He talks about how the 2,615 Wither skeletons killed feels low, but does the math and thinks it’s fine. He moves on, and continues brewing Invis potions. He makes black and red fireworks for several minutes.
00845 Dream scares Phil by logging in right behind Techno, and they join a voice channel together. Dream gives Techno several stacks of TNT, and Dream finally tells Techno his ‘special plan.’
Dream says that they have to go early, and destroy it 30 minutes early. Dream tells them of a spy, and how L’Manburg is going to show up exactly at 3:00, instead of getting there early.
Techno asks Dream what he needs from him, and Dream essentially says that Phil shouldn’t listen to the conversation, and tries to make Techno leave Phils call. Techno declines, and they continue their conversation in the house.
01100 Dream explains that he can’t set up redstone, because it’s too easy to destroy, and that he’s going to have to set up the machines while the battle is happening. He tells Techno to stall the battle for twenty minutes, and Techno argues, saying that the risk is too one-sided for him and that it would be too easy for Dream to betray him by not setting up the machines.
Techno agrees after Dream brings up the dog army and the withers, and Techno says that he was only complaining to see how unreasonable Dream actually was.
Techno asks Phil for more potions, including speed, strength, and regeneration, and he keeps talking about the Turtle Master potions, and quickly runs to the Vault to get the skulls.
Dream mentions Ender Pearls, and Techno agrees that they would be useful. On the way to trade with Orphan, Techno goes down to Tommy’s former room, calls it the Traitor Pit, and breaks the prime log. He starts to leave, but changes his mind, and blows up the Traitor Pit.
He leaves the past behind him, and goes back up to trade with Orphan. He gets more pearls, and then continues brewing potions. Phil gives Techno his trident again, and wonders aloud if he should bring Phil.
On one hand, Phil only has one life, but Phil also has a grudge against L’Manburg, and Phil insists he come along.
Techno gives Phil the only remaining Totem of Undying, and several Wither skulls. Techno tells Phil to not be in the main battle at first, and to hide, be careful, and to only spawn Withers when Techno sends the signal, shooting the fireworks into the sky.
They go over their inventories and Ender chests, Techno gets more weakness arrows, and Dream and Techno use the sellout bell one last time.
While outside, Techno mentions that Phil tore down Tommy’s cobblestone tower, and Dream almost blows up Tommys’ former house, but Techno stops him, saying that it might be Ghostburs.
Dream also gives Techno and Phil obsidian for building, and Techno gives Dream his TNT back, saying it wouldn’t be useful. He also gives Phil a God Apple, and tells him to (02245) not risk his life for him. Dream counters that, mentioning that Phil could risk his life for him, and Techno refuses to let Dream continue.
Techno also brews a Slow Falling potion, one of the rarest potions on the server. Dream talks about his status as a homeless person, and Dream does not accept it, and tells Techno that his main goal is to make everyone homeless, because blowing up L’Manburg would make everyone there live without a house. Techno calls himself ‘Anti-House.’
After crafting an unenchanted Netherite axe, they leave. Dream follows him to the Dog Sanctuary.
02939, right before leaving the Nether, Techno chants: 2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate?? Not the government! GOO!!!! And splashes Invis potions on himself, Dream, and Phil.
They enter the Overworld to find Sapnap close to the portal. Techno tells him that He’s actually TommyInnit, and runs to the portal before Sapnap can process that. Dream and Phil follow, and they make it to the Dog Sanctuary.
03200 Dream is surprised at the amount of dogs in the cave, and Techno starts talking about the plan. He says that because L’Manburg has a law against killing pets, they won’t be able to do anything to stop the army from killing them. Dream calls him evil after he reveals that he’s going to splash the dogs with both strength and invis, and they move out with a pack of dogs following.
Dream shows them an obsidian network above L’Manburg, and says that he’s going to make TNT Dispensers on it. Dream leaves, and they get into position.
03700. Techno joins the L’Manburg VC, and starts yelling at them, calling them idiots and asking where they are. They tell him that theres still 24 minutes until the war starts, and Techno starts encouraging them to come back, but then remembers that he’d have to hold them off while Dream sets up, so he tells them to take their time and wait until the scheduled time.
Tommy sees the obsidian network, and shoots Phil. Techno and Tommy start arguing. Techno calls himself a liar, but justifies it by mentioning the 1v30 he’d have to do.
Tommy takes his first death, falling from a pillar trying to reach Dream.
Tubbo shoots Techno, and the dogs start chasing him. Techno splashes the potions on them, and watches as the war starts. He calls the wolves ‘The Dogs of War,’ and quickly kills both Quackity, Ponk, and Tubbo.
Tubbo drops a Trident, and Techno wonders if it’s his. He keeps fighting, and quickly remembers that Sapnap is known for his animal killing.
He continues killing, but decides on a compromise. If they back off, he won’t kill them as he blows up the country. They disagree, and Techno eats a God apple before shooting the fireworks into the sky.
04430 Philza deploys the Withers. The Citizens yell about the Bees, and Techno continues his destruction. He stores the new trident in his Ender Chest and organizes his inventory, adding some Wither skulls and soulsand for later.
Five Withers storm L’Manburg as the country fights back, and Techno tries to find Invis potions. He raids houses and makes more Withers, and L’Manburg is left to fight nine Withers as Techno restarts his Laptop.
Running back into the action, Techno realizes he’s been using normal arrows this entire time, and puts the fireworks in his offhand. He meets Phil in his house, and Phil gives Techno another Invis pot. He finds a book, called ‘Do Not Read,’ in his Inventory, and Ranboo asks for it back. Techno gives the book to Ranboo, and tells him to flee, that he doesn’t have anything against him, and to survive the war in safety. Ranboo runs.
Sapnap yells that another Wither is down, and Techno jumps back into battle. He kills Tubbo again, and Dream messages ‘destroy l’mantree’ to him. Techno asks which tree that is, and starts moving to where he thinks it is.
In the background, Tommy starts to plan. He says that, (05040) ‘we’ve got to kill the Withers first, and then we can fight The Blade.’
Phil scoffs at that, and Techno keeps going. He finds an ender chest and repairs his armor with XP bottles.
Techno continues killing, and Dream finally tells him where the tree is. Before he can make it there, Dream sets off the TNT canons, and destruction rains from the sky as L’Manburg cries out in confusion.
05335 He finds Tubbo in the middle of the country, and yells, “LOOK AT YOUR COUNTRY FALL, TUBBO!” Tubbo falls along with it, and doesn’t respond as Techno shoots him, once again, with a firework rocket.
05355 Tommy climbs onto a bridge and begs Techno to not shoot.
“You didn’t have to do this! The thing about the discs, Technoblade, is that they were for me! We could’ve had a government, and- ”
“I don’t care about the discs, Tommy! I was upfront with you from the start, the government has to go!”
“Technoblade, you are selfish!”
“Selfish?! You’ve used me from the start, Tommy! You’re wearing my helmet as we speak!”
“Technoblade, you said we betrayed you! You said we were the ones that betrayed you!”
“You betrayed me like, twelve times!”
“Technoblade, look at me. Look at me, right now. You said you hated governments, you said we were the ones that betrayed you. You were the one who killed Tubbo when JSchlatt told you to! You were the one who betrayed us, out of all-”
“I was peer pressur- You betrayed me, like, yesterday! You used me as a weapon! You’ve never thought of me as a friend, Tommy, you’ve just used me from the start. You saw me just as The Blade, that’s all I was to you, The Blade, a weapon, well guess what?” Techno pauses, and his voice is tense as he continues. “I’m choosing what I fight for now, and I’m going to destroy the government, Tommy! You all die!”
He fires the fireworks towards Tommy, killing him and Tubbo with the same shot.
He watches as the TNT falls from the sky, and finally, Tommy asks to speak once more.
“You were our friend, and you know what?-”
“Tommy, you never thought of me as a friend, Tommy,”
“Listen to me!”
