When we approach some gentleman and request him to become a reader of "Back to Godhead" sometimes we are replied with the words "NO TIME". They say that they are too busy in earning money for maintaining the body and soul together. But when we ask them what do they mean by the 'Soul', they have nothing to reply. Dr. Meghnath Saha a great scientist was busily going to a meeting of the Planning Commission. Unfortunately while going in his car on the road he died and could not ask Death to wait because he had no time at that moment. Dr. Ansari, the great Congress leader, while dying in a moving train, on his way to home, said that he was himself a medical man and almost all his family men were so, but Death is so cruel that he was dying without any medical treatment. Therefore, Death has been described in the Bhagwat as (In Devanāgarī:) "dūrantavīrya" or the indefatigable. Death is awaiting everyone although everybody thinks that he may not die. There is life after death. The busy man should try to know this also as to whither he is going. This life is but a spot in his longest sojourn and a sane person should not be busy with a spot only. Nobody says that the body should not be maintained-but every body should know from "Bhagwat Geeta", that the body is the outward dress and the 'Soul' is the real person who puts on the dress. So if the dress is taken care of only, without any care of the real person-it is sheer foolishness and waste of time. When God is served, everything is served. Because God is everything, but everything is not God. When something is served, everything is not served for something is not everything. Therefore service of God is the service to (?). It is something like pouring water at the root of the tree or filling the stomach with foodstuff. That is the standard of service. In the 'Bhagwata Geeta' Shri Krishna said (Bg. 7.13-14): "All the world is enchanted by the three modes of natural qualities and thus they don't know Me, behind all these phenomenon, who am the Supreme ever-existing Lord." "All these illusions are certainly amusing or transcendental and they are insurmountable also. But those who serve Me only-can overcome all these." Nobody can go "Back to Godhead" or know Him as the Supreme Personality, because everyone is under the grip of the qualitative material nature. The material nature as she has three modes of qualities namely, goodness, passion and ignorance, even the highest intelligent person who may have possessed all the mundane good qualities, down to the lowest mass of people, mostly uneducated, lazy and overwhelmed with immense varieties of anxieties, none of them can know the Lord for the above reason. The natural laws are so made that they appear before us as so many problems. They are stiff because of the three qualities. The qualities are said to be amusing because everyone is satisfied by the quality of his sense-enjoyment. Beginning from the highest civilized man (a type of living being) down to the stool-eater Swine (another type of living being) everyone is satisfied by the object of sense gratification, even though they are all of different qualities. A learned Brahmin who is said to be the highest qualitative living being in the mode of goodness, down to the dog or the dog-eater man, who is considered to be the lowest qualitative living being, everyone is captivated by his own qualitative nature. And as long as one is conditioned by different modes of nature one cannot know the Supreme Person the cause of all causes. All of them are imprisoned by the different modes of qualitative shackles, one is bound up by the shackles of gold while the other is bound up by the shackles of iron. The material nature is so powerful, that she can keep under her conditions, all such illusioned living being in different categories of material modes. As the prisoner cannot himself break the shackles by his own effort so also nobody can surmount the laws of nature by his own tiny effort.

No amount of plans either of five, ten, or thousands and millions of years can therefore bring in permanent happiness to us, unless and until we take up the plan of the Supreme Lord and execute it sincerely. That is called the Standard Service. It is therefore essential that we should all take up immediately, the execution of the plan of Shri Krishna the Personality of Godhead by our standard service as chalked out in the lessons of "Bhagwat Geeta." The wrong type of civilization, which is too much materialistic, is dragging the total population of the world gradually towards a fall down into the lowest status of conditioned life. Conditioned life means to be more and more entangled by the laws of physical nature. The function of the physical nature is explained above. And those who are too much enamoured by such physical laws are called the Ashuras or the Atheist. The Atheist does not like to accept the Standard service which is recommended by the Supreme authority of the Personality of Godhead. Such atheists, however they may be great religionists, scholars, scientists, politicians, philosophers, poets, artists, administrators, businessmen, lawyers, educationists etc., are befooled by the laws of nature and therefore they do not recognise the Supreme authority of the All-Powerful. - Srila Prabhupada

BG Bob Pancakes Painting Empty Frames Texture Files + Short Custom Painting Tutorial

Using Sims 4 Studio, I’ve exported the texture files (png) for the 4 frames that came with the BG Bob Pancake Painting and made them empty for ease of making custom paintings in Sims 4! I’ve also included a texture file (png) that you can import to remove the shiny glass effect of the original painting.

i drew another one of my dnd ocs! i don’t have a name for her yet, and i haven’t rly designed her armour and stuff, but i just think she’s neat :))

a little bg under the cut if you’re interested:

she’s an elf rogue with the noble background.

she used to be some sort of low nobility, but some Things Happened and she had to escape. she’s been on the run for years, hopping from town to town, working jobs in bakeries/bookshops/taverns during the day and thieving/doing mercenary guild work at night. she used to be quite sweet and naive, but ever since she left, she had to learn things the Hard Way, and thus has become a lot more reserved and cautious of others. when you first meet her, she’s pretty closed off, as her walls have been built quite high, but once you get past them, you can still find that heart of gold from way back then :’)

some little details about her that stuck with me:

her roguish archetype is arcane trickster because she already had somewhat of an affinity for magic (it’s in her bloodline)

she used to have really long hair, but when she ran, there was this rly dramatic scene where she cuts hair hair with her dagger (yes just like mulan)

now, she’s gotten into the habit of cutting her own hair, and she just does it with her dagger and no mirror, so it’s super choppy

in her day jobs, she kinda reverts back into her old persona, super sweet and bright (it separates her from her night jobs, also it’s her ‘customer service face’ lol)

during her night jobs, she’s very efficient and no-nonsense, and is more prone to being snippy and making sarcastic comments (she’s trying to distance herself from the people she’s working with because she doesn’t trust them and/or doesn’t want to form connections)

she really tries to be self-serving and says she’s only looking out for herself, but she can’t pass up a person in need

in her free time (if she has any) she likes to find quiet spaces and read by herself

she doesn’t really know if she even still needs to be on the run or not, but she still doesn’t feel comfortable in staying in one place for too long (of course the place she stays the longest in is where the story begins)

Jan: bloodborne au helped me get back in the momentum of writing and was my longest coherent/seamless work for a while (since i write blurbs w no order and all over the timeline) so it reminded me that I could still make a complete narrative that wasn’t either of the 'nol dies’ or ‘eli dies’ aus.

