the zoomers playing gachas now get so defensive and aggressive over them compared to what I remember from the early to mid 2010s. I see so many people saying “well Y is a gacha but you totally don’t need to spend like Z gacha! It’s more like a live service!”, or “X gacha fans try playing a gacha that actually respects you like Y!” I see this all the time for people shilling shit like Arknights or Limbus Company. Please for the love of god can we get back to the point where everyone can recognize creating a game in the gacha genre is inherently exploitive. I’m not saying this to shame anyone who plays them because I don’t really give a shit, of course there’s pedo-pandering heavy games like blue archive and increasingly FGO that I wish would EoS but that’s a different discussion. If these “nice” gachas wanted to be “buy an update a month” or whatever live service games, they would have been. It doesn’t matter if you think they’re nice about it, they made these games specifically to be gachas because they make a shit ton of money. In one single “dead” month for Limbus Company they basically made the same amount of money that the entire Pathologic 2 kickstarter made for example. And this is even after alienating half their fanbase pulling that incel shenanigans shit.
You don’t need to defend their money grubbing asses even if idk you see the game as an inherent aspect of who you are and your identity so anyone criticizing the game itself is as if they’re criticizing you as a person, which, because of the growth of SNS sites especially since covid, I think a chunk of this is. I don’t think that makes these games unable to tell interesting and moving stories or have lovable characters - on the contrary, they have to make sure gacha-original characters will be pulled for, so they invest a lot of time into their appeal, even embarrassingly having them break the 4th wall and directly say this is the case like in FGO. However every single character design and story has to be created under the gacha framework and the unrelenting need to appeal to their userbase. Why do you think there’s a lot of “badass old men” designs in FGO but after 8 years there’s not one single woman with even the whisper a wrinkle? Why did they change Frankenstein’s berserker screams to be a cute anime girl voice? Why do many of the male Arknights characters have detailed, shaded and distinguished facial features while most of the female cast has the classic anime bug eyes, dot nose and line mouth, especially with the full animal-faced characters?
It’s like many entertainment industries where the characters must have mass appeal but on steroids because you’re not paying to buy the game, you’re paying for the 1% chance of getting the character, so the game lives or dies based on their appeal. I don’t even mean this in a sanctimonious “therefore don’t play them” way, there are “traditional” video game companies pulling stupid, damaging and illegal shit all the time, gacha is not the one single evil thing within the industry. I would just like to see recognition about what you’re playing. It’s a gacha game. Yes even Limbus Company is made to have you gamble, that’s literally the reason there’s daily log in incentives and a gacha currency…. It doesn’t matter if you think these games are nice or fair to you. They’re gacha games, they were made to make money from you first and foremost. Keep skeptical about what they do, you don’t need to jump in and defend their practices just because you like the game.

teespring sucks and you should get out asap
I vented about this on twitter cause that's the screaming cup, but I can bitch here too cause it's stupid -- teespring hasn't paid their creators in a month or more. They removed the support and zendesk buttons from their website completely and the CEO sent everyone a very non-apology apology email telling everyone to not be frustrated and be patient, lol.
This has been a big problem for myself since March or so, when their payments began to slow down from every week or so to every 10-12 days, then 2 weeks, then 3, etc. Shifty's store makes up over half of my income because I am on disability. I can't even afford my RENT without teespring. They owe me money going back into June. I've been living off the admin team and the kind people in the Shifty discord for months while I attempt to budget and predict money that just isn't coming. I can't afford to restock our Junk Boxes. I can't afford a fucking happy meal.
CEO of sprong has promised everyone will be paid by August 29th. They are officially blaming this on a bug related to a very recent website update but I suspect they're just fucking broke because they jumped in on some late stage NFT bullshit. They tried to make us shill Poot Coins at you guys. Like I said, this ain't no recent problem, they have been slowing down for months. The pathetic nature of their official communication shows all the red flags of a company dying. We were already in the process of leaving teespring for fourthwall because of how bad they've fucked up other shit this year. I am trying to speed up the move but we have so much SHIT in our store that it's a constant fight with my ADHD to stay on track and keep it moving.
If you have a teespring store and want to move to fourthwall, let me know in dms or send an ask. I have a limited amount of invites. They got print on demand, digital, donations, AND sell from home so I can now sell junk boxes and shirts in one store. They pay on the first of the month every month instead of wildly random like sprong.

