understatement. Hence, you were in your shared bedroom in Bakugou and your huge penthouse, under the bed covers, crying with an entire box of icecream. Well, that's until Bakugou came back home.
Bakugou knew that you’d be in the bedroom. Your lazy ass always took a nap after work. However he definitely didn't expect to find you puffy eyed and with an entire box of icecream. The last time you had an entire box of icecream was when you had a particularly painful period and were crying at everything for a week. This had to be bad. "Babe, what the fuck happened?" Bakugou asked you in a gruff tone, sitting on the bed. In answer, you only whimpered which made Bakugou want to kick himself cause he wasn’t comforting enough and that clearly was a bad move. Which is why, he pulled you into a tight hug and asked as soothingly as his voice would allow him, "Babe, you gotta tell me. Gimme a name and I'll beat that damn extra's ass for making you cry. Just talk to me babe.". Then the dam broke and you cried your heart out holding him as you babbled about everything that happened and how you felt as if they were right. "Dumbass, didn't it occur to you that those extras were jealous? Exactly, look at yourself in the mirror cause I see a badass woman who can order me around when it comes to it in fights. I can see a flawless pro hero who can totally open her own agency but sticks to mine cause we clearly make eachothee better. You clearly make me perform way better. Without you, I'd not be number 2 cause you're the one forcing my ass to be cooperative with others. Honestly, I feel like I don't appreciate you much. You're fucking perfect alright? Now, look at the mirror cause you’ll see me hugging you. Not one of those shitty extras." he told you, bringing a smile to your tear stained face.
Todoroki:
(Took the picture off Google)
Tumblr media
You were in your and Shouto's shared bedroom, on the bed, crying silently. The fan meet and greet went absolutely wrong. However, that wasn’t bothering you. What was bothering you were the words from the Shouto fangirls. The words that cut through you like knives.
"YOU BITCH! YOU FUCKING THINK HE DESERVES A LOWLIFE LIKE YOU?"
"I can't believe Shouto actually chose to date you after everything you did with your ex. You don't even deserve to live."
"Shouto deserves so much better than a whore like you!"
You had a rough breakup with your ex, who was a top pro hero. Naturally, the media took his side and not yours. You were still a newbie in the hero industry and you didn't have much influence when it came to the media. Your ex left you cause he fell out of love apparantly and went ahead to date another girl the next day. To retain his popularity (cause literally no one gets out of a relationship and has a girlfriend the next day if he didn't cheat) he went ahead and spreaded rumours about you cheating. Did the media listen to your side of the story? No, it didn’t. The only person who listened and believed you was Shouto when you told him the whole story after befriending him during a joint mission and eventually the two of you fell in love. You made your relationship public this week and honestly, most people were really sweet to you. Then again, Shouto had a huge fanbase thanks to his charming yet cutely oblivious demeanour. That huge fanbase included psychotic fangirls. Your ratings were rising quite fast recently since most people forgot about the issue you had with the media a few years back. Infact, most people believed you when you posted your side of the story on social media. Specially after Shouto supported you because the number 3 hero had quite an effect on people. Anyway, since your rating increased drastically, you decided to do a fan meet and greet. All was going well in the begining till a group of psychotic Shouto fangirls came at you with insults. You had to cut the meet and greet short after that and you came back home to cry.
Shouto took off from work early as he saw the entire thing happen on his phone. After all, his girlfriend was insulted by his own fans over national television (the meet and greet was live on a few TV channels) and he had to be there for you. Many reporters tried to get his statement on the happening as soon as he got out of his agency but he merely told them, "I don't consider anyone who goes out of their way to insult someone I care about as my fan. They are bullies and I am ashamed that they used my name to bully someone. Now if you will excuse me, I'll have to go comfort my girl." before getting into his car. When he reached home, he found you on the bed, crying softly. "Baby... You know they aren’t right... Please don't cry..." he told you in a soothing tone as he pulled you into a hug. "I...I know but... It's just... It wasn’t even my fault... Why do they still hate me? Do I really not deserve you?" you sobbed. "Love, if there's someone who does deserve me, it's you. Do you know what I told the media? Let me show you." Shouto told you in a soothing tone as he pulled out his phone to show you his recent exchange with the reporters. "I don’t consider anyone who says a word against you as my fan. They are horrible people who doesn’t deserve your or my attention. So, please don't be sad. Their words don't mean a thing." Shouto told you with an earnest expression, turning the frown on your face upside down.
[Author's note: I actually was really excited about writing this ask. DON'T APOLOGISE FOR BEING DETAILED! Infact, it's more fun to write when asks are detailed. Besides, the idea was actually fun to write!]

Todoroki:
Tumblr media
Quiet chatter could be heard throughout dorms at the Class 1A Alliance as they got a movie ready.
You took the 2 bowls of popcorns you'd prepared and followed Momo into the living room where most of the class gathered around. Placing the bowls onto the coffee table you pulled out your phone and went through your contacts.
Once the phone stopped ringing you gasped excitedly.
"No," a gruff voice snarled from the other side of the call, making you pout.
"You're no fun Bakugo, we have the day off tomorrow too!" You whine into the phone.
"Shut up, I'm tired and I'm training tomorrow," Bakugo replied.
"Grumpy pants,"
"What did you say?!"
"Okie it's sleep time goodbye now!" You laugh timidly and quickly hang up the call before he could yell again. Turning back to your classmates you took a seat on an empty couch.
