Hello everyone, I wanted to let you all know that I am officially off of hiatus and have been hard at work on a new project. This project in particular will be a complete version of The Clockwork Prince, a very small project that I made for the IGMC in 2018.
Why this project?
The Clockwork Prince was always a project I was always a project I wanted to return to after it's creation for the game jam to make a full game. As I had other projects at the time I was creating, I wanted to focus on those before moving to another.
What engine will you be using for this project?
For this project, I will be creating it in Unreal Engine 5. I am still very new to the engine, but I have been doing my very best to learn all I can to make it enjoyable.
Will this have the same story as the game jam project?
No, it will have a completely reworked story, there are some characters that will make an appearance that were in the jam, such as Ian, but alot has been changed.
Why were you on haitus?
During Maneki's development, I was contracted to work for a publisher and was not allow to make personal projects during my employment. I was able to finish Maneki, but that was the extent my contract allowed.
I have been very hard at work creating this project already, but as I am also working a full time job, there is also only so much time I can dedicate at a time to it. I still hope that you will look forward to it and enjoy some of previews I have made.
i was really rather confused when I had found out that some people find Jem's drug-induced semi-albino appearance romanceable and attractive. i myself might thought something like that at 17, can't get it now. at all! i've read the description that said: half Chinese and pale as a ghost with silver eyes and skin. Good Lord, if he hadn't morphed into octopus with blue cuprum blood, his red blood would certainly show itself in his eyes at least. i thought something like 'poor kid this can't be healthy or easy '. hope you are not disappointed anyway. you know, people with grey skin are not very attractive, they are mostly just dead.
“Character A needs a heart to survive” and “Character B ‘gives’ A their heart by falling in love with them” is the ultimate ship dynamic I will hear nothing else
"Our hearts, they need a mirror, Tessa. We see our better selves in the eyes of those who love us. And there is a beauty that brevity alone provides.” He dropped his gaze, then raised it to hers. “I would give you everything of myself,” he said. “I would give you more in two weeks than most men would give you in a lifetime.”
“There is nothing you haven’t given me, nothing I am dissatisfied with… .”
“I am,” he said. “I want to be married to you. I would wait for you forever, but …”
But we do not have forever. “I have no family,” Tessa said slowly, her eyes on his. “No guardian. No one who might be … offended … by a more immediate marriage.”
“I don’t know,” Jem said, gazing up at her from the floor, his expression a mixture of hope and disbelief. “The Council has not yet approved our request … and you do not have a dress …”
“I do not care about the Council. And I do not care what I wear, if you do not. If you mean it, Jem, I will marry you whenever you like.”
“Tessa,” he breathed. He reached for her as if he were drowning, and she ducked her head down to brush her lips against his. Jem raised himself up on his knees. His mouth ghosted across hers, once, twice, until her lips opened and she could taste his burned-sugar sweetness. “You are too far away,” he whispered, and then his arms were around her, and there was no space between them.
He held her to him, and her hands traced the shape of his face, his sharp cheekbones. So sharp, too sharp, the bones of his face, the pulse of his blood too close to the surface of the skin, collarbones as hard as a metal necklace.
His hands slid from her waist to her shoulders; his lips skimmed across her collarbone, the hollow of her throat, as her fingers twisted in his shirt, drawing it up so that her palms were against his bare skin. He was so thin, his spine sharp under her touch. Against the firelight she could see him painted in shadow and fire, the moving golden path of the flames turning his white hair to gilt.
I love you, he had said. In all the world, you are what I love the most.
She felt the hot press of his mouth again at the hollow of her throat, then lower. His kisses ended where her dress began. She felt her heart beating beneath his mouth, as if trying to reach him, trying to beat for him. She felt his shy hand slip around her body, to where the lacings fastened her dress closed… .
“Tessa,” he said. “Did you mean what you said? That you would marry me tomorrow ?”
She raised her chin and looked directly into his eyes. She could not bear the thought of waiting, and wasting another instant of his life. She wanted suddenly and fiercely to be tied to him—in sickness, in health, for better, for worse—tied to him with a promise and able to give him her word and her love without holding back.
i had this thought of jem as the clockwork prince, because the whole infernal devices storyline takes place alongside another: jem’s battle against the clock of his life, “winding down”. thus making him the clockwork prince because of his illness (the yin fen poisoning his blood). the prince of not having enough time. such a cruel fate to believe you are destined with when so young.
given yin fen is demon poison and demon blood burns shadowhunters…he must have been in a lot of pain. which is horrifying and breaks my heart into a million pieces to think about. yet jem is STILL so kind, gentle, and forgiving. god i am glad jem got his happy ending even if it took over a century, because no one deserved it more.
Was there ever a more beautiful sound than your name? To speak it aloud makes my heart ring like a bell. Strange to imagine that, isn’t it – a heart ringing – but when you touch me that is what it is like: as if my heart is ringing in my chest and the sound shivers down my veins and splinters my bones with joy.
Why have I written these words in this book? Because of you. You taught me to love this book where I had scorned it. When I read it for the second time, with an open mind and heart, I felt the most complete despair and envy of Sydney Carton. Yes, Sydney, for even if he had no hope that the woman he loved would love him, at least he could tell her of his love. At least he could do something to prove his passion, even if that thing was to die.
I would have chosen death for a chance to tell you the truth, Tessa, if I could have been assured that death would be my own. And that is why I envied Sydney, for he was free.
And now at last I am free, and I can finally tell you, without fear of danger to you, all that I feel in my heart.
You are not the last dream of my soul.
You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth.
With hope at least,
Will Herondale
OMG this book made me cry for hours and hours!!! The story is so beautifully written and I love Tessa, Will and Jem 💔💔
We're all doing ourselves a disservice not talking about Will having a Welsh accent more. Why are we allowing the dewelshification/ englishification of Will Herondale......
Damian carried 2 swords. The first was gifted to him by his mother and was the only one he was ever seen using.
The second was also a gift, a beautiful sword made of ice with a green shine. The blade is able to take upon almost any foe, able to cut through titanium or any manner of creature.
The sword was gifted to him just before his arrival in Gotham by his beloved betrothed Prince Daniel Phantom of the Infinite Realms. They had trained alongside each other since they could walk.
Daniel had crafted Damian the sword to keep him safe! It would always remain by his side and return to him unless he willingly gave it up.
So there was no way he was letting the Justice League take it from him even if they could, just because Constantine and Zantana claimed it was too dangerous for the hands of a teenager.
But what was he supposed to do? Just let Darkseid kill them all?
