Okay...going to wade into the Sabezra discussion. May the flying spaghetti monster in sky have mercy on my soul...
I guess you could call me a "causal viewer" because, despite being a life long Star Wars fan, I'd never watched an episode of Rebels before watching Ahsoka. I just never got around to it and I've only watched a handful of eps of The Clone Wars too. But anyway once I started Ahsoka I was like "this show will clearly make more sense if I watch Rebels" so I started. I'm almost done season 3 of Rebels as of writing this post. And really loving Rebels btw. Part of me of like "why didn't I watch this earlier?" but on the other hand I don't have to wait for the next episode and I know the major spoilers already so I'm not going to get the rug yanked out from under me.
So back to Ahsoka and Sabezra...the big questions. Did I see the romance "coding" (not sure I agree "coding" is the right word but whatever, that's semantics) in Ahsoka? Yes. Sabine's actions definitely come across as her being in love with Ezra to me. That said I can also see the platonic angle, especially after having watched some of Rebels, so I'm not going to tell anyone they are wrong for viewing Sabine and Ezra's relationship as platonic. These things are subjective and open to interpretation until anything definitively romantic or definitively not romantic happens on screen. And at this point nothing definitive has happened either way on screen. Nobody has been proven right and nobody has been proven wrong yet. Sabezra is basically schrodinger's cat right now.
Next how did I interpret the "like a sister" line in Ezra's holo. Um...full disclosure the first time I viewed that scene I didn't even register that he'd said she was "like a sister" to him. I'd never even seen Rebels at that point so I didn't know Ezra yet. So as a causal viewer my take away from that scene was Ezra meant a lot to Sabine and Sabine meant a lot to Ezra. And I'd be wiling to bet that that was the takeaway for most causal viewers.
So on rewatch do I think the "like a sister" line means that Ezra truly sees Sabine as a sister? No. On rewatch, paying close attention to the body language, and after having watched some Rebels, I think Ezra is both struggling to find the words to tell Sabine how important she is to him and telling her what he thinks she needs to hear in that moment. The problem is that in English we don't have a word to describe someone isn't technically family but who isn't a lover either but who's also way more than "just" a friend. Sister is the best word Ezra can come up with in that moment but you can tell from his awkward body language and his literal scoff as soon as he says it that its not the right word. And yeah I think Ezra thinks that Sabine sees him as a brother so he tells her what he thinks she wants to hear right before he heads of on what very well could have been a suicide mission.
Do I think Sabezra is going to be made canon on Tuesday's final episode of Ahsoka (of season 1 at least). No, but hold on nobody panic!!! I also don't think that means Sabezra is dead in the water either. And frankly I'm kind of mystified as to why Sabezra shippers seem to think that the next episode is make or break for Sabezra when its clearly not? If there isn't a love declaration or a kiss or both (which is what I'm assuming people would interpret can them being made canon) its not like either Sabine or Ezra are going to marry someone else on Tuesday either. And since much of Ahsoka has been set up, meaning not much is actually going to get resolved in the next ep (Thrawn hasn't even left Perida[?] yet! I fear we are ending on a cliff hanger), we'll be seeing Sabine and Ezra again. There's no rush for them to get together romantically (and I know that's hard to hear for people who've been shipping for years but its true).
And further to the "there's no rush" point I actually have to say I that I think its WAY too soon for anything definitively romantic to happen between Ezra and Sabine yet (and again I get how hard that is for those who've been shipping them for a long time). And I say that as both a "casual viewer" and someone who's also watched a good chunk of Rebels now. For the causal viewer who hasn't watched Rebels, which is probably a big chunk of the audience for Ahsoka, they barely know Sabine, have just met Ezra and have only seen them interacting for ONE episode and don't know any of their history. A kiss or a love declaration would seem out of the blue at this point I think. And as someone who's getting into Rebels I still think its too soon. While I agree that Sabine is very likely in love with Ezra I don't think she's admitted to herself yet (that's why Baylan used the word family when he was getting her to hand over the map thingy imho) no way is she ready to tell HIM. And as for Ezra...dude is clueless that Sabine might might have non platonic feelings for him so no way is he going to risk ruining their friendship by blurting out that he's in love with her. And not only that they've been separated for 10 YEARS ffs. They need to get to know each other again before anything romantic can happen, again imho. I want Sabezra to become canon but I want it done WELL. Sabezra is a friends to lovers ship, they are still firmly in the friends stage right now, it needs to be a sloooooow burn.