"Still said no?" A voice queried. You look up to meet Kirishima's eyes and nod disappointedly was he sighs.
"Yeah, well it is past his bedtime," he chuckles and lowers himself to take a seat beside you.
"No!" Someone yells making everyone stop their actions.
"Hm?" You look up at Todoroki who was now blushing madly.
"I...wanna sit beside Y/n," he looks away, his left side noticeably heating up faster.
"Oh, yeah sure," Kirishima smiles smugly and lifts himself up from the spot beside you, dusting it lightly.
Todoroki coughs before responding.
"Thank you," he shuffles awkwardly to sit down and you interrogate him. By interrogate you mean, cocking a brow up and throwing him an "innocent" grin.
"I— not a word," he grumbles hiding his face with his sleeves. You only giggle and snuggle up to him.
Monoma:
Tumblr media
Everyone knows that class 1A is the more, flashier class between the two hero courses. Which lead to Monoma mocking them almost every single day, which also lead to you and Kendo dragging his ass back and apologize on a faulty basis.
You and Kendo kept an eye out for Monoma during lunch.
"Where is he?" She asks scamming the large room filled with hundreds of students, unfortunately Neito wasn't in the immense crowd of kids eating their lunches.
"I don't even know, I hope he's not causing any trouble though, I have a couple of friends in there," you mutter examining the clusters of students carefully, watching out for a certain blonde haired maniac.
"Don't mind him, relax for bit. You two are always on his case." Awase says from behind you and Kendo, effectively frightening the both you.
"That's because he's always messing with class 1A," Kendo bleated, but sitting down with the both of you.
"He needs to chill for like 2 minutes, I swear," you groan picking up your chopsticks and start to eat your food not wanting to waste any more time on looking for Monoma.
All was well until you heard a well known psychotic laugh you've listened to many times. You and Kendo whined in sync as you stood up to stop whatever mess he was making.
"Oh?! What's this? Class 1A—"
"Neito!" Kendo growls angrily from behind, and he gulped in fear.
"Jeez, you're in big trouble they're pissed," You reply with an unimpressed look as Kendo chops him on the back of his neck whilst you apologized.
Once you got back to the tables he laughs in embarrassment looking at you.
"You're an idiot," you shoot him a knowing look. He slams his head onto the table, then turns to you with puppy dog eyes.
"I'm sorry Y/n!" He pleads tears brimming his eyes. You give him a shocked look but pat him on the shoulder.
"Neito chill! Oh my— I'll buy you food later just stop!" You stifle a laugh as he looks up with watery eyes.
"Really?" and you sigh.
"Yes," and with that he tackles you into a hug.

“So have you guys found anything on the new students yet?”
Hermione shook her head, her already frizzy hair seemingly defying gravity and even frizzier. “That’s the thing. There’s nothing about any magical academies in Japan!”
Harry frowned. “That’s rather suspicious; they’re probably lying about that as well.”
Ron stared at him as if he were crazy. “But Dumbledore himself let them in; a bunch of teens couldn’t lie to him, could they?”
‘Well Umbridge was let in, and she lies to Dumbledore more than Lavender preaches Trelawney.’
Harry shrugged, but did not spare the two a glance, instead opting to stare at the transfer students over at the Slytherin table, joking and laughing at something Todoroki had said, going by the satisfied smile on his face.
‘I didn’t think that the bloke could even smile.’ It was definitely an improvement to their tenseness that morning though, all five of them bent over a newspaper in foreign letters. The words “Breakout” And “Tartarus” being prominent.
Iida’s loud chuckles brought Harry back to the present; the Slytherin’s hand chopping up and down quickly became nothing more than a blur.
A loud smack echoed throughout the hall and hysterical laughter erupted, Iida bowing with a furious blush across his face, but he was still laughing. Harry stared before turning to look back at Todoroki, who removed his hand from the lower half of his face to reveal a steady stream of blood trickling down from his nose, slightly filling the crevice in his lips as it dripped down his chin.
“How are they laughing while their friend is bleeding?” Hermione said, her voice taking on a slightly disgusted tone. Ron beside her shrugged. “Who knows with those snakes? They probably take pleasure in hurting others.”
Surprisingly it was Dean and Seamus that spoke up, Dean’s eyebrow risen in disbelief. “Actually, they aren’t that bad, that Iida bloke helps other students with studying and reminds them to take breaks at the library and on more than one occasion I’ve seen Midoriya fall down the stairs and lay at the base for a solid five minutes before saying “Why has god forsaken me?” then getting up like nothing had happened.”
Seamus nodded as he placed his goblet down. “I saw Uraraka climbing the side of the stairs instead of the actual stairs and not once did she slip!” Seamus quickly swallowed another mouthful of pasta, the evening light shining in through the windows and bouncing off pieces of cutlery. “And I’m pretty sure that I saw Asui relaxing in the lake outside.”
Harry rolled his eyes. “You sure you’re not under an imperious curse?” He muttered. And if he stabbed into his food with more aggression than necessary, no one mentioned it. A few minutes passed in tense silence, the sound of laughter and cutlery scraping against plates surrounding them and filling the hall.
An ear-splitting crash from the doors as they slammed against the walls silenced the entire hall, every student's head-turning to stare incredulously as Filch ran through, his breathing laboured. “Fire!” He wheezed. “The forbidden forest is on fire!”
