BNHA SPOILERS!!
HONESTLY, yeah. I don't get agree with Katsuki staying dead either. First, it just plays into the trope of "character finally opens up, get development and whatnot and then dies" and that's like the worst trope ever.
Second, I feel like a lot of people say that he should stay dead because they don't like Katsuki, not even thinking how horrific a CHILD in a WAR dying truly is.
How is that "closing his arc"?!
I really, REALLY can't understand how watching Katsuki do all the work, hit his highs and lows throughout the story, for 8 YEARS of this manga, makes it feel "REWARDING" to see him die in the final hours.
Like, I have been digesting this for weeks now and I still don't get it, how is that a good ending for him? How is that satisfying? We, or the majority of us, have been rooting for him this whole time. We knew he'd figure it out. Because this is ANIME, of course he will.
He's already demonstrated his will to sacrifice his life, both for Izuku directly, and for others. We KNOW he gets it now, but is it really necessary for him to ultimately HAVE TO pay that price? Is that required?
ESPECIALLY.
When you pair it with the OTHER theme at work here, which is the Adults doing their diligence and protecting the younger generation! The fact is, Katsuki is around three Pro Heroes who are NOT WILLING to let him be a sacrifice to this war. They are the ones now making the sacrifice so that Katsuki can make it through this war, even if it does cost one of them their lives.
You're right, Katsuki is still a CHILD in a WAR and has once again become a casualty due to his heroism (AND the fact that SigarAFO personally and explicitly targeted him, so it's not even entirely his fault)
People rag on Pro and adult characters so much in MHA for neglecting to protect their children, students, protoges, and here is Horikoshi laying out some of these characters TAKING RESPONSIBILITY for one of those children. Here are the CONSEQUENCES.
He's acknowledged that oversight in the characters and is making it relevant. He has AFO reflecting on how unfortunate it is that so many Pro adults have abandoned the cause and made the minor students to pick up the slack and pay the price for it. We have Jeanist, Miruko, and Edgeshot risking everything to save Bakugou so they don't have to lose a child, a promising student, on the battlefield before he's even 18. We have the American guy, Agbar(?) saying that they OWE IT to the younger generations to FIGHT AFO instead of joining him so that they can have hope for the future. We have Tenko seeing the pros trying, desperately, to revive someone who he just killed, and wonders, WHY DID NO ONE TRY THIS HARD TO SAVE ME, when I was still ALIVE??
Horikoshi is making all this MATTER. And Katsuki's death was one of the vehicles to express this theme, that the adults have to take responsibility and protect their charges instead of simply making them clean up their mess.
Honestly, what an interesting theme, considering that's BASICALLY reflecting current times in real life, with older Gens NOT taking responsibility for their effects on the world and doing right by the younger ones... 👀☕

Weird. I mean, I've been seeing a lot of takes on Penelope in two categories "She did nothing wrong" and "She's an evil monster and a racist."
That last part is becoming so popular that the actress who plays Penelope is now being accused of racism.
Here's the thing, anyone that knows me, knows I don't believe in racism/ any kind of discrimination, but rather work on the philosophy that people are assholes and anyone who want to be asshole to a group of people, will simply find an excuse. Be it race, gender, social status, sexual orientation, nationality or other.
Mainly because I've encountered people in life who had every reason to discriminate others, and still chose to be kind and accepting.
Has Penelope been an asshole to people just because she wants to be an asshole? I mean outside of LW, no. Within the confines of LW she doesn't seem to discriminate who she's being an asshole to. Considering she was fine with writing about Daphne and Anthony, just as she was with Kate and Marina.
But Penelope as a character doesn't look like a racist to me, on account that she does treat Edwina and Kate with the same level of polite curiosity she gives everyone else aside from Eloise and Colin. If anything, Penelope's interactions with Kate and Edwina in the show can be compared to how she may get along with Francesca. She's friendly, but in a just met you sort of way.
If Penelope has been proven to be a petty gossip columnist, to everyone, not just the people she knows. Why do we expect her to be any different with the gossip she reports about Kate and Edwina? Did we forget what LW reported about Anthony in s1? she wasn't nice to him either and she knows him in person.
but that's just my opinion dear readers, with the tea.