Am I the only one who feel super depressed after finishing the demo? I just wanna hug my MC and tell them they deserve the world (and some friends! Like real friends!!)
C’mon can we just not run away somewhere and do some stupid stuffs. Leave all depressing matters like their father or the rROs behind?
TW : Mention of drug use, depression
I am genuinely sorry for that! If you feel affected, it is best to immediately stop to take a break or reconsider playing for your own safety, Anon.
And don't worry. MC will make a lot of friends. Good friends. Besides the RO casts ofc, so you can choose to pull plenty of stupid stunts (if you wish to do so and can handle the consequences.)
Oh well, I was planning to wait until Chapter 2 is nearly ready but I guess I can just spare some spoilers for those who feel angsty about MC's caged situation.
Spoiler for Ch2

(this scene will not be triggered for every route however. so good luck exploring the different paths in the next update!)
Since I have been answering several asks for two entire days, I will take a break for awhile! feel free to send them like usual and all bugs/errors in general will get reviewed once I collect them an amount. (no one sent in any so far but I cannot trust myself enough so) Thanks for sending asks and participate in this journey, it was quite a ride!

Things that are horrendously and embarassingly bad about sse/sso:
Game code and glitches and bugs
Weekly update schedule
Community management
This kind of falls under all three but generally Every part of the game feels unfinished and detached from the rest. Quests don't match up. Basic visual objects (clothing, tack) glitch through each other. Added content is frequently blatantly untested.
I'm not even diving into the dynamics within the company itself.
Or its horrendous marketing.
Also in game items have big inflation problems. Largely caused by the fact that the max amount of js a player can carry at any given time is capped at an amount you can max out in a day or two, which is automatically also a Very Low maximum that you can price an item.
The half-hearted retrofitting whenever they update a part of the game. Horse speed breaking quests. Retrofitting new tack to basic horses. This kind of ties back into point number one.
Things that I Genuinely Like about SSO/are done really well/have no better alternative in the games industry:
Sound design? I feel like people don't talk about this enough. Not just the music but also atmospheric elements are really well done, even if the game struggles with sound triggers sometimes. I especially like the horse-related sounds, as stupid as it sounds. If i can ride a horse in a video game I'm judging it by the noises the horse's hooves make. SSO is like right below tears of the kingdom in that for me.
Map design: It's frankly very impressive how every spot in Jorvik has really good views, and the balance between feeling like places are miles away and giving you excellent traveltime, while still being dense with locations and quest opportunities. Epona feels like three days of travel away, and yet from the right spot you can simply see the castle on the other side of the water!
Individual visual design: I like the look of the new player models (put your nostalgia goggles away. the old shit looks like it belongs in 2005 with oldschool runescape and you know it), same goes with horses, tack, even things like trees and environmental objects. The main problem is the janky mismatch between objects, which traces back to the lack of cohesive long-term vision and planning when it comes to developing the game as a whole, instead of individual parts and pieces.
The thing that actually inspired this post: as troublesome as the js economy is in the game, they've Genuinely hit the mark with starcoins. The goal of a premium currency is the delicate balance between getting as much real-life benefits from your players (whether that be ad revenue or simple direct payment for it) while giving them enough new goodies through it that it makes it worth it for players to put in that extra effort. No company in the industry gives away premium currency on a whim. The 100sc per week, which translates to 5 new horses per year and the occasional bonus if you've saved up more over time, is an excellent structure. You get to buy horses for free if you just wait long enough. You don't need to pay beyond your standard star rider price (and if you haven't bought the permanent version. what are you doing. paying for the pay once option pays itself back in 11 months over the monthly option, and 12 months for the quarterly option. Not even counting the bonus sc you get to begin with). Free weekly sc that are enough for a magic horse 4 times a year, plus a bonus horse or several pets, is an Amazing community service they're frankly doing. And from a company perspective? They are never going to change this in a way that is more beneficial to you. Because the goal of premium currency is not to buy horses, it's to earn the company money. It is the Main way the company earns money. And the 100sc works excellent because it's doing exactly what it needs to do: It's keeping you coming back to buy their new horses, and then makes you go "man I wish I had even more sc", thus tempting you into buying sc. Any increase in starcoins will be the opposite of an incentive to spend money on the game. If management is really stupid and desperate for cash, they will, if anything, decrease the amount of sc you earn, or more subtly increase the price of the things you can buy with it. Because that's what gets you going "Well if I spend just 20 euros, I can buy both new magic horses, and the Dutch Warmblood when it releases in a month."
Starcoins hits a really fucking good sweet spot between earning the company money, and doing a genuine community service by making it accessible on the basic paid version.

