The boys getting older has plenty of perks. One of which is that I don't have to literally hold them down to give them antibiotics or antivirals.

2/12/24: Genesis 1:1 by Zaeden

Today we have a desi pop album. It's bog standard pop, so much so I barely remember my experience listening to it. I played the first song and what felt like maybe five minutes later I've listened to a whole album, but heard perhaps three songs. Hip-hop beats, soft singing, and pop hooks, that's all I got.

Like seriously I feel like I've been fucking mind-wiped exclusively about this album, and it's only been 10 minutes since I listened to it. I don't remember a single song sticking out. I maybe had the chorus of the last song 'days' playing in my head a couple minutes after finishing the album but now even that's gone, and 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain?' by Creedence Clearwater Revival has already moved back in. Maybe the lingering effects of listening to a better artist all day (again, Creedence Clearwater Revival) and me still being tired has impacted my memory. I hate to give another short review, but…

does anyone remember who in the bad kids told the others about what they saw in the nightmare forest? i think fabian did and i'm almost certain riz didn't but they keep (accidentally?) triggering each others' forest traumas and it seems like A Thing.

please help i just had a dream where svsss was a dating sim. so, of course i tried pursuing shen qingqiu, but it ultimately backfired because suddenly he realized that he was in a dating visual novel?? and since i put myself as a guy, he just refused to show up to special in game events to avoid me interacting with him???

and obviously i was like "wtf why isn't he here?" when he didn't show up. then at some point i explored the area, and the screen suddenly zoomed in to show sqq talking to sqh (supposedly telling him all about the little situation). next thing i know, both of them are slowly turning their head to stare at the screen in pure and utter terror

also in some part of the dream, i think i did some liu qingge events or something and as his affection levels rose, he would continuously jump scare me by popping up out of nowhere and go, "its not like i like you or anything!!" while covered in blood and holding out a demonic beast head as if it were a box of treats

anyways, totally random question guys haha if i made an svsss visual novel dating sim would you guys play it. no reason in particular at all.

Got a very inspired ask inquiring about the villains in my Better Call Saul french AU so here's Gus aka famous chef Gustavo Faure and his main waiter Léo haha. More info under the cut as always...

So at first I thought about making Gus a fast-food owner like his canon counterpart, but it just doesn't fit really well if you wanna frenchify it all with nuance. We have fast-foods ofc and we do enjoy fried chicken lol, but Los Pollos Hermanos has this very distinct "patriotic" feeling that wouldn't translate as well in France, as fast-foods are american in conception. I thought about making Gus the owner of some cheaper chain like Courtepaille lmao, but it feels too memey and doesn't have the prestige that his character has canonically. Gus assimilates perfectly into american society with his brand, and caters to the people locally, so I thought it would be fair for him to do the same in France. And if you wanna cater to lovers of chic, gastronomy and prestige, what's better than being the chef of some fancy restaurant, right? It felt cliché af and looses the "close to the people" part but it honestly fits his character well, imo...

He would be extremely respected locally but still friendly and approachable due to him crafting some kind of tragic backstory for himself and his restaurant. Basically he would play the "Chilean refugee that climbed to the top of foreign cuisine" card and everyone would buy it. French people love to eat and are fond of mixing their culture's meals with more international food, so yes: I think he would serve a fusion of french/Chilean food!

He'd also be an entrepreneur as famous french chefs often have side businesses like bakeries or published books, which I think respects his canon personality pretty well. Fancy french chefs also like to hang out outside their kitchen to greet their guests and I can totally imagine Gus do that. He'd still be able to conceal his shady side nicely. He's canonically seen to like fine wine, good products, and cooks Paila Marina for Walt, so congrats to Gus for already being french in conception and not making this idea feel like a stretch lol.

I have no idea about his exact role concerning drug traffic in Europe, as I said I'm pretty ignorant about that… But he'd use his business and image to form connections and launder his money. His backstory with Max stays the same in the AU aka Max was his business """"partner""" who died killed by the Salamancas.

