Type of Character & Fandom/Source Material: Canon character Raiden from the Metal Gear Solid/Rising game franchise. I used to write Raiden over at @therain-trxnsfxrmed​​, if you want to peruse his blog, which is left on hiatus for now.
Real Name: Jack Code Name: Raiden Aliases: the White Devil of Liberia; Jack the Ripper Names He Prefers To Be Called: Raiden, Dad (only in verses with Little John, of course)
FC: I usually use MGS4 or MGR:R Raiden for the majority of icons and things just because MGS2 Raiden is graphically inferior haha and also anatomically no longer relevant to Raiden’s current life as a cyborg.
VC: Quinton Flynn as Raiden
Race: Human with cybernetic enhancements, also referred to as a cyborg
Gender: Currently technically genderless, physically speaking, because of what’s been done to his body, but previously as a whole human being he was physically male, and he has always identified emotionally speaking as male.
Height: It honestly varies, depending on which body he has attached and what sort of heels he might currently have equipped on his feet. In his natural human body, he was 5′ 10″. With most cybernetic bodies, he’s around 6′ 0″ to 6′ 3″ tall.
Age: Usually early to mis-30s, but depends on verse.
Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Heterosexual/romantic
Occupation: Child soldier in Liberia, then U.S. special ops by his early 20s, then freelance mercenary into his 30s.

Clothing: None? Haha. Not unless he’s in his biopolymer body that makes him look more human, then he wears normal clothes. But when he’s in a battle body, he just leaves that as it is.
Family: He doesn’t remember his parents at all. He had a girlfriend, Rose, with whom he had a son, John, known as “Little John.” Raiden and Rose have been off and on for a lot of reasons, but by the latest game they’re together again and Raiden is fully in John’s life.

He sometimes gets bogged down in his own emotions and starts having a pity party, needing help to get back out of that emotional spiral.
Positive Personality Traits: Raiden has a lot of love to give, and he’s honestly a hero. His core personality is so incredibly brave and selfless. When he’s 100% himself and free to do what he wants, he would think nothing of sacrificing himself for a friend or loved one, or putting himself in danger to do what’s right. Despite being trained as a soldier from childhood, he can be very gentle and kind, especially to his son and Sunny. To children, basically, he’s especially kind and gentle with.

Fun Facts:
Raiden is shockingly good with children given his background and history as a soldier. He’s a good father to John and he was a dear friend of Sunny’s during her early life when she struggled with things like stuttering, depression, and being tossed around to different guardians.
He is also very good at walking others through their trauma and is extremely tolerant of others with difficulties like stuttering, muteness, physical tics, addictive issues, and various triggers, despite having endless difficulty dealing with his own mental and physical health. He has a lot of empathy for others who have suffered, who are different in some way, or who are disabled, and that’s one of the things that fuels him to keep doing things in the name of the greater good.
He loves video games, haha. Console ones, though. VR games to him are too much like the VR training he had, so it doesn’t feel like fun or entertainment to him.

My Early childhood: My biological father left me, my older sister, and Mother. My Mom had to take care or me and my sister while we were young, by herself, for almost 10 years, She had one job, constantly busy, and had bad days, but me and my sister always cheered her up. My Early Childhood after my bio father left: My non-bio father started to date my mom, they got married. We now had enough money to move out of our town house, we moved. I went to elementary school. Kindergarten and Daycare: I met my two best friends, One I have known for 10 Years now, the other…well Let’s just say we both act like a married couple-

BAND WAS FUN AS FUCK TOO! I started to become more self conscious and anxious.
8th Grade year: Holy shit- Beginning year, I started to become more and more anxious, I had a small panic attack the day before a XC meet it was pretty scary, Second Panic attack… At our last XC meet… So bad I couldn’t run the race, parents had banded me from ever running XC ever again, the twist? That say was October 9th 2021… One day before October 10th… My 14th Birthday… My parents tried to ignore the Panic attack thinking it was a one time thing, until they tried to enroll me into the Dolphins Swim Team, I had around 5 more panic attacks, they still kept me in swim to get exercise… I got tired easily, hard to breath, and other bad stuff started to happen during swim, Turns out I had HORRIBLE, Iron deficiency. It was so low it was almost off of the scale (The normal low for Iron deficiency is like 13.0 or 16.0 or something, MINE WAS 0.5!) I ended up getting TWO Iron infusions to help get my irons levels up! I had to constantly eat things with high iron in them to also help, I still have to take Iron pills to help keep it normal. THEN, I got into a grades argument with my parents, long story short: I threatened to: ‘Stab all of my vital organs out of my body with that knife(large kitchen knife) and you can watch as I pick my organs out of my chest. ONE.BY.ONE…’ While crying and screaming at them… Yeah…I have had anger issues for as long as I can remember… So I will have mental breakdowns if I get too frustrated, stressed, and stuff so… I then was diagnosed with: Social Anxiety, Anxiety(Duh everybody does) And Depression, :,). I started to take Depression meds, so in the morning I would act really fucking energetic, like t-posing while spinning around in place- This is in December btw- YAY ANYWAYS! FEBRUARY, VALENTINES DAY DANCE, REJECTED, CRYING, BREAKDOWN, LONELINESS, AND MOREEEE. Stayed away from my crush for a while trying not to fall for her again [I am still struggling with this btw] and then we became best friends again even though she probably had/has NO CLUE WHAT HAPPENED. ANYWAYS. GYM! ALMOST THROUGH THIS SHORT ASS, TIMMY TURNER LOOKIN ASS KID OUT OF THE WINDOW MORE THAN ONCE, a friend had a fucking seizure, I had to get a teacher cuz nobody else would, I was crying, I was afraid she was gonna die, Teachers called 911, Ambulance and Police arrive, I helped them with my friend and she is ok btw. ANYWAYS END OF SCHOOL YEAR TIME! BAND CONCERT! I cried because our band teacher (which we treated like family cuz at this point she was) was leaving the state to get married and wasn’t coming back until our final senior year concert! (FOUR LONG AND PAINFUL HIGH SCHOOL YEARS!] Last day of school! MORE CRYING!!! Anyways if you have read all of this: Why? and How?