“I listened to you for weeks, what did you do? You went back to Tubbo, the guy that exiled you, that chose his country over you,”
“People are above the government!”
“I’M A PERSON!”
“You ARE, Techno, and so are we! The reason the discs- they were stolen from me! Nothing-”
“Discs aren’t people!”
“Nothing was taken from you! You’re selfish! You destroyed the people for your own self gain! You’re selfish!”
“All of these problems are because of your government,” Techno starts, “Your government has caused all these issues. I believe in freedom, Tommy!”
“You- You don’t believe in freedom! When you were peer pressured, that wasn’t freedom, that’s you following what the government told you!”
“Bro, Tommy, that was like four months ago, ok?”
“IT WAS! LET’S NOT FORGET ABOUT THE PAST RIGHT NOW- Tubbo! Tubbo he killed you!”
“He’s the president, get him OUT of here!” Techno shoots at Tubbo, who hides behind some stone, “He’s wearing YOUR helmet!”
“And you killed him!”
“Yeah, because he’s the president!
“But even when he wasn’t the president, you killed him as well.”
“Yeah, that’s true.”
“You’re as bad as the government, Technoblade.”
“Hey, remember when I was sitting there, alone, against the whole government, and you and Wilbur just sat there on the sidelines, and watched? Did you step in? Did you step in? Were you guys the ones who stepped in and said, don’t worry, Technoblade, we know you’re in a high pressure situation, but we’ll fight the world for you, Technoblade? NO! You guys watched- You know what I did, yesterday? When you were surrounded by thirty people, the whole world was against you? I walked in. I was willing to fight all of them for you, Tommy. I would’ve been there.
That is the difference between us.”
“We spent HOURS together-”
“DON’T speak to me of loyalty!”
“You were my friend, and you betrayed us!”
“You never thought of me as a friend!”
“The- The thing about this government, is that it didn’t interfere with you!”
“It did!”
“No, it didn’t! The discs were stolen by Dream-”
“I don’t care about discs! I care about freedom! The government! We can’t have freedom with the government!”
“You have your own freedom, just let people love what they love, man!” (lmao homophobic techno confirmed? /J :LKJFDSLKFJ)
“Tommy...I used to think like that, Tommy. You know what they did to me? They hunted me down! The whole Butcher Army, and they executed me! I tried being peaceful, Tommy, but the government made it clear that we could not coexist.”
“And so you spawn Withers??? All you do is repeat history, but worse.”
“YOU GUYS brought this upon YOURSELVES, I was willing to live in my cottage and be chill, and just farm turtles, but you guys made it clear-”
“Technoblade, you can’t just go back to your cottage after you blow up the government! That’s not how this works, actions have consequences!”
Techno shoots at Tommy and Tubbo, killing Tubbo. “Actions do have consequences, Tommy, and THESE are the consequences!” He splashes potions at his feet, and chases after Quackity. He kills him quickly, and Quackity yells about how he has to face the consequence of his former actions. Techno told him that he had changed, and the Butcher Army refused to let him live his life, but Quackity says that he had to face his punishment.
Tommy calls Techno a tyrant, and is almost immediately killed as Techno launches himself into the air and uses the slowfalling potions to aim, and fire.
10130 Someone (I can’t tell who, help) asks why Phil is there, and why he hates the government, and he responds, “Since I was forced to kill my own son, you idiot!”
Tommy asks Techno where the L’mantree is, and Techno reveals that he doesn’t actually know what that is, but that Dream wanted to blow it up earlier. Several people start screaming, mourning the loss of their tree, as Techno celebrates.
Techno runs out of fireworks, and decides that their destruction is over. He notices that no one is fighting back, and asks if everyones just given up.
“What is there left to protect?”
Techno laughs, and Niki speaks for the first time. “I burnt the tree.”
Techno compliments her, and looks over the destruction.
10350 “WELCOME,” he says, “TO THE YOUNGEST ANARCHY SERVER IN MINECRAFT!”
Jack Manifold challenges him, and they fight. Techno runs out of potions, but still manages to win. Manifold takes too long to pick up his items, so Techno spawns another Wither. At this point, there’s four Withers roaming the former country.
Techno decides to kill the Withers to get Nether Stars, and while looking for a place to shoot, he finds Eret watching the chaos. He asks if he supports government, but answers the question for them. “There’s no need to risk your neck for a country you’re not even a part of.”
Eret then says that they’re just there for the Nether Stars, and Techno laughs. Techno kills a Wither, and Phil takes the star.
Techno starts talking about how he wanted L’Manburg to be a chunk error, and decides to get rid of the water so the TNT can work. He mentions that he has the Trident back, and that he’s probably not going to ever get the Axe of Peace from Tommy.
Dream continues blowing the country up, and Techno gives Phil his trident back. Techno tells Dream to nuke the entire area, but finds out that Ghostbur is close, and frantically makes him stop. He then remembers that Ghostbur is a literal ghost and can not die.
Hbomb tries to tell Techno to blow up Manifold Land, but Techno refuses, saying that it isn’t really a country, and is instead just one person.
Ghostbur arrives, and starts looking around the crater. Techno leaves to find a bell to be a sellout. He tells us that if he gets 5 million subscribers today, he’ll set up the second monitor.
They talk about timezones and relax after the chaos. Techno attempts a triple kill but fails, and Manifold declares war on him. Techno threatens his house, so Manifold decides to not do that.
Sapnap punches him, and Techno starts to spawn a Wither, but Sapnaps’ efficiency V Netherite shovel is enough to make Techno run in fear.
12320 Tommy gets struck by lightning. SO LONG, THESEUS! EVEN GOD HATES HIM! -techno
Sap tries to kill Techno with a Channeling trident, but Techno takes no damage and almost spawns another Wither, but decides to fly away instead. Sapnap goes mad with power, and tries to kill Ponk with tridents and wither roses. Techno sings the Manhunt music as Ponk runs from Sapnap and BadBoyHalo.
After exploring the wreckage and joking with the survivors, Phil and Techno go to their own VC and go back home. Philza is jumped by a baby zombie, but Techno manages to kill it and save him.
13515He ties the stream together by chanting ‘2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate? Philza minecraft!! yeah!!!!’
They go inside to reorganize their chests, and Techno realizes that he still has two stacks of Wither skulls. Techno and Phil agree that the Withers they used were enough, and they talk about how the battle went.
Phil gives Techno the Totem and the God Apple back.
Techno also implies that if Phil dies, the destruction would be far, far worse, and his life is worth more than anything that had happened beforehand. They are best friends ur honor.
While ranting about the government, Technoblade reveals that he still has the anvil used to execute him in his ender chest. Techno covers Tommys old home, and tears down the signs they used as a checklist.
Looking at Em, Techno remembers the dogs he didn’t use to fight, and Phil brings up a Stasis Pearl Chamber as a way to teleport all the dogs back at the same time. They quickly build it, and Techno starts running to the remains of L’Manburg.
He makes it to the dog cave without any trouble, and makes all the dogs stand. Philza teleports him back, and the dogs take some fall damage as they land with him. He puts the dogs into the house next to his, and Phil says that he’s going to build a kennel later.
Phil reveals that Ghostbur was not happy with the whole ‘blowing up L’Manburg’ thing, and that Friend had died, and now, Ghostbur wants to be brought back to life. Phil is hesitant, and he doesn’t know if his memories will stay, if he could handle it, and other variables.
20320 Techno finally shows Carl again, but doesn’t show where he’s hidden. He uses the intermission screen to hide his location from even the viewers, but Carl is fine. He puts him back in the display stable, but then moves him back, fearing his life.
20630, Techno jokes about the Turtle Shell Helmets and it’s adorable. please go watch it. he then talks about the Sad-Ist animation for a few seconds, and talks about the fanartists in the community. He mentions making a playlist of animations and animatics, which would be really cool.
He ends the stream ringing the sellout bell.

