#that red daughter and lena together bothers her because SHE loves lena

Note
I think if Red Daughter had stuck around Kara would have had a lot of compassion and fellow-feeling for her. She would have tried to befriend her
oh 100%. though there would undoubtedly be some adjustment to the thought of 'ok she's me but like... not', kara is too overflowing with love and compassion to not try and help red daughter in any way she could, including initiating her into her little family the same way she did lena

Whistle
Yelena Belova x reader, oneshot, mentions of Natasha's death, angst, hopefully ending, took a few liberties with Yelena's fake family
You woke up alone. Again. Third time during the last two weeks. Even with your eyes closed, you knew she wasn't around. Familiar anxiety was already crawling under your skin, coming up to your throat.
Cold floor, soft fabrics of the robe, click of a lamp. Exactly the same occurances and exactly in the same order.
And then you heard it. That damn whistle. Harmless by itself but so critical for you both. For Yelena it was a constant reminder of something terrible, that she never shared with you. For you it was an indication that this very moment your girl was drowning in pain and regrets you couldn't possibly fathom.
Trying not to wake up your dogs, you followed the note. Yelena was sitting in the kitchen, staring blankly at the half full bottle of vodka, she didn't even bother to use a glass. Smoldering cigarette in her hand and who knew how many already burnt ones in the ashtray.
"Oh, isn't it my favourite girl?"
You could barely understand her. Her usually adorable accent became so much thicker. You were surprised she didn't attack you with her favourite Russian curse words. Maybe everything wasn't as bad.
"Yes, I'm here."
You wanted to get her at least a glass and clean the ashtray, but Yelena caught you with her free hand. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Nowhere, I'm with you." You let her hug you. "How are you?"
"Great. Don't you see it?" She smiled in your chest.
"Yeah, I do."
You started massaging her scalp, carefully trying to bring her back to you from that whistle.
"You're so good, girl." She moaned. "I'm sorry, I woke you up."
"It's ok." You felt her grip on your back tightening. "Nightmares again?"
"Yes."
"Wanna talk?"
"Nope."
Sometimes you were wondering how strong this woman actually was. Being able to overcome so many obstacles, so many enemies and still being able to show her vulnerable side. Fighting, surviving, sharing a life with someone. You admired her. And you hated the world for making this woman suffer so much.
"How long have you been here?"
"Well." She looked at the bottle. "An hour or something."
Not long enough for her to get really drunk. But enough for her to muffle the memories.
"How are so warm?" Her nails were already digging in your skin.
"How are you so adorable?" You kissed her forehead. "Let me go, Lena. I'm going to make us coffee. Since it's already 5 a.m."
"Fine." She reluctantly freed you.
"Oh, and no more smoking."
As an answer Yelena mumbled something inaudible. But it was Russian and it wasn't a praise.
When she returned from the bathroom, she already felt better. Cold water helped her to sober up a little.
When she came back her cup of coffee was waiting for her.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome." You were already sipping yours.
"I can only imagine how much you hate me right now." Yelena preferred not to look at you at all, already feeling the guilt.
"Don't say that. I'm worried about you. You're sleeping less, drinking more, being somewhere very far from here. How long will you be able to go on like this?"
"I don't know. It's just...maybe it's because of the anniversary or..."
"Anniversary of what?"
Yelena saw genuine concern in your eyes, heard it in your tone, felt it for months in your touches. She had to tell you. What if it freed her, what if it helped her to cope with the loss. She couldn't handle it on her own any more.
"In three days. I promise, I'll explain everything."
Those three days were so ordinary. With routines and talks, and reality. Both of you carefully avoided the subject. Until Yelena told you to get ready.
She didn't tell you where you were going, remaining silent for hours. Seeing her like this was devastating. But from time to time Yelena glanced at you as if to remember she wasn't alone.
You don't know how many hours you spent on the road. It didn't matter, once you got to your destanation.
A graveyard. Yelena never told you about this. Never told you about deaths of her close people, you were not even sure she had them.
When you were about to enter it, she whistled as if to hear something in return. But she only heard rustle of leaves.
You held her hand, interwining fingers. Her veins needed to be filled with trust and love, yours with her despair and fear.
She looked at you and nodded. Your walk took around 20 minutes, when Yelena suddenly stopped. You followed her gaze to the one of the tombstones.
Natasha Romanoff. Of course you knew who that was. Everybody knew. A hero who saved you all, a woman who defeated pure evil. Her and Tony's monuments were in every big city. But apparently this was her real grave. Or rather symbolic one. You knew Yelena had her ties with Avengers, but she never told you she knew Natasha.
"Daughter, sister, Avenger."
Sister. Natasha was the sister from Yelena's dreams, the one whom she so loudly was searching for. Not the metaphorical black widow from the same mission.
"I'm sorry, I never told you about her. She was a part of a past long forgotten." Yelena regretted, she didn't bring you here before. How could she be so ignorant to think, you could make it worse for her.
"Your sister."
"Yes. Adopted one. We didn't have much time together. She just had to save the world, you know?"
"She was a hero. The one others aspire to be."
You walked closer. Now you could see all the flowers and toys, and letters, and candles, and who knew what else.
Yelena got down on her knees and whispered something. She was greeting her sister, was telling that she was not alone. Not anymore.
"She would be proud of you. You've come a long way since the old days." You carefully avoided all the mentions of the Red Room.
"I hope so. Red on the ledger. That's how she used to call it."
"You whistle to her?" You knelt down to Yelena's level.
"Yes. That's a stupid thing from childhood. Whenever she whistled back, I knew I had a family to come to. With my fake mother being the mastermind of the mind control and fake father being a jerk, Natasha was the only family I had. Do you think... you think... one day we can become a family?"
This question caught you off guard. You never talked about it. You loved Yelena deeply, but you were not sure she was ready for such commitments.
The pause was too long. Yelena could read the doubts in your look.
"It's not because I need a replacement or something. I thought about it a lot. And I'm ready to have a responsibility."
"Are you sure?" You didn't want to give to both of you false hope.
"I know, I'm far from perfect. But... yes, a family."
"A family. I want it with you." How could you say no to her. To the woman you already knew, you wanted to spend your life with.
"And you will always whistle me back?"
"Always."

Lori’s graduation
Someone requested this so here is a short ficlet about how I’d imagine Kara and Lena reacting to Lori’s graduation day
-----
There was nothing in the world Lena could’ve done to prepare herself for the morning she walked into Lori’s room and saw her standing in her white dress, standing over her dresser, curling her hair. So many days before, she or Kara had come in to see her standing in the same exact spot getting ready for the day. They’d come to tell her she was running late for school or to see if she wanted breakfast before she left because she was bound to get caught up with her friends or school work and end up forgetting to eat lunch.
But today was different. It was something that both Lena and Kara had convinced themselves was a million years in the future. They knew it was coming, and yet somehow they’d both come to the agreement that they’d never have to face it, even if it was a good thing.
“Mom, I can see you staring,” Lori said, playfully glaring at her through the mirror.
“I’m sorry,” Lena smiled and raised her hands up in defense. “I’m just enjoying my last few minutes with my baby as a high schooler.”
Lori rolled her eyes. “You’re so dramatic.”
“I know. But soon you’re gonna off at college, living off ramen noodles and espresso and I’m not gonna get to bother you in person,” Lena said.
“I’m not gonna be that far,” Lori countered.
But you won’t be here. Lena thought to herself. She didn’t say anything though. Lori was over the moon about getting into MIT-- and so was Lena, of course. It was just finally starting to set in that Lori was going to be leaving.
She couldn’t picture life without her. She’d even spent a good few weeks trying to get Lori to apply to Cornell because it was in New York which was closer to National City then Massachusetts. But Lori refused, insisting that Cornell was too stuck up and she didn’t want to turn into Andy Bernard. Plus she’d had her MIT dream board hanging above her bed ever since the summer before her sophomore year when she’d gotten to do a week-long STEM program with almost all incoming high school seniors and be taught by college professors. And being just as stubborn as Lena, once Lori set her mind to it, both her parents knew that no matter what she was going to get in.
“Hey, how’s everyone-- Oh, Lori, you look beautiful,” Kara exclaimed as she came into Lori’s room.
“Thank you,” Lori responded, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
“Okay, let’s give her a minute to finish up alone,” Lena said with a chuckle. She intertwined her fingers with Kara’s and they stepped outside Lori’s room, shutting the door behind them.
“Can you believe this is actually happening?” Kara asked, a cheesy grin plastered on her lips.
Lena shook her head. “Not at all. I feel like just yesterday we were dropping her off at her first day of middle school. I can’t believe she’s gonna be going to college in a few months.”
Kara nodded. It felt so surreal. She couldn’t even begin to explain how proud she was of her daughter or how insane everything she’d been accomplishing was.
“I can, she’s been waiting for it ever since she knew what college was,” Kara said, laughing at the thought of ten-year-old Lori who used to stay up late with her and Lena, telling them about what she was going to study and how she was going to become a neurosurgeon or an astronaut or Kara’s personal favorite-- a beekeeper. Even though she’d been through so much at that young age and had absolutely every reason to feel like there was no point in looking towards the future, she always had so much hope and even more passion. It was probably the thing Kara admired most about her as she watched Lori grow up.
“I know, I just can’t believe she’s all grown up,” Lena said with a pout.
“She’s not that grown-up,” Kara reassured. “She forgot how to use the washing machine last week so I’d say she still needs us.”
“Yeah but she’s graduating,” Lena said, smiling softly. “And you know me, I love to worry.”
“I know, but you did a pretty good job with her.”
“So did you.”
----
As soon as the name “Lorelai Luthor-Danvers” was announced to the auditorium and Lori started to walk to the stage, the entire row of chairs occupied by Kara, Lena, and their entire family erupted into cheers. Their excitement radiated throughout the room, from her crying parents to Alex and Maggie, who was holding up their son so he could see, to Eliza who was filming the whole thing. And even though the venue was huge, from where they were sitting in the sea of seats, Lena and Kara could both see how bright red Lori’s face turned when she looked into the audience and saw her entire extended family freaking out.
“That’s our kid!” Lena turned to Kara in disbelief. “Look at her! That’s our kid!”
“That’s our baby girl,” Kara responded, beaming proudly from ear to ear.
Kara wrapped her arm around Lena’s waist and pulled her close, cheering extra loudly as Lori walked off the stage, still blushing as red as a beet. “God, how did we get so lucky?” She asked before reaching down to kiss her wife.
She knew they were probably going to get an earful from Lori later about how embarrassing they were, but Kara couldn’t care less. They were all together on her day, and that was all that mattered.

chapter 19 of don’t read the last page is here!
masterpost
[kristanna / m / multichap / modern au with actress!anna and vetstudent!kristoff]
“I, uh, am I supposed to be scared?”
“Are you?”
“...only if I’m supposed to be.”
She laughed and held out her hand palm-up. “Hold on to me. Trust me, it helps.”
chapter 19: six weeks or so
When she saw Kristoff waiting for her by the car, she didn't so much embrace him as crash into him, flinging her suitcases aside to throw her arms around his waist and hold on tight.
He caught her with equal enthusiasm, pressing her so close to his chest she could feel his heartbeat thudding against her cheek.
"I missed you," she choked out, tears already welling over.
"It's okay," he murmured, running a hand over her hair. "You're back now. I've got you."
"Russia is cold as fuck."
"Were you surprised?"
"No, I just-- fuck, it's good to be back in LA."
He chuckled and pulled back enough to get a glimpse at her face. "I take it you didn't sleep on the plane."
"Not even for a minute. I don't even remember what day it's supposed to be."
"February eighteenth. And it's Saturday, so you're stuck with me all day."
"Oh, thank god, I-- wait, you got up this early on a weekend to get me?"
"Well, yeah. I didn't want to wait any longer than I had to to see you."
"Jesus. Are you like, real? Am I actually asleep now and dreaming this?"
He kissed her forehead and pulled back to open the trunk of his car. "No, this is real."
"God, I'm lucky," she said with a happy sigh, admiring the way his arms flexed as he heaved her suitcases into the trunk. "You're hot and you love me. And smart!"
"Did you sleep at all the last day or so?"
"Nope," she said cheerfully. "So the reunion sex has to wait til after I nap this time."
---
“Was it all bad?”
“No, there were some good moments. Like I did have one afternoon to go sightseeing with Honey. I tweeted those pictures, did you see?”
“Mhmm. You looked adorable in that big fur hat,” Kristoff said, leaning over to where she was perched on the edge of the counter to kiss her on the cheek.
“And Honey made it bearable, and the not-Hans people are mostly okay. Oh! And Katerina was lovely, that’s the little girl who plays Anastasia when she’s younger. They’re doing that whole first bit in Russian, and she didn’t really know much English, but she was so cute, look!”
She held up her phone to show him a picture of her grinning ear to ear as she knelt beside a little girl with bright blue eyes, waist-length red hair, and a missing front tooth; they looked so similar that for a moment he had an uncanny feeling that he was looking at a picture of a mother and daughter.
“Yeah, she’s adorable,” he said, unsure why there was suddenly a lump in his throat.
“And she was so sweet with the dog-- I told you they’re keeping that in, right, from the original one? Anyway, by the end they were inseparable. I could tell you would get along with her, too.”
He set down the spatula then and went over to kiss her properly, setting his hands on her waist and tugging her as close as he could without pulling her completely off the counter. She let out a little surprised laugh, though she met him with enthusiasm, and when he pulled away she asked breathlessly, “What was that for?”
“Just because.”
---
There was a loud thump, followed by a hissed, “Fuck, shit that hurt!”, and then another much louder thump followed by something so vulgar he felt himself blush just listening to it.
He sat up, fumbling for his glasses on the nightstand. “Anna? What are you doing up? I thought you said you don’t have to film anything else.”
“I don’t. But I set up a meeting with Lena this morning to talk about options.”
“Oh.”
He wasn’t awake enough to deal with that kind of problem just yet, and so instead he switched the lamp on. “What did you drop?”
“I set my heels on top of the drawers so I would see them and remember to wear them. The tall ones that make me feel like a badass? And then, uh, I tried to get dressed in the dark and knocked one of them onto my foot, and it turns out those heels hurt when they land on you, and then I, uh, I tripped and ran into the dresser.”
“Sounds like you’re going to have a bruise.”
“A massive one that Honey will get annoyed at me for. You wouldn’t believe how much concealer she’s wasted on me doing stupid shit.”
She finished putting her earrings in and clacked over to him, still in the heels. “Have fun at work today, baby, okay?”
“I’ll try. Depends on what shit Ryder pulls.”
She laughed at that and leaned down to kiss him. “Love you.”
“Love you back.”
And he was having fun at work, really, especially when he spent his lunch break playing fetch with the dogs who were staying in the kennels, but then his phone buzzed with a call from Anna.
“Hey, sweetheart, what’s up?” he asked, hoping she couldn’t tell he was already worrying; she never called at work.
“Fuck! I’m so fucking pissed, I-- oh, hello, sorry, I skipped that part. Love you. Anyway, fuck!”
“What’s wrong?”
“So I like, told Lena how shitty Hans was, and that you and I had been talking about eventually going public, and she was all ‘well it’s really good for your reputation to be in the news this much’ and I was like ‘um but I don’t like being in the tabloids’ and she was like ‘but it’s good for your career so really I was thinking we could play this up’ even though I told her at the beginning I don’t want to encourage it, you know?”
“Uh-huh.”
“And then she was annoyed at me, like ‘look at all your Twitter followers now’ and stuff and just like...fuck. Like I know she knows how to do this shit way better than me, but still. I told her no, by the way, still no playing into it. Which I would have done even if I didn’t know it bothers you because it bothers me, so don’t start feeling guilty.”
She knew him too well; he’d been getting ready to apologize already. “I won’t.”
“Well, then, she was like ‘the hype is going to die down til the trailer drops this summer if we don’t do something so next weekend I got you lined up for some talk show stuff, and Hans is doing SNL and surprise, you’ve got a cameo with him on that and also he’ll be on the talk shows too’ and just. I told her how much he sucks, you know? And that I really needed a break from traveling.”
“But this’ll be really good, Anna,” he said, making sure he was out of earshot of anyone who might overhear and put two and two together. “For your career and the movie. You gotta go.”
She sighed heavily. “I know. But like, I haven’t even gotten to see my sister in a month. And they’re probably gonna put me in a hotel with Hans, and he’ll try to come up with some excuse to come talk to me in my room--”
“Can I come with you?” Kristoff asked, surprising even himself. “I mean, if it’s for SNL, it’s on the weekend, right?”
There was a beat of silence, and then she replied, “Oh my god. Oh my god, would you really do that?”
“Um...go on a weekend trip with my girlfriend to a city I’ve never seen? Is that a question?”
“We’d have to leave Friday, though.”
“That’s fine. I get a day off each month, and I haven’t used any yet.”
“You’re telling me it’s March, and you’ve been stressed as fuck, and you still haven’t missed a day?”
“Um…”
“Okay, you’re definitely coming with me. And we’re doing touristy shit the whole time. Well, the whole time I’m not doing dumb interviews or whatever. Anyway, I just got to set. See you tonight?”
“Why did you say that like it’s a question? We live together.”
“I don’t know. Makes it feel more exciting that way, like we’re still in the exciting dating part and not basically already an old married couple.”
“It’s still exciting to me.”
“Aww, Kris,” she said, her voice softening. “You’re too cute. I can’t wait to actually be half of an old married couple with you.”
Unconsciously, his hand went to his pocket, where he was keeping the receipt from the jewelry store. He was picking it up after work today. “Me, either.”
---
“Do you think people can tell this is a wig?”
“No. I barely recognized you when you came out of the bathroom this morning.”
“Liar. But you’re sweet for saying so.”
He laughed and squeezed her hand. She was in the window seat, wearing a brunette wig cut into a bob, a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up over it, and a pair of sunglasses for good measure, and still to be certain she went unrecognized, they had gone through security and boarding separately. Now they were seated in first class, and, mercifully Hans had beaten them there and already attracted all the attention to himself. Except for his own, of course; he had already made excuses to walk past their row twice before the plane had even taken off.
Kristoff heard the engines start up and cleared his throat. “Um. Is it too late to tell you I’ve never flown before?”
“Never? I knew that in high school, but I thought surely…”
“Nope. I, uh, am I supposed to be scared?”
“Are you?”
“...only if I’m supposed to be.”
She laughed and held out her hand palm-up. “Hold on to me. Trust me, it helps.”
He squeezed her hand and felt a prickling at the back of his neck. He turned and met Hans’s glittering green eyes across the aisle. For a moment they just stared at each other; then Hans smirked and returned his attention to his phone.
Kristoff turned to face the front again, grateful Anna’s attention was on the menu and thus that she’d missed the moment of tension. He had a funny feeling that wouldn’t be the only such moment this weekend.
---
“Yes, it’s been a dream come true,” she said with a grin. “I mean, getting to be a literal princess? What girl doesn’t want that?”
“It’s your second time wearing a crown. Do you think this movie will be as successful as Crowned on Christmas?”
“Oh, definitely. I mean, the number of amazing, talented people on set--”
And there was Hans’s goddamn hand on her knee again. “I agree,” he said, smoothly interrupting her. “It’s been such an amazing experience working with Anna.”
She crossed her legs, forcing his hand to fall away. At least it wasn’t on her shoulder again this time; that had taken her a whole minute and a half to shuffle out of. She caught the host’s eye in a silent plea for help, but he didn’t seem to notice.
“And the rumors about the two of you?”
Hans laughed. “It’s flattering, to be sure, to have my name linked with someone like our Anna here. But I like to keep some parts of my life private.”
“Me, too,” Anna said quickly, but Hans’s hand settled over her shoulders again all the same.
When she was finally, mercifully off the set and backstage again, she didn’t even bother with a makeup wipe before grabbing Kristoff’s hand and pulling him out the stage door, heading straight for the car that was waiting for them. Mercifully, no fans had come around back yet, and so she dropped his hand only long enough to get in the backseat.
Neither of them spoke until they were nearly to the hotel, and then she turned to him suddenly, her eyes fierce. “I fucking hate that guy.”
Kristoff only nodded, his eyes dark and unfathomable.
“And I’m gonna take an insanely hot shower until I like, burn away all of him from my skin.”
He nodded again and set his hand over hers, squeezing hard.
The silence resumed as they made their way upstairs, timing it so they wouldn’t be seen in the lobby together. She went first and was already stripped down, the shower heating up, when she heard the door click open. She stepped back out to greet Kristoff, but before she could even get out a hello he was there, his hands tangling in her hair as he kissed her, hard.
“Fuck,” she managed to gasp out, hands already scrabbling at his waistband as he nipped at her lower lip. “Kris, I--”
She trailed off into a gasp. He had already moved down to her neck, pressing kisses hard enough she wondered if he was trying to leave a mark. “I love you, Anna,” he said, his breath hot against her skin.
“I love you, too. Only you,” she emphasized, and she felt him groan against her collarbone. “And I only want you to touch me.”
“Good. Because that’s how I’m planning on spending the rest of the night.”
---
It was too damn hot in the rehearsal room. She had to step out for a moment or she was going to puke up every bite of the room service they had ordered that morning, too lazy and exhausted after spending most of the night tangled in each other to bother even going two feet down the sidewalk for a bagel.
Hans raised an eyebrow as she stood. “You alright, Anna? We’re just about to be to the skit you’re in if you don’t mind waiting another minute for a break.”
She simpered at him, wishing she had the guts to tell him off then and there. “Be right back. Just need a piss.”
He blinked, affronted, but one of the women beside him snickered, which was enough to embolden her. She grabbed her purse from the back of her chair and marched off to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
She really did need to pee, but after that she dug through the bag in search of a Tums. “Come on, you’re in here somewhere-- aha!” she exclaimed triumphantly, pulling out a foiled packet.
Her smile dropped immediately; it was just her birth control, but as she went to drop it back in something caught her eye. She did some mental math, and then did it again, and then pulled out her phone and looked at a calendar of the last month. No, she thought, panic already rising in her chest, there should only be five. Not six.
She flicked to another app on her phone, the little one with the stupid flower icon. Surely she had just misremembered, it had been the first week in Russia and it’d only been, what, five or six weeks--
Twelve days late.
---
By the fountain. The big one. The one she had sent him a Google Maps pin for. He had checked three times; this was the right place. And it was the right place, too, with the first of the season’s flowers blooming around it, and surprisingly few people, and the sun was gorgeous and warm and sparkling on the water, and seriously, there was so much green. When would he have a chance like this in California?
He kept taking the box out of his pocket and opening to double check it, just to make sure it was still there. It felt unreal somehow, even though he’d had it for the last two weeks, just waiting at the back of the sock drawer.
He still couldn’t help but worry she wouldn’t like it, that it wouldn’t be enough for her. It was kind of small, really, not at all what you’d expect a rising starlet to wear. But he’d picked it out himself because he thought it was her style, and he’d paid for it all up front out of his savings, and he hoped that was enough to make up for its size.
Which was ridiculous to even worry about, because this was Anna, and all she had ever wanted from him was himself, which was maybe even more ridiculous than that.
He heard footsteps and quickly shoved the box back in his pocket, worried she might have caught a glimpse, but it was only an old man passing by and leaning on his cane who gave him a wink. “Good luck with that, kid,” the man said, and Kristoff offered him a weak smile and a nod.
And then there she was, radiant in the midafternoon light in a white sundress. He was struck suddenly by the thought of how she’d look coming down the aisle to him in something similar, and a smile broke out across his face, one that she didn’t return. In fact, as she drew closer, he realized that she looked exactly like she had on their trip to Disneyland after their third time in a row on Space Mountain.
“Kris,” she said the moment she came up to him, not even taking a moment to hug him, “I gotta tell you something.”
“Oh, uh--” He gulped. “I, uh, I kinda wanted to tell you something too. Or, er, ask you.”
“Oh-- oh! Oh, fuck! You go first, then.”
“Well-- I don’t know, it was supposed to be a surprise--”
“Do you want me to walk away and come back?”
“I...yeah, that, uh, that would be good.”
She did, and this time when she came over she was giving him a bright smile, her eyes already shining with emotion even before he got down on one knee.
“Anna,” he said as she drew closer to him, “you’re the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met. You’re the love of my life, and I know I kind of asked this before, but I want to ask it officially. Will you-- oh, fuck, baby, why are you crying so hard? Did I fuck it up?”
She let out a sob. “I think I’m pregnant.”