Title: Tales From Earthsea (Earthsea Cycle #5) (2001)
Author: Ursula K. Le Guin

Tales From Earthsea is a collection of five short stories and novellas which take place in the Earthsea universe. In addition, there’s a supplementary timeline of Earthsea’s history, tradition, and cultural details of note. The last story in the collection, Dragonfly, serves as a bridge between Tehanu (#4) and The Other Wind (#6), the final book in the series. 
Of the five stories, my favorites (both 10/10s) were The Finder and On The High Marsh.
The way one does research into nonexistent history is to tell the story and find out what happened. I believe this isn’t very different from what historians of the so-called real world do. Even if we are present at some historic event, do we comprehend it— can we even remember it— until we can tell it in a story? 
Content warnings, individual ratings/commentary, and spoilers below the cut.
Content warnings for the book: Death and violence, child abuse (including implied sexual abuse), police brutality, slavery, reference to torture and execution, brief reference to inc*st, misogyny, animal cruelty, mild body horror, very brief implied mind control via a "love charm" (it doesn't work).
#1 - The Finder (10/10)
In The Dark Time, magic is widely mistrusted. Petty tyrants use the once noble art in pursuit of power and glory. Medra, the son of a shipwright in Havnor, has magical talents honed in secret. One day, he curses a ship built for a warlord’s fleet. Unfortunately, he gets caught and sent to a prison camp. There he is forced to use finding magic to locate veins of cinnabar.
The prison exists to refine quicksilver, a substance the most powerful mage on the island believes will turn him into a god. While in the refinery, Medra feels a spiritual connection to a dying slave, a young woman named Anieb. The two of them devise a plan to kill the mage and escape. Medra’s journey eventually takes him to the island of Roke and the founding of its prestigious wizard school. 
‘The dead are dead. The great and mighty go their way unchecked. All the hope left in the world is in the people of no account.’ 
I really enjoyed this novella. The Dark Time is largely unexplored in the stories of Earthsea, so it was interesting to read about it here. I get the feeling that we’re approaching or in the middle of one such time in the real world, so seeing a version of it on the page is depressing yet hopeful. The story is dark; mass feudal warfare, a literal concentration camp in the opening half, widespread enslavement, and abuse of power. But it also offers hope and the promise of change. The story also explores the integral role of women in not only the preservation of magic in a bleak age of humanity, but the very foundation of Roke. 
Medra’s story spoke to me; how he resists the despotic powers-that-be, his connection with Anieb even after her tragic death, and how despite his disillusionment with humanity, he ultimately fights to create a better world. I also thought Gelluk was a horrifying villain. He’s characterized as a soft-spoken, almost kindly man who loves children and animals— yet his narrative thoughts involve burning hundreds of slaves alive in order to better fuel the quicksilver refinery. “Nice doesn’t mean good” taken to an extreme, and a mirror of many villains in the real world. 
Le Guin was anti-capitalist, but that way of thinking seems peripheral in the Earthsea series. The Finder, however, definitely has a Marxist reading in it. A recurring theme is the disenfranchised rising up against the powerful. Indeed both antagonists, who are despotic wizards of great power, are soundly defeated by groups of people they consider powerless. Magic is only considered relevant for the value and power it produces, an idea antithetical to the rest of the series. The quicksilver refinery also embraces anti-capitalist rhetoric; this section focuses on how mass enslavement and death is used to manufacture a meaningless commodity only one person “benefits” from. That’s not even getting into the prison-industrial complex. 
I dunno. This story slaps. It’s not at all what I expected from a Roke origin story.
#2 - Diamond and Darkrose (5/10)
Diamond, the son of a prosperous lumber merchant, struggles to find his true calling in life. His father disapproves of almost everything he does, including his close friendship with the local witch’s daughter Rose. While he loves music, his father derides his talents and forces him to abandon the pursuit. When Diamond shows some  promise in magic, he travels to a neighboring town to serve as the local wizard’s apprentice. But when this path estranges him from Rose, he grows disillusioned.
Rose had looked after herself from an early age; and this was one of the reasons Diamond loved her. With her, he knew what freedom was. Without her, he could attain it only when he was hearing and singing and playing music.
I did not like this story very much. I gave Diamond and Darkrose a 5/10 because it’s competently written (duh), and the protagonist has a character arc not entirely dependent on the central romance. But that’s about all I can say for it.
None of the characters are especially appealing. Diamond’s mentor figures are all extremely narrow-minded. Rose, supposedly his true love since childhood, drops him the moment things become difficult. And Diamond himself is a pushover who only grows a spine and pursues his dreams at the end of the story. I understand that’s his character flaw and his arc is about overcoming that. But due to all these factors, I was annoyed by every major character. The only person I didn’t dislike was Diamond’s mother, who only shows up for a couple of scenes.
Someone please tell me there are love stories out there where the romantic tension is NOT based on a fucking MISUNDERSTANDING. That shit drives me up a wall! It’s so overdone and painful to read.
#3 - The Bones of the Earth (8/10)
Dulse is an aging wizard on the island of Gont, reflecting on his life and relationship with his former apprentice, a young man he calls Silence. But he senses something amiss on the island; a massive earthquake poised to destroy a nearby port town and its inhabitants. To avert disaster, Dulse realizes he must turn to an ancient form of magic taught to him long ago— and he needs Silence’s help to save the town.
In there he knew he should hurry, that the bones of the earth ached to move, and that he must become them to guide them, but he could not hurry. There was on him the bewilderment of any transformation. He had in his day been fox, and bull, and dragonfly, and knew what it was to change being. But this was different, this slow enlargement. I am vastening, he thought.
So I’ve always liked Ogion in the main series; I love the idea of an immensely powerful wizard who lives an unassuming life of silence, contemplation, and appreciation of the natural world. In The Bones of the Earth, we get a glimpse of Ogion through his mentor’s eyes. Ogion’s heroism and how he stopped the earthquake is mentioned several times in the main series, but this is our first look at what actually happened.
Dulse is an unexpected and fascinating perspective character. It would be so easy to tell this story wholly from Ogion’s perspective, but I think making Dulse the protagonist was the right call. In particular, Dulse’s mind is starting to go. Le Guin presents this by utilizing flashbacks and connecting them to the present. This technique conveys Dulse’s disorientation and confusion so the reader experiences it alongside him... it’s hard to describe without actually reading the story. I also loved the little twist at the end regarding where Dulse learned the ancient magic that saves the island. There’s also a strong thematic connection to The Farthest Shore; death and becoming one with the rest of the world.
#4 - On The High Marsh (10/10)
A half-mad wanderer named Irioth comes upon a small settlement on the volcanic, marshy island of Semel. A murrain has been devastating the local cattle population, and Irioth offers his powers as a curer to heal the animals. He settles into a calm rural life with Gift, a widow working a small dairy. Though Gift likes Irioth, and the animals instinctively trust him, she senses something amiss with the man. Soon, Irioth’s dark past threatens to return and disturb the peace.
“Oh, yes,” Irioth said. “It was my fault.” But she forgave, and the grey cat was pressed up against his thigh, dreaming. The cat’s dreams came into his mind, in the low fields where he spoke with the animals, the dusky places. The cat leapt there, and then there was milk, and the deep soft thrilling. There was no fault, only the great innocence. No need for words. They would not find him here. He was not here to find. There was no need to speak any name. There was nobody but her, and the cat dreaming, and the fire flickering. He had come over the dead mountain on black roads, but here the streams ran slow among the pastures.
This story is a banger. It has a Western vibe— a stranger coming into a cattle town haunted by a mysterious past. Also cowboys. It’s an atmospheric story, and I think hits on the “small rural town” vibe better than Tehanu did. But there were several writing choices I especially liked.
We don’t learn Irioth’s name until a little while into the story; his physical description, temperament, and ability to immediately identify Gift’s true name just by looking at her makes one assume he’s Ged. He’s also got an interesting redemption arc, because it’s presented in a reverse order. We see Irioth’s genuine desire to do good, and his gentle and patient manner with animals and other people. He doesn’t even consider asking for payment for curing the murrain until Gift tells him he should. But there’s a sense that something is off; he’s paranoid, clearly running from something. The use-name he picks is Otak, a fictional ferret-like creature— which Gift asserts looks nice, but has sharp teeth.
Near the end, Ged actually does show up and explain what happened to Irioth. They have pretty similar backstories; both were powerful, arrogant young mages who messed with forces  they shouldn’t have, then went through great personal sacrifice to right the wrong (oh god the initial deception was intentional they’re narrative foils oh god). Ged embraced the darkest aspects of himself to avert calamity. Irioth came to Semel to escape Roke and atone by helping others. One detail I especially liked was that Irioth once considered healing beneath him, but now he takes a deep joy in using it to help. 
#5 - Dragonfly (8/10)
Irian lives a solitary life-- her father is a drunkard living in the ruins of their family’s once prosperous estate. Her closest relationship is with the local village witch, who named her in secret in the dead of night.  When a disgraced young wizard named Ivory comes to town, he sees Irian as a potential conquest. To gain power over her, he hatches a scheme; disguise Irian as a man, travel to Roke, and sneak her into the male-only wizard school— humiliating the great Masters.
But Irian is restless. She knows she has power, but her true nature is a mystery even to her. Irian sees Ivory’s plan as an opportunity to find answers from the most powerful wizards in the world. When the Doorkeeper actually lets her into the school, she finds herself in a magical and political conflict over the future of Roke— and discovers what exactly she is.
“Dark is bad,” said the Patterner. “Eh?”
Irian drew a deep breath and looked at him eye to eye as they sat there. “Only in dark the light,” she said.
This is one of those stories that has a rocky start, but a great second half. The first part of the novella felt dry to me; I’ve read plenty of tales about social outcasts with weird, unexplainable powers. On top of this, a chunk of the early narration is from Ivory’s POV, and he’s a complete tool. That can be a fun perspective to take, and I like the fact that he thinks he’s manipulating Irian when she’s the one pulling the strings. But since he’s an irrelevant character who disappears from the story halfway through, it feels like a waste to devote a huge chunk of the story to him.
However, once Irian arrives at Roke, the story gets much more interesting. Her presence at Roke causes a huge scandal that divides the Masters. Women being forbidden from Roke is a Series Thing at this point, but Earthsea is in an era of change (although I DO question that she’s the first woman to try it). The Finder demonstrated that women were pivotal in the foundation of Roke, something largely erased from history. Barring women stems from a power hungry bigot codifying it into tradition.
Irian finds some unexpected allies--minor characters in the previous books. The Doorkeeper continues to be the coolest motherfucker there. The Patterner is a major character in this story; he was in just one scene in The Farthest Shore, so I liked learning more about him. The Namer is the kind of guy you’d expect to be a stodgy traditionalist, so him siding with Irian is surprising. The Summoner, a heroic figure in previous books and stories, is a sinister villain here. As for the ending, well… if you didn’t see it coming, I’d wonder if you even read Tehanu. The same hints are there.
There were little particulars I liked, such as Irian moving into a decrepit hut that’s definitely Medra’s old home. My favorite detail is that this story has a parallel scene with The Finder. In The Finder, there’s a scene where an antagonist, Early, invades Roke in the form of a dragon. He lands on Roke Knoll, a site of power that reveals one’s true form. It turns him back into a human, leaving him defenseless when the residents of Roke attack him and repel his invasion. The reversal happens in Dragonfly. Irian gets attacked by one of the Masters while at Roke Knoll — and its magic turns her into her true form, a dragon. Props to whoever picked the cover design, since it references both scenes.
#6 - A Description of Earthsea
I’m not rating this since it’s basically a lore dump. It’s a deep dive into Earthsea’s history, languages, cultures, and other relevant world details. It’s the kind of bonus info a lot of fantasy series tack on as reference material.  According to Le Guin, she wrote this to get some idea of the timeline on each of these stories.
As a series, Earthsea has relatively little worldbuilding exposition. Sometimes characters reference legends or historical events, but usually the reader lacks the context to fully understand them. The focus is more on the lives of the characters and their personal experience of the world. I think something like A Description of Earthsea has benefits and drawbacks for the reader. On one hand it's nice to have some definitive information to tie things together. On the other, this does represent a loss of some of the mystery in the story.
I think this is the first thing in the series that even mentions homosexuality, so props for that I guess?
Closing Thoughts
A short story collection is always going to have high and low points. I tend to look at each story individually and score that way, but an average is always misleading. Diamond and Darkrose dragged the score down since there were only five stories total. But I enjoyed the majority of them. I am interested to see where the human/dragon subplot goes in the final installment; I assume Irian will show up at some point? We’ll see.

