The Age of Majority: A Hatchening Chapter 3

After the anti-climatic meeting with Desmond and her promise to Jason to call should she need assistance in the future. The two packed up and made their way to Rachel’s apartment to meet with the rest of the Outlaws, as well as Donna and Wally whose warehouse explosions had gone off without a hitch.

Stepping into her apartment she was taken aback by the noise, having grown used to the silence and the solitude. The living room was also unusually warm, the press of many bodies into the small space serving to hide the fact that her heat was still out of commission. 

As soon as the window was shut and the blinds were drawn, Jason removed his helmet, gaze taking in her dilapidated though clean couch, before moving to the suspicious stains on the corner of her ceiling. His face was blank and Rachel couldn’t tell if he was judging the place or not, but she soon relaxed when he finally turned his gaze to her and gave her a smirk.

One of the joys of The Hatchening is learning more about my snakes' genetics. Apollo II was sold as an Ice (Anery + Lava), and as a little lad it was very clear that there was something else at play here. This is him as a snuppy (snake puppy):

Looking at him as an adult, he's got lot of yellow tone in his saddles that has increased over time, and his light eye tells me that there's something causing hypomelanism.

I thought it might be Hypo, like in Olaf, but Olaf is pinker where Apollo II is more yellowy.

With the knowledge that Lumi is definitely het Amel and het Hypo, the pink babies I'm seeing in LA23, and Apollo II's breeder admitting that he had Ultra creeping around in his lines, I strongly suspect that Apollo II is an Ultramel Ice. This is his first year successfully breeding, so I think a test pairing is in order next year to confirm.

Got to 500 chest!!! I'm trying to not go too over board with chest collecting so I don't have to click through too many chests before the great hatchening. I'm probably done with coli grinding for the sake of my little fingies and done with bonding with all my familiars and just going back to bonding with equipped and non awakened to also save my wrists lol.