The Eternal Issue of Lord Black: Drarry Edition
Okay so I just noticed something and it’s been bugging me for ages and idk if this is legit or if I’m just plain stupid. Or if someone's already talked about this. I am solely basing my knowledge on fanfics/fandom wiki and what little I remember from canon so, meh.
Assuming that the Black Family has a title such as Lord (or Lady) Black, wouldn’t that go to Draco? I know that some fanfictions depict Harry as Lord Black....
Tumblr media
....but here’s the thing.
I think Lordship goes from parent to child or sibling to sibling in an instance where a Lord or Lady doesn’t have children. But if the Lord or Lady left a will stating that they wished the inheritance to go to someone else, then that will would be followed. Which is why it’s acceptable that Sirius left a will saying that everything should go to Harry. BUT…..
Tumblr media
In most of the fanfictions where Draco gets disowned by Lucius, it means that he no longer inherits anything. Not the title or the manor or the Gringotts vaults. So, if that’s what disowning entails then neither Sirius nor Andromeda gets any of the Black inheritance. So, even if Sirius left a will, it wouldn’t (couldn’t) include Black property since Sirius didn’t have the rightful ownership to any. (Even if Sirius was proven to not be a criminal, he was disowned for different reasons, which still stood.)
So, if we go down the family line;
Tumblr media
Orion Black is depicted as Lord Black in many places but he in fact had an elder sister, Lucretia Black, who married Ignatius Prewett (Molly’s uncle). But apparently, she wasn’t disowned for it
Tumblr media
so if we follow normal inheritance laws, she was Lady Black until she died in 1992.
She outlived Orion (died in 1979) so Orion technically never became Lord Black to begin with. But after Lucretia Balck’s death (since she had no children), the inheritance should go to her sibling….
Orion Black, who is dead.
Then, since he has children, his sons.
Sirius Black, disowned. So, it wouldn’t matter if he had children. We move on to his sibling.
Regulus Black, dead. But if he had children, they would’ve inherited it, but he didn’t. So, I think we go to Cygnus Black (Orion and Lucretia’s younger brother).
[Update: I'm sorry, not younger brother, it's younger cousin. In which case, Walburga would come before Cygnus but when Lucretia died, Cygnus was the only one left so, this changes nothing.]
He died the same year as Lucretia, but there’s no date. So, he could’ve been Lord Black for a short amount of time.
After him, his children.
Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black, dead. (She was Lady Black while in Azkaban after her father’s death though) Didn’t have any children, so we go to her sibling.
Andromeda Tonks, disowned. Doesn’t inherit anything herself so she can’t give anything to Nymphadora.
So, we go to Cygnus’s next (and last) daughter, Narcissa.
She’s alive at the end of canon so she technically becomes Lady Black.
She wasn’t disowned so after her, according to inheritance laws (??), Draco becomes Lord Black.
Tumblr media
Or maybe I’m missing some important thing here? If spouses are also in line for inheritance, then after Lucretia, it could be Ignatius Prewett. After whom the inheritance would still jump back to Orion (since they don’t have children and Lucretia’s family blood is priority), then Walburga, Sirius, Regulus, Cygnus, Druella Black (Cygnus’s wife), Bellatrix, Rodolphus Lestrange (also dead, I think?), Narcissa, Lucius, Draco…and maybe then Harry.
BUT, is some instances in actual world history, when a Lord or Lady was named for a family, whomever they married took the other title, meaning that a married couple was always the Lord and Lady of the House. (Which actually makes sense) It didn’t mean that inheritance laws changed. If a father is the Lord by blood, and the mother is the Lady since she married him, then after the father’s passing, the mother is no longer Lady. The title moves on to her children and whomever they marry.
So, Narcissa becomes Lady Black by blood (and Lady Malfoy through marriage) and Lucius becomes Lord Black through marriage. Then when Draco becomes Lord Black after Narcissa’s passing, Harry (I’m not going for canon here, I’m going for drarry) becomes Lord Black too.
Tumblr media
Also just realised that Draco is both Lord Black and Lord Malfoy through blood.
Did I even make sense?
This is a goldmine for post-war drarry fanfictions though. And for jegulus fics as well.
Imagine Regulus becoming Lord Black after Aunt Lucretia died and James becomes Lord Black too... Sirius just sitting there like

