For PC Gamer's March 2008 issue (#172), it had a demo disk that had an image of Max when he and Sam were trying to get into the war room in 104. Fitting as that's the episode featured on the disk.

You were my hardest fall.
Okay so small story behind this one, I have a short Drabble that I never posted about these two. Basic premise was both Dream and Lust are competing in an Olympic Games of sorts. They meet a year before the competition and started a relationship shortly after. I’ll probably never post that Drabble but now you have context ✨
Oh and Dream is competing in archery and Lust is a gymnast.

So I just noticed this detail
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Harper says she is the nicest old builder....
Unlike these two (Cause Otto's cool)
Tumblr media
And she is an Expert in Redstone considering all the things we have seen her done in Episode 7
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She did left the old builders group to settle in Crown Mesa
Could it be that she was the one who taught Cassie about Redstone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can even see in this background, that the banners color palette PERFECTLY match that of Otto and Tim's Armor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And sure they could be coincidence But did you notice this when the White Pumpkin, Lukas and Jesse chase was going on and we finish the interrogation with the Youtubers , we get a view of the main hall of the mansion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We can see what could be the base for the Tim Armor, Maybe she was the one improvised the design for it?
We even see a portrait of a snowy plain on the right side of this screenshot,
Tumblr media
its possible she could have made this by her muscle memory if it is her home and she has been living there for years.
But how did she got into the Games in the first place? Well,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe she was not from the games originally but instead from a random world which was her home world. She was snatched by the old builders to play in the games but seeing how young she is now she was probably 15 or something and Harper was their with the other old builders at that time and
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
she felt sympathy for her and decided to adopt her, taught her everything about Redstone which explains her exaptational talent and was taught all the techniques about buildings. She already had a talent for painting from the start and was the one who made all the paintings to promote the whole 'Tim was a hero and the one the games' image. She never played in The games but she observed all the games like the old builders, Mevia and Hadrian taught her how to use weapons and combat, especially AXES. She became some sort of Prodigy of the old builders. But she did something wrong maybe she broke a rule or few that didn't even exist and was kicked out into the two which made Harper angry and left them with the Redstone Heart in a fit of rage.

MWW Artwork of the Day (5/30/23) Ettore Tito (Italian, 1859-1941) I Giochi: The Games (c. 1914-17) Oil on canvas, 90.2 x 120 cm. Private Collection
This is a study for the fresco series created by Tito for the entry hall ceiling of the Villa Berlingeri in Rome, decorated in an Art Nouveau style, and today the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. The series is an allegorical representation of the Berligeri’s family history and comprises pure decorative and symbolic scenes based on four different themes: The Fruits of the Earth, Play, Study and Rest. When exhibited at the Galleria Pesaro in Milan in 1919, this series was highly praised for its novelty and joyous expressiveness, with one critic commenting that "Entering from a gloomy and foggy Milanese street into the four rooms of the Galleria Pesaro, is like suddenly entering a space full of sunshine, and fresh air to admire a beautiful landscape. This is not surprise, as the magician who recreated this atmosphere is called Ettore Tito."

KnB 30-day challenge
30. What do you enjoy the most about the anime/manga?
Completely opposite to how I write, it's the games.
Tumblr media
That's just what it is about in the end, you now? That's the only element I purely enjoy. The rest of it is complicated or bittersweet because I relate especially to the negative aspects of the story too much. Yes, the positive things too, but just because everything is resolved in the end doesn't make what happened, go away. I reflect too much of my own trauma through the story when I read/watch it. It's only the games that put me in a headspace where there's nothing else except the thrill and suspense. (Well, except for some scenes in them that are too emotional...)
I wouldn't know how to write about basketball (except largely symbolically for character development, which is why I chose that particular gif...) since my experience with it is so limited. I'm not even that great at writing action in general. I'm all about dialogue, character interaction and introspection. I have way more to give to the "other things", which is kind of how my fic series got its name. But when it's canon, I enjoy the games the most. Reader/fan brain is almost like it's totally separate from author brain sometimes. When I'm a reader I have the potential to be crushed by the characters' feelings and anything bad that happens to them, and when I'm an author I have the potential of killing someone with no remorse.
Thanks for reading my ramblings for this challenge. It has been good for me to write my thoughts without thinking about it too much lately. 💙

A funny picture used in some publications talking about season one of these games. (Left the watermark on the last 3 because these aren't my scans and those ones originally had the watermark on them, source to the scans are linked below)
Sources: 1st Page - Unknown (Found in an ebay listing that didn't state what magazine the page came from) Last 3 Pages - Games for Windows December 2006 issue

ITV’s revival of The Games showed lots of heart, plenty of spirit. The opening episode was as messy as ever, the show perhaps prized winning a bit too much above having a go.

Top Takeaways asked families to judge dishes from excellent takeaways, hand-cooked to their order. A great way to show what a great takeaway can do. Perhaps a little rushed, we’d rather have 3x30 minute shows than 1x60 minute episode.
Plus! Ratings for The 1% Club and Eurovision Song Contest, and a brief preview of De Verraders - that’s in lieu of a proper review which has been on my scratchpad since last summer.

the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