Chapter summary: The time travelling group must face a threat from under the planet and, in the process, save Avalon and Amy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While his companions slept, the Doctor roamed the TARDIS trying to find some entertainment. By now, he was used to the silence that followed every night for an agonizing 8 to 10 hours. Sometimes he had companions who really loved sleep and wouldn't show up for 12 hours! Twelve hours! Who slept for that long!?
Things were a bit different right now, though. Amy and Rory slept the usual eight hours humans took. They were set like stones. Lena and Avalon would vary. Sometimes poor Lena wouldn't be able to sleep well due to her asthma. As much as the Doctor tried, her asthma would just suddenly kick in and make it hard for her to sleep peacefully. Those were the nights he would be on red alert in case she needed something. He didn't want to bring her to the medbay when she had her own comfortable room, but he would make it so that it was the first room next the console room. But other times, she would sleep as soundly as Amy and Rory would. He liked those nights; he didn't like seeing his baby sister suffer.
And then there was Avalon. Oh, Miss Avalon Reynolds was the case when it came to sleeping.
Some nights she would disappear and sleep like anyone else. Sometimes she'd sleep less hours than the others but she would still sleep. Other nights would have her poking her head into the console room and trying to start some type of adventure while everyone else slept. The Doctor admitted that it was nice having somebody around to talk to while it was 'night', but he often worried that she wasn't getting enough rest. It was when he voiced these concerns that Avalon would get irritated and leave the console room in a storm.
That's also when the TARDIS would throw sparks at the Doctor's hands, like she was angry that he upset Avalon. 'Whose bloody side are you on!?' he would yell at the console only to get another spark as a response. And if Avalon happened to be around, she would laugh at him.
The Doctor wasn't very fond of those nights but he was even less fond of the nights where Avalon wouldn't sleep at all.
Those were the nights he sometimes genuinely feared.
Sometimes, Avalon wouldn't sleep for days and it would take a toll on her. She was irritable and sometimes she'd almost doze off in the middle of an adventure. The Doctor would feel sorry for her, as did the others, because it was clear that she wanted to sleep but she just couldn't. He'd offer to help her out but of course she would refuse. Apparently, being hopelessly stubborn was another side affect.
There were various nights where Avalon simply could not sleep and it wouldn't affect her. She didn't seem tired, she didn't act like it, so she would wander through the infinite corridors of the TARDIS. And because the TARDIS seemed to outright favorite her above anyone else - including one possibly jealous Doctor - the box would give her access to nearly every room available. Already Avalon had seen the library, the swimming pool, the bowling alley, the gardens, the gym and one time the Doctor's workroom which she loved and possibly tinkered with until the Doctor had to physically yank her out. She was a wanderer and an explorer, but sometimes the Doctor wanted to shake her until she would just agree to go to sleep.
Of course the Doctor would also admit that they did have some fun together when they actually went out on small trips. He didn't have to wait eight hours to continue adventuring with the others because Avalon was more than ready to go out during 'night'.
To be frank, it was a hit and miss with her. At least the Doctor couldn't say anymore that the nights were boring. He could never be bored when Avalon Reynolds was around.
Tonight, however, the TARDIS began humming in an odd manner...like it was trying to tell him something. Stopping, the Doctor carefully thought what the hums meant. "Avalon and Rory are fine, I just saw them..." he checked the two off his list, "...Amy and Lena...Amy usually's fine, but Lena..." he nodded, "...it has to be Lena. What's wrong with her, old girl? Is it the asthma again?" He raced out of the room and just like the times before, Lena's door was right after the console.
As he neared the door, he began to hear Lena's cries. "Lena?" he knocked on her door. "Baby sister, what's going on?"
"I'M SORRY!" she had screamed and the Doctor, panicking, ran right into the room. Lena was sitting on her bed, chest heaving from the terrible nightmare she'd had. Her eyes were wide and looking from one thing to another to make sure she was in her comfortable room now.
"Lena?" the Doctor cautiously approached her bed, presuming she'd had a nightmare. That was rare, she never had one even with all the trips they had.
Lena's eyes locked with his and immediately softened. "Big brother, did I wake you?"
The Doctor smiled, a bit amused, and shook his head. "Lena, you're the one who woke up screaming. I'd like to focus on you instead."
But that didn't please her. With a snort, she looked down. "Story of my life."
"What's wrong? Do you want me to call Avalon?" the Doctor thought that maybe Lena would feel more comfortable talking with her sister. Seeing as there was nothing physically wrong with Lena, he could go get Avalon now.
"No!" Lena had gasped suddenly, startling him. "I mean...I don't...I don't want her to come for nothing." She swallowed hard.
"It doesn't look like nothing..." the Doctor noted. There was a different sort of fear sitting in Lena's eyes and it made him worry. "I know it's not the same because we haven't known each other for a long time, but...you could talk to me about anything."
Lena contemplated for a moment. Could she trust him with a secret that had been a burden on her ever since she could remember? A secret that she'd learned to put away in the deepest corner of her mind but was now forcing its way back to the surface because...because of where they were?
"Lena?" the Doctor called when the brunette had gone silent. Unlike her sister, Lena failed miserably trying to hide what was bothering her. Avalon was a master at it. Lena's eyes were too frail to act like nothing was wrong. Lena was generally less guarded than Avalon.
"You can't tell anyone," she began in a faint whisper.
"I won't-"
"I mean you literally cannot tell anyone, Doctor," Lena looked him directly in the eyes. "Especially not Avalon."
"I swear I won't," the Doctor raised a hand. "But what is it?"
Lena swallowed hard and looked down, biting her lip. "I...I know something...that I really shouldn't. That I wish I didn't." She closed her eyes for a moment, her lower lip becoming like a chewing gum. "Because it makes me feel really guilty."
"What is it?" the Doctor reached for her hand. The fact she was saying words like those and looking like she did was a big alert that this was no ordinary nightmare she had.
"When I was young, a lot of times I couldn't go outside and play because of my illness so Avalon would invite Amy, Rory and our friend Mels to play inside instead. Our favorite game was hide-and-seek and one time...when I was meant to be hiding...I heard something I shouldn't have from my parents." Lena closed her eyes again and gripped the Doctor's hand. "I really wish I hadn't heard it, big brother, because then I wouldn't have turned into an accomplice and I wouldn't be lying to my sister every day."
The Doctor, although confused, was beginning to make connections on his own but he decided to let Lena get it off her chest. He assumed she had yet to tell anyone and it would do her good to have one opportunity to do it.
"We don't look alike, Avalon and I, not because we're fraternal twins...but because we're not twins at all. I-I don't know what we are, if we're not, but I just know that Avalon isn't my mother's daughter," Lena sniffled more and more as she spoke the words out loud. "I was young, and I got scared...so I ran out before I could finish hearing my parents. Since then I keep getting the same dream over and over of that moment, like a plague..."
"You've been carrying that secret for a long time," the Doctor patted her hand gently.
"I was good at keeping it away," Lena admitted. "But then we came here-" she gestured to the TARDIS as a whole, "-where I thought that Avalon could finally start her own life but instead she keeps focusing on me and missing the bigger picture. It makes me feel awful that she spends all this time on me when I'm not even her sister."
"Avalon has a big heart, and I think she would rather die than let anything happen to you," the Doctor smiled. "But that's no reason to feel guilty, Lena. You should feel special that someone loves you this much."
"I can't, because I don't deserve it,"Lena shook her head.
"What? Lena!"
"It's true!"
"No, it's really not. You've given Avalon the gift of sisterhood, a confidant from the very start of her life. It's always been you two and that is something that no one can replace!"
"I can't tell her," Lena bit her lip, expecting for the Doctor to give her some sermon about telling the truth because Avalon deserved it.
"If you think that's what needs to be done, then you have my support," he surprised her with instead.
"You really...would keep this from her?"
"It's not my story to tell."
"I just...I just don't want you to think that I'm being selfish by not telling Avalon. I-I'm not a bad person, I promise. I just...I would like to spare Avalon from the truth. Because one thing I heard from my parents was that Avalon never had to know."
"I imagine they love her too much to tell her the truth," the Doctor reasoned, and Lena shrugged. "A usual case within adoptive parents. They fear the biological parent or parents would try to take the child from them."
"But Avalon isn't a child anymore. And I think it's really more about my Dad," Lena sighed. "Because my Mum was reproaching him why he never revealed if Avalon was his daughter or not. Isn't that weird?"
"A bit," the Doctor admitted but didn't put that much thought to it. "But parents make the oddest decisions for their children, trust me."
Lena looked at him for a moment, getting that same strange feeling that he was saying this out of experience. "Big brother...did you have children at one point?"
The Doctor's eyebrows rose, and he took his hand from Lena's. "Um..."
Lena saw the struggle to come up with an answer and smiled. "You don't have to tell me. But just like you, I'm always here if you'd like to talk." She scooted closer and hugged him, thinking that both of them needed one at the moment.

To say Avalon was upset of the newest destination the Doctor had for them was way past an understatement. He knew, Lena knew, Amy knew, Rory knew that she detested the beach and yet somehow...they had all decided to go to a beach. A big ole Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro, the biggest and 'coolest' as stated by the Doctor. Avalon did not care how flashy nor how big this Carnival was, she was not stepping out of the box and that was that.
Did no one understand?
"We're here!" the Doctor cheered when the box had finally stopped.
Nope, guess no one.
"Off we go!" the Doctor rushed towards the doors, Amy and Rory right behind him.
Lena cast a glance back to her twin who sat glumly on the chairs beside the console. Lena sighed and walked towards Avalon, "You don't want to see Rio?" she questioned softly.
"Frankly, the only thing I want to see is my pillow," Avalon mumbled and jumped off the chair, her hand rubbing a circle on her temple. She could feel a a headache coming on from her lack of sleep.
"You do look a bit...pale," Lena observed her twin with concern, "Have you slept?"
"C'mon, Lena, you know me," Avalon flashed a small smile and turned for the corridors, "Sleep hates me."
"Maybe we can ask the Doctor to help you," Lena tried following but Avalon turned back in an instant, making Lena bump into her.
"No, don't you dare," Avalon pointed a warning finger at Lena, "I don't want any help from no bow-tie wearing alien. Plus, I'm crossed with him right now. He knows I dislike beaches and yet..."
"Yeah, Avalon?" Amy poked her head inside the TARDIS with a crossed face, "You can come out, it's not Rio."
"It's not?" Lena turned with a disappointed expression, "Aw!"
"Surprise, surprise, he got it wrong," Avalon flashed a small smile and strode towards the doors, "Good."
"But I wanted to see the beach!" Lena trailed after her.
Avalon stepped out to see a cemetery as the environment, "Never mind..." she mumbled. Cemetery or beach? Today was definitely not her day.
"Big brother, what happened here?" Lena crossed her arms while she gave her best mock-irritated frown, "I was promised sunshine and music!"
"May have been a bit of a mix up," the Doctor walked a bit ahead and came to an abrupt halt, "Ooh, feel that, though, what's that?" he bounced in place for a second, "Ground feels strange...just me?"
"Yes," Avalon compelled to make the clarification.
"That's weird," he had ignored her as he looked around.
"What's weird?" Rory asked.
"Doctor, stop trying to distract us. We're in the wrong place," Amy sighed as the Doctor ran around to the other side of a church.
"Yeah, it's freezing here," Lena shivered and hugged herself. She committed to Rio and chose a green buttoned rib-knit top with jean shorts. It was not appropriate for where they were right now. "I dressed for Rio..."
"Lena go get changed. I don't want you catching a cold." Avalon had no trouble with colder weather because she hadn't dressed for Rio. She said she wasn't stepping out of the TARDIS and had meant it. She wore a white, short-sleeved, high neck shirt tucked under high-waisted brown and white plaid pants.
"But-"
"Go," Avalon pointed. With a sigh, Lena returned inside the box.
The Doctor was plucking some grass and sifting it through his fingers, "Blue grass. Patches of it all round the graveyard. So, Earth, 2020-ish, ten years in your future, wrong continent for Rio, I'll admit, but it's not a massive overshoot."
Amy noticed three people on the other side of the valley waving at them. Amy squinted her eyes but they were too far away to see the trio clear. "Why are those people waving at us?"
"Can't be," the Doctor murmured, too engrossed with the grass to notice.
Rory started waving back at the trio but Avalon pushed his hand down and shook her head. "Don't wave until we know who they are."
The Doctor finally looked up and took out some binoculars from his jacket to get a better look at the trio. He almost laughed. "It's...hm, it's you two," he pointed at Amy and Rory, "...and...Lena."
"What? That can't be right," Avalon snatched the binoculars and took a look for herself. Sure enough, it was Amy, Rory and Lena waving at them.
"But we're here," Rory looked at each other, "How can we be up there?"
"Ten years in your future. Come to relive past glories, I'd imagine," the Doctor said.
"But where am I?" Avalon frowned and lowered the binoculars. She tried searching for herself anywhere nearby but she wasn't around. "How come I'm not there?"
"Maybe you got married and moved away," Amy teased but Avalon didn't seem to like the joke.
"Don't be ridiculous, I'd never leave Lena."
"Maybe she forced you to," the Doctor mumbled, thinking no one had heard him, until...
Avalon whacked him on the chest with his binoculars, "What did you just say?"
God help the man who married her alright. He rubbed his chest and tried to move the conversation along. "I said nothing. I was actually thinking about-"
"No, you said she'd force me to leave, why would Lena do that?" Avalon moved to stand right in front of him, eyes narrowing for him to start explaining.
"I don't know, I..." the Doctor sighed and took a look at the pair behind the angry ginger for help. He had such a incredible talent at pissing her off and nobody seemed to help him when it happened, save for Lena.
"I'd measure your words very carefully, Doctor," Avalon warned with a pointed finger at his chest.
"Avalon, don't overreact," Amy moved to the ginger's side and swayed her. Fortunately, it rocked Avalon into a nearlike sleep, her eyes even closing momentarily. All arguments had suddenly been forgotten!
"Yeah...sorry," Avalon mumbled and walked ahead, still half asleep.
"That woman is asleep!" Amy exclaimed.
"I've never seen her like that before," Rory mumbled as he moved up as well.
"That's the only side I've seen," the Doctor remarked but still agreed the ginger had not looked so good, even for her natural feisty self. She was in one of her days-without-sleep spree and it would be a bad one.
"I should talk to her, see what's going on," Rory resolved, "She'll tell me and then we can fix it."
"Fix what?" Lena emerged from the TARDIS, now changed into warmer clothes as requested, ordered, by Avalon. Her jean shorts were exchanged for a regular pair and she'd thrown on a thick green sweater.
"Your sister nearly chewed my head off," the Doctor declared and made her laugh. So much for having Lena's help!
"You certainly have a way of pushing my sister's buttons, don't you?" she stepped off the TARDIS onto the mushy grass.
"It's not my fault she doesn't sleep," the Doctor shrugged, "And I'd really not get into that whole mess so how about we go check that big mining thing, eh?" he pointed behind him to the building.
Two different reactions surfaced in the trio: Lena, as expected, simply nodded, while Amy and Rory wore irritated frowns and shook their heads.
"We want the beach," the engaged couple declared.
"But it's a big mining thing," the Doctor insisted, "Way better than Rio! Rio doesn't have a big mining thing!"
"We're not going to have a look," Amy warned.
"Let's go and have a look!" the Doctor took Lena's hand and walked down into the valley.
Rory sighed, "If he can't get us to Rio, how's he ever going to get us back home?"
"Did you not see, over there?" Amy nodded up to the hill where their future selves remained, "It all works out fine."
"After everything we've seen, we just drop back into our old lives, the nurse and the kissogram?"
"I guess. He's getting away," Amy took Rory by the arm and started off when suddenly Rory halted them.
"Hang on. What are you doing with that?" he pointed to her ring finger.
"Engagement ring! I thought you liked me wearing it," Amy raised an eyebrow, not so sure anymore with the face Rory was making.
"Amy! You could lose it! Cost...a lot of money, that!"
"Hm," Amy removed the ring and handed it over, "Spoilsport."
"C'mon, let's go put it away...to safety," Rory eyed her, taking the groaning ginger back into the TARDIS.
After setting the ring back in its box and placed promptly on the console, the two headed back for the doors.
"If we get lost it's your fault," Amy warned as they stepped out.
"We won't get..." Rory stopped once he saw a woman and a little boy standing in front of him and Amy, as if waiting.
"Well, that was quick!" the woman, a brunette, remarked.
"...was it?" Amy replied in an answer as she nervously glanced at Rory.
"It's great that you came."
"Bit retro," the young boy was staring at the TARDIS, "What is it, portable crime lab?"
"Oh, er..." Rory looked back at the box, "...sort of."
"Ambrose Northover," the woman introduced herself as she shook Rory's hand, Amy next, "I was the one who called. I run the meals on wheels for the whole valley. This is my son, Elliot," she gestured to the boy.
"Where's your uniforms?" he questioned the pair.
"Don't be cheeky, Elliot, they're plain clothes," Ambrose scolded, "CID, is it? Anyway, it's over here."
As the mother and son departed, Rory and Amy exchanged uneasy glances...what was going on?

"Avalon? Avalon! What are you doing?" Lena gasped and ran forwards.
Avalon was already at the drill site in front of the gated entrance...which she was currently climbing up on. "What does it look like I'm doing?" Avalon grunted and swung one leg over before looking down at them.
"What? Get down from there!" Lena ordered in her best authoritative tone. But when she saw Avalon swinging her other leg she gave up on that and turned to the Doctor, "Do something!"
"Um...it's restricted access..." he looked around, "No unauthorized personnel. Mm..." he gave the ginger a smirk.
"Hm," Avalon smirked and hopped off, now on the other side of the doors. She curled her hands around the gate's bars and grinned, no longer looking like the sleepless night were an issue. "Come along!"
The Doctor pouted at her words. "Those are my words! I say that!"
Avalon smirked again. She pressed her face against the bars, almost reminding Lena of a few times Avalon had been sent to the local precinct, only this time Avalon seemed content. "You gonna stay there or what, Fairy Tale Man?"
"You watch me," he whipped out his sonic and let it tap Avalon's nose between the gates.
"Big brother!" Lena whacked his arm while he sonicked the gates. "You're not supposed to encourage her!"
"Why are the Reynolds hitting me today!?"
Avalon laughed and stepped backwards for when he opened the gates.
Lena groaned at his lack of attention. "That's breaking and entering!"
"What did I break, little sister?" he gestured to the unbroken locks, "I...sonicked and entered, totally different."
"You and Avalon are going to go to jail!"
"Ah, been there done that," the Doctor said as they stepped through the entrance. "We'll keep each other company."
Avalon's eyes widened at him. "You!? What!?" She promptly burst into laughter, once again making him pout.
"You might not believe me-"
"You're right, I don't!"
"Right, okay, so if you're not extra cranky you just make even more fun of me!" the Doctor shook his head at her and linked arms with Lena. "Let's go baby sister!"

Ambrose and Elliot had brought Amy and Rory to the graveyard where a plot laid with no tomb inside. Ambrose stepped beside it and peered down, "It's a family plot, see. My aunt Gladys died six years ago. Her husband, Alun, died a few weeks back. He lived in the house two doors down. There's not many of us left up here now."
"Mum, they don't care about that! They want to know about the dead bodies," Elliot reminded.
"Yes, sorry," Ambrose nodded in agreement, "Well, they always wanted to be buried in the same plot, together. But when we went to bury Uncle Alun, Gladys wasn't there. Gone. Body, coffin, everything."
"What?" Rory blinked, glancing at Amy who was just as confused as he was.
"The mad thing is, on the surface, the grave was untouched. No signs of it having been messed with."
"But..." Amy began but shook her head, "...nope, sorry, not getting it."
"Nobody has touched the grave since my aunt was buried," Ambrose reiterated, "But when they dug it open, the body was gone. How is that possible?"

"What about now, can you feel it now?" the Doctor asked the twins as they strolled through halls inside the drill station.
"It's the ground," Avalon sighed, "It just feels like...ground."
"But it doesn't feel like it should," he explained, unaware of the roll of eyes she'd given him behind his back.
"It's ten years in the future, maybe this is how the ground feels like now," Lena offered.
"Good thought! But no. It doesn't," he shook his head. They stopped at the sound of a whirring not too far up ahead. The Doctor listened carefully. "Hear that, drill in start-up mode. Afterwaves of a recent seismological shift and blue grass." He still held a few pieces of the blue grass he picked up from outside and placed it in his mouth.
Avalon made a distasteful face when she saw that, Lena simply giggling when he made a face and had to pulled the grass off his tongue.
"You are disgusting," Avalon declared, almost gagging. "Have you always had that...erratic quality?"
"No..." he genuinely considered, "That's recent."
"Ugh, don't ever kiss my twin nor me," Avalon shivered and moved on ahead.
"I gotta agree there," Lena made him shake off the grass still in his hand, "Repeat after me: blue grass is not food."
"Blue grass is not food," the Doctor muttered.
"Hey, maybe I can be a teacher," she clapped, "If I can make a 907 year old alien pay attention, I'm sure I can make 5 year olds do it!"
"That's what you want to be, then?" the Doctor took her by the arm and led her after Avalon, "A school teacher?"
"Mm, I always liked the idea," she shrugged. She never truly put much thought into what type of career she'd want because of her illness. Her father (and Avalon) wanted Lena to take it easy for a few years before she decided going to a college away from Leadworth.
"My baby sister as a teacher, I can see that. And what about Avalon? What super-twin team are you making?"
Lena faintly smiled, "I...don't know. I don't actually know what she wants to be."
"Oh c'mon, isn't that one of the primary teachings you humans always do with your children?" the Doctor raised an eyebrow, "Always asking your kids what do they want to be when they grow up?"
Lena just shrugged, her smile completely gone, "I don't know. Avalon doesn't say much, she doesn't say anything, actually..."
"Not even to Rory?"
Lena shook her head, "Rory's more of the comforting friend. But she doesn't really say much about herself. Still, I'd rather Rory be able to help her out than for her to have absolutely no one. I mean, she comes to me, we have good talks, sometimes...I can get her to talk about what she wants, but those are rare times."
"I'm sorry," the Doctor genuinely said to her, "I promise after this I will get us all to a nice place, no beach, something calm and I'll make sure you get some sister time with Avalon. How does that sound?"
"That sounds really nice, thank you," she softly smiled.
The two finally entered the room where they heard the sound from. They'd arrived just in time to see Avalon being questioned by a woman with short, black hair. The woman seemed to be getting upset that Avalon wasn't answering any of her questions.
"Time to go in and save your sis...again," the Doctor mumbled to Lena as he took out his psychic paper, the brunette chuckling as he moved ahead, "Hello, see you've met my friend here," he flashed the psychic paper to the woman, "Ministry of Drills, Earth and Science! New Ministry, quite big, just merged, lot of responsibility on our shoulders, don't like to talk about it. What're you doing?"
"None of your business," the woman looked at the trio with suspicion, even more towards the Doctor when he started moving around the monitors.
"Where are you getting these readings from?" he asked.
"Under the soil," the woman replied as she moved towards a hole in the ground with certain equipment around it.
Another man entered the room in a quick stride. "The drill's up and running again-" He came to a pause when he saw the newest intruders in the room. "What's going on? Who are these people?"
"Hi!" Lena waved, deciding to go ahead and give introductions seeing how the Doctor was at work and Avalon was...well..half-asleep again. "That's the Doctor and that's my sister, Avalon."
"Why's there a big patch of earth in the middle of your floor?" the Doctor looked up, curiously.
"We don't know, it just appeared overnight," the woman answered.
Lena walked closer to the hole and peered down, confused as she only saw soil. The Doctor stood up rather fast and looked at all of them, "Good, right, you all need to get out of here very fast," he rushed to the monitors.
"Why?" the woman raised an eyebrow.
"What's your name?"
"Nasreen Chaudhry."
"Look at the screens, Nasreen, your readings. It's moving," he pointed at the monitor.
"Lena, get away from there," Avalon instructed, currently rubbing her temple again. She felt a head-ache coming soon to her.
The man that'd walked in had moved to the Doctor and Nasreen, irritated to see the stranger touching all their equipment, "Hey, that's specialized equipment! Get away from it."
"What is?" Nasreen asked the Doctor, concerned of the man's words.
"Why is there steam?" Lena frowned as said steam rose from the hole, "Avalon, come and look," she motioned for the ginger to move over.
"Lena, move away," Avalon made her twin stand up, "Doctor?" she called, "There's steam coming out of this thing. I'm gonna go on a wild guess and say it's not good."
"Very correct," he looked over his shoulder and saw the steam, "It's shifting when it shouldn't be shifting."
"What shouldn't?" Nasreen asked, a bit irritated that none of her questions were being answered.
The ground started shaking as if an earthquake was striking, prompting the Doctor to quickly move his hands over the monitors, "The ground, the soil, the earth, moving, but how? Why?"
"Is this an earthquake?" Lena stumbled back.
"What's going on?" the man demanded.
"Doubt it, baby sister," the Doctor looked around, "Cos it's only happening under this room," he said just as more holes formed on the ground as it subsided underneath, "It knows we're here. The ground's attacking us."
"No, that's not possible!" Nasreen exclaimed.
"Under the circumstances, I suggest... RUN!" the Doctor grabbed Nasreen and headed for the doors.
As Tony quickly followed, the twins made move only to have Lena get trapped.
"No!" Avalon turned, gasping at her fallen twin.
"Stay back, Avalon! Stay away from the earth!" the Doctor, quickly looking for a way around the opening holes.
"No, Avalon, go away," Lena tried waving Avalon to leave, "Don't-"
Avalon leaped over a hole and pushed everything she could to help Lena, "Don't be stupid, Lena. Like I'd ever leave you, hm?"
"Don't...just go," Lena pleaded, whimpered.
"Look, I got - AH!" Avalon found her feet being sucked by the ground underneath, "What the hell!?" she looked down with wide eyes, "Ah! It's pulling me down!" she gave a cry as she went further down.
"No! N-n-n-no!" Lena cried from her spot, feeling so incredibly useless being stuck, "Someone get me out of here so I can help!"
Luckily enough, the Doctor had found a way around the holes and ran towards them, "It's okay! It's okay!" he grabbed onto Avalon's hands while Nasreen and Tony ran to help the other twin in distress.
"Something's got my feet!" Avalon yelped as she sunk to her waist.
The Doctor fell to his stomach with the great pull the ginger had endured, but he never let go, "It's okay, we're going to get you out of here, you'll see."
Avalon had stopped her shouts and looked around with shiny eyes, "Doctor, what is it, why is it doing this?"
"Stay calm, keep hold of my hand, don't let go," he looked over to the others, "Your drill, shut it down! Go! Now!"
Lena was finally pulled away from the hole she was in and so Nasreen and Tony rushed off. Lena tried moving to help the Doctor when Avalon gave a shout.
"Stay where you are! Don't move!"
"But Avalon, I can help-"
"STAY BACK!"
Lena froze in her spot once her sister screamed with full force. It even stopped the Doctor for a moment. "But..." Lena couldn't even open her mouth when Avalon shouted again.
"Just stay where you are! I didn't save you so you can put yourself in danger again! Whatever needs to happen, you let it happen!"
"Don't say that, Avalon!" the Doctor was the one to snap next. "Nothing is going to happen to you! We're gonna get you out! But you gotta stay calm. If you struggle, it'll make things worse. Keep hold of my hand. I'm not going to let you go."
"Ah!" Avalon's arms slipped from his grip as she sunk even lower, "I-i-it's pulling me!" she cried.
"Stay calm. Hold on," he gripped her one wrist with both his hands, "If they can just shut down the drill..."
"I can't hold on!" Avalon sunk down to her neck and arms, "Doctor, you gotta tell me what's down here..." she swallowed, her eyes becoming shinier as more water filled them, "What is under the earth? I don't want to suffocate under there! I'd rather drown!" And considering her hatred of beaches, that meant a lot.
"Avalon, just follow orders please. Concentrate!" the Doctor did his best to keep her spirits up despite the situation. He could feel her hands slipping from his grip so he squeezed as much as he could. He'd apologize for breaking her bones when she was safe in the TARDIS. "That's all. Concentrate. Don't you give up! That's not the Avalon I know!"
"Please don't let them take me..." Avalon whimpered as she went down again, her chin beginning to go under as well. Once she tasted dirt in her mouth, she realized this was happening. She would be going under no matter what. "Fairy Tale Man...look after Lena."
The Doctor's eyes widened. He recognized the resignation but before he could tell her things would be okay, her hand slipped out of his and she sunk into the ground.
"AVALON!" Lena cried and rushed forwards, forgetting all about the holes still threatening them.
"No! No!" the Doctor shouted at the ground, unable to believe he'd actually let that happen. "Avalon! Avalon!" he frantically dug through the whole, hoping nothing more than to see her fiery ginger curls. Suddenly, he wanted to hear her snaps and jabs! He wanted to take her night adventures and play cards when she couldn't sleep! The idea of never being able to do that struck chord that he hadn't felt a in a very long time. "No! No! No! No. No! No. NO!"
"Where did my sister go!? Where is she!?" Lena watched the Doctor use his sonic over the spot Avalon had been in but he got nothing from it.
Nasreen and Tony ran back inside the room thinking everything was good until they saw one angry man and one crying woman. It took them a few seconds to realize that Avalon was missing.
"Where's your other friend?" Nasreen asked.
"She's gone. The ground took her," the Doctor answered quietly, his eyes glued to the hole.
"And it's my fault...again," Lena dropped to her knees in front of the hole. "Always has to save me and then she gets in trouble!" she ran her hands through her hair, completely frantic, "Always, always, always me!"
"Is that what happened to Mo? Are they dead?" Tony questioned, the Doctor shooting the man a death glare as he was not helping the case.
The Doctor bent down and helped a frantic Lena to her feet, "Baby sister, baby sister, breathe," he gave the order, "I need you to be calm and to breathe!" he articulated the last word as he searched inside his jacket and pulled out her inhaler, "Breathe!"
Lena took the inhaler and took her breaths as requested, slowly calming down with each take, "Doctor, you have to save her, please," she sniffled, "I'll help you, but...she needs to be here and she needs to be alive!"
"Exactly what we're going to do," he assured her and took a breath himself before he started to think, "So...it's not quicksand, clearly. She didn't just sink..."
"She said something was pulling her," Lena reminded, wiping away some tears off her face, "If she was being pulled then it meant what ever was down there wanted her."
"The ground wanted her?" Nasreen raised a doubtful eyebrow.
"You said the ground was dormant, just a patch of earth, when you first saw it this morning," the Doctor looked at her nod, "And the drill had been stopped."
"That's right," Tony said.
"But when you re-started the drill, the ground fought back."
"So what, the ground wants to stop us drilling?! Doctor, that is ridiculous," Nasreen shook her head.
"Don't you dare call this ridiculous if it just swallowed my sister!" Lena snapped, surprising the Doctor as he sonicked the hole. Lena never snapped. But she looked so frustrated, so angry and so...sad. She was right in that somehow Avalon seemed to have a habit of getting hurt.
The Doctor felt a twinge of guilt as he recalled Avalon taking a death shot for him as well. Once again, she'd taken a bullet for someone and ended up hurt.
His thoughts were interrupted when the ground started vibrating, "Oh! Oh of course! It's bio-programming!"
"What?" Tony frowned.
"Bio-programming," the Doctor clapped, "You use bio-signals to resonate the internal molecular structure of natural objects! It's mainly used in engineering and construction, mostly jungle planets, but that's way in the future, and not here. What's it doing here?"
"Sorry, did you just say jungle planets?" Nasreen raised an eyebrow.
"You're not making any sense, man!" Tony added.
The Doctor took a moment to throw the man an indignant look. There was no time to waste and here this man was doing exactly that! "'Scuse me, I'm making perfect sense, you're just not keeping up! The earth, the ground beneath our feet, was bio-programmed to attack."
"Yeah, even if that were possible, which, by the way, it's not, why?" Nasreen asked.
"Stop you drilling! We find what's doing the bio-programming, find Avalon, get her back!" he suddenly spun around as if he had twenty people talking to him at the same time. "Ssh ssh ssh! Have I gone mad?! I've gone mad!"
"No time for personal questions, big brother," Lena sighed, "Can we find Avalon now?"
"Ssh ssh! Silence! Absolute silence!" the Doctor held a finger to them and shushed, "You stopped the drill, right?"
"Yes," Nasreen nodded.''
"And you've only got the one drill?"
"Yes!"
"You're sure about that?"
"Yes!"
But the Doctor dropped to the ground on his stomach and pressed an ear to the gun beside the hole where sure enough he heard that faint whirring sound again.
"Doctor, what is it?" Lena stepped forwards, for a second thinking he could hear Avalon still shouting. She shook her head and snapped out of those thoughts.
"So, if you shut the drill down... why can I still hear drilling?" the Doctor looked to Nasreen and Tony, "It's under the ground."
"That's not possible," Tony shot the idea down.
The Doctor ignored the man as he jumped back to his feet and ran towards the machinery with his screwdriver.
"Oh, no, what, what are you doing?" Nasreen quickly followed when she heard the screwdriver making its usual noises.
"Hacking into your records. Reports, samples, sensors, good, just unite the data, make it all one big conversation, let's have a look. So. We are here and this is your drill hole. 21.009 kilometres. Well done!"
"Thank you. It's taken us a long time," Nasreen faintly smiled with pride.
"Why here, though? Why drill on this site?"
"We found patches of grass in this area, containing trace minerals unseen in this country for 20 million years."
"The blue grass? Oh, Nasreen, those trace minerals weren't X marking the spot, saying dig here," the Doctor gave a small chuckle, "They were a warning. Stay away. Cos while you've been drilling down... somebody else has been drilling up," he pulled up a screen with a vertical network of the tunnels underneath the ground, "Oh, beautiful. Network of tunnels all the way down."
"No, no, we've surveyed that area," Tony said.
"Clearly you only saw what you went looking for," Lena shot him an irritated look. If they had paid more attention maybe her sister would still be around.
Nasreen noticed three little green dots that were moving up via the tunnels registered, "What are they?"
"Heat signals," the Doctor started looking into it, "Wait, dual readings, hot and cold, doesn't make sense. And now they're moving. Fast. How many people live nearby?"
"Just my daughter and her family. The rest of the staff travel in," Tony answered.
"Grab this equipment and follow me," the Doctor instructed and headed for the door with Lena.
"Why? What're we doing?!" Nasreen called.
The Doctor stopped ans turned around, "That noise isn't a drill. It's transport. Three of them, 30km down, rate of speed looks about 150km an hour. Should be here in...ooh, quite soon, 12 minutes," he picked up one of the computers, "Whatever bio-programmed the Earth is on its way up, now!"
~ 0 ~
The group were carrying computers and a wheelbarrow with more equipment as they trundled of the building.
"How can something be coming up when there's only the Earth's crust down there?" Tony insistingly asked.
"You saw the readings!" the Doctor exclaimed.
"But whoever is down there...they've got Avalon, right?" Lena hoped, "They took her..."
"Hopefully, and then we can have a nice little chat about that..." the Doctor mumbled, not so sure that a chat was what the creatures were coming for.
"Who are you, anyway?!" Nasreen cut in, "How can you know all this?"
They all stopped when a red light struck across the sky.
Lena gasped, "What was that?"
"No, no, no!" the Doctor took out across slingshot from his pocket and picked up a rock.
He shot the rock to the sky where a force field appeared at the contact in the form of a red light. He used the sonic and made visible the dome-shaped field around the village and drill site.
"Energy signal originating from under the Earth. We're trapped," the Doctor explained.
Rory and Amy joined the group with Ambrose and Elliot behind them.
"Doctor! Something weird's going on here, the graves are eating people," Rory really had no other way of putting it.
"And what was that in the sky?" Amy pointed above, "Red lights and stuff appeared."
"Energy barricade. Invisible to the naked eye," the Doctor waved them off, "We can't get out and no-one from the outside world can get in."
"What if we use the TARDIS?" Lena suggested.
"The what?!" Nasreen looked at the girl like she was crazy.
"No, those energy patterns would play havoc with the circuits. With a bit of time, maybe, but we've only got nine and a half minutes."
"Nine and a half minutes to what?" Amy raised an eyebrow.
"We're trapped. And something's burrowing towards the surface," Nasreen answered with and huff.
"Oh..." Amy nodded but blinked when she realized what had just been said, "No, wait, hold on, what!?"
"Wait, where's Ava?" Rory looked around, realizing they were missing some remarks from her.
"Get everyone inside the church!" the Doctor ordered the others as he picked up the computer he'd been taking out.
"Lena?" Amy asked, knowing the brunette would answer much easier than the Doctor.
"She was taken," Lena whispered guiltily. "Because of me."
"What d'you mean 'taken'? Where's she gone?" Rory demanded as he looked at the Doctor. A growing anger was taking over his expression and a well deserved one too if the Doctor was being honest.
"She was taken. Into the Earth," the Doctor sighed.
"Into the Earth!?" both Amy and Rory exclaimed.
"She saved me, as usual, and she got swallowed down into the Earth," Lena sniffled, "It's my fault."
As Amy moved to comfort the lonely twin, Rory raged at the Doctor, "You need to get Ava back!"
"I will, I'll find her," the Doctor assured, glancing at Lena, "I'll find Avalon. I'll keep you all safe. I promise. Come on, please. I need you alongside me."
Lena nodded and together they all headed towards the church.

