Time for a recap of the last twelve months! It's basically my tradition at this point. This year was a weird one. I'm not even gonna get into real life issues. It sure was something and I'm going into 2023 with no energy and zero expectations, lol. But with this mindset, I can only be pleasantly surprised, right? Or...the world will show me that when you think it can't get any worse, it will.

Anyway, simblr stuff! This is the year I started drifting away from tumblr. It makes me sad, but really, it just isn't the same as it was when I joined. The interaction is not what I wish to get so I'm simply moving to places where I feel like I'm actually heard and seen. Idk. I've tried a few times to "be the change I wanna see" but it's hard to change stuff around here. But oh well, to each their own. I'll probably stick around, even if I hang out more somewhere else and what you see are mostly queued posts. And, well, if twitter burns down, which I wouldn't be surprised if it did, you know I'll fully come back here. I love this hellsite. Genuinely. It makes me mad but I love it.

But I still love you guys. TS3 discord and a few other people who are not in that discord, I do seriously love you.

So, what was happening on this blog this year?

I was still posting my previous BC! Well, I was finishing it. Vi became a parent and hadn't become a cheating jerk yet. 😅

*this* is Vi's cheating jerk era. I still feel bad about how I resolved the whole thing, it was too rushed. I guess I was focusing more on the gameplay part and the NSB rules and less on whether their actions are logical? Prince shouldn't have come back to him, that's the hill I'll die on :D I know, I know, NSB rules and all, but he shouldn't have.

We're slowly moving onto Bloom's very short generation, as well as gen 3 of my lepacy. It's Ginevra's time to shine, but first, we spent a lot of time with the winners of Axel and August's BC.

Bambi and Candy are born, as well as the BC babies. Loads of baby cuteness in April on this blog. Oh and Ross flourishes in his babysitter era. Well, he's always been a babysitter to his descendants, but I feel like this is where he 100 % accepts it 😂

Gins' era truly starts now (why do I keep saying era in this recap lmao). I had a lot of fun playing in Twinbrook again and Ginevra and Lori were so great. <3

Alongside my lepacy (hi Elias & other gen 4 babies), I started posting the pink gen of NSB and also, my 100 Baby Challenge! I still can't believe I actually did that, and that I completed it in like two months only. Wow. What. I mean, yeah, I hyperfocused on it, but still. How did I do that.

Again, gen 3 of lepacy and gen 7 of NSB, not much to say here. As for playing, I mostly just played the baby challenge. Oh! And Maeve's BC, of course.

Ohh, and July was the month when I decided to dive into the wonderful sims community on twitter. Probably one of my best decisions this year as I made many great friends there...🥰🥰

Gen 3 ends and Sawyer is ready to take over Bridgeport but he has to wait for a bit. Pastel enters the blog and her bonding with Ross is seriously one of my most favourite things. I didn't think of this at first when I was playing, it only came to me later when I was posting the generation, but he definitely grew fond of her because she reminds him of Sunset so much ;-;

Good news: Bambi and Atsuko get married. Bad news: Ross and Caleb break up. *sigh* There's so much to unpack with their breakup storyline. Yes it makes sense that they'd hit a few bumps on the road, yes it makes sense that some of them would be bad, but...deep down, the breakup only happened because of my insecurities and lowkey being afraid of using a townie in my stories. At least I kinda got over that this fall (thank you twitter moots).

More good news: I'm finally posting the BC!!

I finished posting the 100BC and...yeah this was Maeve's month. October was also very vampiric, but I'll probably mention that in a separate recap (if I do a separate recap haha), as this one only focuses on my regular daily content (legacies and such)

Sawyer's time to shine has come. Well, not really, his siblings are constantly stealing it. Don't be surprised if he one day, you know, steals their organs and sells them.

Oh, and it's also TS3!Ross's time to shine. Because of course it is. I knew I needed to use his TS3 self somewhere, and all things considered, this felt like a perfect time for that.

December was also the month I started posting videos on youtube. I'm sorry if I'm annoying about that, but I just enjoy it so much. Never thought I'd say that. So, if you haven't yet, feel free to check it out (and subscribe maybe? 🥺). I'm hoping to do some fun stuff next year.

What's in store for 2023? I'll probably talk about that later, but to put it simply, I think this blog will be stuck with NSB and lepacy.

Let’s Get Real - One Year and uhhh counting?

So as you’ve probably know, 13th March (today) is my blog anniversary and whoa, a whole year on royal simblr and still not losing interest is...something that is unexpected for me. I honestly didn’t plan to stay this long because when I first started, I just wanted to tell a story and play with my game. I was being honest when I say I didn’t expect anyone to read my story, heck, I even put this blog on private before I finally had the bravery to open it to the public and post my first few posts.

Below the cut is just me rambling about my ‘journey’ for the past year, so read it if you want to know how I managed to not give up lmao.

Getting started

Looking back at my time here, I’m amazed at how far I’ve come. Really. From crappy screenshots to the ones that I have now (I’m still playing around with my editing style lmao and I still need to do better). From engagements posts to behind the scenes posts (engagements post? What’s that? Don’t know her lol). Wow, just wow.

I’m not going to say getting the audience that I have right now is easy. It’s not. I’m serious. It takes patience and a lot of it. I didn’t even get my first ask about my story until half a year after I started with my story. Heck, even now I rarely get asks about my story in general. And I honestly don’t mind. I understand that some people don’t really have any questions because they already understand what I’m trying to tell from my story and when they do ask, it’s mostly their guesses and speculations about what’s going to happen next (which I find interesting and entertaining to read! Srsly, I love how you guys have a very imaginative mind 😂)

Also, I like to re-read my story because I just want to see how different I was back then and now. And I kid you not I cringe at some of my past posts and keep on saying, “ARGHHHH WHY DID I WRITE THIS OMG WHAT WAS I THINKING???”. I can delete it but no, it’s a part of my journey and although some of it made me cringe, it made me smile too because I realized that I’ve grown a lot since then. Don’t be ashamed of your past work because you can learn from it on what to do and what not to do.

Motivation, how the heck do I stay motivated?

Have I ever felt like I want to give up? Yes, I do! Who haven’t? When I first started, I always felt like giving up because I see my other friends are getting a lot more interactions from their readers and my story is still... *cricket’s noise*. I’ve gotten very insecure about my story at one point that I almost quit because I felt very demotivated because of the lack of interactions and engagements. But then, I reminded myself why I started doing this;

I want to tell a story.