And finally do I think Sabezra will become canon? Honestly...I don't know. I'd like it to, it would be really nice to have a non problematic ship, especially after the sequel trilogy robbed us of FinnRey and tried to force freaking r*ylo. But I think Filoni and the other powers that be over at DLF (he is NOT the sole person calling the shots here, keep that in mind everyone) are probably testing the waters right now and waiting to see what the audience reactions are like before they make any decisions. I'd be wiling to bet that by the end of Tuesday's episode the door will be left wide open for pretty much anything to happening shipping wise. So we'll just have to wait and see. Time will tell, it always does.

I love your hybrid series and your writing in general. I was thinking maybe you could write a NSFW fic with Yuuji as a hybrid tiger boy and or Megumi as a cat. Only write if you have the time and if you would like to ♡ no pressure.
I hope you have a nice night 🌙♡
thankuuuuuu!!!!
im not doing requests rn but this is vvvv cute !!!
hybrid ideas below 🐾 aged up 21+ characters
im personally thinking mayyybbeee yuji as a puppy boy (ik he's a tiger or whatever that's more canon) HOWEVER to me he has puppy energy.... think I might make him dom needy puppy who overpowers reader with his pure and innocent horny energy!!!! 😇
ummmm and for megumiiii.... I guess some of his mannerisms are cat like....... however I may personally find it easier to write him as a wolf type hybrid, yknow with black pointy ears and his rutting seasons and all that, heading into omegaverse kinda territory here...
but yeah, please share your thoughts and give more details on hybrid tiger and cat headcanons if u wanna, I could be persuaded ^^
alllsooo just to add if u like kitty hybrid ideas I may write satoru as a subby kitty hybrid eventually..

Can you tell me about your Sherlock Holmes interest? You blogging about it has intrigued me!! Do you have a favourite adaptation you'd recommend? What do you love about the dynamic? I'm very interested to hear your thoughts!
(totally all good if you don't feel like answering, no stress 🩵 your posts just made me super interested but I wouldn't know where to start with engaging in such a huge volume of media)
Ohhhhhh what an ask to wake up to. I hope you know what you've done. You've just given me permission to unleash my full insanity on you. (I love you I love you I love you I lo- bless you)
I'm gonna be so honest I didn't even know where to start until I decided to just tackle your questions one by one so HERE I GO
(Under the cut so everybody who doesn't care can just scroll right by <3)
“Tell me about your SH interest”
Alright, I'll just out and admit it, it all started with BBC Sherlock – I'm sure I'm not alone with this. I absolutely fell in love with this show, then got so thoroughly disappointed by the last season I thought okay, this can't be right. I refuse. So started to read the original ACD Holmes stories and feLL EVEN MORE IN LOVE. The next christmas my brother (bless him) got me this absolutely Stunning collection of (almost) all the Holmes stories:
Tumblr media
And I dove headfirst into them. Couldn't get my nose out of them. Started teaching myself to play the violin because Holmes plays it and I loved him so much, that's how obsessed I was.
For a while my irl best friend and I read the stories together, 1 or 2 per day, and we'd send each other voice messages discussing what happened and what we THOUGHT the solution was and then we'd read on to the end and discuss again and it was soooo fun. We stopped eventually and I read the rest by myself but those evenings are such fond memories for me I just had to include them here too <3
Okay but before this gets too personal, let's move on to the actual questions you asked!
“Do you have a favorite adaptation?”
DO I EVER.
OHHHHH DO I.
YES I DO.
I'm sure every adaptation out there is brilliant in one way or another but, for me, THE Sherlock Holmes will forever be Jeremy Brett in the 1984 Granada TV series. Unfortunately they had to recast his Watson, but fortunately both Watsons are WONDERFUL and no matter how many times I rewatch I can never decide who I love more. Both David Burke and Edward Harwicke are absolutely brilliant.
There are. Several things that set Granada Holmes apart from other adaptations, to me. Let me attempt to list a few of them without getting too carried away.
I have to start with Jeremy Brett because he's just so wonderful. Also, when I read the Holmes stories, the character my brain conjured looked almost exactly like Brett, even before I'd ever seen him. Perfect casting. I mean just look at this legend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, the way he cared about this character – he came up with an entire backstory for Holmes, and it influenced his acting choices and there are some moment where it clearly shines through and it's so heartbreaking. There is a moment in one episode where Watson is talking about another character who was very lonely growing up (while giving Holmes a meaningful look), and Holmes doesn't get any direct verbal response to it but you can see on Jeremy's face that Holmes relates and it still hurts to think about, and YEAH IT HURTS ME TOO.
In the books, Holmes often goes days without eating when he's on a case, because food is a distraction to him – Well, during filming, when everbody else would go have lunch, Jeremy would often stay on set and study the scripts to perfect and refine every nuance of the way he played it. Once again, perfect Holmes.