The group was buy setting up the brought equipment inside the chaotic mess the church's room was in.
Ambrose was closest to the door, overlooking everything that was happening with a frustrated face. She'd been told that her husband, Mo, had apparently
been sucked down into the Earth along with another girl. The whole thing was just mad!
"So we can't get out, we can't contact anyone. And something, the something that took my husband, is coming up through the Earth," she recited what she'd been told and it still didn't sound very convincing
"Yes. If we move quickly enough, we can be ready," the Doctor said
"No, stop. This has gone far enough. What is this?"
"He's telling the truth, love," Tony, her father, looked up from the equipment he was setting up.
"Come on! It's not the first time we've had no mobile or phone signals. Reception's always rubbish."
"Listen lady!" Lena nearly shouted, shocking her friends her voice could actually reach a level like that, "You can sit there and not believe a thing or you can come and help! Your husband my sister are down there and I will not have you waste our time with your unbelieving rants!"
Ambrose stood still with blinking eyes, unsure of what to do or say next. The brunette looked awfully pale and frantic, something Ambrose didn't want to push even farther.
"Lena," Amy gently came forwards to her friend, "You need to calm down," she set an arm around Lena's shoulder, "It's not good for your health."
Nasreen looked between the frantic brunette and the stunned Ambrose. She stayed looking at Amberose and sighed, "Look, Ambrose, we saw the girl's sister get taken, okay? You saw the lightning in the sky. I have seen the impossible today, and the only person who's made any sense of it, for me, is the Doctor."
"Him?!" Ambrose cast a worried look to the Doctor.
"Me," he nodded.
"Can you get my dad back?" Elliot suddenly asked, making the room go silent as everyone looked at the Doctor for his answer
"Yes," he answered and walked towards Ambrose, "But I need you to trust me and do exactly as I say from this second onwards because we're running out of time."
"So tell us what to do," Ambrose breathed, resigned.
"Thank you. We have eight minutes to set up a line of defence. Bring me every phone, camera, every piece of recording or transmitting equipment you can find," he ordered, "Every burglar alarm, every movement sensor, every security light. I want the whole area covered with sensors."
The group nodded and rushed to do the task. The Doctor returned to Lena and Amy and signaled Amy to go ahead and follow Rory out. Once the ginger had left, he set his hands on Lena's shoulders and the brunette promptly looked up with tears in her eyes.
"It's my fault," she sniffled.
"No, it's not. Stop saying that, please," he hugged her.
"It's always my fault, big brother. I always get into trouble and need saving from Avalon. I don't deserve that."
"You're saying you don't deserve your twin sister's love?" the Doctor gave a short chuckle.
She parted to look up at him. "You know I don't."
"Doctor?" Ambrose poked her head back inside the room, "We need help outside," she pointed then rushed out again.

Ambrose and Rory finished hooking up cameras in ideal positions where the Doctor sonicked them as the last touch.
Once back in the room, the Doctor monitored the oncoming green dots, "Right, we need to be ready for whatever's coming up," he looked to Elliot beside him, "I need a map of the village, marking where the cameras are going."
"I can't do the words. I'm dyslexic," the boy shrugged.
"Oh, that's all right, I can't make a decent meringue," the Doctor turned to him and smiled, "Draw like your life depends on it, Elliot," the boy nodded and ran off. A moment later the Doctor checked his watch and read the time, "6 minutes 40."

Lena watched the Doctor going through Ambrose's van, still confused why he needed this particular car. She went around to the back and opened the doors, "Refrigerators!" she called.
"Oi! What're you doing!?" Ambrose hollered as she walked by, her arms full of garden tools, or...weapons.
"Resources! Every little helps!" the Doctor poked his head around the van, Lena closing the doors.
"I still don't understand what this vehicle can provide for us," she sighed.
"Well, it's a bit chilly for a hideout, mind," Ambrose had joined them and set the tools in the front seat.
"What are those?" Lena eyed what Ambrose had set down.
"Like the Doctor said, every little helps."
The Doctor gave the woman a suspicious look and checked the pile, "No! No weapons," he shook his head and stepped back, "It's not the way I do things."
"You said we're supposed to defend ourselves."
"Oh, Ambrose, you're better than this. I'm asking nicely. Put them away," the Doctor linked his arm with Lena and walked off.
"She was just trying to help," Lena offered as a valid reason, "Her husband's gone missing."
"Your sister's gone missing," he pointed out, "I don't see you carrying a weapon," he stopped and eyed her outfit, "You're not...you're not-"
Lena laughed, the first real laugh she'd given since Avalon had been taken, "No, silly."
"Sorry," he gave a small chuckle, "But I mean you have lived with a feisty ginger who hides weapons in her shoes."
"But she never let me near them," Lena shook her head and started walking again, the Doctor going at her pace beside her, "And you know, the only reason she knows how to use them is because she wanted to know how...protect me. It's not because she likes them. I mean, she kind of does but not for bad reasons."
The Doctor knew Lena was trying to sway his opinions on her twin with weaponry. Lena understood completely his opposition to them and knew that it was a big disagreement between him and Avalon. She just didn't want him to think that Avalon was a bad person for handling weapons. Avalon only used them because of, well...her...again.
"Everything Avalon is, is because of me," Lena continued, sighing, "She's stolen because of me, gone to jail because of me, learned weaponry because of me. But she's not a bad person, big brother. Honest. She's really sweet and caring, you two will be fine."
And the Doctor had to make another stop there, "Why are you saying that?"
Lena slowly turned with fiddling hands, "Because I'm going home after this."
"What?"
"I don't want to travel anymore," she continued walking again. She couldn't look him in the eyes just yet.
"But...b-b-but...what!?" the Doctor shook his head and quickly caught up with the brunette, "Lena, Lena, what are you saying?"
Lena gazed ahead so she could say what she needed to. "Let's be honest, big brother, I stink at traveling. I get scared of everything, I can't run very fast, and I'm not smart. This is not me."
"Lena, you're just saying that because of the circumstances. You'll see that once you have Avalon back-"
"No, Doctor," she turned to him with watery eyes, "I don't want to do this anymore. I keep getting my sister into trouble. She's supposed to be traveling and having fun and actually making a life of her own. But with me here she's just doing what she'd do at home, only here she can actually die," she swallowed hard, "I don't want to be the reason my sister loses her life."
"And you think that Avalon would just stay here when you go home?" the Doctor raised an eyebrow, challenging her thoughts, "The only reason she's here is because of you. If you leave then she'll leave."
"No, that won't happen. I'll make her see that she has a right to make her own life. She needs to go out and meet new people, talk about herself and not focus on me."
"But Lena-"
"Big brother, I've thought about this before. I've known that I can't handle this kind of life and...I think I've finally had my fill. It's okay," Lena touched his arm, giving him a soft smile. "You've shown me more things than I could've imagined. I'm okay to go now."
"Doesn't mean I have to like it," the Doctor said almost with the tone of a child. He felt like he only just started traveling with her. She'd truly grown to become his 'baby sister' and he didn't want to have her leave him.
"Just because I won't be in the TARDIS doesn't mean you stop being my big brother," Lena said as if she'd read his mind. "In fact, I fully expect you to pick me up for a trip here and there."
"I guess so," the Doctor sighed. He couldn't be upset with her, especially his baby sister. It wasn't the first time a companion of his decided that the TARDIS life wasn't for them. "So how exactly are you going to tell Avalon this? Because once she hears you're leaving, she'll go too." And maybe he didn't quite want that either...
Lena smiled innocently, making it clear she'd already thought ahead. "I have a way for her to stay. And you're gonna help me."
"What? How and why?" the Doctor was genuinely fearful of what this idea would involve.
"You're going to drop me off home in secret and for no matter what, you are not to bring Avalon home. And why? Simple, because I'm your baby sister and I am asking you to help me."
The Doctor made a face and bowed his head, "I hate that line. I really hate that line."
"Please, Doctor? Please help me?" Lena took his hands and continued to plead, "Without me Avalon can finally live her life and explore the world with no worries about some sick ole twin and have some fun because she really deserves to have fun and even maybe meet someone who'll make really happy and-"
"Alright!" the Doctor gave up and sighed, stumbling back with the great hug Lena attacked him with, "But fair warning, if you never hear from me again it'll be because your sister killed me and buried me in some planet."
"That's...oddly accurate based off her personality," Lena admitted and shrugged, "But I'm sure she won't...ish," she quickly scurried off.
The Doctor took a breath and continued on his way, actually praying to every deity he knew that the ginger wouldn't react so...murderously when she'd find her twin had departed without her knowledge.

Back in the church, Elliot ran inside with his finished map paper in his hands, "I did it!" he exclaimed and handed it to the Doctor who was checking one of the computer screens.
"Look at that!" the Doctor saw the map, "Perfect! Dyslexia never stopped Da Vinci or Einstein, it's not stopping you."
"I don't understand what you're going to do," Elliot admitted with confusion.
"Two-phase plan. First, the sensors and cameras will tell us when something arrives. Second, if something does arrive, I use this to send a sonic pulse through that network of devices, a pulse which would temporarily incapacitate most things in the universe. "
"Knock 'em out. Cool," Elliot nodded.
"Lovely place to grow up, round here."
"Suppose. I want to live in a city one day. Soon as I'm old enough, I'll be off."
"I was the same, where I grew up," the Doctor related as he went back to a a monitor.
"Did you get away?"
"Yeah."
"Do you ever miss it?"
"So much..." the Doctor answered a bit late on it, could he be blamed though?
"Is it monsters coming?" Elliot peered at the screens, "Have you met monsters before?"
"Yeah."
"You scared of them?"
"No! They're scared of me," the Doctor smirked.
"Will you really get my dad back?"
"No question."
"I left my headphones at home," Elliot remembered and ran out.

After setting the last of the cameras, the group returned to the church but had trouble getting inside as the wooden door would not budge open.
"I can't open it! It keeps sticking!" Ambrose exclaimed as she continuously pushed, "The wood's warped."
The Doctor had gone to help Ambrose, Lena quickly hurrying to help, "Oi you two!" the Doctor looked back at Amy and Rory, "Any time you want to help!"
"What? Can't you sonic it?" Amy raised an eyebrow, heading over nonetheless to help.
"It doesn't do wood!"
Rory snorted, "That is rubbish!"
The Doctor stopped pushing to turn around, showing his offended face, "Oi! Don't diss the sonic!"
"Oi!" Lena grabbed him by the arm, "Get back to helping!"
Once inside, the ground had started shaking with the nearing creatures. The Doctor ran to the computers, dodging the falling objects from above, "See if we can get a fix!" he tried working on them but after a couple second it sparked and shut off with the power gone.
"No power," Tony remarked.
"It's deliberate," the Doctor mumbled.
"What do we do now?" Lena asked, already afraid as the shaking wouldn't cease.
Tony turned on a bright torch that gave some light in the room. The Doctor looked away from the screens with a face, "Nothing. We've got nothing! They sent an energy surge to wreck our systems."
Once the shaking stopped, everyone gathered together and took a look around.
"Is everyone OK? Is anyone hurt?" Rory questioned them.
"I'm fine," Nasreen sighed.
"Lena?" Rory turned to her, knowing out of everyone she'd be the easiest to hurt.
"Fine too," she crossed her arms.
"Anyone?"
"I'm good," Tony said.
"Me too," Ambrose nodded.
A loud rumbling emerged from the outside, making everyone freeze in their spots.
"Doctor, what was that?" Amy whispered.
"It's like the holes at the drill station," Tony remembered.
"Is this how they happened?" Nasreen asked the Doctor.
He knelt down and bent over to listen to the ground, "It's coming through the final layer of Earth."
"What is!?" Nasreen cried.
The Doctor stood quickly just as silence overtook the area.
"The banging's stopped," Lena mumbled, her eyes darting from one place to another.
Ambrose had started looking around and realized something very important, "Where's Elliot? Has anyone seen Elliot? Did he come in? Was he in when the door was shut? Who counted him back in? Who saw him last?"
Everyone looked around for the missing boy, no one seeing the Doctor stiffen, "...I did," he answered eventually.
"Where is he?" Ambrose turned to him.
"He said he was going to get headphones."
"And you let him go? He was out there on his own?"
Suddenly, they heard pounding on the other side of the door, followed by Elliot's pleading voice, "Mum! Grandpa Tony! Let me in!"
"Elliot!" Ambrose ran to the door, "He's out there! Help me!" she looked at the others.
"Open the door! Mum! There's something out here!"
Everyone hurried to the door and worked on opening it, the wood once again stuck.
"Push, Elliot, push, Elliot!" Ambrose called.
"Mum!"
"Hurry up!" Ambrose ordered the others.
"Mummy..."
"Come on!" Tony exclaimed and finally opened the door, Ambrose being the first to run out.
"Elliot!" she called but saw no one around anymore, "Where is he? He was here. He was here! Elliot!" she ran towards the graveyard.
"Ambrose, don't go running off!" the Doctor called after her, Tony going to follow her out.

By the time the rest of the group had caught up to Ambrose and Tony, a lot had happened. Ambrose had found her son's headphones and was attacked by a creature with apparently green scaly skin. Tony, in trying to protect his daughter, had gotten lashed with a...tongue? on his neck.
"My dad's hurt!" Ambrose was at her father's side, trying to help him up.
"Get him into the church now!" the Doctor ordered the others.
"Elliot's gone," Ambrose whimpered, "They've killed him, haven't they?"
"No, they can't have!" Lena shook her head frantically, "Don't say that!"
"N-n-n-n-no!" the Doctor tried calming both women down, "Listen to me, both of you, all of you," he eyed the remaining three silent humans, "Now, they've taken three people, when they could've just killed them up here. There's still hope, Lena, Ambrose. There is always hope."
"Then why've they taken him?" Ambrose sniffled.
"And my sister," Lena looked down, her eyes getting ready to release fresh new tears.
"We'll find Avalon and Elliot," the Doctor assured both, "I promise. But first I've gotta stop this attack. Please, get inside the church."
"Come on, Dad," Ambrose helped Tony up with the help of Amy.
"Lena, you go with Amy," the Doctor instructed.
She nodded and helped the women get Tony back.
"So, what now? Rory raised an eyebrow, still in the dark about the exact plan going through the alien's head.

The Doctor walked through the street wearing sunglasses that picked up heat signatures all around him. He noticed something move in the bushes that hadn't given off heat, "Cold blood," he smirked and started to sing-song, "I know what they are..." he moved towards the meals on wheels van where he took a fire extinguisher from the front seat and shut the door, all the meanwhile casually whistling.
Through the van's mirror he saw a creature heading towards him. He spun out of the way when it attacked and used the extinguisher on it. Once the creature screamed, Rory jumped out of the van's backdoor and together pushed the creature in the refrigerated back and locked the door.
"We got it!" Rory exclaimed.
"Defending the planet with meals on wheels!" the Doctor laughed and raised hands to do a high-five when a rumbling cut them off.
"What was that?" Rory looked around.
"Sounds like they're leaving..."
"Without this one?" Rory nodded to the van. The darkness went away and allowed the sun to once more hit the area, "Looks like we scared them off!"
"I don't think so. Now both sides have hostages," the Doctor mumbled.

"NO!" Avalon gasped awake, her hands flinging to her neck...only to have them crash against the clear wall in front of her that sealed her inside a near-like coffin. She panted as she came around from the awful nightmare. It seemed that even when she'd been swallowed by the planet and being unconscious wouldn't help her get some sleep. She placed her hands on the wall and tried pushing it off with all her might, "Let me out, whoever you are! I'm alive and you better RUN!" she slammed her hands on the wall repeatedly, "I am Avalon Reynolds and I'm not...I'm not scared!" she saw a distorted figure approaching her, "LET ME OUT!"
"Shh!" it said to her.
Avalon raised an eyebrow, "Did you just shush me? You're dead do you hear me!?" suddenly gas started to fill the coffin, "What are you doing!? Stop that!" she coughed, "Sop that..." she coughed some more then fell unconscious.

The Doctor was heading inside the basement with Lena behind him, a rather cautious engaged couple behind her, tentatively reaching for her arm in case the creature sat in the shadows attacked again. They all agreed that when Avalon returned, because she would return, she would definitely kill them all if anything happened to Lena.
"Are you sure? By yourself?" Lena whispered to the Doctor, "She could hurt you."
"Very sure," he assured her.
"But the sting..."
"Venom gland takes at least 24 hours to recharge," he stared at the silent creature, "Am I right?" he called to it but received no answer, "I know what I'm doing. I'll be fine."
Amy and Rory reached out for Lena finally and pulled her back upstairs, leaving the Doctor to deal with the creature. He walked down the remainder of the steps as the creature finally inched out of the shadows with chainmail and a mask over its face.
"I'm the Doctor, I've come to talk," he raised his hands up in peace as he grew closer to it, "I'm going to remove your mask," he he squatted down and removed the creature's mask to reveal a bright green humanoid, scaly face, "You are beautiful. Remnant of a bygone age on planet Earth. And by the way, lovely mode of travel! Geothermal currents, projecting you up through a network of tunnels. Gorgeous! Mind if I sit?' he stood up and reached for a folding chair which he placed in front of the creature and promptly sat down, " Now. Your people have a friend of mine. I want her back. Why did you come to the surface? What do you want?" the creature remained silent, making the Doctor sigh. "Oh, I do hate a monologue. Give us a bit back. How many are you?"
"I'm the last of my species," it responded.
"Really? No. 'Last of the species', the Klempari Defence. As an interrogation defense, it's a bit old hat, I'm afraid."
"I'm the last of my species."
The Doctor grew serious, "No, you're really not. Because I'm the last of my species and I know how it sits in a heart. So don't insult me. Let's start again. Tell me your name."
Seeing no other alternative, the creature responded truthfully, "Alaya."
"How long has your tribe been sleeping under the Earth, Alaya? It's not difficult to work out. You're 300 million years out of your comfort zone. Question is, what woke you now?"
"We were attacked," she spat.
But the Doctor knew that wasn't exactly what happened, to the human's perspective anyways. "The drill."
"Our sensors detected a threat to our life support systems. The warrior class was activated to prevent the assault," and by the looks of her face, Alaya had already made her decision on how best to eradicate their problem. "We will wipe the vermin from the surface and reclaim our planet."
"Do we have to say vermin? They're really very nice."
"Primitive apes."
"Extraordinary species," the Doctor countered. "You attack them, they'll fight back. But, there's a peace to be brokered here. I can help you with that."
"This land is ours. We lived here long before the apes."
"Doesn't give you automatic rights to it now, I'm afraid," the Doctor shook his head, "Humans won't give up the planet."
"So we destroy them."
"You underestimate them-"
"-you underestimate us."
"One tribe of homo reptilia against six billion humans, you've got your work cut out."
Alaya stood up, "We did not initiate combat. But we can still win."
"Tell me where my friend is," the Doctor stood up, "Give us back the people who were taken."
"No," she spat again.
He sighed, "I'm not going let you provoke a war, Alaya," he folded the chair up and returned it to its place, "There'll be no battle here today."
"The fire of war is already lit. A massacre is due," Alaya nearly cheered at the idea.
"Not while I'm here."
"I'll gladly die for my cause. What will you sacrifice for yours?"
The Doctor gave one last look then turned and left in silence.

