Tales From Pixie Hollow Is Out

Despite some ardent campaigning for these books, Tales from Pixie Hollow is out of the running for best childhood book. But fret not, below are some ways to get into the series and fandom!

For those who don't know, before the Disney movie Tinkerbell came out, they hired Gail Carson Levine, beloved children's author, to write a few books as promotion for the movies. She wrote the Disney Fairies Trilogy which include Tinker Bell but are mostly about Prilla, a Never fairy who doesn't know her talent. When the movies came out, Disney continued in this vein by releasing shorter books known as Tales from Pixie Hollow that followed a single fairy's day-to-day challenges. The characters from the movies, Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn, Rosetta, and Vidia, all make appearances, but other amazing characters were introduced like Rani, Dulcie, Fira, Bess, and Beck. If you like lighthearted, slice-of-life fiction, beautiful illustrations, and fairies, you should give them a go!

Did you ever decide whether sapient magic weapons get rights?

So in the Dwarven Empire of Khazat they do. The continent of Hindrance has an interesting effect on any weapon forged there and there is a chance the item gains sentience. A combo of Magic and crossed active fault lines causes the continent to be in the midst of a constant earthquake. The magic soaks into the ore in the earth and the forging process can cause sentience. There the living items have the same rights as any citizen and a common starter job is assisting these items in getting from place to place. Some have been sentient long enough they begin to develop either magic to use to get around or legit grow limbs from more ore.

Many places are more on the fence as they are less common. Mistport and Popolis both deny rights to sentient items including warforged. Most kingdoms or countries grant them the same rights as Warforged and other such construct races. Which is to say full rights. But its so uncommon outside of Khazat that it rarely comes up and is far from common knowledge.
