I watched Saltburn and I can't help but draw parallels with two other movies - Call Me By Your Name and Atonement. I'm not talking about characters and their similarities because the post will be long enough even without it. I was looking at those movies from a perspective of imagery, cinematography, shots and overall aesthetics. I really wanted to point out a few:

A protagonist accepts an invitation to join a wealthy family living in a medieval castle/ mansion

2. All the longing captured in one gaze

3. Sexual fantasies

4. Family breakfast chaotic energy

5. Lounging by the pool and sunbathing

I mean these are practically the same shots. And if you rewatch those scenes, camera angles are almost identical. And some more:

6. Sneaking nature of the characters and their love for peering through the door crack

7. A disastrous dinner party that turned into a search:

8. Blond, female character makes a shocking discovery on the premises of the mansion

9. All the guests/staff watch the character leave the estate

Well, those are the ones that caught my eye after the first watch of Saltburn. Such kind of movies are visually satisfying, so I don't mind seeing similar patterns being recycled. Please, do add other details to the post if you can spot something else!