That’s it.

I want to tell my story and play with my game. This, has been the only thing that helped me keep on going because; I love writing, and I love sims. And I’m not doing this because I want people to praise my work, no. I just want to tell a story. And I’m not going to lie and say, “Oh, I don’t care about the notes.” because my dudes, that is a big fat lie. As much as I like to tell my story, it motivates me more when people like and read my story. But that’s not the main reason why I’m doing this. I’m doing this because this is what makes me happy. This is my escape from reality. And having people read and like my story is a bonus for me.

Making friends in this community

I’m a very shy person in real-life. No joke. I would refuse to make eye contact with anyone in real-life because I am scared of people 💀

When I first reached out to @royalfamilyofgrimalldi​ for Maximillian’s Sr. ball (it was a public invite) when we both first started, I. Was. Scared. For real. I am very very scared because I’m talking to a stranger online and I have no idea how she’ll react to this potato reaching out to her for the event and I am very scared that she’ll say, “No, you can’t join this. LEAVE MY PRESENCE!” (yes, I am overthinking things 💀). I really love her story and urgh, I’ve been so attached to her characters since day 1 (I still haven’t forgiven you for killing off Eleanor /sobs). I’ve never expected that this one event would lead into us planning for Ginny’s and Rainier’s story. And everyday, I’m thanking my lucky stars that she has been very very welcoming and very friendly to me up to this day. I don’t deserve your friendship. You are too kind to me 😭.

And then I continue on to make new friends in this community who are just...urgh! So kind, so nice and ahhhhh I don’t deserve any of you!!! You people are too amazing! You know who you are! (I love you guys sm, you guys meant a lot to me ;___;)

What I want to say is, if you want to make friends in this community, make sure you’re not doing this because you wanted the exposure. Again, make friends because you sincerely want to be friends. If you’re reaching out to another person because you want your blog to be known, they will know.

Sincerity, people can feel it

I can’t tell you to stop comparing yourselves to others who’ve already had an established audience because this is unavoidable (I still compare myself to others sometime lol). You will at some point compare yourself to the bigger fishes but you need to remember why you’re here in the first place. Are you here to be famous or are you here to tell a story? If your intentions when you first started is because you want to be famous, then, it’s easier for you to be demotivated because your only drive in doing this is because you wanted the numbers and you want to be someone ‘big’ in the community. And if the reason that you started this all is because you wanted to tell a story, then you might stay longer despite no interactions from your readers because the thing that drives you forward is your eagerness to tell your story. 

Being sincere is something that is hard to do. If you’re doing this without sincerity, people can feel it. And in writing, people can feel a certain way when they read your story. The emotions they felt depends on your sincerity when you wrote it. Oh god, I sound sappy, sorry guys 💀

But I’m being serious. Write with sincerity. If you write a story with your whole emotions in it, your readers can feel it and they can relate to it because if you, the writer, feel what your character’s are feeling, it’s working. (I kid you not, I still feel the pain from writing BelleMery’s breakup scene and Irene’s death scene. It took me a week to get over it 😭)

I think that’s all I want to say. I think at some point while writing this long-ass essay I kinda went all over the place. Sorry 💀

Also, I’m not sure if I’m qualified to write this, I’ve only been here for a year and I think there’s other royal simblrs out there who have been doing this for a lot longer than I do 💀

I know I’ve said this a lot of times before and you’re probably annoyed of this by now but I appreciate you all for reading my story. Truly. I don’t know how else should I show my appreciation but I will try my damn hardest to give you guys a story to read.

I don’t know how long I’ll be around, but I want to keep surprising myself. Maybe I’ll retire one day, who knows right? But for now, I want to enjoy my time here and tell a story while I still have one to tell. And if one day I do decide to retire, I want to look back at my time here with *cringe* fondness. God, I sound old 💀. If you cringe while reading this, then you and me both my dudes because I too, cringe at this. But hey, this is my journey to get to where I am now. And I’m kinda proud of it?

congratulations on your follower mile stone! I only recently started following your blog but I love that you share your thought process behind your sims and your posts. I really enjoy reading them! can I hear more about your inspiration to do a historical-vintage blog? what are your favorite time periods to recreate with the sims and why?

First, a little tangent: I started playing this series 20 years ago. There have been some gap years since then: my computer couldn’t handle TS3 when it came out so I only notched a few hours of total play time before sticking with TS2; I’d heard bad things about TS4 and myself wasn’t wowed by the base game so I put it aside for a long while. I’ve never had a simblr before this year (I started one in March, almost immediately deleted it, and then resurrected this account in May after someone on reddit asked me for a download + CC list of a sim I’d shared there; I needed somewhere to put all that info and so…). I never had any account for simming no matter which platform was popular: no Livejournal account, nor a Dreamwidth account, nor a GoS account, nor an MTS account, on and on and on. I only ever lurked the community though I felt like I knew everyone in it! But this year, I wanted to keep track of other simmers on tumblr who I liked, and I needed a quarantine distraction from work + panic, and so here I am. Operating this account has been an exercise, too, in managing myself and self-esteem: not letting myself fall into some of my kneejerk behaviors like trying to please others, apologizing (for nothing; for “me”), putting myself down, comparing myself to other people who I imagine are all perfect and talented and objectively better. My inclination, when I write wordy posts or give “too much information” about my sims is to delete and keep it simple, and that certainly gets me more notes, but… this is who I am. Not that it’s that deep! But it’s good to have perspective and behave accordingly: it’s just a blog with pictures of sims. It’s just a game. I felt like writing, it’s my little blog, who cares? I’m not doing it for notes or likes or whatever. What do I have to apologize for? What do I have to fix?

All this to say thank you that you are enjoying reading about my process. I enjoy writing about my process, whether mundane or not. I enjoy treating this blog like a blog when I feel called to do so.

Can I hear more about your inspiration to do a historical-vintage blog? 

Sure! 

If you’d like to read more about my save and my plans for it, I have a link to that featured in my navigation menu. It is HERE for any and all who are interested and includes references and pictures I’m hoping to use as inspiration for world-building and character creation.