For once, I agree with Jiang Cheng. Wei Wuxian probably spends way too much time thinking about alcohol. Yanli is, as usual, completely delighted by him.

I can’t really even imagine what this would be like for Wei Wuxian. Coming back to the place that used to be your home to search for who you consider your brother, having no idea if he’s dead or alive, and if he’s alive, what state he’s in. Every place houses one memory, if not hundreds. Wei Wuxian spent the better part of his live at Lotus Pier, over a decade, and in the span of a few hours, it’s just gone. I want to say that it gets burned in the book (but I can’t say that for certain)—however, that does make more sense when later on in CQL, they talk about Jiang Cheng rebuilding. Honestly, rebuilding doesn’t really make sense if all they had to do was replace a few doors and hang some more Jiang Clan lotuses.

You know what? I actually kind of love how this parallels a later scene. I never really thought of it before: we have Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning, and Jiang Cheng (when later on we swap out Jiang Cheng for Lan Wangji), sitting in a boat near Lotus Pier. Here we get Wei Wuxian, having been forcibly expelled from his home, while very much in charge of Jiang Cheng, who is unconscious. Later on, Wei Wuxian is unconscious, again having been forced to leave what once was his home. In that case, he makes the decision to leave, for one because he is unwelcome, but also because he doesn’t need that home anymore. He has a new idea of home with Lan Wangji, who loves and supports him.
This comparison is interesting because you see that Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji (and even Wen Ning, for goodness’s sake) are willing to cradle their loved ones, risk life and limb for them, and Jiang Cheng just isn’t. Even when he goes looking for Wei Wuxian later on, it’s predicated more on his need for revenge than for saving Wei Wuxian. And again there, we see that his motive and Lan Wangji’s motive are very, very different.

Worst hangover ever. Omg can you imagine being asleep for days and then waking up with your head on a wooden table? Can you imagine the back ache you’d have from being hunched over all that time? Oh my god, truly, it sounds horrific. And this is what innocent little Wen Ning did, hahahaha. Not that I feel bad for any of these assholes—they definitely deserved it. If Wen Ning had gotten caught, though, he would have been executed for treason, I’m sure. It shows you what a huge risk that kid took to help Wei Wuxian and his family—a huge risk. And not only did he risk his own life, he also risks his sister’s life, because he begs her to help as well. It’s unsurprising that Wen Qing is so upset by this, since her one goal is to keep her brother safe, and then he goes and puts both of their lives on the line.

I like how this whole little scene, from the moment Wen Qing steps out and sees Wen Ning and the others standing there, to the point when she tells the guards to stand down, has no dialogue. Neither Wei Wuxian nor Wen Qing speak, but it’s clear that Wei Wuxian is threatening hers and Wen Ning’s lives if she gives them up here. They could have added some whispered dialogue or whatever, but I’m glad they did not, because it’s so powerful—seeing Wei Wuxian shaking with rage and fear is definitely the highlight of the scene. Wen Ning looking at a complete loss is also great. Wen Qing’s actress should have done that scene over—she is just not expressive enough, especially opposite someone like Xiao Zhan, who does such a good job in these emotional scenes. Either way, I do like how cool Wen Qing is at the end, order the guards to back off, while still holding Wei Wuxian’s gaze. This woman has no fear.

I hate this outfit. It is the worst thing that Wei Wuxian wears in the entire series, and that includes the bloody rags he’s wearing when he wakes up in Mo Xuanyu’s body. I don’t know where this outfit came from. Did Wen Ning give it to him? Why? Were his other clothes not fit to wear anymore? Everyone else is in the same clothes—why did he have to go through an outfit change? And what is with that cape? What a pain! Jesus, I’m sorry, but I hate this costume. Normally Wei Wuxian looks amazing, but this is a stinker.