"You're going to what!?" Rory exclaimed after hearing the Doctor's plan.
"I'm going to go down below the surface, to find the rest of the tribe," the Doctor repeated, "To talk to them."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Amy crossed her arms.
"You're going to negotiate with these aliens?" Ambrose nearly shouted.
"They're not aliens! They're Earth...liens!" the Doctor plopped down on a chair with an amused smile, "Once known as the Silurian race, or, some would argue, Eocenes, or Homo reptilia. Not monsters, not evil," he stood up, "Well, only as evil as you are. The previous owners of the planet, that's all. Look, from their point of view, you're the invaders. Your drill was threatening their settlement. Now, the creature in the crypt. Her name's Alaya. She's one of their warriors and she's my best bargaining chip. I need her alive. If she lives, so do Elliot and Mo and Avalon. While I'm gone, you six people, in this church, in this corner of planet Earth, you have to be the best of humanity."
"What if they come back?" Tony reminded, "Shouldn't we be examining this creature, dissecting it, finding its weak points?"
"I don't think dissection is going to keep my sister alive," Lena almost snapped again, "We hurt this creature and they hurt Avalon and I will not risk that, you got it?"
"Lena's right," the Doctor set a hand on her shoulder, hoping she'd calm down soon. Her emotions were rather radical and heavy today, certainly not the best way to keep her health in good state, "No dissecting! No examining! We return their hostage, they return ours. Nobody gets harmed. We can land this, together. If you are the best you can be. You are decent, brilliant people. Nobody dies today. Understand?"
Nasreen gave an applause but stopped when no one joined in, feeling a bit nervous afterwards.

The Doctor was heading towards the TARDIS when he heard two pairs of footsteps running closer to him. He looked back and saw Lena and Nasreen coming towards him, "No, sorry, no. What are you doing?"
"Coming with you, of course!" Lena panted for breath once they'd caught up, "Nasreen just came for her life's work."
"What is it?" Nasreen nodded to the TARDIS, "Some kind of transport pod?"
"Sort of," the Doctor answered her then looked at Lena, "You're not coming, baby sister. And neither are you Nasreen."
"He's right, you're not," Tony joined them, looking at Nasreen.
"I have spent all my life excavating the layers of this planet. And now you want me to stand back while you head down into it? I don't think so!" Nasreen shook her head.
"And I have to go," Lena declared, "My sister is down there. You can't expect me to wait up here. Amy and Rory didn't stop me and neither will you," she pushed open the doors of the TARDIS and stepped inside.
The Doctor sighed and let the brunette go, though he did look at Nasreen with a doubtful face, "It'll be dangerous," he warned her.
"Oh, so's crossing the road," she shrugged.
"Oh, for goodness' sake, all right, then! Come on!" he went inside the box and saw Lena already at the console, "Baby sister, your twin is gonna kill me for this."
"I'll explain to her that I forced you to take me," Lena crossed her arms.
Nasreen stood at the doorway, the doors now closed behind her, and stared with wide eyes at the bigger room inside, "Oh my..." she breathed.
"Welcome aboard the TARDIS. Now don't touch anything!" the Doctor called, "Very precious."
"No way!" she walked over with awe, "But that's... this is..." she slapped him on the arm and laughed, "What does it do?"
"Everything! I'm hoping, if we're going down, that barricade won't interfere," the Doctor said just as the box started pitching drastically, making everyone cling to the console, "Did you touch something?!"
"No! Isn't this what it does?!"
"Doctor, what's going on!?" Lena cried.
"We've been hijacked! I can't stop it! They must've sensed the electro-magnetic field!" the Doctor looked at the monitor, "They're pulling the TARDIS down into the Earth!"
The box shook for a couple minutes before it gave a final lurch and sent everyone the floor, finally becoming still. Nasreen lifted her head up and looked around before snapping one of the Doctor's braces.
"Oi!"
"Where are we?" she demanded through a small laugh.
The Doctor got up and helped Lena then rushed to the doors with her. They all stepped out into a yellow-colored tunnel with roots and fungus covering the walls. The Doctor looked up from the way they fell and whistled in impression, "Looks like we fell through the bottom of their tunnel system. Don't suppose it was designed for handling something like this."
"How far down are we?" Nasreen gasped.
"A lot more than 21km."
"So how come we aren't burning alive?" Lena asked the question that made them all think.
"Don't know. Interesting, isn't it?"
"Scary," she corrected and crossed her arms.
"Oh, not really," he swung an arm around her shoulders and the three began walking ahead.
"Is it like this is everyday to you?" Nasreen asked them, curiously.
"Not every day. Every other day," the Doctor shrugged. Nasreen couldn't fathom that type of life; she imagined it was what Lena felt like based off the facial expressions of the young woman.
In reality, Lena just really wanted her sister back already.

Old friends, aliens and curiosities - Part III
Listen, I can’t stop thinking about this gifset made by @lonely-night in which H.G Wells (Warehouse 13) & Lena Luthor (CW Supergirl) are old friends and working together in the present to retrieve a curiosity (A ping, darling) meant to kill Lena.
So this is VERY AU-ish and with a crossover no one knew we needed but well, we do. Here’s the third part (it covers the fourth gif, I think) with a little help from Winn and Claudia. Also, I’m making the plot up as I go, sorry about any inconsistencies.  Next up, Myka finally arrives to National City and meets the infamous Lena Luthor.
---
The voices rising behind the doors of her office pull Lena away from a very urgent email and she lets out a quiet curse, in Irish. She groans and reaches out for her interphone.
“It’s alright Jess, just let her in. She won’t take no for an answer anyway,” Lena sighs, already letting herself fall against the back of her chair.
Sure enough, Helena Wells enters her office, dramatically pushing the double door open before striding straight to Lena’s office.
“Hand it over.”
Lena arches a surprised brow.
“Good morning to you too, HG ... “ She retorts, irony dripping from her tone. “Now, what is it I’m supposed to hand over to you?”
Helena looks pissed, the frown above her eyes deep and permanent.
“The artefact, Lena. The one you designed yourself, apparently,” Helena replies, curtly.
“I did what now?” Lena gapes, taken aback.
Helena’s frown deepens, much to Lena’s amazement. She didn’t think it was possible.
“L-Corp is the company behind some kind of … alien detecting device, programmed to recognise any non-human DNA,” Helena states, slowly and cooly. “It’s what has been modified to kill you.”
Lena lets out a chuckle.
“That’s not possible.”
Helena’s frown disappear as she arches a brow of her own.
“It’s not,” Lena insists. “That device was created to help identify non-human, it’s harmless. You just put your thumb on a button and the microchip processes your DNA. It turns green if you’re human, red if you’re not.”
“It doesn’t sound like a weapon,” Helena nods but she still looks annoyed. “Could the microchip be reprogrammed into something else?”
Lena goes to reply but then pauses, looking thoughtful.
The chip was designed to host a tiny software the L-corp bioengineers programmed in association with a team of highly skilled developers but only to process DNA, to recognise markers and transmit the information as to whether or not it was human.
“I don’t think so, but I can’t be sure. I’ll have to ask around,” Lena retorts, slowly.
“Well, don’t ask the team that originally worked on it, maybe?”
“Why not?” Lena protests, not liking the insinuation.
Helena gives her a pointed look.
“Someone clearly managed to do something to the device to make it so it would kill, but not anyone. You specifically …” Helena explains, thinking out look. “Until we know more about how it happened, I’d say maybe we don’t pull any alarm … I know the level of skills you put in your products so, to be able to hijack it like that and make a weapon out of it ... the person behind the artefact must be some genius too. Like maybe … the ones you employs?”
Lena doesn’t reply but the thought doesn’t sit well with her. Helena keeps looking at her with suspicions in her eyes and it’s extremely annoying.
“Alright,” Lena sighs, unhappily. “I still need to be sure it can be reprogrammed so I’m going to call … a friend of mine. “
Surprise takes over the suspicion in Helena’s eyes, before it mutates into mischief.
“You have friends? Beside me, I mean?”
Lena rolls her eyes. She’s walked right into this one.
Still, Helena is nothing if not single-minded. She crosses her arms over her chest and then sighs “Just hand over the artefact, Lena.”
“How many times do I have to repeat myself?” Lena growls, pushing her chair back so she could stand up. “I don’t have the artefact.”
She walks around her desk and heads for her liquor cabinet.
She understands where her friend is coming from but she’s tired of being accused of things she didn’t do. In between the Super, the government, the DEO and the dead Luthor heirs piling up in National City cemetery, she’s been accused of pretty much every evil on the planet.
“Bit early for a drink, don’t you think?” Helena muses from behind her and Lena just flips her before pouring herself an unhealthy amount of Scotch.
She brings her glass back to her office and then reaches out for her phone. She searches for a specific name in her contacts and then dials.
“Hello Winn,” Lena greets warmly as soon as Winn picks up. “I need an engineering favor, could you drop by L-Corp at your earliest convenience?”
She smiles when Winn replies he’ll be there in twenty. He doesn’t sound too surprised, just excited at the prospect of working with her again.
“Who’s Winn?” Helena asks when Lena hangs up.
“A friend,” Lena replies with a smug smile. “Yes, I do have friends beside you. Winn used to work at CatCo but nowadays, he’s ...“
Lena pauses and wonders if Helena is aware of everything that’s been going on in National City lately.
“Ever heard of the DEO?” Lena asks, knowing full well she could get in trouble for even mentioning the name of the organisation.
“Yes,” Helena shrugs.
Lena smiles because of course Helena knows about the DEO. After all, they’ve both worked for the Warehouse, another extra normal government organisation doesn’t seem like a big deal. Not even one that works and deals with alien.
“Well, he’s one of their tech guy,” Lena explains with a wave of her hand. “He’s extremely smart, far more than they give him credits for. I’ve always wanted to poach him for L-Corp but he’s loyal to a fault, he’s going to stick with Supergirl until the end.”
“Supergirl, uh,” Helena muses, sounding a big distracted.
“She’s everywhere,” Lena nods before sipping at her Scotch.
“I’m going to call Claudia,” Helena states, seemingly out of the blue.
“Erm, sure?” Lena blinks, looking a bit thrown off.
“When your friend arrives, I mean. They’ll have a look at the chip and nerd around together, we’ll get our answers,” Helena explains and Lena watches as she pulls what looks like a ---
“Helena Wells, is that an iPhone?” Lena gasps, mockery lining her tone.
“Shut up,” Helena groans as she calls her friend.
---
Half an hour later, Winn is bent over the coffee table and Claudia’s face is occupying the entirety of Lena’s huge TV.
They’re talking too fast, exchanging orders, ideas and suggestions while using a vocabulary that even Lena sometimes doesn’t get. Pieces of the device are scattered all across the table and Winn sometimes moves the tablet so that Claudia could see better.
“I need access to the software, can you plug me in?” Claudia asks, her slightly disembodied voice echoing through the office.
“Sure, one second,” Winn replies, pulling out a laptop from his back and setting it up on a corner of the table. He’s fast and sure and Lena watches, a little mesmerised, as he plugs everything together.
“All good, let me know if it works?” Winn asks but Claudia is already squealing in delight as she enters the software.
“Oh whoa, this is … top notch code,” Claudia breathes, sounding very admirative.
“Why thank you,” Lena laughs, amused. “Now, the important question is … can it be hijacked and turned into a weapon?”
“Easy tiger, let me work my magic first” Claudia mutters, hands flying over her keyboard so fast it crackled across the office. “So, while I am at it, did you two bang, in the 17th or 18th century? I can never remember which one …”
Lena swears under her breath as Winn lets out a strangled gasp. His eyes become so wide they look about to bulge out of their orbits.
“Whaaaaaat?”
“Whoops, sorry I thought you knew!” Claudia winces, her face slightly distorted by the format of the TV. “Sorry!”
“You’re … from the past?” Winn asks, looking at Lena as if she suddenly had three heads.
“Aren’t we all?” Helena laughs next to Lena, looking utterly amused by the situation.
“No I mean … you … 18th century?” Winn squeaks, clearly struggling to stay conscious.
“Breathe, Winn. Breathe,” Lena sighs, motioning for her friend to follow her lead. She inspires and then exhales and watches as he does the same. “Yes, I … was around in the 19th century.”
“19th! I was way off,” Claudia laughs but when all eyes turn to glare at the tablet, she shrugs and focuses on her work.
“It’s … complicated. I got bronzed for centuries but at some point, the system malfunctioned and I was suddenly free, but in the 21th century” Lena explains, eyes traveling back between Winn and her decanter.
“How did you … managed to have such an extensive and lively background then?” Winn asks, frowning. He looks pale but his eyes are shining with wonder. “I mean, you’re supposed to be the daughter of Lionel Luthor, infamous sister of Lex Luthor … Not to mention your mother, who was a piece of work … No offense.”
“None taken,” Lena lets out a dry chuckle. “I made a deal with Lionel Luthor. I handed over a big part of the fortune I had amassed while being in the bronze and he created some really plausible story for my existence.”
Helena arches an impressive brow but Winn shakes his head.
“No one ever dug deeper? I mean, you do look extremely good for someone who’s over two centuries old but come on, no one ever asked why you never aged?”
“You never did,” Lena counters with a smirk. “You’re the DEO most talented IT guy and yet, when you checked my background, everything was legit, everything added up. So why would anyone else bother?”
“That’s …” Winn pauses and then relents “... accurate.”
“Sorry to interrupt this lovely story, although you still didn’t reply to my earlier question,” Claudia chimes in, looking very amused. Lena only rolls her eyes but Helena chuckles affectionately. “Anyway, I found something.”
Lena, Helena and Winn focus back on the TV, on which Claudia is now sharing her own screen. Lines of code are scrolling down until she highlights something.
“See this?” Claudia asks, moving her cursor above a few lines that seems innocuous enough. “It’s like a backdoor to the code, something that allows access to anyone who knows where to look. I don’t know exactly how it works, it seems to be really specific but it’s the answer you wanted. It is possible to access the software on the microchip and from there, anyone who knows how it works can reprogram it. To turn it into a weapon tho, it would require some really specific engineering skills …”
Winn steps forward and the way he looks at the code makes Lena think he’s seen it before. He’s frowning and searching for something.
“You know who’s behind it, don’t you?”
Winn startles and fidgets with his hands, looking slightly uneasy. Behind him, the lines of code disappear as Claudia’s face returns to the screen.
“Winn?” Lena insists, taking a step toward her friend. “What is it?”
Winn looks torn and Lena figures it’s because he is loyal to Supergirl first. It stings, but she doesn’t waver and she takes another step. She’s barely taller than him, with her heels, but she still towers above him.
“It’s …. I’ve seen this code before, but I didn’t think …” Winn starts to ramble, nervously looking around. “It’s … the same code that was used by Lord technology, I found something similar in the drones he’s sent to … spy on … Supergirl, years ago.”
Lena frowns.
“Maxwell Lord? Didn’t he left years ago after Myriad?”
“So we thought, but he’s nowhere to be found …” Winn replies, his voice rising a little from how nervous he was.
“Maxwell Lord was a very public figure and I heard rumours about him still mooning over Cat Grant, his disappearance is a little strange don’t you think? Did someone investigate this?” Lena pushes, knowing that at least Alex Danvers must have asked about the former tech CEO.
“Alex tried but then with everything that occurred …”
“Right,” Lena sighs.
Cadmus took over pretty fast after Myriad and then, it had been one shit storm after another, until Helena Wells all but barged into her office a few months ago. No time to dwell on the absents.
“Do you still need my help or can I return to my chess game with Myka?” Claudia suddenly asks, startling everyone in the room.
“Myka’s back?” Helena muses, sounding both surprised and slightly dejected.
“Yeah, since yesterday,” Claudia answers. “Pete’s still in Chicago though. According to Steve, it’s not exactly going well.”
“Of course it’s not,” Helena scoffs and to Lena, the underlying jealousy is deafening. It’s well hidden behind disdain but Lena has been around Helena enough to recognise the signs. “You could join us, if you’d like? I have a feeling this is going to require some kind of intervention, soon enough … Your help, along with Myka’s, would be greatly appreciated.”
Lena bites the inside of her cheeks to stop the laughter that threatens to burst out.
She’s never seen Helena try so hard to catch someone’s attention, it’s a little embarrassing. Even Winn looks a bit uncomfortable, shifting from one foot to the other and fidgeting with his hands.
“Oh, uh …” Claudia stammers. “Listen, I’ll ask Myka. I’ll text you the answer. Gotta go, bye!”
Before anyone could answer, the video link goes off and the news immediately resumes back on Lena’s TV. It shows Supergirl saving a bus full of young children and Lena instantly reaches for the remote to turn the screen off.
“Well, that answers it,” Lena muses to no one in particular.
She finally caves and goes to her decanter, offering Scotch to both Winn and Helena. They both accept and after a minute, they all sit around the couch with a glass in hand.
“Winn, will you investigate the mysterious disappearance of Maxwell Lord? I don’t think it’s him but still …” Lena says, seemingly lost in her drink. “I still don’t know what I could have done to make an enemy of him but then again, it’s not a surprise.”
“So popular,” Helena sasses from her side of the couch, in between two sips.
“I’ll get on it right away,” Winn retorts, finishing his drink and standing up. “I gotta go, duty calls but I’ll keep you posted. If your friend Claudia comes around, will you let me know? I’d love to pick her brain about a software I’ve been working on …”
“With pleasure,” Helena nods, offering a tight smile to Winn. He nods and then waves at Lena before exiting the office.
“Who’s Myka?” Lena asks as soon as the door closes behind her friend. She keeps her eyes on Helena and doesn’t miss the sparkle that shines in the inventor’s eyes
“She’s … an agent, she works for the Warehouse with Claudia,” Helena says over the rim of her glass.
“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” Lena rolls her eyes. “I meant, who is she to you? Don’t try to deny it, I’ve seen that look in your eyes before.”
For a moment there, Lena thinks Helena is seriously about to ask what look but then the inventor shakes her head and sighs, looking melancholic.
“She’s … fascinating,” Helena admits, her voice lowering as she gets all dreamy. Lena barely resists the urge to pull up her phone to snap a picture. “She’s smart in ways I can’t quite comprehend, her mind is quick and remarkable and she’s one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Her heart … She tries to protect it, behind walls made of protocols, laws and orders but it’s pure and generous, giving.”
Lena can only stare, taken aback by the raw affection in her friend’s tone.
The only person she’s ever heard Helena talk about in that way, all soft and loving, was her daughter Christina.
“I’ve hurt her, multiple times,” Helena confesses and her voice breaks ever so slightly. “I’ve almost killed her once and then … I kept running away. She’s chased after me for a long time but I was blinded by … grief, despair, anger. I didn’t realise how … dear she was to me, not soon enough anyway.”
The words are like an echo of her own feelings and Lena’s heart aches for her friend. She knows the feeling well. She had National City’s most beloved hero chasing after her for month, trusting her, believing in her and constantly supporting her, no matter what. She’d slowly started to believe it, that’s the worst part. That until it all crumbled under the poisonous revelation her fake-brother offered her before she pressed the trigger.
Lena leans forward and places a comforting hand over Helena’s thigh.
“Believe me, I understand. More than I could ever tell …” Lena whispers, thinking back on a pair of bright blue eyes filled with hope and loyalty that told volume of faith and trust. Those are eyes she can never trust again.
“Supergirl?” Helena inquires, looking at Lena with understanding shining in her brown irises.
“Yeah,” Lena nods, removing her hand from her friend’s lap. “I still don’t want to talk about it though.”
“Fine by me,” Helena simply replies.
They finish their drinks in companionable silence.

SuperPotterCorp Part 3
Summary & Warning : The SG x HP fic no one asked for yet I’m posting. It’s pretty bad not to mention NSFW with lots of triggers and  potential triggers like violence abuse and mention of all forms of  assault. also starts off between season 3 and four Lena knows about Kara  (obviously) [also agentreign] with the Bloody Brandy challenge.
A quick google maps search revealed that Harry’s address was just a 20 minute drive from Lena’s place. Though it was quite weird the address on the parchment was simply, Stone St, Diamond Apts, Top floor. at which Lena pointed out that maybe she’s bought out the whole floor, which in truth sounded ridiculous to the rest of the Superfriends except Lena, who stated that if she wants to hide an ability like Magic or something possibly nefarious getting rid of pesky neighbors seems like a good idea, this way no one can see something they’re not supposed to.
At first everyone was accepting of that idea till Winn put forth an additional possibility, that Harry had stolen that particular floor from someone using her abilities, which was quite plausible given how they have had seen people abuse their powers.
At 8.30 pm they arrived at the place, the building was a high rise tower that had been added to National city just a scant 3 years ago, they entered the lift as one and when they reached at the top floor they saw out of the lift there was a single corridor leading up to a door with a black sign board and Potter’s embossed on it in gold.
Alex rang the bell and they all waited with baited breaths for someone to open the door, their patience was rewarded when a teenage boy answered the door, it took Lena and Kara a single glance to mark similarities between the boy and Harry, which made them assume he was her son, he had the same bone structure and pale skin not to mention their eyes were the same emerald green, though there were quite some obvious differences too unlike his mother’s blood red tresses the boy sported a nest of raven colored mess on his head, and he was tall, his mother who Lena wouldn’t peg to be taller than 5′1″ or 2″ at most was quite diminutive compared to the 6′1″ young man standing in front of them.
Winn would later point out he looked very much like Harry Potter from the books sans the Lightning bolt scar.
He gave them a broad toothy smile and cheerfully greeted them, “Hello! nice to meet you! My name’s Casper like the friendly ghost, please come in, nice to meet you!” and then escorted them inside.
Meeting the cheerful boy the whole gang calmed down a little, the start was looking good and it looked less like a trap by the second, as they ventured in the house they noticed it was decorated in a simple manner, the inner entrance was painted sky blue with a few pictures of Harry, Casper and 2 girls of obviously different age, the older girl had dirty blonde hair with silver blue eyes, while the younger girl, who looked to be the same age as Casper, had raven colored hair similar to Casper but heterochromic eyes, her right eye was emerald green while the left one was brown.
As they entered the living room they were greeted by three girls, two were the girls from the photos and another brunette girl who was seated next to the older girl, all three of them glaring at the superfriends, an awkward silence ensued which was broken by Casper, “Guys meet my sisters, Macaria *pointing towards the blonde* and my twin sister Dandy *pointing towards the girl with heterochromia* short for dandelion, though I’d strongly advice you to not call her that.” he punctuated with a stern face.
“Also mum’s cooking so she’ll be with us shortly,” he added as an after thought.
Then he pointed towards the brunette and said, “She’s Mac’s - and consequently ours - childhood friend, and our found family, also the only one with a normal name around here, Buffy, yes after the vampire slayer.”
In turn the superfriends introduced themselves to the kids.
Macaria took a deep breath, and began, “So mom told us what happened, and just to let you know all three of us have powers and if you hurt her we’ll hunt you down. Periodt.”
Alex narrowed her eyes at the blonde and gave her a short nod of acknowledgement, then said, “Touché, but just a fair warning even we have powers, we won’t start anything but if you mother does we’ll be sure to end it.  Periodt.”
Both Kara and Casper frowned at their sisters, while the superfriends’ expressions said that they agreed with Alex.
Then Dandy growled towards Alex, but before the tension could escalate, Harry arrived from the kitchen wearing a white hoodie and faded jeans, she reached out to the super friends and began, “Nice to meet you guys once again, Just in case you guys don’t remember, I’m Harry, Harry Potter.”
Once again Winn was to the rescue by breaking the tension, “Like Harry Potter Harry Potter? Like the-boy....the-girl-who-lived Harry Potter? and is it short for something like Harley or Harriet?”
Harry laughed deeply at that and then waved her hands in their general direction to conjure some seating for the superfriends, thus proving the point that she had magic, or at least powers akin to magic, then she answered his question, “Yes and No, Yes because I am Harry Potter daughter to James Potter and Lily Potter née Evans, but I wasn’t hailed as the-girl-who-lived instead Neville Longbottom became the-boy-who-lived, as you can see there’s quite a few differences between the books and me, some obvious and others not quite so.”
Winn’s eyebrows furrowed, “So is Hogwarts real? and like how are you here?”
Harry gave him a short nod as she thought over how to reply to his questions then began, “Okay so to put it in short, the Arch way of Death in the ministry of magic, the one Sirius falls through in the books, is like a backdoor to the Multiverse, and I fell through it, then it was like being thrown around in a powerful water current, I had little control over where I was going, though at the end I luckily ended up here, in this universe nearly 16 years ago.”
Before Winn could continue his line of question Lena took over and asked about everything that had been bothering her since the morning, “That’s good, but i think we’re getting a little side tracked, can you please tell us what you meant by when you said we can’t annul our marriage? and how do you know that Kara’s Supergirl?”
Harry’s lips thinned but she gave Lena a short nod then she conjured a black chair similar to the one that she made this morning, taking a seat she began, “Okay, so as far as your first question goes, our marriage is magical in nature, the rings on our hands *showing the superfriends her ring* are magical in nature and they serve as a marriage contract, their nature depends on the kind of vow their user takes during the ceremony, which in our case was ‘Till Death do us part’ as such we are bonded in this matrimony until we die.”
Winn’s jaw dropped, James facepalmed Alex and John’s eyes narrowed at the woman, Kara winced, Lena closed her eyes and took a deep breath, mean while Sam frowned and then she posed a simple and logical question to Harry, “Then why on earth did you take a vow like that?”
Both Harry and Buffy chuckled at this, Macaria and Dandy started glaring at Kara and Casper sighed softly, then Harry began, “Oh the blame for that lies solely on Supergirl, she insisted that we vow ‘Till death do us part’ and then when I and Lena objected to it even in our drunken state she started crying that we hated her, and the next thing I know we’re screaming the bloody vows.”
Sam and Winn winced and the rest of the superfriends sans Brainy gave Kara an deadpan look, while the blonde looked like she wanted to crawl in a hole.
Then John asked, “Even if Kara asked you to take those vows why did you do it? I can understand why Lena would take those vows, though she’d have preferred to have been more sober, and I mean no offense by this but if it had only been the two of them rather than the three of you. Also something I’ve been meaning to ask why did you have those rings with you? I can understand that they might be family heirlooms but they don’t look like something someone, anyone, would wander around with especially when they’re going to get intoxicated.”
All three of them blushed in different measures, then Harry cleared her throat and began, “Well, during our last days together Sirius often told me to at least once get drunk and do something spontaneous, and yesterday I had entered the bar to fulfill that little promise between us...” she had a wistful look on her face and no one in the room had the heart to make a single sound that might disturb the peace that had spread in her posture.
Soon she snapped back to reality, back from the memories of what was once her happy place Kara thought, taking a deep breath Harry continued, “Well any ways, it was my first time getting drunk, so I think I do deserve some leniency,” as the superfriends’ face clearly expressed their disbelief, she gave them a small smile and said, “I am just 32 years old, and I adopted Macaria when I was 12, i was always afraid that I would be a monster like Vernon, and that led to me never getting drunk.” she finished with a bitter chuckle.
Most of the Superfriends had adopted an expression ranging from pity to horror as they remembered that, this woman was Harry Potter, and even if as she said some things were different from the books some others were still similar, like the Dursleys and their cruelty, but surprisingly or perhaps not so surprisingly Winn, Sam, and Lena had a look of understanding, understanding the feeling of not wanting to become the monsters and demons they ran from, of the feeling of wanting to protect your loved ones from even their dark shadows.
“And as far as the ring is concerned, I didn’t have it with me till before Kara suggested that we get married, so Lena objected to it first on the basis that we didn’t had any wedding rings for us and when she did that, in my intoxicated state I simply wished that I had some wedding rings and those rings suddenly appeared in my closed fist, from the Gringotts vault they were supposed to be in, all the way across that universe to this one.” she concluded with a dry look that said I rest my case.
Sam and Alex turned to their respective younger sisters and promptly face palmed.
A/n : sorry to leave this here, if anyone is even reading this, but kind of felt like a good end to the chapter. ciao,