Basically, why I’m doing this is very simple: I like old stuff. I like vintage stuff. I like retro stuff. I love old photographs, old furniture, old music, old clothes, old movies. I love references and inspirations and art. I hate the internet. I hate my sims taking out their phones every two seconds and stuntin’ for the ‘gram and whatever else. I am forced to use too much internet and social media at work but in real life I have this blog and a neglected Pinterest account and a neglected reddit account and that is it and that has always been it, with the tumblr and reddit accounts only begun this calendar year. I’m not a luddite; I mindlessly scroll more than I should and I have favorite Vines (RIP) just like the other girls and how else can I stuff my game with CC if not over WiFi, but really, there’s so much of the *NOW* in TS4 that takes me out of and away from what I love about this series because it’s so invasive. This is where I could go on another tangent about how--through what EA, et al purports is endless gameplay possibilities--TS4 actually gives us less choice when it comes to overall gameplay but that is not the question I’m answering.

Beyond wanting to return my sims to a simpler time in terms of technology and their personal interactions, I’m totally doing it for the aesthetic. If I had my way, if I could choose the world’s aesthetic, the world’s advances in terms of, again, the technology in our pockets, it would span between 1920 and, like, 1995 and how exciting that I actually can build a little world that does just that. I can dress my little dolls exactly how I want and make some of them use the washboard! I can’t curate planet earth but I can make damn sure that all the teenage girls in Brindleton Bay wear circle skirts to the diner.

Also, related to doing whatever I want, I get to have the things I love, the world and gameplay I love but apply more progressive values to it. Yes, all the teenage girls in Brindleton Bay wear circle skirts to the diner but the teenage girl who prefers to wear a mechanic’s jumpsuit isn’t going to be looked at askance or be isolated or teased or made to conform or beat up or, best case scenario, need to shoulder the burden of trailblazer or need to shoulder the burden of being The Girl Who Wears A Mechanic’s Jumpsuit even if everyone thinks it’s cool, she’s just… herself. And yes, the world looks like 1955 but it isn’t 1955, or, it’s a parallel 1955. This girl wears a jumpsuit but her girlfriend wears a circle skirt and none of my sims bat an eye.

I also love, love, love looking at other simmers’ historical stories and gameplay. They’re consistently so clever with both CC and in-game content that it’s impossible not to be inspired, and that got my wheels turning.

And, lastly, I’m a CC addict. Limiting my aesthetic and applying rules to my save goes a long way to cull my collection and to keep me from going on a tear that might make my computer explode. It’s much easier for me to delete a bunch of dresses that aren’t appropriate for the parameters of my game than to delete a bunch of dresses because I “should,” because I have “too much stuff.”

What are your favorite time periods to recreate with the sims and why?

I’m partial to the 1950s because it is the easiest. It seems that so many creators make a lot of content that--even if it’s only described as “vintage”--is from the 50s. I mentioned circle skirts above. How many times have I done a broad search for vintage or retro and got circle skirts back? The 1950s isn’t my favorite time period, though; again, it’s just so easy to recreate. Lately I’ve enjoyed making a range of 70s sims and hope I can find a home for them all. I like, too, trying to fit content that I don’t usually use or which I think I don’t like into my version of a particular decade’s or era’s look because it often changes my opinion of the content (especially non-CC) so that I see it with new eyes/better appreciate it, and this practice helps me to hone my abilities and increase my comfort and familiarity with whatever time period I’m working with.

In real life, although I had a long art deco phase, my absolute favorite design aesthetic is mid-century modern. I’ve always loved it, and that love intensified and deepened a few years ago when I started writing my novel--not to sound like a jerk, but it’s true!--which is set in the mid-to-late 1960s. I started doing research and putting together inspiration boards which included, in part, house plans and interior design and for my tastes, I’m sorry, mcm just cannot be beat. I cannot get enough! TS4’s art style is so complementary to the mcm aesthetic that it’s impossible not to fall in love with how it looks in the game, whether it’s CC or not, so that’s my favorite in-game decorative period.

When it comes to clothing and fashion, I have a little bit that I like from every era, really, but if we’re speaking generally and I’m being forced to choose, I (think I) like best male/masculine looks and styling from the 1950s to about… 1963? 1965?, although I prefer a slimmer cut to the suits and pants; and feminine/female looks and styling from the 1930s and 1970s. I perceive a similar combined sensuality, ease, and sportiness in the 30s and 70s silhouettes as well as the prevailing attitudes and approach to fashion that speaks to me. I just love it--but I need more of it for my sims, so I can’t say it’s necessarily my favorite to try and recreate. Yet, anyway.

Your name: Noora. 

Languages you speak: Finnish, English. And some Japanese. Like I can understand and speak and write simple sentences and could probably hold a simple conversation.

Are you a mermaid?: I’ve loved mermaids ever since I was a kid. Like, no lie, I’ve always wanted to be one. I’m planning on having the 1975 Reader’s Digest version of the little mermaid tattooed at some point, it’s the one mermaid movie I have always loved. (Surprisingly, I have never been too into the Disney one. I love Part of Your World but that’s about it.) My first long story plans were mermaid stories.

Your play style: The best hoods and families I’ve had have always started in a spur of a moment. And I keep changing everything all the time, deleting lots and switching from subhood to subhood, but my sims stay! I grow ridiculously attached to my babies and play them with love. I love all the general gameplay aspects of the game: building and decorating and the gameplay itself. All of it. I play in weekly cycles. ALSO for someone who claims to love the game I play extremely rarely. But when I do, I play for several days straight.

Your favorite season: In sims, spring and summer. In real life, fall and summer. 

Your favorite holiday: It’s a cliché, but out of all the holidays I do like christmas. The christmas eve is one of my favorite days in a year. 

How was your day?: Very good, actually! I woke up around 8 am after sleeping a little badly, but then I started the day by baking bread buns and continued on to do some school stuff that have been waiting for me to do them (university has been kinda overwhelming lately). In the evening we made pizza, I played some Fallout 4 and now I’m here. A good day, all in all! 

Your favorite career: I love so many! Criminal, definitely. Also Military and Law Enforcement. And Adventure!! And Paranormal. I can’t choose one. 

Your favorite aspiration: Knowledge and family. 

Your favorite EP, GP and SP: I think my favorite expansion is Nightlife. It was the first expansion I got. Out of stuff packs I’m gonna say the glamour one. The stuff packs aren’t anything special imo, though. 

How old is your simblr?: Oh, wow. I’ve made my first post in October 2015. It’s my 5 year anniversary this year! 

Have you WooHooed?: Sure.

Your favorite skill: To be honest, I like all of them equally. But I’m gonna say.... Fitness (Body?).

