Watching across the spiderverse has refuelled my very strong emotions about Gwen spider-womaning in literal pointe shoes. Either its a thing that you can do all that spider stuff! fight people! walk! have literal agility not to do with being on pointe! in her universe, and if so I want to go there so bad.

if not, and I personally think it's more likely that it's more for aesthetic of the creators and designers and doesn't take in to count of real pointe shoe physics, it really makes me frustrated. I watch the first movie and every time I wince or go nooo it doesn't work like that everytime she does... basically anything in those shoes. there are so many issues

pain! pain in doing that, just wearing the shoes, the damage to her feet. I know of course good fitted pointe shoes aren't supposed to hurt as much, but they still do to a certain extent.

money! where is she affording all these shoes? isn't her dad suspicious? wearing them so much and doing activity that is definitely not made for pointe anyway is going to mean they're going to break pretty fast. Contrary to what a lot of people think, but most casual dancers don't break their shoes, so they last longer. Professionals do, but doing so also means they die quicker. To have that added mobility quickly, as well as the amount of dance they do in those shoes mean they die within a month and sometimes even a week or days. And then you have to get new ones. You don't think it would be suspicious that Gwen needs new pointe shoes (which are expensive) so regularly while not going to like a ballet school (like actual school, not just doing classes) or being a professional?

ribbons! they'd come undone, or come untucked at some point with the amount of action she's doing. also getting looser.

mobility! you... dont have that level of mobility in pointe shoes. say it's spider power whatever, but pointe shoes are very restrictive and physically wouldn't let her do the movement she does. it's a core part of them, and what makes them supportive actually on pointe.

noise! walking flat in pointe shoes, when not actively visibly trying to be quiet, just the way she's walking? I can hear the slap of the wooden ends from here

So I learned this from Twitter and DidYouKnowGaming, but apparently there were plans for an Epic Donald game that would have similar gameplay as Epic Mickey, but would have been based on the Carl Bark's Disney duck comics and the Ducktales show with each level being a different adventure.

Apparently Magica, Gyro Gearloose, the Beagle Boys, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Scrooge would have been major characters.

But after Disney Interactive got scrapped and Disney started licensing games instead of making them... the idea got scrapped too.

Something about Asmo makes me fucking crazy. The fact that his party girl persona is just that- a persona, one that he’s hanging on to by his fucking fingernails. There’s a UR+ card I got ages ago (it’s a snow related card. Cannot remember the name off the top of my head) and one of his unlocked chats is just so devastating. He’s so incapable of being honest about how he feels/what he’s thinking that he’s practically begging the MC to listen to what he’s saying, to try and understand what he’s telling you. because if he had to come right out and say how he feels about you or himself or anything at all it would destroy him. He’s clinging on to the ghost of a reputation he had before the fall and constructing a new one around its long dead corpse. To acknowledge anything outside of that would pick apart what he’s worked so hard to convince people of. And when Simeon calls him out on it he has to deny deny deny, he’s irritated and uncomfortable because he’s aware of it. Like yes he can be so silly and whiny and even toxic but the thing is that Asmo is smart. Like, really smart. He knows he’s a house of cards, and whenever anything threatens his stability he has to find a way to come out on top. He has to have control or else it’s all coming down. I mean that’s even showcased by the pact offer between him and the MC (I’d argue that it applies to his pact with Solomon as well). Idk I’m just obsessed with characters who have the world and everything in it but all they want is to be genuinely and deeply loved. Bonus points if they’re in Asmo’s position, where surface level affection and adoration from others is guaranteed and equally desired but doesn’t scratch that itch, doesn’t fill that void with something they know they’re missing but just can’t figure out. I rlly wish Solmare had done more with his character because he has so so much potential that they just hint at before pushing him aside. Ironic that even the devs don’t want to fully explore past the charade they gave him

Alcestis: I worry about Eumelus, it's been 10 years. I fear we will never see him again.

Admetus: Don't worry dear, I'm sure Apollo is watching over him, like he always watched over our family.

Meanwhile in Troy

Apollo: *kills dozens of Greeks with the plague. Constantly protects Hector and makes sure he can kill as many Greeks as humanly possible. Helps Trojan princes kill Greeks' best warriors*

Eumelus after seeing all of this: mom come pick me up I'm scared

But all jokes aside

Can you imagine Eumelus coming back home and seeing Apollo visiting his parents?

He sees Apollo being loving and kind to Admetus, he sees Apollo being gentle and friendly with Alcestis. He saw that his entire childhood, he saw the god of music, knowledge, light and poetry.

But now, after the war, Eumelus can't help but only see the god of plagues, the destroyer of men. He can't forget the horrible smell of disease and rotting human flesh, he can't forget what happend in Troy.

Obviously, it's not only one sided. Eumelus was fighting in this war, he helped destroy the city, he does have blood on his hands. And that could make him even more terrified of Apollo. Because he helped destroy the city that was under Apollo's protection.

What if one of the man he killed had Apollo's favour like Hector did? What if the only thing standing between him and Apollo's rage are his parents? What if Apollo is waiting for them to pass away to punish Eumelus? He can be patient, he's a god after all, he have all the time in the world. What if Pherae (their polis) will lose Apollo's favour with Admetus' death? What if Apollo will send a plague upon them as soon as Eumelus takes his father's throne? He can't stop thinking about all of this every time he sees Apollo.

I also like to think that Apollo did protect Eumelus despite being on the other side of the war. After all, Eumelus didn't die during the plage. He didn't die in the last battle despite being on the front line, inside of the Trojan horse. He made it home while most of the Greeks didn't.

He had and still have Apollo's favour, he just can't see it through his fear.