Also, in Granada Holmes, Holmes is allowed to be silly. So often, Holmes is portrayed as this cold, loveless logic-machine, but that is not who he is!! In Granada, he gets to laugh and have fun and hum and twirl and jump over furniture and just. Be human. Watson brings out that side of him, and Brett portrays that so beautifully.
It was also extremely important to Brett that the TV show remain as faithful as possible to the books - and I've heard that, more than once, he made the writers change the script because he didn't agree with their take on Holmes. (And judging from the way he plays him: he was most likely correct.)
But you know what they changed? The ONE thing that's in the book that they very intentionally changed, that they very VERY purposefully left out? Watson's marriage.
In Granada Holmes, Watson never marries. He's always with Holmes.
Now, you could argue that they simply didn't want to bother with casting a Mary who would never show up anyway, or write it in there just to have it in there when they could be focussing on the fun cases instead. But. And this may be conjecture on my part, but nevertheless. Jeremy Brett was openly bisexual, so I don't think it's absurd to assume that when he read the books, he saw the same thing so many of us see. Which is that these two characters are in love. They weren't allowed to be, by the times they lived in, or even by their author (though there are theories around that which I will not get into now), but nevertheless, the love is very much there.
Another thing this adaptation does in regard to Watson (which I feel many others fail to do) is that it lets Watson be both Holmes' best friend and ALSO his equal. Of course, most of the time Holmes is doing the deducing and Watson is doing the watching and adoring and cheering on, but sometimes, every now and then, Watson gets to do some clever deducing and Holmes watches him and whenever that happens Brett's Holmes gets such heart-eyes it's unbearable to watch. (allow me to link to just this one example) So often in Holmes adaptations Watson gets belittled and made fun of and is under-appreciated, but in Granada, the opposite is true. Holmes states himself, more than once, that he needs Watson, that he would be lost without him, and Brett himself has emphasized this in interviews as well, said that Holmes would likely have died of an overdose years ago if he didn't have his Watson. Watson loves and adores Holmes, but the same is true the other way around. And it comes through So Beautifully in this show.
Have this gif, just because I like it:
Tumblr media
.... I have not managed to keep this short, have I. Sorry.
Shall we move on?
“What do you love about the dynamic?”
I think I already party answered this in the last paragraph about why I love Granada Holmes so much, but. Let me elaborate again. Why shouldn't I? You asked, and you shall receive answers, and I could talk about this all day anyway.
I love that Holmes is very clearly and loudly Different, and not always in an easily-digestible way, but Watson doesn't mind. Not one bit. In fact, he loves him for it.
Holmes can be rude at times, because he forgets about societal conventions – Watson reminds him to be polite, but always with gentleness and kindness and amusement even.
Holmes can be an obnoxious show-off. He loves to talk about how he collected his Clues and got to his Conclusion, he loves to be clever and to be the most intelligent person in the room, he loves to be admired and praised. And Watson loves to listen to him, and loves to praise him. I kid you not, there is a passage where Watson praises Holmes for his cleverness and Watson says. Actually, let me find the passage for you, I need you to see this.
“My companion flushed up with pleasure at my words, and the earnest way in which I uttered them. I had already observed that he was as sensitive to flattery on the score of his art as any girl could be of her beauty.”
Watson knows how much it means to Holmes to be appreciated, verbally, out loud. And he does it, again and again, because it makes them both so happy.
I love how good they are for each other. Holmes provides the adventure, the excitement of the cases, and Watson is his constant, he provides the stability, the calm, routine, he's the home Holmes can come back to after his wild escapades (on the rare occasion that he does go off alone).
I love how protective they are of each other. Most often we see Watson's side of this, there are so many instances where Holmes is threatened by another character, most often a suspect in a case, and the MOMENT they even LOOK at Holmes wrong, Watson will stand up and hover protectively, glare at them, step between them, put his hand on his revolver, or actively throw hands. In most instances, Holmes doesn't need his protection. He's perfectly capable of protecting himself. Still, even knowing that, Watson is more than willing to step between Holmes and whatever perceived danger presents itself, take the punch for him, and make the other party pay.
HOWEVER. There are a few moments, here and there throughout the books, where we see Holmes' side of this. Moments where he knows an investigation will be dangerous, and he apologizes to Watson for involving him in this. (Watson never minds at all). Sometimes he tells him that he understands if Watson would rather not stick around for (insert xyz dangerous thing). (Watson always stays). One time he actively argues with Watson that he has to leave because it is too dangerous and he can't have it on his conscience if something happens to Watson. (Watson does not leave).