Feb: my first time sharing my writing publicly (other than that rothe post)! i felt like this piece did a really good job of revealing some of Nol’s past and his inner workings. i was also able to share this one w my class + mom

Mar: I made this edit when I was really losing interest in the game. that feeling lasted through the year and still persists, but this edit and others remind me that there’s still moments i need ffxiv in my life beyond my fc

Apr: even though i went into this edit w that old poem in mind, the coloring choice in the bg was initially an accident that i rly loved + took me by surprise

May: one of my oldest poems inspired this edit so I let it accompany it, but i think the pictures really took off on their own and i found that super interesting? i also began using textures more often afterwards

Jun: aka the edit that made me start the 'elliot in cold colors’ challenge and why I always fail it bc the gold turned out so well and still does

Jul: I managed to get a really fantastic color scheme for one of my tougher characters to express. i solidified my shading technique here too!

Aug: A bit of the 2nd au that I never put on this blog: WWI au, where Elliot’s a seriously disgruntled assistant to his dad (the chaplain) and a makeshift medic. ft a bit of my ex battle medic, kayden vervloet.

Sep: Typography is my Worst Enemy but I ended up rly liking how the text came out in this edit! I also liked the darker palette and def the shading.

Oct: L’selle’s story has always been a plodding one so I was glad and relieved to finally get some of the bigger scenes highlighted in this set. his relationships with arismont and allen are also ones i refer to often, but never had a visual for

Nov: i dont often write Jos since he’s Nol and Eli’s go-to for “im panicking and need help NOW” so im glad i got to express him in a more relaxed scene.

Dec: ok i finished this on new years day and not eve but i started it before then so it counts. i completed the ‘elliot in cold colors’ challenge!

2018 MLS Best XI

The 2018 season was a banner year for MLS in terms of the growth of quality and depth in the league talent pool. With that said, selecting this year’s official 2018 MLS Best XI was as difficult as the process has ever been. And the resulting squad is one that would strike fear into the heart of nearly any opponent in the world.

And in honor of a season in which goals-per-game soared to 3.19, this year’s Best XI lines up in an offensive-minded 3-4-3 formation. Overall, the squad boasts 123 goals between them this season — which is 53 more than Atlanta scored this year as the league’s most productive offensive side. The front line alone has 65 goals, more than all but four MLS teams.

So without further ado, here is our official 2018 MLS Best XI …

FORWARDS

Signing with the Galaxy earlier this year, Ibrahimović stormed into the league with two late goals during his LA Galaxy debut on March 31. For 2018, he tallied 22 goals and 10 assists, becoming only the third player in league history to record a 20-goal, 10-assist season. His 32 combined goals and assists this season tie for the sixth highest total in MLS annals. Full stats and highlights

Josef Martínez shattered the MLS single-season scoring record with 31 goals, winning the Golden Boot. In only two seasons in the league, Martínez has broken the MLS career hat trick mark, scoring three goals in six different instances. The 37 combined goals and assists by Martínez this season are the second most in MLS history. The 25-year-old Martínez makes his second appearance on the MLS Best XI squad. Full stats and highlights

Arriving to MLS after a midseason transfer, Rooney pushed D.C. United from the bottom of the league to fourth place in the Eastern Conference behind 12 goals and seven assists in 20 games played, helping the club to a 12-4-4 record in matches he played during the regular season. MIDFIELDERS

Acosta experienced a breakout season for D.C. United, helping the club to an incredible second-half turnaround, registering career-highs with 10 goals and 17 assists, the latter ranking second in MLS. A product of Argentine club Boca Juniors famed academy, Acosta helped D.C. United to a 9-2-5 record during matches where he recorded a goal or an assist this season. Full stats and highlights

A member of the Paraguay National Team, Almirón starred for his country in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup before breaking out in 2016 at the Copa America Centenario. The 24-year-old had an impressive first season, recording nine goals and 14 assists, for which he was named 2017 MLS Newcomer of the Year. The Montreal Impact star scored 16 goals along with an MLS career-high 13 assists this season. A model of consistency, Piatti recorded 17 goals and six assists in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. DEFENDERS

Lawrence paced a New York defense that allowed a league low 33 goals this season en route to posting the best season in MLS history with a record 71 points. Originally discovered via the inaugural MLS Caribbean Combine in 2014, Lawrence recorded a career-high 28 games played in his fourth season with the Red Bulls. Full stats and highlights

Long experienced a breakout 2018 season, winning MLS Defender of the Year and earning his first All-Star Game selection. The 26-year-old defender helped New York register the best season in MLS history with a record 71 points, while the club’s 33 goals allowed were the fewest in the league. A three-time MLS Defender of the Year winner (2008, 2009, 2014), Marshall shined for Seattle this season, helping the club finish second in the Western Conference with the second-stingiest defense in the league. In his second full season with Columbus, the 23-year-old Steffen won the Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Award after registered a career-high 10 shutouts and helping the club to a fifth-place finish in the Eastern Conference.