I hate the claims that BG3 has set a new yet unsustainable standard for games.
What gamer bros and AAA title devs/directors are misunderstanding is that we don't want every game to be as big and as complex as BG3.
BG3 has no micro transactions and put the players experience first. You got a wonderful game that the devs were passionate about. It was straight forward from its point of official release, and people can tolerate the bugs because Larian dedicates time to figure them out and fix them to the best of their abilities. BG3 isn't perfect by any means, but it's fucking incredible considering how small of a studio Larian is. It also shows that a small staff can make something incredible.
They also seem to think that six years of development (three of which were early access to gather player feedback) is somehow not normal? Every Elder Scrolls game has taken YEARS between releases. It's been a decade since Skyrim and we still haven't seen another TES title outside of ESO. (Yes I'm aware one is in development, but it's not here yet is it?) A six year development for a game as good as BG3 from a studio as small as Larian Studios is not nearly as insane as some people seem to claim it is.
Also, it looks to play a little like Champions of Norath/Champions Return to Arms and several mobile games I've seen in the last year so I don't think it's as niche as everyone claims it is. Even Swen Vincke said as much.
The difference being that Bethesda has more than one title in the works at a time, and there are other releases for different games inbetween TES and Fallout. Sometimes even that can't save a studio.
If any studio, let alone a small one, only released one game every six to ten years they would risk going under if the game flopped. What Larian achieved is something that has definitely killed many small studios. And let's not forget that with their current success comes a great deal of luxury for adding a stupid(/pos) amount of tiny details... like an update giving exposed penises wiggle physics when the characters don't have a boner. Most people have to rely on the modding community for that shit.
Dedicating several studios, or even departments worldwide to one game is just not something every developer can feasibly do. (I think AAA studios could, but if you say that then people get mad, like they're not raking in billions of dollars and you're just being unreasonable.)
I personally would gladly wait between games as long as I got a product that was finished and engaging, without an immediate need for DLC to add what are necessary features to a game. (Looking at EA and the Sims... Also Hearthstone should have been base game for Skyrim as well, but maybe that was asking for too much in 2011.) And while I am sure I'm not alone, and it's been shown that people are far more forgiving of delays when the game is actually good, that's just not how the industry is anymore and it can't just get fixed overnight.
Games as huge as BG3 are also just... A lot. There is no need for every game or story to be that long every single time. But again, no one is asking for that. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is awesome and I still replay that game, and I can beat it in about four hours if I'm only doing main quests and not rushing. It's not a big game by any means, but I enjoy it for what it is and I come back to it often. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a very limited game as far as customization and story options, but it's also beautiful and fun and I adore playing it.
And this doesn't apply to fantasy RPGs! I still play L4D2 with my sister and our cousin on a regular basis. In fact we're trying to get together this weekend to do exactly that. Every campaign can be beaten on normal difficulty in under an hour. We typically play every campaign when we run the game.
A game doesn't need to be massive to be good, and a lot of people are claiming that's what people want just to be obstinate.
There is, of course, a very real worry that out of touch CEOs and company execs will 100% think that bigger means better, and I won't deny that. But if anyone thinks that's what consumers want then they're delusional.
The only standard being raised by Larian Studios is the standard that the studios themselves should uphold when it comes to making a quality game that is fun for the players and finished on release without DLC and especially without abusing their employees... And that's the bare fucking minimum.

Can you do a fanfic where Sam reveals to Kensi everyone knows she and Deeks are together in 6x18. It kinda bugged me we never got to see the whole scene where she found out everyone knew so I was hoping you could fill in the blanks please.
Worst Kept Secret
“You expecting a call?” Sam asked, startling Kensi enough to make her jerk. “That’s about the sixth time you checked your phone since we got in the car.”
She shrugged, tucking her phone back into her pocket. “Not really. I just thought Eric and Nell might have an update,” she explained easily.
“Uh-huh.” Sam gave her a brief knowing look before he turned his attention back to the road ahead. “It’s been a while since we were paired together,” he added, changing the subject. Just like the good old days.”
“Oh yeah, it was great being crammed into a nonexistent backseat.” Kensi rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to check her phone yet again. After what happened this morning, with that woman taking pictures of them, she was worried. “I wonder why Hetty decided to split us up today of all days.”
“Well, maybe I’m wrong but I assume it has something to do with you and Deeks being together,” he suggested casually as he pulled up to their destination, taking the key out of the ignition.
“What?” Kensi said, forcing a laugh. “Come on. Me and Deeks?” She felt an unreasonable amount of dread run through her as the corner of Sam’s mouth tugged up with a smirk.
“Yes, you and Deeks,” he repeated, holding up a hand as Kensi started to protest again. “What, you really thought your teammates, who are trained agents and have worked with you for years wouldn’t realize you guys are together?”
That was fair. Kensi sighed, rubbing her forehead.
“What gave us away?” she asked. They’d tried to be so careful to leave work separately at least some of the time and never leave together.
“Well, maybe it was something about the way you two kissed at the ice ring last Christmas, all the times you’ve answered each other’s phones, the way you guys made a huge deal about not being together anytime someone brought it up—”
“Ok, ok. I get your point.” Kensi held up her hand to interrupt, pressing her other one over her mouth. God, she felt so stupid. Of course everyone had realized.
“Hey.” Sam nudged her shoulder until she looked at him. “You wanna know the biggest thing that we noticed?” He paused a beat and the smile returned, more gently this time before answering. “The way you two stopped dancing around each other all the time. There’s less tension. Well, most of the time.” He rolled his eyes pointedly. “You’re not fighting against what you want anymore. You seem happy.”
“We are,” Kensi agreed softly. It was amazing how Sam had summed up the changes in her and Deeks’ relationship. “So, what do you think about it? Us being together.” That had been one of her biggest worries through all of this; aside from potentially getting split up, she’d feared the team’s criticism and disapproval.
“I wasn’t the biggest fan in the beginning,” he started and Kensi’s heart sank. “But now I’ve gotten used to the idea, and realized it hasn’t changed who you are to the team. So, as long as being in a relationship doesn’t affect your ability to function as agent and detective, I’m happy for you.”
“Wow. Sam, I never thought I’d hear the day you’d be endorsing our relationship.”
“Neither did I,” Sam said dryly. “I mean it though; I want you and Deeks to be happy.”
“I appreciate that. We both appreciate it,” Kensi told him and he nodded.
“You’re welcome.” He reached to open his door, and then turned back to add, “Eric would like you to know that the burn room has cameras.”