In one case, he lets a murderer go free because the crime was done in revenge for a murdered loved one, and Holmes muses that he likely would have done the same, if someone he loved was killed. A few cases later Holmes tells someone that “if [they] had killed Watson, [they] would not have got out of this room alive.”
I love the TRUST between them. So often, Holmes jumps into actions that seem so insane and dangerous, and all Watson can do is follow him and trust that Holmes has a plan. And sometimes (I'm thinking of a specific case here that tore my heart out) Holmes' entire plan hinges on Watson's actions, and specifically Watson's love for him, but Holmes can't TELL him because Watson is a lousy actor, so Holmes just has to trust that Watson will do exactly what needs to be done. “Don't forget, Watson. You won't fail me. You never did fail me.”
And, finally, not really a question but “I wouldn't know where to start.”
I think, personally, I would recommend starting with the first collection of short stories, which is “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”.
I found the novels a bit harder to get through because of the way they're structured, but that's down to personal preference I'm sure.
If you want to get a feel for the characters before you dive into the books, I can absolutely recommend simply watching the first few episodes of the Granada series. I believe they're all online? Yeah, I found them [here]!
Scandan in Bohemia was never my favorite case (for many reasons, most of which being the way every adaption seems to love to force a love story between Holmes and Irene Adler – thankfully Granada doesn't do this, but it's still simply not my favorite case), but episode 2 and 3, The Dancing Men and The Naval Treaty are two of my ABSOLUTE favorites in the whole series.
So go ahead and treat yourself!!
And if you decide to read the short stories, don't forget that most collections do not include “The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes” - but that one contains one of the most infamous moments in the entire series which fans just go absolutely insane over, so make sure to read that too.
And now I've accidentally written 3 A4 pages.
Whoops. I'm sorry. I hope this is what you wanted.

It's silly because Mike Wheeler's Guide to the Undead is my favorite fic that I've ever written (I believe it's my best work writing-wise) and somehow it has fewer hits than all my other fics. Even IWABT (Rewritten), which just came out and already surpassed it.
Idk what I need to do to get you guys to read this fic.
It's super cute because it takes place right after season 1, but here's the thing. The premise of the fic is that Will actually died in the Upside Down, but then Mike is at his grave and witnesses him come back to life as a zombie. It's LITERAL ZOMBIE BOY.
Mike helps him becuse they need to figure out what's going on, but they can't tell the adults bc they'll tell the lab, so it's super pre-byler-blyer (miwi?) and so adorable and heartwarming but also kind of angst but also sweet and Nancy and Mike interact a lot and Dustin and Lucas are there and everything.
Other reasons you should read it:
There's a scene where they have a heart-to-heart while sitting on top of a crypt in a foggy graveyard
it has a very happy ending
Dustin hating on Ted Wheeler
Troy Walsh gets what he deserves
NANCY AND MIKE SIBLING INTERACTIONS I REPEAT!
Dr. Owens shows up???
It could technically happen and not change the rest of the stranger things plot
Jonathan and Mike solidarity at Will's funeral???
It's from Mike's POV, but it's young Mike so it's ok
Multiple people told me it was one of the best fics they've ever read
Like, idk what else to say other than it is my pride and joy and I have no idea why all my other fics have so many more hits than it! I love it and I think it deserves so much more hype than a lot of my other fics.
Okay, that's the end of my PSA... but if you were intrigued... maybe give it a chance?

I got this head-cannon that smg3 still had his powers after getting sent to the internet graveyard. He tried to use em again but because he got beaten up, his powers were kinda wonky and the effects will be randomized. The crew has no idea, though Tari once walked into 3 trying to reverse a coffee spill. She could only talk in French for the next 4 days. Took way too much time for 3 to fix it
He still has his powers, though he rarely uses em. It only works accurately when he’s stressed or frustrated, though he forgets he has them most of the time 👍

my review of the cast list of X-men '97
Tumblr media
overall I'm quite pleased with the choice to keep most of the original cast. and I think the choices to replace certain ones - specifically getting Holly Chou (which I believe is misspelled in the list?) to play Jubilee - were well-informed and overdue.
Tumblr media
Don't have a problem with most of this... except having Matthew Watterson play Magneto. I'm disappointed but not surprised. When will Disney listen to Jewish voices? They should have gotten a Jewish actor to play Magneto, period. I'm not sure if any of the other replacements have problems? Do let me know kf so, please.