This part is pretty hard to watch: Jiang Cheng being so unresponsive, Wei Wuxian putting on a brave face and trying to accentuate the positive. He knows that Jiang Cheng’s Golden Core is gone at this point, but he doesn’t want to dwell on that. He wants to find a way to help Jiang Cheng, even at the expense of his own future. His request for Jiang Cheng to try again is so sweet—try again and Wei Wuxian will act more affected by it—anything to make Jiang Cheng feel even a little bit better. Not to belittle what Jiang Cheng is going through (because that would be awful—he’s feeling his life is over—how can he be a sect leader, how can he do anything without his Golden Core?), I can’t help but truly identify with Wei Wuxian. I don’t think he’d be human if part of him didn’t feel a little responsible for what happened, even though it really wasn’t his fault (the Wens wanted control and the outcome would have been the same, anyway). He’s probably going over and over in his mind what he could have done differently from the moment the Wens showed up, until when Jiang Cheng ran off on his own. Like most people who really care for one another, Wei Wuxian really wishes that it had been him instead. I think sometimes it’s almost harder to watch someone else suffer than to suffer yourself, especially in this case, because Wei Wuxian can’t do anything for him.

I really love how she reacts to being yelled at and told to go away. She’s taken Jiang Cheng and his family in, given him medicine and food, sheltered them all from their enemies—she’s done all of this, knowing that, if caught, it would mean death for her and her brother. And after Jiang Cheng screams at her, she simply leaves, her head completely cool. It’s unclear to me whether she ever felt anything for Jiang Cheng (some people argue that she 100% did—I really don’t know), but at this moment, she stays level-headed while he is blinded by hatred. It doesn’t matter that she has done all those things for Jiang Cheng, because she’s part of the Wen Clan. But Wen Qing isn’t ruled by her emotions like he is. And I love how she approaches the situation, taking the time to tell her brother how they don’t ever kill—they are healers and have been for generations. It’s such a good message that even in the face of such hostility, she can maintain her duty to continue healing him until they have to leave.

I can’t really tell you how much I love this little scene between Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian. It’s hard to even put it in the words, but I feel like I run the gamut of emotions from joy to sadness. Wei Wuxian is doing everything in his power to figure out a way to help Jiang Cheng: he’s hungry, he’s exhausted, he’s depressed, he’s anxious, he’s afraid—and of course Jiang Yanli is all of those things, on top of still recovering from her illness. The joy on his face when he thinks of asking Lan Wangji for help—it makes me smile and breaks my heart at the same time. It’s this fleeting moment where he remembers his old life—their old lives—and then reality sinks in. It seems like Yanli thinks he’s hysterical or something, because as he’s insisting he can reach out to Lan Wangji, she’s insisting that he’s tired and needs rest. She’s trying to ground him to reality, because there’s no way he can get in touch with Lan Wangji with the way things are. Where would he even find him? And Yanli, ugh, my heart breaks for her—she’s just trying so hard to keep her little family together.
And then Wei Wuxian says he thinks it’s his fault, and Yanli loses it. I love her for this insistence that it doesn’t matter whose fault it is. It doesn’t matter—what matters is that it happened and now they have to live on. I mean, she must know that her brother blames Wei Wuxian for this and I think to hear it from Wei Wuxian makes her even more upset. But it’s so true. Placing blame on someone else might make you feel better for a time, or allow you to justify your actions or enact your revenge, but it doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change that their parents are still dead. It doesn’t change that Lotus Pier was taken over by the Wen Clan. All of that is still there, even if Jiang Cheng and Yanli placed all the blame on Wei Wuxian.
Sorry this one was super short, all. This arc kind of drags in CQL. I think they should have left more mystery, because it’s pretty clear what they’re about to do here. Anyway, two more episodes until Lan Wangji comes back, I think? Ugh…too many.

4 ways to relieve anxiety in kids
There is nothing worse than watching your child be scared and helpless when he tries to help.

Over the years, many families have asked me how I can reduce a child's anxiety. So I want to share my 4-step plan. You can implement this plan at home and start helping your child right away.
It is my own system based on psychological techniques, but it is also based on my personal experience of working with children and seeing what works and what does not work. I know parents (and their children) want a technology that works right out of the box, but it's not always that simple. I do not want to lie - this system will take some time to get the job done, but you will also see some relief right away.
Have I worried my child?
To be clear, you have NOT scared your child.
Some children are born with a tendency to fear. Are you or anyone else in your family struggling with anxiety? In that case, it just means that your child was born a little more scared than other children her age. This does not really mean that the child's future is doomed, it just means that you have to learn to control and reduce anxiety in a child, especially since you are also struggling with anxiety in adulthood.
In addition to the birthright, there are many other reasons why some children may suffer from anxiety. Some children have previously experienced a traumatic situation such as abuse, serious illness, frightening incident, etc. Have you ever heard of war soldiers with PTSD? Children may experience full-blown PTSD or some of the symptoms of PTSD if they have also been exposed to a traumatic event. Like our brave soldiers, children need help to process and deal with the emotions associated with the traumatic events they have experienced.
Whatever the reason your child is scared, the good news is that there are strategies you can use to teach your child (whether it's a toddler or a teenager) to cope with the fear and not be controlled by the emotions.
Some fear is normal
Everyone is sometimes scared. I have never met a person who is not afraid of an upcoming test. Talking is known to be the biggest trigger for fear in adults. Children and adults may experience mild anxiety due to an environmental trigger, but this fear usually disappears when the event is over.
In the above (and similar) situations, fear often helps us do our best. Think about it. If we were not interested in doing well on a test or a lecture, would we really take the time to study or prepare? Probably not.
So if there is a "good" level of fear, when is it "bad"? Anxiety ceases to be useful when it interferes with the child's ability to enjoy life. If they stop participating in fun activities to worry about an upcoming test, it's bad. If you're too scared to try new things because you're too scared to screw something up, this is a check for life.
Now that you know that there is a fine line between "good" fear and "bad" fear, let's get down to business and learn how to reduce your child's anxiety. You can teach an anxious child what to say so that you can be positive about him while still participating and enjoying life.
Teach your child to judge their fears
Most young children do not like to feel "bad". Some children do not even know what to call the "bad" feeling. All they know is that this is not how they feel and that they will do anything to make them feel better. Many children also feel that they are "good" one minute and "bad" the next.
Therefore, my first step in working with anxious children is to teach them to slow down and assess their anxiety from time to time during the day. I want the kids to realize that they are not going from "good" to "bad" right away; they usually go from good to bad gradually.
I also teach children to assess fear for two other important reasons: 1) different interventions work better in different stages of fear, and 2) it is better for the child to cope with the fear when it is at a lower level, as if it had stopped. school. . of control.
Confusing? Let me explain.
Look at this thermometer. It shows that 0-3 is normal fear, 4-5 is unpleasant fear, 6-8 is unbearable fear and 9-10 is uncontrollable fear. If we can teach children to reduce anxiety when they are in steps 4-5, they will never achieve the most severe anxiety states.
It is important to note that when children (or adults) reach levels 9-10, they experience severe emotional and / or behavioral disorders. So the rational brain shuts down and the child will only reduce her "bad" feeling in any way she can. At this stage, children experience suicidal behavior, self-harming behavior, severe aggression, numbing pain with drugs or alcohol, etc.
We do not want your child or any other child to reach steps 9-10, so it is ideal to learn how to reduce a child's anxiety before you reach this extreme step.
How is it done? Let me explain my 4-step system.
The Four steps to relieve anxiety
This is the exact system I use with all my private clients. It is important to note that I use the same system for other disruptive behaviors such as aggression, self-harm, depression, etc.
Step 1: Make a plan
Look at this anxiety thermometer  and try to make a plan to deal with their anxiety. I explain that there is a small amount of fear that is normal, and how the normal amount of fear is sometimes helpful.
Step 2: Brainstorm skills to deal with distractions
Try to deal with your fear if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Ask the child to describe how she is feeling right now. Let them tell you how they experience it in her body and how it feels. We want them to understand how their bodies give them clues that they are no longer well. Children often ignore these physical signs and do not understand that they are beginning to experience the early stages of fear. This is why they find that their anxiety is so easy to fall from 0 to 10.