The size of your mods folder: 8,57 G! I was expecting it to be bigger!

Your 3 favorite mods: Most mods I have are fixes and stuff that remove annoying behaviour. Visitor Controller is new to me but it’s a life saver! Also I’ve really liked how the Romance mod is working in my game, but I have also been thinking about getting ACR. Other than that it’s hard to say. 

Your interests (other than Sims): Writing, drawing, video games.

But to be honest, I kinda wish to gain a new favorite sim some time soon, since Greta has now passed on from my game! Rayna Limestone is very close to being my favorite, and I have high hopes for Ruby Limestone once she grows up!

Which Sims games have you played (including mobile games)?: Games 1-4 on PC, however I gotta add I only used to play TS3 on my sister’s computer (even though I do own it and multiple expansions), and I never really got into TS4 (I only play it to recreate Greta for the millionth time lol). I LOVE the PS2 version of TS2 as well as The Urbz! I have the PSP version of TS2 as well, but I haven’t played it much. I’ve tried all the mobile games but tbh I hate them. Oh, and I bought Life Stories but I haven’t played it yet. 

Propose a crazy scheme: OMG I’m going to second epi’s idea: let’s break into the EA headquarters and steal TS2 source code. Just imagine what people could do with it. 

Best part of simblr: My experience has only been good, and I like the uplifting mood of the community. 

Worst part of simblr: To be honest, it’s the fact that Tumblr is not the ideal way to follow a lot of blogs, and I think it sucks that I don’t see all the content I want since I follow so many blogs. 

What other games you play?: Far Cry 5 has been my major obsession lately, but to name a few all time favorites: Saints Row 1-2, The Long Dark, Mass Effect, The Batman Arkham games, Dishonored, Skyrim. Lately I’ve been playing Fallout 4 and I’m still new to Bioshock (Infinite) and The Outer Worlds. I think there’s a theme here......... I like 1st/3rd person action/role playing games. To be honest I’m kinda picky with my games. It’s either love a game with all my heart or forget about it after first play. 

Other websites or accounts (Origin, Twitter, etc.): I guess only one worth mentioning is my Dreamwidth and I don’t even use it, lol. Whenever I get those simstories up and running they will be posted on Dreamwidth though! Also check out my personal blog @notsometownie​.

Are you single?: You know, I have never been an adult and single at the same time. And I’m 28. (Means me and gf have 10 year anniversary this year.)

A lookback at 2018

I’ve been on Tumblr for almost a year now. Wow. It does and doesn’t feel that long at the same time. Very weird concept. I used the mega editor to take a quick look at the overview of my blog and wrote down any memorable moments that stood out to me :)

This was more for myself than anyone else, but maybe you all will find it interesting too.

Feb: I started my blog in February of this year. I had never used Tumblr before then. I had no idea what I was doing and mostly just posted a lot of weird edits.

March: I think this is when I found other simblrs telling stories with their sims and I really wanted to try that out too. I posted Vanille’s intro and tried and failed with the Ice Cream Simdae and BPR that month.. quit them both and deleted the posts... wish I hadn’t now lol..... I also started sim requests and got 6 that month (by the way sim requests are pretty much always open). The tail end of March is when I hit 100 followers, which is still CRAZY to me to even think.

April: More sim requests. A couple that were on Tumblr that on it that persons game <333333. Sienna for @jelizabethmarieb and Orpheus for @seraphinabelle! Also “doot doot” anon was a thing. I requested my first sim from @seraphinabelle, who will still be around a little once I get back to my Musique Des Sims. It was my birthday, I posted my face for the first time, and I hit 200 followers (CRAZINESS)

May: May is when I really kicked it into gear when I started my 100 baby challenge. I don’t think I’ve missed a day by accident since I started posting it. I think. It has been a real blast playing with this colorful family. We’re on gen 3 and honestly, I haven’t gotten sick of it. Some of my favorite sims have come out of this challenge.

Made a request for Porter from @berrybloomsims, who also will show up in Musique Des Sims for a brief period. Introduced you guys to Quartz, the founder for Musique Des Sims and started it. Didn’t get very far though before I put it on hiatus.

June: A few sim requests here and there. Continued on with the 100 baby, started gen 2 in fact, my cat had kittens irl (we ended up keeping 2 of them), @berryconfetti started my challenge, and I started my Seasons of Gnomes challenge. And to kick it all off, I hit 400 followers! I think I must have been busy around the 300 mark and by the time I had time to make anything, I was close to 4 anyway so I waited.

July: 100 baby challenge still going strong, Seasons of Gnomes was continued. I put up a post asking for spouses for the 100 baby challenge (still waiting on those btw @grassamere @samssims xD for real tho, no rush you still have a lot of time <3). @27ccfinds made me made me a cute edit of what used to be my side blog for Big Sister/Runaway Teen! Still can’t believe that, how sweet! <3 I made Cleo and entered her in @ashleysimmer11 ‘s Next Top Model! Hard to believe she’s in the top two! :D and then Ashley binge read my 100 baby challenge xD

August: 100 baby and Seasons of Gnomes still going strong, which is surprising for me, my kitties were growing up, posted my ballerina edit which I still love, had my second binge reader @princesspeach9090, and had my first wedding anniversary <3

September: Still posting 100 baby and Seasons of Gnomes! Go me! I made this sim just for fun and ended up re-purposing an old side blog for a game play based Not So Berry. @jelizabethmarieb made her spouse! Ashley made me pick a favorite Macaroon child. Aaaaand I made a Fall look book for 600 followers, using my gen 2 NSB heir for the model.

October: I participated in Simblreen for the first time. Oh boy, it was fun, but stressful. So. Many. Asks. I made 3 different treats and did it all weekend. (1 2 3). We were just about done with gen 2 for the 100 baby challenge, and gen 2 was in full swing for Seasons of Gnomes uuuntil it went on hiatus that month. I released some of my simmies into the world for my 700 follower milestone.

November: Gen 3 of 100 baby started, Cleo made it into the top 3 of Next Top Model, and I started my Rags To Riches, which you all seem to be liking a lot.

December: Buckle up, I did quite a bit this month xD

- Started my Youtube channel back up and got 20 subs on it! Woop! <3

- Participated in the “log off protest”

- Started a new project with @little-sims

- Started preparing more for gen 2 of my NSB

- Made a cute Poppy and Neptune edit

- Made some of the cutest random sims ever, which will be used for something later on in 2019

- CLEO MADE IT TO TOP TWOOO!

