NO... TERRIBLE NEWS... rip
Ace Farren Ford, recording artist, performing artist, visual artist, writer and tattooist.
While the cause of Ace Farren Ford’s death remains unknown, his sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of fans and fellow musicians alike. Tributes have poured in from all corners of the music community, highlighting his immense talent and the indelible mark he left on the industry.
Ace Farren Ford’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of musicians and artists. His fearlessness in embracing the unconventional, coupled with his unwavering commitment to his craft, serves as a reminder of the power of artistic expression. Through his music, Ford encouraged listeners to explore uncharted territories and embrace the beauty of experimentation.
The untimely passing of Ace Farren Ford has left a profound impact on the music world. As we mourn the loss of a true visionary, we must also celebrate his extraordinary contributions to the field of experimental music.
Has been on the outskirts of the outskirts of music for over 50 years. In 1971 he began exploring the concept of free music with his group Ace & Duce, originally a duo, later a quintet featuring Rick Snyder, Dennis Duck and Tom Recchion.
In 1974 he joined the then newly formed noise rock group Smegma, and in 1975 helped to form the Los Angeles Free Music Society. He has appeared on more than 70 releases on lp, cd, singles and tapes.
He has played in groups as diverse as the Child Molesters, Rancid Vat, Crowbar Salvation, the Hurtin’ Bros., the Shadow Project, Heltir, the Mystery Band, the South Pasadena Free Music Ensemble & Airway.
In 2007 he officially rejoined Smegma and has appeared on several releases, joining them recently to play London, Sweden & the Getty in Los Angeles. He is a tattoo artist for 18 years, published 4 books of poems, and has exhibited his paintings and collages since 1994.
Smegma is an American experimental noise group formed in Pasadena, California, United States, in 1973.
Author Richard Meltzer became their vocalist in the late 1990s.
The group was included in the Nurse with Wound list and was featured on the cover of the August 2006 edition of The Wire.
Ace Farren Ford, known for his undeniable talent and captivating stage presence, was an integral part of the iconic band Smegma. Ford’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of experimental music and his unique artistic vision made him a revered figure in the underground music scene.
Born with an innate passion for music, Ace Farren Ford began his journey at a young age. Growing up in a family that appreciated various genres, he was exposed to a diverse range of influences, which ultimately shaped his distinctive style. Ford’s relentless pursuit of sonic experimentation led him to join forces with other like-minded musicians, resulting in the formation of Smegma.
Smegma, an avant-garde collective, became synonymous with the experimental music movement of the late 20th century. Ace Farren Ford’s contributions as a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer were instrumental in shaping the band’s unique sound. His ability to seamlessly blend elements of rock, jazz, and electronic music into their compositions set them apart from their contemporaries.
Beyond his work with Smegma, Ace Farren Ford collaborated with numerous renowned artists throughout his career. His collaborations extended beyond the music industry, as he also contributed to experimental film scores and performance art projects. With a reputation for pushing boundaries and challenging conventional norms, Ford’s impact on the art world was profound.
As Naima worked the room, Grayson kept watch between her and Hana. He watched her glance at her phone, look around the room, then head for the door. Bambi is on the move! He was making his way towards Naima when his route was suddenly blocked by a familiar-looking, older woman.
Adelaide: “Don’t you look delicious.”
Grayson had come face-to-face with what appeared to be an old bitty on the prowl and by the way she was  looking at him, he had become her prey. What IS it with these courtly ladies?
Grayson: “I’m not edible, but the food over there is.”
Adelaide: “And yet it’s not nearly as appetizing as what I see before me. I hope the show is as good as the view.”
Grayson: “Excuse me?”
What show? A puzzled Grayson stood there for a moment trying to figure out what the crazy lady was talking about. While talking to Maxwell, Naima happened to look over to see Adelaide practically molesting her bodyguard. Poor guy. She decided she would go and recue him from death by cougar. Go go gadget, fake smile.
Naima: “Hello, Adelaide.”
Adelaide: “Naima! I was just telling your guest here how I’m looking forward to seeing him in action.”
She was obviously tipsy and lightly swaying in her red bottoms. Naima looked at her, puzzled.
Naima: “What are you talking about?”
Adelaide: “You know. Of the exotic variety? Who knew those Beaumonts were so wily! Does he do private dances?”
Naima: “Wait a minute... You thought Maxwell got Liam a male stripper? For his birthday?”
Adelaide: “And why not? You never know what side a man’s bread is buttered on these days, darling. Or maybe he was a gift for both of you? They do say that royals have the most... unconventional tastes.”
She said the last part with a wicked smirk. She was clearly trying to get a rise out of Naima, but she wasn’t taking the bait. Not today, Satan.
Naima: “It’s not that kind of party.  This is my bodyguard, Grayson, not Magic Mike, and he just alerted me to a possible security thing so, if you’ll excuse us...”
Naima wraps her arm around Grayson’s and moves him away from Adelaide.
Grayson: “Thanks for the rescue. I was sure she was about to unhinge her jaw and swallow me whole.”
Naima: “You got off lucky. No one usually gets away from Madeline’s mom without getting their ass grabbed and her phone number stuffed in their pants.”
Grayson: “THAT’s Madeline’s mom? But she’s...”
Naima: “I know, right? Total opposites.”
Grayson: “Oh, before she pounced on me, I was about to tell you that I saw Hana head out of the ballroom.”
Naima: “Let’s go before we lose her!”

What are wikipedia random quiz rounds? Sounds like fun!
ah. yes, i can explain this. when we do a quiz as a discord family, we have a structure within which everyone writes 10 questions and then we take it in turns to be quizmaster. we have a lot of overlapping interests that go sort of venn-diagram-esque so the first time we did it some people had unfair advantages if people were asking about their own interests. to combat it, this time we all clicked the random article button on wikipedia until we found an article long enough to write ten questions on. in doing this, we ended up with some very interesting quiz rounds and have switched from being in the snakes on a plane fandom (none of us have seen snakes on a plane) to being in the bambi molesters fandom (1990s Croatian instrumental surf rock)

I know the one Bambi's talking about. Bambi will never make it to the bottom without leaking at least a little, so we'll say Bambi can post it once she reaches the bottom without edging herself into a dumb, stupid mess~
That sounds like a plan too~

Thanks for taking the thinking part 💕