During this phase, we develop specific management strategies that you can use to restore your anxiety to the normal 0-3 stage. I have discovered that skill management skills work best at this point.
Distraction coping skills are all types of activities that a child can do that 1) take the mind away from fear and 2) make him feel better than before the activity started.
Typical activities that work in this phase are:
Read, write, draw, paint
Listen to relaxing music
Watch funny videos on TV or YouTube
Play video games (yes, it can be good if you do it in moderation)
Play with animals
Go for a walk, skateboard, play sports
All the other fun activities you can think of
Step 3: Encourage social research
If for some reason the child did not do any of the level 2 skills, or if these skills did not work, her anxiety may now have reached levels 6 to 8, where it is better to use social skills. Explain to your child that it is very important to find people to talk to right now. You do NOT have to tell these people that they feel anxious (a common concern for the children I work with), but being around people and talking about EVERYTHING generally relieve anxiety.
Help your child identify at least 3-4 people (family and friends) that she can visit and talk to. Encourage them to just be with these people and practice not thinking about the past or the future, just having fun at the moment. Let your child know that it's okay to laugh and be stupid or stupid with these people, even if they do not feel it, because they are likely to feel better around other people.
Step 4: Identify a security guard
Once the child's anxiety has reached steps 9-10, it can be quite severe. At this point, her rational brain is down, and they can try to do something they later regret. Teach them how to contact a safe person right now, no matter what! Identify a family security officer and a school security officer. Make sure you are comfortable with this person and that you are not angry or disappointed if the child approaches you with an anxiety level of 9 or 10.
This security guard has the task of assessing whether the child's fear is serious enough to take him to the hospital for examination or just to be with the child and help alleviate the fear of it. If the security guard thinks the child needs help to highlight the anxiety, she can try to distract him with the activity. This usually helps.

Broken? I’d say yes.
Not a lot of science has been dedicated to Asexuality. Because what a boring ass thing to research. But that aside--we don’t have a lot on it. However, humans which are animals, can and do thrive on sexual intimacy. It is a natural act, reguardless of intention. Whether it’s for mating, bonding, or just straight up pleasure; it’s valid, and no scientist of human biology will tell you otherrwise. Even Dolphins have sex for pleasure. 
While humans have reached a plane of understanding and self than other animals; humans again are still animals. And any naturalist will tell you that an animal that has a sudden loss or immediate aversion to finding a mate (homosexual or not), it is instantly reguarded as an issue. That animal will suffer both socially and mentally. As it is not it’s natural modus operandi to do so. (And no, you are not special for “ “overcoming” your natural monkey brain.”) You find me an animal that naturally doesn’t, I’ll re-think this but funnily enough about the only thing you could show me is animals that reproduce asexually. See, that’s where that term originally comes from. An animal that does not need a mate of the opposite sex to procrerate. But they STILL have a need for a bond. Even animals that are natural loners such as tigers for instance, still meet up, bond and mate. The research and science on Asexuality is still on-going with no answers. Not even close to concrete. We don’t even know if it’s biological, or a picked up trait. While there are arguments for Pros of this “orientation” here is also a list of Cons you should consider and mentally file through and eliminate before you make your choice: Bogaert (2004, 2006) identified some of the characteristics of asexuals as follows: 1. More women than men 2. Slightly older than sexuals 3. Low self-esteem 4. Low socioeconomic status 5. Weighed less 6. Poorer health 7. More religious and attended religious services more often 8. Asocial 9. Social anxiety 10. Anxiety 11. Depression
Note: While “less well-educated” was also cited, this finding was contradicted by Prause and Graham (2007).  1. Asexuality is a lack of sexual orientation or sexuality, not an orientation.
2. Asexuality is a denial of one’s natural sexuality.
3. Asexuality is generalized low libido (which is a medical condition)
4. Asexuality is the result of sexual anxiety or shame.
5. Asexuality is Sexual Aversion

Romance doesn’t always imply sex and whoever told you that is an idiot and you’re a bigger idiot for believing it if you do. Asexuals bring nothing to the table. I mean, unless you want a best friend or a pet. Or population control. I guess that’s a plus for Aces?They even come pre-friendzoned! So no awkward conversation needed! What IS the scientific use for an animal that does not reproduce nor seeks out that kind of bond?  Some will say Ace’s can have bonds, but of what? Friendship or cuddles? Now sure Ace people argue that it’s a spectrum and there are some Asexuals that are okay with sex and still perform the act. They just say that it’s “not high on their needs list”.
It is usually defined as someone who just doesn’t experience sexual attraction. How can you have sex with someone you have no sexual attraction to? You’ve got to find something about them alluring, something about them physically that you find beautiful and arousing. Not caring for sex is not a sexuality. It is a personality trait. And a very boring and disappointing one at that. Demi and Grey as well. You arent an entire new sexuality just because you prefer to only have a physical relationship with someone you emotionally connect with. And Grey vacilitates between ace and aro? Why split hairs? It’s just your fucking personality. If you have legitimate sexual trauma, that’s understandable, but you aren’t Ace, you just have trauma. Get help. Talk to someone, grow past it, become stronger. Don’t just give up on one of the most intimate, natural and bonding experiences a person can have. If you have a distaste for sexual organs in general, that is also a you problem and your parents failed you in the talk and noramlising sex for you. Any good doctor or psychatrist worth their salt will tell you sex is not only good for you physically but also mentally and emotionally.  If you feel you’re Ace because you had a bad sexual experience, I have news for you: You’re not Ace, your lover just sucked and didn’t know what the fuck they were doing. Get you a better lover and someone who can make you feel comfortable and confident. Some will argue that sex isn’t everything and you know what? I agree. It isn’t. You can certainly have a great mental or emotional relationship with someone, and can really vibe on an intellectual or moral level. Absolutely, I jive with this sentiment too. But good sexual chemistry between individuals can and does make bonds stronger. Also to any Ace people who have openly mocked, or shown disgust to those who really enjoy sex, talking about sex, loving the act and are comfortable with their sexuality and their body---fuck you. We are not degenerates, we are not disgusting, we are not perverts. Your view is just skewed and you’re broken. Fix that shit. Think hard before you label yourself this, you might just realise you have other issues that need to be considered or addressed. Let yourself explore yourself, be open, talk to someone about concerns. Because it’s better to rule everything else out before you put yourself in such a limiting position. You are barely over 1% of the population; good fucking luck.