- Took one of the cutest screenshots I’ve ever taken.

- Made a new side blog for my story based saves! Which you all helped name :)

- Got the ABSOLUTE CUTEST anon message ever

- Submitted a name for @purpleleopard96 ‘s bachelorette challenge

I have had the BEST time on here this year. Sure, it’s got some drama, but what community doesn’t, especially online, but I’ve made some people I call friends on here.

I’ve started and ended a lot of projects. I’ve managed to keep my 100 baby challenge going without getting bored of it once which is a feat in itself. I hope to continue this for a long time to come. New BPR, possibly 2 actually, one story based, one game play based, Seasons of Gnomes, and Musique Des Sims to come over on the new blog starting sometime in Jan! I finally got most of the character page done for my BPR so I can start shooting it soon.

But at the same time, my posting will probably have to slow down again because I’m going to be trying to get a job soon not looking forward to that AT ALL

But yeah, thanks for sticking around with me and reading my stuff. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do making it. And if you made it this far, you are an ANGEL and I love you!

anyways hey today 65 years ago, hornetbodies was pushed out of the womb. shoutout sunny’s mom whose name i always forget and interchange with various of the same name....... no but yeah why can’t i be serious rn im scjafaogsd OK. for real though sunny is my best friend on here and my best friend in the ~real world~ and every time i think about how long i followed her and how long she was literally the only one showing attention to things i did and how much she remembers EVERYTHIGN i’ve ever done and loved everything enough to care about it i want to cry... we literally started from the bottom.. now we here.. i knew from the second i followed sunny all those yearz ago that we were so similar and even though it took us forever to start talking (see that message in that pic, that’s literally the first time she ever messaged me except once i said merry christmas to her in her ask box and said i was santi’s mistress and that’s how me and santi started dating :/) anyways yeah as soon as we started talking i kNEW that we were like soulmate friends or something gay like that like we are so alike and have similar humor but without being THAT similar at the same time does taht even make sense.. wow i love being a writing major !  everyday i think about how she’s literally my partner in crime and how she always gets my stupid jokes and supports every single thing i do and is one of the greatest people and friends i’ve ever known..... never have i met someone so loyal and trustworthy and rational and easy going but funny and creative and intelligent and just all around a great, genuine person who is always teaching me something new. And how would someone keep it from becoming flat, and continue writing it past writers block? Some tips on developing a character inside the story would also be fantastic. Coming from someone who has only written novels and poetry, any advice on writing short pieces to go with photos is greatly appreciated! Sincerely, Mel. PS: This is 100% Real

Wow Mel, hit me with the heavy questions why don’t you Q_Q But you know, as someone who also made the switch from novel writing to sim story format, I kind of know where you’re coming from. Hence we begin…

Jade’s Mega-Fantastic Tips For Adapting to Sim Story Format 

#DearJade to block, as this is an extremely LONG post. 

Disclaimer: These tips don’t apply to everyone. The general rule of simblr is to have fun and DO WHAT YOU WANT. This advice is only really aimed at people who are serious about the craft and want to improve on their writing and how to present it in this medium. Not everyone takes it this seriously, and not everyone needs to. But for those of you who are looking for more direction with your writing, this is my personal, and humble advice. The fact that I titled this “mega-fantastic” was 100% sardonic. I’m just a chick on tumblr. I have a B.A. in English with a focus on creative writing, and nearly 6 months of simblr experience. These are my only qualifications. So, with that being said, don’t listen to anything I say from this point onward. 

How to Begin:Everyone’s writing processes are different. Some people like to map things out, while others tend to go with the flow. If your goal is to write some sort of cohesive linear storyline, and not just sporadic bouts of gameplay, then it’s good to have at least an idea of where you want to end up. Some point to make within your story, or some goal for your main character to accomplish. That way, all the things you do between point A and point B will have a similar thread, and you’re less likely to get lost on random tangents. 

General writing tips: Start with something interesting! Introduce your new characters in an exciting way. If you’ve never heard the phrase “in media res”, now’s a good time to learn it. Start in the middle, at the beginning. It’s nice to already have something going on at the beginning of your story, and don’t put too much time into explaining who all your characters are, what they do, what they like… right up front. It will engage people with your story more if you start off with action instead of description. 

Presentation: Since you’re writing a sims story, you have to think double time. Here, writing is only half of the work. Which is why simblr writers really don’t get enough credit! Think about how you want your scene to reflect in photos. The first sims story I did, I made the mistake of writing it in it’s entirety as a novel, and then having to take “necessary photographs” to go with each scene. I ended up with a great deal of pictures of people walking around aimlessly, or standing in the same room talking, or sitting on a chair talking, or on a couch talking… You get the point. You can still write as a novel and adapt it (which is still what I do), but I would recommend writing your scenes with your blog in mind. Think  “This scene could happen in their kitchen, but what if I moved it to a park instead?”, better scenery, probably more angles/more things to look at. Try to be creative with your screenies. Experiment with different angles. Think about your favorite movies, and the ways they are filmed. Try to incorporate those elements into your pictures. Sims stories have a certain cinematic quality to them, so write with that in mind, because how interesting your photos are will draw more people in to read your writing. Trust me. 

Character Development:Understand that the vast majority of sim stories and legacies unfold over enormous amounts of real life time. If you’re afraid of longterm writing commitments, you should probably run away screaming! No, I’m kidding (kind of), but they are huge commitments. I know people who have been writing their legacies for years. My first sims story took four months to complete and was around 75,000 words in its extracted tumblr form. My point is, it’s going to take a lot of time. Which is great! Because character development takes time. My advice for adapting character development to sims stories is to make sure every scene has a point. If you want to make a post just for fun, that’s great too! But when it comes to scenes that move your plot forward, answer the question “What does this accomplish?”, “Why is this particular scene necessary?”, “Would the story be the same if this didn’t happen?”. 

Simblr writers can spend hours putting together a post. I would think that is a pretty accurate statistic. From the writing, to building the set, clothing your sims, downloading CC, posing them, taking photos, and then editing the photos, each 3-4 pictures you take for a particular scene probably consumed precious long minutes of your life. So make sure that it’s an important scene that you’re spending all this time on. And, of course, just like most anime fans will tell you, FILLER EPISODES SUCK Q_Q (Not always. But sometimes). Anyways, sim story format sometimes forces you to consider what is vital to a story and a character, as we usually make posts to highlight specific moments in our sim-babies lives. I think development is really inherent to this medium, so I wouldn’t worry too much about if your character is developing or not.

