Fairy Lights- Sugawara Koushi x Reader

I hope u like it!! ur an angel 🥺 also this was named sillawara realness in my notes app sdkhjs (also also i nearly posted this to my achievement hunter blog wouldn’t that have been fun) Word Count: 448 (i suck ik)

Sugawara was being mean. Well, he wasn't being mean- he'd never been mean- but he wouldn't kiss you, because he wanted you to admit that that was what you wanted. And both of you could be terribly stubborn, if you put your minds to it. "Koushi~" "Yes, love?" He was smirking, and you wanted to kiss it off his stupid face but he wouldn't let you. "Please?" "You know what you have to do." "You're mean." "And you're cute when you're pouty." He placed a soft kiss on your temple, and you pouted more.

"I'm not asking for it, Koushi." "I know." He smiled at you softly, eyes filled with love. A hand was running through your hair, a gentle gesture that almost always found you if you were close enough to him. As the clock struck 9, he stood up suddenly.

"Come with me?" "Where are we going?" Your boyfriend simply shook his head in response, intertwining your fingers together as he pulled you to the garden. It was dark out, and cold, the moon lighting up the dew drops settling on the grass. "Whats going on?" "Stay right there." He double checked your position and disappeared round the side of the house. You were so, so confused. He was always one for big gestures- you could only assume thats what this was- but why had he dragged you out in the cold, and why was he being so cryptic? Suga flipped a switch, and your garden lit up. What had to be hundreds of softly coloured fairy lights were strung over every raised surface. He watched from the gateway as you spun around, taking it all in. This was what he'd been doing all day? Your eyes landed on him, a 'why?' on your lips, but it was whisked away as you registered what was in front of your eyes. The fairy lights twirled around the gate, set up to form a heart-shaped entryway, and in the centre was Koushi. He kneeling. To be precise- he was on one knee. The world became blurred as tears threatened to spill.

"Y/N... You know how much I adore you. I've loved you for so, so long. I think I knew, even then, that we'd end up here one day. I'm so glad we made it. I don't need a ring or a marriage certificate to tell you how much you mean to me, but I want them, if you'll have me. How about me make you part of the Sugawara family?" He was grinning at you, he already knew what you'd say, but hearing the ‘yes’ from you only made his heart beat faster. You met each other in the middle, and he slipped the ring on your finger before engulfing you in a hug. "That's what you were doing all day?"" Yeah... I wanted it to be perfect.” "Koushi?" "Yes, darling?" "Please just kiss me already." "All you had to do was ask, my love." You finally got your kiss, surrounded by fairy lights, with an engagement ring on your finger. He could be as mean as he wanted- if he was gonna make up for it like this.
