Tbh I think this fandom needs to settle tf down. There is a not a single (mainish) character I can think of in mcd who doesn't act a little bit fucked up. You can like or dislike whomever you wish, but we are all pretending our fav didn't do some messed up shit. Jesson cannot write consistent characters and they most definitely cannot write characters without questionable morals or behaviors.
Too many people seem to get on a high horse about their favs in comparison to other peoples, and it leads to arguments cherry-picking actions on both sides. Let's be real for a second, none of us are writing these characters the way Jesson intended. We're taking their characters and restructuring them to better suit our personal preferences, morals, or story structures. Everyone's rewrite is about two steps away from original fiction. No one is justifying every bad action from a character by enjoying them. Some may justify some morally reprehensible things, but I'm under the impression most of us are simply ignoring the parts of characters that don't align with our view of the character (or reconstructing some morally dubious actions to properly be addressed within the plot).
In short, stop fighting over the block men being sexist. All of Jesson's block men are sexist. Every single one. If they aren't in mcd, they'll basterdize them to be in mystreet (sorry Dante). They all kinda suck at one point or another for one plot point or another. Let's try to stop acting like we're 10 year olds in the aar/laur/garmau wars PLEASE

wip wednesday 🫧
hi <3 i was tagged by @giddyupbuck, @fortheloveofbuddie, @wikiangela, and @daffi-990 mwah thank you all so much!
i've been working on the heart attack fic, so have a little something sweet before it all goes sour
Eventually, Eddie and Albert return from their search. Albert sidles up next to Buck and grabs hold of the hose, offering support, while Eddie jerks hard on Buck’s turnout to spin him around. Buck notices he’s not wearing his oxygen mask or air tank and immediately starts fussing.  Eddie accepts Buck’s fretting with a dirty, crooked smile. “Gave my tank to one of the victims,” he says. “I’m going to triage for some oxygen.”  Buck’s chest tightens and he squeezes Eddie’s shoulder. “You okay?” he asks, a half yell. Their radios aren’t needed; they’re close enough to read one another’s lips.   “Yeah,” Eddie answers, frowning. Buck can see his tight lips and pinched forehead, a crinkle in the middle of his brow, and it’s equal parts endearing and worrisome. “Just—can’t take a deep breath. Air’s hot.”  “Are you—” “Just out of air,” Eddie interrupts, smiling softly. He tugs on Buck’s turnout again, something he must’ve picked up from Chris, and Buck steps impossibly closer, knees knocking into Eddie’s. “I’m okay.”  Buck nods, as placated as he’s going to be. “Be careful.” He squeezes Eddie’s shoulder once again before dropping his hand. “Follow the hose.”  “I will.” Eddie’s smile grows, crooked and bright. He fists Buck’s turnout and pulls him close, butting his forehead against the visor of Buck’s mask like an affectionate dog. “See you out there, cowboy.”  Dazed, a little mesmerized and a lot in love, Buck watches Eddie follow the hose carefully, quickly, until his figure’s concealed by smoke and he alerts over the radio he’s made it outside. He shakes his head, clears the warm fuzzy feeling Eddie always seems to cultivate when he’s sweet, and gets back to work.  Albert nudges his shoulder. “What was that about?”  Buck grins, cheeks hot. “I’ll tell you when you’re older,” he replies, chuckling at Albert and Hen’s twin bark of laughter.
no pressure tagging @eddiebabygirldiaz, @eddiediaztho, @callmenewbie, @wildlife4life, @watchyourbuck, @disasterbuckdiaz, @rogerzsteven, @thewolvesof1998, @folk-fae, @hippolotamus, @loserdiaz, @honestlydarkprincess, @made-ofmemories, and @mysteriouslyyounggalaxy, and anybody else!!

alright jesus christ, I'm making another "if shit goes down" post:
If something kicks off in *ran, which I cannot stress enough IS CURRENTLY AT PEACE (the rest of my family is taking their afternoon siesta as I write this and I've got my shower stuff set out for later; things are quiet af except for the birds and the occasional bad driver revving an engine), they will cut off the internet inside *ran before they do anything else. They want to control the narrative and make sure we don't get out our pleas for help/information on what'll be happening here.
I've already seen a post on here where people are cheering for "*ran" because they helped H*zbollah hit an *sraeli target... guys, that's not *ran. That's the I R G C, an extremist terrorist organisation that controls *ran's resources (incidentally, just like H*zbollah controls L*banon!). The *ranian people are being held hostage as a nation by the *RGC. We aren't them and they most certainly are not *ranians. Don't get it twisted. The *RGC is trying to kick off a direct war after a long while of fighting their proxy wars through Palestine and S*ria... and I don't know why the fuck it's happening now.
I'm in the middle of a programming course and I'm scrambling to do my homework for the next two weeks before the internet goes. I'm going to pack survival backpacks for my family tonight; water, money, id, antiseptic cream... and you know what's driving me up the fucking wall about all this? It's that all this is happening after vacuuming the whole fucking house for *ranian New Years, tidying all the fronds on the rugs with a comb until they all ran parallel, scrubbing hard water stains off the taps and the house plant leaves until they gleamed, making up a whole new blossom-print duvet-pillowcase set for the beds, buying pretty Soviet-print antique enamelware and ceramic water jugs for extra-cool water this summer...
I don't want to flee my own fucking house, so painstakingly cleaned and pretty and so recently full of guests for the New Year, to go where? Turkey? Armenia? And what the fuck for? Because the donkey testicles who've taken charge here don't care if we live or die?
Post from: Sat 13 April 2024
Note: I censor *ran and other nouns that are in the news rn because I'm at risk of being found here through keyword searches, account tracing, etc. They might still find me this way, but I don't want to make it that easy. If you see anyone openly heehawing about the *RGC or H*zbollah in my replies/reblogs, they've found this post despite my efforts.
If you interact with the post, however, PLEASE use the uncensored nouns in your tags/replies.

