80s fantasy movies have a very specific type of feeling to them that modern fantasy cannot replicate because they refuse to do what 80s movies did. Which is take 8 trees, a few puppets, a couple young actors, 1000 pounds of glitter and possibly a live animal stick them on a soundstage and build a dream

Studios are so obsessed with trying to find the next cash cow that they will kill the calf before it's weaned from its mothers milk.

DPxDC prompt
Team Phantom all have an inside joke where they refer to Dani as Danny’s daughter, while also calling Vlad an absentee mother who doesn’t pay child support.
Eventually Danny’s at the Justice league space station and hears some of the senior members talking about how the current Robin has attempted to stab a multiple people.
Danny curiously asks them about Robin and eventually they tell him he’s 11 and he just accidentally blurts out that his daughter’s around robins age.
The league members, stare at “eternally a teenager” Danny and go through mini existential crisis about the member that looks like a child having a child of their own. One of them asks if his daughter’s adopted and Danny says that she’s biologically his.
They ask about her mother or other parent and he says that if his daughters “mother” paid child support then he could have a say in things.
Eventually the conversation gets to Batman’s ears and he corners Phantom, not for learning sensitive information about Robin, but for parenting tips.
Now Danny’s giving Batman advice on how to treat/care for a surprise ex-assassin child with an absentee criminal “mother” who obsesses over their child’s father.

Almost all of my favorite shows (Rise, Dark Crystal, Inside Job, Infinity Train) were cancelled…BY NETWORKS! Not by writers! Heck! The writers WANTED TO KEEP GOING! To keep making their characters, their art, and their stories told.
Writers are not the problem. Artists are not the problem. They almost never are! Corporations are the problem. Execs are the problem. So many great shows get sabotaged by their own studio (I.E. Rise of the TMNT) and then the studio turns around and acts as though it was the lack of fan engagement. It’s why I tend to watch shows that were made years in the past. They created the problem and now they’re scapegoating writers.
If studios gave up on every show that had a lackluster first season that didn’t pull in the numbers…we wouldn’t have had classics like the Office, OR Parks and Recreation, OR Brooklyn 99. It took a while for those shows to get good.
Writers WANT to create! It’s the studios/corporations that are the problem. It’s A.I. art that is the problem!
Reward writers! Reward artists! Support them! Not the big company’s that don’t respect them!
And don’t ever give up the fight for what you want!

does anyone else get so upset when you think about all the things that happened to your f/o... all the things they went through? all the things they haven't healed from? the pain that they may still be enduring? how you can do your best to help them but you can't protect them from everything. so you just love them the ways they needed before, how they deserved. and you see them happy because they finally accept, at least in some ways, that they do deserve it. they deserve love like all beings do

Also just an excuse for me to draw creepy birds with teeth. The first one is based on the bearded vulture, and the second one is based on a cormorant.