Tumblr media
the man. the myth. the legend. my boy. If you have Instagram, I'd give his account a follow. He's such a silly guy, and a joy to follow. He posts just pictures of his Mister Sinister Hasbro figure in various locations, no caption. Makes my day. I'm so happy to have him back as my favorite character on my favorite show. team chris britton 4 life. also very curious to see who voices shaw and emma.
overall I am so so excited to watch a revival of my favorite show, despite my disappointment and honestly annoyance at the casting of magneto's vm. was overjoyed at the announcement and I'm letting myself be optimistic. I do hope it's not just constant nostalgia bait, tho. and hopefully it's not the watered down / at best milquetoast liberal level messaging of the mcu. begging on my hands and knees.

hi! 👋
from your pinned post, you’re now at 4+ years of sobriety? congrats on that!! you have my utmost respect. if you don’t mind, could you share some tips on quitting alcohol? just some things that worked for you.
i hope this is not too much if an imposing question. if you’re uncomfortable to answer, by all means ignore this. ☺️
Hello, no I’m at 2 years hahaha I wish! Thanks for asking, it helps me to help others if they need it💘
Well I got lucky and detoxed at a rehab then stayed there 22 more days. But knowing what I know now— it just depends on your usage. If you’re truly addicted, then detoxing and going to AA or some sort of recovery program would be my recommendation. I went to AA and still adhere to that program!! But fr alcohol withdrawals WILL KILL YOU if you’re really putting it down so like cold turkey quitting, be careful.
Fun fact: Alcohol and Benzodiazepine withdrawal are the only lethal drug withdrawals. Usually by seizures.
But there’s two things when getting sober and that’s the physical and mental withdrawals. Physically for cravings and post-acute withdrawal syndrome I made sure to have something sweet. People usually will eat candy but I like to drink my sugar alcoholic or not. Cravings only last 5 minutes so usually calling someone or taking a walk would get me through them.
As for the mental part, staying in communication with other people who are going through the same thing kept me sane and sober. I didn’t want to drink anymore and the people I met in AA are much more loving and nicer than who I was hanging around (if I wasn’t isolating) so like having a support system is helpful for me bc sometimes I don’t know what’s good for myself!!!
For both I was taught the HALT acronym which is basically if you’re feeling some kinda fucked up: are you hungry angry lonely or tired? Or all four of them? Usually sating that need or admitting the feelings to another makes you feel better.
This sounds so cliché but you have to really really want it. I finally wanted it after reaching my bottom and two years of just running my life into the ground, depression, and doing really scary things I had no control over when drinking. When I turned to getting help I had to maintain my honesty & willingness to stay sober.
It’s a really difficult journey at first and not every day is easy living with an actual disease of the body that makes you crave ✨liquid idiot poison✨. But being where I’m at now is really different and much better than expected. Anyways that’s kinda my experience as an alcoholic, you can be a heavy drinker and not an alcoholic. But if you feel concerned I’d say go to a meeting, you’ll be able to tell if you truly have an issue or not really quick.

Did you see the sanders asides livestream???
(Spoiler alert)
I thought it was ok…it’s nice that the sides did a Christmas swap again! Though I feel like the last one was better? More heartfelt. Defiantly hate the random Logan angst….but now I’m confused about the timeline. Wasn’t the main series in the summer?
(so asides aren't like "canon" they're silly little episodes that aren't part of the main timeline.)
I'm assuming you mean the new video, vs the 12 days of christmas.
WOOOO IT WASN'T ANOTHER FUCKING AD FOR MERCH. I thought it would be, especially with that fucking title I thought it'd be like the plushie ad. But it wasn't. (No one should be celebrating that this was non ad content.)
but yeah, it feels like there's been a lot of focus on Logan recently. Like, why not go back to Virgil's big "I was one of them" reveal and have him be tense and nervous because Remus and Janus are coming. So they try to figure out why, and it's revealed he like, stole Janus's hat to give to him as his present and stole something of Remus's to do the same. Silly fun time with some "angst" about the key plot point it really feels like Thomas has forgotton about in favor of Logan and the Orange side.
Or focus on Patton getting everyone perfect gifts while he gets nothing. Like how parents will get their kids gifts and get nothing, or bad gifts in return. Little bit of angst with a lesson about caring about your parents.
Maybe Roman angst, everyone gets him something disney when what he really wanted was something non disney related but everyone thought he was kidding because he's Roman and he's a prince why would he want something so mundane and boring? Orrr makes it better and have Remus be the one to get something Roman actually wanted and they have a little moment where Roman's like "maybe you're not that bad" and then Remus immediatly proves him wrong and makes everyone scream.
Anything but more Logan angst. There's too much of it. Focus on another character Thomas, PLEASE.