Gasps rang out, students turning to stare at each other. “The fire is very strange though!”
Dumbledore stood, eyes concerned. “What do you mean Argus?”
Filch shook his head. “The fire’s blue!”
Harry stared with wide eyes. “Blue fire?” He hissed, turning to look at Hermione, only she was staring at the transfers. Harry turned to look at the transfers, who all had shock and anger swimming in their eyes, eyebrows drawn and frowns marring their faces.
The hall's doors slammed shut again, the thunderous slam made several students jump.
Umbridge stood in shock, her pink and fuzzy form trembling from either fear or cruel excitement. Either way, it made Harry uncomfortable. He turned to look back at the Slytherin table, narrowing his eyes when he saw the transfers huddled together, clearly whispering about something.
Slow and deliberate footsteps echo from the hallway, easily cutting through the tense silence in the Great Hall. The transfer’s eyes widened.
The next few moments happened in slow motion.
Iida’s eyes narrowed before suddenly flying across the hall and slamming into Filch, the speed quicker than a golden snitch, the two landing on the other side of the Gryffindor’s table just as a large column of blistering fire burst through the doors, multiple students screaming in terror.
As soon as it started, the fire sizzled out of existence, only the destroyed doors and sapphire embers displaying any evidence of what had just occurred. Low laughter filled the hall, amused and husky.
“Well well well, what do we have here?”
Harry stared at the ruined archway, a singular figure standing amongst the destruction. Psychotic blue eyes glowed with delight, a cruel smile that even Draco or Bellatrix couldn’t ever hope to match stretched purple scars, the staples and piercing in his face dragging his skin in multiple directions.
“Merlin’s beard…”
‘Death Eaters?’
Multiple members of staff stood from their chairs, wands pointed directly at the intruder. Dumbledore glared at the death eater. “Who are you and what do you want?”
The stranger merely laughed a low and grating sound, he dropped into a low showman’s bow, one hand on the stomach and the other stretched out.
“Me? My name’s Dabi and I’m here on the behalf of the League of Villains.” Dabi straightened with a crazed look in his eyes. “There is a set of particular students we want, and we will take them.” He flexed a hand, purple scarring and withered skin mutilated and held together with staples. “With, or without your permission.”
Dabi tilted his head, some ash falling from his black hair. Hermione grabbed Harry’s wrist. “I think they mean you, Harry.” She said lowly, Ron nodding from beside her.
A shot of red light left Dumbledore’s wand, crashing with a shower of sparks into Dabi’s chest. Only for him to move not a single inch, instead, he giggled. “What was that? It tickled.”
Everyone stared in shock. “T-that’s not meant to be possible.” Neville squeaked, eyes wide with terror. “He doesn’t even have a wand!”
“Very well, if that’s how you want to play.”
Dabi spread his arms out wide and tilted his head back. “Let us show you how we Villains play.”
As if on cue multiple ‘arms’ of purple smoke shot out violently from behind Dabi, filling the hall and sending multiple students screaming.  Harry hacked into his fist, choking on the smog as it whirled around the students.
With too much effort, Harry reached around blindly and grabbed Ron and Hermione, his gut dragging as if he was in a port key. With a scream, he suddenly felt the cold wind and the heat of fire crash against him, Ron and Hermione’s screams filling the air as they crashed into the forest floor.
As soon as it started it ended, the chaos of the great hall suddenly replaced with the crackling of the fire. Stumbling to his feet Harry looked at the burning forest around him, the heat stifling and smoke trailing lazily into the air.
“Dean!”
Jerking to look over his shoulder Harry watched as Seamus scrambled over to Dean’s limp form. “Dean? Dean!”
Seamus shook Dean a few more times, sighing relief when he let out a small grunt. “Guys! Dean’s hurt!”
“Let me see.”
Jumping Harry whipped around to see Uraraka walking toward Dean and Seamus, only a few scratches marring her skin.
With a simple nod, Seamus rolled Dean over from his side, his head lying in the other's lap while Uraraka knelt beside the wizards, Dean’s eyes opening blearily. He hissed in pain. Uraraka frowned, hand pressing gently against Dean’s ankle, then looking up to check his eyes. “His ankles sprained and a minor concussion by the looks of it, but other than that he should be okay.”
Seamus sighed and nodded his head. “You hear that Dean, you’re gonna be okay.” Dean merely nodded. Uraraka inhaled then exhaled, seemingly unbothered by the fire. “Do you trust me?” She asked, handheld in front of her.
Seamus and Dean shared a look before shrugging. “You haven’t given us a reason not to.”
Uraraka nodded and inhaled deeply, hand coming to rest on Dean’s arm. A shimmer of pink glowed from her hand, and Dean began to float.
Jerking Harry drew his wand and pointed it at the girl, who merely stared at him with an unimpressed look on her face.
“Really?” She huffed, ignoring the shocked look of Seamus, moving to stare at Ron and Hermione, who also had their wands drawn. “You’re going to attack me, in the middle of a forest, while we’re surrounded by enemies?” Harry scowled.
“What are you talking about? You’re clearly with them!”
A disgusted expression crossed Uraraka’s face. “Me, with them?”  She scoffed. “Please, why would I side with the villains that kidnapped and try to kill my friends?”