Woke The F*ck Up- Chapter 29
August 15th, 2018
Three concerts down in her current world tour and Lena is crashing down from the high of it fast as she paces the new hotel room. Lena had released an album so shortly after her last that when it was announced that she was stepping back from music for a while, every venue sold out within the hour of tickets going up for sale. Right now though, she’s half-dressed in a new blue suit. The black pumps are waiting by the couch, and the jacket hangs by the door. She hates that she had to fly back to National City for this, but she has to see this through. Lena turns on her heel and paces the other direction while rehearsing in her head what she has to say.
“Lee,” Kara says softly from the couch.
Lena startles, forgetting her girlfriend is there. She turns to face Kara who has been watching her spiral into a near panic, pulling her out just in time. Lena smiles softly at her savior and goes to sit next to Kara. Kara immediately grabs both her hands, warm on Lena’s cold, nervous ones.
“Babe, you are going to be fine. I know it will be hard, but you can do this. We are all with you.”
“I know. I know. I got through Lex’s trial. I can get through Lillian’s. It’s just so personal this time. She kidnapped me, hospitalized you. It’s so much more emotional this time.”
“And you are even stronger.” Kara presses her forehead to Lena’s, and Lena closes her eyes and just absorbs Kara’s supportive presence.
A soft knock at the door and Lena’s assistant, Eve, calls that the car is waiting for them. Kara calls back that they will be right there, but she continues to sit with Lena for a few moments more. It’s going to be a long day. With a deep breath, Lena stands and Kara quickly follows. Kara holds Lena’s hand as she slips on her shoes and helps Lena into her blazer.
**
“In your own words, can you explain how you saw the events of the past year and a half?” the prosecutor asks Lena.
Lena’s pointer finger digs into the side of her thumbnail as she tries hard not to fidget. She has been briefed on this part and has practiced it over and over to try and be as calm and unbiased as possible.
She takes a deep breath. “It is no secret that I was estranged from my family. I took a path that was seen as unacceptable. My father did, however, leave money and a small percentage of the LuthorCorp stock in a trust fund before he committed his crimes that lead to his death. Before my brother was arrested, he legally transferred his shares to me as well. That left me with the majority and appointed me as the CEO of LexCorp, which my brother had changed the name to. I, however, have never had an interest in the corporate world. But as the new CEO, I had a very specific life insurance policy that essentially paid out large amounts of money to any kidnappers for my safe return.”
“And the defendant was aware of this policy?”
“I am sure she was. My father and brother had the same policy.”
“Did the defendant try to contact you before the alleged kidnapping?”
Lena tightens her hand into a fist at the word. There was nothing ‘alleged’ about it. “Yes. Several times. But after my brother’s arrest, I wanted nothing to do with my family. I already had an acting CEO managing the company as I decided what to do. My mother called and left messages that I ignored. She had made offhand comments about immigrants and the state of America before. I believe it alienated me even more. She was also not happy with my sexuality and people who were like me."
Jane Ramos paces in front of Lena as she pauses for the next question.
"How sure are you it was Lillian Luthor that kidnapped you?"
"One hundred percent. She was in my rental car when I was leaving National City Airport. She sprayed this aerosol spray in my face, and the next thing I knew I was waking up blindfolded and tied to a chair. She then proceeded to lay out her plan that either she would get the money from my insurance policy or would get to kill Power Girl when she came to save me. Or both. She was really hoping to Kill Power Girl and get the money. Cadmus had run out of funds since my brother's arrest."
"But you never saw her face after losing consciousness?"
"No. But that voice. I would recognize it anywhere. It has haunted me all my life."
"Why was your captor so sure the Power Girl would save you?" Jane asks.
"Power Girl was on a mission to end Cadmus. I'm sure she had made the connections. I'm also sure it could have been anyone that Cadmus took, and she would have been there."
"So Power Girl obviously rescued you. How?"
Lena knew this was coming. But she couldn't exactly put on record a secret government agency was working with the vigilante, who she was dating and whose sister was in that agency.
"I don't know. I was blindfolded the entire time. I remember hearing explosions and gunfire. A lot of shouting. Then something was tied around my waist, and I was hoisted upwards. Suddenly, I was on the roof with Guardian, and he was telling me to stay put while he went down and helped Power Girl get out. She took me on this zip line then and drove me to the police station. That was the last time I saw my mother before today."
Lena glances at the woman then. Lillian sits at the table next to her lawyer as stoney-faced as ever. She is careful not to show any emotion, but Lena almost cowls under the heat of fury in Lillian’s eyes. The lost little girl still trapped deep inside Lena wants to run away. Lena takes a deep breath.
“My mother is a very greedy person. She married for money and not love. She seized power wherever she could. Through connections or money or blackmail. The price of that greed has cost her more than she could ever imagine. Her husband is dead, her son is jailed, and her daughter never wants to see her again. In the end, she was the poison that tore our family apart and drove me away. I just hope our justice system doesn’t fail because my mother should not be a free woman.”
Murmuring ripples through the crowd in the courtroom following Lena’s statement, but Lillian does not make the same mistakes her son did. She stays quiet and allows her lawyer to cross-examine Lena. He tries to make it seem that since Lena never saw Lillian after losing consciousness that it could possibly have not have been Lillian afterall. After about twenty more minutes of questions, Lena is released from the stand and back to her waiting girlfriend and friends. Sam and Ruby sit in the row behind with Alex as Lena squeezes between Kara and Jess. Winn sits in the third row with Eve.
The rest of the day drags on as more witnesses are called and questions are asked. Jane warned Lena that this trial could go on for several days due to the sheer mass of crimes and how money was funneled in and out of the country. Honestly, Lena has planned to just come for this first day and then for the sentencing day. Kara squeezes Lena’s hand every once and awhile. After the lunch recess, the Arias women and Alex don’t return to the courtroom because of an increasingly bored eleven-year-old. Ruby has grown fidgety and her phone is no longer entertaining. Lena can’t blame the girl. She is going a little stir crazy also. Eventually, the judge calls a recess until the next day. It is so much like Lex’s trial but all so different. Cameras still camp out front, but this time, Lena leaves with Kara instead of Kara disappearing ahead of time. Jess, Eve, and Winn trail behind them. It touches Lena that she has more than Kara for her support. She actually has a support system with multiple friends. With a family that chooses her for everything she is.
In the end, Lillian is also sentenced to spend the rest of her life in prison, and Lena feels like a giant weight has been lifted off her chest. She returns to her tour feeling lighter and happier, going along even better with the brighter sound of her new album.

September 1st, 2018
“What do you mean you have to go? This was your night off! We haven't had any time together in weeks. Ruby starts back to school Monday, and who knows when we will be free again?” Sam stands in the living room on the opposite side of the couch from Alex as she slips on her jacket and pulls her gun from the wall safe behind a picture of Sam and Ruby. Alex had installed it when she started spending more and more time at their house.
“I’m sorry. But this is a high value target that they are bringing in. He’s been at the top of our list for awhile, and the task force finally nailed him.”
“But why do you have to be there? The whole point of this was so you would have more regular hours. All they are going to do is throw the man in a cell and fill out paperwork.”
“Because it’s my team! How can I expect them to look to me if I don’t show up?” Alex slides her gun to its holster with a bit more force than necessary. Alex reaches for the door knob and pauses. “I’ll be back in two hours. We can talk then.”
“Don’t fucking bother! Stay at work. It’s obviously more important.”
Alex tenses, ready to bite back with something that she knows she would regret. Instead, she bites the inside of her cheek and twists the door knob. Alex heads off into the night fuming and leaves her girlfriend near tears in the living room.
It only takes Alex about fifteen minutes to realize how big of a mistake she made. Another twenty minutes to get to the closest store that sells flowers and buy the biggest bouquet possible. Alex is back on Sam’s doorstep before the hour is over. She has called and let the Agent in charge of third shift know that she isn’t going to be in.
Sam answers the door, wrapped in a blanket and red eyed. “What?” she snaps.
“I was wrong. And an absolute idiot. You were right. I don’t have to be there for everything. I have to learn how to balance work and personal things. But you were wrong, work is not more important. You are. And Ruby. I’m sorry I lost sight of that.”
Sam stares at her, long and hard. She looks from Alex, to the flowers, and back up. Sam considers Alex’s words. “You are an idiot. But You are my idiot, and I love you.”
“You love me?”
“Yes, you big idiot”
“I love you too. Does this mean we are done fighting?”
“Take me to bed, Director Danvers.”
“Oh, gladly.”

December 20th, 2018
Lena’s bag feels heavy on her shoulder as she gets off the plane. A whole nine days off, but she is scared out of her mind because she’s spending them in Midville. To meet Kara’s mother. Lena takes a deep breath and walks through the airport to find her beautiful girlfriend. This is going to be a long break.
“Lee!” Kara’s voice rings out among the din of the busy airport.
Lena turns in a circle until she spots Kara. Kara hurries to her and sweeps her up in a tight hug before kissing Lena deeply. It’s been three weeks since they had last seen each other. Lena takes a deep breath of Kara because she’s missed her so much.
“It's not too late. We can get on the next flight out of here and run away.”
“Don’t tempt me. No, I should actually meet your mother. Even if she probably hates me.” Lena pulls away and fits her fingers between Kara’s to walk towards the exit. It’s a small airport about an hour from Midvale and amazingly peaceful with no cameras in sight. Kara walks Lena to the car she’s borrowed from Eliza.
“Eliza doesn't hate you. She’s really glad you are coming.”
“Glad to tell me off for breaking her daughter’s heart?” Lena slouches in her seat and crosses her arms.
“No, Lee. She’s glad to meet the woman that makes her daughter happy.”
“You’re probably right. Still, I’m worried.”
“Come on, time to cheer you up with some tunes. Alex and the Arias women will be here in three days. I need you in the Christmas spirit by then.” “Aren’t you Jewish?”
“Yeah, but the Danvers’ aren’t, so I was introduced to the joys of it. I still follow some of the bigger traditions like lighting the menorah and making latkes. Even though I don’t really follow it for the rest of the year, it’s a way to connect to my parents over the holidays. But it’s already over this year. It was at the beginning of December.”
Lena reaches over and takes one of Kara’s hands. “That’s very sweet.”
Kara glances at her with a small smile before looking back to the road, after a moment she says, “I have a whole Christmas movie lineup that starts tonight. Be ready.”
“For you, I’ll do anything.” Lena kisses the back of Kara’s hand and settles back into the seat for the rest of the ride while Kara sings to the radio.
It’s a beautiful landscape that leads to the seaside home, and Lena squeezes Kara’s hand tighter as they get closer. By the time Kara can shake her hand free from Lena’s grip to put the car in park, she can feel the blood rush back into her fingers as a thousand pricking needles. Kara unbuckles and turns to face her girlfriend. Lena bites her lip nervously and stares at the door.
“Just be yourself.”
“Myself is the problem.”
“Was. But now, we have been through a lot and are different people than we were.”
Lena takes a deep breath. “Okay. Let’s do this.”
Kara grins and kisses Lena’s cheek before popping the trunk to get her bags. Lena opens the door and gets out. She takes a deep breath of the salty, fresh air and instantly starts to feel better. It definitely feels like a place to raise kids and call home. It feels safe. The door opens, and a blonde woman appears with a smile.
“I thought I heard a car door. Glad you made it back, Kara. Lena, it's nice to finally meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too, Mrs. Danvers.” Lena holds out a hand as she closes the door.
Eliza pushes it to the side and wraps Lena up in a hug. “Oh, please. Call me Eliza.”
Lena hesitates before wrapping her arms around the woman. She squeezes her eyes shut and let’s Kara’s mom hug her in a way that she hasn’t felt in a long time. Lena is fighting tears by the time Eliza releases her, but she doesn't say a word about Lena’s shining eyes. Eliza just cups Lena’s cheek briefly before turning to her daughter.
“All right, Kara, take those up to your room. I put the air mattress in there. Alex and Sam will be in the guest room, and I have the pull out in the den ready for Ruby”
Kara blushes scarlet. “Eliza—”
“Kara, I’m old. Not senial. Nor do I have any delusions about my daughters. I was your age once. At least I don’t have to worry about an unplanned pregnancy.” Eliza laughs and heads inside.
“See, she loves you already.” Kara says from behind Lena as they watch after the woman.
“Fine. You were right. But I’m still waiting for some sort of talk.”
Kara sighs and leads Lena inside.
**
Lena watches quietly from the doorway as Kara sifts through boxes of ornaments to decorate the tree Eliza has already purchased. Kara had been incredulous when she found out Lena had never decorated a tree before. The Luthor's home was always professionally done, and she didn't celebrate Christmas on her own. She never felt the need to. Kara has insisted that Lena help while they put on Christmas music and drink hot chocolate.
"Lena, dear. Would you mind carrying that tray for me."
Lena moves back into the kitchen to take the tray Eliza gestured too. It is laden with chocolate chips, marshmallows, marshmallow whip, candycanes, and whipped cream. "What is all this for?"
"The hot chocolate, of course. Kara loves adding so many things to hers that it becomes a meal."
Lena laughs because that is so much like Kara. She glances back through the doorway to the woman in question when a warm hand covers hers on the countertop.
"Listen, Kara didn't tell me everything that happened between you two. But she did say you both made mistakes. Whatever those were, I'm glad you two are working things out. She's happier than I've ever seen her. All she's talked about for the past two days is you," Eliza says softly, clearly not wanting to alert Kara to their conversation.
Lena takes a deep breath and smiles back at the older woman. "I'm glad too. Even if we had never worked things out,  Kara made me a better person. Made me want to be one. She showed me that I deserved love. And I would never have stopped loving her for that."
Eliza squeezes Lena's hand as Kara shouts for them to hurry up, and Jingle Bell Rock starts playing from the speakers. It isn't the harsh talking to she’s been expecting from the mother of the girl's whose heart she broke. It’s… nice. Lena isn't sure what to do with that or the warmth she still feels on her hand even though Eliza has left the room with the tray containing the cups of hot cocoa.
The evening blurs into a flurry of sparkling lights and shiny tinsel and holiday music. By the time they finish, Eliza pops some popcorn on the stovetop and Kara has picked out a holiday movie, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Kara insists Lena has to watch all the classic claymation movies. Kara and Lena cuddle together on the couch while Eliza takes a comfy recliner. She disappears about halfway through, and Lena is thankful for her giving the two of them some alone time. Lena burrows deeper into Kara’s side, and Kara tightens her grip on Lena’s thigh, basically in between Lena’s legs. Kara just chuckles at something in the movie and reaches for another handful of popcorn. Lena watches Kara watch the television in the soft glow of multicolored lights.
Lena could write a whole album about this woman. Well, she technically already did, but Lena could write another one. And another one. She could write a thousand more and still not feel like she’s captured the beauty of this moment. Lena admits defeat and decides instead to just rest her head on Kara’s shoulder. Soon Lena drifts off to sleep. She eventually is vaguely aware of Kara helping her to her feet and pulling her upstairs.

December 23rd, 2018
The kitchen is covered in about a dozen different types of cookies and holiday sweets. Lena sprinkles more powdered sugar on the marble slab to roll out the sugar cookie dough while Kara selects another shape to cut out. A finger darts out in front of Lena and swipes up some sugar.
“Hey!” Lena exclaims as she turns to face the culprit.
Kara wipes the sugar on Lena’s nose with a laugh. “You’ve got a little something right there.”
“Huh, wonder how that happened.” Lena reaches for a hand towel to wipe it off when Kara’s hand stops hers.
“No worries, I’ll get it,” Kara says as she leans in and kisses Lena’s nose.
Lena scrunches her nose up with a smile. “Did I get any anywhere else?”
“Hmm… Yup. There is some right here,” Kara kisses one cheek. “And right here,” she kisses Lena’s other cheek. “And… right… here.” Kara kisses Lena’s lips.
Lena deepens the kiss and pulls Kara closer. Kara’s hands cup Lena’s cheeks while Lena’s hands cup Kara’s ass. Kara’s tongue darts out between her lips to brush against Lena’s and Kara chuckles. Lena smiles back and gives a couple more soft pecks.
“I know you’re sweet usually, but the sugar is just an added bonus to kissing you.” Kara teases.
“Oh, come on!”
The exclamation breaks them apart. Kara looks over her shoulder to see Alex and Sam laden with baggage and standing in the doorway. Sam turns and laughs into Alex’s neck as Alex fumes and blocks Ruby’s view of the kitchen shenanigans. Lena lets go of Kara and goes to hug Sam and Ruby. Kara hangs her head before turning to her sister. Alex is holding back laughter by the time Kara gets to her.
“What’s so funny?”
“You have sugar handprints on your ass,” Alex tries to say low enough that Ruby can’t hear.
Lena does cover Ruby’s ears. “That’s because she has a sweet ass.”
“Not in front of my daughter,” Sam exclaims.
“Relax, I covered her ears.”
“Not well.” Ruby laughs.
Sam shoots Lena a glare, and Lena just laughs and kisses the top of Ruby’s head. It’s getting harder and harder to do with each passing week as the girl becomes just as willowy as her mother.
“I heard voices, are the girls here?” Eliza calls from the den that doubles as her office.
“Yeah, Mom!” Alex calls.
Eliza emerges from the other room and hugs her daughter before being introduced to her girlfriend and girlfriend’s daughter. Eliza shows Ruby where the den is while Alex and Sam take their bags up stairs.
“Well, that was embarrassing.”
“Please, no worse than when you were fucking me on the pool table. Or when I walked in on them topless in the living room.”
“You what?”
“Oh, yeah. They planned a date night, sent Ruby to a sleepover, but forgot to tell me. I had spent thirty-six hours in the studio and went home to shower and sleep. Unfortunately, it was after dinner and wine but luckily before the pants had come off.”
Kara laughs and goes back to cutting out cookies. “At east for us we were in my apartment behind a locked door.”
“Very true. Come on, let’s get these cookies in the oven so that we can all decorate.”