(Also, there was more wine mom Janus content, ffs, it's not funny anymore, also he seemed a little ooc? Anyone remember when Logan was the wine mom for a bit before switching it to Janus? That was weird huh)
onto the 12 days of Christmas
I did have to go back and watch the other one, because honestly, live sasi, it's not one of my series I rewatch.
everyone seems a lot more energetic, especially Roman and Patton. Everyone's everyoneing and holy shit I fucking laughed, it's a christmas miracle.
Also, maybe because it's been forever, but the aunt patty comment that might be alluding to Remus? Perfection. It's not shoved down your throat like the orange side stuff. (dear god I hate all the orange sides hints)
I don't have much to say about it overall, but watching them one after the other makes it so much clearer that something's missing from the new stuff

Wait so Pigsy, Wukong, and MK are brothers? Who's youngest to oldest? And how does the dynamic change with that? (Definitely not looking for more yummy juicy AU tidbits or anything nope mm-mm definitely not very very curious now not at all -)
Yes.
Pigsy is older than Wukong by about 4-5 ish years and Wukong is older than MK by about 10, so MK is the youngest and Pigsy is the oldest leaving Wukong (screaming) in the middle. (RIP Wukong)
As for the dynamic?
Well Pigsy doesn't have a one-sided rivalry with Wukong anymore and now it's just a sibling one. He's also very protective of his younger brothers usually being the first one to shovel talk all potential lovers. Though when it comes to it he'll be the one to cheer them up with a bowl of noodles or knock some sense into them if they are beating themselves up about something. He's also the one to go to when they need help with homework.
and seeing as how Wukong and MK are brothers now MK doesn't see Wukong as a mentor figure and more of a "teach me how to do the dumb stuff" and the person he can hyperfixate with. MK and Wukong are the type of brothers who would build Lego together and then act out scenes from the movie with it.
Though Wukong is the goofy middle brother. He's Pigsy's helper in the kitchen but he's also the one who plays catch with MK. He walks MK to all his activities but he's also the one who tries to set Pigsy up with Tang. He loves his brothers and if he had to choose between saving himself or them he save them a million times over.

06x15//What Are You Willing To Lose - weekly recap
I don’t think I can cover everything in this recap, because man, there’s so much happening in this episode and I have a whole lot of feelings and thoughts about certain plots, but let’s try to get to it (aka almost one week later because man, that ep was a lot, and then I got sick, hence the slight delay, so consider this a refresher after the break between eps):
- Andy telling Ross “I can’t afford to lose you” - can we talk about this, please? Can we? This still hits me right in the feels a week later, and I don’t think I’m gonna be over that anytime soon, thanks for asking
- Ross being genuinely surprised that Andy and Maya did not tell anyone else about the photos (apart from Carina) and that they’re on her side - that moment just had it all, and I love that they have them sticking together instead of them tearing each other apart. Ross clearly did not expect that, probably didn’t think she’d ever deserve this type of loyalty, but Andy and Maya still show up for her, and my god, am I here for this. And Andy is totally right that they need someone like Ross in a position like that.
- Andy and Travis both trying to be a good friend to the other, and it’s just the silliest and cutest thing, and I’m here for that friendship, too  (especially because “hos over bros”), especially the scene in the end where Travis is there for Andy
- I’m gonna try to keep the Theo as captain recap short, but let’s just say: He was rightfully upset about the house being a trap for both the people living there and his team. It’s his job to keep the team and everyone else safe and out of burning buildings alive, and that job was made impossibly harder when he figured out what was going on. It’s not his job to be empathetic or to counsel anyone at the height of an emergency, BUT we see him backpedal one moment later, when he sees how desperate this woman is and IMMEDIATELY softens and tells her they were gonna do their best, before going back to work and that’s really all that needs to be said about this situation. Same with him having to make the decision to leave Warren behind - Ross was right there and watching him, and he cannot possibly risk more lives to save the life of one team member (+ it’s protocol, too), even if the mere idea of leaving someone behind hurts. He would have made the call, and he would have been right about it, too
- Ross owning her “mistake” in front of a bunch of dudes and giving a goddamn fantastic speech while she is at it. Man, that episode really gave us all of that. I mean: “You know, in the short time that I have been here, I have seen this union look the other way when sloppy firefighters who should have retired years ago made fatal mistakes on the job. I've seen it allow a serial sexual harasser retire with full pension instead of face discipline. And this is where you want to draw the line? [...] No, I am pro-union! I am anti a system that has a million things wrong with it. [...] I fought to drag this department kicking and screaming into the 21st century, to make your jobs safer and better", they really gave us that and I love it
- Maya being cute on her date with Carina, that’s all. That smile is gonna kill us all one day, and it’s gonna be a fucking fantastic death
- I will never, ever forgive the editors/producers for making these goddamn awful cuts between Maya and Carina in the shower and a man fucking dying in a burning house. I mean, what the hell? That was a downright horrible decision.