Ron’s wand wavered before he hesitantly lowered it. “She does have a point mate.”
Hermione shot Ron an incredulous look. The redhead shrugged his shoulders and pocketed his wand. “I mean, I don’t like the fact that she’s a Slytherin, but I’m pretty sure that houses don’t matter when it comes to life or death.”
He stared at Uraraka. “You said that they tried to kill your friend’s right?”
Uraraka nodded, arms coming to cross against her chest. Ron turned to look at Harry and Hermione, who both still had their wands pointing towards the transfer. “Well, then that’s good enough for me,”
He smirked. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?”
Uraraka smiled. Harry rose an eyebrow and said, “Where’d you get that from?” Ron shrugged and turned to look at the fire that burned in the distance and around them. “I do read you know.”
“Well how about we don’t just stand around waiting for something to come and kill us and instead get a move on?”
Harry looked past Uraraka to see Seamus hoisting Dean onto his back, grunting in surprise when he obviously didn’t struggle with the boy’s weight. “Okay that’s weird, why is Dean so light?”
Uraraka smiled. “I simply lowered his gravity to make him lighter for you to carry him!”
Hermione spluttered. “There’s no spell for that other than Levicorpus! And it certainly doesn’t work the way you used it”
Harry nodded. “So what are you?” He asked. Uraraka sighed. “Now’s not the time for that, I’ll explain later.” Harry rose an eyebrow in disbelief. She groaned. “Stop being a dumbass Potter-Kun, Finnigan-Kun is right; we’re sitting ducks waiting for villains out here.”
A loud boom and crash echoed through the forest, the ground beneath them rumbling none-too-gently. Uraraka grunted and stared up at the sky. “Stay here!” Her stern and fierce tone froze them in place, and before Harry could rebut her, she had placed her hands on her arm and was steadily floating into the air.
A minute later and she was dropping back to the ground with a huff. “Shoto’s in that direction!” She pointed somewhere towards the edge of the forest.  Hermione stuttered. “Does he have those weird abilities like you?” Uraraka nodded.
“C’mon!”
The brunette dashed off, leaving them no choice but to follow.

Hero Complex // k. bakugou
you will not forgive the heroes who put him in chains
Tumblr media
Your body is aching, hands bruised and the cramp in your neck is becoming unbearable as you drag yourself down to the bleachers after your fight.
“Ahhh my entire body hurts” you whine and you flop onto the bench, head resting on Shinsou’s lap. He doesn’t say a word, too absorbed in watching the next match to pay attention to the way you were complaining.
“Shinsou! Give me attention, I deserve it!”
“Yeah yeah, you did well” He finally looks down to smile at you, an uncharacteristic feature of his when he congratulates you on winning your match. “That Jirou girl had no idea what was coming for her. I’m proud of you for showing them General Studies kids had potential too”
You bristle with pride at his praise before he drops his facade for just the briefest of moments and you twist your lips at the disappointment he holds.
“I’m sorry you didn’t win”
Your arms are threatening to flop onto your face when you lift them up to cup Shinsou’s face in between your hands, a tribute to how hard you pushed yourself out there but you pay them no mind and gently hold them to his cheeks. He leans against your touch briefly, eyes shut before gently pushing you away.
“The match is starting between Todoroki and Bakugou, don’t you want to watch it?”
He helps you sit up, whispering apologies when he brushes up against the faint bruises that are beginning to form.
You and the rest of the spectators stare down in anticipation at where Bakugou and Todoroki stood in the ring, adrenaline beginning to pump throughout your veins again and you squirmed in excitement in your seat.
‘So much for being hurt”
“I am hurt, stop it”
Shinsou rolls his eyes at you but doesn’t say another word, taking his hand to turn your head back towards the stadium.
The way they stared at each other made you stiffen, pure determination in Bakugou’s red eyes and something you couldn’t quite describe in Todoroki’s eyes. “I’m so glad I’m not the one fighting either of them” you murmur and Shinsou nudges you with his shoulder in agreement.
Present Mic’s voice booms over the stadium and then you’re watching in awe, half out of your seat as you watch Todoroki and Bakugou fight.
You can feel the chill of the ice even from where you are, high up and above the arena and the heat from Bakugou’s explosions and you wrinkle your nose in distaste when the hot air rushes over your face and feel how dry it is on your skin.
“Holy shit, this is absolutely crazy” you grab onto Shinsou’s sleeve in astonishment when Bakugou breaks out of the ice cage he was encased in. “They’re actually all psychotic, how is this legal”
Your breath catches in your throat when you hear Endeavor’s voice echoing throughout the stadium because holy shit is that a fucking pro hero in here? Oh my god, Shinsou, do you see that?
The stadium is being filled with roars of encouragement, each person desperately cheering for their favored person to win and your grip on Shinsou’s arm is tightening with every second that passes when Bakugou suddenly creates a tunnel of smoke in the air, directly aiming for Todoroki.
There’s screaming, yelling, the loud rush of air and Bakugou’s voice is loud and clear through it all and you’re too immersed in the fight to realize how much pressure you’re digging into Shinsou’s arm.
(You buy him ice cream and band aids as a consolation when everything has calmed down)
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god”
The commotion immediately dies down the second Bakugou hits the ground, smoke filling the air and you’re desperately craning your neck to see past the smoke and the tops of everyone’s head around you.