So, I just now got the stupid Twitterification update to my desktop Tumblr and I'm essentially back on the dead bird hellsite. I've tried sending @support tickets about various issues and bugs in the past year or so and they never ever, ever got back to me whether it was about a bug in the app, if it was about how the "following" and "for you" pages are now identical in terms of content, about wanting to be able to use Javascript in my blog theme again (a request I sent twice, more than six months apart) so I can make changes and actually save them... you name it.
Instead of waiting for responses I'm clearly not going to get, I'm just gonna make a public post like everyone else about how awful this update is, and how unintuitive it is. People left Twitter for a reason. I've been here the whole damn time and only seen shit get worse. What are you doing? People have been extremely vocal about the fact that this change is bad and more importantly why it is.
@staff keep complaining about how they're bleeding money and are in huge amounts of debt, but instead of making the site profitable by listening to their userbase, they're doing the exact opposite and not explaining jack shite. There are piles and piles of issues dating several years back that keep going ignored, and the people running this site are more and more turning into the dude running Twitter (sorry, X?) by making the site worse.
What's it gonna take for them to listen? People organised the so-called "Crab Day" where people bought stuff from the shop to help and show support and yet we keep getting this shit. As thanks? Seems like it. "Thanks for using our site and actually paying for it, we hate you! Here's another useless update no one wants!"
Sure. Thanks.

Do you think Team Sonic Racing would've had a chance if it didn't have to compete with Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled?
I mean you're talking to the guy who put the two games head to head and came out thinking Team Sonic Racing was the better game.
youtube
But if we're being honest? Neither game is especially good. Even ignoring the stupid Fortnite skin shop, Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled is ruined by having an astronomical skill ceiling. Playing that game online is resigning yourself to 5th place at best because first through fourth place are lapping everyone else. It is so comically unfair that you can't even be mad about it. You just roll over and accept that the game you are presented is not the game they expect you to be playing. It's great that it got tons and tons of DLC, but a bit pointless when it's a game I cannot play.
My understanding is that Team Sonic Racing went through a lot of last second retooling. The game got delayed a long time, remember. It would seem that Sega was going to have loot boxes for kart parts but ended up having to neuter that given what happened to Star Wars Battlefront 2. TSR still has the loot boxes, but they dump massive amounts of free currency on you.
youtube
But I get the impression that having to do that, or something related to it, really cut the game off at the legs. I imagine Sega might have planned for TSR to be a "live service" game, but with no economy to drive sales over the long-term, they basically sent the game to die. It only ever got patched once (on PS4 anyway), and that patch didn't even fix any of the outstanding visual bugs.
None of that is Crash's fault. TSR was always going to be underwhelming. Sure, it would have done better if Crash wasn't there, but that's mainly because Crash was the only other kart racer coming out in that release window. TSR would have been unchallenged. Would it have saved the game? Probably not, no.
To my view, Sega has always found a way to short-change Sumo's Sonic racers. They all had tons and tons of potential, but something always got in the way of realizing that full potential.
For the first game (Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing), it didn't have proper online multiplayer. Only a handful of tracks were only playable online, and trying to play online with DLC was a nightmare (you could only play with other people that owned the DLC, as I recall). Also, the PC port was trash; it didn't have online multiplayer at all, and it has shader caching issues that were never, ever addressed.
The second game, Racing Transformed, was much better, but still suffered: only the PC version ever received any notable DLC, and it was mostly in adding new racers to the game, not tracks (suggesting Sega didn't want to pay Sumo to create new tracks). The 360, PS3 and Wii U never got any updates past launch.
And then there's Team Sonic Racing. From what I remember hearing, it was spearheaded by Sumo's mobile game division and at least spent three years in development... for a game that has less features, less content and less diversity than either of the two games to come before it. On top of being more buggy and less fun.
Sega had something truly special on their hands. Those first two games are often cited in lists of the best kart racers of all time. And yet... there are big, clear, obvious problems that plague each game. They could have actually beaten Mario Kart at its own game, but they held back their full potential.
And again, Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled wasn't responsible for any of this.