The best angst has a formula, and this is my recipe:
Build up the reader's connection to a character and the focus relationship(s) (in fanfiction, the attachments are already there for you to use)
At the climax, rip everything away in a shocking moment,
Let the emotional wound scar over with some bittersweet plot, this is the falling action
Reopen that wound (this can be optional)
Close with a bittersweet ending so that the reader never gets those feelings resolved in a happy ending.
I've demonstrated this with this fic, where I depict my spin on Doomsday
This is already done for me, so I just give some background on the story being told
I have Tubbo jump in front of the fireworks, which results in Techno accidentally killing him
Techno returns to the crater and finds Tommy standing at the edge, grieving his best friend. The tension here lies in the dialogue
Tommy goes out singing the L'Manberg song, never finishing the last chorus line, leaving the symphony unfinished.
I end with Tubbo and Tommy heading off into the afterlife together after some quick dialogue
The emphasis is placed in different pieces, with the 2nd angst strike being more effective than the 1st.

pillars of obsidian and violet flames
Illumina feels himself being torn apart as the dragon was slain, the fabric of the universe within himself being torn
the one with the dragon fight, and the one where illumina joins the universe
posted on ao3 or read below :D
feel free to check out the series masterpost!
Illumina left the cottage as the early sunlight illuminated the world. He left with a mission, to kill the enderdragon, he knew he could do it, he knew that as the universe's heir he is the only one who stood a chance against the almighty dragon. He had to protect TapL and Fruitberries, by leaving them behind. He couldn't let Fruit nor TapL face the enderdragon, even as good in combat (and also magic in TapL's case), Illumina could not stand idea of them facing (or worse, dying to) the enderdragon. He would protect them, even if it cost him his life.
---
The universe was unwelcoming as he entered the end. He sees the dragon, his mother, after years and years and years. She perched majestically against the end crystal of one of the obsidian towers in this part of the end.
Illumina opened his pairs of wings, lifted himself into the air as his eyes grew violet as he summoned his magic, of deep indigo flames of which his mother retaliated with.
---
He regretted never telling TapL about what he had to do. He didn't regret it, as what if it got TapL killed too? Either way it was too late for him now, there was no way to undo what's done, the part of the universe within him being torn, scattered, shredded apart, battered by both his injuries and the injuries of the grand dragon. Time was ticking, and will soon stop for him.
His biggest regret was probably seeing Fruit as his vision began to blur, knowing, accepting, that his time was almost up.
"I'm sorry," he whispered weakly, as the end's inky void sky grows more inviting, the pain slowly ceasing as he stopped feeling. A tear streaked down his face and staining the pale yellow rock with a dark shadow. "I promise that I'll always be your side, remember that."
"Never forget that, Fruit."
He hands Fruit his dagger, enchanted and now stained with both his and the dragon's drying blood, and his jacket.
His jacket, patched and sewn with Fruit's careful stitch work, his jacket stained and torn from the battle he just had, dusted in light yellow dust and sharp obsidian shards.
He looked at Fruit one last time as he felt the universe's voice ring out in his head as the dragon faded into grand purple fireworks against the nothingness of the void in the background.
He closed his eyes, and welcomed the universe's embrace.
---
"You have journeyed well in your life Illumina."
"The universe loves you because you, you are the universe."
"Welcome home, heir to the universe."
---
Illumina opened his eyes. The sky above him was still the same inky darkness, the same of what he faintly remembers from childhood, the same as the final battle. He looked around in awe, as he gazed upon those of the past, gods and mortals alike. He felt alive again, he didn't feel any pain in his wounds. He had no wounds. Then he sees Technoblade, in his full glory, boar features and scars and all, waiting for him after the years past Techno's death.
And he firmly hugged Techno for the first time in years.

WHAT I LIKED
0:10 - Wilburs distorted body
0:14 - That lighting
0:17 - Tugging up the anvil in preparation
0:24 - One side of the axe reflecting Tubbo's unburnt skin and then to his burnt side. Innocent to experience. The scarred skin that was burnt by Techno. The whole intros subtle tones with the music.
0:45 - The crow being both a metaphor for Philza as well as Phil's messages to Techno. Also, like, Philza's chat talking to Techno's.
0:49 - Ghostbur's blue/ blood highlighted on the snow (I love how little we see of Ghostbur, only like 3 scenes with him and their all very quick)
0:54 - Techno's hair + the simplicity of the bird + Techno's whole speech
1:00 - The 3 Presidents of L'manburg and how the lyric lands on "You're like a ghost". How we don't even see Wilbur, because he is a ghost and we can't even see Tubbo's eyes in the portrait.
1:04 - "You're haunting me" landing on all of the Butcher Army and the implications of how Techno is still impacting(haunting) L'manburg without even being present. And ten in return they haunt Techno’s house. + Ranboo not wearing the Butcher Army apron and being hesitant with his axe. Not sure if he wants to be taking down Techno.
1:16 -1:20 - This whole scene/ the smoke(mist?)/ Techno's movement/ grabbing the axe and attacking/ the glowing eyes.
1:20 - The bacon on the wall + Rainbow still not in an apron. Really him disassociating with the rest of the BA.
1:22 - Ranboo staying in the back. The broken glass. Still amazed with how far Sad-ist has come with the animation. Her Warriors animatic + previous works (Hollow Knights+ Manhunt) are incredible, but it's amazing to see her progress and improvement of skill through the DreamSMP animatic and fluidity of movement and action.
1:22- 1:29 - The lighting, the movement, uuugh, the expressions, SAD-ist you're killing me here. (I love how SAD-ist has also shifted from 1 background colour to multiple colours (usually 2 to 3) to emphasise lighting. The way Tubbo delivers his line.
1:31 - Techno with glasses Quackity getting a speaking role in a SAD-ist animation (Not calling her out. I can't even imagine the struggle of choosing the specific lines and trying to get everyone in. But I'm really happy to see him more prominent in this animation) Phil's broken wing + The shift of the compass with the change in the music (DRAMA). + The skull layered over Phil (Angel of Death) and then shifting to Techno going "I choose blood". Also Philza fucking PISSSED.
1:38 - Ranboo's still in the background of the fight.
1:44 - Tubbo's cry for help. In canon, just imagine the fear of having the same guy that blew you up with a firework twice and took a canon life from you is now trying to take your last canon life. Scary. SAD-ist did a beautiful job with the animation and expressions.
1:52 - Ranboo helping Tubbo in the background.
1:58 - Techno dropping his things. Philza with the creeper head hiding. The indication that Ghostbur was there with the blue handprint. The background scenes of the BA taking Techno back to L'manburg.
2:05 - Techno's struggles to get to Phil.
2:19 - Dream + Punz being a mood. Also the continuous motif of Dream being cat lounging in high places. + The fluidity of Punz's animation.
2:40 - That looked like it really hurt. + Seeing the anvil in Techno's eyes. + Techno's arm getting stuck in the fence after respawning.
2:50 - Carl + Techo's ears flicking when Quackity shows up.
3:00 - Props to Techno's + Quackity's acting and improve. The positioning of the frame. T + Q choreography each other. That flip!
3:06 - The pickaxe line will never not be both epic and incredibly horrific.
3:10 - Th lone house in a field of snow. The blood. The shifting of the camera.
3:21 - That shrug
3:32 - Tommy. Tommy still with braces.
3:35 - That fucking transition to the blood-stained hands and tusks.
3:37 - The little tusks and crown in the circle logo.
All 4 of the SBI have a braid.
Tommy and Tubbo have small chains. Around Tommy's neck and in Tubbo's pocket are their compasses for each other.
That fact that SAD-ist collabed with 2WEI and Marvin Brooks. AND 2WEI’s channel, they titled the remix Marvin Brooks - Ghost (2WEI Remix) (O.S.T. of SAD-ist's "Hog Hunt"

And He was Nothing (A Jack Manifold Story)
tw for blood, death, self-deprication
Jack was nothing.