It falls away gradually, leaving behind Bakugou as he grips onto the shirt of an unconscious Todoroki, screaming something that you can’t quite make out but judging by the way Bakugou’s eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets, it was not good.
“Did- Did Bakugou just win?” You ask Shinsou in a hushed whisper and he nods while trying to pry your fingers off of his arm. “Why is he still yelling at Todoroki?”
“Something about the icy hot kid not using his power to his full potential” Shinsou tells you and then he’s giving up on trying to do something about the finger shaped bruises that you have begun to form on his arm.
The crowd watches in silence as Midnight lulls Bakugou to sleep, announcing him as the winner and the both of them are dragged off the stage, leaving you to worry after them.
“Are they gonna be okay?” You asked as your eyes followed their bodies being dragged out of the arena. Even unconscious, Bakugou’s face is contorted in stress and your heart twists worriedly at the sight. “They don’t look like they’ll be okay”
Shinsou assures you they'll be fine, dragging you off the bleacher bench to follow the rest of the U.A students that were beginning to make their way back to the arena to announce the winners. You let him lead you down the stairs but the worry in your chest does not subside one bit.
You stand with the rest of the contestants, each of them eagerly wondering over the results and complaining about their injuries.
“How do you think Bakugou’ll accept the prize?” You wonder curiously, “You think he’ll be all braggy about it?”
You could already picture it, the prideful boy eagerly accepting his well deserved award in his hands as he boasted over and over about being the best, the new upcoming number one hero and all you extra’s better watch the fuck out!
Before anyone can reply to you, the ground rumbles and the vibrations are felt throughout your body. It does not help with your anxiety when the dust obscures your vision and all you can hear are muffled shouts.
When the dust clears away and you’ve successfully gotten all the gravel out of your eye, your jaw drops at the sight in front of you, the fire in the pit of your stomach igniting all over again.
“What the absolute fuck is this”
Bakugou stands on the pillar marked as ‘number one’, thrashing wildly against his bonds, vehement shouts of anger lost to the audience’s ears as your eyes land on the muzzle they’ve placed over his mouth. His eyes are bloodshot as they practically bulge out of his head, the giant padlock in front of him clanking wildly each time Bakugou wrestles against his chains.
Todoroki and Tokoyami stand on their own respective pillars, their eyes downcast to avoid the bright flashes of lights from the cameras.
Midnight is talking, people are whispering but you can’t hear anything but the loud roar of blood in your ears and the quickening of your heartbeat at the sight of Bakugou being tied up against his will.
You can feel your legs moving, someone from your class is yelling your name -what are you doing, come back!- but it’s all fading into the background as you climb onto where Bakugou was standing.
The light and cheerful circus music that’s playing in the arena is unfitting of what you had seen in front of you and it makes you angrier with every janky note that rings in the air.
All Might stares at you, hell, all of the heroes and spectators are staring at you and you stare back at each and every one of them, defying and unyielding.
They watch you, each stare being burned into your skull and even Bakugou has stopped struggling in confusion as to who you were and why you were just standing in front of him.
“How dare you”
Your voice is shaking with rage you didn’t realize you had, body shaking with the force of your emotions when you whip your head to defiantly stare into All Might’s eyes.
“How dare you call yourself a hero” You point at where Bakugou was being held against his will, chained and muzzled like an animal. “You have absolutely no right to call yourself the Symbol of Peace, none of you do!”
He’s sixteen. Bakugou Katsuki is sixteen years old, barely done with puberty and still experiencing what life has to offer and yet he is chained to a boulder, forced to accept an award that he did not feel deserving of and it’s all you can think about when you look into his red eyes blown wide open with shock.
“You chained him up like an animal. He is sixteen years old and you all have him tied up as though he committed a crime. What the fuck is wrong with you people?”
The fire in your veins is raging, your emotions bubbling and spilling over in the form of words being laid out onto your tongue.
“All this just because he doesn’t want to accept an award? Are you all fucking kidding me? Who gives a shit about some dumbass medal when you heroes are over here, forcing someone in the worst way possible to accept it. On national TV, no less”
“[surname], get down-”
“Did I fucking say to interrupt me?” You hissed, directing your attention to Midnight who stared at you in shock over your lack of respect towards her, mouth closing at your harsh tone.
“None of you heros deserve to be called a hero” You spit out, “Absolutely none of you. How can you say you’re better than a villain? How can you say you protect citizens when you’re harming one right here, right now- a child, no less. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves”
“You did this for nothing. You did this for your own popularity and greed, you have no right to say you care for the citizens when you have completely ignored someone’s wishes simply because it goes against the image you have so carefully cultivated around you”
You hate it. You hate the way the cameras are flashing at you, the stunned expressions of the mentors you had once looked up to, the look of fear and shock on your classmate’s faces as they stare up at you but you hate the way Bakugou’s chains are clanking against each other with every movement he makes.
“Get these chains off of him, now”
There’s complete silence as everyone waits for someone to come with the key and when no one moves, you look directly at where Aizawa and Present Mic are sitting way up in their announcement booth.
“I said, get him out of those chains, now” You reach to tug on one of the chains that are holding Bakugou tight, tight, tight against the rock, “Are you all deaf?”
Someone runs over with the key and the chains fall to the ground, the muzzle still intact and you reach over carefully, softly and undo the binds.