If you’ve read my About Me, you’d know that I’ve been an avid player and fan of the Sims for quite some time now (this isn’t even my first simblr!) and it pains me to me admit that...I’m just not that interested anymore. I’ve kinda known this for awhile now but I thought that if I dedicated a lot of my time and energy towards having the best playing experience that I could--on all of the games in the series besides The Sims 1--and being more active in the Sims community that the spark would come back but the Sims community is kinda toxic...
I’ve never experienced drama over the Sims, personally, but I’ve definietly witnessed it (I think we all have at this point) and it’s ugly, very ugly. I don’t understand how a game where you’re basically playing virtual dollhouse could amount to SO much drama but here we are!! I never thought I’d be made to feel even more less-than in my finanical situation than I have just because I couldn’t afford some stupid CC trapped behind a paywall--sure, I got a lot of the things that I wanted through other ways *wink wink* but there’s still a lot of CC, that’s usually stolen from other games *cough* second life *cough* that’s being placed behind paywalls!!! And recently I find out that not only are these talentless hacks placing CC behind paywalls, they’re doxxing their suscribers too??? Disgusting behaviour.
Honorable Nuisances: The upkeep can be a lot -_-)...
Sims 4 -- Lots of mods get broken per update so you have to find which ones are broken unless it’s a common one that updates effect i.e. MC Command Center. It’s especially annoying if you have a lot of mods to sift through. A lot of mods are locked behind paywalls.
Sims 3 -- Oh, dear...where do I start? The upkeep for this game is nothing compared to any other and I’m confident in saying that. EA left a mess and it’s yours to clean up! If you have a fairly new system and a modern graphics card, you have to make sure the game recognizes it which is a whole process, not a hard one put a process nonetheless and a lot of the worlds are riddled with routing errors and bugs that can only be fixed through mods or else you’re game will be a laggy mess, speaking of laggy, this game will stay laggy no matter how much you optimize (for) it. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Super and 16GB of RAM and yet the game still lags for me, not a lot but still I thought it’d be gone!
Sims 2 -- This game is a landmine, tread lightly or you’ll get corruption! Other than that, not too much upkeep besides getting the game to recognize your modern graphics card, renaming files for quicker load times and downloading some mods to fix some of the glitches or oddities but that’s mostly it. The loading time is bad and yes, I have used the “Bulk Rename Utility” and “The Compressorizer!”, still bad.
But yeah, that’s all I had to share and I’ll probably see you in the future when I get a fucking SSD or something 💚

Oh my god I didn't think the discord update would be this bad, what the fuck. Rant under the cut bc I need to talk about this or I'll explode
Yeah so this sucks in almost every way you can imagine. I turned off auto updating specifically so I could try to avoid it, and Discord just forcefully pushed it out to everyone anyway. Not unexpected of them but its still really stupid and it's just another fuck you to the apps users who've already been getting fucked over by discords updates for months now.
The dms section is its own entire section now that you have to click on to answer any dms, which sucks so bad and makes it feel way more tedious. Also you can't swipe anymore to see who's online in dms, group chats, or servers!!! That's so fun!!! Now you have to press a tiny barely visible arrow next to the channels name. This is also the only place you can see a channels pins now, which is just another choice that makes it harder and require more taps to do things that took 1 before. This isn't even getting into all the new bugs this update added without resolving any of the old ones that we've had FOR MONTHS. I still can't play a video half the time without it breaking and refusing to play and it's been happening since March of this year, probably earlier!
Everything about this update just feels so clunky and hard to use. I wish I could say that I could just find another app and move to it, but I can't. I've used Discord for years now and made so many friends through it, and it's my primary way of talking to them. It's how I voice chat with people mainly too. This isn't even mentioning the years worth of conversations or the server I've put so much love into making a great community for my friends. That's why it fucking stings so hard every time discord pushes out another update that only ruins the app further, despite so many people trying to give feedback on why these updates don't work. There's probably so much more wrong with this update that I'm forgetting to mention or haven't seen yet, but thats the gist of my issues. It feels like they tried to streamline the design of the app and make it simpler, and ended up fucking it up even more than they already have. But nobody's surprised about that I'm sure.
I've had so many negative feelings building up about these updates for over a year now and it's finally all coming out after seeing this. I can only hope they'll revert their stance on letting us use the old layout since they said they aren't gonna allow people to do it, but I have a very small amount of hope for that happening.