He’d never been anything. He was the kind of guy you met once, then forgot, a friend of a friend.
“Oh, you know Jack Manifold?”
“Yeah, the skinny kid with the broken glasses and the bald head?”
“That’s the one!”
He was nothing, and no one, and because of that, he’d always expected to die, in the way that background characters always die. It wasn’t going to be a martyr’s death, but maybe he’d even get a line in first.
He never expected it to hurt.
Of course it hurt. He’d heard the stories before, he thought he knew what to expect.
He’d heard from Tommy, back before he was exiled, the boy squirming at the memory as he talked about the pain, the cold, the fear.
He’d heard from Punz, the man laying on his back, staring at the sky in a strange, melancholy sorrow as he described the feeling of his body turning into nothing.
He’d heard from Skeppy, the trickster’s voice trembling as they sat together and watched the waves crash on the waves as he talked about sacrificing himself for someone he loved more than life itself.
He’d known it would hurt.
He hadn’t expected it to hurt this bad. The firework stuck in his stomach didn’t kill him instantly, burning, popping, destroying his guts bit by bit as he collapsed. He heard others cry out, but he was in too much pain to do anything.
It took nearly five minutes for his mind to give up, for his body to go limp for the last time.
The void was probably scarier than the dying by a million times. He just floated there, in the dark, in the cold, in the nothing, his eyes straining in the pitch black, his hands reaching for something. Anything.
He respawned among a dozen others, all of them sobbing and clutching their guts. He was in pain. He was in so much pain, but he didn’t say anything to Niki when she handed him a bottle of regen and told him to help out one of the others.
He did, helping around Pogtopia, cracking jokes, trying to raise people spirits, but after a while, he went back to Manburg, went home, and cried himself to sleep, trying not to remember the feeling of his body being torn apart.
He never went back to Pogtopia after that, knowing he wouldn’t be able to stand listening to people speak of their own deaths as if it made them special, wouldn’t be able to hear Tubbo talk about his execution as if it made him a hero, when dozens others went out the same way.
Pogtopia was full of heroes, and he was just a guy.
Tubbo and Tommy were both just as dead as he was, both just as fucked as he was, so they were in the same boat, and it was sinking fast. The two of them just had life jackets.
The battle of Manburg happened, not that he cared. He’d built a house on the outskirts of Manburg as he watched the world crumble.
Not a lot of other people stayed neutral, he noticed. George was oblivious to the destruction, the Badlands seemed to switch sides as they saw fit, and Karl had his own plans in mind, but Jack just shook his head and went back to setting up his new home.
He declared himself separate from L’Manburg, and Tubbo had agreed, telling him he was officially his own state, Manifoldland, and had nothing to fear from L’Manburg. He’d believed him.
He should not have believed him, especially when Fundy and Quackity showed up at his door with sadistic grins spreading over their faces.
They offered him a deal, in the end. Rejoin L’Manburg, or lose another life.
It wasn’t much of a choice.
Things were a sickening blur after that. Dream threatened L’Manburg (again), Tommy got exiled (again), and Tubbo caved to the slightest bit of peer pressure (again and again and again.)
Finally, Jack grew tired of being ignored, being treated like he hadn’t been there in the first war, fighting alongside the others, he needed someone who would treat him like a human being, not just a joke. Fundy was a dick, Eret was a traitor, Wilbur was dead, Niki was busy and Tubbo had bigger things to worry about.
Which left one person to talk to.
“Tommy! Hey, how’re y-”
He was cut off by a fist in his gut. The next thing he knew, he was dangling from the narrow walkway by his arms, legs kicking the air violently as he tried to get back up. Tommy did nothing to help, just staring at him as he did everything he could to just stay alive .
Then the boy was screaming at him about loneliness and friendship, and he didn’t know what was going on. If course Tommy was his friend, it wasn’t that he didn't care, he just didn’t realize the younger boy even remembered him anymore.
It wasn’t like Tommy’d ever made much attempt to act like a decent fucking human to Jack.
Jack begged, pleaded, sobbed, but Tommy had just shaken his head, and kicked his old friend into the lava with a fake salute.
That death hurt the worst.
It was also the coldest.
And the loneliest.
Jack had tried to lighten the mood. He stole Tommy’s prized possession then, a scarecrow he called his girlfriend. He thought things would get better, Tommy trying to get back at him, and him getting back at Tommy. A prank war, like back in the good old days.
But Tommy had just shrugged, and turned away to go back to Dream, and Jack felt something in his heart crack.
Tommy committed suicide a few weeks later, according to Tubbo, using up his last life, and Jack felt so goddamn guilty, so goddamn stupid.
And then Tommy was back, with Technoblade, the bastard who’d killed Jack the first time and he had no idea what to think.
Tommy had betrayed Techno, turning from his eldest brother to face Tubbo, and faintly, Jack wondered if the warrior was feeling the same dread, the same heartache he’d felt when Tommy had pushed him that last time.
The next day, Techno and Phil and Dream were back, and Jack was so so tired.
He stood his ground, with everyone else, charging the withers, fighting the best he could, watching as Techno spawned more, and more, and more, nine withers swooping through the air, sending people sprinting. He watched them close in on his house, and he felt a strange urgency well up inside him.
He had nothing. He had nothing but that house. That house was his only escape, the only thing on this server that truly belonged to him. So he ran, and he killed three withers, all on his own, and he looked around, hoping someone, anyone would notice and smile at him, a simple, ‘Good job, Jack, that was good’, or a nod, or any form of acknowledgement.
But he was Jack Manifold, and so he was left with nothing.
No one had even noticed, he realized. He did everything he could to help them, and when he needed it most…
He was alone.
When it was said and done, L’Manburg a smoking crater in the ground, the L’Mantree burnt down, and his home singed and damaged, he just laid down in the grass, and stared at the sky.
Suddenly, laughter echoed through the crater, and he crept to the edge. Those three bastards stood at the bottom, revelling in the destruction.
Dream, the man he and his friends had fought against for so long, who had destroyed this nation, this land, while barely raising a finger, stood with his back to Jack, long dirty blond hair in a high ponytail, casually leaning against a chunk of concrete.
Phil stood beside him, smiling lightly, face streaked with soot and blood. The little gems that hung from his hat and robes cast sparkles around the ruins, and Jack almost felt something like wonder, or admiration, or… regret? He looked like an angel, with his wings folded behind him, his eyes bright and fiery.
Technoblade was the one laughing, his curly hair spilling off his shoulders, the white-blond color it once was, now stained a dark pink with blood and clay. His single good eye glittered maniacally under his pig skull mask, and his arms swept in a wide arc as he twirled slowly, deep red velvet gown floating over the ground and causing pebbles to go skittering.
Jack remembered that laugh. The laugh of a man who pointed a firework down at him and smiled. The man who destroyed him, destroyed his home, destroyed his friends.
He stood up, almost expecting someone to step in, stop him, but no one noticed as he marched into the pit, to the three gods gathered in the center.
No one ever noticed.
Techno noticed, of course, stopping his revelry to gaze at the young man walking up to him, and he opened his mouth to say something, but Jack really really didn’t want to hear it.
He wound back his arm, and slammed his fist into Technoblade’s mask, as hard as he could.
Something in his fist cracked, but he pulled back, and punched again, and again, and again, aiming for the head, the chest, the neck. Finally, a voice that sounded so similar to Tubbo’s yelled his name, yelled at him to stop, but he didn’t care.
He was shouting something too, something wild, and garbled and furious. People were turning to stare, gazing into the crater at the mere soldier slamming his clearly broken hands into the Blood God’s chestplate, tears pouring down his face. Good. Let them stare. They weren’t going to remember him anyway.
Suddenly, two huge hands caught his wrists, forcing him to stop- almost a pitying gesture- and he stared up at the amber eyes of the most infamous killer in the dimension, and he felt nothing but rage. He slammed his head forward, into Techno’s mouth.