- Andy. My goodness, Andy. And her trauma. Like, finally? They’re finally acknowledging that trauma doesn’t simply disappear? Thank goodness. Thanks to whoever remembered. And thank you for the portrayal of such raw and heartbreaking emotions when Andy told Warren, “You fell through the roof”, that just about wrecked me in a million different ways, but in a good way, so thank you for that
- Ross telling Theo he did the right thing. Thank you for that, too. And I guess Jack confirming that wasn’t too bad either.
- And they acknowledged Carina’s trauma too, and the contrast was so beautifully portrayed. Carina wants them to be okay. She wants their marriage to be okay. But it isn’t. And she can’t pretend, and she realizes that and realizes they got more work ahead of them. And Maya just...acknowledges Carina’s pain and is there for her. It’s heartbreakingly beautiful, that’s all. Now, let’s hope Carina finally accepts some professional help as well.
- Sullivan being an ass. Honestly, will there ever be a week where I don’t have to type this out? I can only hope so, because that man is getting on my nerves, badly.
- Theo and Vic are not communicating well right now. That doesn’t make them toxic, that doesn’t mean their relationship is about to end, this doesn’t mean that they’re awful human beings. It just means they’re both fighting their own battles and they suck at talking and they’re being human and sometimes relationships just are like that, okay? They’ve been through so much and they’ve come so far, this will not be their breaking point (or at least not forever)
- last but not least: I am not here for them trying to create fake drama between Theo, Vic and Travis via that “old friend” they introduced. They need to stop recycling that storyline in Shondaland, before I flip some tables, seriously.

The Solangelo Book Cover is Out and You Get to See Me Try to Guess the Entire Dam Plot
Less than an hour ago from the time I'm writing this, the cover was released. So first, let's take a good look at it:
Tumblr media
Nico and Will in the depths Tartarus, in front of what seems to be the Mansion of Night. Now, according to my memory, Annabeth and Percy passed through the Mansion of Night (MoT) before reaching the Doors of Death, where they left Bob/Iapetus.
The premise is that Nico hears a voice calling from Tartarus, who he thinks is Bob. Rachel's latest prophecy tells that Nico will have to "leave something of equal value behind". Nico and Will head to Tartarus to save Bob, who could be in trouble.
Ohhhh shit.
That image is them looking for Bob, by heading to the last place he was: near the Doors of Death. Problem is, you get there by passing through Nyx's domain, where the MoT is.
Nico is holding Will's hand, desperate, pointing to the MoT. It's implied here that Nico is convincing Will to go to the MoT, although it doesn't look like Will is sold out on the idea.
"Leave something of equal value"? Nico is saving Bob, taking him away from Tartarus. He must leave something EQUAL to Bob behind, for an equal exchange. Let's not forget, Nico was the one who helped Bob and cared for him. Bob is important to Nico.
It's obvious he wouldn't leave Will behind. He wouldn't even think of it. He has to leave something IMPORTANT. So:
Nico chooses to sacrifice himself. Will probably has a mental breakdown. Fits Nico's character. Or...
Will sacrifices himself, and Nico is gonna go absolutely CRAZY. Plus a mental breakdown. Fits Will's character.
(Extra Pain) Nico tries to sacrifice himself, but Will becomes the sacrifice instead somehow, through choosing to sacrifice himself. Extra points if they have a whole fight about it and Nico is left absolutely broken after Will's sacrifice.
Also, what the hell is this "sacrifice"?
Since Bob probably died, and his voice is the regenerated version of himself, I think the sacrifice is DEATH. A soul for a soul.
Where am I going with this? Well, people have been speculating that this story will be a parallel to the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
TLDR: they were married, Eurydice died, Orpheus bargained with Hades so her spirit would follow behind him to the surface to the living world, but he could never glance at her before they reached the surface or she'd stay dead forever. In his love, he failed to do so, causing her to stay dead permanently. A very sad tragedy.
See where I'm going? Will dies. Nico goes to the Underworld, bargains with Hades, Hades ends up giving the same conditions as Orpheus had. However, this could be the other way round. Orpheus was wonderful at music, close to Apollo too. It could be Will saving Nico.
One thing to note is that Eurydice was bitten by a venomous snake, causing her death. Maybe Nico sacrifices himself and Will feels quilty not being able to save him. As we know, Will takes pride in healing and saving others.
BUT- I think Will dying is more likely.
This winds back to the title. "The Sun and The Star"...a perfect metaphor for not only the 2 boys, but also for that theory! Solace, a name close to words related to the sun. Nico is a star.