“Are you okay?” You ask him, soft fingers brushing past the harsh red lines on his cheeks as your eyes trail up and down to where his wrists are rubbed red and raw from the chains. Each bit of mistreatment fuels your rage even more.
Bakugou watches you, red eyes studying your every feature from your long and curled eyelashes to the apples of your cheeks and the curves of your lips.
“I’m so sorry they made you do something like this” you tell him and he furrows his eyebrows when you do because why are you apologizing for something you had no part in?
You brush your thumbs comfortingly over the fading red lines on his cheeks and he takes the time to memorize every detail of your face. He wonders what kind of perfume you have, the smell of something so welcoming and warm, so friendly and kind that it reminds him of something he cannot quite remember and he wants to close his eyes and stay like this forever and forget this whole ordeal had ever happened.
Before he can say anything, the sound of Aizawa’s voice is heard loud and clear through the stadium and you pull away from Bakugou with the same cold and calculated expression you had first worn when you saw Bakugou in chains.
“[surname], report to the principal’s office, now”
There’s a flash of fear that strikes your face but it’s wiped away just as quick as it had come and you turn back to face Bakugou with one last smile on your face.
“That’s my cue. Feel better okay?” You reach over to gently rub your thumb against the harsh lines on his face one last time before you turn away, making your way to the principal’s office as instructed with your head held high.
There’s one last moment of silence and then the stadium is in chaos as reporters desperately make their way over to you and the criticisms of the spectators who watched your outburst fill the once empty air.
Bakugou watches your figure become a tiny speck in the distance as he’s left behind on the stage with only your faint touch, the sweet perfume you wore and the apologies for something you did not do left as a reminder of you.
His year at UA just got a lot more interesting

Chapter 9
Warnings: None, swf.
Author’s note: Chapter 10 will hopefully be up later or tomorrow. I’m still editing it.
After my sudden outburst, Aizawa and I barely talked unless it involved the students or his injuries. Recovery Girl said at his last check-up that he would fully recover after four more visits, which was good to hear. I felt bad, but I was kind of relieved that I didn't have to deal with him for very long. I just wanted to keep our relationship professional. I didn't want to get into personal issues or have intimate connections with him. I thought he did too, but I could tell he was rather disappointed that I was completely dodging any chances to talk to him about anything else but work. Even at work, I mostly kept to myself, or I spoke with Lily and Kayama. With some occasional lunches with Iris and Toshinori. There was one time that I left to talk to Nezu about any other issues that erupted from parents and students about the festival and came back to my desk to see an iced coffee on my desk with a pastry next to it. At first, I assumed one of the girls or Toshinori got it for me. Heck, even Vlad sometimes brings me stuff whenever he grabs something off-campus. But there was a sticky note left on my mouse saying, "You skipped breakfast this morning." And I knew it was Aizawa. It helped create a lump in my throat and a sinking feeling in me out of guilt. But I mainly pushed it aside because I had to get ready for my meetings with students in preparation for the Sports Festival. Today was their last session before they had to go to the arena.
I packed up my stuff and grabbed my tablet to start heading to the separate counseling lounge that Nezu set up for the counselor's to use as he starts building separate offices for all of us. It was larger than the teacher lounge to separate the different counseling departments and give them small rooms to counsel students. Lily and I decided to split up the use this week. She got it Monday and Tuesday, I got it Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday was open to both of us. We just split it between the morning and afternoon. On the day of the festival, Todoroki asked to see me before it started. By the time I got to the lounge, I saw him standing outside the door waiting.
Oh god, he's like Endeavor and super early to things. I tapped his shoulder, "Good morning, Todoroki. I hope you weren't waiting for too long?"
Todoroki bowed his head a little, "No, I just got here. I didn't assume that you were still in the teacher's lounge."
"I'm sorry for being late then since you came early. Now let's go in and so we can get to what you wanted to talk about." I gave him a reassuring smile and guided him into the room. Once we were situated, I decided to spark up the conversation. "So, what was concerning you that you needed to come to me today?"
Todoroki played around with his fingers. Despite the boy being awkward and mostly stoic, he still had his moments where he showed nervousness. Most of them being in our sessions. "It's not really about the festival; it's mainly about my father. He's coming to see the festival like everyone else. And well, I don't want him to be expecting me to show off his training and his quirk."
The poor boy never really told anyone about what his father did to him and his family. He only felt inclined to tell me after I told him a little bit about how my family was with my quirk in our first session. Afterward, everything from the arranged quirk marriage, to his brother Touya, and his mother's psychotic break came pouring out of the fifteen-year-old's mouth. He felt that he could trust me because my grandparents saw me as nothing more than a weapon kind of how his father only wanted children to surpass All Might. "Have you spoken to your father at all today?"
"Not yet, but I know he'll want to talk to me between the rounds. I kind of want to use today as a way to prove that I am powerful without his quirk. But I wanted to know if you would do that?" He looked me in the eyes in all seriousness.
"I can't really tell you what to do, Todoroki. I wholeheartedly understand what you are feeling from my own experience. I mean, I never wanted to use my quirk, and I didn't until I went to UA, you know this. But remember that my quirk was my quirk. Not my mother's, not my grandparents. Just like your quirk. Yes, it has elements of your mother's and father's quirk. But overall, it is your quirk; you could do whatever you want with it as long as you're comfortable."
"That's not what I asked."