I don't think changing his first name was necessary, but his last name sounding american I thought I would just frenchify it a bit lol. I don't know what the name of his restaurant would be, but definitely something short, spanish, and aesthetic/poetic. Maybe a reference to Max to allude to the Hermanos part.

Bonus : I know they don't canonically meet, but in my AU I think Chuck, as a rich lawyer, would eat at Gustavo's often. They'd be acquainted :) And maybe Jérôme aka Jimmy meets him thru his brother and later discovers Gus' shady side, when the events of BrBa start.

this is so messy but here’s my interpretation of how cycles, reincarnation and death works in Rainworld

So the first thing to note is that I think it’s super.. timeline-y. Which is always a pain but whatever.

So generally, if you don’t die you progress through time pretty linearly, each cycle being a single day. However, if you do die, in your perception you wake back up at the start of the day alongside everything else. But really you’ve hopped sideways in time, to a new timeline starting at your death. In the perceptions of everything from the timeline you died in, you’re gone for GOOD, never to be seen again.

Also, though it may feel like a long time if you keep dying, the upward progression of time is actually consistent across all timelines. You can’t “lag behind” other timelines, just move horizontally away from them.

If you die of a more “permanent” cause, like disease or old age, this again works differently. You can’t just wake up in a new timeline, because you’d still be afflicted with the thing that killed you, so instead you fully leave your old life and reincarnate as a new being carrying the same soul. This can occasionally resync the cycles of beings that were alive together at some point, but one died before the other.

Ascension is when every alternate version of yourself, across every single timeline, bundles into a single point and gets cut off at once. The Ultimate Termination of the self. This is how I explain that part in the void sea where a ton of clones start swimming with you.

Jason accidentally shoots Tim out of the sky. When he attempts to retrieve him, he finds he has mysteriously disappeared.

He was sick of this ninja bullshit. Sure, he could be swift and agile and all that, but he wasn’t built for it, and it was a real pain in his ass when he was facing down a bunch of slippery little assassin-types who wouldn’t stay still long enough to take a punch. He shot one in the foot, which slowed him long enough to distract Jason and leave him open for a throwing star to the thigh. That stung.

What he’d really like was for the fuckers to actually get tired, or reveal why they were here, or something other than being a pain in his ass. There were three of them, probably, but it was hard to tell with the identical uniforms and all the jumping and running. One was injured. He…wasn’t doing so well solo-ing this, but they hadn’t killed him yet, either.

Down the street, a shadow flicked across the alley, faint over the street lights. He lined up the shot and took it. Bang.

In a flash of yellow and green, his target whirled to the ground.

Yellow. And. Green. Oh, fuck. He sprinted over the rooftops, grappling when he couldn’t clear the gaps on his own. And when he finally reached the scene–nothing. All that remained was a smear of blood on the concrete. “Robin?” He called out, hoping, desperately, that the kid was quick enough to pull himself into the shadows, but there’d be a trail. The alley and its dark corners yawned on in silence. Gone without a trace, and with him, the assassins.

That…couldn’t be good. For the first time in weeks, he clicked on the communications channel in his helmet, and the whole thing sprung to life with the crackle of voices. Oracle read out an address, Steph responded that she and Orphan would be there. Bruce–ugh, Bruce–warned them that Poison Ivy was wreaking havoc at the Gotham Butterfly Garden.

He took in a deep breath. “This—this is Red Hood.” Sharp silence. “I think I just shot Red Robin.”

“Do you have eyes on him?” Oracle asked. She didn’t miss a beat.

“No. I came to recover the—the—him,” not the body, not the body, “and he’s gone. Like, gone-gone. Not here.”

“Did you shoot him on purpose,” Damian snarled in his ears.

“Fuck–no, I’ve been fighting these Goddamn ninja fuckers all night and I thought he was one of them. Now he’s gone, and they’re gone too, and I have a bad fuckin’ feeling about that.”