General writing tips:

Dialogue is important!

How your character reacts to things is important!

Formatting:There are many different ways to format your sim story, and none of them are wrong. Do what you are comfortable with. If you’re coming from writing novels or short stories, then paragraph format is a great way to go. You can do caption writing, which is writing your text (typically dialogue and similar to playwriting in effect) directly onto your screenshots. You can do textual playwriting, which would be to have short exposition to setup a scene followed by tagged dialogue:

Maria: I went to the store yesterday.Bob: Really? What did you need to get there?Mari: Oh, I just had to pick up a few things for the party Saturday. 

These are the three most highly used formats I have seen used on simblr. I think they all work great, and you can even mix them. Just do what you are comfortable with and what you prefer. Don’t try to stretch yourself to change the style of your writing just to match what other people are doing. 

General writing tips:

One thing I will say is to be wary of your Point of View (or PoV). If you are using multiple PoV’s (as in you swap them between posts) then you should label whose PoV it is for your readers (I do so in my tags), if you use captions, usually changing font color to depict two or more players is the way to go. If you would like to switch PoV within the same post, I recommend using third person point of view e.g. “Bob walked here. Maria said this.”

And how would someone keep it from becoming flat… As I mentioned above, the best thing you can do here is just to make sure your scenes are vital to the plotline, or character development in some way. Don’t bog down your stuff with useless scenes, if your goal is to write a cohesive story. There is a #ts4 gameplay tag for a reason. It is not the same tag as #ts4 story, and people who follow one tag, may not necessarily want to follow the other. As a reader, I’m interested in the storyline. Is your character involved in some shady business? Are they going to find out that their loser husband is cheating on them? I don’t really want to see three different posts devoted to your sim cooking eggs for breakfast. SORRY. #justiceforeggs

General simblr tips:

@medleymisty has recently incorporated the usage of #simnovel for longer text posts. I think this is an excellent step forward for hobby sim story writing. So you can use this tag if you thing it applies to your work!

….and continue writing it past writers block? I can’t answer this! I am not a magician, unfortunately. Sometimes inspiration comes and sometimes inspiration goes. Writers block is a legit thing, and if I had a super-fix for it, I would hand it out lovingly to the world’s writers. But since I don’t, I will say that you shouldn’t pressure yourself ahead of time. Don’t think you need to post regularly. Go at your own pace. If you need a break? Take one. Just bounce right on out the door. I hear there’s a new Mass Effect game out. Go play it! Tumblr will still be here where you come back. 

Remember, this isn’t your job, it’s a hobby. As for how to get inspired or stay inspired, I really feel motivated to work on my sim stories when I am having fun, either playing the game, or putting together some scenes. So just have fun with it. Make Pinterest boards. Dudes, Pinterest is so great for writers, utilize it as a tool! Make character boards and pin things that you remind you of your babies and go look at the beautiful pictures when you’re feeling stuck. Share your boards, too! Lots of simblr’s have pinterests and you can follow them, they’ll follow you back, it’s great. Fantastic. But yeah, just have funnnn and do your thing and when you’re not feeling it, don’t try to force it, because you’ll just regret it and start to resent your stuff, and it’s just a bad time.

Thank you dear. But I guess I’ll always feel insecure in English. I have no intimacy with the language, and I know it. But I guess I feel insecure about my writing even in my own idiom, and I guess that is a writer’s thing -- and a good thing too, as long it feels challenging and doesn’t keep one from writing!

also, if I may be stoopid..this is post #69 for your story..i think certain of your readers..not me..were expecting something "commemorative" of this number.

This is the second #69 of this story, since I restart from #00 with every new chapter. But I do understand you, since we left Alvar and Tobio making out at #66, and declarations-of-drama raised the expectations about post #69... I wasn’t going to make Tobio’s dream last so long, be just a few pictures in the update of their encounter, but you know me... The pictures from the desert sequence looked nice, and I love going into the inner world of my characters more than anything, and we’ve seen the result here. 

We’ll have something sexier now, but an actual 69 was never intended for Tobio and Alvar! But there will be other #69 posts along the story, and who knows what might happen with other characters?

Until he could go on no longer. . . The wall represents the edge of his universe - it stops him from escaping the desert?

Truth is... I visualized Tobio’s dream, and then, with TS3 elements,  just took some screenshots of it, with the poses and CC I had already installed... 

But I must say I am not sure what these symbolic things mean. Is it too crazy to say I just wrote it down? Almost as words were being dictated? And somethings I can’t interpret or clarify since they are not clear for Tobio himself... I don’t feel like the almighty creator when I write, but much more like a vehicle to the story... I am Tobio in this scene, and his confusion is, to some extent, mine too. 

So as a reader you can interpret it as you like, and it will be correct, too!

Wondering if you have ever engaged in lucid dreaming....where one learns to control dream scenarios while still immersed in them. This sounds like that may be happening with the new start point of the dream.

Have you? I did some Dream Yoga -- and Goggle tells me “Tibetan Dream Yoga is the original form of lucid dreaming documented for at least 1,000 years.” So I guess I did... But Tibetan is not the form of Buddhism which I used to practice -- Zen was --, and it did not last longer than a retreat I took with a Tibetan master... 

It’s interesting that you have mentioned it, for I intend to get Alvar involved with Tibetan Buddhism -- I have already mentioned it en passant, the period of time he spent in Sikkim --, but not Tobio, so maybe I’m mixing things in this dream?

You’re very right and that’s a lovely association, though I didn’t think of his paintings while creating this scene... For LoSSS, I’m taking many references from cinema, and I was thinking a bit of Bertolucci’s The Sheltering Sky, and the wonderful plateau scene with Kitty and Port... Have you watched it? I’m even listening to Sakamoto’s soundtrack in my mind right now!

How does this dream equate to his personal life? I am guessing that his recent activity with Alvar has shown him a keyhole peep to his passions behind his shame? A huge ocean of desires he has to constantly hold back?

I have brought this dream of Tobio’s into the text in the moment of his making out with Alvar -- but he has been dreaming it since adolescence, and his “activity” with Alvar is just too recent -- in fictional terms, it is currently going on, still -- to bear any influence of that yet... In the next sequence I’ll try to link both things and tenses, though.