December 24th, 2018
Christmas Eve brought about a party in the Midvale town square. Lights were strung up and local lenders had booths. A mix of barrel drums and outdoor electric heaters kept the temperature bearable for folks to laugh and play carnival games. Hot drinks flow freely with shots of alcohol available for purchase for the adults. Lena questions the fact that no one seemed to be ID’ing anyone, but Kara just explains that the town was so small that if you’re underage and wanted alcohol, you have to go at least two towns away to use a fake.
Ruby excitedly jumps from game to game, flitting back once in awhile to get cash from her mother for food or to introduce a new friend. Eliza is busy running a booth so it leaves the four women on a double date, sitting at a picnic table sharing stories and snacks.
“Yup, and then she left me with this poor clingy girl who just wanted to dance with her favorite star.” Sam laughs.
“Okay, but she was insane. You left out the part that she followed us to three different clubs, jumped a VIP rope, was tackled and thrown out of the first, dumped a drink on another girl for asking for my autograph, and told me she would lick my feet. That girl was off her rocker.”
“And you climbed out a bathroom window and only texted me twenty mintes later once you were safely home.”
Alex and Kara laugh at Sam’s eye roll as they continue to exchange story about one another. They also take turns getting drinks to warm themselves, alcohol spreading through their bloodstreams. Eventually, Alex and Sam drift off to join the festivities, and Kara sits sideways to wrap her arms around Lena.
“Hey,” Kara whispers close to Lena’s ear.
“Yeah?”
“So since we are all here…”
“Yes…”
“That means no one is at the house.”
“I like where this is going…”
“Have you ever done it on an air mattress?”
“I’ll try anything once. Come on.” Lena excitedly grabs Kara’s hand and pulls her to her feet.
They try not to run back to the house, but Lena is way too excited. It’s been weeks since she and Kara had been intimate. With Eliza just down the hall, Lena hasn’t been willing to risk it. They manage to make it all the way to Kara’s room before removing clothing and tumbling onto the air mattress wedged between the twin beds. The alcohol makes everything blurry and warm, and before Lena knows it, she is riding three of Kara’s fingers as Kara lays under her. The orgasm that takes her is slow and sure, but then a wave hits her and Lena sits down hard and chokes back a moan. Lena faintly registers a soft pop and a hiss.
“Oh, shit.”
“What?” Lena asks lazily.
“Ah… I think we popped the mattress.”
Lena realizes then that Kara’s hips are sinking as Kara’s head gets closer to Lena’s. Lena rolls off of Kara with a laugh, and the hiss seems to get louder as she lays down beside Kara on a rapidly deflating bed. Kara starts laughing with Lena, and they stop suddenly when they hear the front door and muffled voices from downstairs.
“Come on, we can sleep on the twin beds.” Kara whispers.
“Beds?” Lena whispers back.
“Or we can squeeze onto mine.”
“That sounds better. Plus then I can fuck you in your childhood bed.”
“Later, babe. We have a full house again.”
Lena pouts while Kara struggles to get out of the bed and throw Lena a shirt and shorts. It takes a few minutes, but they finally settle in the narrow bed with Kara spooning Lena tightly. Kara glances at the digital alarm clock that used to wake her up every morning. 12:01.
"Merry Christmas, Lee."
"Merry Christmas, Kar."
**
December 25th, 2018
Kara is woken by a ball of cloth thrown in her face. “What the— Alex!”
“You two snuck off last night. Here’s your pajamas.” Alex stands in front of the bed with her Arms crossed. “And now I know why. How did the mattress get deflated?” Alex raises an eyebrow, pointedly.
“Oh, sweet. Eliza went with elf pajamas this year. Did she get Ms. Claus for herself?” Kara accuses her sister’s accusatory looks.
Alex rolls her eyes. “Just be glad that I came up and not Mom. Be downstairs in five, or we are starting without you.” She turns on her heel a little dramatically and exits.
“I’m sorry, what did I miss here?” Lena wipes the sleep from her eyes and Kara kisses her lips before climbing out of bed over top of her girlfriend.
Kara strips off her sleeping shirt and pulls on a long sleeve button-up that looks very elf like. “Every year, Eliza and Jerimiah would give us pajamas to wear on Christmas Eve. Eliza still keeps up the tradition. I just assumed she wasn’t doing this year with all and the Arias’.” Kara pulls up the long pants that are red and green to match the shirt. “Here, there is a pair for you too. I wondered why she asked for your clothes size.”
Lena sits up much slower, glancing at the clock which reveals that it is still before eight. Lena wipes at her eyes again before standing and taking the clothing from her much too peppy girlfriend.
“You are lucky I love you,” Lena grumbles as she begins to pull off her shirt and put on the Christmas colored clothing.
“I count my blessings every day.”
“You are too cheesy sometimes.”
“You want me to stop?”
“Never.”
They make it downstairs before the five minute deadline and settle onto the couch with hot cocoa, despite Alex’s glare and Sam’s suppressed laughter. True to Kara’s word, all the women are wearing elf pajamas, and Eliza is wearing a set in red with a white apron printed on the front, very Mrs. Claus. Eliza hands Ruby her first present, despite Sam’s protests that it isn’t necessary, and then Ruby takes turns handing out gifts from youngest to oldest.
Colorful wrapping paper soon litters the floor as gift after gift is opened. Most are from Eliza to Ruby. The other women brought gifts for each other too, adding to the paper carnage.
“Alright, my turn.” Lena says and gets up. Instead of grabbing one from under the tree, Lena goes to the front door. “What are you doing babe?” Kara asks.
“I was warned you are a notorious present peeker.” Lena says, as if that explains everything.
“Am Not!”
“Are too!” Alex yells back.
“Am Not!”
“Are too!”
“Not!”
“Too!”
“Not!”
“Not!” Alex repeats.
“Too!” Kara exclaims, before groaning and slapping a hand to her forehead.
“Hah!” Alex sticks out her tongue at her sister.
“If we are done, your present should be here right about…” a knocking on the door, “Now.” Lena opens it to a warmly dressed personal currier with a large box. She balances it awkwardly as it seems to shift, and Lena pulls out a wad cash to generously tip the man working on Christmas. Lena walks awkwardly back towards the couch and carefully sets it down.
“What—” Kara begins to ask as the box shifts. Kara notices the holes in the said of the gift wrapped box and looks at Lena excitedly.
“Go on. Open it,” Lena urges.
Kara rips into the paper and hurriedly unfolds the top. A soft excited yip accompanies a shaking of the large box. Kara squeals and reaches inside, pulling out a white, wiggling, little fur ball. Everyone gasps and begins cooing about how pretty he is. Kara turns him to face the room revealing the black patch of fur stretching over one brown eye. The other was a bright blue that matched his new owner’s.
“What’s his name?” Kara asks.
“Hold on, I have the paperwork in my purse.” Lena grabs the envelope and hands it over the Kara who tries to open it and hold on to the squirming fluff ball at the same time.
When she manages to get the papers out, Kara scans them quickly. “It says Krypto.”
“Actually I think it’s supposed to be Klepto. The shelter said he kept stealing all the toys and treats and hiding them under his bed. It was an issue in the home his litter was born in, and because of his splotch no one wanted to buy him. So the shelter named him Klepto.”
Kara gasps and covers the puppies ears. “How could they do such a thing to such a beautiful creature.”
“Well, people buying purebred American White Shepherds usually do it for a show dog. The discolored fur wouldn’t look good. It’s technically a genetic mutation.”
“What a terrible thing. But don’t worry, you will be loved. And no more of this Klepto business. It’s Krypto now. Like the dog in the comics.”
“Whatever you want, babe. He’s yours now.”
Kara squeals again and lets the dog lick her face. Lena just watches her girlfriend for a few minutes before Ruby whispers in her ear. Kara gasps and hands Ruby the puppy as she sprints towards the back of the house.
“Where is she going?” Lena asks.
“To get your present.” Ruby says matter of factly.
“What do you mean? She already gave me the leather bound notebook and fountain pen.”
“You’ll see.” Ruby returns to playing with the puppy.
“Merry Christmas, Lee. I guess great minds think alike.” Kara arrives in the room room holding her own fur ball, this time black. Two little ears peek up above the Christmas bow tied to its neck. The kitten turns to the room and opens it’s green eyes, the pitch black fur only interrupted by a white streak over one eye. “One of the women in town had a litter and was going to give them all to the shelter if no one would take them, and you said you needed at least one cat.”
It’s Lena’s turn to get excited and she hops up to take the kitten. “What’s its name?” Lena lifts the cat above her head to check it’s rear end.
“I was Thinking Harry, like Harry Potter. You know, because of the ‘scar’ above his eye.”
“Hate to break it to you, but this little guy is a girl.” Lena cuddles the kitten back to her chest after being sure.
“Harriet Potter?” Kara tries again.
“Ah, no.” Lena sits back on the couch and scratches behind the kittens ears to begin the purring.
“I’ve been calling her Streaky.” Ruby chimes in, while trying to contain the squirming pup.
“You have?” Sam asks.
“Yeah, they kept her in the den with me, and Eliza made me promise not to tell. I had to call her something. She has a white streak on her head. Plus, she’s very fast, and ‘blur’ didn’t have the same ring to it.”
“She’s really that fast?” Kara asks and takes the puppy from Ruby to try and let the puppy sniff the kitten.
The kitten stiffens in Lena’s arms as the sniffing nose gets closer. Then, before Lena can blink, the kitten is gone from her arms, and Krypto is scrambling to chase her. Lena and Kara look at each other before scrambling after the animals, Kara basically vaulting over the coffee table. Laughter erupts behind the couple as they chase the animals into the hallway and then into the kitchen. Lena worries about the chemistry of the two and hopes this won’t end poorly.
By the time they get to the kitchen, Krypto is pinned on his back while Streaky bite s playfully at his ear. Krypto’s growl is less than impressive as he tries to escape while also trying to bite Streaky’s tail.
“Look, they are friends already.” Kara grins.
“And adorable. Look at them, complete opposites. Black and white, dog and cat. He and she. Yin and Yang. So adorable.” Lena tries to catch her breath while still laughing. They leave the animals to continue their play.
Back in the living room, clean up is happening before they finish cooking brunch together. Ruby has disappeared to set up her new Nintendo Switch in the den. Kara puts A Christmas Story on the television in the living room. It’s an all day marathon, Lena has learned, and Kara intends to watch it at least twice.
Lena just goes along with all the Danvers family traditions, including making these fried dough things rolled in cinnamon and sugar. Kara informs Lena that they dubbed them Elephant balls as Lena takes a big bite. Lena almost chokes as a laugh escapes.
“They are what?”
“Well, they taste like the elephant ears you get at the fair. But in ball form. Hence elephant balls.”
“Well despite the name, they are delicious.” Lena grabs a second one.
After a brunch to rival all brunches, Kara pulls out a winter themed puzzle that they work on while the movie plays in the background. When that’s finished, Alex pulls out Clue. Then Sam drags Ruby and her new gaming system back into the living room to share and play some of her new games.
It’s the best Christmas Lena has ever had. It was the best holiday Lena has ever had. They didn’t do anything but spend time with each other. For dinner, they order Chinese food from the only Chinese restaurant in Midvale. Lena does coax Kara into actual clothes to take a cute picture sitting in front of the tree. Each of them hold their gifted animals and face Alex who is taking the picture. Then, while the animals face forward, the couple kisses. Alex is a fantastic photographer, and Lena tells her so when she gets her phone back to judge the image. Lena sends it to Kara so they can post it on their respective Instagram accounts.
Sometimes, your opposite can make you whole. Lena types out. Kara kisses her when she sees it.
Not as good with words as my girlfriend so… ditto.
Lena laughs and kisses Kara back. Then they both turn off their phones to rejoin their family for the rest of the evening. Later that night, Lena convinces Kara to let Lena return the favor. Kara cumming quietly while biting her own forearm and Lena’s tongue moving between her legs.
“Best. Christmas. Ever,” Kara whispers as Lena lays on top of her.
“Ditto,” Lena sighs out.
**
December 30th, 2018
Kara follows Lena from Midvale to Metropolis to support her as she sings for the Glenmorgan Square New Years Eve Party. It is blistering cold and windy as Kara drinks spiked, hot apple cider to try and stay warm. Even the VIP section is crowded as Kara waits for her girlfriend to be introduced. The VIP section is to the side of the stage on a raised platform so Kara will be able to see the performance and the crowd. Alex steps up and joustles her from one side, Sam shouldering in on the other as they try to share body heat. They have left Ruby with Eliza and the new animal family members and made the drive into the city. Lena has rented a suite of rooms in a nearby hotel for the four of them to stay in.
Lena’s nervous. She’s seen Kara a couple of times on tour, but this is the first time she’ll be singing in front of her. She’s told Kara as much, and Kara has kissed her deeply enough to make her blush in front of the stage hands. Now Kara is waiting as the minutes tick closer to midnight. Lena has a three song set that goes straight into the ten second countdown for the final stretch of the ball drop.
A hiss sounds softly over the crowd as smoke fills the stage. “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… Lena Luthor!” An announcer yells over the crowd before the opening notes play.
Take your clothes and rip 'em, rip 'em off
Call these hoes and tip 'em, tip 'em off
Lena rises up from below the center stage to the cheers of thousands. She’s in full on Lena Luthor mode, and Kara is enraptured.
You can tell them you are mine
I'm sick of, sick of games
No more time, you lit the, lit the flame, yeah
We live in an age where everything is staged
Where all we do is fake our feelings
I've been scared to put myself so out there
Time is running out, yeah
Need to let you know that
Last night I woke the fuck up
I realized I need you here, as desperate as that sounds, yeah-eh
Last night I woke the fuck up
I realized I need you here, as desperate as that sounds, yeah-eh
Take these walls and rip 'em, rip 'em down
Take my (uh) and snip 'em, snip 'em now
I will tell them I am yours and very, very proud
I am forced to give in, give in now cause
Kara watches and sips her drink as her sister and Sam flirt with each other and share a night free of responsibilities. Kara has heard all of Lena’s music at this point, but watching her perform has made her more and more sure that they are heading down the right path this time. Kara is rubbing shoulders, literally, with famous people, but all she has eyes for is Lena as she begins her second song.
I was just an only child of the universe
And then I found you
And then I found you
You are the sun and I am just the planets
Spinning around you
Spinning around you
You were too good to be true
Gold plated
But what's inside you
But what's inside you
I know this whole damn city thinks it needs you
But not as much as I do
As much as I do, yeah
'Cause you're the last of a dying breed
Write our names in the wet concrete
I wonder if your therapist knows everything about me
I'm here in search of your glory
There's been a million before me
That ultra-kind of love
You never walk away from
You're just the last of the real ones
You're just the last of the real ones
Kara laughs to herself. Lena told her this song was about Power Girl. It was Lena accepting that Power Girl was a part of Kara, but also sharing how much she needed Kara even though the city needed her too. It was sweet, and heart breaking. But Lena told Kara it was a good song. One that helped her process her feelings.
I'm here at the beginning of the end
Oh, the end of infinity with you
I'm here at the beginning of the end
Oh, the end of infinity with you
I'm done with having dreams
The thing that I believe
Oh, you drain all the fear from me
I'm done with having dreams
The thing that I believe
You drain the fear from me
Almost everyone around Kara is now fully focused on the performance. The crowd below is singing along, and it’s amazing. Just over four minutes are left until the new year as Lena begins her final song.
Out of the seven billion people in this world, there's only you.
Almost a million words that I could say, but none of them will do.
So many years that I have lived, but it feels like I've just begun.
Out of the seven billion people, baby, you're the only one.
I've been too many places. I've seen too many faces.
I wrote too many pages; never found a love like you. (Love like you)
I don't know how to say it. It's been more than amazing.
My whole life, I've been waiting; never found a love like you. (Love like you)
Sleep, dream, you, repeat. Live, die next to me.
Sleep, dream, you, repeat. Sleep, dream.
Out of the seven billion people in this world, there's only you.
Almost a million words that I could say, but none of them will do.
So many years that I have lived, but it feels like I've just begun.
Out of the seven billion people, baby, you're the only one.
You were unexpected, when our lips connected.
I was resurrected; never found a love like you. (love like you)
Don't care where I'm headed when the world is ending.
'cause you are my heaven; never found a love like you.
Surrounded by numbers.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one
You brought me back to life.
You did the unthinkable.
Yeah, you are my miracle.
Out of the seven billion people in this world, there's only you.
Almost a million words that I could say, but none of them will do.
So many years that I have lived, but it feels like I've just begun.
Out of the seven billion people, baby, you're the only one.
Surrounded by numbers.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one.
Surrounded by numbers.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one.
(Numbers, numbers, numbers, numbers)
You're the only one.
On one of the big screens behind Lena, just under the Giant Ball slowly dropping it’s way to the new year. Just a few inches are left as the number ten flashes on the screen and switches to a nine. Lena calls out the numbers as the crowd joins.
“Here, hold my drink.” Kara calls to her sister, not waiting for a response before shoving it in her hand.
Alex sputters a protest as Kara grips the railing and vaults over it. “Hey!” her sister calls after her, but Kara sticks the landing eight feet down and strides across the stage.
“Three, Two, One!” Lena calls into the microphone.
Kara sweeps Lena into her arms as the confetti cannons explode and dips her into a kiss. The confetti swirls around them and leaves them in their own little world. Kara pulls Lena back up and kisses her again. Lena pulls confetti from her girlfriend’s hair, even though it’s pointless.
“Did you just jump onto stage to kiss me?”
“I had to kiss my girlfriend at midnight.”
“Just had to, huh?”
“I had to start the year off right. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a good one. “
“Me too.”
They kiss again before the calls of Sam and Alex pull them apart. “Ready to party?” Lena asks.
“Ready to babysit our friends? Because I’m pretty sure Alex is already drunk.”
Alex is. Lena and Kara spend the rest of the night dancing at a party while keeping one eye on Sam and Alex. Around three, they decide to lead the two back to the hotel. Alex and Sam have been slumped together in a booth saying some not so PG things to each other. Not that either are in a state to follow through on those things. Once both are laying on their hotel bed, Lena goes to get some water for both of them in the morning along with some aspirin to leave on the bedside tables.
Kara manages to take off their shoes and outer layers before Alex throws her arms around Sam and completely passing out. Sam has already beaten her to it. Lena comes back in to set the glasses and aspirin down.
“One more drink before bed?” Kara asks.
“No. No I don’t think so.”
“Do you want something else?”
“Yeah. I think I do. Kara, I want kids.”
Kara gasps, not expecting that revelation. “Really?”
“Yeah, really.”
Kara kisses Lena then, and Lena begins to push Kara back out the door towards their own room. They start tearing off clothing and tripping to get there faster. Kara chuckles a couple of times.
“Sorry, did you mean you want kids right now? If so, it’s about to be pretty disappointing. Also, I think I should maybe teach you about the human reproductive system.”
Lena laughs too. “No, not right now. Later you can give me a refresher course, but right now, how about we get some practice in?”
“I like practice.”
“Then shut up and fuck me.”
“My pleasure. And yours.” Kara adds cheekily before pulling Lena into the room and shutting the door.

Lena, Number Eight
Lena is born on the same day as the others, and named Number 8. Her telekinesis develops early, and at first presents as largely pedestrian compared to the powers the other children possess. But then her genius starts to peek through. She's the smartest of the eight, and she leaps ahead in her studies, and she develops an uncanny sense of the world around her at an early age. Then the predictions start. Except they aren't predictions. There's no hint of maybe in the way Lena predicts the outcome of a challenge, or the way she turns toward a target before it pops up-- despite having no means to know its location ahead of time. She's the hesitant one-- the one who refuses to sneak out because she knows they'll be caught, the one who pokes holes in their plans by listing all the ways it could go wrong. Lena displays no leadership qualities compared to #1, but on a whim, Lord Reginald assigns her as team leader for a training exercise. She gets them through with perfect marks. Luther resents the stroke of brilliance, but Reginald sees something else in the thoughtul certainty with which Lena considered her options and chose a plan of action. He does further studies, performs additional tests, and comes to the singular conclusion that Lena possesses the gift of precognition.
He determines it is an extension of her telekinesis, enriched by her intellect and physical sense of the world around her. There's some psychic element to it as well... in close proximity to someone, her powers can narrow on that individual, honing her perception to even a few days out. The longer she's with someone, the further she can see into their future.
Which becomes a problem when Lena sees Lord Reginald's future, and the abuse he intends to visit on his children. She runs away one day, and alerts child protective services of what's happening in the house. The resulting investigation comes to nothing, but it is Reginald's rude awakening that Lena will prove more a hindrance than a help. He tries to control her, but fails. Lena is too strong willed, and loves her family too much to just stand by while the future slowly unfolds. She tries to warn her siblingd, but they ignore her. They've already interpreted the special attention Reginald gives her as favoritism, and they shun her from the group. A solution to Reginald's Lena-shaped problem arrives in the form of an old friend-- Lionel Luthor. There have been attempts on Lionel's life, and he's heard rumors of the children Reggie is raising. Could one of them prove useful in ensuring his safety? Reggie gives him Lena. Her telekinesis alone is a valuable asset in protection. She's delivered to the Luthor Manor and spends days at his side. And Lena proves useful, in more ways than one. Lena demonstrates an uncanny sense of danger. She hesitates at a crosswalk a heartbeat before a taxi runs a red light, clipping another pedestrian. She causes a gunman to trip before he can fully draw his weapon-- he shoots himself in the foot, and leaves Lionel unscathed. Another bullet, sniped from a distant building during an outdoor press conference, slows just before it hits Lionel between the eyes. He watches as it seems to freeze, then veer away to burrow harmlessly in the sculpture behind him. The clincher comes the day Lionel is scheduled to leave for a business trip. Lena-- who feels some affection towards the man who calls her by a real name and strokes her hair in tenderness-- clings to his hand, and tells him not to leave. She's young enough that she can't fully articulate why, but there's something in her gaze that gives Lionel pause. He delays his departure one day. The Luthor family jet explodes in its hangar, at the same time he was meant to have been halfway across the Atlantic. Now Lionel suspects there is more to Lena than Reginald led him to believe. Instead of returning Lena at the conclusion of their contract, Lionel offers to take Lena off Reggie's hands for good. Reggie agrees-- for a considerable sum. Lionel is all too willing to pay.
And so Number 8 becomes Lena Luthor, the adorable adoptive daughter that Lionel treats better than his own son. At first, she remains a protection asset, but soon her intellect for business comes to light. Lionel takes to asking her for investment recommendations, and Lena unofficially guides LuthorCorp to unprecedented profits. At first, Lex and Lena have a decent rapport. Lionel doesn't share her gifts with the rest of the family, and so to Lex she's just a companion, the little sister he always wanted. But Lena begins to out herself, little by little. When Lex complains about his fate as the next Luthor mogul, Lena reassures him that he won't be in the role long. Lena asks to learn the same lessons as her brother, particularly those spent shadowing Lionel at work. When asked why, she simply replies that she wants to do just as well. Given that Lex has been born and bred to lead LuthorCorp for life, the fact she thinks she'll have any opportunity to do the same is odd. But odder still is the way that Lionel cedes to her wish, and even begins to bestow more time and effort into teaching her than he does Lex. He trusts her insight is the result of her ability, and doesn't bother resisting fate. If Lena is to be the true successor, then he'll ensure she's prepared for the responsibility. Lex notices all this, and starts to resent her. Lillian eventually learns the truth of her powers, and tells Lex. In an instant, the final kernels of his affection dry up, and in his eyes Lena is nothing more than an aberration of the natural order. Together, he and Lillian convince Lionel to send Lena abroad to boarding school. They tell him it will enrich her education, allow her to establish her own connections within their social circle. Lena hides her abilities at school, more closely than she ever did at home. But that doesn't keep her from having her premonitions. She dreams one night of a fiery car crash, and her father trapped inside a burning vehicle. She calls home immediately, but connects to Lillian. Her mother listens to her tearful warnings, but calls it nonsense. Less than 12 hours later, Lionel is dead. They bring Lena home for the funeral, and she never returns to school. The next ten years are a murky period of occasional public sightings but general seclusion of the youngest Luthor. She only emerges from the woodwork when Lex is convicted of crimes too numerous to list, all aimed at destroying mutants and aliens alike. Just as she predicted, the board taps Lena to run the company. They don't trust Lillian for her ties to Lex, and though Lena is somewhat of an unknown, she worked at Lionel's side for years, and her intelligence is well known in the industry. Plus, Lionel's will indicated that Lena was to assume control of the company should anything happen to Lex. She soon proves their vote of confidence well founded. She takes L-Corp to National City, and under her guidance it flourishes far beyond anything her brother ever could cultivate. There, she meets Kara, quickly finding it easy to connect to her warm smiles and gentle conversation. Finally, she starts to build the family she never had with the Umbrella Academy, or with the Luthors. Kara doesn't know. She senses a darkness in the secrets Lena holds, in the way she'll float past a question about her childhood or upbringing. But she doesn't push. She lets Lena be, and cherishes their friendship as it starts to deepen into something more... Until one morning she walks into Lena's office to find her best friend drinking at 11am. On the television, breaking news is scrolling across the screen. Metropolis Billionaire Reginald Hardgreaves Found Dead.

“You are enough”
CHAPTER 7 (part 2)
Tumblr media
And so the ceremony started. Ellie didn't leave her girlfriend even for a while – until a few of her aunts interfere. They claimed that since Ronnie is the youngest she would make a great job taking care of kids for a while when they will be chatting. The girl agreed and left them smiling at her girlfriend – who promised to join her soon. Little did Ellie know that the things were about spinning out of control.
Ronnie had never really liked spending time with children and there she was. Kind of trapped in the huge garden with a group of shouting little kids. At the very beginning everything was fine – they were enjoying themselves – doing the kids' things – and she was just watching, so that none of them can get hurt.
At the same time Ellie got stuck with the other women from the family. They were all mothers already and so they soon began to talk about having a family.
"So, Ellie" started one of them "Do you plan on getting married or something or is it just a kind of casual acquaintance?"
"She's my fiancee. And to be honest it was never just a casual acquaintance"
"Fiancee?"
"Yes. I proposed and she said yes" she smiled
"Oh my god! Really?" one of them exclaimed
"How long have you been together?" the other one asked
"Almost 2 years"
"And how did you two meet?"
"Well, she used to be my patient for a while"
"Wait. My child is being taken care of by a nut?" asked Lena
"And are going to have kids?" asked the other one at the same time
Ellie was confused
"I- Don't call her that! She's not a nut!"
Lena rolled her eyes at how protectively Ellie acted
"We... We talked about it, but we didn't decide yet"
"You should consider it. She's young and healthy. She can carry the baby. For now, but how long it will be like that?" Lena said as if she were an expert
"I'm not going to push her into anything. She doesn't like it"
"Sometimes you need to take the control over. Kind of put her in her place"
"I beg you pardon? What do you mean by this actually?"
Ronnie began to wonder what takes Ellie so long and why she still needs to look after the kids. She tried not to pay too much attention to how bratty they began to act, until one of them - a boy named Archie kicked the ball to the swimming pool.
"Fuck!" he yelled
"Watch your language" she reprimanded
The boy looked at her
"That's not what you told aunt Ellie when she was yelling fuck in the morning"
Ronnie stood there dumbfounded for a few seconds
"Aunt Ellie is a grown woman. She's allowed to use such words in particular situations"
"My mom never yells fuck"
"Well, maybe she doesn't have such situations with your dad"
"Like what do you mean?"
"Nothing. You'll find out when you're older"
"I want to know now"
"Archie, you're too little... We can talk about it when you're older. For now just go back and play with the rest"
"I won't until you tell me"
"I already said I won't. I don't like to repeat myself, so just do one!"
"I'll tell my mom!"
"Tell her what?"
"That you're not nice to me"
"I'm nice. Trust me, I can be worst than that"
"I want my ball back. Give it to me!"
"I'm not your servant. Ask me nicely and I'll think about it"
"Fuck you"
"Hey! Little..." she was about cursing, but bit her tongue "You'd better go back and play with the rest"
Archie huffed and ran towards the other boy who was holding his own ball. The boy tried to whip it off from him and when the other kid didn't let him, Archie jerked him with such force he fell down.
"Hey! Stop it!"
"Don't tell me what to do! You're not my mom!"
That was enough. Ronnie wasn't able to control herself any more
"You're lucky I'm not your mother. If I were you wouldn't even dare to act like a little arsehole you are!" she snapped at him
Archie looked at her. He already knew he won't get what he wanted with Ronnie, so he began to cry "Mommy!!!"
"Fuck..." she mumbled to herself seeing Lena walking towards them
"What happened sweetheart?"
"Ronnie is rude!"
"No! I just..."
"She didn't want to help me with pulling my ball out of water. And she said I'm stupid and called me an arsehole" he cried
"How dare you use such words with kids?! And how could you insult my son like that?! He's only a child!" "I did not! Oh my god... This is crazy"
"Crazy?! You're the one crazy thing here! I hope you won't have children, cause you will be a terrible mother!"
And suddenly there was a complete silence. Everyone was looking at them and waiting what will happen next. Ronnie got a load of all of them. They were staring at her as if she had killed someone. Her eyes met Ellie's – who just appeared at the backyard. She seemed to be furious and the girl freaked out. Ronnie walked into the house as soon as possible trying to hold her tears back.
"Are you satisfied?!" Ellie snapped at Lena "She did nothing to you and you little fucked up son. It's him! He always gets on everyone's nerves, but you don't see it. Or just pretend you don't. And you're the one who's a terrible mother! You not only can't reign over a 6 year old kid but also cannot control yourself! You're the one fucked up here!" and with this Ellie hurried to the house to find her girlfriend
_______________________-
"Ronney?" she knocked to the bathroom's door and would open them if the girl hadn't locked them from inside "Baby, open the door"
"Leave me alone!" she sniffled
"You know I won't" she sighed "Please, honey bun. Open. I want to see you"
"You saw enough"
"Ronney... She's a bitch and he is a spoiled brat"
Ellie didn't know what to do. She didn't know what to say, so as not to make the things even worst
"It wasn't my fault" she cried
"I know, baby"
"I didn't mean to... He was just..."
"I know. Open the door, Ronnie"
"She's right. I will be a terrible mother" she cried
"What? No! Ronnie, no. You won't. She's the one terrible here. Come on, open. I want to hug you"
"No. Ellie, please, just go away"
"I won't. I'm going to sit right here and wait until you open"
There was a long silence – no words were spoken and only some sniffles could be heard. Ronnie wanted to open. She wanted Ellie to hold her close, but was also afraid. She was sure Ellie thought the same as her aunts. She was terrified that she won't look at her the same way as she used to. That she would see a heartless woman not good enough to be a mother. Maybe not even wanting to be.
"Ronney? You don't have to open. Just... talk to me. Tell me what's bothering you, so I can fix it"
The girl took a deep breath
"I-I... What if..." she cried again; fresh tears streaming down her cheeks destroying her make up completely "She's right. I won't be a good mother. Not after all that happened. And I-I... Don't want to any more..."
"She is not. And she didn't have the right to judge you. She knows nothing. She doesn't know you the way I do. She doesn't know how carring and loving you are. She doesn't know how creative and talented you are. She doesn't know anything. And I think that if you will ever have a baby... that little creature will have the best mom ever. And he or she will be the luckiest kid in the world just like I'm the luckiest woman – having you"
And the sniffles stopped. Instead of them Ellie heard a click of the lock and then there was Ronnie – standing in the door. Her eyes were red and puffy and her makeup was smeared. She looked like a mess, but Ellie didn't care. She didn't pay attention to all of this. She only saw her precious girl.
"You aren’t mad at me?" she asked with shaking voice as Ellie approached her
"Why would I be?"
"I... I thought you think the same. And you don't want me any more, because I'm not good enough to... have kids"
"How could I ever think something like that?"
"I looked at you... And you were so furious. I could see it in your eyes"
"I was. I was furious, but not with you" she moved her hand towards the girl afraid that if she would do something more Ronnie may run away "Come here"
And she did. The girl let her girlfriend pull her closer and held her – still trembling – body.
"Shhh. It's okay. You're good" she said caressing the girl's back and hair in a soothing way "Shhh. Baby girl. There's no need to cry"
"I'm sorry"
"Don't be. You have nothing to be sorry for" she kissed her wet cheek
"I must look terrible right now"
"No... You look cute. Like a little panda" she chuckled
Ronnie smiled
"Here you are. That's my girl" she pecked her lips gently "Come on, let's get you cleaned and let's go back to the party. No bitch is going to spoil our fun tonight"
Ronnie nodded.

