one thing I'm gone do is treat every piece of news I read like a potential current events report. one of my least favorite kinds of 4th grade assignments, but you know what? you learn something even from shit you don't like, if you let yourself. it's just data. it needs context. why does it matter? to whom? and how? can you see why your classmates' articles mattered to them? can you empathize once you have that extra information to make the data fit like a puzzle piece into your world?