An interpretation to it has been provided by @willky12, and I could have not said it any better: “Recurring dreams on deserts and walking through endless desert represents torment and struggle in ones self. Finding the ocean or a body of water represents a relief, a change for the better, or an awakening within. All this is very true of Tobio and fit perfectly with the story.”

Like I said above, I have just written this passage, and probably many readers are better skilled to interpret and understand it,  a whole lot more than myself!

When you referenced the Duino Elegies (#1) a few days back, I wondered how that would work into your story..

In the end, I did not include any mention on Rilke in the text, for I thought it did not suit Tobio, who is not into Literature at all. I think of him as a techinical and yet practical person, and that reflects on his choice of readings. 

But that first sentence from the first Elegy has stayed with me from the first time I read it -- for it was so meaningful to me, translating into lyrical words my own moments of desperation -- and it was the inspiration for the visual rendition of this part of Tobio’s dream.

There is no absolute right or wrong, dear! Tobio sees them as Angels of Desire, but also as warriors... So you might see them as you like, and bring a new interpretation to my text. 

I don’t pretend to consciously know everything about my characters, and have the final word on any of them!

Deadly perfection is a term Tobio could use, too! 

The angels are using Lady FrontBum’s Metallic Swimsuit, and though it is bulgy enough, it can always be improved with Photoshop, I guess (actually, the intention in editing is to give them a little variation, and not necessarily increase their size)

Wow, how his brain has been shaped by his circumstances. I totally think I get what you are doing here - his subconscious dreams resonate from deep suppression, too fearful to even face them almost? Too perfect to comprehend? The hidden desert is almost comfortable for him? The force of these Angels and what they represent must be gargantuan to him!

That is pretty much my understanding, too. In everyday life, these angels of deadly perfection are his colleagues, the athletes he works with, and any man really, capable of arousing Tobio’s desire... Though as an oneiric representation the men might be a lot bigger and more intense than in life -- Gargantuan, as you put it! And the desert, which is his own life lived under repression, though uncomfortable to the point of torture, is still better than incurring in sin, or going with the angels, or diving into the dam...

I almost mentioned that the God Tobio fears, the God of Catholicism, Protestantism and Judaism, is a God that emanates from the deserts and arid, impoverished regions where these peoples lived in the very beginning of their religions -- and their God and religion bear many of the most harsh characteristics of the desert where they sprung up...

There is so much to bring into each passage, but the main purpose is to be entertaining, and pertaining to the story and the characters, and not some treaty on religion, or so I have tried...

Such torment. I wonder if you researched recurring dreams for this update? There is a lot of evidence in this type of recurring dream that relates to Tobio very well.

 Like I said in our exchange of messages, I did not research anything -- of what I first named “recurrent dreaming”, and that thanks to you has been corrected to recurring... I wrote this intuitively, or simply trying to see it from Tobio’s perspective... I believe to have read that water is a symbol for sexuality, probably in Jung’s Man and his Symbols, that I have leafed through two decades or more ago... Truth is I did not prepare myself properly to write this passage, and I could never have interpreted the symbols in Tobio’s dream like you did.

No way, simmeronnie is doing replies again? :o It’s been a month, I know. It’s been hard, exams and all that. I’ve talked about that a lot. Now I’m in so much better place. I’ve read what I wrote in my diary a few months ago (February and March to be exact) and wow...just wow. If you compare me from now to me from those months, you wouldn’t even believe we’re the same person. Right now, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a while. Back then, I’m honestly surprised I didn’t give up. I was so tired of everything.

Onto something else. I thought I’d catch up on a lot of blogs now that my graduation is done, but actually, I got carried away reading a good book (and therefore I didn’t actually catch up on too many blogs). Guys, you all need to read Illuminae. I finished the trillogy today and man, it was so good. Don’t get intimidated by how big the books are, yesterday I read over 400 pages and I didn’t even know how. It’s just so good. Read it. Seriously. I hope you like a good plot twist because these books are full of them. It’ll leave you speechless.

I’m just excited I can read books that have nothing to do with exams again, okay? Tomorrow I’m starting...I’m not sure. Probably The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan. FINALLY.

Anyway, blog stuff. I thought I’d only do the latest replies since my activity feed was broken, but now I was able to scroll down a lot. I wasn’t paying attention and suddenly I was at comments from April. So yeah, that thing I screamed about this week, apparently it’s fixed itself. Though I’m still not sure if it shows all of the comments. Oh well. I worked with what I was able to get.

By the way, in these replies, I did not include the “congrats” comments when I said I got through my exams. But I saw you all, and honestly, thank you so much. I was thinking about this the other day, and I think one of the reasons why I made it through high school was simblr. This is my happy place. Most of the time.

I can’t explain how I felt writing this. I’m not too empathetic when it comes to other people (and it sucks), but when it comes to “ok how would my character feel in this scene”, I’m immediately in their shoes, and let me tell you, I actually cried, even though I knew damn well how it was going to end. But I also knew what was happening next, and that’s why I cried too. Writing is weird sometimes.

There indeed WAS something wrong with her. I hinted at it a few times, sometimes it was just a little thing that probably only I saw as foreshadowing, but it kept getting more and more obvious towards the end. And wow. Yeah. She really went that far.

Also, can I just say, I weirdly enjoyed seeing how at first, everyone was like “yaaaaas, mermaid girlfriend”, whereas now it’s more like “oh no. OH NO. STAY AWAY FROM OUR GIRL”.

She just wants her. That’s her explanation. She doesn’t care about anything else, as long as her beloved human will stay right there in Isla Paradiso.

I’m just now thinking, how the hell did I go from the first story idea for Regan to this. In the original story, there were no creepy psycho mermaid girlfriends. There was...a lot of Bridgeport...some cheating...a lot of guilty feelings...more feelings towards Courtney...Felix didn’t end up with her in that storyline but there would be a love triangle with another person...and considering I’m not actually the biggest fan of love triangles, I as a writer am glad I somehow ended up with a psycho mermaid girlfriend story. It was way more interesting to figure out and write.

But if Regan could decide, I’m pretty sure she’d rather end up in a love triangle 😬

Let me tease you though: There’ll still be a lot of Bridgeport later.

So yeah this was the post where I kind of figured out something seems off... if I'm not mistaken there were also posts where George warns her but I didn't think much of them

One of the things I enjoy doing when I finish the first draft of something is going back and making hints. Tiny little pieces of foreshadowing. And then it grows and grows and gets more obvious. This was never going to end well. I think I already hinted at it when Regan was saying goodbye to her family before going to Isla Paradiso, though I’m not sure. But I think I left first little clues there.