I've been seeing more and more this idea that there are "simple" mental illnesses, like MDD, and it's really alarming the way people engage with those who they deem have "simple" illnesses.
Like, take for instance, how I saw somebody post how depression isn't "an excuse to be lazy" as though depression is as simple as "meh, I don't feel like doing things".
The thing about these "simple" disorders is that they are disorders. My depression has, to put it plainly, robbed me of much of my life. Depression isn't "laziness", it is the actual inability to do important things. Depressed people? We know that we have lives to attend to, but we aren't able to attend to them because we have a disorder. The inability to do the things we need or want to is, in fact, usually a major sign that we are depressed or have a depressive disorder in the first place.
Not to mention that depression is comorbid with other disorders such as panic disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other trauma disorders, body image disorders, and so, so many other disorders that makes our depression that much harder to address in many cases.
I really need people to stop sticking their nose up at people they feel superior to. These disorders - even in their own - are already complex enough. We don't need to know that you think we're awful people because we display the literal symptoms of our disabilities.

been getting steadily more enamored of nabooru and ganondorf as an ideologically differing friends to ideologically opposed tragic enemies arc (which tbf, is what I try to turn every ambiguous relationship into. i like it) and have hence been Revolving Things and might make a more serious post at some point. but primarily I've been playing with the idea of Ganondorf being extremely hidden away for his early childhood bc Koume and Kotake were taking no chances on anything happening to him/decided time that could be spent on distractions would be better utilized learning to violate the laws of nature and listening to their renditions of That's My Lullaby every night, so very few people have actually seen him by the time he's a young teen.
Nabooru has definitely not seen him, because she has no interest in even trying, because this whole king thing seems sort of dumb (she's an edgy rebel teen a free thinker and absolutely is not bitter at all at her dreams of being gerudo president being ruined, etc). Nabooru also doesn't have many friends, which is totally because she doesn't want any, BUT while hanging out at one of the archery areas at times when other people usually didn't go, she has started running into this weird silent butch girl who seems extremely skittish (will not stick around if other people are showing up?) but is really fucking good at archery, very down to spar, and y'know she isn't familiar but she's probably just from a different area and it's fine if she's mute, Nabooru can do the talking. She doesn't seem that impressed with Nabooru's opinions, but at least she doesn't interrupt!
that is until one day when Nabooru is halfway into her recurrent Fantasy Genetics Distributing XY Chromosomes Is No Basis For a System of Government rant and nearly has a heart attack when Koume and Kotake turn up out of the blue, yelling something about 'this is where you've been running off to' and 'driving your poor old mothers into the grave with worry' and 'impressive illusion magic to make it look like you were still in your room, though' and Weird Silent Butch Girl(???) turns to her and in a slightly deeper voice than the norm is like 'well this is awkward'

just now realising that it's kinda weird that every damn thing I did as a kid, even accidentally, still gets dragged out all the time as proof of how mean and bossy I was.
meanwhile one of my brothers stabbed my other brother with a screwdriver and it's just so funny. one of them jumped on my back when we were fighting and hurt me so bad that I couldn't get up for an hour (and I got yelled at). one of them broke someone else's property on purpose and it's just a funny anecdote about how he and his friend had to pay for the damage. they stole cash and very expensive alcohol, so funny and cute. they got drunk all the time and started smoking at 12.
which is all fine. people do stupid things as kids. but it sucks that I'm always the difficult one, the one that causes trouble, the mean one. the worst thing I ever did was drop out of school because I was too terrified and depressed to keep going. this is somehow proof that I was such a difficult child to raise, so hard to be around. not that my parents completely failed me in every way, or anything like that.
my brother attacked me this year. but that's totally excusable because surely he had his reasons (yeah, I disagreed with him and wouldn't back down. great.) and I probably just misunderstood (how?!) and anyway it wasn't really that bad. he yelled at me for daring to disagree with him, insulted me and then grabbed me when I told him to get out. but he's just having a hard time and can't express his feelings well and can't I just forgive him?
but I'm bad for things I did when I was 15 or 10 or 5 or literally a baby. I'm bad for things that never happened. I'm bad for things that other people did. I'm just bad.

the thing about 'negative' or 'positive' emotion is that it's all information. it's all your brain and body telling you something. and like any conversation you can pursue it further or shut it down. you can dissect it in the shower later or write about it in your diary or sit with it or let it pass or hold onto it for years. but in the end it's nothing more or less than a message from yourself

i do think the whole "ganging up on one person for a week then moving on" culture of the internet is egregious enough and it's the worst when it happens to ppl who haven't done anything wrong but "body language experts" on tiktok decided are evil or w/e. but it's also still bad when the person's worst crime is just kind of being a dick. this includes creators and somewhat public figures like youtubers or artists etc like i truly think the best thing to do is ignore them. they either made a mistake and are gonna learn from it, or they're just gonna keep being a dick to get more attention. and it's ESPECIALLY bad when the "kind of being a dick" event took place months or even years ago and you're bringing it up publicly to cancel someone (even more so when they clearly changed since then). like why does everyone on twitter think it's their job to school a whole adult man for posting something mean. to call out a small artist for being kinda rude to her fan once. can't we just all collectively find a new hobby