"Nico di Angelo has been through so much. But there is a ray of sunshine in his life–literally: his boyfriend, Will Solace, the son of Apollo." A clue from the blog post.
Let's see what Riordan had to say about the title:
"I have to credit Mark with the title! They have a lot more poetry in their soul than I do. It is not a title I would ever have come up with by myself, but I’m very grateful because it is absolutely perfect."
This final clue that really sold me on my final theory of Nico-saves-Will is the fact that Oshiro is more poetic. The title is meant to be symbolic of the 2...you know the metaphor of the North Star? That star was used by explorers as a navigation symbol. It was a fixed point of reference, a way you could use to find your way home.
Will is the Sun, Nico is the North Star.
The Sun shines on, the beam of light that shines on in the darkness. But it cannot shine forever. In the depths of hell, the North Star guides him back home.

Burn, Butcher, Burn!
youtube
After 5 long days and a LOT of fighting with my laptop, I present my Hollow Knight animatic; Burn, Butcher, Burn!
This is based on my headcanon backstory for The Radiance and The Grimm Troupe, which I'll put below for your reading pleasure.
Warning: Mentions of murder and death
also It's long.
A long, long time ago, there lived two twin moths; Snowy and Smokey.
Snowy and Smokey were the first of their kind. Whether a result of a strange mutation or some kind of hybrid, no one knows. In the forest the two lived in, bugs tended to stick to their own. You would be hard-pressed to find any creature interacting with anyone but their own kin. Of course, Snowy and Smokey had no kin, aside from eachother.
So, the two decided that, if they didn't belong anywhere, they'd simply belong everywhere.
Snowy and Smokey made it a point to help any bug they came across, regardless of species. From Butterflies to Mantids, they opened their wings to anyone and everyone. Slowly but surely, they built a reputation as the kindest creatures in the forest. If you had a problem, you could go to Snowy and Smokey and they would do their damndest to help you. Some insisted they were kind to a fault, but they weren't dissuaded. Even through hardship and struggle, they never turned their backs on anyone.
It was on one fateful night that the moths' world changed forever. The two had been resting on a tree branch, Snowy watching the stars while Smokey dozed. For a moment, the starry sky seemed to ripple, the stars flickering. Excited and curious, Snowy shook Smokey awake, and the two went to investigate the disturbance.
In an instant, they found the forest gone. Instead, they stood on a polished stone platform, overlooking a sea of moonlit clouds. Above them, the starry sky seemed to stretch forever. The two were stunned for a long moment before something rose from the clouds. A Wyrm, decorated with feathers and longer than either moth could see. The Wyrm coiled around the platform and lowered its head to speak to the awestruck moths.
It introduced itself as The Feathered Wyrm, higher being of dreams, and explained why it had brought the moths into its realm. The Wyrm was dying. It wasn't sure how long it had left, but it knew its days were numbered. When the Wyrm died, its domain, the realm of dreams, would die with it. Snowy and Smokey, still startled by the situation, asked how they could help. The Wyrm asked that they take its place as the gods of dreams, maintaining it's realm and legacy after it passed.
The two agreed but explained they weren't sure how they were supposed to do that. The Wyrm reassured them that it was simple, really. It gathered up all its magic, and split it in half, giving one half to Smokey, and the other to Snowy. The Wyrm sunk back into the clouds, and to this day you can see its remains in the Dream Realm.
And thus was born The Radiance and The Shade.
One of the first things the Radiance and Shade did was create the Moth Tribe, giving themselves the family they always wished they had. For a while, things were good. The fledgling gods learned their abilities and limits, and they cared for their new kin.
Until something went wrong.
The Radiance and Shade split their domain between day and night. The Radiance watched over the Moths during the day, and The Shade during the night.
The Moths were, largely, diurnal, staying awake during the day and sleeping during the night. Slowly, the Radiance grew jealous that the Moths seemed to prefer the Shade over her. This jealousy festered over time. The Radiance began to poison the Moths against the Shade, citing his role as god of Nightmares. Eventually, the majority of the Moths began to loathe The Shade, much to his confusion. Those who stayed loyal to him tried to warn him, but it was too little too late.
The Radiance gave her moths weapons that could cut through the Dream Realm, and together they attacked the Shade. They felled him and ripped out his heart, but gods are not so easily snuffed out.
With his failing strength, the Shade split the Dream Realm in two and merged his body with the newly created Nightmare Realm. The Moths who remained loyal to him followed. When The Shade created the small vessel now known as Nightmare King Grimm, those Moths became the first Grimmkin, and the only Grimmkin to hold the title of Nightmare.