Murder on The Rockport Limited Notes
Previous: Character Creation, HtbG, Moonlighting
Ch 1
Robbie is a halfling who is pretty shitty but he’s good at making “potions” (Robbie is the roommate that everyone really hates but doesn’t want him to leave because he is their plug)
Taako is on the top bunk, Magnus is under Taako, Robbie is next to Taako and Merle is under Robbie
They are woken up at 3 am to report to Lucretia (3 am really?)
”Yeah it’s like Mario Mario or Luigi Mario” ~Griffin (This is so funny because this actually proves that Taako’s last name really is Taaco. Before Justin played it as a joke but this kinda derails that)
Robbie asks them for Pringles when they leave (Thus the beginning of me and the boys not remembering him by anything other than Pringles)
They arrive in their PJs (Taako is in footie pajamas and Merle’s has a flap in at the butt with a Kenny Chesney tattoo on his ass) (When the hell did Merle get that tattoo. Also, why is Lucretia in her full BoB garb right now? Was she asleep and get changed really quickly? Do her robes double as PJ’s? Did she just not go to sleep?)
Taako says he gets night terrors that’s why he’s in like a full-body Onesie/sleeping bag (That is so fricking sad if you think about his backstory later on…)
Magnus just starts changing clothing right then and there when Lucretia tells them that they don’t have time to get ready (This man really has no shame or boundaries. I imagine it was the same in the century tbh)
Leimann Kessler (half-elf man) was murdered before he was even on the train but was able to secure the Relic on the train (Personally, don’t know a lot about how trains work but this to me is kinda odd. Who knew he died? Do their bracers know when the wearer perishes? Is there like a body temp check and a pulse check in there too? We know that it can track them but… how much more can it do…)
All the relics come from a different school of magic. They were never in the hands of someone long enough to learn what they are capable of (Potentially this is a lie. We would have already known the names, schools of magic, and possibly what they could do based upon that alone. I bet Lucretia is hiding that info in her office)
The Gauntlet deals with Evocation magic (Hmmm, I can only imagine why. Maybe because Lup also worked in Evocation magic?)
Avi is manning the cannon! The whole scene with Magnus High as hell. Avi Never learned how to Wink (Avi you’re adorable I love you. Magnus. Get your shit together man.)
Taako pulls the lever too early and they change trajectory into a swamp
Leech fight! (I honest to god forgot this even happened before listening to it again. Not my fave fight)
Ch 2
Merle gets a lot of blood sucked from him by the leeches
Merle is completely submerged in the swamp and Magnus pulls his ass out (Why is it always Merle)
”Scientists have yet to agree” ~Griffin (I personally use this phrase all the time. It just makes me laugh so hard every time.)
Taako can levitate (I really wished he used this more ngl. I would also like to see some more fanart of this)
They are in Rockport! Covered in swamp shit!
Tom Beaudette! We see his house and they get hosed off then they see him at the ticket station again. (What a nice guy!)

Ch 3
Hudson, Jess the Beheader, Graham Juicy Wizard, ANGUSSSSSSSS, and Jenkins McShittywizard (My favorite train gang!)
Travis making fun of Griffin for how he needs to sleep with 100000000 pillows (I cherish all of these out of character bits where they really just dog on one another)
Angus, my sweet summer child don’t talk to strangers. We know your grandfather’s name was long forgotten even though you’re going to visit him in Never Winter.
The boys legit think Angus is evil and Griffin yells at them bc they are being racist. (1- how are they being legit racist? You haven’t introduced anything about Angus’ race at all?) (2- Jesus he is only 10 years old my dudes)
Graham is 36 years young and is crazy obsessed with trains and his real name is Percy? He is shadowing Jenkins in hopes of learning more about working on a train
Taako from TV! (And so his legend begins!)
Ch 4
Jenkins is harnessing a limited version of teleportation magic
Angus calling the boys out on their bullshit
Taako calling Angus “pumpkin” (Literally melts my heart. I wish someone called me cute nicknames. Also, Taako hasn’t even talked to this kid that much and that name is reoccurring)
Angus has a nondescript blue book that is able to intercept messages sent through magical means (Where did this child get this book and who let him keep it? This is legit just like letting children under 13 have access to the unrestricted internet. It’s literal Hell)
The bit with Angus and “PRYING EYES AND EARS!” (uh foreshadowing my guy)
They find “Jenkins” Dead body after hearing Graham scream
Merle is able to identify a lot of things by looking at the body (It still scares me that he is technically a Physician.)
Angus pulls a small CROSSBOW OUT OF HIS SLEEVE? (Where did he get this, how did he keep it from Hudson, Why the fuck does he have it)
Angus really said “you guys run I’ll get rid of him!” and grabs Graham and runs (How strong is this child. He’s legit lifting and pulling a grown-ass man without help)
”I’m following Angus I’ll see yall in hell!” ~Taako (Yes follow the badass 10-year old please)
”I wanna tell you about the time about this time there were three ogres…”~Taako
The Foley work bit and then Griffin just snapping “The train derails and you all die” (Another out of character goof that I cherish)
”I shit and take 14 damage” ~Griffin (are you okay? How much health do you have? What’s your max HP dude?)
Taako makes the Crab monster Levitate
Magnus punched the crab monster out of the window and it got scrapped up on the side of the train
Ch 5
They follow the Crab into their sleeper car and Magnus attacks with a chair and Griffin says “I imagine because you are so skilled at carpentry that you’ve had to attack someone with a chair before so you are in fact proficient in this attack”
Jess comes in and finishes the crab off with her Soul bound ax that she can conjure at any time (This legit just means that Jenkins did not need to carry her ax to the crypt safe. She let him do it for shits n giggles. We stan)
Jess got her last name legally changed to “Beheader” and Magnus says that he got his legally changed to “The Hammer” (Really Magnus… this isnt 3rd grade stop trying to impress her. It’s that or it could be another sad reference to “Hammer and Tongs” which would mean Julia was “Tongs” D: that is so depressing and cute)
Magnus and Merle are making good progress in solving the murder
”Alright lads” “oh fuck” When Merle keeps up his disguise as Leimann Kessler (It’s so funny because his fake Leimann Kessler is just his current Argonaut Keen.)
”I cast ZONE OF TRUTH” “Jesus you’re like a zone of truth cleric” (Oh honey. This is just the beginning)
Magnus wakes Graham up with a 5% smack with his left hand and then a 6.5% smack also with his left hand (Wtf is this BNHA? Alright Deku)
Taako is an Alcoholic? (He keeps asking for a drink ...This is a bit concerning but it makes sense)
Magnus slaps Graham again with 7.2% and he popped something in Graham’s jaw and he begins screaming but Merle heals him (OKAY DEKU COOL IT MY GUY)
”I wanna be a guy... with a head!” ~” Hudson” (hehe foreshadowing)

Ch 6
The “fisticuffs” scene with Taako and Angus (Now this is really concerning considering his backstory. I know it’s a joke because of how many people they accidentally kill all the time but like dude… little do you know…)
Angus leading them through the mystery is so cute. But also you know its Griffin trying to get his family to really think it through and I love it. (It really makes my heart really full to hear Griffin get really excited when they figure it out slowly instead of mocking them when they guess wrong)
MERLE YES! MAGNUS YES! YOU’RE GETTING IT! YOU’RE SO CLOSE! (Teamwork makes the dream work baby!)
Magnus jumps out of the train and Griffin gets really serious and gives him the “if you fail this you will actually die” speech (This coupled with the fight scene that Magnus accidentally skipped and the fact that originally Travis did want Magnus to die so he could re-roll a rogue is so wild)
Magnus is gonna become a wrecking ball Jesus (very Magnus-core)
Hell yeah, Magnus! Knock the meat monster into Jenkins!!
Magnus gets hit for 10 points at 1hp and paries it for 10 points! (Top ten anime near-death experiences)
Jenkins threatens to kill the meat monster. Horribly misses then is thrown off the fucking train by the meat monster (Get fucked wrecked Jenkins that’s what you get for being cocky!)
Ch 7
They find the dousing rod compass that Jenkins was using and find the monocle (Pirates of the Caribbean much?)
Taako grabs The Oculus because he has escaped the thrall of a relic before
It tells him that it can make anything he can imagine (This is really interesting tbh)
The Umbrastaff eATS JENKINS WAND!!! and a Lil sigil appears on the handle of the staff that also looks like an umbrella (Lup gets fed lmao. Don’t really understand the Sigil appearing tho. It doesn’t come up any other time I don’t think so it’s cool)
Taako grabs the teleport wand thing and asks everyone to leave and he grabs a bunch of shit from the Cryptsafe pile (Very Taako-core)
They make it to the engineer’s room and Graham tries to slow the train down but he can’t
Taako wanted to open the gate to Never Winter to Phandalin but they change it to Jenkins’ garden because it needs to be a room with “one entrance” (Solid idea on Taako’s part. If it were to work no one would have been hurt)
Taako pushed Angus off the train and he looses two teeth (This man pushed a whole child off the train… ‘Ight)
Magnus dies by jumping off the train (Top ten anime death scenes)
Taako successfully opens the gate into Jenkin’s garden and the train crashes into the garden
Magnus is stabilized by Merle (Awe so the Cleric can do his job!)
Angus gives them pringles for Robbie and the compass. Taako gives Angus one of the forks from his grandfather’s set.
They go to a nearby Never Winter Clinic to get patched up
Out of character, they choose to work on voices and Griffin calls them out bc he’s been doing 8 “different” voices and Clint goes “Yeah try doing that for 40 years” get fuckin rOASTED Ditto! (Also Griffin I love you but like 3 of the voices were the exact same and 2 were so similar it wasn’t funny. Don’t get me wrong different voices aren’t my strong suit either but ya did give it your best shot so.)
We goin’ back to the moon baby!