Surviving the aftermath xbox review update#
Surviving the aftermath xbox review free#
Despite this, I felt little need to use it. It also has a built-in feature for reporting bugs and giving feedback with a handy star system for its relevancy and importance.
Surviving the aftermath xbox review update#
One needs only to look at the update list to see the amount of content that has been added since the game arrived in Xbox Game Preview over the last few months. Needless to say, the future of Surviving the Aftermath is bright. Settlers start to make their way to this glistening beacon in the middle of a wasteland – a place with a pink flag and rodent mascot. As you take in more settlers and focus on trade routes, the world becomes less lonely in a rather lovely way. It’s dark and brutal, but merely your existence in the world shows some semblance of a will to survive. The wider world becomes clearer, something quite special given the oddly hopeful nature of the game. Once you discover the world map, the social aspect of Surviving the Aftermath comes to the fore. It enforces the Dunning-Kruger effect – overestimating your own ability – in spectacular ways to make you feel more than a little stupid. You regularly start to feel a little anxious of all the success you are having, just before a catastrophe comes in and teaches you why. This is where Surviving the Aftermath seemingly works at its best. Luckily, in their explorations, the special units had acquired tech, managing to prep my town for the next major catastrophe. This harsh fallout blew in and irradiated multiple settlers, and now there is a nice body pit next to my well and toilets. After sorting your resources and building enough beds for everyone, you should start working towards building a gate. This ensures you are consistently working towards your next upgrade. You can use wood to make a building to collect plastic, or utilise plastic and wood to build one for collecting metal, etc. These include things such as wood, plastic, metal, and food. You can set an area to be harvested and, if you pick the right people and buildings, you will collect that material. It takes after Warcraft in its resource gathering. The base gameplay loop feels like a mix between old school Warcraft and Civilization.
Surviving the aftermath xbox review free#
After naming your town and setting your flag type, you are set free into the world. Some are more pragmatic, focusing on resources, whilst others are more idealistic by focusing on improvements. These don’t outwardly affect difficulty, opting instead to change the way you play. Furthermore, you can customise your motto, ideology, and gatekeeper to change the way your gate acts or the choices your settlers make. This will affect the level of difficulty Surviving the Aftermath throws at you, letting you play it in as a relaxing or hardcore way as you want, something Surviving Mars did brutally well. It starts with awarding you a great deal of choice in your playthrough. You can toggle the tutorials, change the function of the environment, catastrophes, resources, and more. Whilst this elevator pitch is apt, it doesn’t express what makes it so addictive. Surviving the Aftermath is “all about your village in the middle of the apocalypse”.

Enter the gungeon console command remove dps limit

I definitely favored passive shield recovery items (the helmet line) and stagger weapons. Turns out the Saboteur capstone is really good. Because of the heavy scaling this doesn't change the end result much, but it made the end of world 1 and start of 2 easier. I had help because I had encounters that opened up mini areas twice, giving me more xp at the start especially. I tried to route as much xp whichever all the Lt's, preferably the permanent shield boost, and fighting the purple enemy on the third day. If I couldn't kill anything in two turns, I considered saving the stun for when I was about to take hp damage.Īgainst a bad AoE, everyone defending usually made it hit into shields with some chip damage.Īgainst a single target attack Taunt + Defend (or quick attack, but always act before getting hit, don't get crit) + restore shields. The basic plan was either turn 1 stagger, second round stun with Saboteur if I thought I could clear at least 1 front line enemy. Right now it is packed into a 6/10 runbased package. Part of that was 'no reload' stakes, part was unfamiliarity with enemy mechanics. This does feel like an 8/10 single good run game, winning it felt tense even though I was never in much danger in hindsight. It happened on single target bursts multiple times. I am so not sure if this is a hidden mechanic or a bug, but I'm pretty sure that if you have truely stupid amount of stagger enemies can get staggered into missing 2 turns in a row. I used this to absurdity in the final fight, denying 4/5th attacks of the main threat until I could focus fire. Its high level abilities are a hard counter to when the game starts using formation and Guarding.Īnd if you can Break with a single move then do no additional hits on that target, they only use a single charge. The Saboteur with additional stagger gear just seems dominate. I finished the game with the original 3 characters + Marksmen + Enforcer (the latter chosen out of a 2x2 dps pool., I wanted extra defensive power) With the length of a run (4-5h) unlocking 1-3 things afterwards that you aren't even sure are upgrades is not motivation enough to do it again. In certain situations you can alpha strike in the first turn if you can take only shield damage, then either win or go to staggertown. My main thought is that the solution to almost fight is the same: stagger until you can no longer do so, then defend and recover. I finished this game once after 5 tries (3 of which were world 1), enjoyed it but am not motivated to do it again for further unlocks. (REALLY FRUSTRATING) You unlock additional starting characters as you defeat mini-bosses and gather intel.Īll in all i think the game needs a couple updates BUT the pixel art is GORGEOUS and the combat is pretty fun once you get the hang of it. Unlocked gear needs to be activated and you can only activate one at a time so im failing to understand the point of having multiple unlocks. The rogue lite elements are pretty BS though. Game is definitely tough the first few runs until you figure out combat flow. Standing in your way is an intelligent Adversary system with enemy officers that evolve and move up in the ranks. Gorgeous Pixel art, tough as nails difficulty and tactical combat with a Granida-Esque delay combat system.Ī service robot named J5T-1N has arrived in your dimension to warn of impending doom from an overwhelming force known as the Imperium.įight for survival across a procedurally generated and emergent mission-based campaign through reactive, tactical turn-based battle system that emphasizes interrupts and counters. A brand new Rogue-Lite with elements from Grandia and the Nemesis System of LotR.