Yeah I had to help myself with Photoshop here, there would be no other way to make it clear that she enchanted/brainwashed her. But damn, it would be cool if something like that was actually in the game. Sea creatures like mermaids don’t always have to be nice. What about sirens from the old mythology? I mean, what they did was getting people killed.

No, all jokes and dumb remarks aside, when I wrote Regan in this brainwashed state, it was so hard. Not that writing was hard, handling my feelings was hard. I knew she was hurting everyone and I had to keep going because I wanted to tell this story. Like I said, writing is weird sometimes.

Also, speaking of wizards...how convenient it is that her brother is one now? :D Which actually...I didn’t plan for him to become a wizard just to save her. I didn’t plan for him to befriend a fairy just to save her either. It just all sort of happened. Just like life, huh? Nothing is perfectly planned, you just have to play with whatever you have, and I was lucky this time.

She would. Honestly, I believe she would, if things weren’t already hard at home for her.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Miracle for everything she’s gone through? She was “unwanted” at school because she was half alien, she had to share a room with an awful bully at university, then when that hell was over, she became a mother to six children, and now this...when I think of all that has happened, I realize how strong she actually is, because none of this made her give up.

I’ve had so many issues with her story, but looking at her from this perspective, maybe I shouldn’t have.

It’s been like what, three weeks? Yeah. I wasn’t really in the mood for doing this.  Tired, stressed out, sad, lonely...senior year is a blast for sure :D 11/10 would recommend.

Speaking of loneliness...I’ve recently mentioned it a lot but I’ll just say it again. Lately I feel so alone and sort of disconnected from everyone here, I don’t know why. I’ll admit one thing - I guess I’m even kind of jealous, I see all those simblr friendships and then look at myself and wow. I don’t really talk to anyone, do I. A few people from time to time. I mean, I’m a dumbass, so I’m not really surprised but...anyway. Please continue commenting, keep sending your reactions, asks, anything, you’ll make my day. Also, ships. I want to have ships with other people but I’m too afraid to ask. If you want to ship your sim with my sim, you’ll have to take the first step because I’m an anxious dumbass :D

On another (much better) note, I’ve finished working on the first arc of Regan’s storyline. I don’t know when you’ll see it since the queue is so slow (I might speed it up in a month or so), but yeah. I’m there and ooh boy. Stuff is happening. You might hate me for what I did. But maybe not. Just saying. I kinda want to scream about it already.

TL;DR: I’m an anxious dumbass who loves comments and wants to make some friends. The first arc of Regan’s storyline is finished.

I've actually spent years trying to get which is my favorite fairy only to realize it's always been Bloom�� I can't even say why

And the first 4 seasons definitely were the best - the villains and stories were cooler and stuff and I remember how thrilled I was to watch the fairies' Entchantix (was it called so? ) transformation for the first time

Guys you have no idea how much I love these reactions because when I was growing up, people made fun of me for loving this show. I was scared it would backfire here as well. And it didn’t, yay! :D

I used to love Bloom when I was little. Then in middle school, Tecna became my favourite. I could somehow relate to her, I don’t know. She was kinda different and weird, I’m kinda weird too, I felt like they often overlook and ignore her, same here, she was into computers, I was into computers, etc. I even wanted to have her original haircut because I loved her so much :D You know, the one from season 1-4, the one so similar to that Fitness SP hair (which I used here).

As for seasons, my favourite was definitely season 4, I looooved the idea of Earth fairies, not to mention the villains were so cool too. Same with Valtor in season 3. Damn. I’m not thirsty for cartoon villains, I swear. But like if they were real people, they’d look so good. After season 4, things went super downhill, but I was still watching it because I had hope it could get better again. Nope. It didn’t. Still, it can’t take the good memories of the first four seasons away.

Man, I could ramble about this forever :D

Another week is ending, another replies post is here. Why is it that when there’s a million deadlines waiting for me, time just gets faster? I miss the old days when I had nothing to do. Kinda.

Remember when I rambled a lot in these posts before getting to the actual replies? I have nothing to say this time, other than Roses are coming back (which you’ve probably already noticed). I’m kinda sad to see gen 2 of NSB is truly coming to an end now (in my game, it’s been over for a few months). It was definitely an era and I want to thank everyone who’s been here for this crazy ride. It seems to me like you all enjoyed it way more than I expected. I hope you’ll stay and well, we’ll see them again in a few months. This time, Sunset will be in the spotlight.

I’ve only ever watched the first movie. I don’t remember it too much though. But I remember having like two Twilight posters from teen magazines on my wardrobe when I was about 11 because I wanted to be cool, even though I didn’t really know what it was. I just knew everyone was talking about it.

Oh hey, long time no replies. And these are the first ones of this year. I have a hard time replying now. It’s not like I don’t have time - I’m doing okay, actually. I mean, I wouldn’t complain if there was less homework, but still. Free time exists. It’s just that I can’t bring myself to replying to either comments or messages...I replied to asks quite quickly though, which is something unusual for me. Usually that’s where I’m slowest. I don’t know, is this another weird anxiety thing? Like I know I can reply, but I just...don’t?

Anyway...let’s get that done now I guess. There’s a lot of these, apologies if something got lost. Maybe it’s my fault, maybe it’s not, all I know is that sometimes my activity feed doesn’t show me everything.

I wish I could say I defeated it irl as well...things got better (mainly because I just had to get used to it and grow a thicker skin) but I’m still an anxious trainwreck 99 % of the time :D It’s the same online. 

Also, instead of actually starting a conversation with people, I’m always like “oh you know, if you feel like talking to me, just send me a message, I don’t bite” but the problem is I know there’s a lot of us like that here and I’m not the only one with this fear of communication so maybe I should be the one to find the courage once

Yeah, I love it! I mean, I don’t actually love it, there were some bad things happening, no freedom of speech and such, but for me, it’s an interesting era to learn about. I also think it’s important to know about these times because in a way, they’re still so similar to where we are now, we really should look back at them and try to not make the same mistakes...sadly, when I look at the situation in my country...sometimes it feels like people forget. Not just people like me who didn’t experience it and have only learned about it in History classes...feels like even people who have been there forget and it’s sad and frustrating and I wish I could do something about it. Okay rant over.