I sighed and pushed my glasses further up my nose. "You want me to tell you the truth? In retaliation against my teacher and Nezu, I refused to train with my quirk. Even when I did my first work-study, I didn't use it. It wasn't until one of my friends found out why I didn't want to use and told me the same thing I just told you that I decided to look at my quirk differently. So, once upon a time, I used not to use it because I didn't like it, and I wanted to prove that I didn't need it to be a hero." I looked at him sincerely, "It wasn't easy, especially with the way I was brought up with my family. That's why I am saying that it's best to do what's most comfortable but also to distance yourself and your quirk from that of your family."
He just stayed quiet, processing what I said.
"To be fair, I feel that you are efficient enough in your ice ability that you won't need to use the fire half of your quirk. So if you feel comfortable only using that, you will be fine. I just don't want you to be doing this because you're holding resentment over your father." I put a hand on his knee. "The worst thing you could do things out of anger and resentment because that will only bring yourself pain."
He simply nodded, "I just want him to feel some type of pain like he put us through. So he wouldn't be so prideful."
I gave him a sad smile, "Sometimes the most prideful people are the ones that hold the most pain. But I don't think you're ready to hear about that in correlation to your dad." He sent me a small, sad smile back. I decided to joke with him a little, "Don't worry, if the day doesn't come that your dad regrets everything and does nothing but apologizes to you and your beautiful family, I will personally beat him up and risk my Japanese hero license for you."
He let out a small laugh at the thought of his large father being pummeled by his small counselor, "I'll take you up on that offer. Thank you."
"Anytime, kid. Anything you need, just give me a call, and I'll be there." Todoroki got up and left the office. I don't think I fully helped him out yet. Honestly, I just wanted to call the authorities on Endeavor, but I knew with his status and money it wouldn't do anything and that the Todoroki family are just in the same state I was in the U.S. But I at least try to do what I can. I really hope one day he just starts living for himself, though, and not because he wants to anger his father.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I managed to squeeze by a few people that came early to the festival to find MIc and Aizawa waiting for me by the arena entrance. Mic gleamed at me and hugged me tightly, slightly lifting me, "I'm so excited that you decided to join us! It was Shota's idea, but I figured since you guys weren't buddy-buddy right now, you would've changed your mind."
I furrowed my eyebrows as Mic put me down and looped his arm around mine, "Aizawa told me you wanted him to ask me?"
"Well, I did after he mentioned that you should join us." He let out a toothy grin. I looked over at Aizawa, who just avoided my eyes and glared at Mic. "You look cute today; I like the sweatshirt." I was wearing my dark green sweatshirt from UCLA that I had since high school. It was one of my mom's old shirts from college that I managed to steal for myself. "Green fits you. Amongst other things."
I chuckled, "Always the flirt. Save that for Iris."
"Iris is too oblivious to notice Mic likes her." Aizawa grumbled.
"I don't think it's her being oblivious, more so naive." I defended.
"Anyways, here we are to the fantastic commentators' booth!" Mic held his hands out, showcasing the booth steering the conversation away from his crush. "This is where we will be for the next... three hours? Or four?"
"Four." Aizawa and I both answered.
"For the next four hours! So get comfy, mi amigos!" He yelled as he got a chair out for me.
"It's 'mis amigos'..." I muttered as I helped Aizawa sit down before sitting down myself. Mic just patted my head, avoiding my bun, and went straight to announcing the start of the festival.
"ALRIGHT GOOD MORNING! Here we are at the beginning of UA's famous annual sports festival! I am Present Mic, your friendly commentator, and I have Pro Hero Eraserhead and Pro Hero Zion joining me." Aizawa and I bid our hellos, and then Mic later explained the set up of the festival and how it all was broadcasted. "Yes, everything is being filmed via the robots surrounding the perimeter of the arena, catching every angle. There's even one in the booth with us. Wave you guys!"
The robot positioned itself right in front of the three of us, and I immediately turned into Aizawa's shoulder, "Mic! You didn't mention we were going to be on camera!"
"Awe, don't act camera-shy, number two! The camera loves you!" He rubbed my shoulder.
"I didn't bring my suit! I'm in my civilian clothes." I moved my hand to smack his away and then bringing it back up to cover my face.
Aizawa wrapped his arm around my head to help, "You didn't tell me either that we were going to be filmed."
"You guys are the smartest people I know; I thought it was common sense." Mic shrugged and then went back to talking, shoo-ing the camera robot away. "I'll make sure the robot doesn't get your face. It will focus on Eraser and me, okay?"
My head was still hiding in Aizawa, "I don't believe you, but fine." I felt a small vibration coming from his chest, and my ears heard a slick hearty chuckle that made my face burn and my heart stop. I felt him squeeze me a little as he did this, like a silent sign telling me that the camera was gone.
"The coast is clear." Aizawa's lips were centimeters away from my ear. His breath tickled the flushed skin, and his voice sent tingles down my spine. No, no, no. He can't still be able to do this to me.
I cautiously moved away from him and searched for the camera. It was situated at the corner focused on Mic as he talked. I looked over to Aizawa, who looked at me with nothing but warmth in his eyes. Damn, don't look at me like that. "I... uh... thanks." I felt my lips curl up nervously as my stomach went crazy doing gymnastics.
"You okay, Zion? You look flushed? You need us to turn down the heat or something?" Mic said into the microphone.
