Edward James Olmos is a Mexican-American actor and director best known for his roles as William Adama in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, Lt. Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, teacher Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver, patriarch Abraham Quintanilla in the film Selena, Detective Gaff in Blade Runner, and narrator El Pachuco in both the stage and film versions of Zoot Suit. He recently starred as Professor Gellar in Showtime’s serial killer series, Dexter.

Olmos became the first American-born Hispanic to receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, in Stand and Deliver, for his portrayal of a real-life math teacher, Jaime Escalante. Olmos starred as the taciturn police Lieutenant Martin Castillo in the television series Miami Vice, opposite Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas. He was awarded a Golden Globe and an Emmy in 1985 for his work in the series. He starred alongside Jennifer Lopez in the film Selena. Olmos played Dominican Republic dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo in the movie In the Time of the Butterflies. He also had a recurring role as U.S. Supreme Court Justice Roberto Mendoza in the NBC drama The West Wing.

He has been a longtime pioneer for more diversified roles and images of Hispanics in the U.S. media. Along with appearances in television classics like Starsky & Hutch and CHiPs, Olmos has also appeared in Mayans MC, George Lopez, CSI: NY, Eureka, and Portlandia. His other notable film roles include The Burning Season, The Judge, and The Green Hornet.

Edward James Olmos is appearing at @phoenixfanfusion and has won viewers' hearts in his numerous television and movie roles. Having been featured on such hit titles as Miami Vice, Blade Runner, Battlestar Galactica and Agents of SHIELD, EJO has done and seen it all.⁠

He has been in the industry since the 1980s, getting his acting break portraying the narrator, called “El Pachuco,” in the play Zoot Suit.⁠

In 1981 he made Wolfen with Albert Finney, and in 1982 he accepted the role of Gaff in Blade Runner with Harrison Ford. In 1984, after difficult negotiations in which he gained the right of creative control over his character of Lieutenant Martin Castillo, Eddie joined the cast of the very popular “Miami Vice.”⁠

EJO is well known for “Battlestar Galactica,” which enjoyed four seasons of rave reviews and became one of the most honored science fiction shows of all time winning the Peabody Award and several Emmys. He played the lead character of Admiral Adama, the heart and soul of the show and of the series. He directed several episodes of “Battlestar Galactica” and a BSG movie titled The Plan.⁠

Eddie was also seen in the role of Michael Axford in The Green Hornet and featured in Agents of SHIELD as Robert Gonzales, the leader of “the real SHIELD”.⁠

thinking today about how much I love literally all fiber arts. I am hopeless at almost every other kind of art, but as soon as there is thread, yarn, or string I can figure it out fairly quickly.

I learned how to knit when i was eight, started sewing at nine, my dad taught me rock climbing knots around that age, I figured out from a book how to make friendship bracelets, I've made my own drop spindle to make yarn with, and more recently I've picked up visible mending. I've learned embroidery through fixing my overalls, and this year I've learned how to darn and how to do sashiko (which I did for the first time today). After years of being unable to crochet I finally figured it out last night and made seven granny squares in just a few hours.

I want to learn every fiber art that I can. I want to quilt, I want to use a spinning wheel, I want to weave, I want to learn tatting, I want to learn how to weave a basket, I want to learn them all. If I could travel through time and meet anyone in the Bible, high on my list are the craftsmen who made the Tabernacle.

I want to travel the world and learn the fiber arts of every culture, from the gorgeous Mayan weaving in Guatemala, to the stunning batik of Java, to Kente in Ghana. I want to sit at the feet of experienced men and women and watch them do their craft expertly and learn from them.

Of every art form I've seen, it's fiber arts that tug most at my heartstrings.

So, EZ is giving me strong Tara gone rogue vibes with the hitting himself and mirror scene. The only way he keeps this momentum going is if he justifies every kill in his mind. Angel and Manny definitely suspect something is up with EZ. His casual demeanor and drinking to this guy's death is wild to me. I wasn't team Canche but the kill was spontaneous and did catch me off guard. But Canche did make the same vow to EZ, so i guess EZ just beat him to it. Every kill so far has had its own justification, but every kill is driving EZ's morale deeper and deeper. As for bieber haircut girl, i see a very violent end for her and her sister. Its kind of sad how easily manipulated she is by her sister. She has no issue with her sister dying but Lord forbid her racist boyfriend is in the ICU. As for EL Banquero's sister, i hope she does team up with Miguel over her brother. He's a loose Canon and is clearly incapable of composing himself. Also, I hope Luisa stays and doesn't let the guilt she feels draw her away from the baby.

being in a small fandom is like being given a bone, chewing on it until you're done with it, burying it in your backyard, and then digging that same chewed up bone months later to continue chewing on it, and then the cycle just repeats.this is especially true for small fandoms that you know won't be getting any new content, so you just have to consume the content you've already consumed thousands of times before.