The oculus works with illusory magic (Which is very interesting bc I know it was made by Davenport because he also worked in allusory magic but I don’t ever remember him using any magic… who knows maybe he has and I just never realized)

First Part (Second Part)
1 • What is your MC’s name? What is their name origin? What does it mean (if it ever has a meaning).
- Winter, but (Do I call her an ‘OC’ instead of an MC?). It’s my name, but in story, there’s speculation. The favourite version of events is that it’s based on the extremely pale skin she has, but that version doesn’t really track all that well - since Diavolo gave her her present form (because y’know flaming wheels with eyes is not exactly great for an exchange program). More likely Diavolo went ahead with that for the lulz. She has another name but it’s the ‘would need to remove your tongue probably and possibly uttering it would do horrible things to other organs as well’, so y’know she needed a ‘be not afraid’ form. Winter’s easy enough to remember anyway without diving into the rest of it.
2 • When is their birthday? How old are they? What about their zodiac sign? (bonus point if you give their rising or even their birth/natal chart)
- Birthday is September 6, Virgo, for all that it means. Sun rising in Virgo. Winter is much, MUCH older than Luke, but not old enough to remember the Celestial War.
3 • What is your MC’s gender? And what are their sexual/romantic preferences?
- Being an Angel, Winter is supposed to platonically love ever living creature (and does) and Heavenly Father above all else. However she seems to have a little bit of an issue keeping things that way....
Overall, Winter seems to be pansexual with strong shades of Demisexual/Demiromantic - those she has become close to seem to have relationships that are much, MUCH more nuanced than what would seem appropriate for an Angel. 
Winter identifies as female and uses she/her pronouns. In her natural form it’s a ‘They/Them’ situation but in her humanesque guise, she/her seems more organic.
4 • What is your MC’s race? (human, demon, angel, other). If human, what are their nationality and origins?
- Angel...and remains so so far.... She is an ophanim and so was given a more appropriate, non-fear inducing humanesque form for use with the exchange program. So far she looks like a very-very-very-VERY pale skinned feminine presenting individual with black hair and blue eyes. She could ALMOST pass for a white person in the Human Realm...but she’s maybe just a little -too- white (not White, though perhaps a little of that too) for even a very light skinned person, and maybe her eyes are a little TOO blue (but contacts?). 
5 • Before coming to Devildom, what was their occupation? (job, studies…)
- Ophanim, pulling Heavenly Father’s chariot across the Celestial Realm.
6 • Height? Weight? Describe their body type.
- QUITE short and very slight, perhaps just barely pushing 157cm and maybe looks to be somewhere in the 100-110 lb range, but this said, it’s always a shock when the little waif type can merrily scrimmage with Beel and the rest of the Fangol team. 
Beel -struggles- with this; every instinct is telling him to help her put on some bulk, but on the other hand he has been on the receiving end of her tackles enough times to know she’s absolutely fully capable the way she is.
Going quite along with the ‘Demons and Angels are seriously attractive’ it wouldn’t be out of place to say Winter’s quite as attractive as any of them. Just a little -too- attractive to be human. 
7 • Who is/are your MC’s love interest(s) (if they ever have one). Summarise their dynamic.
- Depending on the version of events, Beel is her main love interest and their dynamic started (and does continue) as Captain and - eventually - Co-Captain. Winter’s able to keep up with Beel physically too and he appreciates having someone he doesn’t have to hold back with his strength on. Winter can hold her own and even take him down if need be (Beel’s still stronger, but an unfocused rampaging Beel can be subdued by Winter’s strategic calm). They can get competitive for fun but ultimately are pretty cuddly and happy.
They make an even better team and Winter’s pretty ballsy for an Angel and rather willing to take part in what the Devildom has to offer - so she’s more than happy to go on little adventures (mostly food related). In addition, Winter respects the place of Belphie in their relationship and is more than happy to include him (Not in THAT way)
They really both care a great deal about one another but where their relationship falters is that Beel feels Winter does not understand what it would ultimately mean for them to stay together  - they want to stay together but also Beel knows what it means to fall...
- Mammon and Winter are close (some would say ‘very close’ or  ‘too close’) of friends. Winter does NOT like how Mammon’s treated (particularly by Lucifer) and defends him to the death. 
Winter can temper Mammon’s wildness and impulsiveness and will put an end to schemes that go too far. 
The duo is very cuddly - Beel tends not to mind all that much for two reasons - the first being that Winter is an Angel and for all that she can push the envelope of that a little, there’s certain things she won’t do - ‘cheat’ is one major one. The other is that unlike with MC, Mammon has no blushy tsundere tendencies around Winter.  On the other hand, if one didn’t know the two, it would likely be a first reaction to assume that Winter and Mammon are the couple and Beel and Winter are the good friends.
In all seriousness if Beel wasn’t interested, Mammon and Winter would end up together - and it would happen the same way as their friendship. Just a very natural progression and one day everyone wakes up and they’re in a relationship.  
8 • Does your MC have any specific appearance features? (Scars, marks, anything else)
- Winter has a big pair of fluffy white wings that, unlike the Demon bros. are constantly on display. They used to bother her but she’s made them work for her. Has been widely speculated (and is almost DEFINITELY probably true) that Diavolo made her look something like a storybook angel. 
9 • Does your MC have any disabilities? (physical, mental health, etc). How do they deal with it?
- Winter can get severely depressed and will try to the best of her ability to hide it. She doesn’t do a good job, so she has a pretty good support network; particularly in Siemon who has had experience dealing with some of the things that can shake her generally cheerful nature.
10 • How do you imagine your MC’s voice? Describe it.
- Winter is LOUD. Justified as she is usually screaming on a Fangol field - or needing to talk over Mammon. Accent wouldn’t be terribly out of place in Northern England. 
- In quieter moments where she is focused she comes across as far more stern and serious, but will change her tune pretty quickly - particularly since everyone’s favourite go-to way of teasing her is telling her she’s behaving like Lucifer (They’re not wrong actually - the two are very similar...just...don’t ever mention it to either)
11 • Does your MC have any tattoos or piercings? Just tell us more about it!
- Not a one, though she does manifest extra eyes when she’s excited or agitated. Mammon has TRIED to get her ears (her EARS!) pierced - however she just won’t. 
12 • Describe their clothing style (if they have a favorite style). Do they have specific accessories Bonus question: how do they wear RAD uniform?
- Winter wears her RAD Uniform like it’s supposed to go
- Lots of sports clothes - track pants, shorts, jerseys in RAD colours
- Siemon has joked she doesn’t own a raiment.
- Asmo has PLANS to steal her for the day
- Does clean up nicely however. Goes a little pastel goth when dressed up
13 • Is your MC able to use magic? If so, are they skilled? How do they learn? Were they able to use it before coming to Devildom?
- Winter has magic being an Angel, but she, like Beel prefers to rely on her strength and presence to make her way. 
- She can perform minor miracles - such include restocking the fridge when Beel empties it before MC can get to him, or putting back objects Mammon has taken. However these things come with a price  (eg: Winter can replace food but would have to go without) 
14 • Describe your MC’s parents (names, jobs, personalities). Do they have any siblings? What is their relationship with their family?
- Heavenly Father. We know what that guy’s about.
15 • How many language do they speak? Which ones?
- Winter’s a polyglot + Angel = knows all languages across all realms. 
16 • What is their relationship with each brother?
- Lucifer: Very high suspicion and disdain where his treatment of Mammon is concerned. Does not like to admit that Lucifer’s (objectively) better qualities are also some of hers. When they do admit any grudging respect for eachother - it is in regards to their loyalty and hard work ethic. (They’ll also set aside a little time at parties - both Lucifer (for reasons of state and appearance) and Winter (she learned how to improve agility in sports) are excellent dancers.
- Mammon  as above - best friends. Certainly Mammon was pretty impressed the little lower angel was intervening on behalf of his punishment, but really they just got to talking later and found they get on very well. Winter’s able to hold Mammon back a bit - but it’s no big secret - they go out somewhere and wind up talking for hours instead of whatever crazy scheme Mammon was originally planning. Have a 1001 inside jokes and also get really cuddly (Mammon won’t admit but Winter’s ‘big stupid fake wings’ are snuggly and he will find ways to comandeer them. (”Say, Asmo and Belphie were weights for Beel, how about I be yours.)
- Levi’s the Otaku, Winter’s a jock and so she doesn’t get the appeal of staying in all day. She can get a little at odds with him - as he’s one of Mammon’s prime tormentors. She also can argue with him over the realism of sports anime. Utlimately they don’t have much of a reason to talk and if Levi does show up to a group setting, it’s not in Winter’s nature to antagonize him without cause. She does however like a couple of his idol groups or at least is able to mention the songs that are on her workout playlist.
- Satan and Winter don’t ACTIVELY seek eachother out but when they do, they can get going pretty good on literature. Winter’s a decent student - but not decent enough to surpass Satan, so there’s not too much jealousy and competitiveness. What Satan DOES like about Winter is that ability to speak everything and her excellent keynote memory. If he can’t remember where something is in a book they were reading he can always ask her. Plus it doesn’t hurt that it’s no big secret she has about as much contempt for Lucifer as he does.
- Asmo and Winter - Asmo would love to take Winter shopping, get her a manicure, take her to the beauty parlor. Winter doesn’t mind the teasing (though as with Levi she will shut down the moment he starts talking smack about Mammon). She can get a little frustrated with Asmo’s incessant questions about Beel - what does he look like in the shower. What have they done together. Random advice about what their first time should be like. And pretty sure Winter’s soul left her body the day she found out he asked Beel if she had any extra eyes...er...in...-intimate places-. 
 Beel and Winter - See Relationship Status.  In the early stages of their relationship, Winter liked Beel right away as Beel wasn’t dismissive of her showing up to Fangol tryouts. Beel was at least intrigued that this random Angel seemed as interested in it as he was - and better yet was good! He was also excited from the get go to have a friend he could roughhouse with without hurting them. Even his own brothers can’t deal with his full strength.
- Belphie and Winter - Winter’s never really -got- Belphie and his sarcasm. She understands how important a part of Beel’s life he is and very much wants him to like her personally. He does - he of course trusts his brother but it’s the fact that Winter is accepting of Beel’s presence. Even if Beel were to wind up with MC or with another individual, he’d always be a major part of Beel’s life and he wouldn’t be able to accept someone who didn’t accept him that way. If he starts treating Winter the same way he does Beel, they’ll probably really get along in the end.
17 • What is their relationship with each side characters?
- Luke and Winter - Winter is the cool older Sister to Luke so to speak. She’s a little younger than Siemon (or Lucifer or Michael for that matter) and he tends to listen to her (though is still not sure why exactly she’s so interested in those demons. She will tell Mammon off on his behalf too - (He’s not a chihuahua, stop that! You don’t like it much when people call you scummy, do you?). Beel is, however...well...it’s not like he SUPPORTS that relationship (but he does support that relationship.)
Siemon and Winter - Siemon is a mentor in the Devildom and he understands some of what Winter is going through. He after all has a relationship with a dear friend (once a brother) and it makes things harder when that dear friend is a fallen former angel. Siemon is pretty good - he doesn’t have to ‘parent’ Winter the way he does Luke but he cares for her well being.
- Solomon and Winter - Oh GOODNESS SOLOMON WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! That many pacts can’t be good for---Are you pacting demons to cook for us? Barbatos and Winter - Likely very chill - Winter doesn’t mess with the timeline and Barbatos doesn’t have any reason to get up her bum. Definitely does appreciate her relationship with Beel and Mammon both and offers foodstuffs for the both of them.Has a minor side bet going with Lord Diavolo - in .9 /10 timelines she winds up with Beel, but sometimes she winds up with Mammon. Diavolo and Winter: Everyone how fucking hilarious would it be: Angel and the future/defaco ruler of the devildom dancing together? Cause that is what happens. And there is mass joy there. Winter believes he likes MC and is a bit of a shipper on deck. Winter lets Diavolo play his pranks and is happy to see the results.