I looked at him, slightly mortified that my blush was that evident, "Yeah, I'm fine! Don't worry about me, heh, heh." Why are you like this?
The blond raised an eyebrow at me and went back to introducing the students to their first challenge, "Alright... Well, is there anything you want to say to the students as they go through the festival? Like any wise words that will help them through the rounds."
Aizawa grunted unamused, "They should look out for the door."
I laughed, "That might not seem helpful, but trust me, it is. I would just say to the kids that do not forget to have some fun. And to not pressure themselves for whatever reasons they have. The festival shows what you guys can do, but it is also meant to be enjoyable for everyone. Oh, and make sure you don't just focus on yourself in the games... Good luck!"
We sat back as the cameras cut to the students at the arena's entrance, struggling to go through the narrow hallway. Most of them haven't really figured out that this was kind of the first test. It's supposed to test your intelligence and strategic skills.
"Remember your first festival, Zion?" Mic spoke up and handed me the microphone.
"Ah, yeah, no one warned me about how it was going to be because I was new to the school and Japan. But I got the hang of it and ended up in first place." I reminisced. "I almost destroyed the arena, though, which made a lot of Japanese citizens unhappy with me." I rubbed my neck, and nervously laughed.
"Oh my god! Zion literally blasted the whole stage of the arena after mimicking Mister Blaster and using his quirk against him with a mix of her energy blast. It was totally awesome! Mainly because he was a huge jerk back then, so we all liked seeing him get a taste of his own medicine."
"Mic!" I smacked his chest.
"He's not wrong. We all did enjoy that fight." Aizawa commented.
"And these guys are pro heroes, everyone." I flatly said.
"We're just being honest. Oh look, your students were the first ones out." Mic pointed at the entrance, and there was Yaoyorozu, Todoroki, Kirishima, Bakugo, and Aoyama using their quirks to move ahead of everyone else through the entrance.
"Awe! I'm so proud of them!" I chanted. Aizawa just looked expectantly at them.
"You can't be biased while up here, Zion." Aizawa nudged me.
"I'm just saying I'm proud of them, that's all." I pouted.
Aizawa just shook his head and sighed at me. I decided to withhold my excitement throughout the rest of the rounds. My kids were so talented; I couldn't help but be happy at how well they were doing. The only thing that caused me concern was Bakugo's confidence; it really didn't sit well with the other students or even the audience. We knew that there was bad blood between the hero course students and the other students, especially with Class 1-A, which definitely worried me. Aizawa, however, really didn't care; he always said it adds character for the class. So really, this whole festival is mainly a competition for the other courses to bring down the hero course kids. Bakugo being overconfident, was only fueling the fire.
Midoriya was another concern. All Might gave him a pep talk about how this was practically his debut, which it wasn't, but now the kid has it in his head that he really has to prove himself today. So, essentially, I'm worried that if he pushes himself too much, he will end up hurting himself further instead of taking my advice and toning it down. I hate that the teachers told the students that they had to take this festival seriously because all the pros would be seeing them. Now all the kids are trying to get recruited when they need just to enjoy the festival. When there is no pressure, and they're stress-free, they can better use their quirks. Honestly, the students were going to put in their all anyway because it was common knowledge that the festival was broadcasted. They didn't need to be told that they needed to get recruited due to the festival. But alas, the new curriculum of the first years requires them to go through the same process as second years to be more prepared for their pro careers.
"Could you stop tapping your foot? The noise is a little distracting." Aizawa brought me out of my thoughts.
"Eraserhead, Zion, Class 1-A is super impressive in these rounds; what are you doing to get them to be this great?" Mic asked.
"I didn't do anything. This is all of the fruit of the fires they lit on their own." Aizawa answered seriously and pridefully.
"Zion? What about you?"
"I just give them encouragement." I shrugged.
"Well, there you have it, folks. Eraserhead is a terrible teacher, and Zion is great emotional support!" Mic happily belted out.
"I'm what?" Aizawa angrily asked as I laughed.
"Now, now, I actually think Eraserhead is a great teacher. He pushes the students out of their comfort zone and encourages them to follow their instincts and heart when it comes to their training and studies. All I do is make sure that he keeps doing that and doesn't burn out the students, which he hasn't. He treats his students with proper care and concern. Call it a good mix of tough love and emotional support." I defended Aizawa. "However, I don't think he likes that I pretty much see behind his stoic nature and point out how much he cares about his students."
"That was a nice sentiment, M&M. Nearly brought a tear in my eye. Would you say that he does most of the work involving Class 1-A, and you just piggyback off of him?" Mic teased.
I glared at him, "No. It's a mutual partnership."
"Yeah, I know all the late nights working on better lesson plans for the students you guys do." Mic wiggled his eyebrows at me and smirked at the camera. Both Aizawa and I were ready to throw hands at our friend.
"I might have my license suspended right now, but I am willing to throw you out of this booth if you don't take your commentary seriously, Mic." I threatened.
"OHHHHH, someone's acting catty now." Mic laughed. "I'm just messing around with you, my little M&M." He pinched my cheeks as I smacked his hand away from me.
By the first round, I noticed the students' placement and saw Midoriya was in the first place. Oh great, that's not good. I was afraid that this was going to happen. Now, he's going to know what it really means to be the top hero, even if it's just a festival. I wish you all the luck right now, Izuku. You're going to need it now since everyone is going to be after your spot.
