I Dream Of A Witcblr Renaissance.
Witchblr back in the day was an absolute social mess. The cyberbullying was brutal to say the least. But it had a few redeeming qualities, it had solid information about magic(k),Witchcraft,Occultism, and Paganism. Witchblr back then may have been a bit rough around the edges but the Insistence on cited sources really made tumblr a great resource to start looking into topics of interest more deeply. Also Witchblr had some dedicated practitioners who were happy to help, if not a bit snobbish (myself included) we all had a lot of growing up to do. But could you imagine a Witchblr revival. Quality information, commitments to accountability and open communication, collective stance of anti-cyberbullying, the resources, etc
I like a good aesthetic as much as the next Queer Witch. However magic(k),Witchcraft, Occultism, and Paganism are not aesthetic, they are something you engage with actively. Witchblur once facilitated that even if a bit toxic but surely we have grown up by now? we could do it better then before.

If I may ask, what did Idia mean by "thaumaturgy" in your recent fic. Is it a play on words?
“Thaumaturgy” comes from the Greek thaûma and érgon which translates roughly to “miracle work(ing)”. It’s an old word that was used to describe how wizards, wise folk, or saints are meant to have the powers to do things mere mortals can’t, whether they come from divinity or not.
Given that Twisted Wonderland has magic our world doesn’t, I’m basically using the word as a catch-all term for their expanded “laws of physics”. i.e. their study of what magic is, what its limits are, how blot works, etc.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even clock that the official English translation renamed “madol” to “thaumarks”, so good on you for catching it!
(It’s also a spell in DND that lets you perform a minor miracle for 1 minute. Like opening and shutting all the windows in a building for dramatic effect.)

The art is old, but here's the refs for the main characters in this blog! I am sure nobody remembers them anymore xD My old blog was active at the time, but that was years ago
The first one is Adamai, a Morphic fey who is both smart and dumb at the same time. A chaotic dumbass, but brilliant with magic. Also mindfucked from Eldritch forces. He can acquire creature forms by touching the creature in question, but can not become energy creatures. The grey one with white hair is Arzhel, a Kivuuli who is basically batshit insane... in a fun way. But what do you expect from one who fucks with eldritch forces so much? He's chaotic, full of energy, has no filter, and is, like the others, a chaotic dumbass. The black and purple one is Katira, daughter of Adamai. She is a Reshviik, an amphibious race. Adamai took Reshviik form and sired her and a couple siblings, and she was the one who decided to come find her father and join him in all his shenanigans. She's spunky, quick witted, smart, and a bit of a goofball. She's resistant to the effects of Eldritch forces, but it's still caused a FEW things in her mind! And finally, there's Koltho, a Dhaebru. Fairly young, as far as his kind go, fresh into adulthood. He's the most sane of the bunch, a skittish and nervous thing, but also rather sweet. He and Katira have a thing with eachother, both being around the same age (Young adult newly matured) She finds him adorable and despite her chaotic nature, he finds her endearing. Not that he really understands these feelings he has for her... He's rather new to all this. I'll be redoing their refs, probably after Artfight. But this is what I got for now!