It didn’t do much, apparently, other than amuse the warrior, and he gave the boy a half-pitying smile before turning to glance at Phil.
“Mmmm… Thank the gods that L’Manburg has the great Jack Thunder Manifold here to keep them safe.”
Jack felt his heart plug as soon as his name left the lip of the other man, and he gulped. How did he know his name? He was nothing, a speck of dust in a ruined city. Finally, Techno turned his gaze back to him, and released him. Jack stumbled back a couple steps, before watching the other man pull out his sword.
He was going to die. He was going to loose his last life right here, right now, and he smiled.
“Do it.” His voice shook, but his heart burned with an intensity he was almost scared to acknowledge. “Kill me. I’m done. You win.”
Technoblade frowned at him, levelling the sword at his neck, but he paused. “...Do you have any last words, Jack Manifold?”
Jack hesitated. Did he? He’d never really thought it through, last words were something for heroes, for people who appeared on the book cover, for people who were worth remembering. He couldn’t think of anything, other than… “Just get it over with, bitch.”
And then Techno pulled back the sword and swung.
That death was the least painful. There was a moment of agony, as there always was, but it bled out quickly, along with the boy.
So he was in the void. Forever alone. Cold, tired, and alone.
Jack cried then. He hadn’t really cried in a long time, he realised, but sitting alone in the void seemed like the best time to do it.
“Hello.”
“...Wilbur?”
“Jack.”
“You look... nice.”
“Thank you. Pros of being dead, I suppose. I can make myself look good, and I don’t even have to shower.”
“Oh. Makes sense. Am I…am I here for good? Like, I can’t leave?”
“I’m… not sure? Everyone’s souls split in two when they die, the ghost bit and the soul bit. Your ghost is probably down there, somewhere, but hypothetically, you can switch with it-”
“No, I don’t want to be a ghost. I’ve met yours, he’s a bore.”
“...Ouch?”
“No offense. I don’t want to be a ghost, I just want to be me.”
“... Jack?”
“Yeah?”
“You weren’t much to begin with. Why go back?”
“What?”
“You… you were kinda the least… well, the least person I knew. You really want to try so hard to get back, when no one would even notice?”
Jack didn’t respond to that.
He just started walking.
For a while, Wilbur walked with him, trying to get him to stop, but, eventually, he gave up, letting him go.
He walked for hours, until the nothing turned into something.
The Prime Path.
He went home, and got a bowl of soup, and went to bed.
Everyone noticed he’d died.
No one noticed he shouldn’t have respawned.
He didn’t care.
He marched to Niki’s house, first thing in the morning, with his proposition.
Tommy was the main character, and Jack was nothing, but he’d be damned before he let himself get ignored.
He was everything, and he was nothing, and he knew the secrets of the universe, and he’d stared God in the eye and called him a bitch.
And Jack Manifold became a villain.

LONG POST
Someone please stop me from writing the ghost tubbo idea i had a month ago to procrastinate on the dreamon au
Because like i had this AU and maybe if i write about it here it will stop me??? I can’t actually find the conversation on discord where i talked about it so i’m probably just gonna throw stuff here from memory and change half of it
Feel free to write a fanfic inspired by this, but 1. tag me 2. i’d appreciete if you credited the idea or at least said i inspired you ^^’
Ok so Tubbo died during the Festival. Like I don’t care if in this a Respawn!AU or Permadeath, irl or whatever. Tubbo doesn’t respawn and dies in Tommy’s arms.
Assuming it’s a world with Respawn, Tommy just waits for Tubbo’s body to disintegrate or whatever the bodies in this AU do, as Techno massacrates people in the background, he just repeats to himself something along the lines of “C-come on Tubbo! Respawn already!”, but his friend stays limp in his arms, growing cold.
In the end, they need to flee, like they did during the festival. Feel free to make Wilbur even more insane or evil whatever you prefer and make him leave the body saying either don’t take it, he’s a traitor, just like Eret or just it’s going to be a dead weight (ha, a pun!) (that was so inappropriate to the scene sorry ignore this), so they leave the body and it’s buried in the Manburg just like in the later Tommy’s stream where he zoomed onto the grave with a sign saying that here lies the traitor Tubbo.
But you can also make Tommy carry his dead friend’s body all the way to Pogtopia, anger and grief clashing, still in the denial stage, hoping Tubbo will come back. Like Tubbo dies all the time! He’s just such a clingy, clumsy big man right? He will come back, right?! Tommy rests Tubbo somewhere in the Pogtopia on a makeshift bed hoping it will make the healing faster and as Techno and Wilbur talk ‘downstairs’ he realizes something. Tubbo isn’t coming back. He would be back by now normally.
He’s shook to the core with the realization and shakingly goes down to Techno and Wilbur. The pit happens, but at the end, even after Techno’s speech about the language of violence, maybe Tommy snaps? Maybe Tommy yells how Tubbo isn’t coming back? Maybe the older men, practically brothers to Tommy, realise that Tubbo is nowhere to be seen? Maybe they realise the boy, the spy, the victim of the situation is dead? Maybe Niki stares and gasps in horror in the background and is the one who goes to Tommy first to comfort him and help him with the wounds from both the pit and the whole today? Maybe Wilbur stares in horror at his fists, realising he’s the one who put Tubbo in danger? He wanted Tubbo to do the speech, he made Tubbo run back and forth between the two leaders, maybe if he didn’t pressure Tubbo as much, Schlatt wouldn’t have noticed. Wilbur falls to the ground and sits with his head between the knees for a long time, wondering about what he did wrong.
Technoblade?  He’s awkward and we all know it. He may be a god of PvP, the best farmer in Minecraft, but he’s still awkward. Of course he wants to comfort his little brother, but what can he really do? He’s at loss and still hasn’t fully accepted what he’s done. He killed Tubbo, but he had thought he’d respawn/survive(I really went at the beginning and said this can be also for permadeath au and then wrote it all about respawn au but whatcha gonna do huh).
Overall the tension in Pogtopia is high, but to be fair, so is Manburg. People didn’t know about the execution and (you know what im just gonna keep going as if the respawn au was planned) the brush with death, even if they respawned, was never pleasant. It’s even worse when they somehow find out Tubbo didn’t respawn. Some people are happy with the fact, others are in shock and grief.
And here can end chapter 1! Or at least it feels natural for me to cut off somewhere here! Idk really it all depends on your writing style. I'm not gonna dictate how you’re supposed to write idk myself neither.
Assuming Tommy took the body with him, he later goes on to the only place where Tubbo found peace. Where Tubbo went during the war, the only place where he wasn’t bothered, where he was safe and truly free, without a leader or a dictator over him. Tommy went to Tubbo’s jungle base.
He took the body with him, not letting anyone of Pogtopia know where he’s going, not wanting a Wilbur or a Technoblade, especially a Technoblade with him. He felt as though he needed to do this alone. He needed to make sure his friend, at least posthumously, gets the treatment he deserves. So he buried his best friend as he would bury a king.
Tommy spends the night at the jungle base and awakes at night, by a greenish blue light. It’s not too strong, but it’s just enough to be felt. He rubs at his eyes, trying to awake himself, to see if he’s not seeing this, but there it is. A will-o-wisp floating in the middle of the building. Tommy gets up, picks up his sword and carefully maneuvers around the wooden beams with a collapsed floor, he gets to the centre.
He gently cups his fingers and let’s the ember fall on his hands, but as soon as it touches them, there’s a bright flash and Tommy falls to the floor momentarily blinded. When he regains his sight he looks up and sees a ghost floating above him. Its back is turned to him, but he can tell it’s as confused as he is. But wait… He recognizes that shirt. It may be more bright and glowish, but…
“TUBBO” he screams in the dead of the night, the nature suddenly quieting. The spirit turns around with phantom tears in their eyes “,Tommy?” they whisper and that was the moment both of them were sure of each other’s identity.