Another silence. “League of Assassins,” Damian said, finally, “they wouldn’t take him if he wasn’t alive.”

i didn't know that was still controversial but byler is not going to be "revealed" pre s5? it just isn't? no actor will tell you it has a super high chance of happening before the show airs. it doesn't matter that mleven is about a single bad conversation or just time away from imploding, by the end of s4 the status quo of mleven is still upheld (albeit it now being disliked by most of the audience). actors can't just challenge the status quo of a show by openly validating a plot twist that hasn't happened yet

the way anyone is going to find out byler is in s5 is either on the day the show airs or by seeing some leaks that confirm something (if any of those would actually get out) and that's it

i constantly see people upset and saying that they're shaken by actors not saying byler has a chance of happening, but like, they can't say that? NDAs are a real thing

in reality if every actor just went "hmmm haha, *knowing eyes*" in response to being asked about a ship then i'd actually get people being upset because that'd be the classic won't happen treatment. no one being able to seriously engage byler questions despite how big it is, even in official comment sections by now, makes it really obvious there's some higher up briefing behind the scenes. if byler got something like the r*nance or s*ddie treatment where everyone is openly joking about it, it'd be pretty clear it's not happening, but that's obviously not what's going on

SO SO HAD THIS THOUGHT WHILE MAKING MYSELF FOOD!

We know, well, fandom kinda goes that ghosts form when around ectoplasm as well as have a strong enough desire to make a core. And Gotham is like Amity but less ley line more murder (so not as good ecto but still just as much, have to be a stronger ghost in general to be fine there).

Martha and Thomas Wayne are very much the type of people to come back as ghosts. No vengeance, no protection. They just wanted to see how Bruce, their little Brucie, grew up. They just wanted Family.

And that's exactly what they got!

They were thrilled when Alfred filled the role of father, even if he later claimed to just be a butler. Dick appearing in their lives was one of the happiest moments, how they wished they could tell him that his parents wished him well before moving on a few years later. Jason was adorable! Though it was upsetting to watch the other two begin too fight. It was even worse to find Jason joining them, even temporarily. Tim was a blessing to the family, keeping it from fully falling apart, and oh how they wished they could help all their little boys, because they knew where they all were and how they were feeling at all times.

With each addition they were thrilled for the large family, yet sad they could never interact, never help. Jason could sense them, but he'd only gotten help with his illness recently, poor child, he was still so ill.

The two Waynes had been there for it all. Watching, wishing, and gently tucking each of the boys in, even when they were far away from home.

But something was still missing. Both could feel that frail bond reaching out for another part of their family. A young boy they discovered while following it. He was about Damian's age, and could see them! He didn't seem aware he was adopted, let alone had a family waiting for him, but he also seemed so overwhelmed. The two decided to watch him but leave their little Danny alone. At least, they would until he was in danger.

And just like with the rest of the family, danger came.

It was just a random afternoon when they'd felt the pull of panic from the half ghost child, yet they couldn't leave Gotham so quickly. Bruce and Dick had a fight for the first time in a long time and...well it wasn't pretty and left ALL of the other children worried and confused.

So with the ectoplasm they'd gotten with their growing family, and even visiting their halfa on occasions, Martha and Thomas Wayne decided to do something about it.

The mansion was haunted. For the last few days things had been going completely haywire with no reasonable explanation but ghosts, or magic, but from what they knew the two went pretty hand in hand. So they decided to call Constantine to figure out why.

None of them expected Bruce's parents. Especially when they told them they needed to go save their brother Danny...a name that one particular batkid hadn't heard in a long time.

Martha and Thomas kept getting stronger with each kid Bruce adopted/got, Steph and Barbara inculded, and could feel a semi-frayed bond with one of the kid's biological brother and it led to Danny 🤗

They didn't plan to introduce themselves since the boy seemed happy enough despite the stress, they did not really see what his homelife was like. It was only after they felt something happen through their bond (which because they have obsessions based around family they can sense their own family) that they realized something was wrong and decided a good ol fashion haunting to catch their attention so they could find a way to tell them to get their brother.