When they came back to the rest of the guests, Ellie didn't leave her until the end of the party. She was holding her close placing a soft and soothing kisses to the girl's forehead from time to time. She let her sit on her lap as they were watching how Ellie's cousin and his new wife were dancing together.
"She looks beautiful in those dress" Ronnie stated
"You will look way better in yours"
The girl looked at Ellie.
"What?" the older woman asked
"Nothing. Just... I love you"
"Oh, I love you too, princess"
"Do you think we can dance?"
"I..." she wanted to say that she doesn't dance, but those beautiful pleading eyes made here weak
"I mean, I know you don't dance. But I..."
"It will be my pleasure"
Ronnie smiled happily as she put her hands on the woman's hips.
"Just like I taught you. Move your hips" she instructed helping her to catch the rhythm
Luckily for Ellie it was one of the slow songs, so swaying was just enough – especially that Ronnie seemed to be exhausted.
They were dancing for a while, before Ronnie spoke up
"Ellie?"
The older woman hummed in response
"I think... I don't want to have kids"
"Ronney, she..."
"It's not because of her. I just don't want them now. Maybe in the future... But now I only want you"
And Ellie couldn't help, but hugged her tight
“I hate to interrupt” Robin and Stephanie stopped next to them “May I have this dance?” she offerend his daughter a hand
“I-” Ellie hesitated not wanting to leave her girlfriend
“Go” Ronnie smiled
“You sure?”
“Yes. Don’t worry, I won’t fight again”
“I’ll take care of her” Stephanie stated smiling friendly
Ellie looked at the woman, but say nothing. She seemed to get nervous around her. Ronnie knew about Ellie’s mother accident. The woman told her how she died and so on, but she never liked talking about her stepmother.
“How are you?” asked Stephanie as they were approaching the table
“I… I’m okay”
“I heard what has happened”
“Everyone did, probably”
“Don’t worry about it. Lena is just… herself. It’s hard to understand sometimes and she definitely doesn’t understand the women, who don’t want to have kids. For her only this matters”
“It’s not like I don’t want to have kids. Or maybe… I just don’t know any more”
“It’s okay not to want kids”
“You know… I think that maybe I want them, but I don’t feel like being pregnant. I had some eating disorders, you know. And I don’t think I can do this. I mean the woman’s body changes during and after the pregnancy… But I’m afraid to talk about it with Ellie. I don’t know why I’m telling it you. I barely know you”
“Well, sometimes it’s easier to talk with a stranger. And what’s you mother’s opinion? She definitely knows you better, so maybe she can help…”
“Actually, I don’t talk with her at all. She’s one of those toxic mothers, you know. So, it’s like I don’t have family at all” she smiled sadly
“Oh, I’m sorry”
At the same time, Ellie was dancing and talking with her father.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Tell you what?”
“That you… That you met someone”
“Dad… I just didn’t feel like…” she hesitated
“Visiting us? Calling?”
“I was busy”
“I bet you were. Look, I know you’re working a lot, but it would be nice to see you or at least hear your voice. I and Stephie”
Ellie rolled her eyes at the woman’s name
“We would like you to visit us tomorrow. We can have a dinner together or whatever you want”
“I don’t think it’s a good idea. Ronnie is already at the edge. One more incident and it may be too much”
“We’re inviting only the two of you and Michael and Amy. No Lena there”
“I-”
“I ask you for two hours only. Do you think you can give me at least a little bit of your precious time?”
“I’ll talk about it with Ronnie” she stopped moving “I should look for her” she smiled and left Robin there
The girl was still sitting with Stephanie. They talked a little bit more about work and life in general. Ronnie smiled seeing the psychiatrist approaching them.
“I’m tired. Shall we go to our room?” Ellie asked not looking in Stephanie's direction
“Of course” she stood up “Thanks for the talk. It was really nice”
“You’re welcome” the older woman smiled
_______________________
It was bothering Ellie since they came back to the room. What were they talking about? Ronnie seemed to enjoy the conversation and in general the presence of her stepmother.
“What were you chatting about?” she asked finally
“About various things. Work – she said she would like to see my paintings” she said excitedly
“Great” she said without enthusiasm
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing”
Ronnie arched her eyebrow questioningly
“You like her, don’t you?”
“She’s nice…” the girl shrugged “Why shouldn’t I like her?”
Ellie looked at the girl
“She’s my stepmother!”
“So what? She didn’t do anything wrong, did she?”
“She took my mother’s place!”
“Well…” she thought for a while “Maybe you should appreciate it. Just be happy that you have someone like Stephanie, who wants to act like your mom”
“I didn’t ask her to act like that. I didn’t want her to. I never did!”
It was hard for Ronnie to talk about such topics, so she got riled up quiet easily
“You, at least, have a good mother figure. You should respect it instead of making problems out of nothing!”
“So, I’m the bad one now?!”
“I didn’t say that” she sat on the bed “I just… I’ll do anything to have someone like Stephanie. Even if she would be my stepmom. Maybe it’s high time you appreciated it?!”
“Well, maybe you still need someone who will replace your mother, but I don’t! I’m capable of being on my own”
Ellie’s eyes widened with terror, as she realized what she just said. Ronnie said nothing. She only stood up before the woman could grab her hand
“Ronney… I-”
“I’ll take a walk” she said walking towards the door
“Baby?” she wanted to go after her
“Don’t! It’s enough for today. I need some fresh air”
“Ronnie I didn’t mean...”
The girl shook her head leaving the room.
Ronnie didn’t know where to go, so she simply went to the terrace. She smoked 2 cigarettes, before Stephanie appeared.
“What are you doing here? I thought you’re with Ellie in your room”
“Well” she shrugged “We argued”
“What happened?” she came closer
Ronnie looked at her. She barely managed to hold her tears back.
“Oh, I’m sorry. It’s not my business probably”
“No. It’s okay”
Stephanie smiled friendly
“I’ll bring you a blanket, so we can sit here and talk. If you want of course” the older woman said
Ronnie nodded. And after a while Stephanie was back with a fluffy material.
“Here you are, sweetheart”
“Thank you”
Stephanie only smiled making her way to the chairs and pointing at the girl to sit down too.
“Ellie is… an incredible person, but it’s hard to get to her sometimes”
“Yeah. It is” she agreed
“She acts like she doesn’t care, but she does”
“Yes, I know. You see, I tried to get to her many times. I wanted… I don’t know. Just I treat her as if she were my own child, even though I know she hates me for some reason…”
“She thinks you wanted to  replace her mother”
“I… I did not. I have never wanted it. I knew I won’t be able to replace Amanda – I’m nothing like her. But I  hoped that maybe we could at least befriend. You know, it’s good to have someone…”
“Yes. I know, but she doesn’t understand how it is when you have to be on your own for the whole time. And she probably thinks it’s stupid that I want such person…” she wiped her cheek, as she could feel the tears escaping her eyes
“She doesn’t. She loves you”
“But she said so”
“What? What do you mean?” she offered her hand to the girl and Ronnie gladly took it
“That I’m not capable of being on my own. That I cannot take care of myself and so on… But you know, I’m just tired of it. I had to do this for my whole life. I love her. I really do, but it hurt”
“Oh, sweetheart, I’m sure she didn’t mean it. She was probably nervous and wasn’t thinking about what she’s saying”
“Yeah… It is probably too much for the one night. First, Lena almost called me a monster and said I will never be a good mother and now Ellie”
“I don’t know you good enough, but I’m sure you’ll be a great mother one day. You’re caring and full of love that you’re eager to give to someone”
“But I don’t know if I want it”
“You’re young. You have a lot of time to think about it. And if you won’t want to carry the baby, you can always think about adoption. Ellie has never wanted to talk to me, so I’m not experienced when it comes to such conversations. But it’s okay to not being sure about something. It’s okay to have doubts. We’re all only humans – we all make mistakes”
As the door shut Ellie broke down. She was devastated – not only because of a painful memories, but because she hurt the most important person in her life. She did it in the worst of possible ways and couldn’t get over it. She cried for some time and when the tears didn’t want to fall any more she was just laying in bed. She was thinking. Recalling everything that Ronnie said. Maybe she was right. She definitely was – of course. Ronnie was younger, but was probably one of the most intelligent people Ellie knew. The woman sometimes wondered how it could be – that she knows so much. That she knows what to say, how to act in certain situations – when even she – the great psychiatrist didn’t.
She began to think of Stephanie – how she was always there for her, but she was too stubborn to appreciate it. It hit her all at once and she felt terrible.
She was brought back from her thoughts by a light knock to the door. Ellie stood up slowly and opened. It was Stephanie
“Hi” the older woman smiled “I just want to tell you that Ronnie fell asleep on the couch. So, don’t worry about her. She’s… well, hurt, but safe” she smiled and wanted to leave
“Wait” Ellie stopped her
“What is it?”
“Thank you”
“Not for what” she smiled “But you should apologise to her – whatever happen. It doesn’t matter whose fault it was. Just apologise and tell her you love her. She deserves it”
Ellie moved to the woman and surprised her with a hug
“Thank you for everything” she said
Stephanie didn’t know how to act at first, but soon she hugged her back.
“I’m sorry” Ellie sobbed
“Shhh. Don’t cry. It’s okay”
“D-do you think I can go to her now?”
“I think you can”
“Thanks” she pulled away wiping her tears and chuckling a bit embarrassed with the whole situation
_______________
“Hey” Ellie whispered kneeling in front of the sleeping girl
Ronnie opened her eyes slowly
“I…” she wanted to say something
“No, no. It’s my fault. You were right about everything. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean that. It didn’t come out properly. I know you are able to be on your own, but you don’t have to. I don’t want you to. I want you to rely on me, always. No matter what happens. I love you.”
“I love you too”
At this Ellie kissed her.
“Will you come back to bed with me? I cannot sleep without you by my side”
“I will” she hugged her
The psychiatrist smiled and lifted her almost effortlessly. Ellie carried her to their room and made sure the girl slept as close as possible to her that night.

WOAH BRAINY!
SPOILERS! If you haven’t seen today’s episode of Supergirl S04 E21, scroll past this post now!
I need to preface a few things before I dive in with today’s episode.
1. I don’t hate James. I loved him in season 1, hated him in season 2 because he was talking smack about Lena and then come season 3, they are together? What shit writing is this? (I’m all for an interracial relationship, like go for it man, we need more of it on TV)
2. James & Harun-El, so that his Guardian character still has something to live on for? Look, it’s ok if it was decent writing, but honestly, this felt like it was just to give him screen time because they didn’t what to do with James. Please stop giving him shit storylines. James deserves better.
OK, now for today’s episode!
1. I’m happy that Alex got her memories back. Which means we are back to Lena being the only one who doesn’t know Kara is Supergirl (there are some theories that she already knows) Very thankful that Alex didn’t go insane as what J’onn said might it might happen.
Also, somewhat happy that Col. Haley is not a pain in the arse, compared to the first few episodes
2. Brainy’s reset. Ok, if he turns evil, does this mean the legion has to come back and whoop his ass, do we see Mon-El again?
Tumblr media
Also, can we give Jesse Rath a standing ovation? His acting was ON POINT!
Can I also add on that, I’d really like to be kept in the dark for season 5? I don’t want to know who is the big bad, I don’t want to know who is leaving. I just, want to enjoy TV the same way I did before spoilers were a thing. *cries*
 3. Harun-El Extraction. If this works, we say bye to Ben Lockwood right? Nice to see him figure things out that he was somewhat working for Lex without knowing and sorta being on right side of things? eh, still got 1 episode to go. I will be honest with you, I didn’t bother watching the whole of season 4 up till episode 18 I think, mainly because I was annoyed at the whole Children of Liberty storyline.
4. Lillian and the truth seeker.
Tumblr media
Also, Lillian telling Lena, she loves her
Tumblr media
5. So, Red Daughter aka Rara is dead? so they built up that whole Arc so that Lex could kill her and be this superhero?
Tumblr media
Please hit me up in the comments, I would love to have a discussion with you about this :)

Abby and co are still whining about who was or wasn’t at the wedding. It was months ago, get over it! Just because Mandy Moore didn’t go to Darren’s wedding it doesn’t mean it was fake. 🙄
Anonymous said: Why the fuck would Mandy Moore have been at Darren's wedding? There is no evidence that they are close friends. They gushed all over each other when they did that interview but that's it. They're both in Midway but from what we've seen it doesn't look like they ever even filmed together. Just bc Darren fanboys over a person doesn't mean he's going to invite them to his wedding. They need to get a grip on reality.
It’s hilarious that I referred to Abby’s ridiculous insistence that the wedding guests weren’t Darren’s “real friends” simply to make a point the other day and now the ccers are once again fully engaged on this pointless debate.
Anonymous asked:
There were several friends of D’s absent from the wedding. Hai/lee, Alli/son Will/iams, Luc/y Hale, Sar/ah Hy/land, Al/an Cum/ming, I could go on. The only friends present outside of D’s closest G/lee friends, clearly there for moral support, were the Starshits and that’s bc they support M. Literally no one at the wedding was someone who D was friends with independently outside of that select group of former cast members. Says a lot.
Anon. The wedding and everything about speaks volumes. From who was there. Who wasn’t. The fact that they made a shit ton on ads. The paps before the wedding. the fact that we’ve practically seen the entire thing from self proclaimed private couple. Who was there but didn’t really participate. No original song. Lack of officiant. Marriage in a state were licenses aren’t not accessible. Mocking of fandom. D not bothering to shave, wearing a wrinkled suit. D ignoring her and failing to help as she maneuvered that monstrosity into the car. Etc etc etc.
Nothing in her answer is true- it’s all lies and misconstrued BS. However, I’m only addressing the guest-list trope.
Anonymous asked:Another gem, mandy m whom darren GUSHES about and loves dearly was also not present at the sham wed
No one that i would consider a close Hollywood friend outside of the G/lee peeps was present. No one. But people accept it and make excuses.
Abby clearly believes she knows everything about Darren’s personal life from stalking him on social media. She believes that social media gives her an accurate, comprehensive understanding of his private life and access to his feelings. She believes she knows where he is, what he is doing, how he feels, what is important to him, and who is important to him simply from publicly available pictures and videos. She largely ignores what he says in interviews since it overwhelmingly contradict what she imagines she knows from stalking social media.
Trying to “read” a social media photo is that all you can learn is what is verifiable- who is in the photo, what they wearing, maybe where they are, and what they are physically doing. Assuming anything about feelings, backstory, or emotions is how you end up making an ass out of you and sumption. Almost all of the photos and videos of Darren that we see - the ones Abby uses to “understand” Darren- are publicity photos used to promote something- he’s at an event, on the red carpet, promoting his own project, promoting a friends’ project, taking a cast photo at a show he attended, or #ad. This is what actors in Hollywood do, but Abby refuses to acknowledge that the vast majority of Darren pics and mentions are work related and not a diary of his full life and even during a busy week of heavy promotion, we see only a small percentage of his work day.
I have no doubt that Darren adores Allison Williams and Mandy Moore but they aren’t the kind of friends you invite to a 200-300 guest wedding. Darren is actually a private person, he isn’t doing to go on social media to lay out his feelings about someone who really means a lot to him. He doesn’t share those kinds of feelings with the world, those are special feelings he keeps private.
The group of people listed today: Hailee Seinfeld, Lucy Hale, Sarah Hyland and Alan Cumming were all former coworkers of his which means there were PR photos posted to social media. This is why Abby believes these people are his “best friends”. I don’t see any evidence that these people are close enough to be invited to his 200-300 guest wedding.  It is also possible that he did invite a few of those people and they simply weren’t able to come. He isn’t the kind of person to share that with his fans..
He did tell Allison Williams when they were both on James Cordon “I adore you” but it doesn’t look like he was at her 2015 wedding:
PEOPLE has learned that the wedding took place at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, and among the 150-200 guests included Williams’ Girlsco-stars Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, as well as pals Katy Perry, John Mayer, Barry Diller, Diane Von Furstenberg, Bruce Springsteen and Late Night‘s Seth Meyers.
A source tells PEOPLE that Tom Hanks officiated and that Brian Williamswalked his daughter down the aisle.
Three things that are off topic- 1. Tom Hanks officiated! How cool is that? 2.  Two days ago they announced that they are  getting divorced and 3. She wore an Oscar De La Renta couture gown that looks exactly like my gown which was a made by a seamstress based on a photo of an Oscar De La Renta that I could never afford. It’s crazy how similar the 2 dresses are- minus the couture and 20 years. Mine only had lace on the bust and I didn’t have that gorgeous veil.  My skirt was dupioni silk.
Tumblr media
None of the people that Abby claims are Darren’s true friends-the ACS cast, the Glee cast (minus Chord, Harry, Lea and. Max who did attend), Lucy, Allison, Sarah, Alan and Mandy- are people he is particularly close to and that makes it easier for her to think about. Abby is full of jealous rage over the people Darren really loves- Ben, the StarKids, Ricky, and Ashley. She cannot stand those people because they have the relationship with Darren that she wants but can’t have. She deludes herself that social media gives her access to his personal feelings and then lies to the fandom about his relationships. Darren doesn’t share vulnerable feelings on social media or in interviews but he does tell use that these people are “like family” or “one of my best friends”. Are you paying attention, Abby? Are you listening?