Tommy rushes, tries to stand up and hug Tubbo, but he simply passes through the boy.
As disheartening as that was, Tommy is still overjoyed to see Tubbo alive. Or at least here, as they soon agree that he is in fact dead. Feel free to put a flashback here, a new paragraph or whatever maybe a new chapter from tubbos perspective.
The last thing Tubbo saw was a grim grin from Techno and a flash of blue and red fireworks. Here is a “how creative can you get” test! You can put somehow afterlife looks like, maybe something comes for Tubbo to go on, but he refuses? Maybe he sees nothing or everything is a blur? Maybe it was the last thing and the first thing he saw was Tommy’s crying face? Here is your free chappy for all the angst it can fit! Have fun go wild, turn on some sad music and let it ALL out!
Tubbo and Tommy talk for long and Tommy tells Tubbo the fallout of his death and Tubbo tells Tommy what happened from his perspective.
But here’s the funny thing, because I don’t know what you think, but… ghosts aren’t actually bound to places! They’re spirits they can go wherever they please! So Tubbo decided to stick around to Tommy. And as they travel and reach Pogtopia, they find out, Wilbur or Techno don’t see Tubbo. From a brief moment, where Tommy was sleeping and Tubbo broke away and went to see Manburg after the festival on his own eyes, he meets Schlatt and as he stops his breathing (he doesn’t need it, he’s dead, he just does it for comfort or out of habit), he’s scared, he think he’s noticed and waits for insults or a surprise or a sorry or a laugh, he feels something phase through him. Schlatt didn’t see him. Schlatt can’t see him.
After a number of tests Tommy and Tubbo settle it. The leader can’t see the spirit.
Niki can see him, it’s settled pretty much the day after Tommy came back, with a shout of fear and surprise and later happiness.
Quackity can see him as it’s settled, when Tommy meets him in the forest and Quackity aside from being scared shitless by a teenager with netherite armour, he sees a disoriented, glitchy ghost behind the teenager, floating creepily, lighting up the forest around them in a sickly cyan light.
Everyone can see Tubbo, but the people who caused his very death.
AND I’M DONE HERE. I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. I CAN TRY TO THINK OF SOMETHING IF YOU ASK ME, BUT RN AS I’M WRITING THIS DOWN I DON’T KNOW.
Reminder, if you want to write this plz credit the idea <3 Also holy shit this hit 1831 words how.

Techno and Phil meet Vox Machina
Oh god I haven’t thought about Vox Machina (my beloved) in years, I abandoned my children
Anyway, they all meet up on some type of fetch quest where they all need something. Time to work together!
There are so many ways things can go for Percy and Techno. On the one hand, these two would have some respect for each other’s blacksmithing (though they’ll be damned if they ever admit it to each other). Techno wouldn’t care to use a gun, but he’d be impressed with its deadliness. Percy recognizes that Techno has built his gear himself, and is able to harness the power of fireworks to fight.
Percy also represents everything Techno hates about government, and Techno can easily keep up to challenge Percy verbally. These two are just constantly sniping at each other the whole way until the others physically distance them
As the two get into a heated argument, unseen in the background, Vex points her arrow at Technoblade. Phil points his sword at Percy. They’re smiling at each other
If it was possible in the world of Exandria, Percy gets all of Technos history and Greek mythology references.
Techno is wary of Scanlan and his magic, seeing him as the 2nd wild card of the group. Until Scanlan sings him a song about “Subscribing to Technoblade.” Now Techno is obligated to defend him, he needs the clout. They probably end up joking around a lot with each other and get wrapped up in their own bits.
Scanlan suggests stealing an airship and Techno pulls out a board with the entire heist plan.
Seriously get these two on a leash they have low wisdom and will cause problems on purpose
Phil is either laughing or has his head in his hands whenever Scanlan speaks, silently thanking whatever gods are watching that Wilbur isn’t around for this
(Wilbur and Scanlan would spend so much time coming up with ridiculous songs oh my god)
Vax: “Hey there big guy~”
Techno: “No”
Vax: “How do you feel about pranks”
Techno: “...I’m listening”
In all seriousness, while I think Techno and Vax could bond over pranks, they’d both be pretty wary of each other. Vax is always impressed with how powerful Techno is in fights, but recognizes him as a legitimate threat if they weren’t allies.
Techno, meanwhile, is absolutely exasperated by Vax’s speed. How the fuck are you that fast Vax’ildan?! Hacks! Hacks! If Vax tries to flatter him he’ll go along with it, but doesn’t take it seriously. Yes, yes, he is amazing, this is true, pay close attention as I slice this guys head from his body in one swing. Always keep Vax in sight.
Phil and Vax bond over wings and go flying, Phil laughing at how ridiculously fast Vax is. I’m sure Vax’s magical wings don’t need preening, and they don’t know each other well enough in one adventure, but listen! Phil preening Vax’s wings while Vax gives Phil tiny braids.
Phil knows Techno is always keeping an eye on sneaky Vax, so Phil does the same. Vax tries to sneak away and finds Phil following behind, or he tries to hide and sees Phil staring directly at him. “Hey Mate.”
Techno and Vex also develop a rivalry on who can shoot the best. A lot of debates about semantics. They spend quite a bit of time bargaining over who gets what loot. Sometimes it ends on good terms, but can get heated if it’s something they’re both adamant about getting.
Techno loves Trinket. He is the best bear, even if he can’t fight well, he does his best. Techno will kill for Trinket. It’s what sparks Vex and Technos friendship, and if they were able they would bond over people constantly taking them at their worst. Vex is not defined by her greed. Techno is more than a violent brute.
Phil and Vex bonding over hunting dragons. Phil has killed quite a few, and they’re Vex’s favored enemy. Phil is pretty interested in the idea of hunting down the Chroma Conclave, as much for the whole “world wide threat” as “I want to kill a dragon.” Vex is low key jealous that Phil has actual wings, not magical ones. Phil thinks Vex’s flying broom is very cool, even if he prefers his wings
I’m remembering Vex did a lot of research into the Raven Queen and even read a cursed book? Point is, I think Techno and Phil would appreciate her researching capabilities
Grog and Techno are best friends your honor. They’re first language is violence, they’re fiercely loyal to their friends, they don’t always do well with being vulnerable. They both want to improve themselves in some way (Grog through education, Techno not wanting to always use violence). They totally take a moment to have a sparring match, and come out stronger because of it. They may not have the same intelligence score, but Techno never mocks Grog for that. Someone tries to insult Grogs intelligence and Techno appears with an axe.
These two talk each other up any chance they get. They are each other’s hype man
Phil amazes Grog because he didn’t know a person could have wings? He thinks they’re fake for awhile. Phil has some fond exasperation towards Grog, but never thinks less of him. Is very amused at his and Technos quickly developing friendship.
Pike and Techno go half and half. On the one hand, Pike doesn’t mind violence. Her brother is Grog and she loves fighting. Techno wonders how a holy women could not mind drinking, violence and sex but doesn’t push the topic. Rolls with it and recognizes that Pike has a lot more going on.
On the other, Pike is still a good person and wouldn’t tolerate all violence. She has a limit, even if she understands why the person is doing what they’re doing. She would be much more willing to hear Techno out and talk to him about ideals than most others.
Pike and Phil are funny. Pike is known as a literal angel, this ultra good person, but she’s not, she’s got her own dark side. Philza is labeled the “Angel of Death” but he’s got a good heart even if he’s a bit too eager to pull a sword on you.
Keyleth is terrifying to Techno. She has magic, can change into any animal including a dragon?! She’s so powerful! She’s also so awkward and her moral compass is firmly pointed in the opposite direction of Techno. Welp. I could see them also having debates on anarchy and society and governments and methods, and ultimately they wouldn’t agree with each other. At least completely, I can see them coming to an understanding on some parts and walking away with something to think about.