- Winter is a jock and likes watching sports as well. She’s also a clever strategist, She’s actually an excellent dancer - she did it in the first place to improve her agility on the field, but she wound up enjoying it. Funnily enough it’s one of the rare and few places she actually enjoys spending time with Lucifer - he’s actually really good...and YOU try prying Beel away from the buffet table at a party. Mammon will dance...and then piss and moan about trying to work up to dancing with MC all night.

- Winter is deemed a little TOO rebellious for an angel, so Heavenly Father decided she should go and see what the Devildom was actually like - in the hopes of scaring her straight. Er...she um...liked it. A lot. And found a Demon she wants to stay for so THAT was a fail and a half.

- Winter’s a definite ESTJ.

- Being an angel, she holds no pacts for obvious reasons.

- The middle of the Fangol field, but sometimes when there’s no one there, or just to look at it when it’s quiet with the stadium lights on

- Pride. And NEVER mention it. Ever.

- Loyal to a fault, generally cheerful and a dedicated friend. But that said she’s also a stickler for the rules, doesn’t bend for much and can be prejudiced. She can be easily swayed by a kind attitude (Hey it’s how she fell for Beel and became friends with Mammon)
That said the two whom she came to love are both her greatest strength of personality and her biggest downfall. It’s not that she doesn’t recognize an opportunity to punish their sins It’s simply she loves them too much and is too loyal to actually want to - hence ‘to a fault’.
Winter’s greatest sin is pride and she prides herself on keeping MC away from the temptations in the Devldom, but she doesn’t quite see her own sins in the process. In some ways, not bad but also she has her lover as a glutton and her best mate as a greedy arsrehole and she can’t see how it’s affecting her even though she’s trying.

- To date there is nothing they’d not give up for another being.And if Beel or Mammon asked for it they could have an Angel’s soul....but....neither would ask.

- Mammon is Winter’s best friend and if Beel didn’t want them then well, Mammon would. End of story do not pass go do not collect 200 quid.