A Luthor and A Super Ch. 10
Ch.1/Ch.2/Ch.3/Ch.4/Ch.5/Ch.6/Ch.7/Ch.8/Ch.9
Kara sighed as she stirred slowly the next morning, hearing a pounding on the front door of the penthouse. She grumbled and got up, grabbing one of Lena’s shirts and pulling it on before hopping in a pair of shorts and x-raying the door. “Alex?” she mumbled, making her way out and opening the door. “Alex? What are you doing here?”
“Tracking your ass down,” Alex said, brushing past her sister. “Where were you last night? After you left the DEO?”
“I was here,” Kara said. “I left the DEO and I went to LCorp to surprise Lena. Eve came in and we went to the lab where Lena told me about some experiments she’d been doing because a heart she’d been testing Harun-El on was stolen by Manchester. We opened the vault and I got hit with Kryptonite, and we found out it was Lex’s. We left there and I was here the rest of the night. Lena’s naked and asleep if you want me to wake her up so you can hear it from her.”
Alex’s face blanched and she narrowed her eyes. “No. It was bad enough when you broke her fingers during—ugh. The reason I’m asking is because the President is dead. Oval Office CCTV showed Supergirl roasting him with Heat Vision. Colonel Haley was there as well, and she’s dead too. Several other members of Government were injured.”
Kara’s eyes got wide. “Alex, I swear that wasn’t me!” she said, stumbling back and sitting down at the bar beside the kitchen. “I was here with Lena all night. I swear to Rao that wasn’t me!” Her hands clenched as she looked down, fighting back tears.
Alex wrapped her arms around Kara, kissing her head softly. “I know it wasn’t you, honey. I had to ask anyway. I’ve got some big Government people breathing down my neck for answers,” she said.
Kara nodded softly, looking over and seeing Lena walking out of the bedroom, a robe covering her up with just the quickest flash of purple lace panties, a fact that made Kara lick her lips softly. “Hi, babe,” she said.
“Mm…morning,” Lena yawned, walking over and wrapping her arm around Kara’s shoulders, kissing her cheek. “Woke up and you weren’t there.”
“Sorry, Lena. That’s my fault,” Alex said, explaining about what happened to the White House. “Basically everything’s gone to hell.”
“I would bet that Lex has something to do with this,” Lena said. “He has to. He hates anything and anyone Kryptonian.” She sighed and moved around the bar, setting a tea kettle on the stove. “Alex, we’ve got something we have to do this morning, but we’ll come by the DEO when we’re done, get this sorted out.”
Alex nodded, sighing softly. “Alright.” She kissed Kara’s cheek, reaching over and squeezing Lena’s hand. “I’ll see you soon.” She walked out and shut the door, sighing softly and shaking her head. “This isn’t going to be good…”
Kara sighed, shaking her head as she got up. “First Lex is loose, Manchester steals the Harun-El heart, and then Lockwood and James, and now this bullshit. What the fuck is going on?!”
Lena walked over, wrapping her arms around Kara’s waist and hugging her tightly. “Hey. Don’t stress. We’re going to fix all of this, and we’ll do it together. Alright? It’s what we do, baby. We’ll start with Lex’s Kryptonite, and we’ll go from there. When this is all over, we’ll celebrate and have fun until the next crisis.”
Kara nodded, leaning back against Lena and sighing softly. “Yeah. Which, for us, might just be next week,” she said. “I’m going to get dressed and I’ll go get Cisco.” She turned and kissed Lena’s cheek softly, walking off to the bedroom again and sighing as she rubbed her arms softly, more out of nerves then cold. She dressed in her usual cardigan and skirt, making her way back out. “I’ll meet you at the Lab, Lee.”
Lena set her tea down and walked over, putting her hands against Kara’s cheeks before leaning in and kissing her girlfriend. “I love you so much. Please don’t let this bother you,” she whispered.
Kissing Lena in return, the blonde nodded softly. “Easier said then done, but I’ll try.” She smiled a bit, turning her head and kissing Lena’s palm before she grabbed her bag and walked out of the apartment. She hit the elevator and walked out of the building before she headed into the alley and hit the breach device.
The second breach opened in S.T.A.R. Labs on Earth-1, and Kara looked around, biting her lip softly. “Hello? Cisco? Caitlin? Barry?” she called, starting to walk around. “Hello!! Anyone here?” She turned a corner and yelped as she came face to face with Caitlin Snow, the bio-engineer screaming at the same time. “Caitlin!”
“Kara!” Caitlin said, putting her hand on her chest and sighing. “What are you doing here?! You scared the hell out of me!”
“Sorry!” Kara said with a smile, hugging Caitlin. “I’m looking for Cisco. Where’s he at?” As she asked her question, the man in question walked up behind Caitlin, grinning as he saw Kara. “Cisco!”
“Hey, girl,” Cisco said with a grin. “What do you need? Is something wrong? Someone trying to rewrite reality again or is it Dominators?”
Kara smiled and shook her head. “No, nothing that dangerous. I…need your help. My girlfriend, Lena Luthor, her brother just got out of jail and stashed a lot of Kryptonite in LCorp, and we need to get rid of it. Could you--?”
“I can gather it and breach it to a dead world,” Cisco said. “Or I can breach it right there in the lab.” He smiled and led Kara and Caitlin deeper into the Lab, grabbing his gauntlets and glasses. “I’m ready whenever you are.” He turned to Caitlin. “Do me a favor. If Barry asks where I am, tell him and that I’ll be back to help with Nora soon.”
“Got it,” Caitlin said with a smile and a nod.
 “Who’s Nora?” Kara asked.
“Remember the water girl from Barry and Iris’ wedding? The one that was like…the Energizer Bunny on Red Bull and a sugar high?” Caitlin asked. “That’s Nora West-Allen. Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future.”
 “Wicked!”
“No, not really,” Cisco said. “She’s…kind of gone bad after we found out she was working with Eobard Thawne.”
“That asshole Reverse Flash?!” Kara asked with wide eyes.
“Yep,” Cisco said, tossing his hand out and opening the breach. “Fill you in later. I’ll be back quick, Cait.”
“Got it,” Caitlin said with a smile, watching Cisco and Kara step through the breach back to Earth-38.
The next day, after saying goodbye to Cisco and giving Lena a tour of Earth-1, Kara stood with Lena outside of LCorp, James Olsen in front of them in full Guardian gear with a dozen Children of Liberty members behind him. Kara folded her arms, narrowing her eyes while Lena clenched her hands around the straps of her bag, fully intending on beating the hell out of her ex-boyfriend if she had to.
“Two minutes, James. Talk fast,” Lena growled. “Why did you out Kara to the entire world on live television?”
James scoffed, rolling his eyes. “I don’t answer to you, Luthor. Not anymore. But, since you’re being so demanding, just like you always are, it’s because of jealousy. You two got so disgustingly close after she told you the truth and you got drunk and sent bullshit texts and voicemails, and I couldn’t stand it. If I couldn’t have you, I’d take away what was important.”
Lena dropped her bag and lashed out, slamming her fist into James’ face, making him stumble back before she clawed at him, scratching his cheek and neck. “You son of a bitch!” she snarled, trying to lunge for him again only to be stopped by Kara holding her back. “Let go of me, Kara! I’m going to rip his throat out with my teeth! He’ll gargle in his own blood as he dies! Fucking let me go!”
“No!” Kara snapped, holding Lena back. “As much as you want to break his head open, you can’t. You’ve proven to be better then this, Lena. He’ll get his soon enough when the Children of Liberty are finished. Lockwood can’t hold power forever.”
James laughed, rubbing his cheek and wiping the blood away. “That’s where you’re wrong. He’ll have all the power he needs and it’s thanks to your friend Manchester.” He turned and started walking away, stopping when Superman landed in front of him, separating him from the other Children of Liberty. “Oh, hell.”
“James,” Clark said as he folded his arms. “You’re coming with me. We’re going to have a long talk, and it’s best if your “friends” behind me just drop their weapons and walk away. If they don’t, all thirteen of you are going to jail.” He cocked an eyebrow and smiled. “What’s it going to be, James?”
“Put them down. Weapons, masks, shields. Go home,” James said, looking at the men. As they walked away, James narrowed his eyes. “You won’t get away with stopping me, Clark. Lockwood’s got more then just fanatics on his side.”
“I don’t care about Lockwood. I care about my friend betraying someone that he should have been protecting,” Clark said, grabbing James’ arm. “We’re going to have a long discussion about this, James. You won’t like how it ends.” He lifted up and looked at Kara. “I’ll deal with him. You stop Lex, Manchester, and Lockwood.”
Kara nodded, still refusing to let go of a struggling Lena. “You got it. They’ll be stopped today and hopefully that’s the end of it.” She watched Clark take off with James, and she looked at Lena. “You gonna stop fighting?”
Lena huffed, going limp in Kara’s arms as she got set back on the ground. “Damn you,” she said, glaring at Kara. “Why did you stop me?!”
“Because it’s the right thing to do,” Kara said, frowning softly. “I’m sorry, Lena, but Clark taking him was the right thing. As much as we both wanted to rip his spine out.”
“And beat him with it,” Lena growled, her hands clenched. She sighed and looked away, picking her bag up softly. “Find J’onn. Deal with Manchester. I’ll help Alex find Lockwood and Lex.” She walked off, getting in her car and taking off.
“Lena,” Kara sighed, floating up and heading for J’onns office. She landed outside and smiled softly as she touched the plaque on the doorframe. Walking in, she looked around and bit her lip. “J’onn?”
J’onn walked out from the back of the office, smiling softly. “Kara. What can I do for you?”
“I need to know where Manchester is. I’m putting an end to this,” Kara said.
J’onn got quiet, sitting down at his desk. “Sit.” When Kara did, he sighed softly and bit his lip. “Manchester’s dead. I confronted him at the dam a few nights ago and he tried to taunt me into killing him. Unfortunately, he was using the Staff of H'ronmeer, and when I got it back from him, he tried to attack me again. I…used the Staff and killed him. I’m sorry, Kara. I…” He sighed and put his head in his hands, looking down and feeling ashamed.
Kara got up and put her hand on J’onn’s shoulder before she leaned in and hugged him tightly. “It’s alright, J’onn. You did what you had to,” she whispered. “Did…he say anything about having a heart that he took from LCorp?”
J’onn sighed, trying to think. “He mentioned working on something big to give to Lex Luthor. Said “It’s the thing to beat Supergirl once and for all.” It could be what he was talking about. Why?”
“Lena went to Alex to start looking for Lex and Lockwood, and I’ll need all the help I can get to stop them both today. If Lex has that heart, there’s no telling what he’d do with it,” Kara said. She looked over as J’onn’s phone went off, and she watched him pick up.
“Text from Alex. She’s got eyes on Lex and Lockwood. They’re in the DEO,” J’onn said. “Demanding you show up and surrender.”
“Let’s go,” Kara said, looking at J’onn. “You have to help me, J’onn. I can’t do this without you this time.” She stood back and bit her lip, hoping he’d help. She grinned when he stood up and shifted into his Martian Manhunter look. “Let’s go.” She took off and ran out of the office, leaping into the air and hearing J’onn behind her.
Alex narrowed her eyes, gun in hand as she pointed it at Lex and Lockwood. “You two get the hell out of my Agency now. Otherwise you’re both under arrest.”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Danvers. I’m afraid you don’t have the authority to arrest me,” Lex said with a smile. “Considering who I have with me. Miss Tessmacher!” He turned and smiled as Eve walked in with a surprising figure beside her.
“Kara?” Alex asked, her eyes wide. “No, you’re not my sister. You just look like her.”
“Funny how that happened,” Lex said. “You see, last year when she stopped Ms. Arias, the Harun-El split your sister into two distinct people. Kara Danvers, and my Red Daughter. She’s the one that killed the President, Ms. Danvers. So, you see, having my own Kryptonian to help discredit your sister has worked perfectly. There’s anti-Supergirl sentiment in Washington at the moment because of this.”
Alex lowered her gun softly, looking at the Kryptonian in front of her. “Listen to me. Lex is using you to hurt people. You don’t have to do this. He’s manipulating you.”
The Red Daughter just shook her head. “That is where you are wrong,” she said with a Russian accent. “Alex has proven to me that Americans are the problem. You are all what is wrong with the world.”
“I’m Alex,” Alex said, stepping forward. “That’s Lex Luthor. He’s the bad guy.”
“Listen to her, honey,” Lena said, walking out of the lab and looking at the gathered group. “He manipulated me my entire life, he’s orchestrated a hundred different events to get to this point, and when he’s done with you, he’ll throw you out like a piece of trash. He isn’t the man you think he is.”
“Shut it, Luthor,” Lockwood said, turning and shooting Lena, dropping her to the ground. “Anyone that fucks an alien deserves the same thing the leeches get.”
“Lena!” two Kara’s voices yelled at the same time.
A gust of wind ripped through the DEO as Kara knelt beside Lena, helping her sit up softly. “Lena, are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” Lena said with a smile. “Got the shoulder. Stop them.”
Kara lifted Lena up, taking her back into the lab. “Stay here.” She walked back out, narrowing her eyes. “I figured the Harun-El would have had a side effect on me, but I didn’t think it’d be like this.” Her expression softened, and she folded her hands in front of her. “You don’t have to stand with Lex. He’ll only hurt you. You reacted the same way I do when something happens to Lena. That means something.”
“Don’t let her manipulate you,” Lex said. “This is what you’ve trained for. Kill her and rid the world of her.” He turned to face the Red Daughter. “Do what I’m telling you! Now!”
Shaking her head, the Red Daughter stepped away from Lex. “No. I will not hurt her. I…I do not want to hurt her.”
Lex sighed, shaking his head softly as he pulled a gun out of his pocket. “A damn shame. She could have ripped this planet apart without a second thought.” He aimed and fired at the Red Daughter, a Kryptonite bullet entering her back and sending her toppling to the ground.
Alex rushed over and put pressure on the wound, her hands shaking. “BRAINY!” she yelled.
“NO!” Kara snapped, rushing Lex and ripping the gun out of his hand before throwing it away, pinning Lex to the wall and tightening her grip around his throat. “I could snap your neck in an instant!”
“Then do it!” Lex laughed, holding his hands up. “Do it then, Danvers. Prove to everyone that you’re not as wholesome as they think you are!”
Kara’s hand tightened around Lex’s throat, and she felt his pulse under her fingers, feeling how quick it was. Her eyes lit with her head vision and she growled low in her throat before she slammed Lex into the ground, letting go of his throat and stepping back. “I won’t kill you. As much as I goddamned want to, I won’t. I won’t become the murderer people think I am.” She backed off and walked over to Alex, kneeling beside her clone.
Lex coughed and got up, seeing the Kryptonite gun. He grabbed it and pointed it at Kara before another shot rang out, looking down and seeing blood on his shirt. He hit his knees as the gun dropped from his hand, looking behind him at Lockwood. “Helping them, Lockwood?” he asked, coughing as he collapsed backward.
“Yes,” Lockwood said, tossing his gun down before pulling his Agent Liberty mask off and letting it thunk on the floor of the DEO. “Seeing two Supergirls both care for one human, seeing the compassion in her eyes…I realize I was wrong.” He unstrapped the ballistics vest he wore, tossing it down before getting on his knees and putting his hands behind his head. “The Children of Liberty are done. Aliens are as much people as we are.”
J’onn walked over and handcuffed Lockwood, pushing him over to another agent. “Lock him up.”
Kara kept pressure against the wound softly, watching Alex dig out the Kryptonite bullet. She winced at the sight of the Kryptonite, feeling Alex clean the wound before starting to stitch it up. “You’re going to be ok. Alex is the best, and we’ll get you fixed up.”
The Red Daughter nodded softly, wincing as she felt Alex stitching her back. “I am so sorry. I…I should have seen that Alex—no, Lex was the bad one. I am so sorry, Supergirl.”
Kara smiled, moving her clone’s hair out of her face softly. “Call me Kara. We are twins after all. Do you have a name?”
She shook her head. “I was always called “The thing” or “Girl”. Never gave me a name. I cannot be Kara Danvers.”
Kara nodded softly, helping her sit up after Alex was done before helping her to her feet. “We’ll have time to work on that. Let Alex get you to the medical lab and I’ll be right there with Lena.” She hugged the Red Daughter, smiling softly. “You can be a hero in your own right. There’s times I can’t do it, so it’ll be good to have help.”
Alex smiled softly, taking her sister’s clone deeper into the DEO to finish patching her up, both women starting to talk to each other.
Lena walked out of the lab again, holding a stack of gauze to her shoulder before making her way to Kara. She took her girlfriend’s hand softly, kissing her knuckles. “Are you alright?”
Kara nodded softly, squeezing Lena’s hand softly. “Yeah,” she said. “Lena, about earlier—”
“Stop,” Lena said. “I’m sorry about that. I…I had no right to get angry at you. You stopped me before I did something I’d regret, and I got mad about it. It’s my fault and I’m sorry, baby.” She leaned up and kissed Kara’s cheek before her eyes landed on Lex. “Is he--?”
Kara nodded softly. “Lockwood shot him in the back and surrendered,” Kara said. “He shot the Red Daughter when she wouldn’t kill me, and he tried to shoot me when I put him in the floor. Alex has her in medical. She doesn’t have a name, but it’s something she’ll figure out on her own.” She sighed softly, pressing her hands to her eyes. “Manchester’s dead. J’onn got to him. He said Lex had the Harun-El heart, but if Lex had it, he’d have used it on himself. I don’t…know where the heart is, honey.”
Lena smiled softly. “Maybe that’s for the best. Harun-El was a bad experiment anyway.” She put her hand on Kara’s cheek, brushing her thumb over her skin softly. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
“I don’t know,” Kara whispered, sitting down and sighing softly. “I’m tired. Kryptonite, Lex, Lockwood, James, the Harun-El clone of myself, Haley…I’m tired. I don’t think I want to Supergirl for a while. I…I think I need a break.”
Lena nodded, sitting in Kara’s lap and kissing her cheek. “Then we’ll take a break. We’ll go on vacation. Anywhere you want to go.”
Kara smiled softly and nodded, giving Lena a squeeze. “Right now, we need to go to the medical lab and get that shoulder taken care of. I will not have you bleed out in my lap, Luthor.”
“Yes, Danvers,” Lena said with a grin. She got up and smiled when Kara took her hand, the pair walking down the hall where Alex was with the Red Daughter.
“What do you think of “Karen” as a name, Alex?” she asked, biting her lip as she looked back at Alex.
“Karen. Karen Danvers. Hm…I like it,” Alex said with a smile. “Suits you.”
Kara walked in and smiled softly. “I love it. Kara, Karen, and Alex Danvers,” she said. “We’re the three biggest badasses.”
“Excuse me? I’m here too, you ass,” Lena said, shoving Kara and sticking her tongue out.
“Well…you’re not officially a Danvers yet, Lena,” Alex said, taping gauze down onto Karen’s wound and helping lower the shirt down. “What’s rule number one, Kara?”
“Don’t screw with the Danvers sisters!” Kara laughed, causing Lena, Alex, and Karen to start laughing as well.
Lena smiled softly, closing her eyes as she felt Kara working on her bullet wound. With her brother dead and the Children of Liberty hopefully never coming back, she knew that she and Kara could finally be happy and get on with their lives. If anyone had told her six months ago that she’d be sitting with her girlfriend and her clone after being told her best friend was Supergirl, she’d have thought they were crazy. For once, she was glad she wasn’t because she finally had the support and love she always wanted, and it was all thanks to Kara.

Supergirls identity
So Jonn has erased all the minds of all the DEO agents that knew supergirls identity and Alex's mind to (we're just going to have to forget Kara has been to the DEO as Kara A LOT and pretty much everyone should know, including Pam from HR.) But what about James Olsen? COL Haleys mission is to find out Supergirls identity, she isn't likely to give up because she didn't get results at the DEO. Her next local step would be 'who else associates with supergirl that we know of and could possibly know her identify?) *cough* Has anyone caught on yet? James Olsen is the next logical step! He is openly Supermans best friend, he is known to be friends with supergirl. He outed himself as The Guardian, a vigilante who has fought crime with supergirl. Even though he doesn't work for the DEO he has been seen there multiple times, checking on Kara, getting medical care and just walzing in so Winn could show him his Guardian outfit.
Col Haley would only have to think outside the DEO, if the President wants to know who can she ask? Hang on who would be in touch with the President and has DEO ties? General Lane of course! One ask and he would be like 'you should speak to James Olsen, my daughters ex is Superman bestie and allies himself with special people to be special (no James hate, but that was Lanes opinion in the Red Tornado ep). Or who else could know? Well Winn is in the future so that's out, Jonn would never let anyone near his mind or go back to the DEO. What about the woman who worked for the last alien president and the one who launched supergirl? Cat Grant! Probably easily located. Or even Lucy Lane? But why bother with any of them when the logical person who would know is in the same city as you and you can literally jump in a car and go see him?
What about Alex now? Does she have a reason not to help Haley on her mission? Supergirls identify as far as she is concerned no longer effects her or the people she loves.
Col Haley 'who could know Supergirls identity?'
Alex 'let me have a think on it'
Goes out for drinks with Kara, Jonn, Nia, Brainy, Lena and James. Looks at them all one by one and thinks.
Kara "hahaha as if Kara would know who supergirl is! Silly Alex!'
Jonn "asked him, says he doesn't know, would never get him to the DEO anyway"
Nia "no reason she should know"
Brainy "already questioned by Haley, doesn't know"
Lena "why on earth would Supergirl tell Lena Luthor who she is? I know they've worked together but they're not that close"
Alex muses "who else could know?....."
James sat right in her face, talks about superman, talks about working with Supergirl, waves his hands in the hair, does star jumps, anything to get her attention.
Alex "Nope! I can't think of anyone else who could know!'
In conclusion, Jonn should really have erased James mind to. One trip to the DEO (and it wouldn't be hard to get permission to bring him in, the only reason he isn't in prison is because Lena saved his ass) and both Superman and Supergirls identities are out.
Kara "err Kal El, you may want to stay on Argo since me and the gang royaly messed up by erasing everyone's memories but the most obvious one outside the DEO and I'm now stuck as a government pawn."
Kal El *face palms*.
(Again no James Olsen hate, he just seems like the main one other than Alex and rhe other agents they should have considered )

Lexie (Five-Inch Heels) - “I’m Lexie,” she says, and it’s clearly a fake name but that doesn’t bother Maggie. She’ll only need to know a legal name if this girl ever gets booked and Maggie has to intervene. She hopes it never comes up.
“Nice to meet you, Lexie.”
Lexie just stares at her, and Maggie can’t tell if she’s smirking of if it’s a trick of the light.
“Sure it is,” she finally says, and oh, yes, she was smirking.
Maggie decides to forgo delicate, and asks her next question bluntly, her hands back in her pockets. “What brings you out tonight?”

by Lurkz -
I Just Want To Change My Future - Maggie was just hoping to finally have a stable enough job that allowed her to continue helping aliens and maybe finally meet someone who would decide she was worth sticking with. She wasn’t really expecting her new job to involve suspicious acting scientists that happened to be related to her new boss’s girlfriend.
All Alex wanted to do was work in her lab, finish this pseudo-undercover duty at L-Corp, destroy Cadmus, and find her father. She didn’t have time for nosy ex-detective security chiefs. (incomplete/still being updated. 16/? chapters, 77k words)

An AU where Kara tries to get Alex to start dating again with an unusual plan, and Maggie is a pizza delivery girl (complete - 4 chapters, 35k words)
by adieu_sweetamaryllis -
communion - Four years — she’d made it four years without having Maggie Sawyer in a single class of hers despite them both going to the same school. If she hadn’t seen her once or twice across campus she would’ve thought the girl never actually ended up attending National City University, despite both of them getting acceptance letters a few weeks before — well, before everything went up in flames. (incomplete - 18/21 chapters, 126k words)
by DisplacedWarrior -
I would move mountains to make you smile - Alex was just looking for a way to handle her giant crush without talking about it, she had no idea creating an anonymous Instagram account for her cheesy sapphic poetry would cause this much of a stir.  It has half the school starry-eyed but what about the one girl it was intended for?  (complete 1 chapter, 10k words)
by swanmills -
let me be your goodnight - alex meets an annoying new agent in the batch of this year’s trainees. alternate meeting au  (complete, 1 chapter, 4k words)
handfuls of other short/sweet oneshots by this author
and because I’m a masochist who is branching out into being a sadist, I’m going to recommend a very much incomplete story that I doubt will ever be finished but I reread it often and bemoan that it’s incomplete because it was SO GOOD and I want to drag everyone else down memory lane with me
wildfire -  Alex has seen beautiful women before, her sister is one of them, but not one has ever taken her breath away so quickly it felt like she was being knocked over.  Maybe it was simply the shock of seeing another person here when the school had seemed so desolate.  Or maybe, maybe, it was because that was the most beautiful woman that Alex has ever seen.or the one where alex teaches chemistry, maggie teaches history, and they teach each other a little something about falling in love (so incomplete. 3/? chapters, 25k words)
by lordvoldyfarts, who also has several shorter oneshots that I adore
moving on!
General Danvers: (Alex Danvers/Astra In-Ze - Supergirl)
Sword of Damocles - Canon divergent from 1x13: When Hank shows up on the rooftop to stop Astra from activating Myriad, Astra manages to outmaneuver him, taking Alex hostage as a means of escape. Now, Alex finds herself a prisoner at the hostile Fort Rozz base, but as time goes by, she and Astra begin to form an unexpected bond, challenging each of their beliefs, and loyalties.(complete - 27 chapters, 134k words)
Occupational Hazard - A comedy of errors in which Astra seriously misinterprets things. Seriously. Misinterprets. Things. This is a Human AU, so she doesn’t even have the excuse of being an alien to justify her Serious Misinterpretation of Things. She’s just that socially awkward of an Environmental Sciences professor who is head over heels for the obliviously charming-as-all-hell medical school dropout Alex Danvers.Basically, everyone is confused, smut runs rampant, as do silly tropes, stupidly oblivious mutual pining, and eventually, Feelings. Also Non is a surprisingly effective wingman, even though he very honestly had no intention of being one. Seriously, everyone is just so confused. (technically incomplete but read it, that is an order. 7/? chapters, 42k words)
Sweet Dreams Are Made of This - In which Astra watches TV for the first time, falls asleep, and has a series of seven very bizarre dreams, each of which ends with her falling in love with one Alexandra Danvers. Which is just silly. Humans are ridiculous. Why would General Astra In-Ze ever fall for a human, even a human as brave, and clever, and kind, and strong, and impassioned, and protective, and brilliant, and beautiful and…damn it. (complete - 7 chapters, 36k words)
all by uisceB. Just read everything this person has authored. Just do it.
Anyway, I have a whole GD fic rec already done! It was done almost a year ago, though, so I would recommend checking out anonymississippi and alittlelesspain to see what they’ve done in the meantime!

I can provide you with my past fic rec for that here and also with a handful of more recent fics than that first one, here!

Sooooo many fics! Enough for two previous rec lists here and here!

the mothering of us by QuickYoke and ratherembarrassing - The Black and White Ball was a masquerade ball held on November 28, 1966 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Tony and the Gal Pals by comicbooklovergreen - “Hey Peg, you here? You’re never here early. Should I be worried?”Tony froze, looking to Peggy for direction. You Are Magic. - Karamel One Shot
Word Count: 1800
i missed writing and a few days ago i said i wanted to write about a karamel baby again..plus yesterday i didnt realize that today is father’s day! lol, i hope you guys enjoy it.😁
______
The ride back home was unusually quiet, but Mon-El didn’t question it, Ali must’ve been tired after watching her favorite Disney movie, Tangled, the night before, even if it was a Monday and both him and Kara knew that she would’ve had school in the morning. “Princess, what do you wanna eat for lunch?” “I don’t know.” “Don’t you have a preference?” “No.”
Mon-El kept his eyes on the road, but deep down he was extremely worried about his daughter’s well being: she was the bubbliest, sweetest 8 year old he’d ever met, incredibly smart and observant, she had her mother’s comets eyes and his brunette hair, he decided it was better to talk about whatever was bothering her in Kara’s presence.
Kara had just gotten back from CatCo when her two loves opened the door. “Hi.” “Hi babe.” Mon-El greeted her with a kiss, Ali behind him just stomped directly to her room without a word. “What happened?” “I have no idea, she didn’t say anything on the way home, I wanted to talk to her with you…I think something happened at school.”
Ali entered the kitchen again, one of her shirts was crumpled into a ball in her fist, she threw it in the bin under the sink, “I don’t feel like having lunch today.” she stormed off again. “Ali! Ali, come here, what’s wrong?” She locked her door, Kara saw through it with her x-ray vision, she covered herself under the blankets and started sobbing on her pillow. “She’s crying.” The concerned mom told her husband, “Stay here. I’ll go talk to her.” He responded.
“Ali, can you please open the door?” “Leave me alone, dad.” “Alura, please open the door. I’m gonna stay out here until you open the door.” He sat down in front of it, he learned with parenthood that patience was a really important virtue. “Why don’t you tell me why you threw away that shirt? The one uncle Winn made for you? I thought it was your favorite, you wore it until a few days ago. Did he do something that upset you?” “No.” She mumbled. “Why don’t you wanna eat? Mommy made pasta!” “I don’t wanna eat.” “Why?” “I just said I don’t want to.” “Look, we can continue this conversation with this closed door looking ridiculous, or you can let me in and I won’t say a word. And if you want to talk, I’ll listen to you.”
It took some seconds before Ali opened the door, then sat on the bed again: her face had red stains and tears were still clouding her bright eyes. Mon-El’s heart broke at the sight, he would’ve died for his daughter’s happiness, he would’ve brought her the most beautiful star to see her smile; he lay down next to her, Ali cuddled up to her daddy, as her sobs started again, he could just hold her and caress her back, he knew he had to wait for her to let everything out. He wiped away her remaining tears streaming down her cheeks, “Breathe.”
“You remember, we took pictures for the annuary last week?” “Yes, of course.” “I was wearing that shirt for my picture, the one that has a little cape sewn to the back.” Mon-El nodded, waiting for Ali to keep talking, “Today we were looking at the pictures all together in class, when Laura and Dani started laughing at my picture.” “Why?” “They made fun of me for my cape, they said ‘She thinks she’s like Supergirl, she pretends to be a hero, but she’s just a loser. Look at that stupid shirt!’ and they told everyone to look at my picture, and suddenly..everyone was laughing at me. I ran out of my classroom and Ms. Lee tried to stop me but I locked myself in the bathroom until everyone had left.” The child’s voice kept cracking, Mon-El’s heart filled with sorrow, he wished he could’ve absorbed all that pain. “I’m so sorry to hear that, sweetheart. But first thing’s first, you don’t have to keep everything to yourself, opening up is good for your health, you don’t have to face things alone, you have two parents that love you to Krypton and back,” he kissed her cheek you have all your amazing aunties, Alex, Sam, Eve, Lena and uncle Winn and James who love you and love to spoil you so much..you have your grandparents, you could say a word and we would all run to help you. Second thing, your ambition makes you great, you can achieve anything you set your mind on, you can be a hero starting from little things right now, perhaps these will lead to far greater things, who knows? You are magical, Ali, not everyone understands magic. And last thing..wanna know who are the biggest losers you’ll ever meet?” A small grin was appearing on her lips, “Who?” “Me and your mom.” “What?” She chuckled, “It’s true! It’s true.” “Why?” “When people tell us bad things, we can’t even clap back, we stutter a lot, we might be able to fly but sometimes we trip while we’re running or walking, it took years for us to spell some words correctly after we first landed on Earth, and I ate pancakes like a cheeseburger.” “But that doesn’t make you losers!” “It doesn’t even make us the coolest people on this planet, does it?” Ali was finally laughing and Mon-El felt the weight on his chest lift.
Kara stepped into the room, “Hey, I figured you guys wanted to eat by now, so I did my heat vision trick…Is everything okay now?” Alura smiled with relief, “Yes, I feel better.” “Let’s go eat!” Mon-El stood up and offered his hand to his daughter: her parents walked behind her, “I heard everything you told her..She’s been a daddy’s little girl from the very first minute of her life. She’s always gonna listen to you, you have something special.” “What can I say? From the moment I first touched those sweet tiny features of hers, I knew I would’ve done anything for her.” “You’re such a good father.” Kara caressed his scruffy face. “Thank you for making me one..and you’re a great mother, too.”
Later that day, right before falling asleep, Kara and Mon-El found themselves talking about being parents. “Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing enough.” Her whisper was barely audible, it echoed on his chest. “What do you mean?” “I wish I could do more to make her feel better, I know we have to leave some space to let her grow but–” “It hurts. I know.” “Yeah.” “Being sad is inevitable.. We can’t will ourselves to not feel anything, you were the one who taught me that.” Kara’s eyes shot up in his gaze’s direction, she couldn’t believe how well he remembered things from decades earlier. “You’re amazing.” “I am everything I am because of you, don’t you forget that.” Mon-El kissed Kara’s nose and lips, before removing a strand of hair from her face. “These situations will help her grow, she’ll be wiser.” “Just like daddy.” “Just like mommy.”
They shared a smile, before Kara said, “Hey, I have an idea for tomorrow.”
Ali had just entered the classroom, wearing the caped shirt with pride, when she noticed those two mean girls whispering and giggling, but after her talk with her dad the day before, that didn’t bother her anymore. Out of blue, two superheroes flew in from the window, Supergirl and Valor stood by the whiteboard.
“Good morning!” Valor greeted, “Good morning, guys.” Supergirl followed. The teacher was probably about to pass out, the children were shouting excitedly- except for Ali, who had her mouth hanging open, shocked. “What are my parents doing here?” She thought. “Uhm, if your teacher lets us talk for one second, and you can turn down the noise, we would like to tell you something very, very important.” The man crossed his arms, the teacher nodded and agreed enthusiastically. “So..raise your hand if you’ve ever dreamed about fighting bad guys.” A good amount of kids raised their arms; “Now, raise your hand if you’ve ever dreamed about having superpowers.” The remaining children had raised their hands too, now. “Who are Laura and Dani?” The blonde superhero asked, Ali tried to keep her chuckles to herself, the two girls raised their hands excitedly. “Stand up, come here! Do you know what it takes to be a good superhero?” Valor asked them. “Superstrength?” One of the duo said, not exactly sure with her reply. “That helps, of course, but it’s not the most important thing.” “The key to being a good superhero is to be kind and have a good heart.” Supergirl spoke, and everyone looked at her with heart eyes, including her partner.
“Who’s Ali?” She continued. “I am.” The sweet girl answered with a soft voice. “Come here.” She was now standing next to her two bullies and her parents, her heroes. “Oh, you have a cape like us! It looks wonderful on you, doesn’t it, Supergirl?” “I agree! Do you guys agree?” Dani and Laura had a mortified expression on their faces, but they agreed with the rest of the class. “But like I said before, you should have a good heart to be a hero, filled with kindness and forgiveness too.” “Have you always been kind to one another?” “Yes, yes!” “I know some of you aren’t being honest..but it’s okay, you can apologize to each other and start again.” Ali knew that the two girls wouldn’t have said the truth in front of everyone, so she just said. “I forgive you, I know you don’t really think that about my beautiful cape.” She turned around, flaunting the back of her shirt like a peacock and went back to her seat. “It was a pleasure to meet all of you!” “I hope you all will cherish this lesson forever, who knows, someday we could be fighting crimes together?” “Have a great day, kids!” And just like that, they flew out the window again.
They had a few rules about the whole “My parents are superheroes” thing, one of them was to never let it interfere with Ali’s life, because they wanted her childhood to be as normal as possible, but this exception was extremely nice and Ali could bet that her parents had a lot of fun playing pretend. No one could take away the smile from her face after that encounter. “Hey Ali, where did you buy that shirt?” “Yeah, I want one too.” Another one interjected. “Actually..my uncle made it himself for my birthday. But you can ask your parents to make one for you, maybe!”
Needless to say, by the end of the week Ali had started a new fashion trend.
