Was getting a little frustrated with one piece so I put it to the side to paint the Black Rabbit of Inle for some reason. (okay the reason is I've been wanting to do some Watership Down fanart for a while)
[ID: A digital painting of a black rabbit sitting on a grassy hill in front of a red moon. The rabbit is facing to the viewer's right, and its sole visible eye is glowing red. /ID]
So… I finished the Watership Down piece and made a Redbubble account 😁
Right now this is the only thing I have; so I will definitely add others… Thinking of maybe doing some more classic literature stuff… [wags eyebrows like a nerd]
Watership Down is one of my absolute favourite books, and I have every ounce of love for the culture in the book. Inlé is such an incredible character, and so vague. I adore designing them.
‘”Bargains, bargains, El-ahrairah,” he said. “There is not a day or a night but a doe offers her life for her kittens, or some honest captain of Owsla his life for his Chief Rabbit’s. Sometimes it is taken, sometimes it is not. But there is no bargain, for here, what is, is what must be.”
I kind of cheated. This is mostly just a grayed out version of my previous Watership piece, but I’m pretty happy with how the skull head look came out. :)
My drawing was going to be a old school clown...but instead decided it was a human version of the black rabbit of inle.
(the scars are because my client's little brother and his friend were bumping my table, and I needed a way to hide some pencil marks) (I'm a caregiver, btw)