Keyleth is probably jealous of how well Techno can explain himself without getting nervous. Then somehow learns that Techno is actually pretty anxious and doesn’t do well in high pressure situations, and gods same
Techno to Keyleth, at some point: “Aren’t you tired of being nice, don’t you want to go apeshit?”
Phil is low key worried that Keyleth is going to stress herself out so much she’ll turn into an old woman right there. Tries to joke around with her to get her to loosen up if she starts to get stressed. A lot of bonding about nature and adventuring and their friends. If Phil drinks with her, they end up lamenting how amazing their friends are
Still
Techno: Phil, if this goes wrong, stab Keyleth first
Phil: Done
Also
Vox Machina: We don’t understand how Phil and Techno are friends. Technoblade is so violent and could probably kill us without hesitating, but Phil is so nice and calm?
Phil, standing behind them ready to kill the moment they take one wrong step in Technos direction: He’s not that bad
Both sides on opposite sides of the room planning to kill each other the minute something goes wrong
Vox Machina will at least kill Phil because their favored enemy is old people

NAME: CYREX “JUNKRAT” KAIZEN GOES BY: JUNKRAT, REX, JUNKER. FACECLAIM: BERK ATAN AGE: 29 PRONOUNS: HE/HIM ZONE OF ORIGIN: ZONE 2 STATUS: MECHANIC @ CHQS & CHAOS JUNKER ON THE DL
TRAITS
+ PRECOCIOUS + SHARP WITTED + SLICK
- CHAOTIC - DISORDERLY – TUMULTUOUS
HEADCANONS:
Calloused fingers pick at the wrapping on Rex’s left hand, wet where an unhealed injury lies underneath. A honeyed crimson seeps through the brown-stained brace and the Junker’s stabbing his right thumb into the palm of his hand – stems the flow (so he imagines.) and eases the pain vibrating through his hand as it shakes under irritated tendons. There’s an abundance of cusses slipping from Kaizen’s lips that remind him that it’s his clumsy manner of battling through an uncharted junkpile; sharp is broken metal; like glass at its edges when a hand catches the tip ever so cleanly. He’s surrounded by chaos (that’s how everyone else would see it, at least.) when in fact, it’s an organised catastrophe of scrap and mechanical-potential. He’s sprawled on the roof of a broken vehicle, indented under the weight of the man and his gizmos as he looks at the rising sun above; streams of light reflecting off his steampunk-esque glasses that are strapped to his forehead and shield the rays that have every likelihood to burn his sockets – one of the more horrific of instances for a man who prides on reparations to sustain life.
Black boots thump on the concrete rooftop – Cyrex convinced that his hole-up of a headquarters (the one he doesn’t act like a screwed-on being for.) is on the collapse, every day, something new crops up that he’s tinkering together. Never is anything broken for too long, tarps overhead that form a blockade from overheating, a gentle whir in the background of a refrigerator-like device that he’s storing scraps in. Junkrat is the perfect calibre of a name – though, the tailed creatures that scutter along the floor between overgrown ivy would probably argue against the moniker. Not that Rex sees them as junk, but they’ve got a nice crunch – kind of like bone, some would say. He finds use for that too; perfect sounding alarm for little junk boobytraps that put him on the other end of a Raider’s alert.
Kaizen’s got a favourite rat, she’s called Tess, surname, Tickle.
Distinguished is his attire; braces, ripped, torn and an eyesore of a mechanic in the walls of CHQS. Though unquestionably talented when challenged in the art of techno talk and rather a soloist if it were chalked down to a performance. An old, carcinogenic aroma is distinct enough that it is only outweighed by burnt oil and rubber of the rover’s Rex is known to fasten together; call him a motorhead; will race you to any milestone; all territories and let unforgiving crashes be their end. It’s not obvious with how he behaves that the tinkerer is any gifted in the maintenance department; but he’ll outdo any upgrade with a toothpick and package tape and make it work if that’s the only things available.
BIOGRAPHY
There’s never a need for anything to be fixed if the world remains perfect. Those phrases that cover the ‘if it’s not broken don’t fix it’ never really apply to Amhaven – in Rex’s history, never has.
Never short is the demand for skilled hands; quick fingers that have developed based on a world gone mad.
Goggles on, sparks alight like fireworks spraying directly from the ends of Junkrat’s fingers; he’s constructing. Machinery in brutalised hands and a lazy kind of roll of his head side to side like he’s impatient to finishing this particular project. Always the mechanic, likes to think he’s often the best of them. Anyone else is a lesser – comes to be why he’s always remained fairly isolated, rooted himself in places nobody else dares risk; a building (like most of them in the concrete jungle) on the brink of collapse; perfect headquarters for privacy, to build a retreat from stolen tarps and sticks. Old timber that’s got such rot through it that even woodworm doesn’t want to touch it. Metal, bone and the world at the scrapper’s fingertips; his haven.
Kaizen remembers his early years – sort of, a collection of memories compiled of gathering trinkets and gizmos that he wrestled with concaved vehicles for. Once wore a truck’s steering wheel like it was a new age war accessory – popped out the centre, acted like he was some kind of Havoc (also, a stolen shredded zone one relic of a comic book that he lost in two days to his own fire friendly hands.) Though, it stuck, as did the vision of his first taste in the Junker, Raider clash – he’d never seen a nose pop like a grape til then either, splat; a sound that really buries deep into the core of anyone. Crunch of ivory beneath Ransacker’s boots that had once belonged to his guardians; mentors; parents and fast does Rex learn some things simply cannot be fixed with even the fastest, adroit fingers.
Death’s permanent – no fixing that.
Scrambles away from the wreckage, a slick coating of red that decorates skin and clings like oil to every crevasse. It stains, both physically and mentally and if souls were ever an interest to someone like Junkrat, it probably has a mark there too. If only as a fuel to the man’s vigilance to the way of being a junker; more than just shiny things and scrap metal to be forged and utilised to self-serving purposes, an adaptable lifestyle that Kaizen blossomed into and now – in adulthood, understands rivalry with R&R and all its complications.
Though, the chaos is also welcomed when Cyrex has his gadgets in place like mines on a field. He often watches with botched binoculars in one hand from the rooftop of an abadoned multi-storey, legs swung over the edge with something to snack on in his other hand. It’s like cinema, the way incoming Raiders intend to… raid – so Rex assumes, and there’s just explosions followed by traps that provide all levels of lethality. A kind of wry smile as he throws offchunks of meat into his mouth and chews with amusement as stolen trucks attempt to barrage in and end upturned in a ditch; flames dancing along the dry grass in some mad max-esque carnage.
Friday night entertainment at its finest.
Deserved after a hard working week as recruited mechanic at CHQS – ha.
But yes, he does do that too, snags a spot in the mechanic ranks and enjoys the minimal joyride of liberating labrats whilst he’s maintaining the safety of those traveling between. How he got there – questionable. What isn’t, is how adept he is at doing it. Therefore, the carbuncle that he is in homemade tarp cargos and some form of fabric adoring his torso; a kind of armouring of metal and scrap that seems haphazard in its placement (though entirely logical if Junkrat were to think on it) are certainly, even in Amhaven, not the best of business attire, but it works. The scrapper always remains glad that his only requirement in the building is maintenance; tinkering upgrades that have every kind of ability to be less lackluster, more dangerously eccentric.
Tess Tickle as his right hand lady; lucky charm; never does his tinkering fail.
Until well, sometimes, it does.
And he has to go back and repair it.
Cue the sounds of thunder when he approaches in his jacked rover with enough modifications that would kill half the zone if the vehicle were to explode. Don’t touch it, he’ll probably show you how many uses a screwdriver actually has.