The Downside Danger Of Minecraft Servers That No One Is Speaking About
The journeymap also works like a radar - it lets you understand about the enemies approaching you. Mojang Blocky world-constructing game Minecraft lets gamers discover, gather resources, craft tools and engage in some mild combat. Mojang has free of charge server software you can download to manage your server. The right way to Host and Configure a Minecraft Server with No-IP. Subsequent it's good to configure a manner to maintain No-IP up to date with your changing IP address. It's repetitive at instances, but the joy of accumulating characters is numerous fun, and you'll keep switching your heroes all through. First, you can obtain our free Dynamic Replace Shopper. Some devices that embrace No-IP for Dynamic DNS are Routers or Digicam methods. We’ll explain what those mods are. The following is to download the mods themselves. For years, gamers have been creating and updating mods to boost the sport, and it comes as no shock that there are mods which might be most popular over others.
From there players will then need to start out downloading mods. This will extract some information we'd like earlier than we are able to begin the server. Step 4: After that, you need to see an IP that does not begin with 192.168 or 127.0.0.0. Proper click the IP and ensure you select "Copy IPv4 Address," not IPv6. Search for the line labeled as IPv4 Address, and duplicate the IP deal with there. Google. Take the quantity it gives you, copy it, and paste it into the tackle bar. My router is a Linksys, you will need to google round to find the steps together with your particular router. To do that, google Whats my IP? The web site will then provide you with a step-by-step instruction guide on how one can properly port ahead your router. 1. Go to their official webpage and sign up. You'll be able to obtain the Java Edition server on the Minecraft webpage. A powerful amount of blocks hovers in midair, and you need to make use of them to get from level A to level B. If you’re wondering “What’s the most effective Minecraft server with skyblocks?
Every sort of furniture can have a different use. When the command prompt opens up, kind ipconfig. With a purpose to get your pc's IP, hold down the home windows key and press R. Within the box that pops up, sort cmd. Like different web sites, it also is straightforward to arrange, and you may create a free server by following the under steps one by one after which launching the game. LOVE So as to permit people not on the identical IP to connect, you will must port forward your server. There are already legions of builders writing Android apps for mobile gadgets, so it would not be a big stretch for them to either port current apps or write new ones. Found during a bug bounty engagement against Minecraft servers, the vulnerability is much more impactful than some may expect, primarily because of Log4j’s near-ubiquitous presence in nearly all major Java-based mostly enterprise apps and servers. Screenshot/YouTube In the event you grew up in the '90s, you might remember this game. The Twilight Forest is mainly a separate journey game designed inside Minecraft.
Getting started with Nodecraft for Minecraft server hosting is simple. Get your own Java server to put in modifications with a single click on and invite mates to play with you! Have your pals join as nicely. Step 3: Once you have downloaded and put in Hamachi and the Minecraft server platform, go ahead and run Hamachi, and log in. Nintendo may have quashed rumors that its subsequent-technology "NX" console will run Android, but that is not enough to cease the speculators. You may think that this is just another one of those stupid guides that doesn't inform you the way to make a private Minecraft server -- it simply tells you the way to host a world server. Epic's lawsuit towards Apple is ready to begin Monday, May 3, at 8:30 a.m. There's Khemi and Khopshef for levels 20-35 or so, after which Kheshatta from 70-80. Is the journey pack set there, or are there any plans so as to add some more Stygian content material between, say, 40 and 70? The mod has developed ever since and now you may add armor stands, potion shelves, cookie jars, clocks, lanterns, display instances, nifty multipart chairs, and even tables and tablecloths. The server now works domestically! You may download Minecraft Server for free on your Windows Computer.