VtM Blood Sorcery Haiku Poems
#vtmfangfest23 I did extra Haiku poems for day 3 because there's just... so much Blood Magic can do, y'all.
Blood Sorcery
Xenomorphs are not The only ones with acid Flowing through their veins
.
Tasting just one drop Telling me Kindred secrets Hidden in Vitae.
.
Torturing the Beast - Extinguishing your Vitae, And forcing hunger.
.
More potent Vitae Is useful for blood magic Raising your power
.
Transforming my blood Into a deadly poison To injure my foes.
.
Blood flies through the air! Cutting without touch, stealing- Life from your body.
.
Blood is just a tool Sharpen it into poison; Venom for Vitae.
.
What could be worse than Boiling the blood of your foe From the inside-out?
.
Blood drawn carefully Warded circles on the floor Intruders keep out!
.
Clinging like insects Crawling, creeping, up the walls Spider-like, I hide.
.
Bloodstones are useful For tracking, following, and Knowing locations.
.
Waking in alarm Middle of the day, take flight In emergencies!
.
Your blood tells the truth If you want it to, or not. Sifting lies from facts.
.
Illuminated Trail of prey, I can follow Wherever you hide.
.
Protect me against The danger of being staked - Deflect wooden doom.
.
Imagine flying! Essence of air makes it so Drink it and float up!
.
Firewalker is Very painful and bloody. Worth it to not die.
.
Your haven should be A sacred place, safe from sun, Warded by shadows.
.
There are so many Rituals and things to learn In thaumaturgy
.
Spells and blood magic... The list never ends! It grows Each and every night.

Sneak Peek at my original novel Thaumaturgy! <3
'The Umbra was as soothing as the sun could be stifling. It was a cool, safe place, away from the dangers of the world. I was as familiar to the shadow as it was to me. I had spent thirty-seven years in this place, after all, despite my apparent youth.
When I was a child, my papochka told me about how people used to believe that necromancers like us were born in the dark, in the Umbra. They believed that we were the scions of death and mystery. They thought that we were spontaneously birthed out of shade seemed preposterous to me, like a child's nightmare fantasy. I personally thought we were more closely related to demons and witches, if I had to make an inference. My father didn't seem to believe the story, but none of our other kith appeared to put much stock in it either.
I had been born when my papochka was at the mature age of seven hundred and fifty-three. We didn't age much, true, but it was notoriously difficult for our kind to reproduce. Bodies built for dying weren't geared for giving life. The governments listed us as Endangered Beings. “Being” was a classification created for the more humanoid creatures that traversed this world because the bureaucrats considered calling us a “species” a preternatural faux pas. Some thought we were no better than the animals they slaughtered for meat. Whichever side of the argument you fell on, with only a scant thirty-one of us in the world, we received certain...political considerations. Thanks to an admittedly overzealous politician, five years ago we were granted Diplomatic Immunity, on par with foreign diplomats or the representatives from the United Planer States (or out of earshot of said representatives, UPS). The extra perks certainly did not endear me to our dear Lieutenant McCoy, however. It was his belief that it gave us too much power, too much leeway to abuse the very law that had given us those benefits. It was my opinion that if someone murdered me, I had the right to eat them.
The aphotic atmosphere had washed away all of the tension of the night and the urge to just curl up and take a nap was strong. In this place there was no floor or sky, only the ongoing, eternal shade. It was a world behind worlds, the space within spaces. One only needed to picture the place they wished to go and then give yourself over to it. I came out into the easy familiarity of our home office, stepping out of the shadow of the doorway. Thaumaturgy Security and Investigation was an interesting melding of an invention workshop, occult store and an office cubicle. On one side, we had Eliann's tinkering space and our supply storage where we kept ritual supplies and items as well as ingredients to bind living, warm magic to cold steel and circuitry.'
The Thaumaturgy Trilogy is available on Amazon and Kindle under the name C.L. McReynolds! <3

If a catholic priest during the scholastic era discovered how to do magic in a supremely spectacular way, and could demonstrably prove that it was not from an unholy or demonic source despite said magic did not come directly from divine grace, how would their community react?
If it did not come from divine grace then it wouldn’t be considered a miracle. All things come from God and if something so spectacular was happening that wasn’t the cause of God or of natural, non-supernatural phenomenon, that would imply things completely contradictory to the Church’s teachings. And that would never happen.
But for the purposes of this question let’s assume it is a miracle from God.
What you’ve described is thaumaturgy (or wonderworking) named after St. Gregory Thaumaturgus.
The Church does investigations whenever someone reports miracles being performed. They never use the word “magic” to describe it because that word is used with the occult and would otherwise confuse people hearing it.