CONNECTIONS
RAMESES "RA" EL AYOUBI | Other half; the Mother to the Rat Pack Collective where Junkrat’s the father. (In Rex’s opinion.) Chaos fuelled duo that has probably been responsible for at least sixty percent of both missing objects and rats that eventually end up in The Collective; living in the shared homebase (the one that’s not on Rex’s rooftop because... Ra says he needs... walls.) within a formerly desolate Chuck ‘E’ Cheese sign. Kaizen’s built a runway for the RPC out of it, a few acquired and repaired neon bulbs very reflective of Z1 in the odd letterings. Yes, Ra and Junkrat (more Junkrat... probably) are this delinquent-like at most times. And yes, they really did argue about walls; their first domestic one could say.
FURTHER DEPTH
Named his rover/machine of a car, Hyena because, sometimes feral; sometimes doesn’t listen; often acts out and well; makes a lot of noise.
Will greet you with a wrench in the shoulder, or a spanner to the stomach. Ultimately depends what he has in his hands when you look at him odd.
Odd does indeed mean just be in his general vicinity.
On a good day, he might grin and look more like he might either kiss you (not that you’d want to) or ask you to race him and Tess Tickle to the meeting room. Yes, the one he definitely should not be in.
Almost always covered in grease, oil, lubricant, some other unidentified roadside substance and excess foodstuffs if not all at the same time.
Don’t mention the smell. He can’t fix that, it’s natural.
Probably replaces most civility with unpleasantries in regards to verbal communication, otherwise, he’s probably throwing peanuts at someone when waiting for something to boot up and he can work on it.
Generally goes by Junkrat due to many obvious traits, also does carry Tess Tickle around in a lil self-made backpack-like cage with a totally safe exercise wheel to keep her entertained during transport if she wants to go out on days.
Yes, he talks to the rats, there’s a whole liberated Rat Pack Collective. Where did they all come from? Don’t worry about it. Ask Ra.
Wears everything out of Mad Max, scraps of brown and dirtied attire that makes him look like a wilderness explorer; totally on brand, absolutely his style, the red stains... don’t recommend asking about those either.

Me, listening to Straight and Arrow by Indica: “Hey, this reminds me of L’manburg! I’m gonna pick a couple of lyrics out of the song and put my reasoning why it reminds me of L’manburg!”
I say as i make a full AMV/PMV script with the song that centers around Bench trio with BG hints of L’manburg.
Road’s getting narrow, with snakes in the shadow. And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows.
The end of the Manburg VS Pogtopia war. Techno has already fled. The L’manburg survivors (Tommy, Tubbo, Quackity, Fundy, Niki & Jack) are huddled in a group in the foreground, the other SMP members are behind them in the brackground. Everyone except the ones in the foreground, Phil and Eret are undetailed. Show L’manburg, or what’s left of it after Wilbur and Techno had their fun.
Where a man with an arrow was hung by the shallows. Little boys, little boys, little boys who became what they feared.
A shot of Wilbur’s dead body, and Phil holding a bloody sword. Pan from Phil over to the clingy duo, a glitching effect happens. During the glitching Tubbo’s horns become longer, curling around his ears, and Tommy is wearing a trench coat and beanie combo.
Who would have thought that the one’s who spoke of trust would come to betray us?
Eret betraying L’manburg in the final control room.
Who would have sought love from those who prayed for peace while sowing hatred’s seed?
The Dream team, focusing on Dream. Dream said he wanted peace, but used violence and betrayal in a attempt to get it.
Who would have fought for a land where blood flows till it clots each river?
Any war that happened on L’manburg soil, honestly.
Who would have sons knowing all the orphans they would soon deliver?
Wilbur and Fundy, enough said.
Kneel beside me, in this field of memory. Don’t become those you fear; don’t kill what you’ve been.
clingy duo having a peaceful moment, sitting together on their bench. The scene changes to Dream, Tommy, Tubbo, Quackity and Fundy on the obsidian wall. Tubbo exiles Tommy, and Dream drags Tommy away. four translucent figures appear; Schlatt is standing besides Tubbo, copying Tubbo’s pose, Wilbur is walking along with Tommy, and Tommy & Tubbo from before the wars, looking at their older selves in horror.
Cause the straight and narrow has snakes in the shadow. And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows.
New L’manburg, all of the people living in it (Tubbo, Quackity, Ghostur, Fundy, Phil, Ranboo, Jack & Niki) are gathered around, one by one the members of the group start to fade as they ‘move on’, for each person that fades New L’manburg looks more and more like a ghost town. Only Tubbo, Ranboo and Ghostbur don’t fade away.
Where a man with an arrow was hung by the shallows.
Techno at Tubbo’s execution, holding the firework loaded crossbow (the arrow), to Techno at his own execution, eyeing the anvil hanging above him.
Little boys, little boys, little boys who became what they feared.
Tommy & Techno taking Connor hostage, and meeting with Tubbo & Ranboo. Show off the fact that Tommy is wearing Wilbur’s coat, and working with Techno, while Tubbo;s horns are longer, and he’s clearly out of it, but trying to hold himself together.
You should have known; the snakes were figments of imagination.
Ranboo in the panic room with the Dream voice.
You should have shown; the roads and gallows were your creation.
Ranboo at the comunity house scene. Dream throws [note: i always like to imagine Dream throws the book at Tubbo, bonking him on the head with it] Ranboo’s memory book at Tubbo as he reveals Ranboo is a traitor.
Sleep beside me, there’s no time to worry. The sound that you hear, it comes from your ear.
Tommy rallying people VS Ranboo trying to stop people from picking sides.
Cause the road gets narrow, with snakes in the shadow.
Flash forewards to the future, Tommy has his disks, Tubbo has Snowchester.
And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows.
Dream in prison, L.
Little boys, little boys, little boys there’s a choice!
Tubbo, Ranboo, Tommy & Michael being happy. :D
The straight and narrow has snakes in the shadow. And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows. Where a man with an arrow was hung by the shallow.
headshots of Tommy and Tubbo, both with their eyes closed. Tommy’s background is red, Tubbo’s background is gray. Memories of the war pass by them, most notable being Schlatt & Wilbur’s deaths.
Little boys and their toys; little boys who became what they feared.
zoom out to show the backgrounds fully as Tommy & Tubbo open their eyes. Tommy is at his hotel, Tubbo is with his nukes. the scene glitches. Tommy has ram horns, Schlatt is behind him, smiling proudly, Tubbo is wearing Wilbur’s coat, Wilbur is next to him, looking in awe at the nukes.
Weep beside me, in this sea of memory. Don’t you see what i see? You’re the men that you fear.
Tommy, Tubbo & Ranboo hanging out, the three of them are happy. The scene changes to grayscale, the only other colour being the purple of Enderboo’s eyes, Tubbo’s holding a nuke, Tommy’s wearing a suit, none of them look happy anymore.
When the road gets narrow, with snakes in the shadow. And the man with an arrow was hung by the shallow.
Doomsday.
“What’s the point!”
One of the ‘completely given up on L’manburg’ trio (Fundy, Niki & Ranboo) shouts this.
When the road gets narrow, with snakes in the shadow. And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows. Where a man with an arrow was hung by the shallow. Little boys, little boys there’s a choice, there’s a choice.
Dream and Ranboo, Schlatt and Tommy, Wilbur and Tubbo. All three pairs are in some sort of black space, the pair can only see eachother, not one of the other pairs. But independently the minors each grab a weapon, a bow for Tommy, a axe for Ranboo, and a crossbow filled with fireworks for Tubbo. Each of them attack the adult of the pair, ‘freeing’ themselves from their legacys.
When the road gets narrow, with snakes in the shadow. And the shade where you sleep is formed by the gallows. Where a man with an arrow was hung by the shallow.
The scene fades to show all three of them standing next to eachother, looking over L’manburg’s crater, Tubbo is holding Michael. Tommy, who had been telling Michael the story of L’manburg, shakes his head as Ranboo places a concerned hand on his shoulder. The three of them move on.
“Little boys, little boys, little boys don’t become what you fear”
Tubbo begs Michael as they leave L’manburg behind