I just wanna say something real quick for all the pussies who are afraid to talk about their favorite things because of controversy.
Who cares if your favorite song comes from a controversial friday night funkin mod?
Who gives a shit if your favorite character came from an absolute dumpster fire of a franchise?
Who asked for the bad shit about the things you like to be acknowledged? Certainly not you, so tell them they need to learn the subtle art of keeping their chalk-sniffing nose out of people's damn buisness before they get fucking doxxed.
Mic (And I can't stress this enough) Drop

so i’m noticing all the jedi defenders are logging on. uhhm. (long and rambling)
we don’t have to get extreme and say they all deserved to be murdered in order to realize they still got problems. the jedi as an organization is flawed theologically in my opinion — getting personal here but ive got plenty of experience with groups/orgs that read well on the surface (guardians of peace and justice) but aren’t structurally, ideologically or theologically sound (the jedi code for starters), that don’t always meet their adherents needs and loose sight of the most basic needs like companionship, love, proper mental health etc instead of enlightened platitudes. i have beef with how jedi view what they experience as the the all encompassing force underlying everything (largely in strictly in black and white, sure theres the ‘living force’ and ‘cosmic force’ but there’s a sharp divide because of their history with the sith). how they reject and try to suppress any view on the force that doesnt match their own (this is not exclusive to dark side stuff either)
dunno if this is still canon but im pretty sure the jedi automatically have custody over any force sensitive child in the republic? or how they send the kids that dont pass the exams to work camps under harsh conditions for the rest of their lives? are we gonna talk about that?
i see people saying “well millions of other jedi were able to follow the rules, why couldn’t anakin? there’s nothing wrong with the jedi! just because he couldnt obey” i mean hes not the only one to defect and/or join the dark side. the way people view the jedi that leave puts a bad taste in my mouth; they all have their own reasons for leaving and yes sometimes that means the jedi as an organization is at fault. i think also in terms of ashoka leaving the order that often it is the jedi or jedi counsel’s fault. it reminds me of how people view apostates or ex religious folks, as a threat to the image of thing they left and people immediately go into defense to shirk any criticism or responsibility. brings me to another point about the counsel: the jedi have deeply flawed leadership too and tbh that deserves its own post and in depth research because theres a lot.
basically like. dont go blindly defending a huge religious organization even if its fictional. if real life has taught us anything…yeah the good doesnt always outweigh the bad or sometimes even come close. holding organizations like that responsible is the responsible thing to do, noticing their flaws and talking about them is healthy. not to resurrect the author but im pretty sure george lucas intended for the jedi to be flawed. theyre not blameless or perfect at the end of the day, theyre not fascists or evil incarnate, they didnt deserve literal genocide either but they are intrinsically flawed and that causes problems and drives the plot. thats okay to acknowledge

QUESTIONS FOR MUNS.
4. which muse of yours is your all time favorite? if you stopped writing them: why?
Honestly all the muses I've ever written over the years have been great! Picking a favourite would be terrible of me to do, not to mention difficult. They all have their pros & cons as individual characters. But let's just say that writing Joker (J, Uncle J, Jack) has been a very memorable experience for me. J was my "big comeback" to tumblr all those years ago & a character I had avoided writing despite my inner fan due to insecurity. But the experience was not only interesting in terms of research & development, it was a huge confidence booster, helped me improve my writing & was SHIT TONS of fun. And, despite what the naysayers preach, writing him saved my life - there was a point back then where I had reached a very dark place in my life & just tuning out of myself into J was an incredible aid which also helped me evolve on a personal level to a better, well-equipped human. Hence the tattoo I eventually had inked on my neck, as a way of saying thank you to the spirit of Joker & all the beautiful people that wrote with me & him.
Now here's the answer I expect many peeps want to know. I haven't stopped writing J persay. After writing him for more than 6 years, I think I've earned a break from him. Not to say that he's obsolete or boring to me now (though he's developed to a stage now where there's little more development needed), but I wanted to try something new as a writer that I hadn't done before, hence Leto. I made the decision awhile ago to stop forsaking Leto & give them my time & energy in order to really appreciate & develop them as opposed to only popping in & out on the rare occasion (which is why the observant few may notice the change in Leto as I get more comfortable with them). Plus, I cut my writing teeth on supernatural muses - J was my first venture into a human muse for a long time - and I wanted to go back to familiar territory. Of course I feel overshadowed by J but I want to focus on getting Leto to that stage of personal satisfaction. Again I apologise for this decision to the beautiful writers that adore J & want only him, I really am sorry to neglect ye like this after all yer support.... but please don't hate me or take that out on Leto.
9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–?
Oooh you wanna know my secrets, eh? Alright. I always read rules & bios & verses of a blog & a few threads before I follow them even if I'm familiar with or a fan of their muse. I want to see how well they know their muse, how well they write. A writer's rules can hint at how much experience they have & the type of person they are so I consider rules sorta like an introduction as to how well we as muns would get along. So basically if I like what I read, I'm sold. Nothing to do with aesthetics, themes, etc.
14. which roleplay community has been your favorite to write in?
The DCEU community here has by far been my favourite, closely followed by the BtVS community on Bebo. Both have been welcoming & blissfully free of drama, with kind & talented writers galore. There's a lot of support & rapport between writers regardless of canon characters / ocs.
