Rolling around a modern au where Ingo never got yeeted to Hisui and Akari still isn't dawn, but she does look an incredible amount like her. Akari works at gear station with the twins and bc she looks like dawn people often mistake her for the Sinnoh champ. Akari is the youngest of the gear station crew so everyone is constantly looking out for "the baby" (affectionate) Making sure the baby has her lunch, making sure the baby has all her hygiene needs, keeping the baby safe from people who want dawn's autograph or a battle. Akari left her family at the first chance, so the support of the gear station crew means everything to her. Maybe someone, a leftover from team galactic or team plasma, mistakes her for Dawn and thinks they'll get revenge on her and abduct her. Except they made a mistake, because they took gear station's baby and there will be hell to pay.
A rant I have about gf is that they didn't really expand Mabels personality outside of her being a silly and weird girl (don't take this as a "RAHHHH MABEL IS SELFISH AND DESERVES TO DIE" rant this is a different thing) like. In comparison to dipper, she wasn't taken as much serious when they were writing her. I can't tell if she was originally supposed to have more depth but Disney forced Alex to tone her down so she'd be more "relatable" to 8 year olds or if it was generally because Alex wrote dipper better bc dipper was based of of him. Needless to say I feel like the show should've atleast mentioned that Mabel is the stronger of the 2 and that she'd be the one to stand up against bullying and for justice
i agree! i think alex and the crew expanded more on her personality and motives a little bit in the cast commentary but it definitely would've been better to have explored those more in the show because... not everyone is gonna listen to the cast commentary
i think what you said is another reason people tend to sympathize more with dipper, it's in fact the same reason that between stan and ford people tend to defend stan. both dipper and stan were given more nuanced personalities by the showwriters (not to mention a. the narrative tends to follow and elaborate on dipper's perspective and his opinions and b. ford shows up for hardly 10 episodes and we know stan much better than him), so people tend to give mabel and ford the short end of the stick while analysing the show
also people find dipper more relatable between him and mabel. a lot of people, especially in fandom spaces, see themselves as introverts, and a lot of them also have anxiety. meanwhile not as many people can relate to the whole "outgoing weird girl" persona mabel has going on, Especially when it's not given as much depth as the show gives dipper
Some of my 1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen sims that I aged up and/or updated in the save I've been playing for 2 years (I think its that amount of time....the point is this is my main save for a long time). This is 27 out of 207 sims! And then there's another version of my simself in the last row (middle). 3 sims included here were made not born.
If you see this why don't you share the save you're currently doing with some of your favourite (or otherwise) born sims. I'm tagging you viewer!
finished season two of twin peaks tonight in the rewatch and it’s still as haunting and inconclusive and bizarre as ever. thanks mr lynch!! how’s annie………… 🪥
As much fun as I'm having doing my alternative run of DA2, one thing I really miss about my mage Hawke is his friendship with Merrill.
Those two are best friends and he's 100% supportive in her goals toward the eluvian. Ed has the humorous/charming personality, too, which bounces off super well with Merrill. He doesn't think any less of her for her usage of blood magic; if anything he's impressed by her level of strength and willpower. He's so ready to defend her from the other companions and the clan, and he's absolutely out here attempting to matchmake her and Carver....at least he is in my heart because the game won't let me, it's fine, I'm not bitter about it or anything-
But then my warrior Hawke? She has the diplomatic personality with quite a bit of direct/aggressive thrown in there and she ends up having the same attitude as that one party banter Aveline and Merrill have: "Merrill, you're clearly talented and meant for great things, but you're stupid," and that's so difficult for me to lean into. I'm trying to play Aris differently so she ends up being so condescending to Merrill, like she's trying to gently tell her to give up on the eluvian but it doesn't come off well.
Also if Carver was around, Aris would be the opposite of Ed, she'd look at the suggestion of her brother and Merrill getting together and be like, "No :) I don't think so :) I like Merrill, she's my friend :) but she's not right for Carver."
But I guess it makes sense; if you told him that Bethany would giggle and kick her feet and twirl her hair around Sebastian, Ed would've thrown him in the ocean as a warning. Meanwhile, Aris is like, "A handsome prince that could take my sister away from all of this? Wonderful, we just need to work on his incorrect views on mages, but that shouldn't be a problem :)"
Anyway I miss playing Hawke as the #1 Merrill stan.
I was confused by Syldor’s actions because why take in children you clearly don’t want but it’s about how Syldor sees taking the twins in like it’s an obligation. As if he’s forced to take them in and look after them simply because of their shared blood, when really he wasn’t forced at all.
yknow i think its really strange that like. classic series roll is way less present in the narrative and generally in the games than roll.exe and yet i still feel like we know more about roll light. and all she does is be the shopkeep at best
emmet being totally aware kamado could kick his ass and staring at him with this godawful :) face like "do it, you coward"
(in reference to this ask)
YES Emmet is fully aware that in a normal fist fight, Kamado could probably beat him.
But he spent his life working on a subway, with tons of people passing through, and not all of them happy passengers. And the whole reason Emmet was even suitable for that job was because he was already pretty unflappable even before that. Almost nothing intimidates or phases him anymore. The biggest scare he got recently was realizing he was down to the last cigarette in the pack he had on him when he Fell to Hisui.
So even if Kamado threatened to beat the shit out of him for being sus, Emmet's response would probably be then do it, pussy. :>
Malear's va is really bringing the 'waiter at olive garden coming up to take an order only to get dragged into a family argument of 1000 yrs worth of self esteem and resentment to be a neutral 3rd party/therapist' energy
BRR, okay. I'm all eyes for Dimitri's piece and Eyrie has committed war crimes baby ♡
sadkhf both you and @th-ink-firstirst asked about the dimitri piece! it's just a little wip i've had of him for ages now when i was doing some redesigning of his look
--
and the eyrie commits war crimes is just a really rough dialogue wip of eyrie having once been part of the garlean army and they did some rather unsavory things when garlemald invaded doma. things they did of their own volition twenty five years ago.
it's partially me just wanting to think about their history, but also thinking about the history of heroes and their lives before such things--the unsavory things that they have done. it's also....hmmm, taking off the mask of the hero for everyone else? taking off the rose colored glasses more like it. they've kept a lot of their personal history close to their chest, so it's just...easy for people to build up this idea of who they are on personal biases, and there's the revealing of those imagined expectations to that: imagined.
Michele: If you get lost again, I'll let the old hag catch you and sacrifice you to keep the darkness at bay.
Lorenzo: Hasn't happened yet!
Marco: Yeah, besides, we're not getting lost. We're exploring.
Michele: Well, you two can have fun exploring the Cthulu dimension then, I won't come and look for you.
Marco: What's Cthulu?
Lorenzo: Yeah, what's Cthulu?
Michele: ... A story a little too scary for you, boys. Now, if you don't get lost on me all the way home, I'll make gelato from scratch tomorrow with whatever flavour you want.
