House md really is the gayest of gay queerbait. Like I’m sorry but besides SPN and maybe Sherlock no one was doing it like them. And the thing is I don’t even think it was intentional??? House md was unbelievably popular but in a normal Game of Thrones, Grey’s Anatomy way. It’s the kinda show that everyone’s mom watched when it first came out on cable (mine included). Appealing to a young queer internet audience in 2007 wasn’t a marketing strategy they would ever attempt. It doesn’t make sense.
And yet.
The sheer amount of gay jokes and allegories is just overwhelming by the time you get to the last season. Amber is Wilson’s House proxy, House and Wilson move in together TWICE, the fake marriage proposal, the exploration of toxic masculinity, Wilson’s 3 failed marriages, fucking everything about the last few eps. Like what other tv show spent almost a decade creating the most co-dependent, self-sabotaging relationship between its two main male characters that is essentially the backbone of the entire show. They literally ride off into the sunset together. Idk what else you want from me.

Palestinian Red Crescent workers comforting little children terrified to use a crossing because they fear they'll get killed... where does one even begin? A child at this age should be worried about monsters under their bed, dentist's appointments, having to get out of bed for school. Not that another human being will try to kill them. And the brave rescue workers putting on smiles and pulling out juice cartons, tickling them to bring out a smile and maintain the illusion of safety...

Trans people don't have to abandon their entire pre-transition lives, and this is something I wish more people could acknowledge and respect.
There's an expectation for trans people to abandon every aspect of their "old selves", that it is only right for us to renounce everything that we were or that we thought we were before discovering we are trans.
Trans people will sometimes engage in communities that are "antithetical" to our current understandings of ourselves for so many reasons. For instance, a trans man might go to a lesbian meet-up because the lesbian community was the first place he could explore his gender and presentation in an environment that tends towards accepting gender and presentation deviance. There are way more examples of this, but my point is that trans people are not bad, or lying about their current gender, or heaven-forbid are predatory for engaging with these communities. You don't have to understand why some people do what they do, but I find that there is so much fear mongering about trans people who don't "match" what's expected of their gender or transition. Not all trans people will retain their pre-transition lives, and that's fine. Some of us do, though, and both these types of trans people can coexist; we take away nothing from each other by existing.

Okay but like your English is literally more than perfect to the point where you use niche internet slang and cadence far better than I or any of the other English-native internet-native people I know do… Sorry random but how do pls????
I ask because I’m trying to get my French to a fluent level while I’m here and I feel like what you do is the standard of truly truly fluent 🙏🙏🙏
Is it just that you consume a lot of media/social media in English? If so rip because I haven’t enjoyed any French shows I’ve watched so far, so if anyone has recs pls share 🥰
yes to the media/social media aspect everything is so english centric u almost can't help it idk if any of this is helpful with french at all. but also. 1. being on tumblr.com for like 13 years 2. prolonged high intensity exposure to kpop twitter (HELL) 3. mental illness 4. having the funniest mutuals and osmosing the fuck out of them 5. ur so wrong the message u send is more coherent than 98% of the things I've said on here ever 6. strictly using words in a recreational sort of manner 7. mental illness 8. incoherence and enigmaticness idk wtf I'm saying it's pure vibes u don't get what I mean and neither do I

i think gone girl is an absolutely incredible movie and is loyal in every single one of the ways it needs to be. HOWEVER there is this one scene which to me captures literally every single thing about amy and which unfortunately is not in the film. i will show.
“Let me tell you a story, one quick story. About three years ago, we were driving up to Massachusetts. It was awful, road-rage traffic, and this trucker flipped Amy off—she wouldn’t let him in—and then he zoomed up and cut her off. Nothing dangerous, but really scary for a second. You know those signs on the back of trucks: How Am I Driving? She had me call and give them the license plate. I thought that was the end of it. Two months later—two months later—I walked into our bedroom, and Amy was on the phone, repeating that license plate. She had a whole story: She was traveling with her two-year-old, and the driver had nearly run her off the road. She said it was her fourth call. She said she’d even researched the company’s routes so she could pick the correct highways for her fake near-accidents. She thought of everything. She was really proud. She was going to get that guy fired.”
anyway!! i’m absolutely obsessed with her. it’s not just that she’s cruel and vengeful, it’s that she’s just so completely and unendingly relentless. she is fantastic. truly amazing!!

I want to write an extensive post (some people might call it an article) about depression food. As someone who has struggled w depression + cooking for one (=spending more on food) I wish i could express my thoughts as someone who used to be the “what to coo k when you’re depressed” articles kind of audience . Nobody ever considers how you don’t get to have fresh groceries all the times. Seething at the most of “10 minute meal” google result which still often times so much above you energy level levels never mind cleaning up. The nights I’ve spent starving myself because it’s the easiest way out. Concerning on par of all these chefs who think they know what a depressed person of capable of and what they can’t do.
