not to be parasocial but holy fuck do some of the dsmp members. worry me sometimes. like dreams habit of pushing himself and getting into drama over and over even as he's admitted that he went cold turkey on medication, tommy admitting that the stress of being a young streamer and having twitter always be on his ass is why he goes to therapy, wilbur and tommy talking about tubbo randomly bursting into tears and shouting at them when they tried to check up on him, ranboo saying that he isnt doing good mentally because he keeps going through a cycle of looking for criticism of him and his content (and it doesnt help that its been ramping up recently), and probably other problems i dont know of from various streamers i dont always watch and just

yeah many of them are privileged and some have a fuck ton of money or whatever but theyre also all people who, if this stuff doesnt work out, theyll likely plummet. and as they get more popular, it gets more and more acceptable to hate on them and even just openly say shitty things about them, constantly express disappointment with what they do even when they arent doing anything wrong (the constant assertion that ranboo's lore is boring and hasnt picked up, the consistent crit of technoblade's tone, assertion that there needs to be more lore overshadowing the people who *do* lore, even just little comments about how dumb any of them are)

and in the end its all.. worrying. how many untagged comments do they see? how many times do they manage to catch that one asshole in chat that tells them they're not good enough? any number of them could be dealing with terrible shit irl, or have something going on that we dont know about. and even if they didn't, it's. fucked up how normal it is to see someone just straight up be mean as hell or passive aggressive or whatever just because they think they won't be seen. philza's the only one over 30. being in their mid-twenties is an outlier. so many of these ccs are 16-25 and that's,, young. that's really really young to be in constant spotlight, in the news, hated by the masses, often for mistakes or things they didn't understand the harshness of (and of course, there's many times where they do understand and don't care, but that's rare)

i really do hope they're all okay. or at least that they're going to be okay. as much as i mess around i really would be okay if they took long ass breaks like wilbur and tommy or if they even just slow down in general like ranboo's planning to do. because god do i hope they'll be able to take that time to just, take care of themselves. it's got to be fuckin hard having thousands of eyes on you, hell, million of eyes on you. a lot hate you. even your fans think it's okay to just be fucking gross and pissy to/about you just because there's a chance you won't see them. it's already been seen how it effected the music industry, actors and actresses, professionals in all kinds of media. and these people are just. streamers who play minecraft for a living. fucking sucks man, i really hope they'll all be okay, that they're supporting each other and talking it out, it sucks to be in the spotlight

(about the cc's) i feel like more people should remember that these are just people. they're just a group of people playing minecraft. they arent professionals, they have little to no experience with this, and they're gonna make mistakes. like, yeah sometimes they make mistakes or make unappealing decisions with the smp/how they handle things, but they're literally just a group of bros having fun. the fanbase needs to stop acting like critics and like this is a professional project they are critiquing. idk i just think that a lot of the stuff i see on tumblr, twitter, and tiktok is just. too high of expectations.

Like, I agree with some opinions about the S2, but I usually only reblog those who are talking in a way that is respecting the cc’s, because they're Streamers, not actual actors. The Dream SMP became what it is because of a friend's joke and roleplay, so ofc it would be messy and sometimes over the edge. It’s like when you make a character and wanna go “I will make them badass :D” because that's a normal thing to want. Everyone here had an ‘edgy’ oc just bc they wanted that character to be edgy

I somewhat get overemotional and salty abt stuff bc I really do enjoy those characters, and I want their stories to have a happy ending, but that doesn’t mean that it's the obligation for the cc to do it. We are a fandom that proudly affirms that we respect the streamers boundaries, so we have to maintain our spot by also remembering they’re their humans first, streamers second, and amateur actors and actresses just for the bit at the moment.
