hi, it's me. the fic writer that uses culturally-specific idioms in a very different cultural time setting and keeps confusing words like reign and rein. this is my story.

Heard this on the radio so it may or may not be legit but they were talking about how kissing is almost as beneficial as brushing your teeth (something about the increase in saliva production washing away bad bacteria) and it fondly reminded me of your fic "citation not needed" (which I adore, of course!). Also now I'm thinking of human!Kara who's autistic struggling with brushing her teeth and managing to convince Lena that kissing her is a suitable alternative lmao

i'm thinking about kara moving in with lena after she gets home from the phantom zone (obviously, bc she can't sleep alone thanks to the ptsd and she's afraid to move in with the danvers-olsens bc what if she has a nightmare and accidentally laservisions the wall as she wakes up and esme's room catches on fire etc etc......). ANYWAYS so kara moves in with lena.

and it's been a few months, and she's getting a lot better, and technically theoretically she could maybe possibly move back into her own apartment. but for some indistinguishable reason, she wants to stay at lena's. maybe it's just her own selfishness; maybe it's because lena keeps her pantry fully stoked with all of kara's favorite snacks. whatever the reason, she decides she doesn't want to leave. and lena doesn't seem to want her to leave either. so yeah. it's good.

and then one day kara's complaining to lena about how hard it is to get herself to brush her teeth some nights, how she's always too drained by the end of the night, how she doesn't like leaving her bedroom (er, well, lena's bedroom, since that's where she sleeps) after the sun's gone down and it's dark outside. and hearing this, lena wordlessly vows to research solutions.

she's compiled a whole list of tips for kara and is nearly done when she spots a research article title that she inexplicably finds. er, compelling. "effect of increased saliva production during sexual intercourse on dental plaque levels."

anyways so the next night, lena sees that kara's struggling, and so she holds kara's hand and sits criss-cross beside her on the bed. goes down her list of tips that might help kara - brushing her teeth before the sun goes down, adding more motion sensor lights in the house, keeping a washcloth on the nightstand on kara's side of the bed so kara can easily wipe off the surface of her teeth without having to get out of bed, and um oh yeah perhaps kissing--

k-kissing.

four orgasms later, kara agrees to try keeping a washcloth on her nightstand so she can wipe the plaque off her teeth. and also to the kissing thing. (she really really likes the kissing thing.)
